    Very disappointed from this game. I was expecting this to be as good as the previous game since it was in development for so long. There are just too many problems with it, like what were they thinking when they made this ?
    It's clear the game was made with politics in mind and a lot of focus went there rather than polishing the game's quality but i am not going write about those.

    To keep it short i will just write some of the things that i didn't like at all.

    I didn't like the forced brutal moments of the game that where there just for the sake of having something shocking. I felt like that they exchanged characters value for the shocking moments. There were also some really awkward unnecessary private moments that cheapened the characters value even further.

    I didn't like that unlike the previous game, the drama is way too artificial. The characters just weren't convincing enough, both in writing and voice acting.
    Same with the story of the game. I was expecting to see a lot of moments with our beloved characters from the previous game, now that they have grown wiser with the time, unfortunately that wasn't the case (I can't expand more on this without spoiling things).

    About the sound i will say the soundtrack is not memorable but passable. Voice acting felt a little dry but that may have been due to the script being so stiff and artificial.

    As far as gameplay goes, it wasn't anything revolutionary or new, i will just say it did the job. i just wish there were fewer QTEs, in any case this is a story driven game, and that's where the game didn't deliver.    … Expand

If you want to play an LGBT fantasy game then guess what Last of us 2 is just that! They killed Joel within the first hour then you have to play 15+ hours as the person who killed Joel then on top of that you don't even kill the person who killed Joel. Now we understand completely why the staff quit naughty dog before this game was finished.… Expand

    When it comes to complex storytelling, this is a 10/10. The nerve to deconstruct characters, to even have a queer main character - those are things that rarely happen in AAA Games. And it always comes with a backlash, as you can see right here.

    Do you like only graphics, acceptable gameplay and great animations? Then you will likely be happy/ok with this game.

    If any of the following questions is a yes then avoid this game.
    Do you like good story telling? We start having issues.
    Did you love the original characters of the first game? Then you will be heavily disappointed.
    Do you dislike rape fantasies? Even if they include a character that looks similar to the game director having violent sex with a person of dubious sex that looks like a steroid user?
    Do you dislike a company that tries to censor and get banned youtube channels and twitter accounts because they posted info about their game?

    Considering that one of the main values TLOU was the story, I would recommend avoiding this game since the experience is subpar in that area.    … Expand

    Honestly just really disappointed in this game, if you are here for the game play that is probably the only good thing with it. The storyline has got to be one of the worst I've ever played, I would have rather pre-ordered fallout 76 knowing how bad it is, than play this game.

    A game like the last of us, is all about the story. Which is what made the first game so memorable.
    I dare to say you could’ve just watched a play through of the game on YouTube and it still would’ve had the same effect because the last of us was basically an animated movie where you also had the control of the character which only made it slightly more engaging.
    Think of Last of Us Part 2 as a human being.
    A really really beautiful and good looking human being. Think of the design, gameplay and graphics as the skin and flesh of the game, and the story as the heart and soul of it.
    Now what’s a body without a soul??
    That’s right; a corpse.
    And what do you do with a corpse?? You bury it. Because there’s no bit of life left in an empty shell to help it keep living.
    And that’s exactly the case with TLOU 2.
    It may be ALMOST perfect in other aspects, but as long as the story doesn’t work, none of it is worth it. Much rather it makes it even more disappointing. Because you keep playing the game with a sense of shame and pity about it all the way thinking to yourself “what a great game it COULD HAVE become.”
    I barely finished the game, and as soon as I did, I sold my copy and am never gonna touch it again. It was a painful, torturous journey, that I wouldn’t wish upon my evilest enemy.    … Expand

    Gameplay: Innovative system with enhanced artificial intelligence, jump and dodge system

    Joel dies in a shameful way with a golf club for a character known as Abby (She-Hulk) whose speech is: Stupid old man.

    After that we set out to seek revenge. We killed thousands of people during the entire campaign (including women, men and dogs) in order to find and kill Joel’s killer.

    Naughty Dog lied to fans in that trailer where Joel is shown covering Ellie's mouth and saying: I won't let you do this alone. The truth is that it is Jesse and not Joel, they did that just to make fans buy this game.

    And it is worth remembering that Naughty Dog was censoring youtubers who said something about the leaks and were also censoring on Twitter. Sony and ND have turned off comments and likes on their videos. I would not be surprised if someone tells me that these reviews of these "game sites" and some youtubers were paid    … Expand

    Not all games need a continuation. The Last of Us part II is proof of that.

    PROS: -The graphics are really beautiful. -The gameplay is very close to the first one. For me this is very good. -It is very pleasant to play with Ellie. -The world of the game is very well made. THE MIXED: -Some new characters are ok, I guess. You'll not care much about them, but they are necessary.    Not all games need a continuation. The Last of Us part II is proof of that.

    Gameplay-wise its just the same as its predecessor

    The only downside is the Story.
    Story is what made the Last of Us Game of the Year because of the connection between Ellie and Joel as they go through hardships and adventure and that what builds the meaning of the Title of the game. but here not only they kill character you love in the last game they also pushed you to play the murderer and be sympathetic with them.

    Im so disappointed with the story seeing that scene made me to drop my controller and think if continue the game.... for me that's a bad sign to start the story.

    Now after i completed this game i didnt feel any feelings other than Pure Disappointment and Rage for the Author of this Story.. For me this doesnt exist...

    Its not worth the 100 percent review its getting.... and Mostly it doesnt deserved to be the Game of the Year.    … Expand

    Woah has a game ever pissed away it’s legacy so fast as last of us 2. Loved the first game for the story and hoped that this one would continue in the same vein and improve the gameplay. The gameplay is clunky and the story is just terrible. Avoid at all costs.

If your whole story is a revenge arc... the revenge must occur! Otherwise the entire journey was pointless! What’s the message of this story? It’s okay to kill hundreds of people in a journey for revenge just to let the perpetrator go free with no consequences.. then the hero returns home to nothing. Everyone who cared about her left her to die alone. Great story... not! Stop acting like this is some revolutionary thing naughty dog did.     wha a legit terrible game. Graphics are amazing. Gameplay is fun! The story and narative is I think the worst sequel story I have ever seen. It's actually how sad this game actually is. I hope naughty dog learns from this in there next game because they have wrecked one of the best IP's of all time.

    Pero, al continuar la historia y realizar un cambio radical de protagonista es una pésima idea, tratando de dar la otra mirada del victimario transformado en víctima. Teniendo la oportunidad y el material que por medio de tal venganza puedes enfrentar 4 facciones distintas, que serían los aliados de la villa, los lobos, los clikers y los infectados. Creando alianzas, traiciones, enemigos, engaños, parias como Ely y su inmunidad.

    Algo muy potente en que trabajar y entregar distintas miradas.

    Pero no, se fueron en una filosofía barata tratando de expandir un universo.

    Lo que se rescata es la jugabilidad que aveces medió tediosa por lo repetitivo en diversos escenarios si era estresante en niveles difíciles cuando se volvía una fiesta de disparos, desmembramientos, todo unido a que debes estar atento a que no te ataque por algún punto ciego.

    Cambiaría gran parte de la historia. Sobre todo al hermano de Joel que le disparan a quema ropa y sigue vivo (por qué no mostraron la sangrienta venganza del hermano de Joel) Eso pasa cuando no ven más aya de lo evidente.    … Expand

    Games are so subjective. I love this, but others won’t. You have to play it for yourself. For what it’s worth, the story is a tough watch, but then it’s not meant to be comfortable. I enjoy the game play and the environment is amazing. I can’t fault this game.

People watch the Super Bowl to gather with friends and family in the expectation of an amazing, enthusiastic, snack-filled night. They play Chess, Go, Magic the Gathering, all in the hope to get better at the game and to have fun with their hobby, hopeful of experiencing new and pleasant situations, peers, and future friends. They dig out their SNES, their Genesis, or their PlayStation knowing they will be able to experience the nostalgic satisfaction and enjoyment they grew up with years ago. That is the purpose of a game, any game, to make you enjoy yourself and, if you are a direct participant, to strive to improve. The Last of Us Part II does none of this. It entices you with the hope of the same engaging story and characters of its predecessor, dangling the bait for you to draw ever, ever closer. Then, once you have let your guard down and invited this game to take over you for the night, week, month, however long you take, it CRUSHES your leg in the bear trap. It leaves you confused, hurt, angry, unsatisfied; feelings of betrayal swarm around you. But none of this is directed at the characters in the game, the world created, or even the story itself. After all, can we lay down the sins of the father upon his child? The creators of this game are the ones to blame. Lying to us in marketing and asking us to accept their very own, unlikeable, poorly fleshed out "New Generation" of characters as the heroes of this story. Our heroes our portrayed as the monsters, when we went through the whole first game, living with them and understanding the reasoning behind their actions. This game insists none of that matters. Not the characters, not their logic, not their motives, their relationships, their own moral dilemmas. The game paints it all as "bad" and delivers a child's perspective of pain and struggle, hurt and revenge, acceptance and reconciliation. A simple "hurting people is bad" message with nothing more than torture porn to sandwich it. Jesus Christ taught this message over two thousands years ago, but I believe I can safely assess that this game's way of delivering it won't last 1/400th of that time. In terms of the new genre, "movie games", The Last of Us Part II best falls under the category of a snuff film, and a poorly thought out one at that. Characters are brought in obtrusively from stage left, only to be quickly rushed away towards stage right, with little to no substantial weight, leaving the whole of the story far, far less meaningful than its individual parts. Characters' deaths and struggles and triumphs are meant to invoke reactions that NaughtyDog has neither earned, nor deserved, but heavily expects the player to give up for free. If you have read this far, you are well aware that I have given as much thought into expounding upon detail as NaughtyDog has given. For the most part, the game plays one to one with the 2013 original, and in those seven years and almost two console generations, the only thing new is more dazzlingly, yet vapid set pieces (though every game gets a few points from me if it includes snow) and the ability to mount up on a horse, as though your character is the modern day cowboy of the untamed West, which you are not. Zombies and their infectious spores are no longer the underlying villain of the world, which strikes as odd considering this is a zombie game. Stories with a force of nature as the villain usually excel when showing the human condition at its most vulnerable, yet most stubborn. A yin-yang dilemma between the hopelessness of the situation and the inability of man to just give up. When a secondary, human antagonist is brought into the mix it is best utilized when it juxtaposes nature's blunt force attack with an equally deadly (if properly written) cleverness. It shows that same stubbornness audiences root for, twisted and defiled into man's worse. It helps exalt the hero's victory over this immoral wickedness by showing that, though their base abilities may be equalized into a stalemate, good will always prevail over evil. Because that's the hope we have when we play games, watch movies, tell and retell stories. That we can always get back up and try again no matter how many times we fail or are defeated. The Last of Us Part II fails to instill this hope in its players, neither at the start of the game, nor by the end of it. We are simply told nothing we do will matter, no goal we set out for is meaningful, and, in the darkest hour, our lives and the will to preserve them are in vain. Though this is not the truth, NaughtyDog deems it fit that we believe this. The first game, upheld as a masterpiece almost a decade later, rings just a slight bit more hollow after experiencing its successor.… Expand

    The only reason I give this a 2 rather than a 1 is to at least credit the talented programmers, artists, QA testers, and actors who worked on this game.

    I know a lot has been said about the political agenda but in this game you can really feel the tortured lengths they took to pound the player, the customer, into submission. I suspected paying money for this was a mistake before I started and it was worse than my expectations. First run went 12 hours in on survivor, wasn't easy but after a few deaths i got to the aquarium. I had half a section left of health so pretty low, I go through the vent and then get stuck in an infinite dog headshot loop

If you want to have diverse characters that is fine but don't make there diversity there character ark. Take Finn for example he is a black male but star wars doesn't make that his only character trait.
