    I don't understand what the plan with this game was. I never normally post reviews, in fact I made my account just to review this because I feel cheated.

    This is a story driven game, but the story is irredeemable. Characters act like they are completely different people. Things happen that don't make the game enjoyable. There is so, so much boring filler. After the first few hours, I didn't want to finish the game but decided that it was worth getting to the end just for a bit of catharsis. But the ending was a joke. There is no depth to this story. It is shallow and petty and completely ludicrous.

    The gameplay is average. It feels dated for a 2020 game. AI is barely improved and the linear level design gets old fast. Often I would slog through the stealth sections and firefights just to get to the next cutscene.

    The audio and visuals are incredible. Stellar, the best I've ever seen on a game.

    Story - 1/10
    Gameplay - 6/10
    Graphics - 9/10

    Because the story is the selling point of this game, and because this game catastrophically fails to deliver, I can not justify giving this game any higher than a 2/10.

So naughty dog I can kill the other characters that did me wrong but oh no not the big bad because of a terrible flashback that takes an actual second.     Great graphics, horrible story. Playing the first hour and a half was fun, but the rest was hoping for it to be good, and being disappointed in the end.

    TLOU II have a great gameplay and graphics, however, TLOU used to be about the story and this one lack every basic point... Its forced, its badly written and it disrespects its own characters and for what i wonder... It was a huge let down...

There is a lot of progressive ideology stuck in our faces too much. For me the franchise died the moment Joel died in a ridiculous way.     The positive reviewers like to act like they are making good points when arguing why Joel was meant to die. No one disagrees Joel deserved to die, he was never established as a morally good character and he made a selfish decision which condemned the human race. No one is angry Joel died we are angry about how he died. My take on this would be much different if we were introduced to Abby long before she brutally murders Joel. They set them self up with an insurmountable task of creating empathy for Abby. And they didn't even try, we got a ten minute scene where she saves a Zebra with her father then they reveal Abby is the person who convinced them Ellie should be murdered to save humanity. If the writers are trying to make the player empathize with Abby why would they establish her as the one who condemned Ellie which inevitably led to Joel killing her father?

    Later on in the story we are introduced to Lev who saves Abbys life. This prompts Abby to betray the wolves to save Lev. This decision of Abbys feels like a fruitless attempt by the writers to establish Abby as a morally good character in order to gain empathy from the audience. They're trying to define Abby as selfless contrary to her making numerous selfish decisions. It's hard to say anything for certain about Abby's character because every other decision is conflicting. One moment she is selfless the next she is selfish. When it comes to condemning Ellie her morals are for the good of the many but when it comes to saving Lev her morals are for the good of the few. She gets very angry when she finds out Ellie has killed her friends yet she's already betrayed these friends and was prepared to leave these friends behind to help Lev.

    The story overall is nonsensical and revolves around and characters literally abandoning and losing everything in a fruitless quest for revenge. Both Abby and Ellie quite literally sacrificed everything over avenging the deaths of two people in a world where everyone has lost someone. Death and violence is around almost every corner of this world. Yet for whatever reason these two people are so special our characters travel thousands of miles killing hundreds to enact their revenge. Even after watching the bond which is formed between Joel and Ellie in the first game I have a hard time believing that Joel's death was enough to bring on this murderous rampage. Especially after Joel and Ellie’s rough relationship has been established.

    This world isn't the same world we were put into in the first game. There is no hope in this world, there is only violence and sadness. The violence is so over the top that by the end of the game I was completely numb to it all. The game heavily relies on shock value that was brought about through overly violent and grotesque actions perpetrated towards beloved characters which was so overly used it left me feeling nothing when the game came to it's final conclusion and this mattered the most. At no point were we given any sort of relief or loving character development which gave us respite from the sadness and violence of this world previously. In the first game Ellie provided 90% of this relief from the awful world we were witnessing. But she is now a shadow of her former self, despite spending her years safe and sheltered in a settlement with electricity she has completely lost the spark we saw in the first game. The conclusion of the game is hollow, hundreds die in this needless revenge plot and one singular person being saved who the player has established no empathy for is supposed to bring meaning to all the meaningless violence.    … Expand

    TLOU never needed a secuel, the story was already over and was a masterprice. TLOU part 2 story is just lgbt propaganda and **** lm really disapointed. They literally **** off on the narrative, and in the characters i love, i cant imagine a worse history for this game

    If you asked the giraffe from the first game to write the sequel, it would've probably written better story than this. I'm giving 5 just for the artists/devs efforts who made this horrible thing somewhat bearable

    ND gameplay is always average at best. You don't play ND games because of their gameplay, you play it for the amazing visuals and sound, the music, and the story. Their games are always breathtakingly gorgeous. Music is always well done. So in a way, they really don't get bonus points for doing what ND is known for.

    Troy Baker is at his absolute best and hit a grand slam every time he was at the plate. Ashley Johnson was amazing. This doesn't mean the dialogue was well written, far from it.

    The story is horrendous. Character development was weak. Where is the "Bill"? The "Tess"? The "Ish" (even though you never meet him! he was awesome!)? It was ultra violent for the sake of being ultra violent. And so much so early, that it lessened the impact of it as the game progressed. It completely veered from the 2016 announcement trailer and the last big trailer that showed Joel (and not Jesse) saying "You think I'd let you do this on your own?".

    Someone, somewhere decided that a story rewrite was in order which resulted in the near year delay. Flashbacks were re-used to save development dollar.

    It could have been the coda for the PS4 before the arrival of the PS5. It's just disappointing.    … Expand

This would have been a 10/10 game if they executed the great story telling of TLOU 1 with the great controls, graphics, and combat of the new game. However the story telling was ruined within the first hours when someone that impacted the game so much dies in the most honorable way. The people that argue was because of the LGBT environment being forced I do not agree with because it was not as bad as expected, but the storytelling in general was horrendous especially with the new character Abby. This game shattered the remaining hope 2020 had for being good year.… Expand

Plays well, graphics are superb, storyline is intriguing, and (coming from a conservative who doesn't necessarily agree with the entire LGBQwxabcyz trash) who really cares about that issue in a game with such a deep & emotional story. I haven't found one issue with the game as of yet. If I do, my 10 will surely drop, but forNot finished yet, but this game should be GotY for sure, imho. First off i gave this game a 3 because come on, you can't deny those gorgeous graphics. A no name npc's daughter seeks revenge for her father who was about to kill a child? Don't get me wrong she has every right to seek revenge, but who the hell was he? We didn't even know his name. And not only was this irrelevant **** a 'protagonist' that *spoiler alert* kills joel, but ellie's dumbass lets her walk free in that appalling ending. Might i add that barbaric sex scene which was very insignificant to the story and didnt humanize these new and impertinent characters because news flash, we were forced to sympathize with them and no one did. Neil, you really blew it with this. I think neil is trying to use this game to explore his freakish sexual fantasies, and force feed us his agenda. The lgbtq+ community couldn't even bare this mess of a game. The old ellie protected herself from david and in the end killed him, but this new ellie is so soft for letting abby go free. Abby literally gets to enjoy life with her new beau while ellie sits on the beach crying and goes home to a cold and empty bed. Alone. Don't even cry, because you had optimal time to go and sneak kill her. I had hope that maybe this game could live up to its predecessor, but i was mistaken. This game is a poor excuse for a sequel and seems like a horribly written wattpad fanfiction. The new characters are just plain boring and some pay little to no purpose to the plot. The plot is lazy and bland and the original characters completely abandon their previous personality traits and deviate from past lessons that were learnt. Example: TLOU showed a funny light-hearted ellie that did everything it took to protect herself and joel. Joel was a sceptical/distrustful person and didn't trust people easily, meaning he didnt disclose information to people he didnt trust. ESPECIALLY to strangers. TLOU2 shows a darker ellie. She's not light-hearted and she finds but yet doesnt kill the monster of all monsters: abby. Joel (and Tommy) are friendly with everyone and tells complete strangers their names, which some of you may know causes Joel's demise. Now i hope you see these trends because obviously they have deviated personality wise from the first one. Joel deserved to be avenged. He deserved better. I'm mostly disappointed in ellie because she acted kind of like a **** to joel in the beginning and still didnt avenge him in the end. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME. This game was a hard pill to swallow but to the place that i bought this game, i would like a refund.… Expand

What happens around the 2 hours mark ruined the meaning of the first game and made me lose all interest, if I didn't pay I would have just stopped there, The love triangle thing is not for me and I find the revenge theme not interesting, the ending means nothing to me, Ellie would have been better sacrificed for science. I still had hope, even after the leaks, given ND past work but it was way worse than I thought. Some of the dialogue sounds straight out of fan-fiction to me… Expand

    The gameplay is boring and monotonous. The plot is terrible and uninteresting. The AI sucks and most enemies are reused often, with a plethora of bugs. The only redeeming quality about this game is the character models and voice acting.

    The Last of Us 2 ist aus meiner Sicht das bisher beste Spiel des Jahres. Grafisch ist es auf der Konsole meine Ansicht nach, anderen spielen weit voraus. Das Gameplay wurde zum Großteil wie im ersten Teil belassen und ist daher auch leicht schwammig und für manche mit Sicherheit erstmal gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Story ist wirklich klasse grade die erste Hälfte hat mich wirklichThe Last of Us 2 ist aus meiner Sicht das bisher beste Spiel des Jahres. Grafisch ist es auf der Konsole meine Ansicht nach, anderen spielen weit voraus.     But as you can see i rated the 3/10 which seems like it doesn't match what i just wrote above but there is one thing that makes this game rated this low and it is The Story.

    The story is the sole reason you get these types of games and the story of this game to say the least is very bad and very confusing at some points, the characters feel like they have no goals and nothing like the first game, every thing after the death of one of the main characters of the first game feels like a forced "feel bad for me, i'm human too" kind of narrative and it doesn't help that you have to hunt the main characters to seek revenge right after you were shown that after you meet those characters you're going to kill one of them, and in the very end you have the chance as the main character to to kill this villain who killed your friends (you killed theirs aswell) but for some stupid reason you decide that you're better than them and you let them go live, just to comeback to a dead friend and a broken relationship, just super confusing and and very stupid in my opinion, i think the developers went the GOT season 8 route with their writing and my score shows that.

Naughty dog makes good games and aren’t afraid to take risks. This game proves that. They are a company that creates games for a beautiful story not to please people. You need to go into this game with an open mind because it is sad and people we live die. That is what makes this game awesome because the unexpected always happens. Who would have thought this company would put that scene into the first few hours of the game. I was speechless and hurt but I got over it and took my anger out on the infected and other humans. Overall a great game and people need to stop getting butt hurt when things don’t go planned.… Expand

    The last of Us Part 2 doesn’t care about the characters it established in the first game and barely cares about the characters they introduce in this game. An integral plot point occurs because characters forget who they were in the last game and how they’ve survived for 20+ years. Antagonist characters have weak motivations and don’t make for compelling villains/characters. Единственное что заслуживает оценки так это работа дизайнеров окружения, локации и мир шикарны но мы это уже видели, к примеру в Division 2, но гораздо интереснее интерактивнее.

    There's no way these thousands of reviews less than a day after release give an accurate representation of the product. Mostly giving a 10 to counter the negativity since I'm not that far in. But everything I've seen so far has been immensely positive for me. I liked the opening of the first one more, but that sequence is damn hard to beat.

    Don't care 'bout the the critic reviews, the users are saying the game is bad, so believe in then. This game lacks the good poetry of ''The last of us'', destroying the characters we love. The worst thing is that the game will probably win GOTY, cause it's not the players that choose then. Just... don't waste your money on this.

    Story is bad ,as bad as it can be and its really slow paced it tries too hard to make you care about all the new shallow characters . Killing the already well established character just to introduce this roid monkey all for SJW sake was a low blow to any tlou fan.
    No amount of graphics or art style which isn't anything special in tlou2 and gameplay which is mediocre it hardly improved from previous one, will make up for this boring slog through this game.
    A score of 95 really shows you the incompetence of "critics" who are just too afraid to speak the truth about the game or they are simply paid off by Sony and ND.    … Expand

Unfortunately with Joel’s death, you are given a character who constantly brings things up that are unhelpful, and is written poorly. She doesn’t add to anything in a positive way and just feels like a forced romance addition. It would feel the same regardless of gender, Just another bad character. She didn’t need a partner, or if you had to you should have her and Tommy together so there is the dynamic between Ellie’s style of grieving and Tommy’s. The story made me lose the will to play mid way through, as the main characters and emotional connection was to Joel and Ellie, and no other characters feel like they have a strong connection. Removing that connection removed a huge portion of the reason for playing the game.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
