I would like to give my point of view towards this game I have already 50% of the game and let me say that it could easily be the person with the most hype in the world of this game but a pity that a person who inserted himself in the game It will kill me all the **** hype, my criticism if it is the development of a silly story and without purpose as it is in last of us 2, you could have done better things with all the characters, instead of fulfilling a fantasy and **** in the characters, I want to make clear that you have to listen to those who are truly fans, the damage done this, you should listen more to those who feed you and not to those who just want to add things so that it is to everyone's liking, since you screwed up the **** the last of us 2, you can't make everyone happy and you can never make all communities happy, so instead of locking yourself in a bubble Neil D. you should accept that what you really spat was in your fans, and I hope this fails if it is never repeated… Expand

    The game play, graphics and music are all there. I see the way the story is trying to show the cycle of violence but could have been told with better pacing. The talent and effort from naughty dog can be seen but the story has some good ideas but is not executed in the best light.

    The game is awesome, has amazing graphics, it's so intense, emotional. About the story, it's not a game everyone understands, just mature people.

Игра слила почти всех нормальных персонажей и добавила никому не нужную линию антагонистКИ, про которую я лучше промолчу. И да, я проиграл всего несколько часов и забросил, ибо уже тошнило. Played and finished the first one like seven times which means I, like any other true fan built a bond, a relationship with Joel and Ellie. So, when the second game brutally destroyed Joel in front of Ellie, I accepted it in the beginning because it does build a strong story/plot. Where i changed my mind and did not agree on however, is when we had to play as Abby. The lady who killed Joel like he was thrash and especially in the end when Ellie let Abby go without killing her after the look that Joel gave Ellie right before Abby smashed his head in. How can a true fan just let that go. I honestly dont give a rats behind on what happened to Abbys dad nor do i care about any of her friends who had a part to do with Joels death, if it was up to me, kill them all. "You are pregnant?: BAM! You have a family? BAM! Awh you love each other, BAM! What i am saying is, i would have cared more about Abby and the group if all they did was beat Joel to a coma but he still lived, then the ending would have been wayyy more understanding and acceptable. Killing Joel was a huge dissapointment especially since we have to play Abby in the second act, all i know is i will never ever play this game again. Naughty dog basically ruined it for me. Now if they ever make another game, I will wait for the review rather than pre order it. I can never trust the company again to make a fair solid story. #justiceforJoelmiller #Joelslifematter… Expand

    One of the worst story sequels I have ever had the displeasure to play. Neil you are a disgrace. The follow up to goat simulator has a better narrative. You and your writers should be hang your heads in shame. Play the first hour then call it a day and think of it as an extended DLC to the original. Do not continue past this you have been warned.

    Firstly I would like to say that I never completed the first game purely because I didn’t like the gameplay but I Ioved the story so much that I watched a full walkthrough on youtube. Normally with me if I don’t enjoy the gameplay on ANY game, I will stop playing and will forget about the game like I never played it, but not with The Last Of Us. The first game is    Oh boy, where to begin...

    Firstly I would like to say that I never completed the first game purely because I didn’t like the gameplay but I Ioved the story so much that I watched a full walkthrough on youtube. Normally with me if I don’t enjoy the gameplay on ANY game, I will stop playing and will forget about the game like I never played it, but not with The Last Of Us. The first game is DEFINITELY one of the best written games ever and the connection you had between yourself and the characters is so amazing that you didn’t even have to play the game to feel that way, and even though I didn’t enjoy the gameplay I personally feel that the story was AT LEAST 9/10. And now moving onto the second game...

    I want to say that when the games plot leaked originally I didn’t mind and I thought it would just get better by context, but oh man I was 100% wrong. I Then started to panic a bit when it was coming out that 70% of the studio left because they didn’t like the way the game was heading and the way they treated their staff leading up to the release of this game (AKA Johnathan Cooper). And then that leaves us up till now, when the game has released. I have seen pretty much a walkthrough of the whole game missing out some parts like the middle but overall I know what this game is. All I have to say is Neil Druckmann and Anita Sarkeesian should NEVER be allowed to go anywhere near the gaming industry EVER AGAIN. And before people start to call me a homophobe, this is not the reason I HATE this game it is because of...

    1. The absolute HORRENDOUS character development/writing. You could genuinely remove some of these people from the game and it would make a difference AT ALL.
    2. The CLEAR AGENDA THEY ARE SHOVING DOWN EVERYONES THROATS. Politics shouldn’t be in games unless it is significant and essential to the games story/plot.
    3. The DISRESPECT they have shown fans from the first game because this is EVERYTHING WE DIDN’T WANT. I could think of a hundred better directions this game could have gone in.
    4. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I COULD GO ON FOREVER AND EVER.

    I honestly don’t want to go on because what they have done to this franchise is CRIMINAL and the disrespect they have shown characters that we fell in love with in the original is nothing short of disgusting. I could go over so much more but it genuinely makes me sad, don’t get me wrong this game is beautiful in terms of graphics and it’s gameplay looks much better than the first but the reason we fell in love with the last of us is because of the story. AND THEY COMPLETELY DESTROYED IT. I honestly can’t believe they thought this was a good idea and in my eyes, there is only ONE The Last Of Us.    … Expand

    Graphics - oh well, that's amazing. Actually - that's the only good thing about this game. The quality of 3D mogels and textures is breathtaking... but man, those animations. If only anything else in this game had this quality!
    So let's get down to bussiness - aside from few annoying bugs, there is one glaring problem with this game. Story. The writing.
    THE ONE MAIN THING, that made TLOU 1 game of the generation.
    Writing in TLOU 2 is just bad. And I'm not talking about things people were "shocked" in spoilers and leaks. It's bad - yeah, THAT bad or even worse, because there is lot more sh*tting on game we all loved, than spoilers shown. But I mean also a writing all along the way is bearly ok. You can just feel, that people who crafted TLOU 1 with love ain't working on this one. It's like this game was written by someone with inferiority complex, who hated their predecesors and wanned to hurt them, by destroing their legacy.
    And people jump the wagon of hate because of minority depiction and so on. I don't care if Abby is trans or not, as well as I don't care if Ellie is gay or not. What I do care is poor writing choices, that forces you to do cruel things, just to imidietly scold you for it. It's seems like it was written by someone, whos biggest writing achivement up to date, was writing imaginary arguments with people who he didn't like, and winning with poor artificial arguments. Smartest things this game have to offer is "killing is bad", "revange is wrong". No shait Sherlock. You just killed hundreds to spew that idiotiy...
    In the end, I belive this game is biggest miss in Sonys history, worst game that Naughty Dog ever made. It really is as people call it - 8th season of GoT or Last Jedi of the franchise.
    It's a show of one poor actor that injected himself into the game (at least twice!), to show to whole world, that he have mental issues. And he do! But to be honest - he needs help, real help. Insted, someone gave him few million $ brand, to jugle with his own mental problems.
    To sum it up - if you like TLOU 1 = AVOID like a plague.
    If you never played TLOU 1 = why do you even bother?    … Expand

As the beginning i want to say that it was obvious: second part had really small chances to jump over the first. I love all Naughty dogs games, pre-ordered new ones and bought copies of remastered after completing them on previous consoles. Watching the trailers and game play was preparing me for perfect AI, planning strategy and enjoy the adventure.
    Creators succeed in some of that. AI still works weird, sometimes they hear my steps, in other situation they cannot see me face to face. Hope this will be fixed in future patches or in real life game level. Shooting is almost the same as in first part, not all enemies die after head shot, people are alive after shotgun shooting. Melee fighting is full of blood and violence, it's probably the best part which i liked in this game.
    Stealth is not variable, the amount of bullets is really small again, it looks much more funny, when in some scenes and clips the amount of ammo is infinite.
    Physics, optimization and graphics are awesome, i am not a specialist, but this game works in HDR 4K without freezes and lags, loading is super short comparing to Uncharted 4 for example.
    Storytelling: I've got the main idea about violence forwards us to more violence and Elly decides that enough of that. That everybody is equal and we have to protect our private life and don't be shame of that. But Naughty dog, answer please, why you give me to play for steroid woman, who kills our favorite hero, who all game follows pretty guy, who doesn't want to be with her because of her mental sickness, she doesn't want kids, she doesn't want to be happy, she doesn't want to live peacefully, all her life is war and vengeance. Why the most dramatic moments are going around pregnant women? You are showing us strong independent girls, who anyway become women, with letter W. They need love and understanding, doesn't matter how they look like, they are following their basic instincts. Even after all this story of Abby, i didn't feel anything good about her, her father didn't want to give Elly a chance to live and any of us would do the same as Joel. Elly made friends to go far way away from home to payback and she stops after that, becomes mommy? Saving Abby's life after she felt bad all these years, seeing flashbacks, cannot sleep, with Dina? Are you serious?
    I am disappointed and really sorry. Sorry for the creators of the first part. I was ready for the propaganda of feminism and lg bt, even about comparing/showing religion as some sect and showing how girl wants to become a boy, but writers destroyed our story, our love, which we felt about father and daughter. Tries of showing bad guys as good ones didn't succeed. Thanks for showing cuts with Joel, It was really strong. Thanks for the game, even after all my negative experience, it's still better than 90% of games today. You crushed one more second part in history of movies and gaming, after all these licks and how you act with your workers i give 3/10, because their work has been destroyed. ''I don't think i can ever forgive you for that. But i would like to try.'' You followed hype and your own wishes, instead of listening to the fans and ignoring our feelings, hope you will learn from this. If i knew what will be in the game, i won't buy it.     Great game and definitely a great way to finish the story of the first game but I think they should have thought it through alot more than having to wait till mid way through the game to really understand what they were doing (playing as abbie) felt like a good thing but I felt like this went on for a couple of hours to long and wanted to spend more time in the past or watching Ellie but apart from switching between Ellie and Abbey it's was amazing and worked so well to tell a story from so many different peoples perspectives n    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The original game TLOU didn't have extraordinary gameplay, but what made it an amazing game was the setting and the storytelling.

    TLOU2 is the same as TLOU in terms of refine gameplay but nothing groundbreaking, so the only thing left is to see how the story unfolds from the original. Save yourself the trouble and money, just watch a stream or video of the storyline to understand the outrage it has caused.

    Naughty Dog tries to be shocking (not innovative) by killing the main character you come to know and are attached. Make you play as the killer to try and garner some sympathy votes. Of course they will think the review bombing has to do with hating LGBT, however it has nothing to do with that and more with the terrible storytelling about revenge where no one is the winner and nothing is resolved.

    Just imagine watching a TV show you enjoy and they replaced the main character after season 2 with a brand new face / character who you dont know and dislike (most likely), and they try to forced feed you something different. Thats not why you started to watch the show originally.

    It's a shame Naughty Dog won't learn from this mistake but kudos for being remembered for being controversial.    … Expand

    I want to give an honest review, without being angry or biased. This game is beatifull, probably the best looking game on the ps4. The gameplay is very good and probably better than the first game with new moves and action. Everything goes together. But, the game stay on the same note for the entire game making it enjoyable at first but boring with time. I am not a game critic so i willI want to give an honest review, without being angry or biased. This game is beatifull, probably the best looking game on the ps4. The gameplay is very good and probably better than the first game with new moves and action. Everything goes together. But, the game stay on the same note for the entire game making it enjoyable at first but boring with time. I am not a game critic so i will not try to explain everything. The biggest problem with the game is the characters, the story and the antagonist. It’s not the worst thing i have seen but a fan of the first game will hate every thing about it. Abby, the new character is the worst part of this game. I don’t know why we have to play as her but it’s bad. Basically, the game want to make us love the antagonist more, it doesn’t work. The other problem is the political agenda in this game. It’s cringy because it’s almost always a big red arrow screaming “ LOOK, WE HAVE DIVERSITY ! ”. It doesn’t feel natural at all, TLOU 1 was very good with it diversity. They were just survivors, not icons to represent one group that ND wanted to show. So yeah, i give it a 6, not terrible but very disappointing.… Expand

    Para empezar pierde todo de lo que se trataba el 1 paso de un survival zombie a ser una serie de netflix, tiene buenos graficos y escenarios estupendos pero lo que falto para atraerme fue la historia no se compara en nada a la entrega anterior aparte de que las cinematicas duran mucho mas y se vuelve aburrido al igual que escenas innecesarias y para nada una jugabilidad innovadora.

So here is what I think: Pros: - gameplay - graphics - atmosphere - sound - music All those parts are undeniable very good. Its top notch. Sure the controls sometimes feel weird but they do in most of the games. It would be unfair to say this game isnt up to date in terms of all those points I mentioned. Cons: - story - character design - character development - plot holes So, even with all the pros this game is really really bad. It makes NO sense that Ellie act how she acts in certain parts of the game but that isnt even the biggest thing about why its bad. The reason is: character development. If you kill one of the most beloved characters early in the game (Joel) and want to bring in new main playable characters like Abby, you HAVE to bring WAY more backstory in order to make the player feel with her. I mean she KILLED Joel! How do you make the player like her? Bring more and more backstory before she does that. Let the players play 2-10h as Abby when she was a child or whatever. The backstory of her is basically told in 10minutes and then her dad is being killed. Thats it? And now I have to feel with her and understand why she killed Joel? Hell no! That is weak story telling. Really really weak. Then there are all the other new characters. Nobody is likeable. Like really. They all feel empty. They are only shells without any meaning. This game is just bad. Do yourself a favor and dont buy it. The reviews the journalists wrote are either bought by Sony or ND or are heavily politicly influenced. Sad thing is: because of that same journalists will most likely make this game GOTY. What a joke. Safe your money and buy something else. And last but not least: this is technically a very good game but the story/characters is/are SO bad it just doesnt matter how well the rest is done. You want a good revenge story? Watch "Oldboy" then you know how to make a good revenge story that shocks everybody to their core. This game right here? Its garbage. End of story… Expand

    i finished rn these game and in my opinion the story of part 2 was better than the part 1, but, i do not enjoy the political messages that The Last of Us Part II was forcing and forcing to tell to the gamer. Also the game has a little time of gameplay, is like 80% cinematics, and 20% of gamepllay, so... if i want to see a story im i do prefer watch a movie or read a book

Joel would never make a mistake like this. He was a badass, at least give him a noble death. The central of the game was the relationship between Joel and Ellie and right at the beginning, Joel is gone. It's not about the fact that he died. IT'S HOW HE DIED!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sad and disappointed. I loved the first game so much and it feels like the sequel just screwed everything over. After all the leaks I had at least hoped that the relationships between the characters would keep me going - but it didn't.

    Beloved characters acted completely out of character, best example Joel's death early into the game that was caused by him walking into a group of strangers and giving them his name - which seems so weird when you think about the Joel we met in the first game.

    The game was filled with unnecessary, very graphic violence and torture p*rn at some points. I remember someone saying that this game is "rarely any fun" and that's right - the game isn't fun at all, it's depressing. And not in a good way because most of the characters in the game are so uninteresting to the story that you don't particularly mourn them. It's just boring.

    The graphics are of course outstanding and the acting is very good, even though some dialogue seems very forced and unnatural. I liked the flashback scenes with Joel - this is what I would've wanted more. More Joel, more hope. But all I was left with was Ellie, left alone by her friends and her love, missing 2 fingers, letting the one who killed Joel live and going off into the wild.

    I really hope they don't make Part 3, I don't think they can fix this.    … Expand

    An incredibly worthy sequel to one of the best games ever. Try avoiding spoilers, they hold absolutely no value without the context of the game. Going in cold is very rewarding. The sound design, acting, graphics and animations are best in class and represent a great way to cap of the PS4 generation. A must-have game, especially if you liked the first one.

The sound, accessibility settings, and enemy movements, are other aspects that were improved mightly, and as a game, this one actually plays better than the original game. However, these improvements aren't enough to make up for the story that they gave fans.

    What a slap in the face that was. Beloved characters were treated terribly and often made decisions that didn't match up with who we had seen them as before. A specific example is within the first 2 hours of the game, many of you will know what I'm talking about. I actually liked Jesse and Dina, although they were a bit underdeveloped as they focused more on building up unlikable characters. The first 10 hours is actually pretty good, but then there is roughly a 10 hour section of the game that was incredibly boring and frustrating to play as no matter what the writers did, it wouldn't change my opinion on the characters they focused on. There was only one enjoyable part during that section, which isn't enough to make up for the rest of it.

    Then the writers make you dislike that character even more and it makes you think that you'll actually get a satisfying resolution just to end up getting an extremely sad and anticlimactic ending that ultimately made no sense.

    I never wanted a sequel, as I wasn't sure that they could recapture the spark, and boy did my fears come true. Naughty Dog really missed the mark here.    … Expand
