    While much of it is stunning, there are a number of technical problems that occasionally make themselves known, from bad/glitchy lighting, strange clipping issues, and some weird character movements. Additionally of note, while quite gorgeous, there are other titles that have even better visuals, like Horizon: Zero Dawn. All in all great, but not the best of a long generation.

    Music: 10

    Quite simply, the music is a 10 if I ever heard one. Beautifully arranged and executed for perfect dramatic effect. Not much more needs to be said here.

    Sound: 5

    The general sound on the other hand, from gun shots to foley, seem to be neglected here. While some things are well done, many effects seem muddled or down right out of place. Worse yet, quite a few are present in cut scenes of all places. Average at best.

    Story: 2

    The story is... problematic and mismanaged at BEST. Much of the story could be salvageable if sequenced properly. However, the sequencing does the exact opposite of creating a compelling and relatable story, instead driving a wedge between what is believable and what is presented. While I won't spoil much here, the story revolves around revenge, the ending opts to "break the cycle" in perhaps one of the most dissatisfying ways, sapping the last bit of enjoyment from the story. While the blooming relationship between Ellie and Dina is quite enjoyable, even that is cut short due to bad storytelling that is not the least realistic. Overall, the story is poorly executed.

    Writing: 1

    The general writing, particularly of the moments between cut-scenes and combat, is almost painful to listen to, due largely to bad and awkward dialogue. A good 70% of this dialogue could have been cut, with a positive or neutral effect to the story if it was.

    Acting/Voice acting: 4

    While much of the voice acting is top notch, it feels like much of the dialogue is so out of place or non-committal that the lack of decent voice acting in some places feels quite jarring.

    Game Mechanics: 6

    There isn't much new compared to the previous installment, and the game mechanics overall feels too similar to the first to warrant much praise beyond better than average.

    Online: 0

    One of the great things about the original The Last of Us was its great multiplayer that allowed for hundreds of hours of online play that felt truly unique and engaging. For some reason, Naughty Dog decided that one of the original things that made this series great would be cut entirely for seemingly no reason. A major disappointment that is not excusable in this generation of gaming.

    Final verdict: 4.5/10

    Overall, the game is a disappointment. After waiting 7 years for a new installment, this feels like a kick in the gut and stab in the back. While the game scores well in a technical manner, everything else falls short of expectations and leaves me wondering if the team behind this catastrophe knew just how poor it truly was.

    Overall, at 4.5, that would make it just below average. When deciding whether or not it would be rated a 4 or 5 for the overall score as seen at the top, I had to debate whether or not to remove some categories to create a better reflection of what to expect. I decided against this and kept to what was written.

    If you played the original game, this is closer to a 0-2, and even if you don't have the attachments from having played the original, it would be hard to rate this above a 5.

    Desde que mi novia me dejó, no puedo pensar en un futuro autosuficiente. Todas las noches me enfoco saber qué es lo que hice mal; lloro por las noches, cuando me ducho escucho música sad y la stalkeo en su facebook, instagram y tik tok. Ahora, cuando me compré un PS4 explícitamente para TLOU2 me salen con esta historia. Decepcionante.

    Great game. DO NOT MAKE TBE MISTAKE OF LISTENING TO ALL THE BUTTHURT REVIEW... they carry no weight. The game is well thought out and the story (although dark and sad at times) is very well thought out. The mechanics are fantastic and the landscape is what you would expect and more from Naughty Dog. It is a very fun game and well worth the 60$

    So disappointing... Been looking forward to this ever since the first game, but Naughty Dog really dropped the ball. While graphics and game play have improved, the story has been all but ruined, and i feel like the returning characters aren't even the same people. Without spoiling, the new characters are terrible and uninspired, and tbh the ending is garbage. Do not buy this game.

False advertising to make you believe that joel is still alive, they tricked us making joel saying in the trailer a quote that he never says in the game, when in reality it was Jesse who was talking to Ellie, so they just changed the whole scene.

    The story makes nosense comparing to the first one, dialogues and story was made to promote the lgbt community nothing more, so obvious and so forced.
    Killing joel in the most brutal and disgracing way, then spitting on him, why? It was so graphic that It makes you feel sick.
    They tourned Joel and Tommy into amateurs who would give their location and real names to a bunch of strangers.
    Having to play as joel's killer to make you feel "sympathy" for her and turning Ellie and Joel info the villains, in top of that we have a meaneless ending with Ellie sparing Abby and being left Alone by Dina.
    So basicly this game was just made to mess with your psyche and your mental health destroying all what we knew from the dynamic between Ellie and joel to just promoting their own believes and ideals with their agenda in the most narcissistic way.    … Expand

    I understand that this game is supposed to NOT be enjoyable but the writing of the story and characters is god-awful. It feels like a fever dream, a crappy fan fiction full of plot holes, decisions meant to be "realistic" but in fact, they were just purely written. Characters do not act the way we saw them in the early game, the time jump does not justify that. The game is too long for a "revenge is bad" story, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE BAD PEOPLE WIN. So revenge ultimately is great, I guess?
    And seriously though, did Abby kill every person named Joel she encountered? That would've made much more sense. His death was so full of **** I can't simply understand how one can come up with a solution like this. Shame because the graphics are the best I have ever seen on PS4, gameplay is mostly okay, slightly better than in the previous game. 2/10.    … Expand

    Outstanding graphics, decent gameplay (not that innovative tbh), kinda disappointing plot. The game is said to be about the cycle of revenge, which is not at all a novel concept, and the game itself isnt that impressive in the way it handles it.

I can nit pick on a few things, like why are people leaving Tommy's camp with only 2 people when the dangers are so apparent outside, that wouldn't be very smart of people... In the 1st one it made sense because she was the cure, Joel was on a mission to deliver her somewhere and he didn't trust people and worked alone for the most part.... But anyway, overall it's a must experience and so far it's solid, once I"m done beating it I'll give my full review...     Absolute joke of a story, literally every aspect of this game is polished but the storytelling is absolutely atrocious, and it shames the writers of the first game. The Last of Us was always about telling a great story first, and this one fails miserably at it.

    Sometimes I just don't understand what people expect from games. Maybe because there is always less than 15 minutes of progress. Because the game slows down? In times of Call of Duty, Battlefield and other stuff, this doesn't suit everyone ...

    With The Last of Us Part II, finally a game with a great story. Great graphics and a game that doesn't force you to progress every 30 minutes. That is exactly what it is all about!

Ellie is a great and powerful female protagonist, she may be one of the greatest female (if not the best) characters ever made in all types of media (and one of the greatest characters made of all)....     I love with all my heart all musics that plays throughout the whole game, they used musics of three of my favorite musicians: pearl jam, tash sultana and Shawn james..... I can't even begin to explain how the tracks played throughout the game makes me feel

They put a lot of time into letting you customize how you play (loot amount, difficulty, listen modes). That and the flash backs with Joel and Ellie are the best parts of this game. The story is complete garbage, imagine if Nathan Drake was killed off by some random mercenary's son you don't even remember. They did fans of the first game a huge disservice, they did a very poor job trying to make you see both sides. It's stupid and misses the mark hard.… Expand

There are so many better more positive ways this game could have been done but it's so mired in violence and mary sue nonsense. The only thing I can figure is that they are trying to virtue signal or something. Upfront, I don't really care about the sexuality of the characters. I honestly find it obnoxious when that is pushed into the forefront of the game no matter the pairing of genders. I haveNaughty Dog has hit a new low with this one.     I’m loving it, just as I did with TLOU Remastered, I am giving a 9 only because of the FPS, usually I don’t mind much about it, but I think Naughty could have done a bit better on this matter.
    Try the game, it’s totally worth it

    For me Joel would never die in another circumstances. He sacrificed ENOUGH in previous part to make his death another drama. Its hard but realistic.

    And like it or not, it's a new world.With lgbtq and emancipation. With strong characters, not genders. And resisting changes could lead only to closed perception.    … Expand

However there is something wrong with taking a beloved character and **** all over him for the sake of a cheap shock. Such obvious character insert from the writer. The Last Of Us 1 was loved for its development of Ellie and Joel's relationship and Joel dies an hour and a half in for the sake of forcing some "dark twisted realism" shtick.     Gorgeous graphics on my 4k television. Great characters. Tight controls. Been waiting for this game forever. Finished part one the same day I started part two. Naughty Dog is the MVP here. Damn good game and I'm only 2 hours in

    I went into this game with an open mind after beating it i became extremely disappointed. The story is bland just another typical revenge plot and to top it all off you have your typical radical Christian cult in there as well.Everything seemed so forced and the flow of the story wasn't organic.This game isn't a game it's just sjw, LGBTQ ,anti-christian propaganda.As a gamer we play gamesI went into this game with an open mind after beating it i became extremely disappointed. There’s a reason obvisouly to anyone with a brain that it’s a 95 metacritic score, one of the best games ever made. To put 0/10 because your mad that Joel died is just embarrassing. It’s the best game of the ps4s generation and I’m in awe at how good it is. GOTY

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
