This game is trash it’s full of stupid politics and makes zero sense they murder a main character like he’s some random npc and push the lgbtq agenda how would you even be trans in the apocalypse there’s not enough time to be thinking about all that plus you can’t even get hormone therapy or a sex change since it’s the apocalypse and all plus after watching this piece of **** murder a main character now you have to play as her.     TLOU2 after 11 hours spent in the game = don't be distracted by the evaluation of people who behave like a small child when something is not according to him. TLOU2 is an absolutely great game. He pulls in and doesn't let go. 11 hours in 2 days. I am 40 years old. The game is absolutely amazing.

    The only good thing about this was the graphics. Without a good story there isn't fun gaming time. Simply a piece of trash! It was better if they never made a sequel.

    Same combat as in 2013. Great graphics. But the story tries too hard to be dark and edgy for the sake of it. The hope for a worthy payoff is what drives you to finish this, only for the ending to rub some extra salt into your wound

    everyone gonna ask why I gave this game low score. well....I ain't gonna lie, this game has a lot of good things, but compare to what company's have said, I don't thing the game is that masterpiece. Yes it's better than the first one but still it's not that great thing. but most importantly.......THE STORY. it seems like naughty dog forgot why we liked the first game. The game is lackingeveryone gonna ask why I gave this game low score. well....I ain't gonna lie, this game has a lot of good things, but compare to what company's have said, I don't thing the game is that masterpiece. Complete and utter rubbish and an insult, I stayed away from the leaks that ND said was not true and guess what everything about the leaks that I have now read are true. Sony and ND lied to everyone and they just don't care, Neil Druckman even has a collectors card in the game that I found where he awards himself 100 for intelligence.

    This game butchers the LORE for TLOU universe, Joel, Tommy and Ellie are like completely different people.

    The animations on the characters are just weird especially when walking in a scripted section, that GTA5 speed up and slow down is present even tho people swore it wasn't.

    Game play is no different from the first outing, there is nothing new going on and lots and lots of boring fillers to pad the fact out there is no story, no engaging story anyway.

    Neil Druckman said ND wants to shock the audience do things different do what other studios don't, other studios don't do this because this NDs approach and story telling this time does not work.

    The death of Joel is a complete insult not just that this nobody who is so wooden and boring kills him, but that it's out of your hands and whole thing is a cutscene, oh and Abbeys BF spits on Joels corpse that's the BF who is Druckmans double.

    The sex scene i'm still haunted about as it is just weird!

    I could go on but there is no point, Sony and ND are dead to me, they have lied in the build up to release and completely insulted a loyal fan base that had seven years invested.

    Especially in 2020 gaming is good to escape reality especially with lockdown and all the misery in the world, this game will just make you feel worse with it's hard left agenda, within the first ten minutes the word bigot is thrown around, Sony and ND are big on double standards and their behaviour to any criticism with certain Youtubers that called them out is outrageous.

    Anyway i'm ranting but i'm burned, oh and if any of the journos that found fault but still awarded a 10/10 your dead to me, any wonder why people go off the user reviews on here and tomatoes these days, journos award 10/10 out of fear so the left don't go after them, lose their job and get called a Nazi for not agreeing.    … Expand

    The game is fantastic at least for the first 3/4 of the game. The game had everything graphics, combat and a great story however the ending to the story was not as satisfying as I hoped it to be. However, I would still recommend purchasing the game as it is still a very good game and is still my favorite game of the year even though I didn't like the end of the story.

    The last of us part 2 continues from where the last of us left off, the people rating this low have obviously not played the first one. It is a great game so far (have only gotten halfway) and I have not been disappointed, just wish they brought back multiplayer. (I spent lots of long nights playing the factions mode) keep up the great work naughty dog you have yet to disappoint me.     I literally waited to play this game from the moment i heard it was in the making. And boy am i not impressed, in every possible way this game is a nightmare from its original self. The the worst part is getting rid of beloved characters to replace them with a bunch of lgbt ones for no reason.

    Absolutely fantastic, I’m about 15 hours in in two days. Fantastic story and game play. Playing on PS4 Pro and Qled 4K. Graphically it’s the best I’ve ever seen. Well done Naughty Dog!!

    Not even close to finishing it but I can tell already after playing like 2 hours it's an pice of art I'm absolutely loving it and can only recommend it. If you thinking about buying it go and do it it is worth it.

    If you're new to the series and this is your beginning gàme, it's a 6. The graphics, sound, gameplay, environments are all 10+. The reason, ONLY reason the game gets brought down to a 6 is the story. There's a 10 hour portion of the story that did not need to be in the game and if it wasn't there the game would absolutely have gotten a 10+. But, because this portion is in there, it breaksIf you're new to the series and this is your beginning gàme, it's a 6. The graphics, sound, gameplay, environments are all 10+. The reason, ONLY reason the game gets brought down to a 6 is the story. There's a 10 hour portion of the story that did not need to be in the game and if it wasn't there the game would absolutely have gotten a 10+. But, because this portion is in there, it breaks the protagonist/antagonist rules and kills the immersion of the story, leaves it confusing and absolutely breaks pacing of the game. Play the original Last of Us if you haven't, that game is a masterpiece. Now if you're a fan of the original game, this is a 1 because of that 10 hour portion. It'll leave you feeling sad, angry, disappointed, and betrayed by ND. The ending is completely cliche unlike the first game. I believe this is still worth a play for the first game fans, but watch the Twitch streams and wait till the game goes down to $30/$20.     Such a great follow up to the original. The story goes to places you wouldn't expect and forces you to deal with the choices made in the first game. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay just as tight if not better than the first. Don't sit on this one.

And the stealth mechanics are serviceable. Some of the environmental puzzles are smart and others do fall short. The shooting is passable at best but a bit cumbersome. They don’t behave logically as the first game has set them up. A third of the way of the game a character is removed for what seems to be no reason, which sets you on a unsatisfying, and unrewarding quest for revenge. This game being a story driven game, that really hurts the over all appeal of this I.P. The new characters are undeveloped and unlikeable. And in a dark and dystopian setting, there’s really not not to cheer for or get behind.… Expand

    If you loved the first game, this will be a total disappointment. The first game is one of the best games ever, but with this one they totally destroyed everything was great about the first one.

    It is a senseless, violent and dark game... As a fan of the first game, I feel totally mislead and cheated.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So first of all, Graphics/Audio/Atmosphere are on Top and I don't expect anything less from Naughty Dog as they showed that in Uncharted aswell as in the Last of Us Part 1

    What I don't understand is, how can such a renown Game Developer like Naughty Dog, that made Hits like an Uncharted mess up so badly.

    I personally liked the Game and how the Story started, Joels Death was tragic and horrifying and touched me deeply, and of course we want to see Justice for him. But you don't do that by killing the Majority of the People responsible for his Death and then let you play the Killer herself. IT MAKES NO SENSE.

    The Moment I got to play Abby I just wanted to find a Way to kill her and go back to Ellie, this is how much I hated her.

    I understand that Joel killed her Father and that Naughty Dog wanted to show the Reason why Abby killed Joel and make us feel with her. But please make her the Main Antagonist of the Game in the First Place and not a freaking Protagonist that you have to carry through the Story. The Deaths of her Friends (Manny, Owen, Nora, Mel, etc.) didn't touch me at all, I felt satisfied even after we got to know them a bit better. I couldn't empathize with at any point o the game. Especially after her killing one of the most beloved Characters in Game History.

    At the End of the Day its a Revenge Story, which is fine in itself, but why would you have to play the Revenge Story of 2 Characters at the same Time.

    Im disappointed, and sad, I waited so long for this game, and got so excited with all the Fan Theories, around Abby originally in the Trailer aswell as the Cult.    … Expand

The Last of us 2 in my eyes is actually The Last of us 3 in my opinion because the actual sequel fans wanted started off with the Joel segment at the beginning of the game and the game we actually wanted took place in that 4 year time gap between the first game and the 2nd game. We always expected Joel to die at some point in the series but we expected it in the 3rd game or at least 10 hours into the sequel but instead he dies an hour into the game and because of that fans are pissed and to be honest I think Naughty Dog should go back and take their time and really put effort into writing the game that takes place in those 4 years and release that and call it The Last of us 2 then they should change this game to The Last of us 3 and update the ending to have two choices if you Decide to kill Abby and get your revenge you get the sad ending where Ellie is alone but if you let Abby go then Ellie gets the Happy ending and gets to be with Dina and in this game that takes place within that 4 years they could actually explore Abby's character and show that she actually cares about people and the only thing she's angry over and wants revenge for is because Joel killed her father it would also introduce the characters on Abby's side more dynamically so it doesn't feel like these characters popped up out of nowhere and also fans would get the sequel they wanted even though they might not like the way The Last of us 2 went and this would fix a lot of that at least I think it would.… Expand

    Ok, so I took some time thinking about this. Played it, listened to views and what others had to say and I can't help but think there was so much wasted potential with this game. The usual things are true; the graphics are fantastic, the voice acting is great, and the environments are breath-taking. Unfortunately, then we get to the story and the characters. The Last of Us Part 2 isn't asOk, so I took some time thinking about this. The usual things are true; the graphics are fantastic, the voice acting is great, and the environments are breath-taking. Unfortunately, then we get to the story and the characters. The Last of Us Part 2 isn't as much of a game as it is a walking simulator with a few shooting sections and exposition based cutscenes. The levels exist as collectathons in between cutscenes which provide the entire plot. Whilst I appreciate the time and effort placed into trying to create a new story with serious consequences it falls flat at nearly every hurdle. We all know of the certain events which happened within the first few hours of the game with a certain character called Abby. We are then forced to play well over half the game as Abby learning about her backstory in the hope we feel sorry for them and it somehow makes us likes them. Sorry Naughty Dog but we hate Abby. You positioned her in such a way that you doomed her character from the state to be hated by all players. Would have been much more impactful to have the whole game happen and then Abby take out Joel, that way we would have already formed a bond with the new character making the end result more shocking. Furthermore, the ending is weak, almost a cop-out. Like ND couldn't find a good way to finish it so they didn't. After killing her way across the US and having remorse for no-one and seeing her friends and family killed along the way Ellie decides to let Abby live. Whilst some may see this as character development, it just makes the last 20-30 hours of gameplay worthless. Would be the equivalent of John Wick letting the man who killed his dog go after murdering literally everyone. There was so much potential for this game, so many avenues they could have taken, but this felt lacklustre and just didn't live up to it's own hype. Not to mention the part of the game you do get to play become incredibly tedious and monotonous very quickly. Run, walk, loot, walk, run, shoot, stab, walk, loot, run, all followed by nearly 10 hours of cutscenes. I feel as though if they were to keep the same story arc, It would have been beneficial to get to know and play with Abby before she did the unspeakable and then we were forced to play as her. Or the game would have been better if it had followed a different set of protagonists all together leaving Joel and Ellie alone. As a cinematic experience its amazing, as a game it is ok, as a sequel and a conclusion to one of the most anticipated stories in video game history. It's not good. It get a 4 just because the story is weak, characters are unlikeable and unrecognisable in some instances and the ending feels like they didn't know what to do so they did nothing. Hopefully will serve as a lesson to these AAA developers that if you mess with the characters people love, it won't end well and people won't like it. The main positive i'll give this game is that it is not afraid to kill off major characters in throw away scenes, but it does mean we just don't care about any of them.… Expand

    False advertising, they showed Joel in one scene in the trailer, making you think that he would come with Ellie on her journey. But in the actual game, it was another person who said the same line. Unnecessary violence just for shock value. TLOU2 is one of the most disgusting video game in history. Just save your money guys. Stay away.

    The game always reminds you about its violence, only to yell 'hey, maybe revenge is bad' at the end. No part of this story makes sense.

This is nonsense, a game shouldn’t be tamed with left or right views but rather a good story that invokes a strong sense of attachment for the characters and their development. The anticipation for the sequel was subsequent from the good story telling of the first one. This is just ridiculous, whoever thought this plot was the best idea clearly has not learned from both Game of Thrones and Last Jedi. All of that talent wasted, you best believe I’m not buying Part III and I would like to play as either a female or male. By the way the only good parts of this game were the flashbacks.     The story is boring I will be honest I don't like at all it is nowhere near as compelling as the first BUT I did like the gameplay and Ellie... Until the halfway point when the game does the whole switcheroo and the game becomes extremely repetitive with unlikable characters and even more bland story pieces.

    Even Ellie becomes just plain stupid and does things that just make no sense or feel seriously out of character for her?

    I am honestly so let down that the game nose dives into mediocre at the half way mark as I honestly enjoyed my time in the first half I understand people are review bombing this game but I gave the game a fair shot and even finished it. It is such a shame as the first is regarded as one of PlayStations greats! Even I gave it a 8! for Solid story but repetitive gameplay.

    I personally never felt The Last of Us ever needed a sequel and my opinion was correct at least for some. If you enjoy the game more power to you but I feel this is a out of pace mess.    … Expand

    - The environment is beautiful, honestly one of the best-looking games I’ve played.
    - The gameplay is improved on compared to the first game, not completely overhauled but improvements in upgrading and the addition of new items and ways to improve your skill tree is welcomed and makes the second playthrough viable to max out the character on the new game plus option should you wish to do it.
    - The flashback sequence with Joel and Ellie at the museum was perfect, that should have been the story not what was given, that’s the only point I thought this feels like The last of us in storytelling and I will give praise for that.

    Now onto the negatives...

    -The treatment of characters is disgusting, Joel has had his character essentially stripped back to be viewed as a monster compared to original and it just angers me rather than saddens me that his death is handled the way it is and that essentially rather than let the player interpret the original ending in their own way, make it clear in black and white you shouldn't be okay with what he did, that doesn't sit right with me. Everyone on Abby's part of the story I just don't care about, her included because we've spent the entire first game playing Joel's story and seeing his loss and these people kill him and not only are we forced to play as them but sympathise with them? That isn't how I felt. Jesse I liked maybe due to his lack of involvement but then he dies, just out the blue without much drama around it. Tommy at the end is seen as some bitter only out for revenge monster and you can't even blame him.
    - The gameplay is repetitive I found myself getting bored after about 8 hours and the game is about 20/23 hours depending how fast you're going through your first playthrough. It was a slog to play and on the first run that’s not good.
    - The writing in general, its honestly baffling. Ellie making decisions that literally 20 minutes before she states she wouldn't make the plot holes are noticeable. The entire end act of the game is about Ellie being so consumed by revenge that she leaves the life she has with Dina and the baby to kill Abby finally and then by the end, doesn't even do it. I don't understand the point behind this.

    I honestly could say a lot more but honestly, I’m just sad, I could be angry which in terms of the writing I absolutely am but overall I’m just sad that my favourite game in the last of us, has received a sequel that honestly, just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and leaves me not accepting that anything was made beyond the end of part one because i'd rather that was the case. Neil Druckman doesn't deserve the level of abuse he was and likely still is receiving but that doesn't mean you can’t point out that he ruined this sequel and franchise by delivering some cliché revenge is bad story while butchering the very characters that made the last of us what it is. I honestly didn’t expect this, I didn’t expect it to be as good as part one but I definitely didn’t expect it to be such a betrayal of the characters from the original game.    … Expand

After many years of work and the long time between the games, I had expected to see a masterpiece but what I got was a burning pile of **** The gameplay is still just as good as the original and the graphics are just as good. However, the story is riddled with plot holes, the character development makes no sense what so ever. I had sat through the whole game and after it was over, I was very confused about what had naught dog was thinking. With killing off the main character just for shock, and then letting the murderer's walk was a waste of an amazing chance to make Ellie shine in a way that wasn't possible in the original. The characters are shallow with no depth. After this entire time and my 80 dollars for a pre-order, I could not be more pissed off at this game and the developers. I have played games that were free, that had better storylines and character development. Please do not waste your time and money like I did.… Expand

    Recomiendo este juego? Pues claro, solo para regalárselo a alguien que odies.

    I like the idea of how the ending of Uncharted (straight) was also the best The Last Of Us (homosexual) was the same. Compliment to all the company of Naughty Dog and to the director Neil Druckmann who managed to represent also the other part off the love.
    Which is completely natural but which has been the historical victim of renegades and secular punishments.
    Open the minds that we are in 2020 after Christ.
