    My wife's boyfriend preordered this game twice, and sooo happy for that! A 10, why?: LGBT representation and conservatives and christians are mad about it. One day under socialism every vídeo game will have only LGBT characters and LGBT stories. Communism will win and hopefully under BLM administration.

He didn't deserve it, oh thats not even the worse part, you get to play as the killer and the story makes you feel bad about her. First of all I don't care how hard neil **** had a hard on for that monster you call a girl. But when in the end you get to kill her, ellie just leaves her. This doesn't even make any senset this means that joel died for nothing,. Seriously, ND what happened you are the master of story telling how bad can you fk up. I know that you people still had the guts to say that all the negative reviews are from bots. What are you saying that the fans are bots. That is sooo disrespectful.     when I started playing part 2, it was up and down for the first few hrs. I hated it and loved it. Now I’m about halfway through the game and it’s the best game I ever played. Ppl who gave up on it after “the scene” are not real gamers and have NO IDEA what they are missing... You can’t watch cutscenes and assume you know how the game will be. I like the game Halo but if I watch gameplaywhen I started playing part 2, it was up and down for the first few hrs. I hated it and loved it. This game is a slap in the face to the fans who loved the first game, almost 2 hours in Joel is killed by a new character named Abby and then later I have to freaking play as her after what she did? Then they try to make you feel sorry for her? Nah Forget that it’s complete bull. Then that sex scene with Abby and that guy.. (forgot his name because that’s how forgettable he is) was just disturbing and uncomfortable to watch and what made it worse was that the guy was mocapped to look like the director of the game, so he basically put that scene in so he can get some pleasure, that’s some sick and disgusting stuff. Then the ending oh the ending, to sum it up Ellie is about to kill Abby which in order to get to that point she had to kill at least hundreds of people and when she finally has the chance she says that killing Abby won’t do anything? Then what the heck was the point of Ellie killing all those people just to not Kill Abby, it’s horrible writing and an excuse to make a 3rd game which will probably be worse than this garbage. Please if you liked the first game just pretend that that was the ending and this game is just horrible fan fiction, because the story for the 2nd game is nowhere near close to the Same level as the 1st game, heck even fans could’ve wrote something better than this garbage. Just please save your money and don’t listen to the “critic” reviews because its clear to see that those reviews were paid for So they could fool people into buying the game.     I played The last of us 1 two days before The last of us 2 was released. I loved the first one and was so excited for the second one.

    The thing that made this game bad for me was the story when the last of us 1 had such an amazing story. Naugthy dog are known for making good stories and they did not show that.

    It was sad that they destroyed The last of us 1 with the last of us 2. I dont recommend paying full price for this game.

    It's often difficult to offer a quality sequel and also to surprise after a game perceived as a masterpiece. Naugthy Dog doesn't surprise us with the graphical quality which is good but not amazing. The gameplay isn't surprising either, it's improved on some points but is amputated at the level of puzzles, for example. The surprise actually comes from the scenario which wants to show theIt's often difficult to offer a quality sequel and also to surprise after a game perceived as a masterpiece. Naugthy Dog doesn't surprise us with the graphical quality which is good but not amazing. The gameplay isn't surprising either, it's improved on some points but is amputated at the level of puzzles, for example. The surprise actually comes from the scenario which wants to show the stupidity to succumb to violence and thus to start a circle of violence. Unfortunately, as much as the basic idea can be good, it is badly executed... Between clichés, ridiculous characters and other jokes, I had troubles finishing this opus and besides, I should have stop before the end which is just laughable.… Expand

    They picked TLOU, something beautiful and heart-wrenching, one of the best stories out there about loss, conflicting feelings and interactions that absolutely made you fall in love with the characters and made it into a rushed, down your throat shock therapy revenge story... Absolutely sad how they destroyed it.

    despite of all negatives, it is still a solid game. I actually liked the story line that depicts the hate vividly. not too sure what all the other people expect in plot, all beloved one live happily ever after?

    When I first played The Last Of Us in 2013 for the Playstaion 3, I was like 19 and thought it was the best game on the planet. Now, I've played it 2 in the last two weeks; once for the store, and once for the Grounded Mode gameplay. There were things that I still LOVED about the game, like how fluid it was and how well written/spoken the characters were. While Uncharted's Nathan Drake was a treasure hunting serial murderer with no regard for human life, Joel was a tired, grieving man who felt as though everything is did was to protect and survive. But while Uncharted has a ton of monotonous climbing (albeit with a few scripted moments to keep things fresh), The Last of Us had annoying Ladders and "drag this over here" moments to pad gameplay. It's kind of ridiculous how often you had to pick up a ladder just to literally walk it two **** inches from its destination. AND THE PALLETS, OH GOD THE PALLETS... But the combat and story is where the game shined. The shooting and aim was pretty rough, but the combat was still one of the best experiences I've had in gaming even after 7 years of playing better games. While it couldn't hold a candle to the recent God Of War, it was so crisp when youd throw a molotov at a small group, dip behind cover and choke a guy out, take out a guy from across the room with a boy and then finish of the last guy with good old-fashioned fists. It was nice how every fight felt a little different. Sometimes youd push a guy off some stairs for a kill, or smash their head in if there were against a wall. It was brutal, intense, and impressive when you think about how far this game pushed the limits of the PS3. And the story was so incredible, it really didn't need a sequel, even though fans of the game, including my 19 year old self, really wanted one. Watching Joel go from brooding and dark to tragically optimistic after a year with Ellie was tear-jerking, while watching a Ellie go from snarky and quick-witted to tragically hopeless because of Joel was gloomy and perfect.

    The Last of Us 2 is amazing.

    While the story isn't amazing, I think it needed to happen. The was playing the first game with my roomate in the area, and she constantly was like, "So do these characters just get to walk away from all this with no consquences whatsoever?" And it raised a great point. After beating the original Last of Us, questions I hadn't considered as a teen were raised now. Could Joel just walk into a hospital, kill a ton of innocent people, and walk out of it to start a happy life with Ellie and not be held accountable in any way shape or form? And if he could, is that really how life works? Would Ellie forgive him for robbing her of being a sacrifice for a cure to an apocalypse? What would the dynamic be after that?

    The Last of Us: Part II answers a lot of questions and raises a few more, and while the story takes a bit longer to wrap up than needed to, the overall message is clear.

    I've heard a lot of review talk about how they became unphased and deafed by the gore and blood this game offers. And honestly, get the **** over it. If you could watch scenes from The Walking Dead, or play Mortal Kombat and go "awh man, I gotta see what happens next," then dont tell me about how the gore was too much for you. It wasn't that bad, I've seen much worse, and if games are designed with the idea that they will become increasingly cinematic and realistic then all this game does in the realism department is take a big step forward. If bloody games bother you, maybe play Pokemon. They have new DLC.

    To people saying the characters don't make good choices, and that Ellie isn't the same. No, of course Ellie isn't the **** same. And if you take time to consider the fact that she was dragged across the country at the age of 14 by a guy in this 50's who's capable of murdering hundred of zombies and people with only his fists and a few handcrafted shivs ALL so that she could find out she's actually NOT able to save the planet from a disease shes immune to, you might be able to understand why. I haven't come across anything that made me go "now why would they do that."

    Also, if you watched the trailer of Ellie kissing a girl and went "why is Naughty Dog pushing a gay agenda on me?" then just don't play this game. Its cast is a lot more colorful and progressive than any game thats ever been out, and if youre upset by that idea then save your money. But in my opinion, it was going to happen eventually and I'm glad Naughty Dog got to steer it in a nice "not in your face but this is happening so get over it" direction.

    I wasn't HAPPY about some of the things that happened in this game, but I understood why they did. I think its time to open your eyes and stop thinking about what you would have WANTED to happen, and what actually makes sense.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is a stunning game graphically. Only games such as RDR2 compare to the beauty of this game. It looks great with a PS4 Pro on a 4KTV.

    The game mechanics themselves are quite good. There’s nothing new here really, but it keeps it simple and easy to use. Fighting, shooting, crafting, it all feels good.     Here’s why I gave the game a 4/10, the story. I’m going to keep this short not to spoil anything hopefully, but I will say this. The story will leave you completely unsatisfied. Imagine the feeling of not being able to scratch a terrible itch, to never feel that satisfaction, that is how this game’s story leaves you. It honestly makes you feel like you wasted your time and money as you forcefully dragged yourself through certain difficult story elements in hope that something would be good.

    There are obvious themes the game wants to carry. Revenge is never going to fix things is probably the best way I can sum it up. Also “a there are 2 sides to every story” could be a theme in this game as well. I applaud Naughty Dog for what they tried to do, but the way they implemented these story elements makes you feel so unsatisfied at the end of the game.

    I’m a lifelong fan of Naughty Dog games, and I wish I could be writing you a review right now telling you how great of a game this is.    … Expand

    Most meaningless story I've ever seen. The game is rated 18+, but it is a story for 12-. It's just not worse than the last season of game of thrones.

    Uno de los mejores juegos que haya probado jamás, ademas que se ve increible, hay momentos tan vistosos que no sabes si sigues en cinemática. El mensaje del juego es crudo, pero construido de manera genial. Naughty Dog no decepciona nunca y a mi parecer esta vez se han superado sí mismos

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is such a letdown from such a long development cycle and so much anticipation. Perhaps it was the hype behind it or it was the huge shadow that the first game cast over it, but Neil and the writing team at ND should be one hundred percent ashamed and embarrassed of themselves. The story is weak and based on a lie, Neil said that they wouldn't do something as cheap as kill Joel extra early for that cheap shock factor, but then did it anyways. That part's bad enough already, but the worst part was after playing as the character (Ellie) we actually cared about you FORCE me to play as Abby the one that kills Joel, the other character we care about, for hours and hours on end. The best way to describe the gameplay is uncharted 4 with a little bit of The Last of Us sprinkled in and exclussively on the player. Enemies number in the hundreds, have unlimited ammo, pinpoint accuracy and AI ranges from agitating to full blown idiotic. The gameplay is copy pasted to TLoU pt 2 from the first one, sneak around, stealth enemy until stealth is no longer an option, but of course there are way too many points where Naughty Dog thought it'd be funny to put way to many portions where stealthing is not an option. And when the game doesn't provide enough recources to stabilize the player during firefight after firefight in a SURVIVAL game, it creates frustrating loops of trial and error. Changes were made seemingly to make things worse. Stalkers are completely invisible in listen mode, you can't swap bottle/brick on the fly, stealth sections are made purposefully impossible to complete 100% stealthy and you can't just sneak through entire areas like you could in the first one.

    Abby's section(s) are unenjoyable mostly because I spend the whole game wanting this character to die. I don't care who her dad was, I don't care who she loved or **** I don't care what she does or what she did. She will always be the one that killed Joel and I want her to die in the most painful of ways, but Neil and his writing team thought that her killing Joel should be in the opening hours of the game rather than flip it, backstory then kill Joel. This was a lazy, slap in the face so I often spent the massive amount of time playing as her to kill her on purpose.

    The areas, in the vein of uncharted 4, are trying to be a little more open and while I appreciate the attempt at making these worlds feel lived in and it definitely makes the environment more interesting than the actual characters or story, those "side quests" can range from pointless to impossibly pointless, being more trouble than they're worth.

    The point of this game, according to Neil was hatred and revenge. Major ending spoilers, so after what amounts to 20+ hours of gameplay, literally the last couple levels are Ellie vs the Cartel in order to again track Abby down and kill her. What was it all leading up to? What happens to Ellie? She lets Abby go. When you effectively shoot yourself in the foot at the beginning of the game and then in the other foot forcing me to play as a character I as the player actively HATE and cannot wait to kill and then force this morality on me, it's utter trash and stupid. I WANTED to put her through what she put Joel through worse even. She should've died. I'm supposed to believe that after killing: David, Hunters, infected after infected, countless nameless survivors between this game and the first one, countless wolves, Scarred, Owen and a pregnant woman, that Ellie is suddenly inflicted with morality and can't do this?

    So since the story is so weak and the ending is the gaming comparison to a middle finger from Neil what about the gameplay? Well it's dated. The core of it is fine, but it borrows too much from Uncharted 4. It's action packed setpiece after setpiece like it's Uncharted. I'm limited to 8 shells of shotgun ammo vs this Scarred dude who can put 7 arrows into me as I try to rush him, but since Naughty Dog saw this as an affront to their "hide in the tall grass and shank people" loop they wanted they jacked up the enemies aggression and accuracy to 20 and said **** you". Uncharted 4's grass as cover thing worked better because you were invisible when you did it, but since Ellie takes about 3 weeks to slit a dude's throat and read them their blessings you end up getting spotted because she takes the better part of a month to kill one person. The infected are dealt with similarly, the Shambler is a nusciance forcing stealth into open combat, just don't bother. The "boss" in Abby's section was utterly idiotic. And Naughty dog is to scared to mingle human and infected enemies together for more than two or three sections. And to ensure you're forced to clear all enemies before proceeding you have to hold triangle through all doors. At least the graphics are nice to look at sorta.

    Film grain option needs to be added to this game asap, the last of us 1 looks better to me, why put film grain in the game and not give us the option to turn it off, i cant even enjoy the game because of the game doesnt even look 4k because of the stupid film grain wont play this game until the put a patcj giving us the option to turn it off.

I wanted her to pay for the pain she caused to Ellie and Tommy. When that happened i was speechless and cried my eyes out. I don’t care for Abby and wished he had payed. Abby was the playable character for the majority of the game which I don’t think anyone wanted. Ellie let her go in the end which doesn’t make sense. The story line was trash and the ending was trash. Joel killed her father in Salt Lake but did she didn’t think that maybe that’s not what Joel wanted he didn’t wanna lose another daughter which I completely understand. They never asked Ellie if that’s what she wanted. Ellie didn’t know she was going to die from the surgery. Abby needed to let her fathers death go because in a world like that sadly it happens. After waiting 6yrs for a second one i was completely let down and will never play this game again. FYI i did play the game and finished it so i am not judging based on other people and spoilers… Expand

    If you are a casual gamer that dont really care about TLOU franchise, you might like this game.

    If you are a fan of TLOU 1, you will absolutely hate this game. Just awful awful bad writing. Graphics and gameplay are good, but its all wasted. I feel so bad for spending money on this game. I am just going to pretend TLOU 2 never happened, and enjoy TLOU part 1 as a true masterpiece.

    In my opinion, this game require open mind and interest in inner parts of the humans (No, not organs. I mean psychological components) to be able to fully appreciate the story and    I'll make it short. Don't listen to the people and play it for yourself. It’s a shame however that a large chunk of the gaming community can’t see its achievements simply because they can’t accept a plot twist.     To sum up:
    Gameplay: 4/10 - Copy-Paste from the previous game +/- some very tiny details. Be warned the game has a very slow pace in many parts. You might get a little annoyed, tired or bored...
    Story: 1/10 - Very socio/political agenda oriented. Not focusing to the games main issue/story. Builds new unwanted characters and stops the development of existing ones. The games derails from the main goal very soon and puts the player on a grudge track.... I thought we were trying to save the world not **** about personal issues here... i guess i was wrong.
    Graphics: 4/10 as expected for a 2020 game but nothing spectacular. GoW/the last couple of ACs and Uncharted 4 are on par with this game when it comes to graphics. Beautiful yes but nothing really revolutionary. Also very very dark... i don't know why. Maybe to push the whole dark theme. And unfortunately with dark themes in graphics you can hide a lot of detail or not use time to develop them at all..
    Soundtrack: 2/10. Dark to the borderline of depressing, FX not as good as similar other games.
    Overall : 1/10. I wanted to give it a better score but because of the great expectations it was a huge disappointment to me.... The fact that the story derails so much from the main theme of the game only to introduce a socio/political agenda is a deal breaker for me and all the music or graphics in the world would not make this a better game. i cannot justify 60 bucks for a title as bad as this. I would not recommend this to any of my friends either. I like them too much. 1/10 just for the people that worked their asses off to create this but had nothing to do with the story/direction.

    Absolutely no idea how you can possibly rate this 0 or 7 it’s either too scary for this triggered generation or there parents won’t tell them play it. It’s a solid 9 or 10 ! graphics are next gen, gameplay is better than the first one, only critic for the game is a lot of cut scenes. It’s set in Seattle maybe that’s why these trolls are so upset.

Joel is not used properly as a character, he's just a plot point.
