    Terrible game. Shouldn't even be considered a game. It was a dirty trap to people who fell for this bein a game and instead are forced to eat up lgbtxyz BS. To me the last of us 2 ain't canon.

    firstly, I liked the first game. Great characters, well done story. This new game is not badly done technically. But the story and the message as well as the blatant political agenda that is behind it makes it unplayable for me.

    This game is insane.
    Story ,gameplay , graphics,sound, voice acting,tension , jump scares ,exploration, level design, crafting ,loot , skills , very smart AI never seen such one in any game , tons of options..did i forgot something? This game is a paradise for any gamer it has it all and done masterfully.

Cuando anunciaron este juego por primera vez tuve mucha preocupación porque podrían arruinar la gran historia que significó el primero, no obstante, era Naughty Dog y ellos no suelen defraudar cuando se trata de una buena narrativa, así que por otro lado tenía emoción por saber como continuaría la historia de Joel y Ellie.

    Cuando las filtraciones salieron a la luz, mi mayor miedo se hizo realidad, pero luego Neil Druckman salió a decir que esos leaks no eran el producto final y de alguna forma traté de creer que así sería.

    The last of us II ha sido estrenado y no se debe negar que los aspectos técnicos y visuales son increíbles, se ve espectacular incluso en un PS4 fat; de igual forma la jugabilidad ha mejorado, es similar al primer juego, pero aún más ligero de llevar. Sin embargo, llegamos al punto más importante de este juego, la historia. Los juegos de Naughty Dog son esos en donde el 80% se lo lleva la narrativa, pues te transmiten mucho y te atrapan más en la inmersión. Pero en este juego se olvidaron de todo ello.

    Para empezar se deshacen de un personaje muy querido como es Joel, y lo hacen de una manera miserable. Joel es capturado, junto a Tommy, luego de confiar en un grupo que no conoce, a pesar que en el primer juego se explica que es una persona muy cuidadosa en ese sentido. Una escopeta le destruye la rodilla dejándolo inmóvil y a merced de un nuevo personaje que hasta ese momento no se sabe quién es y cuáles son sus intenciones. Ellie también es capturada, en su afán de rescatar a Joel y Tommy, y es frente a ella cuando matan a Joel a punta de golpes con un palo de golf. Ese es el detonante de la historia, pero todo esto sucede a las 2 horas de haber empezado el juego, solo 2 horas para ver morir a un gran personaje como Joel. No me cabe duda que él podría morir en esta entrega, pero se merecía un mejor final y no sólo 2 horas y algunos flashback en todo el juego, tal vez debieron mirar y aprender de Rockstar sobre cómo matar a un protagonista. Es entonces que Ellie y Tommy salen en busca de venganza, cada uno por su lado, asesinando casi a medio país en el proceso.

    Por otro lado, Naughty Dog y Neil Druckman introducen a este nuevo personaje, Abby, la asesina de Joel, y además hacen que sea jugable por cortos períodos desde el comienzo para más adelante pasar a formar parte de una historia mayor en donde conocemos que es hija de uno de los doctores que Joel asesina en el final del primer juego, siendo el motivo que la lleva a hacer lo que hizo. Es en este momento que te das cuenta que buscan que el jugador empatice con este personaje y su comunidad de forma obligatoria, pero es algo imposible luego de ver como ellos trataron a Joel, Tommy y Ellie. No obstante, insisten en contarte y que juegues su historia, historia que no aporta mucho a la trama e incluso se aleja demasiado. Es con este personaje que casi matas a Tommy, pero si asesinas a un amigo de Ellie.

    Lo peor de todo es el final, pues llegado el momento, Ellie encuentra el momento oportuno para matar a Abby y vengar la muerte de Joel y de todo lo que hizo, algo que el jugador pedía a gritos, pero por alguna razón ella decide dejarla viva y que escape, supuestamente para contar que la venganza no es buena, si claro, luego de haber asesinado a casi medio país como les dije en un principio, es decir, no tiene sentido alguno, pues todo lo realizado en el juego es por nada.

    En un momento vemos un flashback con Joel y Ellie teniendo una conversación en donde él le confiesa la verdad de lo que hizo en el hospital, pero es un momento agridulce que mereció mayor desarrollo y una respuesta definitiva a la relación padre e hija que tenían ambos, pero es algo que nunca obtendremos, pues en la última conversación que ellos tuvieron Ellie le dice que intentaría perdonarlo, pero no sé encuentra segura.

    En conclusión, The last of us II es un gran juego a nivel técnico y jugable, pero en cuanto a historia es muy malo, deja mucho que desear e hicieron realidad mis miedos sobre esta secuela, algo que no esperé jamás de Naughty Dog.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have to say that most of the outrage aimed at The Last of Us 2, is just social outrage. People angry because Joel gets killed, and they make you play as a lesbian and there are lgbt characters in the game. I’m normally in agreement with that camp. I detest identity politics, and feel that sometimes it borders on authoritarianism. However, this game does nothing with these characters that you could call preachy. They simply exist in the story, there is subtext, but nothing is explicitly stated to try and sway your opinions either way. So it seems people just don’t want those characters to exist in the medium at all. So the criticism that it’s sjw propaganda doesn’t hold much water for me. On to my second point, I hated the first games ending, I hated Joel as a character for making such a selfish decision, based on being unable to live with the trauma of losing his daughter. I hated the way it ended, and I loathed the slow, clunky gameplay, but the reason the last of us 2 seems to work so well, is because of my disdain for Joel’s decisions in part 1. The game is about brutal revenge, and the pointlessness of seeking an eye for an eye. It also deals with the repercussions of Joel’s lie, and the fragility of their relationship built on this lie that Joel “saved” Ellie. I found the writing to be very good, and the scenes involving the original duo, still serve to make you feel for Joel, but while you can sympathize with him, and understand his motivations for what he did. It was still a lie, and it was ultimately what led Ellie onto a path of utter annihilation. I think that the gameplay has been cleaned up enough to fix my issues with the first game, and the story serves to resolve a lot of the anger I had at Joel in the end of Part 1. If you can handle LGBT people existing in a video game, as they do in real life, then I think you should play the game, I think your perspective of the story and characters, will be wildly different based on how you felt about the ending of part 1. You may hate part 2 because Joel is gone, but it may leave you with some appreciation for a game and story that doesn’t just seek to provide fan service for people who only took away positivity, and warm and fuzzies for the lie that was Joel and Ellie’s relationship.… Expand

    TLoU1 is one of my all-time favorite games. I loved the characters of Joel and Ellie. Part 2 spits on everything that makes the first game fantastic and also spits in the faces of fans. Do not buy this game if you have any emotional attachment to part 1 whatsoever.

In conclusion the cut scene at the end pretty much describes something that could have been thrown in at the end of the first game and maybe made sense but in the context of this game just describes how much better we would have felt if they had just left it alone.… Expand

    For those love the characters in the first part, this is just some piece of **** that ruined all the good memories in the series. The last of us is my first PS4 game, the emotional connection between Joel and Ellie is the best gaming experience which cannot replaced by any games. Thanks naughty dog, you ruined my childhood.

    This game feels like a slap in the face to all the fans of the original. Older characters are being tossed out the window and are being replaced with new uninteresting characters that don’t bring anything new to the table. Furthermore, the plot is horrendous and the gameplay is repetitive. Sincerely disappointed.

    This game is a slap in the face and just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The way they treated Joel’s death is extremely disrespectful to his character and he should’ve had more respect then how they treated him. The amount of plot holes in the story was way to many for a good game (which this game is not). They treated the men like trash in this game because they were trying to force a strong female lead’s(which I have no problem with and I encourage) instead of having the female lead’s happen naturally like so many games and movies before them. I wanted to give this game a chance because the last game was a masterpiece and this was far from it. The only good thing I would say for this the gameplay was nice, smooth, and I like some of the mechanics they put in, but with that to say the story was trash and it shows. I would’ve given Last of us part 2 a higher score if it wasn’t for Naught Dogs reaction to the spoiler leaks and how they went about people talking about them, it was childish and not professional and I don’t know if I’ll support Naughty Dog after this because of this whole fiasco. Anyway back to the game with my final thought I think this game had a message of hate which didn’t sit right with me after the game and the whole story was way far off from the original plot of a Zombie apocalypse game. They missed so many opportunities to make this game a great game, but chose the path of a narrative that the people are sick of seeing in the media all over the world with that being said I say don’t get this game and save your money for Ghost of Tsushima.     I didn't hate this game. Visually this is a masterpiece, but like a lot of people have already pointed out, the story is a let down and is pushing the wrong agenda. And the game-play is dull. You are basically watching a movie with quick-time events.

    Great to see the xbox gamers active and rating PS4 games! It is a sign of fear from them for rating this game so low. Xbox has some great games and i dont go rate them a low score. The Last Of Us 2 is one of the best if not the best games of this generation.

    Pretty sure all the negative reviews are from people who either haven’t even played the game or even finished it....Its beautiful, has made me smile more times than i can count, and yes a bit depressing but so is real life when your old enough....there is literally nothing wrong with this game

I'm around halfway into the game and I'm considering to leave it that way, not very motivated to get to the end of this...The story and dialogue is very focused on making issues of certain themes, and by that if feels unnatural and forced... I'm form Europe and just bought the game without checking reviews or opinions. I figured this would be pure gold. But now I'm wondering why they did it like this....? You can tell a story unbiased, without sexual references, without swearing every 5 seconds, without constant meaningless violence. It doesn't matter if the protagonists are male, female or in between. You don't have to zoom in on those traits, it is unnecessary and hinders the immersive nature of telling a good story, a story that can be enjoyed by all, that connects people instead of dividing them. A story that can be universally appealing. I think it is an art to tell stories like that, and naughty dog swapped the classic art form of storytelling for useless ranting, unnecessary plot twists for the sake of shock effect all fueled by gore and violence and a constant hint to sexuality and gender. It makes me sad for all the people that put their work in this, all these expensive pixels, the beautiful scenery as a stage for crappy dialogues and weak storytelling. It feels like naughty dog is going through moral puberty, and is just provoking for the sake of it . They just used the universe of the Last of Us as a setting for ventilating their needs. I fear this is gonna feel very dated soon and will not have a long lived history in gaming. Naughty dog honestly shouldn’t even have made a part 2 to this game if it was gonna be this bad. I was in complete shock at Joel and Tommy’s character play when they just decided that it was okay to follow Abby to her hideout like what the **** happened there.... Joel and Tommy in part 1 would never trust a stranger nor would they even reveal their real names!! It was just really mind blowing how naughty dog decided to trash those two characters just to have Abby, this random new character that no one and I mean LITERALLY NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY AS just to kill Joel out of nowhere and basically make her the new protagonist. She also asks Joel to guess who she is like wtf... are we supposed to know you when u never appeared in part 1?? Wtf was the point of Joel’s character build up??? What was the meaning of Ellie and Joel’s journey?? Just so Joel could his head caved by a golf club?! UTTERLY DOG **** All the 10/10 reviews naughty dog got are from paying those developers and companies to just boost and make naughty dog look good!! We all knew deep down that Joel was going to die in TLOU2. It was pointless for Neil Druckmann to even include the way he was killed. Then the ending. What was the point of the entire game if you don’t get revenge. Ellie has killed hundreds of people before, so why would a flashback stop her from killing her main enemy. I hated Abby until halfway into the game. Then I just didn’t feel any type of way towards her. But for the entire duration of the game they force me to want to feel bad for Abby? It didn’t work. I gotta say, I loved purposefully dying just to see her get mutilated by a pack of infected. Everything else, I loved. It would’ve been my favorite game ever made if Joel had a different death and Ellie got her revenge.… Expand

The game disrespects its own characters by killing Joel in the worst way imaginable and twisting Ellie's story into the biggest heap of garbage I've ever seen. I understood that killing Joel was supposed to make me angry. It was supposed to make me want revenge. But the way the rest of the story was written just made everything worse.

    The first half of the game was semi decent. Great graphics, improved combat, but that was about it. There were barely any puzzles and most of the ones that were present took less than 10 seconds to figure out. I was never once stumped or amazed by any puzzles. The story made no sense with Ellie making decisions that didn't feel right with her character. And then half way through the game, right when its building up to the climax, you begin playing as Abby. Good joke naughty dog, now take me back to what I was doing before. Oh wait, you're Abby for the rest of the **** game.

    You lose all progress you made with Ellie. All your guns, skills, items, GONE. Once I realized I would be playing as Abby for a while longer I just become completely uninterested in what was happening. I didn't go out of my way to loot. I didn't have any interest upgrading my guns or skills. I just rushed through every scenario trying to get back to playing as Ellie. But it just kept going. I just stared at my screen with a blank face for 12 hours trying to get to the end of the game.

    The story tries to get you to understand Abby's side and begin to like her. However, I despised her the whole way through. Her story made even less sense and she would make the dumbest decisions. Games are meant to be fun and enjoyable for the player. I don't want some petty "revenge is bad" plot. I want revenge, I want action, I want satisfaction. However, I got none of that.

    I guess its my fault for buying the game before reading actual player reviews. I respected Naughty Dog as one of the best game developers. I have been enjoying naughty dog games ever since my childhood with Crash. The Last of Us 1 was one of my favorite games of all time so I thought this would be a continuation of a beloved masterpiece.

    I wouldn't be upset about any of the "SJW" themes in the game if they weren't so forced and poorly written. I have no problem with anyone trying to express who they want to be, but Druckmann inserts these themes and characters just to make a point. I found Abby's sidekick the most boring character in the game. He talks in a monotone voice and his lines are delivered so poorly. I had no emotion for any of the deaths or subplots that were happening near the end of the game. I was mainly in disbelief that a studio like Naughty Dog would create one of the worst games I have ever played. The ending is dragged out for so long. There were so many times I was expecting for the screen to go black and the credits to start rolling, but it just kept going and getting worse. It felt like Druckmann had no idea how to end it so he just kept adding more garbage to the pile.

    I was so excited for this game to come out and was prepared to do multiple playthroughs. However there was no satisfaction, no fun, and the ending was complete trash. Guess I'm joining the bandwagon that The Last of Us 2 is not canon. I am going to be very wary towards buying the next Naughty Dog game as I have lost almost all respect.     However, the makers of this game have decided that their mission is to “subvert expectations”. This wasn’t done subtly or intelligently, instead they seem to have gone to great pains to throw out everything good from the first game, and replaced it with some of the vilest characters ever, even if they wore the same name and faces. Honestly, Ellie would have made one of the biggest villains in any other game.

    And that’s not the worst part. The worst part is the game is boring. It appears somebody at the game studio decided graphic violence would add shock value and be “edgy”. Unfortunately the makers decided that if a little shocking violence was good, then repeating it every couple minutes must be better? To the point that it fast became totally meaningless, and then extremely boring. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind violence in video games, I’m also a big fan of the Doom series, but it is completely out of place here. In fact, thinking about it, Doom has a far better story than this dross.

    I’ve heard the game studio was trying to make people think about the morality of hate and violence, but it failed on two counts. Firstly the player has very little agency in this game, you have to do the violent / cruel things, or the game won’t let you progress, which separates the player from the consequence of the action. Secondly the game is so boring you could have hit me over the head with the message wrapped in a 2x4, but after the first hour I was so disengaged with the game I wouldn’t have noticed.

    I forced myself to make it to the end of the game (and I mean forced), in the hopes that it would get better. It never did.    … Expand

Ele nos mostra a importância de conhecer os dois lados da moeda. Que aquelas vidas que Joel tirou no primeiro jogo, especificamente no final, também tinha suas famílias, amigos etc. Nunca vi um jogo se aproximar tão real do que o ser humano pode se tornar, ou não. Não é à toa, que o jogo é recomendado para maiores de 18 anos, não digo isso pela violência, e sim, pela simples capacidade de raciocinar uma história tão complexa como essa!… Expand
