    The negative reviews are freaking laughable.

    This game is a masterpiece. Don't listen to those who are trying to yell the loudest - play it yourself and make up your own mind. Personally I think this game is absolutely incredible and I know for sure I'm going to play it several times over exploring every little bit of it for years to come.

    All the new characters in part 2 dont make me feel attachted to them. It seems that they r just there for an event or plot twist and then they are discarded. This game wanted to be know as the most dramatic as possible and made terrible writing plot.

    I played the through the first 5 hours, I see why a lot of people are mad story wise. But I think it drives Ellie to explore what is like to lose someone and whether revenge is the right thing to do.

    The graphics are good, the world looks good, but so much of this game has not been changed from the first part, which came out seven years ago. You’d think when a game takes this long to create, almost everything would see an overhaul. But no, many things didn’t. The gameplay is the same, the stealth is the same, the death animations are the same for multiple enemies, the upgrade elements are the same, the upgrade station looks the same, the whole system is the same. Level design and exploration is all the same. Even the exploration is marred by so many invisible walls. This game gives you the illusion of having the freedom to explore, only to be met with invisible walls and pre planned loot and dialogues. The story doesn’t give you any freedom at all. It basically spoon feeds you a story that you have no control over. It asks you do certain actions, without giving you any choice at any point, then in the end it scolds your for doing the things that it told you to do.

    This game tries so hard to teach us moral lessons but it’s so forced that it doesn’t belong here. This all looks so plastic. There came a point in the game, when I felt so drowned into the sea of new characters and this sudden trend in this game, where I had to suddenly care about them and just forget about the two characters that I had been building my relationship with, since seven years ago, that I just stopped caring about the story. I stopped caring about the characters, and I certainly didn’t feel any emotions by the end of it. All I cared was to finish the game and get it over with.

    The linearity of this game is so evident, that you realise that you are stuck in the fairy land of one person‘s cruel fantasies and childlike urges, and their whimsical delusions. It’s their world, and they show you the start, the middle, and the end. All you have to do is hold the controller and watch a movie. You get no option at any point in the game. Not during combat, not during story, not during exploration. This is the game model that frankly should be kept far, far away from the public, because to all the people who like democracy, this is a slap in the face. If I wanted to watch a petty revenge fantasy which was so far off from its sequel, I would have gone and watched a petty revenge fantasy which was so far off from its sequel. I wouldn’t have wasted $60 and 25 hours on it.    … Expand

    There isn't much good about this gsme. If you saw any of those leaks, they are all true. They take your beloved characters from the previous game and turns them into naive idiots. Noone in this game is a compelling character, everyone sucks, there is no point to anything, and the bad guys are cookie cutter generic stereotypes. Don't waste your time or money.

But she's also a lesbian so it's ok. The really revolutionary part of this game is the game-play. They did the unthinkable and added a jump button. This turns the game-play from a boring repetitive cover shooter to a boring repetitive cover shooter where you can jump, quite an improvement over the first game i must say.
    Of course all the amazing action is topped of with the story and the way they tell the story. This really feels like you're playing a movie, except it's a little longer. They added an entire host of cutscenes to really show how bad the KKK is and how cool the lesbians are. A man gives ellie a sandwich and she calls it a bigot sandwich. Empowering.

    For real **** this game. **** like this is holding the medium back and stupid little game journos that want all games to have political messages and just be movies that you gotta pay 460€ for can go and commit toaster bath. And now the first last of us wasn't a masterpiece either so stop pretending like it was please.
    Best game on PS4 of 2020? Come on!

When you create a game with generic gameplay and generic realistic graphics, all that's left for you to make an impact on your audience is the story, now when you try to oscarbait with that story, and make a generic revenge plot the central theme of said story, and then, on the easiest crowd pleaser to ever exist, flop the ending by destroying your own protagonist and having the villain basically get away scot free.

    This game is genuinely nowhere near the level of its predecessor. It's a good game but because naughty dog hyped this game so much that when it came out a lot of people were disappointed. It has overall fantastic graphics and a decent gameplay improvement but the story is so bad that the only comparable thing to it would be Game of Thrones season 8.

I won't spoil anything but the characters are shocking except for tommy and maybe Ellie. I don't know who decided to make us play as abby after what happened in the story. No one gives a **** about abby. The story is so flawed that I lost all hope for the series. . I advise people not to buy it as simply its not worth the money and it will ruin the way you look at the once great series… Expand

    Если кто-то будет возмущаться почему все ставят от 1-3 баллов, ответ прост, если позволить это попущение в сфере ЛГБТ+, то через несколько лет мы будем играть во всяких ведьмаков(славянские страны) , в которых основное население будет чернокожими геями, трансгендерными оленями и тд.     From the gameplay to the story that it tells, the last of us is truly a masterpiece. People argue about the way it has changed, come on, time changes, everything evolves, I didn't see anybody losing their shi* when Mario stopped rescuing Pauline to follow Peach, that was some serious change. Just give yourself a chance and try the game, the whole experience is awesome.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 2 is a really, really bad game. It's everything the fan base did not want in a sequel to the amazing first game.

    That's it. But, to be fair, it's done perfectly. Sounds are juicy and believable, sometimes you're even disgusted by them, and that's really good. The atmosphere is also executed flawlessly. You can feel depression and despair in the levels, how everything and everyone are doomed. That's the only part of the game that makes you think, because even in an apocalypse, people can still find stupid reasons to kill each other.

    So basically the whole game. I'm not mad because they killed Joel, that was pretty much expected, I'm not mad at the way they killed Joel, although self-insert Neil decided that it would be fun to spit on his corpse, I'm mad at what led to this. Joel saves Abby, tells her his real name (I can't stress this enough), casually goes to a mansion full of strangers, tells THEM his real name, and then doesn't understand why they're so surprised until he gets shot in a leg. Are you **** serious? The same cautious Joel, who, even in the flashbacks, asked Ellie whether she told anyone in Jackson about her immunity. And that's the premise of the whole plot. You can't argue that killing Joel with a golf club is done just for shock value. Next, they make us play as Abby, the girl who clubbed Joel, for HALF OF THIS GAME, so we can understand her point of view and sympathize with her. I don't give a **** about her and her point of view, even if I agreed with it, she still killed the main character of the first game. Would you sympathize with a murderer of your friend, even if you can understand why it was done? Of course **** not, it's still your friend who's murdered. That's the same thing. And the ending is highly disappointing, because it makes the most cliché story about revenge just meaningless.
    At least the flashbacks are cool, it feels like they were made without Neil.
    New characters are boring. Jesse gets shot by Abby after like two hours of active involvement in the story, Dina is just meh (but in this game that's considered good), Lev a.k.a The Last Airbender has a whole arc just for him (actually her, they decided that they need someone to represent everyone, rather than to make interesting characters, **** you, Anita).
    Gameplay is bland. It feels like it came exactly from 2013. Your enemies are dumb and stealth is boring, but trying to manage the limited amount of resources you're given is actually quite fun. If you ever played the first game, try to remember the gameplay, it's exactly the same.

    Overall, I'd suggest saving your money and buying something good, rather than this.

    A disappointing follow-up to the original game. While the game gets a few points for graphics and the gameplay.. which might be somewhat amusing at times. The story (which is a big part of a game like this) is so painfully awful that it severely hurts the game as a whole. There are no likable characters and the cut-scenes drags on and on for what seems like forever.

Во второй - сливают старого персонажа, дают пол-игры побегать за Элли (и эта часть еще терпимая, хотя тошнит от "страданий" розовощеких лесбиянок в постапокалипсисе), а потом вручают в зубы чудовище "Эбби" с моделькой мужика (анимации мужские, есть мнение, что вообще это туловище от другой модели). И дальше идет та же самая игра, только еще раз. После 15 часов игры вам говорят "вот тебе худшая героиня, занимайся тем же самым еще 15 часов. Ну и кстати, где хваленая детализация? Ветряки внутри стадиона (что с физикой?), беременная женщина с пузом, которая отправляется на боевые миссии и на вопрос, что думает об этом отец ребенка, говорит "А почему он должен что-то решать?", Эбби с фигурой, которую даже в нашем мире надо постараться накачать, а уж в постапоке, где нет качпорошков - тем более. И прочие дыры. Зато в лицо тычут лгбт, сильными женщинами, мужиками-слюнтяями, и тд. В общем, неплохую игровую серию скатили в дырявое сжв-говно. Непроработанное, с ужасным сюжетом и поворотами, с логическими дырами. Зато лесбиянок показали и независимых женщин, вот молодцы!… Expand

    -they challenge your views, both on what a game can do and what it can be.

    TLOUS2 is an amazing game:

    - it improves over all the good aspects of the first game.
    - Story telling is very well done, character design is superb.
    - The STRONG point of the first game was in the Character design and growth which is the main focus of this game, not in the main "plot line" of the game. Naughty dog did not reinvent story telling with TLOUS (since this kind of plots have been all over the place in post apocalyptic literature, it goes to show you how ignorant the majority of this reviewers are).
    -They designed a story that follows the natural progress and logical flow starting from the very last scene of the LAST OF US.
    - Its a game that doesn't try to please you, or go out of its way to give you what you want (go to Disney for that).

    If you want a game to please you and that you know what to expect from it then please buy Call of Duty and Assassin's creed, I don't hear you complaining about those games being always the same and having the most deviating stories. Gameplay virtually hasn't changed for the last 10 years.

I think the people negatively reviewing the game because of Joel’s death aren’t ready to have the conversation that it was ALWAYS going to happen. And that it makes sense that it happened. Admittedly, it was a little rushed but he died saving someone. He died after being a hero yet again and I think that’s beautiful. Similarly, if you’re negatively reviewing because of Ellie and Dina’s relationship you need to sort yourself out.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all, the problem with this game is not some kind of "political agenda". That is nonsense, the game's narrative does take a stance on several issues, but does not focus on pushing those opinions.

    In my opinion, the reason this game is immensely disappointing is its story:
    Alright, so Joel committed some pretty despicable deeds, and now he faces reckoning. He is murdered, and then Ellie seeks for revenge. So far, awesome plot.

    But then half of the game is played from the antagonists perspective! Excuse me, why should I care about ms Trenbolone's point of view? The part of the game where you basically have to re-play the events up to Joel's clubbing is just boring and uninteresting. And when the story is boring, this game has nothing to offer. It's just the usual naughty dog gameplay, nothing too exciting.

    Even if you give the game the benefit of the doubt, and look past the aforementioned part, the story continues to be sh*t until the end, even from Ellie's perspective. She massacres scores of people without hesitation, but then has a last moment epiphany and decides to spare the only person she actually had set out to kill. What?

    And if all of that was not enough, for me personally the worst thing about this game was that it did not answer, or even develop, issues raised by the first game, the main one being Ellie's immunity, and the hope for a cure. Was that not the cause for all of the events of the first game? Why did we forget about it?

    Definitely worth buying on sale though, it's an easy platinum, and very impressively violent.

    Finally, I have to point out some of the most glaringly dumb plot details that made zero sense:
    1. Why did Joel and Tommy trust Debbie? I know many have pointed this out, and perhaps it could be argued that they let their guard down because they had just had a near-death experience, but still.
    2. Ellie brutally murders dozens of people without flinching. In one particular encounter however, after driving her blade into the throat of a woman, she is absolutely shocked upon discovering that her victim was pregnant.

    To close on a positive note, I did notice a detail that I highly appreciated, and would like to point it out: Debbie mauls Joel's head with a 9-iron, which is a sensible choice of club for the task. A longer iron would not be as efficient because the shaft would bend more at impact, thereby decreasing the hit's force.    … Expand

    This is such a stupid story. If you are in a technical masterpiece, it does not happen without the story. The bad story shot with great cameras and great actors is like bad movie. that was a disappointment for me. dont wate your money just wath on youtube not a collectible good gema like last of us 1(real last of us)

    Playing this game brings me pain. They butchered the story line, even though the gameplay is good, I don’t want to play those characters nor be part of this game. I could list a thousand reasons why this game is worthless, but I won’t waste my time on it, just like the developers don’t care about us we shouldn’t care about their products. DO NOT BUY IT.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
