    The game has an extremely bland story and panders almost exclusively to sjw rhetoric. I would highly ecourge anyone with a smidge of intelligence to avoid this game at all costs. Don't believe the mainstream game reviewers they are all paid by sony and are too afraid to be viewed in a negative light by the company. The game is not worth anyone's money.

    In terms of gameplay it perfect almost every aspect part 1 got right, plus adding great immersive interactions and actions (like animatic pick ups and laying down on the ground). Unfortunately the game didn't brought back the multiplayer that was fun and a great addition in part 1. It fails to deliver in storytelling, by not giving the player a way to choose it undermines itself.     This game is a masterpiece, so good that I don't want to stop playing it. It has an incredible graphics, probably the best in the video game history, an amazing and immersive world, challenging mechanics and a good story so far(I've played 9h).     Perfect graphics, decent gameplay but nothing can save the game from the TERRIBLE STORY.

    The graphics and scenery are beautiful, a lot has obviously went into that.

    The game has similar gameplay to the first TLOU, which imo is a bit clunky, hard to get acurate targetted shots in.

What makes it worse is the fact that all these big companies that review games for a living are too afraid to upset a tiny minority of people.     Don't lissen to the infantil haters and review bomber. Obvisouly it's not a fairy tale, and i feel sorry about some characters. But this game is f*king awesome. Recalled the best moments of Game of Thrones and The walking dead. But still The Last of Us.

    The intelligence and morals of the characters in the first game have disappeared. Both Joel and Ellie are different people in this game, and all the new characters introduced are what others have said. They really are empty. This franchise was all about the realism of the characters which made a interesting believable story come to fruition. But this game clearly has an SJW agenda. You would have thought the sequel would be about Ellie finding out the truth about what Joel did in the end of the first game, would then lead to her wanting more than ever to find a cure. Or something relating to that aspect. But it literally falls apart from the very start. What is worse is that they clearly lied in the trailer showcasing Joel in scenes where, in the real game he is either not actually there or it's a younger version of him which means the scene in the game is a flash back. But the trailer is showcasing all present day moments making you believe Joel to be alive. Naughty Dog obviously did this because the game was leaked and tried to create confusion.     As the biggest fan of the first game, I was extremely excited to play the sequel. For me, the first game was the greatest game in video game history. I expected this game to equal it, or even beat it, but sadly a poor choice of storyline has been horrifically executed, making this the biggest disappointment in gaming history instead. I would get a full refund if I could!

The game makes me feel bad for killing enemies constantly and then doubles down and makes you feel even worse when they try to humanize your enemy. It’s like they’re trying to give you ptsd.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finished the game and i have to say i have mixed feelings about it. First of i don´t wan´t to give a bad review because they do X or Y thing, or "this character" is male/female/dog, etc. So here comes...

    Graphics: This is like God of War on the technical level, where they use 100% of the graphic power on the Ps4 or Ps4 Pro to the maximun, it´s looks gorgeous and the different places and little things like the snow, ice crack when you pass trhough it and that kind of things are top notch and we have to clap at naughty dog having and using the technology at best same with the characters models.

    Animation: Another good hit, they really take time working on the animations to feel real in every kind of way, the backpack swinging when you are waking or running, taking out the machete out of the body and that feel it´s not so easy because of the flesh and bones.... nothing to say, just awesome on this part.

    Sound: The sound it´s really good, sound immersive in this cold and desolated land with the clickers going around and the gun sounds outside and inside the buildings sound good and you can hear the difference between the guns

    Now on the other side.....

    Story: It was a hit an miss, sadly in story driven games its the most important thing and sadly enough feels so forced from start to finish. And for that i would make an example of how new people playing would care more of Joel instead of how they killed him:

    Imagine this: You play with Joel/Ellie for a bit scavenge things, they saw Abby's group and they fight each other because Joel said in the first game "never say your name and trust no one," and Ellie goes. Then Joel hear about they are gonna kill Ellie to make him suffer.
    Then Joel kill a bunch of Abby's team and when he get there Abby is sitting on Ellie's back and pointing her with a gun on her head. Joel mad said "free her" and Abby's just laugh and said he is a murderer because he kill her dad and Ellie said "that's true" Joel said "I'm sorry it's true," and Abby's stand up to confront him meanwhile Ellie's is in shock because of the lie and Abby's start to get mad and they start fighting and in some point Abby shoot Joel and he in his last breath said, "I'm sorry Ellie, I lied to you because you are my only family."
    Then Abby said "I finally get that **** look at Ellie and just go away." Now Ellie is sad/angry/confused because of this news and the dead of Joel while making his grave. Better script than the game don't you think?

    And they decided to create 0 feelings towards Abby or trying to give more info why she wanted so bad to kill Joel in the entire game, meanwhile Ellie really doesn´t show how mad or shocked she is about the dead of Joel. Meanwhile Joel it´s not the character we know from the first game, he was always saying to Ellie that: "Never give your name and trust no one", instead he just said his name without a doubt in a couple of hours and like: "I´m ok *derp face*"

    That´s a real turn off for any fan of this franchise because the characters from the first game are not in this sequel, and the whole idea of "revenge" it´s so cliché and predictable that lost the shock value from the first one.

    Sadly Naughty Dog create an awesome game on the graphical side but horrible on the script side that for a game like this is the main core for your audience.    … Expand

The game has improved in many aspects from the first one, way much better gameplay, amazing graphics and the sound design is just on point every single time but this is a story driven game and all these technical stuff are there to support the story of the game to shine, and here where this game falls short, its soo anticlimactic the character progression is almost non-existent and the narrative falls short in so many times making the game feels missing something.

    The fact that we play as Abby to try and get her POV is trash because we don't get anything useful other than explaining her reason which just boils down to "you killed my father" that's it other than that 50% of this game which we play as her is basically not relevant at all, she is a new character that you established in the beginning of that game that we hate, the reason why you are giving us her POV is beyond me at that point because we already established her...

    if you were trying to make the players forgive her or just feels compassionate about her that wasn't the way to do it, maybe reverse the order of the game, give us insights about Abby first then continue to her killing joel then Ellie trying to get revenge only to realize this is not gonna go anywhere somehow and then ending the cycle, this feels like lazy writing as non of the main characters (Ellie and Abby) get any insight of each other at all.    … Expand

The story is not as engaging, period. Better graphics and mechanics can only take you so far, but if you do not care for the story then the graphics and mechanics do not matter. Is the game well made and looks pretty? Yes. Is the game fun to play? No. Paid "Critics" can give this game a 10/10 all they want, critics give EA sports games 8,9, 10/10 every single year despite the games progressing in visuals but regressing in mechanics and content.     One of the best games and experiences in the world of entertainment I've ever had. I'm playing on a QLED Q80 TV with a PS4 PRO, and I can say that technically it's an incredible game! The story is heavy and very tense. If you are a fan of video games and movies it will definitely be a life changing experience !

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First off: I managed to go into the game completely without spoilers. I was genuinely excited to play tlou2 but it just continued to break my heart.
    The two points are for the phenomenal graphics and the (voice-)acting. You can really tell that they tried to use every bit of power the ps4 can muster up. I also loved the wlw relationship and the way Ellie's relationship was portrayed, it seemed organic, as well as the reaction of others.

    The main story on the other hand...I went in with the expectation, probably like many others, that Ellie and Joel will go on the road together again to right some wrongs (because of THAT trailer). The fact that they decided to him kill off in the prologue in such a gruesome and disrespectful way made me stop wanting to continue. I probably would've but I paid full price and didn't want to waste my money.
    Without a trigger warning or anything ahead, that (quite long) torture scene managed to throw me into a panic attack ( I can play horror games and similar just fine and I also had no problems with the first game). You can argue that the first game started with a horrible death as well and that it's to further emphasize with Ellie but thats not comparable.
    The usually very cautious Joel being so trusting with a stranger leading him and his brother to a group they don't know about felt absolutely out of character. The decision to make the player play as Abby after that murder was and still is unfathomable to me. All her motivations and reasons are tainted and seem irrelevant after watching her brutally kill Joel.
    It seems to me like lazy writing to get Ellie on a revenge spree without a satisfying conclusion; just a kumbayah lesson to learn. I probably spent around half an hour to get Abby killed as much as possible (again, quite unsatisfying)

    There are many other issues within the plot that I can't and won't go into detail. Those who still want to go ahead and play it should do so, I'm sure there are enough people that enjoy multiple hours of content that provides a unique combination of emotional abuse and boredom. It has no additional value to the first game and can be ignored. There are some sweet and funny moments, but to me they were mostly overshadowed by the bad ones. All in all: I regret buying this game and it's a shame I can't return it.    … Expand

    While the graphics are next-level, everything else about this game is a major disappointment. It is obvious the so-called "critics" are in the pockets of Sony. I have not enjoyed playing this game and cannot recommend in good conscience.

Some call this game "misery porn", they wouldn't be wrong, the game does just intend to make you feel bad for the sake of it, even if it makes no sense.

    The gameplay is mediocre at best, third person shooter with very basic melee combat and low enemy variety.

    The graphics are the only saving point, but no matter how good they can look it does not save the game from its abysmal story and mediocre gameplay.    … Expand

Everything outside of combat might as well be cutscene for all the choice and control the player has.     One of the most fantastic experiences i’ve Ever had in a videogame, just breathtaking. It takes everything from the first game and makes it better.
    All this reviews complaining about the plot and sexual orientation about the characters are just kids in the inside...just deal with it.

    Joel and Tommy are made into idiots, they gave up their names to strangers even though they have never done this and they have major trust issues along with having enemies.
    Ellie goes for revenge and does not get it, We are forced to play as Abby the villain even after she kills the man who saved her life and the beloved Joel.
    The game also beats a pregnant Bi character, Druckman also put himself in the game and his character spits on Joel's dead body.    … Expand
