    Good move Naughty Dog, killing the iconic character of the first one to stage the lgbt community was a shot in the foot, I think there were much better ways for you to make pink money than killing a weightless character in the narrative, he just died and you put a cutscene already passing to Ellie in the cabin.

I managed perhaps a little over halfway then stopped through the game I am not sure if I should bash on and compleat it but I feel like such a sociopath playing Abbi. The main issue I have is the story, It is just terrible and really detracts from any enjoyment did ND forget that games are for enjoyment and entertainment? Perhaps. I Get they went for the not fun approach and wanted to go down the grim dark route. The way old characters are portrayed or have their story lines end I think was a choice given to cheep shock factor or a copy cat of walking dead but carried out and executed very poorly. The new character Abbi has been made a bit of a Mary Sue the story tries Really hard to encourage you to relate too or like her but this is I fear imposable given her actions and arrogance. Other characters do not so much brake character as completely smash it and give no good reason as too why. The story is also confusing jumping between flashbacks Ellie and Abbi. There is also a horrid sex scene that makes you feel awkward and a little disturbed. Over all I would not recommend this game to anyone. Update: Now I have finished the game. The story just did not improve and the ending was extremely unsatisfying. Don't bother trying to stealth your way through and you are pretty much scripted to get into to much ****… Expand

    it will NEVER be enough pandering for these people, and you should ask yourself: is this our audience, or just people wanting to be offended to have influence? This is everything wrong with today's media. Would not recommend the game.

    This is not a bad game. When you play a bad game, you feel like your time has been wasted. This is beyond that: it's a horrible game in that after you've played it, you regret ever putting your hands on it and wish you could forget your memories of it, because it also ruined The Last of Us for me.    … Expand

    The Last of Us II is a dumpster fire that is able to impressively utilize the current-gen technology, but that’s about all good it can get. The positives of this game come where the gameplay is introduced, with stunning graphical improvements and new vertical moving mechanics introduced, which adds a more adventure “feel” to the game than its former predecessor. The motion capturing and voice acting is also to their advantage as well. The flashbacks to when Ellie was 12, are arguably some of the best parts of the game. It reminds you of what made the first game special with it’s character bonding and exploration features. There are many negatives to this game, which begins with Naughty Dog’s marketing team. Before the game released there were lines that were given to Joel‘s character, which got scrapped and given to a new character named Jessie post-release. This heavily mislead consumers into believing that Joel had a bigger role in the overall story, when he really died within the first 2 hours of playing. There were also scenes with what appeared to be 19 year old Ellie and an older character model for Joel, to only be changed back to the young Ellie and Joel from 2013 as flashbacks, which mislead consumers even more. Neil Druckmann, game director of TLOU2, told the fans that Ellie was the only playable character in the game, which is incorrect since for 6-7 hours of gameplay you are forced to play as the main antagonist; Abby.

    The issues continue when you go with the narrative experience of The Last of Us II. The first game took you on an adventure with Joel and Ellie, with immersive and beloved characters, with teaches you that you shouldn’t trust just anyone. In the sequel however, it ruins this theme by taking characters you loved in the first game, make irredeemable decisions and shows us a theme of revenge, which is very cliché in terms of storytelling at a regular basis, and ruins the character development some characters got in the first game. It doesn’t stop however, when they introduced the death of Joel, which could’ve worked if executed more properly. In the first game, it was elaborated that Joel was an untrusting character; even making false names and being wary of every situation. In The Last of Us II however, not even within 24 hours of knowing Abby and her crew, and also being aware that they’ve been hunted for the past 7 years...Joel gives them their names and the location of their hideout, which is completely out of character. Ellie also has some out of character issues aswell. Abby had killed Joel, Ellie’s only father figure, and spends the rest of the game trying to chase revenge after her. During the Final Battle, Ellie has these weird flashbacks that influence her decisions very conveniently, even going as far as to when Abby has bitten off two of her fingers and beaten her bloody, Ellie lets her go after seeing a flashback of Joel playing the guitar. 4/10.    … Expand

    The story or plot feels like it came straight out from the deepest and darkest sections of Fanfiction. Truly, a game that describes 2020 perfectly.    … Expand

No need for it, shoulda took a page from Metal Gear Solid V the Phantom Pain. I mean the jump is SUPER lame. Second, how INCREDIBLY LUCKY was Abbey to find Joel after saving her life and after spending Years hunting him and planning and ALL THAT to have him fall in her lap to sucker shoot his knee off? Ugh, PLEASE! Thats that lazy writing some critics have talked about. But other than that...Wow! How utterly amzing is the game? 9 out of 10! Thats how much! If you ever where a Joel and Ellie fan before then part 2 only compliments the part 1. Never played the first but interested in the 2nd? DONT BE! NOT until you play the first. Too many flashbacks will have you confused in the Last of Us timeline. As the the haters? You all can get infected.     The 7 year wait was well worth it for me. The story is heart wrenching and does a brilliant job of quite literally showing two sides of the story. It also shed light on our own biases, as fans of the first game probably found themselves rooting for Ellie even though she isn't necessarily the good guy in this tale (there probably wasn't one. Maybe Lev.)

    The graphics and worlds are so gorgeous and immersive, and the game mechanics are sufficient albeit maybe a little aged.

    I am so frustrated at the 0 scores on here. There is no conceivable way that this game deserves those user reviews, even if people didn't find the story enjoyable - the world and graphics are enough to warrant a couple points.    … Expand

    Das Spiel ist für mich wieder ein Meilenstein in der Spielgeschichte. Die Charaktere sind so authentisch und mitfühlend gestaltet, einfach heftig. Besten Dank an die Entwickler für das Erlebnis! 1 Punkt Abzug für die Zwischenpasagen, das hat God of War etwas besser hinbekommen.

    I knew better than to get my hopes up too high for TLOU2 as most sequels are up against something their predecessors aren't; expectations. That said, I went into this with an open mind, knowing the game I loved before was over, and there may very well be developments that I won't be too pleased with in the new one.

    The opening reminds the player of the struggles you played through with Ellie in the first game. The hard fought battle to get halfway across the country and the fight to save her when she was going to be killed in the process of finding a cure. It's evident how much Joel's grown to view her as family. Even, dare I say, have found happiness after all. And then, almost immediately, NaughtyDog smashes it all to pieces.

    There's a lot of praise for the graphics and polished mechanics but I really don't care, like at all, about that. The most exhilarating part of TLOU was the story. The world you're put into and the characters lives you follow make the whole gameplay experience a true adventure that keeps you buzzing from one cutscene to the next. If I'm honest, the gameplay itself in the first one was always a bit wonky and took some adjusting to get comfortable with. TLOU2 takes all of that away. What's left is a sad and hopeless trip from one miserable scene to another with awkwardly forced LGBT campaign ads peppered throughout becaussse... equality? Not only does the dreariness of the circumstances really take it out of you, the attempt to make the game feel open world by making 4 or 5 paths to get to same spot extra boring when they're all empty. The reward for exploring is minuscule and usually barely worth the effort. The occasional puzzle also feels elementary and disjointed to what's going on. It's not creative or fun to solve, it's just time consuming.

    The biggest failure of the entire game is the characters. It nearly completely loses all grasp of the character traits, which were so thoroughly illustrated, in the first game. Even the characters in the current game seem to make decisions that are bizarre based on what the game shows you about them up until the new shock moment. One second they're clever and calculated and the next they're rash. One moment they're compassionate and the next they're cold blooded. None of it makes sense.

    It's the biggest cop out to make a crap nonsensical story and then blame the fact that it's crap on the assumed hatred of the people who call you on it. Give me a break.

    For the love of God, save yourself some money and heartache and pretend that this story ended when Joel got Ellie back to Tommy's.    … Expand

It was such a great game that my stepson loved it when he was 16, the story of this one is heartbreakingly bad. It tries to subvert expectations by pulling a last jedi on the gamer, and it fails, there is no hope, just revenge, sorrow and regret. WHich is also my regret of ever considering to buy this game. This is not a schindlers list of videogaming, this is not even a Last Jedi, a overhyped, overconfident artsy game director wanted leave his mark with this pretencious, slice of life versus SAW, mixed with avocado toast my stepson is heartbroken, he love joel in the first and Ellie was a fun character, now she is just a one note character, which is a shame, btw. i didnt see it much as an lgbt friendly game, it was almost by using them as tokens or scenery, parading the, oh lokk we are so woke, now see this even woker thing, you are surviving in a zombie laden apocalypse!, this is for sure.an expensive mess!     I'm a fan of the orifinal TLOU. I think that it is the best game ever. After the witcher 3 I guess. When I found out details of scenario and SJW elements, I was very dissapounted. I'll never buy this game. i watched streams and its enough.
    Congratulations Drackman. You made the game for SJW, but not for the fans of the original TLOU.

This is not the sequel most people have been waiting and hoping for (if any). The positives are only related to the visuals and the technicality of the game.. animations etc. The guys responsible for lighting, animations, voice acting etc all did a phenomenal job and deserve praise! BUT this is a very linear story driven game and what good does a story driven game do when the story is absolute garbage? the story feels like some forced fanfic that tries hard to seem deeper than it really is. I don't mind Joel getting killed, in fact I counted on it. But the way they did kill him and the way they force the player to control his killer Abby (a boring characters that constantly has the facial expression of someone taking a **** doesn't do this already boring, badly paced game any favor. To top it all off the game turns into this revenge plot where Ellie kills hundreds of people to get to Abby only to realize that "hey! killing is bad" when she gets the chance to kill Abby.
    I don't care about Ellie being lesbian or Joel being killed by a woman, it all comes down to how they handled it and how the story progresses. When a game is more like an interactive movie the story is what carries it, that's why this game sucks.    … Expand

    Just like the first game, easily one of the best ever made. If you don’t like this game because you don’t like the fact that the lead is a gay women, then you are a moron. Even if you don’t like the story it is still and absolute masterpiece of game making. Nothing really comes close to the quality and detail involved in making this game. Simply outstanding from start to finish.

    The most important part of a game is the history, is the one that invite you to complete a long game and enjoy the process, but in this case the story si so bad from the beginnig, that it ruined the whole experience, such a disappointment, when i heard the leak of the game i though "there is no way they would ruin the game like that! must be a mistake" i was mistaken

    TLOU 2 hade a great potential, but how we see, all was lost with primitive idea to make this game all about vengeance. Actually , if writers made step forward in the research of immunity (immunity from disease often can be not for all time of living of person) we could get a beautiful story about how man who betrayed the world in first game lost everything because of tragic irony in this game. If script writers was thought more in this direction, now we could have something more then just Walking Dead parody, we can have really dramatic story about payback not from anonymous new character, but from biologic issues of Ellie's immunity.
    And most sadness part of this situation, that ND can
    relieve themselves of responsibility for poor ratings, stigmatize all those who are unhappy by the game as homophobes or sexists, and hide behind the LGBT + community (to which I belong).

I can’t think of a single mechanic that hasn’t been expanded or made better in some way. And the new mechanics make sense with Ellie and mesh well with everything else. No spoilers, but the story is gripping. The prologue starts a little slow,I don’t want to give it a 10 as I haven’t finished it yet, but this game takes everything established in the original Last of Us and improves on it.     The last of us Part 2 takes a flight from the themes and baseline of the first game which made the first game a classic. The gameplay was enjoyable and the scripted gameplay moments were great too but last of us 1 wasn't famous for it's gameplay it was favourite for the relationship chemistry of father and daughter and the adventure they go through

    all this review bombing from kids bitter that they can't afford the game are laughable. the game is a masterpiece in storytelling and a benchmark in graphics - do yourself a favour and play this on an oled tv, your jaw will drop at the first sequence of the game. superb story, superb gameplay, don't listen to all these call of duty / play for free geniuses.

    But I've always believed in Sony and Nate Dogg's work. Please check the game carefully and don't comment on emotions.
    Because it only makes the enemies of Sony happy, the game had a lot of small points that must be trusted.Personally, I was very saddened by Jouel's death, and I cried for a long time, and I feel sympathy for you and the other bad things that happened, because I myself was severely beaten
    And last but not least, the negatives only hurt the credibility of Nate Dogg and Sony, making them less motivated to make other masterpieces..

    Sound, not bad I can hear everything pretty well but nothing pop out at me.

    Gameplay, This is where the game falls apart, besides the story. Biggest issue was the camera, it let you move it but shot you back to what the game wanted you to see. Example, I was trying to look at the sky at one point but the game decide to say, "Hey look at this wall you passed six times" and no there was no enemies on the other side. This becomes worse in combat when you dodge sometimes the camera swings to look at your face but now you cant see the opponent you're fighting.
    Besides that the play style is the same except for the shives they took that out so now Ellie can sneak attack all she wants. That is until you play as Abby(the new character) then new enemies show up that require a shive.

    Story, OK so, the leak is correct. Short Summary- Joel dies, new character joins(Abby), revenge, revenge, revenge. That's pretty mush it .
    but lets flush some of it out. Joel dies yes which kicks off the whole adventure of revenge. that's right about 20mins in and he's dead. Ellie sets off to get revenge on 6 people with her girlfriend, yes Ellie is a lesbian, no her girlfriend is not Abby. and about this time Abby shows up but now you can play her turns out Abby is apart of the crew that killed Joel, so you play as the protagonist and the antagonist. Ellie gets her revenge on all but one, Abby. Until the end then you start the game over but from Abby's point of view but she has flashbacks, every damn time you finish a part its a flashback or flash forward depending on how stupid they want it to be and its all about Abby getting revenge for her dead friends. Once Abby's side is over you finally get to see the ending but you have to fight Ellie as Abby, then Abby says **** it I'm giving you your life bye". So that's the end? Nope now Ellie goes hunting again after some time has past but this time you fight Abby as Ellie. All this just to have both Ellie and Abby give up on revenge and go their separate ways.
    Ellie loses her girlfriend because she couldn't stop sooner and Abby is now on the run from her group.

    Overall, the Graphics aren't much to hold up since they are PS3 graphics still. Sound was present but I could have put on any music and it would have been the same. Gameplay was a mess with the camera going everywhere except where I want it to go right now and at times the Controls felt too different, one button jumps, one button crouches, one button snaps the camera back forward and if you're like me hitting to many buttons to quickly you find your self thrown into a wall 10 ft away and you need to figure out where you are now while getting shot at or mauled by 2 clickers and 4 stalkers. Story everyone already knows I just don't know why had to add on 5 more hours of filler and then 3 hours of conclusion for the conclusion.
    4/10 wait for a big sale like 90% sale.    … Expand

    La gente habla sobre la política en este videojuego y sobre cómo lo ha fastidiado,pero naughty dog lo ha cuidado muchísimo y ha hecho que sea muy disfrutable,cada momento del videojuego repone los pelos de punta y no puedes parar de jugar.
    Los gráficos son geniales, la música, los personajes, todo en esta entrega es de 10, mis felicidades.

    Visually stunning. Story is top notch and has some serious twists. An emotional rollercoaster. One of the best game series.
