    Characters make this game, it always has. Joel’s grumpy, yet wise character contrasted really well with Ellie’s wide-eyed childlike wonder. Given that Joel perished in the first 30 minutes of playing, he is replaced by a plethora of new companions to Ellie, and new characters in alt-stories. Abby, Dina, Tommy, Jesse, etc. While they are all fun in their own way, they don’t have a good enough personality in contrast to Ellie, to carry a meaningful relationship to the player. They are all just bland, and derivative of many other characters in other games. Despite this major problem, The Last of Us Part II is fun, with a multitude of environments and a emphasis on exploration. But still a linear story to keep control of the player. It is also incredibly well designed. With all-new mechanics, collectibles and enemies to gawk at, just as I did. You may just be in for the story, or the collectibles, or even just trying this out. You will find this game offers many hours of fun for you all.    … Expand

    A masterpiece of a game. From the storytelling to the character development. The attention to detail is much more than any game that I have ever played. Don't listen to the bitter xbots and pathetic snowflakes. This game is worth it.

    Los gráficos del juego son buenos pero la historia es pésima. El protagonista de la entrega anterior (Joel) no puede morir tan rápido y de una forma tan ridícula, te pasas horas y horas y horas matando gente inocente en busca de venganza para que al final perdones a la mujer que mató a la única figura paterna que tuviste.     Graphics, and controls were a total joy. Story is very bad and monotonous. Kinda like watching the walking dead season 100. Naughty Dog is very keen to dissapointing in round 2. They did it with watchdogs and they dis it again for the last of us. imo still a game to have just wait for price drop as it currently js not worth it as is.

    Guión pésimamente escrito, la historia tiene una caída enorme conforme va avanzando, el juego no sabe cuando terminar. Toda la historia referente a Abby es poco interesante y muy predecible, no aporta en nada el contar su historia a través del manejo del personaje, se pudo mantener como una historia aparte y así manejar una fluidez muchísimo más natural, parece que la incluyeron como unaGuión pésimamente escrito, la historia tiene una caída enorme conforme va avanzando, el juego no sabe cuando terminar.     Truly spectacular game, definitely lives up to the original. People are review bombing the game but I very much doubt they have even played it. They took umbrage with the story that was leaked but it is something you have to experience yourself

Had High hopes for the last of us 2, I really don't understand how critics can play this game and think to themselves this is a 10 out of 10 story. It's like they were in awe by graphics and didn't see any of the plot holes or that there was ZERO character growth in this game. For instance, the bond between Ellie and Joel progresses throughout the first game in many tense situations, but there is no character development in this story. its just a revenge story after revenge story. When your characters don't grow what is the point of sitting through 25 hours. Yes, it's gritty but how does that make a good game when there is no point to the grit. Like if Ellie is going to just let Abby getaway what is the point of killing all these people through the entire game. Why does your conscience decide to kick in after nearly dying and getting 2 fingers bitten off? I really don't know how you can say the gameplay was interesting either if anything they took out puzzles and looking for ladders so all you end up doing is rushing through ai just to get to the next story section why are the ai so badly programmed that I can rush through without having to kill but one or two mobs you think 7 years of making they would realize it was an issue… Expand

    The game is good technically. Great graphics. Good soundtrack. A slightly improved gameplay from the original. However, the selling point of the franchise which is story, was ruined badly. The twist is huge and it feels not logical at times. I would not recommend this game at full price. Buy it on sale with low expectation.

    They kill of your favourite character Joel from the first game in the most sadistic way possible only 2 hours into the 30 hour game then force you to play as their murderer Abby for a whole half of it in an attempt to make you somehow sympathise and justify their reasons for doing so. The other half of the game is played as your other favourite character from the first game Ellie who acts uncharacteristically throughout going on a violent murder spree across the country trying to find and get revenge on Abby for killing Joel. You are forced to play as abby to beat up Ellie her pregnant girlfriend Dina and are only spared because Abby is stopped by another character called Leg and when the final showdown happens at the end of the game the Abby is uncharacteristically spared By Ellie making the whole game up until that point all for naught. As Abby & Lev row off into the mist in a boat Ellie breaks down in the water and goes back home only to find Dina & the baby no longer there because Ellie chose to go get revenge instead of staying with them despite never actually getting it. The game ends with Ellie trying to play Joel's song as the the only reminder of him she has left but cannot hit the chords because Abby bit two of her fingers off in the last battle. In the end Abby who you will justifiably hate with a passion lives happily ever after and Ellie who you understandably love is left with nothing and no-one by their side.

I was so ready to play as Joel and Ellie once again with new characters alongside them in order to destroy what I thought would be resisting remnants of the fireflies.

    What I got was: Joel died too early (in my opinion shouldn't have died), playing as buff chick I did not care about, seeing Ellie in the end with no vengeance, having Tommy become some whiney inconsistent **** and have the only good new meaningful character Jesse get killed. Nice.

    Yes, the graphics were sick, awesome gameplay, fun new cinematics, new engine, smooth combat system and blah blah blah. But all I cared about was the story. At this moment I feel like Don Corleone when they kill his son in broad daylight and I wish I never got a sequel...

    I beg that Naughty Dog revisits this sequel and does it right by our expectations or it will surely dive into consumer hatred for is a previously famous and strong brand.    … Expand

    First let me talk about what i like about the game.

    The graphical, and visual the look of this game is stunning. it enhances everything that the first game had, in terms of looks. its a beautiful game.
    The game has fluid play, and is very fun for stealth based playthroughs.

    Now lets talk about the main reasons for my score.

    The game went from a zombie type survival game to a walking dead, human vs human game that forgot vital game-play elements that made the first one good.
    The story is abysmal, characters are uninteresting , and I felt like i was forcing myself to finish the game by time i hit the what i consider the half-way point.
    i felt helpless being force to play half the game as a character i had no interest in, and at one point raged at.
    The Adult scenes (that i'm not against in games) felt very out of place, and felt as if they were added as an after thought.
    I also felt that the LGBTQ+ content ( not Ellie's relationship) in the game was shoehorned in, and honestly felt like it like pandering to our community.
    Furthermore the final nail in the coffin was the end of the game. I was left with a feeling of disappointment, and regret. i felt that i didn't get the ending we deserved/wanted, and overall i felt cheated.

    i gave this game a 3 because in all honestly from a standalone POV with no prior knowledge of the first one. i feel like this could have been a great game. However armed with the knowledge and feelings for characters of the first game, and the lore behind whats happening in the world, this game just dose not do it for me.    … Expand

    Quick initial review, only 4 hours in, will do full review after completion. Basically if u like part 1, u will like part 2, gameplay wise at least!
    Looks gorgeous, sounds astounding and runs well.
    A couple of things happened earlier than i expected, i have a feeling theres more of that to come. But so far loving the gameplay, improved combat alot.

Ofc, in the beginning couple of moments were meh, and Abby being on steroids is kinda weird but that's it. Ellie was lesbian in the dlc for the first part already. I played for 8 hrs now, got to the end ofIdk why people ppl don't like this game so much.     -Great Graphics
    -Guns and fighting feels really nice and smooth
    -Great moments between the first games protagonists
    -Tons to explore and sightsee

    Cons:
    -Minor bugs that ruin the immersion (Guns glitch out, AI acts really dumb, rarely though)
    -The story is very hit or miss
    -New characters feel really forced.
    -new mechanics don't feel very fleshed out
    -Parts of the game fit more in a movie sense. -No sense to replay the game a second time
    -NO Factions MP.
    Personally the 4 point i give it go towards the gamplay. The lack of the other 6 are because of the story -2 and the lack of MP -4. I find myself not wanting to play it a second time because i really don't want yo sit through hours of walking and "story building". The lack of MP also just makes me want to not go through the expirience again. I keep hearing this game is not meant to be enjoyed, well yeah they are right i didn't really enjoy it at all. And because of that I dont want to play again.     First of all I loved Joel in the first game. I now he's not the hero of a standard video game, I know he was a merciless cold bastard that made a questionable choice in the end. But goddamit was it done well. His death in this game? Just really felt like a **** you to a fan like me. And it's druckmanns choice to have made his death like that. But it's my choice to not like a hack story with butchered characters too. The game lost me and therefore my faith in ND, I'd return this game if i didnt split the cost of it with my friends to play it one by one. The new characters suck and the ending feels so anticlimatic with an even worse written morally gray ending that the first game established. For a game that was placed on a high pedistal it sure fell flat. However, if your a fan you should still buy it, 4 years from now when its on sale for 20 bucks. Wake me up when MP is available.     Never in my entire life a video game, gave me such touching moments and connection with characters as it did in the first game. And now after so much hope in Neal and denial of those leaks, it makes my heart broken. I wish i never play this so those sweet memories of Ellie was the last one.

    After playing the first game and being a huge fan I was deverstated by the leaks but being a fan I went through it and got it... it’s incredible the graphics Ellie is my favourite character in the last of us so I was happy to control her.

    I loved the way naughty dog broke all the stereotypical laws of storywritting and came up with something bold.The gameplay has been revamped and is now even better.Notable improvements to enemy AI and a powerful journey that holds you to your screens for hours on end

But when they in essence urinate on the grave of the story that they have built up over the years, and replace loved characters with new ones that do not even feel like they have a semblance of feeling or anything else for that part, they feel like machines basically. Then I as a consumer and a player do not find meaning in playing the game. I wanted to play this game to expand on Joel's and Ellie's story, but this game does the opposite of that.… Expand
