    A horribly written "story" overfilled with SJW ideas and propaganda.
    Gameplay is boryng, storyline is horrible, multiplayer from the first part is just gone. This game has lost everything good it had in the first part and was turned into a propaganda tool. I, as a fan of tlou , feel violated.

    Boiler plate game-play. Not disappointing, but nothing to write home about. Not much more to say. You wont find it difficult, but you wont' be blown away either.

    Visuals swing wildly between truly breathtaking environments to horrendous abominations with the character models / Mocap. We might have actually found the lowest point of the uncanny valley here. Quite an achievement, being    Boiler plate game-play. Not disappointing, but nothing to write home about. Not much more to say. You wont find it difficult, but you wont' be blown away either.

Technically it's all very well put together it's just so much more unsettling - than Mass Effect Andromeda.

    But the story is where we really struggle. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but the story is terrible. Every beat of this story reads like someone who wants to prove what a big clever boy they are. It's a basic "If you seek revenge dig two graves" story, filtered though the eyes of someone who thinks they have something clever or original to say. They don't. They really, really don't.

    You know when a writer wants to prove that their story has depth, so they fill it with pointless unnecessary character death because "Death makes it deep!" (Think "Xmen The Last Stand"). That is the closest thing to an original idea in this story. It's just one long slog through misery porn because someone never learned there are other was to have a real emotional moment in a story.

    This is not Aeris' death in FFVII.

    This is not Johns death at the end of RDR

    This is Luigi coming up to Mario and saying "Mario, I have-a the AIDS" and Mario looking direct into the camera and saying "Mama Mia! AIDS is-a Bad!" while a single tear roles down his cheek.

    The writers think they're saying something important or unique about revenge, but I can't hear it over the sound of their own fart sniffing.

    Sorry to harp on about the story, but I cannot emphasise enough the shallow cynical trash this story is. It actively lessens the story of all other Naughty Dog games. Jak and Daxter is a worse game now for being connected to the company that made TLOU2.

    This games gets 1 point from me because there has been some real talent involved in some elements of the game (Again, the environments are beautiful) but for the rest of this game? I deeply regret that I had to spend my own money on this game.    … Expand

    I knew a bit of the story from the leaks and tried to play it with an open mind but the story of this game is more akin with a bad fan fiction then a professional written story. I didn't love the first game either but it was worth a replay every now and again, this however is not.     Los gráficos muy bien logrados, la jugabilidad es impecable y la escenografía me agrada. La narrativa es lamentable, el concepto es estúpido y la causa inverosímil, incluso un aficionado podría escribir una historia adecuada. El final simplemente patético y nada satisfactorio.

But this game is amazing and yeah there's nothing new really it's extremely smart in its story telling...     Since I did not watch any leaks, I obviously didn't know what to expect. The game feels the same way you would expect a The Last Of Us game to feel. The soundtrack is great and gives the perfect atmosphere. On the highest difficulty the game can be challenging at some points, but it could be harder for my liking. Also, I actually liked the story. The second game manages to undo all of the hard work of the first game, betray fans with effectively a bait-and-switch and flies headlong into the cement below the heights of the original with it's abject failure in so many areas. But last of us 2 didn't do anything which works in the first one. The gameplay is just extended and repetitive nothing new in level design which can give players a unique experience. there are games which can give the player a better stealth experience and the same for shooter games too. Speaking about narration it is soo bad that the makers didn't understand what to do with their characters there are a lot of plot holes There are certain events where I didn't want to go beyond that.
    Final Verdict: The Last of Us Part 2 is not a masterpiece but just a shallow uninspired mediocre game made for only so-called game reviewers to play. Careful when you are buying. That's all!    … Expand

    This is just a disaster. I've waited for 7 years and sadly found that my favorite character was killed in the very early stage in part 2. You've built a great game 7 years ago. And now you totally destroyed it.

    After 10 years of waiting for the 2nd part I never thought they would manage to screw the story up. Gameplay is old and past its time. The grafics are nice but that's it.     Incredibly crafted both in visuals and gameplay, with truthful and beautiful performances, and a storyline that pays off the themes and questions raised by the previous game. It's a game about hate, and whilst it might not be giving you what you want the characters to have, it is a bold vision executed by the creators to give a clear message: hate will destroy you.

    The gameplay and mechanics are largely unchanged from the 1st installment being serviceable but basic.
    This wasn't as much of an issue then because the 1st was carried by the strength of its narrative but there's no such redeeming quality here.
    The leaks were true and there are as badd as purported.

    Game looks great, but that is the only thing the game has to offer for you if you enjoyed the last of us story.

    Story 4/10 - None lovable characters.
    Game-play - 6/10 Story killed the game-played for me.
    Graphics - 8/10 beautiful scenes.
    Replay-ability - NONE.

    Overall Score - 4/10 - would give away my copy of "Last of us 2" away for free, or just burn it.

    If you were a fan of the first game then stay away from this part. The story feels really half assed, controls feel clunkier somehow. Enemy AI is basic graphics are ok. Too much shoehorning in this game. It's just not worth it

I've been waiting for this game for 7 years words can't describe how excited I was the first is my favourite game and within 2 hours they completely destroyed the build up, the characters and the story if joel died in any other way i would've been fine with it after building up ellie and Joel's relationship it ends after an argument she watches him die hes unable to help her for all he knew they were going to kill his brother and daughter figure next this is complete bs such a waste if money and after all that she let's his killer go? After killing hundreds of people to get to Abbie and she just lets her go? Not to mention we have to play as her! The person that killed the most important character and try to make us feel sorry for her also the gameplay is boring I've wasted hours just walking around and talking to side characters no one cares about and ellie is left without joel and cant even play guitar because she has fingers missing screw naughty dog they destroyed this franchise… Expand

    Amazing game with good story. Characters design as always great. Naughty dog never disappoints. There are only 4 games in this year that deserve to be called the game of the year, tlou2 is one of them. I'd love to play part 3, and I wait for multiplayer (in the first part was wonderful)

The first game gave me some powerful feelings, some great detail and a lot of thought went into the story and gameplay. Unfortunately in the 2nd game, they only managed to keep the details, the graphics and a few little bits that managed to impress me and others. This game shows the playstation and what it can do, but unfortunately story wise...it'll p*ss you off. Without giving any main plot away you spend some of the game chasing someone to kill. To which when it comes to killing them...you don't. You basically go on a long killing spree and then the person who caused you to go on the spree you keep alive. On top of that the story feels like it doesn't have much of an impact like the 1st game did. The game is still fun, and beautiful to play. But for me and many others, naughty dog really ruined it story wise. I'm going to leave it out there that a DLC will probably happen. But I wouldn't say the game is the worst, nor do I think it's the best. But that's my opinion and you have to think about your opinion first.… Expand

This game isn't recommended for kids, but for teens or adults, it's a good choice, which contains blood, mature speech and some crime scenes.

    The game makes you mad when Joel dies and it is how they want you to be when you play the rest of the game: "MAD". Yes it sucks that you can't play him and a lot of the frustrations comes from the fact that there is no revenge. Ellie realises when fighting her that she doesn't feel better hurting her so she let her go... That sucks but that's how she feels and killing Abby would only make you more happy but probably not Ellie.    … Expand

    The game is incredible and it will certainly be the game of the year, incredible graphics, awesome soundtrack and every minute played you are more anxious about what will happen to the characters but all this is lost by some ignorant "fans" who prefer to take to the personal side based on your political beliefs instead of analyzing the game with a critical eye when it comes to the game!

I just don't want to play anylonger and I won't finish it. Only thing i can compare this wrecktrain to would be if wesymir, triss, geralt, yennerfer died in first 3 hours then you had co continue with Ciri? this game is a joke storywise.     TLOU1 was my favourite game ever. This "game" is an insult to the memory of the first game and is extremely poorly written. Decent enough gameplay but completely butchered by a shocking, nonsensical story riddled with plot holes. To say I was disappointed is a massive understatement.

Unfortunately, when you have a character bludgeon another character's father figure with a golf club alongside a group of men, you do not expect that character to then take that mob leader off of a cross, to then offer them an honorable duel. What you would expect to happen is that mob leader getting a front row seat to the most important person in their life being shanked by a vengeful girl who lost a father figure.

    The Gameplay is spectacular. The music and the world you move through is truly wonderful. But I can't enjoy this story. I can't feel anything for any of the characters. Not even Ellie or Joel. Such a disappointment.. I was hoping this game would be at least what the first game lived up to be. But you can't have everything in this life. 2020 can F*** off. Sorry for my poor English.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is graphically stunning. However, the story is lackluster and frustrating. The actual game play without the story or the graphics is good, but nothing incredibly memorable.

    That being said the lighting, environmental details like snow falling off trees or keeping snow prints, the facial expressions during stealth take-downs, and the overall graphics were some of the best I've ever seen. Credit must be given when due.

    Unfortunately for me, the level of importance is weighted in order from story, to game play, to graphics. Beautiful games are nice, but the story is what captivates me and keeps me invested. The game play makes living the story or fun. And this one just fell short of my mark I was hoping for story wise, a lot.

    Specifically my irk with the story was the Chaotic and unorganized nature of feeling. Getting rid of a beloved character in Joel without a real sense of ability to bask in my efforts left me feeling as annoyed as Mass effect 3's original ending. Not to mention the fact that we don't even get revenge on Abby! I'm forced to play the a character that kills one of my favorite characters and then I hate her and get no satisfaction option? What is this Game of Thrones Season 8? The only silver lining was bringing in Dina for a love interest as well comedic relief between her and Ellie but she couldn't fill the hole from an entire prior game by herself or make up for this hogwash of a story.    … Expand

It made absolutely no sense to kill him off immediately when they could have had a very heart warming scene towards the middle-endish of the game. Do some research before you buy. As a long time fan of the original Last of Us game, I was excited to delve into the game. I was without a doubt hyped. The shocking death of Joel was something that got me angry, even making me want to put the game down. But as I kept playing I realized why Naughty Dog decided to do this bold move. Sure Joel died in a very bad manner but the point of this was to make us relate to Ellie more than ever. The whole theme of this plot is vengeance and the death of Joel not only instilled the feeling of revenge in Ellie but also in the hearts of many long time fans. Playing as Ellie on her quest to avenge Joel by bringing his killers to justice was one of the most gruesome and violent things I have had to see. But I really enjoyed it. The combat, stealth, movement and exploration feeling absolutely amazing and have set the bar for how sequels should build on what they had in their original game. During the beginning while I was playing as Ellie I really believed that this was going to be one of my favorite games ever, going as far as saying that it was better than the original at this point. But all these thoughts began to escape my mind as the game forced me to play as Abby, Joel’s killer, for a very elongated time of the game. WE THE FANS DO NOT WANT TO PLAY AS ABBY NAUGHTY DOG. Playing as Abby and seeing how evil she really was made me slowly begin to dislike the game and get more angry at Naughty Dog for making such a ridiculous decision, but if I’m being completely honest, that was pretty much my biggest gripe with The Last of Us Part 2. I enjoyed every other moment I experienced whilst playing as Ellie. Naughty Dog had the potential to make this game one of the best of all time. There were glimpses of this in the flashbacks Ellie had with Joel and in the sections of Seattle where you played as Ellie, but ultimately what kept this game from pleasing fans and becoming one of the greats for many people’s eyes was its writing and story decisions. Playing as Abby dropped my score down because it was something that I did not enjoy at all. We see all the evil things Abby does but the game tries to sway our view of her by showing how she interacts with her friends. This comes of as infuriating to me and is a result of bad writing. It’s hard for me to decided whether or not to recommend this game to a long time Last of Us fan because of how high it’s highs are and how low it’s lows get.… Expand

    They took everything that made the first game good and left us with this. The whole game felt like someone shoving SJW agenda down my throat.
    The world is beautiful, It gameplay is fun but repetitive but it's one of the worst stories I have ever experienced.

    If you were a huge fan of The Last of Us one then I would skip this, treat as the ending from that game was the end because the sequel doesn't do justice to the first one.

    the breathtaking graphics 10/10 the facial animations are incredibly well done ultra realistic 10/10.
    excellent lasts 30 hours 10/10 and a perfectly realized scenario 10/10 short a masterpiece.

    The gameplay has not changed compared to the first (which was already technically outdated in 2013).
    A tasteless story and an obsolete and predictable atmosphere.
    Totally forced LGBT propaganda in addition to being unrealistic dubbing of a transexual character by a woman when the voice is very different in reality.

    Чтобы понять почему критики ставят такие оценки взгляните на пресс-киты (специальные издания) которые им высылают до релиза игры. Они намного круче коллекционок, и высылаются им бесплатно, вот и не подкуп ли это? В данном случае были бесплатно выданы, игра, премиум наушники сони стилизированные под игру, и стилизированный дуалшок. Если бы им высылали обычные цифровые стандартные версии не было бы таких оценок.

Y’all should’ve known Joel was gonna die. Just because a game didn’t go the way y’all wanted, doesn’t make it a bad game! The graphics are amazing, the story was amazing. I love it!     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
