    Battlefeild 1, a game that is 5 years old, has better graphics, better design, better class system, better maps, better sound. Battlefeild 2042 is a culmination of years of dice throwing excrement at the wall and see what sticks.

    It's the best multiplayer fps game for sure but I don't appreciate the direction EA is taking. First Battlefield is a MATURE audience, most of the gamer are male - 20-45 years old. They do not wish to have a Fortnite experience in Battlefield. + Nothing justified that solo campaign is missing on this game

    Never was so disappointed, the game isn't ready to be released (considering how much time DICE had compared to cod games, it's just impermissible), the shooting is also weird (like from CoD), so the game doesn't deserve to be bought by any sane player.

    The main game mode is just very poorly made. Nothing from the real BF is there! BF fans didn't want this game. In 2 years of game development, DICE has done nothing good except Portal mode. And they didn't do this mode either =) 128 people were supposed to be the coolest feature. A lot of people, a lot of fun, and in the end, 80% of the maps are just empty, the war is only on 1-2 pointsThe main game mode is just very poorly made. Nothing from the real BF is there!     First thing the game should of been delayed. Glitches, bugs, rubber banding driving vehicles. Getting stuck in dieing cutscenes not be able too respawn . The destruction of the buildings is done poorly. Play BF4 in portal you will understand. Needs more game modes . I don’t mean more modes in portal. Call in system needs too be taken out , or completely reworked . Having full platoons of vehicles on top of a skyscraper is simply stupid so the other team has no chance at taking those objectives. Something needs to change in the gaming industry or we will be forced to swallow these half ass garbage games.     Poor map design, multiplayer, hit detection, squad system, veihle handling, UI, gun Varity, missing single player mode, Hazzard mode is terrible, wors battlefield made since the series inception. So many basic features missing, it's only a battlefield game by name, all the old shcool devs left and we are left with garbage, EA ruined another franchise. GG WP

    Why wont they just redo a good BF4? This game died after BF1, after that it was all downhill. BF2042 was hope for me, to see the old tough game hard mode, with a good campaign (as BF3/BF4/BF1 were), with a good conquest mode (large and small scales), good destroyable environment, serious characters, lot of good guns, easy menu. This game is the complete opposite, it's the bottom, the veryWhy wont they just redo a good BF4? This game died after BF1, after that it was all downhill.     As a long time Battlefield player I was hoping so much this would be the end all of who had the better game between BF and COD. I was expecting a actual Battlefield type experience with this game but it doesn't fully immerse you like the other Battlefield games. The graphics are good on next gen and PC. It runs smooth depending on hardware. I play on PS5 and haven't had but a few issues.As a long time Battlefield player I was hoping so much this would be the end all of who had the better game between BF and COD. I was expecting a actual Battlefield type experience with this game but it doesn't fully immerse you like the other Battlefield games. The graphics are good on next gen and PC. It runs smooth depending on hardware. I play on PS5 and haven't had but a few issues. The UI however is a mess and doesn't have a smooth flow to it. The maps also feel empty and not lived in. I see where they were going with the concept and mechanics of the game but I really think they missed what their core fan base wanted. Some of the new features are enjoyable and I like some of the direction they went in. However too many corners were cut, to many key features that makes Battlefield, well, Battlefield were left out and the community is down right angry about it. They need to listen to the players, the fan base that has supported them for years with there time and money. There are several things that need to be added back in. I don't need to go through the list because it's all over the internet what they screwed up. I want to have hope for this game and I truly hope Dice can get there act together and change it for the better. With the new systems in place they should be able to not only patch and update but to fully adjust how the game feels and plays. If they can add in what they left out to get back to the basics, bring new and seasonal events to keep the game fresh and not go the route of how the other FPS have gone with gimmicks and pay to win items, then I think this could be a really great game. Yes there are bugs, yes the game does not feel complete, no it is not worth $60-$70 currently, but, this is a big but, if they listen and open their eyes to what their community truly wants, fix problems quickly, and communicate with players it could turn out to be a game well worth hundreds of hours worth of play. For the time being I will be going back to playing Warzone and BF 1 & 5 until they fix the issues.… Expand

    After owning all BF games this one should never have been released, I never have experienced a BF game this poor in so many areas, paid the full price but I fee they should refund everyone + 20% for wasting our time.

    The badest battlefield i've played so far ... And i play since Battlefield 2 ..... People running everywhere, grappling everywhere + **** wingsuit, very hard to aim is there an aim assist ? No score or leaderboard whatsoever. This game is no fun and total **** I was hype by the 64 on 64 but after few hours i'll never play this **** game. Hell let loose is soooooooooooo much fun

    this is a falsely advertised, broken mess of a game, and has made me now the person who will be waiting at least 6 months before I even think of buying another game from this developer. It will be months before this game comes close to being the battlefield we were promised.

    Have played now for 2 weeks and here is my verdict.

    The maps are simple, boring, uninspiring and too flat, open and some lack details. Create a basic "future city" and add sand all over it, no need to add any details! Create the most basic "futuristic city" in the background and the whole map is a simple, undetailed boring park... The graphics on PS5 looked better on the Beta    Have played now for 2 weeks and here is my verdict.

I used to praise BF for its state of the art sound design, but it seems they have left that behind as massive tanks and other vehicles can drive 10 feet from you and you won't hear a thing until its too late. Rocket launchers do not harm players like they should, C5 feels incredibly weak, there is no penalty to aim when jump and slide shooting. It's like this game is BF in name only. It truly wants to be something that caters to a different player base. One that is not tactical and requires very little thinking, and I hate it. I'm not mad, just disappointed at how bad this game is after being so hyped up. I have been a BF player for 16 years, and I have never been so let down like I am with this game. Also where are the score boards and voice chat? Why are the most basic features gone? What is happening to this company and why are people giving them a free pass? Your time is better spent on other games, seriously.… Expand

Obviously, being a BF fan for so many years, I went against my better judgement. As a gamer, I dont like to wait too long to play something I absolutely love, and so I am part of the problem by buying a game that is mediocre in its time at launch, giving developers no real responsibility in keeping up in shipping poor quality games at release. Will it get better, of course, but how much time will they keep investing into this game to fix it, remains to be seen. We all see how BF5 went.     There are so many features missing from this game that it almost feels like some other company saw the old games and decided to give it a shot and make a cheap copy. Visually the game looks stunning, but the awful map design, awful specialists system and lack of content such as weapons and maps make this BF feels rushed and imcomplete. Everyone will have one in mind which has the most nostalgic value for them but that doesnt take away that bf2042 is an absolute piece of art on its own.

    Absolument nul, ennuyeux, moche, vide, inintéressant... EA prend vraiment les joueurs pour des pigeons et des vaches à lait. Et surtout on n'oublie pas le commentaire de la part d'EA pour les joueurs mécontents de Battlefield 5 : "si vous n'êtes pas content, n'achetez pas le jeu !".

    Overall I love Battlefield but this Game is too limited with literally everything , After the Update the weapons are a lot better but, we need bigger squads, we need infanterie maps, or at least we need tdm servers on Portal where you can Level your weapons because this wasnt fixed

    I made an account just to leave a review for this game. I don’t understand how it is so broken. Most of the time my load out does not work and I cannot even spawn. This means that I have to quit the match and join another just to play a broken game. There is so much wrong that I can’t even be bothered.

    What online FPS doesn’t have a scoreboard?…

    Not a fan of the $pecialist$, I miss the Team Play the Class System brought naturally... Sometimes this game hits just right, but those moments are too few and far between... Have had it since Early Access, and it hasn't grown on me much since... I'll stick to 4, 1, and V... Maybe someday this will be a decent Battlefield, but can't really recommend as it stands...     A game of this caliber with a budget should not be released in this state. Seems like all time was spent on developing new "diverse" specialists, most of which are trash. Weapon selection is minimal. Weapon attachments are minimal (many duplicates). From what I can tell there's no wall leaning or underwater swimming.     Some of the mechanics of the games are broken. Glitches and unreliable servers completely mess up the game. Game modes are really fun and weapon system, i wish they were more options but having the option to switch it up whenever you like is a big plus for me.

The enemy spotting is broken, the sniping has been cut back on, what is with everyone being able to revive? A healing gun, seriously? What makes me laugh with all of that is now I can put a radio on when I'm in a vehicle, that's exactly what I wanted in a Battlefield game, a silly radio function. I knew there would be grapple, and wing suits, and all these silly looking specialists but figured it would still be the good old battlefield gameplay, but it's not even close. Can I turn off the character voices after the game? I really don't care about the different specialists, I just care about enjoying the game with some friends in squad. It's confusing sometimes to see either side of the match with the same specialists too. I found a great post on Reddit listing all the things that have been removed from this battlefield that was standard in previous battlefield titles, and it's a very very long list.

    Frustrating pos. Battlefield was my favorite franchise…was. Graphics are sub par for Battlefield. Guns feel like **** Sound is worse then previous games. Worst thing is level design. Some matches are un-winnable due to **** objective placement. All around downgrade. Wish they would have just kept updating Battlefront 2.

As with most polarized topics these days, there is a loud and vocal minority.     Super fun Battlefield game, probably the best FPS in years! Don’t get why it getting review bombed, probably the cod and halo fans! Yes there are some bugs but it’s still been highly enjoyable! Would really give it an 8 as it has bugs but as it’s getting review bombed I will give it a 10

    The game is a solid 5 out of 10. The weirdest issue with the game is that it has no scoreboard which makes the game feel soulless. The game play is OK to burn an hour of time. After that it becomes pretty stale, especially with the bugs in the game. The one good thing bf2042 has done is that the maps are some of the best maps i have played in a battlefield series.

    Game breaking bugs. Deployment bug alone renders the game virtually useless. Loadouts disappear and you can't get them back, you have to close the game and sometimes even delete and redownload it completely in order to get ONE MATCH in before it bugs out again. This is on PS5.

    Absolutely HEINOUS miscarriage of duty by EA and Dice.

    In my opinion, this is one of the best game relased in the last few months. Just a pair of bugs are the only problems I’ve seen (flying veichkes). This is a really funny game, I’m enjoying it and everyone should too. Portal mode is awesome, there are not too many maps/modes/guns but I’m sure they would add more in the next months/years. For the moment, I’m really enjoying it!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game really fails to live up to the hype that it got. In a nutshell, this game was not worth the $100 I paid for it. It is more of a $30 game at best and here's why:

    -The game has no campaign. I could look past this if the multiplayer had more maps and game modes but unfortunately the few game modes aren't terribly engaging.
    -Basic Battlefield staples are missing such as building destruction, classes, squad play, and bullet drop. This feels more like Call of Duty than Battlefield and it is a terrible letdown.
    -The new way of customizing the weapons is interesting but I think was not well executed. It is clunky and honestly more problematic than it is worth. Again, it undermines the squad strategy play.
    -There's few maps and weapons and the weapons are terribly unbalanced. The assault rifles recoil too much and are unusable at longer ranges. The SMG's by comparison are much more effective than they should be.
    -Marking enemies is almost impossible and you end up marking points on the map instead of the enemy.
    -The game mode most people seem to enjoy is portal where you can play past games. This unfortunately undermines 2042 as a whole because people enjoy the older games instead of the newer game. I'm not sure why that was included when they could have put more time and effort in making 2042 better.
    -Lastly the graphics are terrible. There was so much hype about how much more realistic the graphics were. Honestly even after the game fully buffers, the graphics in Battlefield 1 look better in my opinion.

    The game honestly feels like it was made by the people who were working on Call of Duty. The opening scenes made it seem like they had a good idea for a storyline but it doesn't go anywhere past that scene. There is no direction and ultimately seems like there is no point to it.    … Expand

    Game is clunky, arcadey and the balancing is completely broke, Don’t waste you’re money on battlefield 2042, in my opinion go back and buy bf3 etc,

    Well i have almost no issues with the game and a bunch of fun!! Graphics is amazing and runs perfect on my ps5

    Сделайте что-нибудь с картами в основном режиме !! Либо дайте нормальный portal с прокачкой и кучей хотя бы старых карт на первое время.

    I can't believe how I've gone from being a die-hard battlefield fan starting with 2 on PC, to hoping the series dies with this iteration. So many of the defining characteristics of battlefield are gone. Squads mean nothing (I don't know why they even exist in the game), there are no classes, and worst of all I can't even pick my gun or specialist because the game is so bugged. The only thing remotely okay is the portal mode, which is literally just a copy of previous battlefield games with this new buggy game engine. Another thing you should know, this game only has two real game modes, both of which are locked at 128 players on maps that are too big and too empty where so that the only viable way to get kills is with a tank, helicopter, or sniper. I'm so disappointed in this series. What a shame.… Expand

    While the repetition and lack of content cooled my enthusiasm a bit, I am excited to see where DICE can take Battlefield 2042 from here — if current industry trends hold, I’m confident this will be a strong addition to my already-full shooter rotation after a few months of additions and updates.
