    Fantastic game. Had my emotions going and the suspense was awesome. The characters were all great and it had some eye opening scenes. This is a game I will definitely recommend to anyone and do not trust these people rate bombing this game who have only watched cutscenes. This game was handled properly, and effectively got their point across. 10/10.

    Really disappointed by this one. While there is absolutely superb production quality in the acting, graphics, etc; and the combat is fortunately not changed much from the enjoyable combat in the first game, the story is just absolutely terrible. I think of this game like a coat that is super stylish and super comfortable, but smells like rotten eggs. Doesn't matter how stylish orReally disappointed by this one. It's really a shame that Naughty Dog messed up the franchise like this, I'm shocked no one at Sony saw this coming and put the kibosh on it.     Nice graphics & scenery & very polished but that's about it. Generic survival horror gameplay with barely any thought that was put into puzzles, story is utter garbage & basically a middle finger to the fans of the first game, all that to push their woke narrative, Naughty Dog used to be one of the best devs what happened? What changed?...

The story was the largest disappointment of the game. Killing Joel in the first hour, playing as his killer who we have grown to hate while the game tries to make us sympathize with her as we play as her character for an extended portion of the game. The worst part was that Abby’s story turned out to be way more captivating than Ellie’s. There were more interesting characters who actually grew from their experiences before they were ultimately killed (kind of disappointing but not unexpected). The ending was the worst for me ultimately reaching Ellie’s climax and then deciding not to go through with killing Abby. What was this whole story for? Had she forgot about all the people who died or her family who she left behind. That was truly disappointing to watch. However, I realize story is not all that makes a game. As I said before I enjoyed the gameplay and having to outwit or outgun my enemies in certain areas while scavenging for materials or ammunition. I also enjoyed all the notes you could read to immerse yourself into the world. Overall, I was disappointed. It was not a bad game but it was certainly not the 10/10 game that all the critics had rated it. (The only spoiler I knew ahead of time was the Joel would die).… Expand

It was insanely depressing and brutal Ellie murders all these people throws away her family in the process all for her to go to kill Abby and lose the last piece of Joel she had. I hope they make a dlc or epilogue or something that tries to at least give us some hope that Ellie was able to be a somewhat peace… Expand

    But let's start with the good. The visuals are stunning. The lighting, the motion capture, the locations are all life like and excellent. While some characters or enemies feel generic, the main cast feels almost like real people.
    This, however, amplifies the central problem: the writing. Without exception, the characters act stupidly. Every single character behaves like an idiot and doesn't act in a way I as player would want them to act. Most conflicts could be resolved if people just spoke to each other, and outside of some surface level notions of revenge and loyalty, there's very little going on with the characters in terms of what they stand for. This isn't Japanese style writing where every character represents an idea which inevitably places them on a trajectory towards a tragic conflict. There's no pathos or philosophy here. The characters remain bland and hollow, and worse yet, frustrating in their stupidity. For a story driven game, that's a death sentence. It makes the entire experience frustrating.
    Add to that, that the actual action sequences are simplistic and repetitive, with very oddly timed inputs and the same "artificial" feel that plagued the uncharted series, and you end up with a game that you play one for the story and never again. There's not much of an actual game here. It feels more like a very impressive tech demo or an interactive movie. Your actions never affect the outcome of the story though, so the entire experience runs on rails, counter to the possibilities of the medium. If your choices affected the outcome of the story, then this would be a real winner. With a presentation as good as this, it's a huge missed opportunity. This never becomes the player's story.

    I debated if I should give the game a 2 or a 3. The direction in some scenes is so good, the use of music so powerful that a 3 would well be warranted. But in the end I had to score this as a game, not a movie.    … Expand

Absolutely regret spending anything on this one. Stay far, far away from this one. This really makes the case for an ability to 'trade' digital copies.

    The perfect continuation of the first game. Dynamic characters and relationships, great combat, beautiful graphics. This game is divisive, but is worth a play because the execution of the story is great. Part two is just as much of a masterpiece as the first game.

The Last of Us Part II is all looks, very little substance. The game design-wise was gorgeous and I definitely give a massive congratulations to that department, and it was so nice to see a lesbian lead...butThis game was extremely disappointing and it really let me down. I had really high hopes for this game, not for the gameplay, but for its immersive story telling. Sadly, it never feels immersive, and the story is an absolute mess. I tried to keep an open mind, and say that it is just different and maybe revolutionary... I was just reaching for something that wasn’t there.

    The graphics and gameplay are amazing, however the story and it's execution are a disaster. The characters are inconsistent with the first part, there are plotholes and making us play as a character that we will never like is a horrible choice. They force a story that does not make sense. They can only save the franchise by starting the next part with ellie waking up from a bad dream.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. my brother preordered this game and avoided all spoilers. we both loved the first game but I was the only one to look into the spoilers. I decided to cancel my preorder and wait until the game came out to see what people thought of the game.

    after seeing all the perfect 10/10 I became a little skeptical. especially since most never talked about the story and just praised the "representation" in video games.

    now im glad I didn't listen to them. my brother and I waited all night for the game to finish downloading and stated up until 6 in the morning.

    the graphics looked amazing. which wasn't surprising considering the last game is still amazing.

    but that's the only good part about the game.

    the story, the main reason people loved the first game, was a complete **** show. i was hoping that the leaks were just lies, or there was missing context that would make it work in the end. but no.

    no one is likable in this game. Joel is suddenly a dumbass who knows he shouldn't trust people, starts trusting a group of strangers, and is killed like he was another random NPC that no one cares about.

    and who gives a **** if Abby is trans? this character was so unlikeable I feel bad that THIS is sposed to be their representation.

    after just 6 hours of playing, my brother turned the game off and is trying to look up how to get his money back on PlayStation4.

    if you don't give a f--- about the story, then ya, get the game. it looks great and plays similarly to the original.

    but if you're like me and most people who fell in love with this game series for the story, don't get this. you will be very disappointed.    … Expand

    I'm posting because I can´t believe critic's reviews, they're either getting paid to give a good score to the game or even worse, they're in denial. This is simply my opinion after finishing the game, rest assured I won't make any kind of spoiler.

    1. TLOU 2 is simply boring and pretends to be deep but in reality the story feels half-baked.
    2. The gameplay isn't anything new, if you played the first one, you already played this one (int has some QoL improvements but nothing groundbreaking).
    3. On the "bright" side, the game does have nice graphics and made me feel intrigued in the kind of graphics we should expect from next gen.

    Shame on ND, they had everything to tell a great tale but writers decided to take the wrong direction with the story.    … Expand

    The graphics where great, some of the best i ever seen, and ive seen like no bugs. The combat is decent, but gets a little boring and repetitive. I wish there was more interaction , but that is more of a personal wish, since i know this is not that kind of game, and never was.

    The writing is awful, and the shifting perspectives does not make the story flow well, like in the first game.     I swear anyone who voted 5 and above is a paid actor. What a disrespectful way to treat this franchise. Utter disgrace. Only thing that saved the game was environments and animation.

    Game looks okay, but that's about it. Gameplay is slow and tedious. 2-3 hours into the game and it feel more or less identical to the first one. No new enemies. AI is utterly trash. And let's not talk about the storywriting...

    Good job metacritic. You officially exposed All these companies being paid off for 10/10 reviews. There’s no way In hell this game deserves more than 5/10. The first one if one of my favorite games of all times but this second game is an abomination. **** plot holes throughout the entire **** game.

    I am gonna keep this short. I was massively dissapointed with this sequel. This is some SJW crap masquerading as a game. The graphics are great but that is about it. Gameplay and story suck big time. WTF where you thinking?

    Returning this game tomorrow. Would rather replay the first game and not ruin fond memories of it.

    The story is cringingly predictable and all too reflective of progressive agenda. i had really waited for this game too =*(((

    This game's story is a great way of showing how to kill an IP. Making a sequel for SJWs who won't even play the game & spitting in the face of the already established fanbase from the original is a mind boggling move.

    If you love interactive movie games with characters you can emphasize with then this is the game for you. If ypu picked up the uncharted trilogy when it was free on PS+ and thought it was "okay" then this is not the game for you

    Uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado, digno sucesor de la parte 1. Gráficos excelentes, jugabilidad impecable, y una gran historia. El juego es violento y gráfico en su violencia, no es para todos.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
