    great graphics and good gameplay but the game is story focused and how can anybody like this story?
    Lame, boring and uninspiring.

    Stop making fake 10/10 review. Everyone can make a bad game even Naughty Dog, just accept it.

    I bought the game despite the leaks, I wanted to see the whole thing before judging but I still felt very disappointed after finishing it, I just rushed through the game and finished it within 20 hours. The leaks were pretty much spot on.

    The character development is really bad, what an awful sequence of the game. In the trailers of the game, they lied about a lot of things. The plot has a lot of holes. The mechanics of the game is the same of the first game no improvement at all.

    Excellent game. The story gripped me. Lots of gritty realism with no holds barred. The negative reviews are unfounded and the result of snowflakes who are unable to deal with death or mature themes.

    You should never have to play 25 hours worth of a game designed to make you feel awful. Sometimes it works for a movie to make you feel uncomfortable, but video games are too lengthy for this to feel like anything more but abject misery.

    The last time I played TLOU1 was two years ago. I can remember many moments from that game clearly. While I was far from an expert player, I greatly enjoyed all four of my play throughs. Apart from simmering annoyance and anger at the characters, moments of face palming and that "spicy" scene I remember little of the game. And I finished it today. It was just a mind numbing barrage of angry characters, senseless and meaningless violence, and intense feelings of betrayal at what Naughty Dog and Sony did to characters I loved. No matter how good the combat might feel from time to time, or how incredibly beautiful some terrain areas are, this game is a disappointment. The first game was all about the story and characters. This game is about revenge. Apparently. Because no one ever questions whether or not the endless stream of dead bodies they leave behind are worth it, no one questions if this is the right path. They just kill, and kill, and kill. Often without reason.
    Joel in the first game was very clear. Fighting is pointless most of the time. If possible, run. In this game Ellie seems to have either forgotten or ignores this advice. There also is no choice in the matter. In a game apparently meant to convey a moral message against violence, you are never given a choice if you want to kill or not. You just do.

    And that tidbit sets the example for the rest of the games characters. If able to kill someone; do so.

    The mountain of dead bodies in this game is at odds with the claim its meant to show how wrong killing people is.

    I could go on and on about a great deal of things, but I won't, other reviews are much clearer and more concise then I ever could be. This game is nothing like the first. It relies not on story and characters, but on boring and dull action, cut scenes with annoying characters, and constant references to things much more interesting than what you're doing at the moment they come up.

    While I rarely tell people to not buy something, as they might enjoy the product more than I did. This time I will say this: Don't buy the game. Its simply not worth the money, what you probably loved about the first game is missing here. Perhaps in a few years when you see a copy sitting somewhere for a few bucks you can not feel cheated. But until then, avoid this game.    … Expand

    The cut-scenes are photo realistic awfulness, who on earth wanted this as a sequel ?.

    The original is a masterpiece, this makes it obvious Sony is the same dead duck that all modern A+ game companies have become, allowing Naughty Dog to make this and putting there name too it. Just sad.

    Unbelievable. As a huge fan of the first game the treatment of the original characters has left me heartbroken. Joel especially. I know it's a dark world out there but I never would have expected the characters to end up like this after all these years. Heartbreaking. If you enjoy this game more power to you but I couldn't have been more disappointed

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gameplay and graphics are really good. The story isn't bad, if the leaks weren't out before release there wouldn't be much critic to the game. Of course, there are reviews 2 hours after release that say the game is terrible, even though they havent played it. After Joel's death, it left me in a limbo feeling. Exploring Seattle was basically an introduction to Dina and Ellie and their relationship. The roles are similar to the first game, where Joel used to tell Ellie stories and Ellie use jokes to lighten the mood, it's now Dina doing that for Ellie and Ellie is giving some background about Joels and Tommys history. In my opinion, Joel's death should have been delayed to a midpoint in the game and not in the beginning, which I believe is why most people are upset about. For they don't want to play as Ellie. Rolling back to what I said about the leaks, it's as if this is happening all over again like it did with game of thrones. The game of thrones situation is a bit different, game of thrones' story continued on without a blueprint, but this game is made by the original story teller. I don't think there would be much of a circlejerk about hating this game if the big scenes in the game was experiencd by people playing it, like a twitch streamer or youtubber. I know I'm gonna receive critic from people I know that hate this game for no reason, but I liked it. I mean what are they to say they do not play solo games anyway. I do hope people eventually realize it's not a bad game.… Expand

    Sad that Sony has made the final installment of this franchise a pos. Loved the first game btw. 95 critic score and 3.3 user score, something doesn’t add up. I did not play and refuse to purchase this garbage. I give this game a zog/10 for the effort though

    if you are like me, then you loved and adored The Last Of Us part 1 (2013) and just like me, would consider yourself to be a hardcore fan that played the entire game a hand full of times while also not only buying it on the ps3 but also the remaster on the ps4. this being said, i was extremely excited for the last of us part 2. however, i do not feel as    Wow... where to begin...

    if you are like me, then you loved and adored The Last Of Us part 1 (2013) and just like me, would consider yourself to be a hardcore fan that played the entire game a hand full of times while also not only buying it on the ps3 but also the remaster on the ps4. this being said, i was extremely excited for the last of us part 2.

    however, i do not feel as though i have been given the last of us part 2. i feel as though i have been given a game which is being carried on the back of its original 2013 masterpieces' success. this being said, i do not want this review to be seen as some other reviews as (this person hates the game just because of the gay characters and other similar character details). my feelings are quite the opposite, as i feel these details do not matter within games, they are just merely extra character details and should not affect if a game is good or not. in fact i loved learning that Ellie was homosexual and experiencing her first love within the last of us 2013 DLC. moving onto my actual issues with the game:

    Joel, a man with such a horrific past of being a bandit, smuggler and un-trusting person in the first game, to the point of only truly starting care for Ellie half way through the first game and especially after her being kidnapped and attacked. for some reason loses all of this in the last of us part 2, giving not only his name away freely (which he knows would be bad in this situation given how many people he has crossed. even Ellie explains this WITHIN the first part of TLOU 2), but allowing himself to be surrounded by a large group of strangers and most importantly allowing the location of their town to be revealed. this is not the Joel i know and is definitely not the man we were given in the first game who as we might remember considered Ellie just 'cargo' for a substantial while and had spent 20+ years surviving this collapse of society and gruesome apocalypse. to simply tear him from the fans who loved him so much for simple sock value and to justify this dumb revenge plot is quite frankly heartbreaking as a fan and is a lazy, poor way to try and kick start a sequel which could have been better.... this is just one of my major issues

    i feel as though to explain all the reasons i dislike, maybe even hate this game, would make such a review too long, so i will simply do a sort/quick rundown and if this review is seen by many or few and is liked i will expand.

    i feel as though they have torn half the soul out of this game in a brutal, unneeded manor.

    trailers were so misleading in putting fans in a safe space of making us believe joel would be in TLOU 2, not just stupid FLASHBACKS!

    the game comes no where close as to developing on the original combat or mechanics apart from a prone movement stance which isnt even combat

    i feel as though no meaningful connections were made between characters to the point of what joel and ellie had and makes me not really care what happens to them. its has if ND never played the original and didnt know that the characters made the first game what it was, along with the main storytelling.

    some parts of the game like the abby sex scene made me feel uncomfortable. not because it was sex but because was it needed?

    i feel as though the only part of the original last of us i have here is the beautiful graphics and world design to remind me im supposed to be playing its successor.

    for someone who told fellow friends not to believe or be fixated on the leaks and to go into the game with and open mind because it would be great. i feel like an idiot. who now would have preferred to have no squeal and was just left with my masterpiece last of us. i doubt i will play this again and do not want a part 3 if this is the type of game i am to expect in the future. save your money, do not buy the game and keep the precious memories of this game franchise while you can.

    Para empezar matar a Joel en las primeras horas de juego fue una parte de la historia que me desgradablo por completo, controlar a Joel por 5 minutos al inicio y luego verle morir golpes de un palo de golf es una parte de la historia que desearia que no hubiese pasado.

    La historia de Ellie me parece muy meh, es la tipica historia de antiheroe vengativo, la historia de Abby tambien fue algo meh, pero me gusto como lograron meternos en su transfondo y el porque de sus acciones y no nos pusieron a un villano meh sin un porque de sus intenciones,

    Ver al final como Ellie se resiste a matar a su objetivo despues de matar a todos sus conocidos, y que esta mujer Abby matara a Joel y a Jesse y casi mate a Tommy y a Dina fue algo que no se nos explica, el final me parecio horrible, pero bueno supongo que con ese final les dara para poder hacer un TLOU 3 y sacar mas dinerito, increible como puede destruir un gran juego, por eso nunca me gustarion secuelas de videojuegos famosos, en fin, espero que Sony y NaughtyDog les valga la arruinar un gran juego sacando una secuela pesima, espero en la 3ra pueda llegar a su punto de redemcion.

    Abby is the most insufferable, self-righteous character in all of video games.

    And Ellie suddenly deciding that "revenge is bad" because of a random flashback, after killing hundreds of random people, is just laughable.

The surprise mechanic that not my cup of tea in term of multiplayer game (that obvious) and single player content for storytelling.

    Let cut to the chase, the last of us part 2 three clear points:
    -Game play is OK and futuristic
    **** and garbage narrative that cringe a lot, don't ever compare part 2 (trash) is better than original the last of us
    -Betrayed the fans base (i'm joel fans btw) (play **** of ton original tlou)

    The graphics, animations and soundtrack of this game earned a lot of my respect. The overall design and mechanics suffered from some issues, but thankfully this wasn't a fail festival like Fallout 4.     I won't join either herd on this take of a hotly debated game. The critics and the audience are both annoying and I've gained a lot more reliable information from playing the game, myself. It is just barely better than adequate on its own and earned all six of my points. But through the lens of nostalgia, I can understand why some users would give it a "3" when comparing it to the prequel and the prequel's DLC.    … Expand

    I tried to play this without any preconceived notions, But, thus far I have to say that the gameplay is smooth the graphics are gorgeous, and no game breaking glitches which is something that is sometimes scarce in the industry. Do you really think a trans person would care about pronouns in a world like this? really? or an extremist group would care about some trans person in an apocalyptic world. Do you think you can disrespect a great smart character like Joel and get away with it? did you really think making us play Abby was a good choice? that we'd sympathize with her? You killed Joel in the most humiliating way possible, a great character died in the stupidest way possible. Joel, the guy that never trusted strangers, and barely trusted anyone, the guy that survived 25 years in that world. is killed by strangers with a golf bat, do you think The Joel Miller would be so casual with armed strangers in the apocalypse? the man that didn't stop for an injured man who turned out to be an enemy is so casual with a group of armed strangers in a small clear space without cover, hell he didn't even seem cautious between them, he told them his name so casually. This game is the biggest disappointment of the century. you kept the narcissistic creep Niel but didn't pursue the actual important people that made The Last Of Us so great, no you let this creep Niel drive them out, just to spam the game with his face, props about him, (self-inserts) and characters that look like him. That creep wanted nothing but to make this game about himself. the characters not only are out of character, but they aren't even logical, it's like the game was written by an alien pretending to be a human. What person sees someone they view as a father being bashed to death and then have their fingers bitten off by that same person that killed your father figure, and then you let them live. so basically she went to get her fingers bitten off and then went back home, really? so she kills Nora but lets Abby go? critics huh? great job deceiving us NaughtyDog, making us believe Joel will help Ellie with her revenge in the trailer and making us believe he's going to have a big role in the game, and then you change everything, this is the last game I buy from Naughty Dog, and I'm getting a refund soon. what a let down that was. redo the game, or pull it from the shelves and don't make a sequel in the first place. fire Neil Druckmann. he's the reason this amazing game is now ruined, he is the guy that shoved his face in the game, just to have sex and spit on Joel's corpse. kinda symbolic. bring back the original crew.
