    I never expected anything about this game, but still disappoint me. I was really afraid that the spoilers wherer real. But damn this was worst. Congrast to the team that develop this, it was very hard to **** this up, and you made it.

    I really hate to see people who have yet to play the game rate it over a leak. I am half way through the game and believe this game is just as good or better than the original. Naughty dog worked hard on this game and it shows. Please buy the game and experience it.

    I cannot believe the hate this game is graphically amazing voice acting is great. The storytelling is great I can see why people are hating on it because of the gut wrenching way they deal with the old characters made me feel sick but its edgy storytelling with a bleak future. I am sorry if it offends you snowflakes. The horror factor is spot on and very entertaining. The fights and AI isI cannot believe the hate this game is graphically amazing voice acting is great.     I can't in good faith give this game a 0/10 because the visuals are drop dead gorgeous, but that's honestly the only positive there is to offer. This game and it's story completely misfired and fails to recognize what millions of players found so special in the original game. The story is terrible and predictable, and the gameplay is even worse.     The main spoilers you may have heard aren’t the worst of it This is depressing and I dissociated very close to the beginning of the game due to the violence.     I have never hated a character before and I despise Abby.
    Also for people looking for LGBT representation... this failed at that too. All there is is suffering and the main message I got from this game around that is that being gay causes it.
    The graphics were great but if I’m honest, that just made everything so much worse.
    I am so glad I had the beginning spoiled for me because I had originally pre-ordered the Ellie edition, I have no idea what that would have done to me mentally, owning 300 dollars worth of stuff from such a terrible game. I would have lost it. As it was I played for free thanks to a friend that gave me their game after they quit at 2 hours in, I still feel like I deserve a refund.    … Expand

    Now for my pointless review.

    Looks great. Great VA.
    Mostly a walking sim
    Terrible story that hurts the first games legacy.

    Characters make descions they wouldn't leading to Joel getting golf clubbed to death by Abby.

    We're supposed to care about Abby and understand why she killed joel while we play as her. No one wanted this. We were all fine with killing the doctor in TLOU and couldn't care about abby. We want to kill the character that kills joel not play as her and beat up ellie as her.

    The story goes from abby wanting revenge to ellie to abby and then ellie.

    They both kill each others friends in the name of revenge. Ellie can't get over Joel's death and leaves Diana to hunt abby knowing she'll lose diana if she makes this choice. She does and doesn't even kill her. All of a sudden she thinks back to joel and apparently he wouldn't want her to kill abby even though we all know he would.

    So abby lives and ellie basically loses everything as diana and her baby leave.

    Tommy also gets shot in the face lives but loses his brother and his wife leaves him.

    The most fun I had was seeing a new character whom I hated get taken out by a clicker.

First of all the leaks, then the fact that it feels like a disjointed interactive movie... And for the love of GOD Joel's death was unnecessary, brutal, and **** over a character that made the game loved in the first place. I'm sorry but the graphics or game play aren't even that good for a story driven game with an ancestor such as the masterpiece that the first game was, to be considered moderately good. It's not a hateful 0 by any way, but it's a well earned 3. Is it my love for the game that's making me drop the score so low? Yes.     Lol at the review bombing. I’m 7 hours in, and this is exactly what i wanted from this game so far, it feels and looks and plays like part 1, only improved in every way. This is exactly what i’ve been waiting for since 2013. If you loved part 1, you will love this.

    LET'S BE HONEST, the reason for the low scores is due to the death of a certain character early on in the game. When it happened, I was devastated. I really was impacted for bad and good. It's a tough pill to swallow. Once you are past it, you realize the story is decent (not as good as the 1st). The gameplay is BETTER. The graphics are BETTER. The sound suspense/horror is BETTER. If anyone ever golfs Ellie, Joel would've killed every last one of them in the whole country. He would've become The Last Of Us. The fact that the story is so depressing to the point that leaves Ellie completely alone is beyond disturbing. Its almost a torture to play the game. I mean, there is nothing wrong making a game with a darker thematic, i say darker because it's actually quite gnarly and sick. I just feel sad for her and. La personaje principal despues de matar todo lo que se cruza en su camino y dijo todo, llegando al momento culmine deTécnicamente el juego es una maravilla. Writing is all over the place, and representation felt forced honestly. While it's good to have groups be represented this game did it too far in a way that it didn't feel right if that makes sense. The post-apocalyptic feeling of the zombie game that was Part 1 is there, but the zombie stuff isn't a major topic like it originally was instead we got a revenge plot that only happens cause the writers threw out Joel's whole character so he could get killed by a Fridge with muscles with a golf club, and Ellie's promise to "kill" the Fridge gets thrown away cause she feels sorry for the Fridge saved 60 bucks thank you xQc.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Playing this game I had high expectations, and despite what the vast majority of user scores will tell you, it was succeeded. This game is all about death, hatred, and above all revenge, and it has a lot to say about these themes.

    Watching Ellie on her never-ending pursuit to avenge Joel and the things she did in order to achieve this, it was to put it simply brutal. Around the halfway point, when Ellie killed Nora who was just trying to protect her friend, I found myself unclear of what side I should be on if any. As for the ending, where Ellie decides to spare Abby even after everything, as much as people say it's anticlimactic, I understood why, and I felt an immense amount of sympathy and love for her as I watched her cry blood-soaked in the ocean.

    In a world where society has little to no traces of civilization left, one can either submit to hatred and violence, or fight it. In this story, we watch Ellie submitting to her anger again and again and again, and seeing her eventually show humanity to Abby who despite the horrific things she did is just trying to save her colleague. It was immensely emotional, but also immensely cathartic. The ending doesn't show what happens to Ellie after, but its an unsaid understanding that the rest of her life will be focused on redemption and acceptance.

    This part 2 is a huge let down. Story is as horrible as other people mentioned. I would give it 1 star for gameplay but -1 star for not listening to disappointed people on social media. Think twice before you buy, they don't deserve your money.

    Although many would agree that the direction Naughty Dog took on the story of The Last of Us Part 2 is bad, they still made a full pledge game with amazing environments and greatly improved upon the original game.     Cons:
    -AI is clunky.
    -Way too many cut scenes in proportion to game play, if I wanted to watch an animated movie, I'd watch some Pixar.
    -Story was very brutal for the sake of being brutal, without really making any sense or having any real resolution, resulting in many hours wasted for me.
    -It sort of reads as a teenagers fan fiction with how it's story, events, and subsequent actions of characters play out.
    -The characters themselves aren't very likable, and it's hard to feel any connection to them.
    -It feels like it sort of drags on because of how poorly it was written, making it a chore to play and to complete.
    -Absolutely no replay-ability because of the story.

    In short, if i had to compare it to other games, it would be a Frankenstein of Death Stranding, Duke Nukem Forever and Alien Isolation. It has good visuals, it took years to develop an outdated and an unlikable story, and has dull game play to pad in-between cut scenes. How they went from a winning formula with the first to a complete dud with the second is a major disappointment, but it happens far too often in video games, television and movies. When you have something that works, maintain the formula, maybe adding a new topping or two for some variation and something new; you don't pull out key ingredients and ham fist in others in hopes they'll sate your customers hunger for what they're used to.

    It's up to you to believe whether or not the critics are being honest, but as for myself and others, i really wish I hadn't have wasted my money, and more so my time on playing this.    … Expand

The end completely incomprehensible, it felt that they wanted to put Abby through our throat forcing us to use her when it is IMPOSSIBLE to feel some kind of empathy for her. Another entertainment studio has shown their true colors that identity politics and forcing a leftist narrative is more important than creating a story that treats its characters with respect and expands the players investment into what is happening.     The first two hours are incredibly boring and have very little game play. The story is just awful and after about 2 hours in, you'll no longer want to finish the game.

    The stupid dodge system has turned the game's fight mechanics into a rhythm game. It sucks. You can't even open a fight with a punch. You have to start with a dodge.

Ellie can take down hundreds of enemies at a time with no sweat off her ass. But she draws the line at pregnant women. With the amount and brutality of the killing she has done would definitely dull those feelings. Why did Ellie let Abby live in the end?. She watched her kill Joel. She has a very big reason to kill Abby! Conscience or not. She won't give a damn! And, the gameplay is a little too scarce. It doesn't feel like you actually play enough of the game. I don't want to watch the game! I want to play it. Disappointing overall and I would not recommend you buy it. And don't get me started on that poorly written sex scene. I swear it has the level of righting as one of those stepbro videos I know a lot of you are watching in an hour.… Expand

That just teaches me that those who grow a heart literally let the bad guy walk. Heck Ellie lost 2 fingers from abby, making her unable to play the guitar Joel left her. This story is such a punch to the face. No, it's more of a blow with a golf club to the head. My revenge lead me down a horrible path but hers still gave her a second chance? None of the way how joel even died made sense. How he was so willing to just be surrounded by all those random people. How tommy gave away the location of their town and offered them supplies. It was all pathetically written and disappointment doesn't begin to cover how I feel towards this game. Sure it looks amazing. But you're polishing a pile of **** No matter how much you try and make it look nice. At the end of the day. It's still a pile of crap you're forced to play with. Why am I giving this a 1 despite the other parts and aspects of the game?     A true masterpiece that will raise the bar and inspire many other games in all aspects of game design, for years to come. Especially in the storytelling department as a lot of AAA games' stories these days tend to be uninspired & lazy at best. Props to Sony for genuinely allowing all of their first party game devs to push boundaries of game design.

I heard about the leaks a while back and was incredibly disappointed to hear about how Naughty Dog decided to control the narrative of the game. I wasn’t quick to judge because leaks can be very misleading. I took it upon myself to watch the gameplay of the game and wait for the actual reviews to come out. No I’m not talking about the reviews that are done by critics, but by actual gamers. People that have actually been proven to know what the people will actually like. Critics can’t be trusted. They are always so out of touch with the community. Naughty Dog ruined this game by killing off Joel in the most silly way possible. Then they try to make you sympathize with the man/woman (I honestly can’t tell) who killed Joel by making you play as her, then you don’t even get to avenge Joel by killing her at the end. She just walks away scratch free. The dialogue doesn’t feel the same and all the character seem literally more stupid. Joel walked into the trap for no reason. Imagine being Naughty Dog and coming up with the plot of the second game and thinking it’s a good idea to make it a revenge story because Joel killed an irrelevant doctor in the last game. They could have just been semi-intelligent and made it about the Fireflies wanting to hunt down Ellie to find the cure. Then Joel and Ellie are on the run instead of them looking for someone like last game.… Expand

    I don't even know how to describe how amazing this game is. The graphics are unmatched. The gameplay is damn-near perfect. Every character and enemy feels like a real person. Acting is spot on, and cutscenes are seamless. This game is a MASTERPIECE.

    Of course, it's good to have a message, if there's anything you want to say. But you can't use movie as the message tool. I think there should be beauty of its own. If you put the message up front and the movie keeps shouting slogans, you shouldn't be like an old cheap propaganda movie.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
