One of the worst games i have ever witnessed.They ruined the characters of the first game, made a horrible, hated character playable for diversity reasons killed a beloved character with a horrible way in the first few hours of gameplay and in the end we have a game about revenge but you decide the last minutes 'Mehhhh revenge don t worth it even if you ate my fingers hannibal and killed my father figure ' plus THAT SEX SCENE.

By killing Joel, the main character of the first installment, the game shows that revenge for unforgivable behavior will lead to revenge. But as time goes by in the second half, Abby is forced to play, and by forcing the player to inject political correctness into the player, the player's interest is all gone, and the latter and the ending give the user a great disgust. Naughty Dog's big meaning of revenge is not to avenge itself because it gives birth to revenge, must have been thought that after the protagonist kills all the vengeful friends of his opponent, he only saves them.     TLOU made me remember why I loved games and gaming.

    Alternatively, TLOU2 is an outdated idea carried over from when the game was announced in December of 2016 and no doubt the agendas that were being heavily pushed in 2015 and on. The difference is, while this game was being made, we've seen people are fed up with being talked down to and told what to like and if you don't like it,    TLOU made me remember why I loved games and gaming.

It was too late for their garbage rhetoric to change and/or Druckmann was in it for the end game. Although, ND and Sony no doubt still want to turn a profit, so they lied and connived this b.s. game and hid stuff and changed things for trailers to sucker in the old fans. Good on you, you suckered a lot of fans. But in the long run, will it really be worth it?
    I'll NEVER buy a ND game again. I won't be buying a PS5. I won't ever buy another Sony product in general, because they attacked youtubers livelihood and during a pandemic of all times!! That's some bad will you can never erase.
    And if this is one of the "exclusives" on PS, WGAF!?
    I'm only annoyed I'll lose all my GTA V progress and hundreds of dollars on megalodon cards I've bought. MY PS Plus membership ends at the end of this year and that's when I'll say goodbye to Playstation. I'm disgusted with you as a company. The game was bad enough, but I could have wrote it off to Druckmann and maybe still boycotted ND. But after what Sony pulled on behalf of this **** game, I'm out! And unlike Ellie, I believe in 2 eyes for an eye and then I'll cut your throat!

    I still say Druckmann leaked this himself because after firing testers and going home and looking at his Manny face in the mirror, he realized how epicly he f'ed up and was going to have to answer for it shortly. He couldn't keep delaying the game for no reason, so he leaked it. Figured he could hide behind the umbrella of anyone who doesn't like this game is an "-ist" or a "-phobe", but when people weren't buying that tired b.s. argument, he had no recourse and couldn't be the martyr he wanted to be.

    I also believe his goal was to release this Father's Day weekend. Down with the patriarchy and the toxic white males and at the hands of their own tool of "privilege", a golf club.     Espere con ansias este juego jugue la primera parte hace 2 años pero de igual forma es muy bueno, pero matar repentinamente al protagonista del juego en media hora es muy muy Tonto, quiero decir como Joel siendo un Veterano en la supervivencia confía junto a Tommy en un grupo de desconocidos para llegar y decir sus nombres como si nada, desde el primer momento se sentía la tensión de que no era bueno. Además de que te hacen jugar con el Asesino de un personaje importante y hacerte luchar contra el protagonista es demasiado ridículo, sobre todo la historia es muy mala y aburrida ( me divertí mucho más en los flashbacks de ellie que en todo el juego, no es broma.)entiendo el mensaje de que la venganza es mala, pero amigo! De eso se trata el juego y de haber sido así por que asesinar a joel? Y hacerte recorrer medio mapa con Ellie asesinando cientos de personas para quea al final dejes a nuestro objetivo escapar como si nada. _. Estamos hablando de la persona que que Asesino a tu padre, tu tío, tu amigo y casi asesino a tu novia embarazada y que te arranque los dedos cuando tu pasatiempo es tocar guitarra . _. Estamos hablando de la persona que hizo el miedo de Ellie realidad, quedarse sola , ya que hasta Dina se fue de la casa con su hijo, como es posible esto? , sinceramente los flashbacks del juego fueron lo mejor sin duda, además de que me hicieron llorar al estar más tiempo con Joel como un padre divirtiéndose junto a Ellie. Truly a horrible direction to go with the story and pacing of the game, you have effectively spit in the faces of your audience and on a beloved character. If you want to kill a character like Joel you have to earn it with your storytelling. The way that it is done here is completely ineffective. If you want to introduce a new character that's fine, but don't have the new character kill a fan-favorite character from the first game in the first two hours of the game with no background on who the person is and why she wants to kill him. This cannot be done after the fact it's not clever, it's lazy writing.
    Furthermore, to force the audience to play as the new character after an event like this eliminates all motivation (for me at least) to continue playing your game. I will be refunding this as soon as possible. Shame on you Neil Druckmann and shame on you Naughtydog for allowing a dumpster fire like this to come to market after such a long wait and at a $60 price tag.    … Expand

    Don't listen to all the idiots that are posting 0/10 on here. I bet 90% of the haven't even played the game. Yeah some of the story stuff is kinda dissepointing but the gameplay and the mechanics i amazing ! My real score so far would be a 8.5 / 10 but giving it a 10 because I want the meta score to go up

    solid game, a lot of fun, most of these "reviews" however need to be deleted and future 'reviews' made by angry neck beard man-children over being forced to deal with the fact lgbt folks exist even in video games need to be banned from posting since they have shown that they are incapable of being mature and are just review bombing this game.

The first 4 hours without stopping everything was fine. All the myths about the PlayStation noise have been confirmed, but it is overlaid by the sound from the TV. But the voice acting and soundtrack do not even allow you to remember this. Great story, graphics and interface. As for the promotion of homosexuality, it's even interesting to watch. Nowhere else in the games I've played has it been like this. And Dina has a very nice voice. In General the game is great… Expand

It's hard to relate yourself to the characters, which your have no information about at all. There's not enough buildup to make players understand what's going on. Some decent, deep and really meaningful character conversations completely ruined by it's placing. Making it seem unnecessary and even ridiculous. Like a different parts of unconnected narrative shuffled and randomly put together. It feels weird. And that twist for a twist middle game part.. Maybe it would be better to change it vice-versa and start your game with that "twist". Wrap it differently. It would've made more sense in that case.

    It does not matter what Neil Druckmann intended to say, it's what he did. And it seems like a spit in the face of all the fans of the fist game, and even the newer ones. Simply thinking that people won't get the more subtle and realistic approach to storytelling does not itself make it true. Don't treat your audience like idiots. Don't destroy your own characters in a stupid ways, just cause you don't like them or they don't fit your new "brilliant story".

    And that leads us to gameplay, which were "significantly improved since the first game". But it's exactly the same. Sometimes it feels like endless walking simulator with looting and repetitive fights. There's really nothing more to say about. Cope that with bad storytelling and forced character building, and it almost feels like fillers, just to get the important message to "ignorant crowd". But there's no message. Nothing to make conclusion of. Nothing to change your mind. Just some scenes that intended to be shocking one, but again, with all said above it just seems like a bunch of nonsense.

    The only things that shines in that game is scenery, animations and characters look. Beautiful landscapes, good visual design. Graphics seems good, though it's mostly art style. No really big technical leaps or something outstanding. It's still blurry and grainy, but has decent lights, overall look quality and maintains 30 fps almost everywhere, which is rare for most of the console games. Seems that the team knows how to work with provided resources.

    With all that said, i won't recommend this game for entertainment nor for developing your point of view. It's kinda sad that so many hard work of talented people could be ruined by one persons vision. At least it did for me.

    TL/DR:
    So, what do we have in the end? Poor storytelling, bad twists, lack of character motivation, and their bad development. Weird resentment to the first game and it's values. Claiming to have a message, but instead providing childish, hysterical, flat and oversimplified representation of modern world view. Beautiful scenery and design. Good sound. Ok graphics, good characters visuals, animations and nice console performance.    … Expand

I have replayed the game nearly 20 times, and sometimes when I'm bored I'll just replay random chapters. I've watched, and rewatched, Youtube playthroughs. That's how much I love it. Joel and Ellie are my favorite characters in any video game. So when the second game was announced, you can imagine how excited I was. When the first trailer was released, you can imagine how excited I was. With each step closer to the release, my anticipation grew. I preordered the special edition, prepared to spend $200 on this game. THAT is how much I love TLoU. When the leaks first surfaced, I put my foot down and refused to look. Naughty Dog created Uncharted and TLoU, my favorite video games EVER. I refused to doubt them. A week or so passed, and I'd successfully avoided spoilers. Then I saw it. Stupidly, I scrolled through a comment section, and my eyes caught on the words: "Joel dies". My heart sank and I immediately kept scrolling, trying to convince myself that I hadn't seen it, that it was probably fake anyway, that I could simply move past it. But here's the thing... when I say Joel and Ellie are my favorite characters, the emphasis is on Joel. I. Love. Joel. So naturally, my imagination started racing. "Do I want to spend $200 on the game if Joel dies?" So I took the leap. And I will forever be grateful that I did. Within 2 minutes of reading the leaks I was crying, cancelling my preorder and unable to fall asleep that night. I cannot describe to you the heartbreak and rage that I felt at discovering what would happen to my beloved characters. That was weeks ago, and I've since cooled down. Before this game was even released, I mourned for Joel, went through the stages of grief. So now, at the time of release, I'm no longer raging - I'm just disappointed. Now I've been watching playthroughs, and the graphics are as beautiful as expected. I live in Seattle, and even THAT isn't enough to get me to buy this game. Do you know how excited I was, when I first heard the game would be in my home city?! The idea of exploring Seattle with Joel and Ellie was MINDBLOWING. Now, it's an afterthought. Exploring Seattle within this graphically stunning video game isn't enough. I will not ever be purchasing this game. I will never even buy it used. Now let me explain why.

    I believe in the freedom to create whatever art you want to create. I, however, am also free to despise that art. And I do. If the story was true to the characters and felt honest, things would be different. But it's not, so here we are. They destroy the very foundation of the characters that we love. If you think for one second that Joel Miller would trust a group of strangers enough to follow them into a closed space, and let his guard down enough to give his real name then you DO NOT KNOW JOEL. End of story. If you think for one second that Joel wouldn't have pulled out his gun after being shot in the leg, you DO NOT KNOW JOEL. Joel, fundamentally as a character, at his core, would never follow a group of strangers when he's completely outnumbered and knows that he has a bad reputation. Because of this, his entire death scene loses all credibility.

    Let me be clear and say that I'm fine with Joel dying. His death could have been a devastating, beautifully done moment. Instead, it's fundamentally untrue to his character and only serves as shock value. Instead of inspiring the player, it leaves you with nothing but bitterness and coldness - toward the game itself. I've watched so many people become distant, cold, bitter, uninterested, and detached, during and after the death. I don't believe Joel would have EVER allowed himself to be in that position, therefore the entire scene feels empty, untrue, and forced. Joel is a survivor.

    Now since I have limited characters, I will skip to the end. Throughout the game you/Ellie kill thousands of people. And then suddenly, once you get to Abby, the end goal of the entire storyline... you get... nothing. Suddenly, after killing so many people, this one kill isn't worth it. Suddenly, killing gets you nowhere and shame on us for killing all those people just to kill Abby. Ellie is sad, revenge got her nowhere, it didn't bring Joel back and so on and so on. Abby, the ONE person in the game who successfully got her revenge, disappears into the sunset. Newsflash, Naughty Dog: WE KNOW KILLING IS BAD. KILLING BAD. WE KNOW. Guess what: IT'S A VIDEO GAME. You go through these games, generally, defeating enemies. Usually, by killing them. That's why we upgrade weapons, build our arsenals. It's at the core of these types of video games. So for you to use the boss battle to prove a point about "killing bad. Ellie realizes now. Not before, but now." Is laughable. Any player investment that survived Joel's death is killed off for good with an unsatisfying, anticlimactic ending. In the end, it was all for nothing.    … Expand

    El gran problema es la manera en la que nos cuentan la historia, que es por lo que se suele comprar el juego, y en mi caso, aunque no lo he llegado a comprar por muchas razones, si tuviera que puntuar diferentes aspectos del juego, serían los siguientes:

    - Historia: 3/10. Por favor, qué cambien al guionista de Abby. Es un personaje que aunque su intención no sea mala del todo, si no hubiera sabido que hizo que se enfadase, prácticamente ni la reconocería. - Gráficos: 8/10. Desde luego, se ve bastante mejor que el primer juego, y se nota el salto gráfico de un juego al otro. La iluminación, el ambiente...
    - Jugabilidad: 9/10. Hay cosas que si que se podrían mejorar en el juego, pero aún así, bastante buena jugabilidad. Y eso de qué haya bastante por ver, abre bastantes posibilidades, ya que es prácticamente un mundo en el que puedes ir directamente al camino principal, o ir poco a poco, mirando otros edificios. Y lo de poder romper vitrinas, y cristales para recoger cosas de los coches, una maravilla. RECOMENDACIÓN PARA UNA TERCERA PARTE: Por so leéis esta crítica, que lo dudo, estaría bastante bien que si encuentras comida, pero tienes la barra de salud llena, que se pudiera guardar en tu mochila, para poder tomarlo más tarde, algo así como un botiquín, pero sería comida.    … Expand

The Last Of Us Part 2 turned strong, smart, and confident beloved characters into weak, clueless, insecure, and plain gullible side characters. This shift from “The Last Of Us” to “Part 2” in character development was made in order to fit the story Naughty DogI love “The Last Of Us” but I have never been so disappointed in a continuation of a great story except the new Star Wars trilogy. The Last Of Us Part 2 turned strong, smart, and confident beloved characters into weak, clueless, insecure, and plain gullible side characters. This shift from “The Last Of Us” to “Part 2” in character development was made in order to fit the story Naughty Dog set up to appease the current generations “Woke”, “Cancel”, and “edgy” culture. I am rating this a 0 due to the fact that “graphics” do not make a great game but a story does and this game does not even fall into the “it’s okay” category.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hubris. It's hubris really. ND and especially Neil Druckmann and his writers dropped the ball on this one. The game is a technical masterpiece, graphics and gameplay are phenomenal. However the story is messy, and crumbles under the weight of the aforementioned hubris. ND genuinely expects you to see this story from all sides, even sympathise with Abby and her her motives for revenge.
    Oh, and Abby just happens to find the one person in the world she's looking for while being chased by a horde of infected and then just so happens to convince Joel and Tommy to come back to her site where she has people. As if survivors like Joel or Tommy would ever trust random woman with a gun to take them back to a group of strangers.
    Again, it's hubris. ND's unrestricted ego has really hurt this games potential because it must be said from a technical standpoint it's a masterpiece. These 0 ratings need to be removed because its obviously not from people who have played the game and just want to trash it. Narratively, this was a dud, it happens. Every game company misses the mark sometimes it just hurts that much more when one as talented as ND does it. I loved Joel's character, I loved his motives and his personal redemptive arc. His closure and new parental relationship with this girl called Ellie who saved him as much as he did her.
    TLOU2 feels like it tries to undermine what Joel did in one and almost paint him as a villain, completely ignoring at every turn that the fireflies were going to murder a teenage girl just for hope at a cure. That price was to high for Joel because he'd already lost one daughter, he couldn't lose another and did what any parent would. He saved her.
    There is definitely an SJW agenda in this game (mostly female characters in the forefront) and this is purely down to Neil Druckmann and his SJW liberal views as well as his affiliation with the human trashcan that is Anita Sarkesian. Honestly, if I were ND I'd look at getting a new director in for the next IP.    … Expand

The problem with this game is that Naughty Dog tries catering towards the LGBTQ community and abandoning it's core values and fans that made this first part so great. I will start with the good aspects. The graphics are unmatched, the best the PS4 has to offer. The AI, the choreography are top notch. The gameplay is very enjoyable. For these aspects I will give it a 4/10. Sadly TLOU2 is a story based game which means it needs a good story for it to succeed. Unfortunately this is where the game loses it's 6 points.

    The game starts up just fine, revealing new characters and trying to make them familiar to us.One of those new characters is a transexual woman called Abby. The character development for this character is quite bad. It is a character we know nothing about and once you reach the middle of the game, this character kills Joel because he killed his father in the first part. Thus gamers would expect that we will hunt this Abby down to take revenge for Joel. Instead of this, we get to play as the killer of Joel( Joel the beloved character to the fans that had build a strong bond with because of the first game.) trying to kill the other beloved character for all fans, Ellie. In other words Naughty Dog **** all over the feelings that were developed by fans via the first game, the groundworks that made TLOU 1 one of the most loved games ever. And this happens because for some strange reason the company/developers think that it is a good idea to get a favorable view by the LGBTQ minorities and completely ignore their base fans that made Naughty Dog the company it is today. All in all this game had the chance to become the best Playstation game ever, but some vain ideologies made it into the greatest disaster of the current generation. It's a shame.    … Expand

I had to force myself to finish the game since I wasted so much money in the buying the collector's edition. The story itself wasn't shocking. What is shocking is that the creators of this game didn't stop to think how ridiculously bad the story was during its production.
    In my opinion, there's nothing positive to this game other than the visuals, sound, and acting. Nothing groundbreaking. The only thing that broke (other than the obvious spoiler) is my trust in Naughty Dog, Sony, and so-called professional video game review websites, who repeatedly tried to sway people away from the leaks and towards playing the game "with an open mind".
    It's sad to see this game do so poorly. I don't even want a Last of Us television show anymore if this is what the creators think is their best work. Neil D has become the new D&D of Game of Thrones. It's sad that he thinks all this hate is a sign of his success.
    It's disappointing that people involved in Naughty Dog see the user score as a joke. They can't take any criticism and refuse to believe their work is less than groundbreaking.
    This game did not flow well at all. In the end, nothing in either game mattered. It led to nothing.
    The Last of Us is the new Game of Thrones Season 8, The Star Wars sequel trilogy, and anything else that had a bad sequel that ruined the franchise. This was like a direct to video sequel.

The gameplay is excellent with engaging combat, stealth and downtime. The acting is superb, Troy Baker, Ashley Jonson And Laura Bailey are fantastic in their roles. The levels and environments are wonderfully designed and visually fantastic. Some story details aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and are a little sloppy/ lazy, however I think they are explained well once the game is played through and finished. Overall I’d rate the last of us part 2 a strong 8.5-9. I only wish that bratty gamers hadn’t got up in arms about the inclusion of diverse and realistic people, such as a trans character, or a muscular woman. In my opinion, the game does not pander you SJW as many suggest, but includes realistic looking characters and themes which don’t just go away because of the threat of zombies. If you want to play this game, and can look past the seemingly unacceptable inclusion of minority characters, then I would highly recommend. Those who are easily offended by people who aren’t straight white men or unrealistically rendered woman with boobs bigger than their brains then avoid it and try not to spoil it for others.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
