Sure, Platinum has made flawed games before, but nothing nearly so bland or as uninspiring as this. [Christmas 2014, p.120]

The story is shallow, the characters are shallow, and the world is shallow. It’s bewilderingly underdone; there’s very little content and it doesn’t really engage with its source material.

The Legend of Korra is a poor title that offers little in the way of fun. The combat is the highlight, but even then it mostly consists of button mashing and has multiple irritating elements.

The worst game Platinum has ever made, and thanks to its sheer incompetence and banality almost the Bizarro World opposite of Bayonetta.

Well it's for me. I'm the perfect demographic for this. I mean it’s not the longest game, but it's not a full AAA action game. It's a minor release from a smaller studio who make pretty fun action games and this definitely fits the bill.

Gameplay: The bending is awesome and makes me feel powerful which is exactly what I wanted from an Avatar game. The combos are simple, but the complexity comes from mixing the different styles of bending which each have their own effects and feel, not from a million button combos.

Story & Presentation: The story is okay, not amazing but it's serviceable and has a lot of nods to fans of the series. Plus the animated cut scenes help set the mood. The graphics are good, the levels themselves are a little bland, but the cell-shaded style fit the world perfectly. Now the bending animations themselves are gorgeous, and all the different bending styles have subtle visual cues. Also the music is great and matches the series.

Overall: This game isn't breaking any new ground, but if you're a fan of the animated series you'll likely have a good time feeling like a bending master.

I have read other reviews and it really depends what you are looking for. For $15, it provides the enjoyment I expect. I would have paid $20 but that is probably because I am a fan of the series and was wishing for a Korra game. I recommend it if you do enjoy the Korra series and want to be part of this world for sometime. If my view changes for this game, I will come back to change the review. Full Review »

Solid beat-em-up from Platinum, you can definitely feel their footprint on this. I'm having a great time, but don't expect this to have the same level of writing as the series. It pushes all the buttons that the Dynasty Warriors series does - It gives you incredible powers, and tons of enemies to plow through, while playing in the universe of your choice. If you've ever thought about using a water whip to drag someone close to you just to smash them with earthbending, then this is probably for you. Full Review »
