    If you like to feel angry, depressed, betrayed, and disgusted all at the same time for the abhorrent story the wonderful game developers at Naughty Dog (i.e. Neil Druckmann) callously devised to follow the beloved first installment of the Last of Us, then you'll absolutely love this game!

Anita sarkeesian (crap woMAN) turned the game a bunch of sjw freaks. I want to burp from the plot. the beloved character was brutally hammered with a stick, with a gender fluid with a pigtail. I delete this tolleristic garbage and wish the game to fail!

    I'll start with the good. The    I largely dismissed reviews and went into this game with an open mind. I loved the Last of Us Part I and played through it a few different times so I figured the outrage over Part II must be exaggerated. It isn't (and I'm gay so no, it has nothing to do with gay characters as some defenders of this game are bizarrely claiming to dismiss accurate criticism).

    I'll start with the good. The graphics. True to the first, the graphics are amazing. That's why I gave the game a point...and it's literally the only positive I can find.

    Now to the substance (or lack thereof). The storyline is absolute garbage. I'm going to try to avoid spoilers (they can easily be found elsewhere), so to put it generally, characters from the first game are like completely different people. In the first they were hardened, intelligent, cautious and had depth. In Part II, they're completely superficial and the writers seemed more interested in changing the characters to fit a storyline rather than creating a storyline to fit the characters.

    New characters are completely unlikeable and uninteresting. It's not "Oh I don't like this mean character, I want everyone to be sweet and nice and without conflict!" It's more like, "What is this nonsense? Why is this character so forced? Who wrote this trash?"

    There are several instances throughout the story that are purely for shock value and emotional impact. That would be completely fine if they had any depth or substance but it just comes off as gimmicky and desperate. There's less actual emotional impact and more just eye rolling at how ridiculous and out of place it is. There are multiple massive plot holes that are never explained and a very bizarre ending that makes no sense.

    When I first played through Part I, I couldn't put it down and had to know how it ended. Part II, I had to force myself to finish and was just bored, unsatisfied and annoyed by the end.

    I'm honestly baffled as to what the creators were trying to do here. It's like they created a game for people who live on twitter rather than their actual paying customers and fans of the first game. I really feel like an idiot for having wasted money on this.

    I'm even more baffled at all the positive reception by "critics" and "journalists." I get that taste is subjective and if someone likes this game that's perfectly fine, but really, the storyline is just so objectively bad, superficial and lowbrow. I really question the motivations of someone who could give this a 90-100 score, especially if they've already played/are a fan of Part I.

    Pay attention to user reviews before you waste your money on this game. The ridiculous narrative that they're all "fake" is simply untrue. The game really is that bad.    … Expand

As a person who respects Media coverage let me be clear this people sold for access, no they did no receive a bag full of money but they sold out for access once this is out of the way, as long fan of the last of us part 1 this game is a mess fails to cautivate the amazing story and world of the first game , seems like the directos just wants to create shock value for the sake of shock, nothing but cliches in a RATED F movie from Bulgary with a crappy budget , gameplay wise did not improved on the last of us 1 this game is a mess and for real fans this is an insult am not even talking about SWJ things wish they clearly are in the game the dissrespect for the characters of the first game , stupid decisions, and nonesense script drives my note to A 2 and I give 2 only for the amazing art direction.… Expand

    This was supposed to be a continuation to one of the greatest games we’ve been waiting for for 7 years.. unfortunately the storyline is garbage and forced new characters which you have zero interest for... I feel they were trying to make statements instead of creating a good storyline.

    Joel and Ellie were a masterpiece and amazing characters which really drive story and emotions... what    This was supposed to be a continuation to one of the greatest games we’ve been waiting for for 7 years.. unfortunately the storyline is garbage and forced new characters which you have zero interest for... I feel they were trying to make statements instead of creating a good storyline.

    Joel and Ellie were a masterpiece and amazing characters which really drive story and emotions... what we got in this game was just... boring and unappealing. Best scene in the game are ones with Ellie and Joel.. which isn’t much. I bought a ps3 for the first last of us... this isn’t worthy of even borrowing if you’re looking for a good continuation of the last of us story. 1/10 naughty dog. You need to refocus on what makes games good...

In an interview with Neil Druckmann he said that the first game was about hope and this game was gonna be revenge (keep this in mind) and anger, he also said that some people may not like this game because it is the opposite of the first game. The first game was about hope and making and developing relationships throughout the challenges Joel and Ellie have to overcome for example, when Ellie runs away from the powerplant and ends up at the ranch. At that moment the game felt very emotional and we knew that the relationship between Ellie and Joel had grown. In The Last of Us Part 2, the game immediately hooks you with the death of Joel, a very dramatic and emotional scene, as the game goes along with action and decisions that happen throughout the game. One of these decisions is when Ellie leaves Jesse to go after Abbe instead of going after Tommy showing that this story is about revenge and not hope like the last game. These things make you want more in The Last of Us Part 2. In some parts the story slows down but is covered with many optional activities you can do. THIS STORY IS AMAZING (also the character reacts amazingly to everything that happens.

    The gameplay has improved in many ways from the first game. In the first game, it was very simplistic gameplay-wise, there was crouching and running for combat with a few tools such as Molotov's, smoke bombs, nail bombs, and bricks. The Last of Us Part 2 combat has expanded in every way. They added a new way to maneuver such as proning and jumping. they also added many new items and craftables into combat such as the suppressor you can craft to suppressor and starting approaching combat in a new way. There are also many collectibles such as hero cards, coins and many messages that will help you throughout the game, for example, you will find many codes for the safes across the game. They also changed up the skill system where in this game you have to find manuals to unlock new unique skills. So the gameplay in this game has been improved A LOT.
    The graphics are just the best ever. It is eye candy for gamers and it pushes the ps4 to its limit while keeping a constant frame rate.

    Also **** the people who hate that Ellie is gay you f**king homophobes, deal with it and stop being such a b*tch, also you probably shouldn't be playing M rated games if you can't handle a sex scene    … Expand

The first of these is a lot of twists in the plot, I never thought that with a very good character they could do that. Secondly, the game for Abby alerted me, it is very long and boring. What can I say about homophobia, but nothing, it is very small there, as for me it is only at the beginning and because of this I am not ready to lower the rating of this game.… Expand

I honestly don't know where to start, it's honestly baffling to me that you can kill one of the two main characters within the first 5% of the game and think the game is gonna be enjoyable after, isn't enjoyment the whole purpose of Video Games? Why do you go out of your way to just make this game as un-enjoyable as possible.

    Don't get me wrong the game is pretty and the area's are well thought out, but the story and gameplay OOF. Gameplay is just a repetitive **** show, where you clear one area of enemy's and continue to the next.

    And don't get me started on the story, halfway through and it just felt like a draaaaaaag, having to play 10 Hours of a Character that i couldn't care less about really hit the nail in the coffin for this game.

    i don't know what else to type i'm just way to upset to keep this going.

    REALLY amazing game. The development from childhood Ellie to grown Ellie has been handled amazingly, the game not only looks amazing (and looks slightly americanised with the film grain) but the world feels incredibly lived in. Don't listen to those **** reviews from trolls the game is absolutely superb

Well it just makes the entire game meaningless and pointless blood bath. I have no idea what they were trying to make you feel , but they failed miserably.

    Just save your money and stay away from this. A story based game without a proper story is worthless.

    This game is an absolute insult and spit in the face of everything the original Last of Us was. It is tragic to see such a beloved franchise be destroyed this way.

ND has been dead for years. We just have a hard time letting go because, like Joel with Sara, the pain is just too much. RIP ND.     A bit darker than the first game. Really heavy stuff but one of the best games I have ever played. Most movies and games get a sequel because the creators know the fans want more. Naughty dog had more to say and it's definitely worth your time.

    A great game that builds on the world of the first game. Yes it has its views but if you can look past that and enjoys the world and story that Naughty Dog has buildt then I fully believe you can enjoy this game.

The graphics, the sound, the animation quailty, it's all top notch. It falls apart horribly by the story however.

    How am i supposed to believe that Joel, a man who in the orginal is a born sceptic of everyone's motives just walks into a room full of armed people, not questing their motives one bit? The same Joel that ran a car over a dude in the first one because he did not believe him to be hurt ( and he was right)

    Then they go an kill off Joel in a really unstatsfying manner, making you play as the person who killed him for a good portion of the game, even making you curb stomb Ellie. I never wanted to lose a fight in a videogame more badly. Throughout the game we never get an choice to not do some of the horrible actions you do, but the game is all too happy to rub your face in it, when you have to do them to progress in the first place.
    Then u get to the ending and you dont even get to have sweet revenge, but you let your enemy walk away. She effectively wins and gets all she wanted with nothing you can do about it, and you have lost everything good going for you. It's 1 big piece of badly written misery, with not a single lighthearted touch anywhere. Save your money, stay far away from this garbage fire of a game.    … Expand

    I have never reviewed a game before. I'm only doing this due to the fact that this game received so many "official 10/10" reviews and I just can't understand that.

    I gave it such a low rating because I feel so betrayed. I didn't enjoy The Last of Us (original) because of it's gameplay or it's graphics, I loved it because of the story. I can't tell you how moved I was by Joel and his    I have never reviewed a game before. I'm only doing this due to the fact that this game received so many "official 10/10" reviews and I just can't understand that.

    I gave it such a low rating because I feel so betrayed. I didn't enjoy The Last of Us (original) because of it's gameplay or it's graphics, I loved it because of the story. I can't tell you how moved I was by Joel and his character development all due to his experience with Ellie. As a father, I can understand Joel and I can relate.

    I wasn't going to preorder this game since I knew it was going to focus on Ellie and I was made aware that there was going to be a lot of reference to her relationship. However, I thought to myself, Naughty Dog has never let me down before, so I should have faith in them. Instead, I will never preorder a game again. I have been let down too often by poorly executed games (ie. Destiny, Battlefront, Battlefield 1 and 5, etc).

    Once they killed off Joel, the person I was most interested in, the game felt very empty. While Ellie can be interesting, she's still a teenager. The fact that I have had to listen to so much teenagey romantic dialogue makes me want to just throw the game in the trash.

    If all you care about is good graphics and amazing sound development, then you'll love this game. This is why I gave a rating of two instead of a zero.

    However, I think Ellie going on her quest for vengeance with a friend , of any gender, would have been more engaging. The "brotherhood" bond that is formed via survival is deeper than teenage romance. Ask any person who has served. However, it feels like her love interest is just a tag along and I just wanted her to go home the entire time.    … Expand

Here it comes!...” but the pulse stayed the same – that kills any chance to enjoy the new TLOU.

    I'd definitely not recommend purchasing unless you're really really out of big games to go through and your grandma has left you some royal $60 inheritance you don't know how to spend. From my side – “Disappointment of the Year Edition” fits on the TLOU: 2 box best.    … Expand

    Jogabilidade aprimorada da parte 1 e excelentes gráficos. Peca na narrativa fraca e forçada. Final ridículo que não condiz com o que foi apresentado ate lá. O único ciclo quebrado foi o de bons jogos por essa produtora.

But he dies early in the game for no reason except poor story writing. What is the point of upsetting the fans? What is the point of subverting expections in the worse way possible? My only reaction is to be upset. The ultimate insult is that you have to play with abby and you are pushed to emphatize with her even though she is the ultimate villain. The story - which is the main aspect of that kind of cinematic game - is just the worse possible and told in the worse way possible. I don't event mention the ending. I need a refund.… Expand

The game play is ok the story and motivations are not well thought out i had no idea who the hell one characters loved one was from the first game and don't get me started on Abby she is so unrealistic and im meant to sympathize with her nope not happening,
    All in all it switched the grey moral area created by the first game and made it black and white, they lied to fans who were excited i am going to do what i did with the star wars movies deny its existence.

That part of the story i was happy about, the problem for me are the major components/twists. Joel, this nonsense Abby chick, just makes no sense to me. The context is SO much worse man, we have to play as the person that kills our favorite character???? my issues are with the "twists". I cant believe I waited 7 years, and I got this messed up storyline of a game. I want to see the original script and see what the original game was going to be like.… Expand

    I honestly struggled to make it all the way through this game, I only persisted because I loved the first game so much. 80% of the story is really boring and felt like a chore to play though. The best parts of the game are the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie.

    Normally I would say "wait for it to go on sale", but in this case I say, dont waste your time and just play the first game.     Wtf! I’m sorry but as a massive fan of the original game, this game is absolutely god awful in comparison. And one thing I will give it is the voice actors do a great job... a great job considering the writing is god awful. Very disappointed indeed. I hope we get an actual last of us sequel someday.

TLOU world is a cruel world —it was realistic and brutal as it should; it was NOT meant to have a happy ending. Joel was meant to die, it was bound to happen —and Joel's last words at the end of the game were perfect!! "if the Lord gave me a second chance, I'll do it all over again". That was soul-crushing! This game was PERFECT!. It was complex, emotional, and realistic to the game's context. it subverted my expectations! To be honest I'm more concerned about the graphic violence, but that's the nature of the game. The guys at Naughty Dog hit a homerun with this one!

    Just finished the game and I gotta say that it feels soulless and dull.

    The mechanics are ok, but that's it, the story feels empty and pointless and the characters are just a little more interesting than a cardboard cut.

    As a naughty dog fan everything they have blessed us with has stuck with me. Wanting to try wumpa fruit with Crash, hang out with Jak and Daxter, or adventure with Nathan Drake. Evey game felt like a work of art. This did not.

    I wasn't sure is this game worth the money, so i went to my friend to take his copy for a day. Oh my **** god, wasting 2 dollars to pay him for one day of having game was the worst choice of my life. Don't buy it, if you wanna see the story, watch it, game can be okay at start, but after some time you will not **** understand why characters decide to do what they do.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
