    They say none of the games should get 0. I understand that it has amazing graphics and good enough playing mechanics. The problem is story. The linear games like The Last of Us or Uncharted are heavily rely on a story telling. Sadly this one has a very weak plot that is full of holes. On top of that the characters are unlikeable and the beloved heroes from part one are totally changed andThey say none of the games should get 0. There was one point where it was even a flashback within a flashback. The most disappointing part of the story was the ending as it cannot really be called an ending. The same fight plays out twice with the same inconclusive end to it.

    The biggest issue comes with the game's controls. The only way I can describe it is that it is bad. I found myself struggling against the controls during combat more than I was with the enemies. Aiming on a controller is just awful and most close quarters combats play out like bad quick time events. In the end, I had to turn the difficulty down because of how hard it was to aim with the controller and melee combat was impractical on higher difficulties. The platforming parts of the game are just as bad with the controls.

    The only thing I can say is positive about the game is the graphics. It looks good and there are seamless transitions between gameplay and cinematics. The environments are nice. Character animations are nice. The character models on the other hand are bad. I feel that they fall into that uncanny valley where the realism starts to creep me out.    … Expand

The emotions I felt were completely unearned and ruined the legacy of the first game. I finished the first game a mere 3 days ago to make the transition seamless, but the forced themes as well as broken storyline made me return this very soon. It gets a 4 for good gameplay, graphics and environments, but thats not what I played the last of us 2 for. It was for a good story, and this is not that.… Expand

    The last of us part 2 is a great game with even greater gameplay. I have been a person who has actually seen credits and am not basing this of the leaks like the other sewer rats and I can say the reviews were right.     I would advise to game "critics" to be more critical and also stop licking asses. Graphics is only one or two hours of gametime, the rest of it is gameplay and plot. Im very dissapointed that developers can't understand the basic, or don't accept it.

You kill a lot of innocent people to find Abby and then you let her go. I understand what the ending is trying to tell the players but there are a lot of unclear interaction between Dina and Ellie. I can't feel their emotional from the way they interact with each other. Also, Joel shouldn't deserve that way, there are undoubtedly other options available. I wish there will be part 3 for this game, but the chance is very low. I am looking forward to see improvement, if there is sequel for this game, So, the only game that i was expecting to play in my entire life so badly had turned into dust.     The only pros to this game are the average feeling stealth and shooting gameplay mechanics. And even those are laughable. For example, you can go prone in the middle of a firefight and the enemies are too stupid to react to it and be able to see you.

    The graphics are probably the best part of this game. The world design and graphics are phenomenal!

    The sound design is also fantastic!

    Overall... This game is essentially a polished piece of you know what... I give this game a 2/10. A video game has to be more than just looking and sounding pretty. A video game is a piece of art and is there to immerse you into a world and make believable and memorable characters and stories and... This game fails to do that in every way, shape, or form...    … Expand

    Painful cringe experience.

    There's some stuff in here that's never been in a video game before. It may not be able to be stomached by most.

    They way 'you know who' killed Joel pissed me off. ND should have made him sacrifice his life for Ellie in the end instead of beating him to death with a golf club.

    - нет, это не конец! Играй ещё, мы тебя хотим уничтожить полностью.
    И у неё это получается. Мне сложно на данный момент писать этот текст. Ведь я только что ощутил то что описать не могу (но стараюсь)
    Еще раз повторю, таких эмоциональных скачков я ещё не испытывал, и поэтому мне сложно об этом писать.
    Naughty Dog, вы смогли мне дать то чего я не ощущал никогда. Это великолепно.

    Естественно у игры есть минусы, но на фоне того что я испытал. Это просто иголка в стоге сена размером с огромный город.
    Из минусов хочется выделить слишком продолжительную ВТОРУЮ часть игры (кто прошёл, тот поймёт о чем я) Но! Когда ты уже в середине ВТОРОЙ половины игры, ты начинаешь понимать зачем это было сделано. И из минуса это потихонечку переходит в огромный плюс. Без этой ветки сюжетной, я бы не получил такие эмоции.
    Я морально убит... Плохо это или хорошо судить вам, а лично я думаю если произведение искусства (а именно этим я считаю игру) смогло тебя взять за живое,то это просто... Без слов... Шедевр.

    Как выглядит игра?
    Ответ простой.
    Визуал игры выглядит так, как не выглядит не одна игра за всю историю видеоигр. Высший был. Жестокость.

The story is a complete mess that is more or less just a generic revenge plot but you have to play both the character trying to get revenge and the one being chased all while the game is trying to force affection for both down your throat. And this one is all about **** Joel’s death is not an acceptable way for anyone. Yes, in reality our heroes sometimes dead is certain unexpected ways but you don’t need bring this to here. This is a game about humanity and redemption, this is a game to warm people’s heart! The only purpose you make this happen is earning more tears and signs. Make you Naughty Dog thought you know how to make good games, maybe you were but you are not now. You just destroyed the best character in gaming history. Abby killed Joel, damaged Tommy and ruined everything Ellie has. And for god sake Ellie forgive her at the end? So why she went to Santa Barbara? Did she go there for help? If there is anyone should pay their bills then that’s definitely Abby. She did so much disgusting things and what is her consequences? What is her karma? And don’t forget she is a cheating **** And why Abby went to theatre? Since you guys try to tell us Abby started realizing what she did is wrong and after she and Lev finally escaped that island, why didn’t she just leave? Why she need to go to the theater and how she find out the location? there are so many places let me feel disgusting. Yes “disgusting” this is the first time I use this word to describe a game. You are welcome, Neil. If this game is our fans deserve, then this word you and you terrible game deserve with honor.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all, if you want to make a game that "is about revenge", WHY THE HELL IS THERE NO REVENGE ?! Ellie should have killed Abby.

    To continue, the entire part of Abby is boring and I swear by everything that when I controlled Ellie (if only for a short time since she was in the end) I cried that I could stop controlling Abby. It seems good to me that they wanted to put her as a playable persona to empathize with her (I don't know if I'm the only one who has never done it), but we are half or even more of the game controlling her.

    And the last thing I wanted to emphasize for the bad part, Joel in the first game was someone smart, cautious ... But in this game it is like: "Oh ok, I'm going to go to this place that I don't meet with people who I don't know who They are and when I arrive I will not stop stressing that I am Joel, JOEL JOEL JOEL" It seems good to me that they want to kill the character, but more importantly. I know that their intention was to make the game more crude and such, but the only thing they achieve is that you stay with an idiot face looking at the screen. The problem is that we have been sold the game for what it is not.

    For the playable part nothing to comment except that it is very good, for a 9/10. The problem with this game is its suspenseful story, and in The Last of us the MOST IMPORTANT thing is the story.

    I have not put something lower than five because I think it is good that there is diversity (not like other people) and because except for resounding history, it is a good game.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The sad thing about this game is that everything about it could have made for a great story. It had a lot of good elements that I liked but even as someone who didn't even watch or play the first game there's just nothing to make you feel good about this story. You're always taking a risk when you try to tell these kinds of stories and I'm sad to say that it just didn't work out for me and for and probably the majority of other people. At no point were you rooting for both characters to make it out. At some points you're not even rooting for Ellie because she's acting out of her role.

    One moment that really takes you out of the story is when play as Abby fighting Ellie. What the **** Naughty Dog. You do realize the dichotomy that this event breaks. You're either for Ellie or against her. You can't be in-between because that's not a satisfying story. It's why those types of stories rarely work.

    Frankly, I'm honestly sort of upset seeing the "critic" award at 95. So many people who haven't seen or even heard about the story seem to be swayed by it but trust me, it's sadly nowhere close to a 95/100. Watching the entire play through on twitch you could see how after some key moments in the story everyone just lost interest because it just takes you out of it when nothing good happens. It's not a fun story. Maybe it's story they wanted to tell but that doesn't correlate with what the players wanted out of it. No one likes seeing their favorite characters die a pitiful death. Joel was killed by a golf club to the head while tied down. Honestly, with the way interactions between Joel and Ellie have been I can frankly not say if him dying was a good or a bad thing. It doesn't make sense that his death would be the turning point for Ellie to all of a sudden forgive him. It just doesn't make sense. And at the end of it, what are we left with it. The hero who has now lost all their friends including their child and with only 8 fingers left and what is in our eyes a villain who got to escape without any damage away from clashes between factions and who is now living without most problems with their best friend. Is that really what the players wanted?
    No, it's not. Even me who has no care for any of these characters from the previous game. Also, doing one good thing doesn't make you good. Abby is not deserving of nice things. She doesn't value other's having nice things so try convincing us that she is worthy of having nice things. It doesn't work like that.

    Yep. Don't buy this game if you're looking for a good story. Everything else is pretty top notch as expected from Naughty Dog. Just don't go into it looking for a satisfying story is all. Sadly, in this case I think a good story is so much more important so therefore I can't really go any higher with the score even if I wanted to. it wouldn't be truthful of me to do so. I look forward to seeing what Naughty Dog comes up with next. I have no doubts that they have the ability to create great stories. This one just isn't that.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have never in my entire life been so upset at any movie, tv show, book, or game than Last of Us Part 2. Tore down Joel that had such a story behind him. Then in a span of 2 minutes, killed. In the first hour of playing this game. Abby sought revenge, and she got it. You play Ellie, who also seeks revenge killing everyone who was involved. Not only does she fail in that quest, but the devs thought it was sort of a good life lesson that revenge is bad. In the end you have Ellie who finally finds Abby after all that carnage, and let's her go.

    So in total you basically play Abby more than Ellie. I think Naughty Dog wanted us to feel bad for Abby to justify what she did to a beloved character.
    After the game ended you realise Joel is dead, Tommy's marriage ends, Dina breaks up with Ellie, and now she doesn't have access to a guitar which was a big story highlight of the game.

    Gameplay

    The gameplay is very stale, the new unlovable soulless characters make it even more of a chore than anything else In addition to no new significant improvements on the first games mechanics.

    Visuals

    The visuals and animations were the best thing in the game, there are beautiful landscapes and great attention to detail in the level design.
    Sadly, even that could not carry an atrocious story like this one.

    Verdict

    Before attaching a phobic description at me I’m not saying the game was disappointing because of the lesbian and trans galore going on in it (who characters slept with never mattered in the first game, not sure why it matters now but ok), I’m saying this because the story and messaging of this entire game is very badly done with little effort to make it mean something other than representation.. So please find a better use for your $60, invest in yourself, treat a loved one or help someone in need...Just make sure it doesn’t go to naughty dog because if this game indeed succeeds it will leave a taint in the gaming industry that encourages weak-willed creators to follow the atrocious trend of pandering and wokeness to get attention and legendary reviews on the expense of actually creating a good game with a meaningful story    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
