    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. un juego que cae en la inclusividad forzando un personaje trans y desprestigiando un personaje querido por todos, matándolo de una forma absurda que rompe con las bases que planteo en la primera entrega, como opinión personal cuando algo rompe o contradice lo planteado por si mismo todo lo que continuo carece de sentido y arruina todo lo demás, esto no puede ser aceptado en un juego que se basa en la narrativa ademas de lo inclusivo que trata de ser sin importar nada parece ser un juego feminista, lgtb y todas esas idea, duele mucho.
    si bien joel no era un personaje muy bueno no merecía morir de esa forma, no tengo idea de como es que aprobaron esa idea, el personaje inclusivo pudo ser aceptado de mala gana pero aceptado, el problema es que lo trataran de esa forma y trataron de darle mas valor haciendo que mate de una forma tan humillante a un personaje tan querido para mi arruinaron todo si bien visualmente y en base a la jugabiidad están bien, no siento que sea una secuela digna y pagar por algo mal echo no vale la pena seria incluso contraproducente por que las demás empresas pensaran que eso esta bien y tienen que hacerlo para sobresalir. Una decepción total ya que si lo vas a jugar por el mundo visual que ofrece te recomiendo mil veces jugar fallout o ahorrar ese dinero que tenias planeado para comprar el the last of us 2 esperar y comprar la siguiente entrega de the elder scrolls que presenta o presentara un mundo mucho mejor en base al disfrute del mismo en ves de comprar este que se supone que te tiene que dar una narrativa que disfrutes y te atraiga al final solo terminaras jugando con un ceño fruncido durante todo el tiempo molesto por lo que te presentaron mejor ahórrate esos problemas de enojo, monetario y para el hígado ( dependiendo de como seas jugando lo que si estarás molesto independientemente de como seas temperamentalmente). Como conslusion no te recomiendo para nada el juego no vale ni gratis y si ya tienes una copia mejor realiza un vídeo destruyéndolo y consigues mas disfrute ya sea ganando algo de dinero subiéndolo a una plataforma de vídeos o mostrando la destrucción del juego a tus amigos lo disfrutaras mas.    … Expand

    The game is full of activism and the goal is to show the mentality of the developers.
    Absurd graphics, very good gameplay, really cool semi-open scenery, but the really bad story worthy of an Oprah Winfrey program.

    The game may not be as great as the first version, but it's unique in its kind. You feel hatred in the game and you want revenge. In the game, each character gives himself the right to do whatever he wants from his own point of view

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Have read many many comments on Metacritic which share similar sentiment. I actually agreed completely while reading them but then the approach ND took clicked for me. While not executed well - their whole point with this game was to reinforce in this dystopia there is no good or bad, and that even though we perceive Ellie and Joel to be 'better' than other characters ultimately everyone is just trying to survive the same as them. The love all fans have for Joel is supposed to initially cause outrage when he is killed by this random character and then the actions of Ellie in the pursuit of revenge are slowly supposed to open our eyes to the fact that even the most beloved characters can turn into monsters. I 'think' we are supposed to begin questioning Abby's own past before we flashback to her story and then begin sympathising with her character before the final outcome of the story.

    This is poorly done by ND for a number of reasons:
    1. They underestimated how great the bond between most fans and Ellie/Joel was. Further to this they underestimated peoples idea of what Joel and Ellie's characters are. Many people complained about Ellie not being Ellie in this game. Initially I would have agreed but after some thought I now understand ND were trying to show history repeating itself the same way it did for Joel with Sarah's death. The failure with this is there WAS NOT a strong support to replace Ellie, which left the game feeling empty throughout.
    2. They forced political correctness into the equation for no reason. Flavour of the month LGBT characters were so unnecessarily present in this game. Multiple times conversations can be heard from side characters talking about their L/G lovers. I have absolutely no issue with presenting any of the characters in this way but when 90% of the romantic relationships being displayed are non-straight it feels almost like ND were trying (and failing) to be satirical and takes away from the story.
    3. The order of execution was not done correctly, at all. LOU 1 had an absolutely insane beginning to the game. 15-20 minutes of game play then BAM! Huge curveball, Sarah is dead and Joel is crushed. Fade to black and BOOM we are 10 years down the line. By comparison this game gave away the spoiler before it happened without any kind of reasoning as to why it happened. I spent over an hour after Joel was killed wondering when he was going to jump out on Ellie and yell - "Surprise!", only to be sorely disappointed. But that doesn't mean the story was bad, just that it was poorly told. Imagine the same events happening in a different order: Fade in, backstory about whats happened the last few years with Joel and Ellie, Joel and his brother prepare to go on patrol (same as any other day), run into this stranger while on patrol, save her and head to where she has made camp as its only way they'll survive. SURPRISE! She actually came out looking to kill him all along. Now we play out largely the same story from here. Ellie gets in a standoff with this mysterious stranger. Stranger SHARES her story with Ellie while still in standoff. We continue on from there. Maybe leave in the option for Ellie to kill or spare Abby at the end (really depends if a game 3 is being setup or not from ND perspective though). But holy **** how much better would the exact same plot be in this case???
    4. Also: Scrap the Ellie x Dina stuff, scrap the stuff with Abby and Owen. The love stories were both sold so poorly with nowhere near enough buildup (and more importantly, no-one cared anyway). Small references through dialogue could have achieved the exact same effect. This isn't an anti LGBT thing, its anti poor story telling. LOU1 had hints with Joel and Tess that were so much more effective because they were subtle, heck even Ellie with her female friend/crush in the DLC was done better than this - and that was DLC, content deemed not good enough to be in the main game!

    Anyone who took the time to read this, much appreciated. Hopefully I've helped others also see the game a little more sympathetically. Sadly the reality is a game with alot of potential, that falls short where it matters most, the story. I gave 6 as I think less than this is an insult to the team of creators of which most (maybe even all) 'tried' to make an amazing sequel but miscalculated slightly. I hope if a 3rd game does come they will return to the storytelling approach from the first game.    … Expand

    Let me be as clear as possible, this may be the worst sequel to a video game iv ever played. The characters, terrible. The story, even worse. The only good quality this game poses is its graphics, I play on the oldest model of PS4 and it looks awesome. Other than that, bad game.

    It feels forced, it doesent feel natural. If you are trans/bisexual, so be it, but do not make a big deal out of it, as if its superior or any more noteworthy than a straight guy/girl.
    Actually you do not even have to mention it. It is absolutly meaningless for any sane person anyway, because it doesent mean anything anyway.

    With that said, lets begin and talk about whats really really problematic in this game.
    Its the inconsistancy of the characters. The characters do not behave the way from what we have learned about them in the first game. This is why the user gets the idea that the story is forced.
    When a story is forced and you sacrifice any logical character development for it (just to make a point), its only right to see a specific motive behind it that far exceeds the game itself alone. It is then influenced heavily by the authors "own view" no matter what came before it.
    Thats a death sentence for any book, story or whatever.

    The game itself plays like any other Naughty Dog that came before it. Many cutscenes, areas with a narrow path, heavily story driven. Unfortunatly the story is nothing worthwhile and i do not recommend it.    … Expand

Since the first hour of the published I have been playing Part II and I was in a great mood ...All combat mechanics, local character ...As a "negative" point, I can say that we had to play a large part with Abby and Joel had to die at the beginning.     The first few hours are amazing then once you get to the city it all just goes down hill quick. And I wanted to love this game so much, 7 years of waiting and they let you down. Not even a dlc could fix there mistakes.

Jumbled up timeline (reducing the score by 4 for this as it was a colossal screw up). I dont care about the people who were killed, give me the backstory before not after they die; I would care more and be less annoyed by the writing. The puzzles, just trash them pls. The combat, try something new after 7 years pls. The jump button is one of the worst implemented I have seen for a while.
    The atmosphere and visuals were cool, same with the music and voice acting. The writing was awful for a naughty dog title for a while but it hit its stride at some points (especially flashbacks for Ellie and Abby). SO mediocre, I wish i hadnt played it tbh. Alright so where to begin with this game, when it was first announced and the trailers started to circulate it looked solid overall and looked like it was going to be a great sequel to a beloved game. However, as more and more content for the game was shown it was very obvious that this wasn't going to go well. This game is an example of trying to appeal to everyone which isn't necessarily a bad thing but the way it's executed is done poorly, they make large changes to characters that don't make any sense. Joel went from being a well-rounded and cautious individual to essentially saying "yeah lets go into this lodge with these strangers" which was clearly done just so they could kill off the character. Then you have what they do to pretty much every female in the game, they make them buff and look nothing like a female and while I can understand that not every female is going to look like what is considered conventional, but it's jarring when you walk up to what looks like this buff macho dude and then they have the most feminine voice ever. Now it's on to the story, the first half of the game where you play Ellie I'd say is genuinely somewhat enjoyable and things are running fine. The game however takes a sharp turn when Joel meets a 9 iron to the face and the story just turns sloppy. The worst part about this game is the second half where you end up in the shoes of this character that the game tries desperately to get you to like, trying so hard to make you sympathize with the character but it just doesn't work because while some of the actions Joel and Ellie have made are bad, it doesn't take away the players love for the characters. So then it turns into this hatred towards your own character and you're just hoping that she ends up getting killed somehow. Then to top it all off you have the worst thing I think I have ever seen in a game, a self-insert sex scene between Owen (literally the likeness Neil Druckmann) and Abby, it is genuinely disgusting to see and is the cherry on top for one of the worst games of 2020. If you don't care at all about the story, go ahead and try this, you'll get some enjoyment out of it as the game play is ok, but if you're like me and plenty other TLOU fans don't even give this a try.… Expand

I felt it had a perfect balance of left leaning themes that were not so obnoxious as to ruin an amazing story. This one has thrown all caution to the wind and has produced a game that no one who aren't pink haired college students could enjoy.

    Usually, I don't bother to write reviews, I know that most original stories coming out these days will be SJW nonsense, but when you see the sequel to such an engaging IP do this, it's sad. And hypocritical. There is a 'romance scene' in this game that is downright disgusting but Sony will allow that but if a Japanese game has a female character showing cleavage, that's censored. I will not buy a PS5 due to this game and their ridiculous double standards.    … Expand

    This game is just great, the story, the scenery, the characters, everything about it is just amazing.
    It's a great revenge story, and I don't get why people didn't like it.

    It's **** I haven't played it myself because I was skeptical and didn't want to throw 60 dollars down the drain so I just watched a full walkthrough, and man am I glad I saved those 60 bucks, I urge you to do the same, truely just a disappointments.

    I have never played a better game. Gameplay is so nice and satysfying but not easy. Story made me cry, laugh, smile a lot. LGBT is not a problem for me, just normal things like love. The second part comparing to The first one is about other values, much more disturbing. I love basically everything about this game, details( it's a beautiful game),story, gameplay. Storyline is surprisingI have never played a better game. Gameplay is so nice and satysfying but not easy. Story made me cry, laugh, smile a lot.     Hola... lo he comprado con mucha ilusión, pero.. me ha parecido muy aburrido, gráficos mucho peor de lo que me esperaba y gameplay repetitivo.. y la historia/guión horrible..y no es una review bombing :-), siempre me han gustado los juegos de Naughty Dog, pero este, al menos las primeras horas, muy tedioso. uuff.     So, even with all the pros this game is really really bad. It makes NO sense that Ellie act how she acts in certain parts of the game but that isnt even the biggest thing about why its bad.
    The reason is: character development.
    If you kill one of the most beloved characters early in the game (Joel) and want to bring in new main playable characters like Abby, you HAVE to bring WAY more backstory in order to make the player feel with her.
    I mean she KILLED Joel!
    How do you make the player like her? Bring more and more backstory before she does that. Let the players play 2-10h as Abby when she was a child or whatever. The backstory of her is basically told in 10minutes and then her dad is being killed. Thats it? And now I have to feel with her and understand why she killed Joel?
    Hell no!
    That is weak story telling. Really really weak.

    Then there are all the other new characters. Nobody is likeable. Like really. They all feel empty. They are only shells without any meaning.

    This game is just bad. Do yourself a favor and dont buy it. The reviews the journalists wrote are either bought by Sony or ND or are heavily politicly influenced. Sad thing is: because of that same journalists will most likely make this game GOTY. What a joke.

    Safe your money and buy something else.

    And last but not least: this is technically a very good game but the story/characters is/are SO bad it just doesnt matter how well the rest is done.

    You want a good revenge story? Watch "Oldboy" then you know how to make a good revenge story that shocks everybody to their core.

    The game is boring, the only thing they improved from the firs one is the graphics, everything else is the same or worse and dont even let me begin with the story, the lack of good characters made it feel empty and i just couldnt empathise with anyone. I feel sorry for the poor designers that did such a good job in the graphics but the story and the gameplay is awfull, not recomendable.

    I went into this game with completely open eyes. I didn’t see a single spoiler, thought the people who had seen the spoilers were overreacting and needed more context, was keeping a completely open mind, and had this blind faith in Naughty Dog because I genuinely believed that this would be the last studio that would screw up a story. I’m just completely devastated because of what could have been. Through the game you could see moments of it, but they’re the subplots, not the main one. The only character I felt invested in or even just found interesting was Dina, and personally I just couldn’t get enough of her. But as someone who grew up with Ellie, was a similar age and really just related to Ellie, the fact that she wasn’t on the forefront of my mind throughout this game was a big miss, and it just feels like to me that they butchered her character for the sake of a message. On top of that, it felt like they were trying to hard to compare (insert name here)‘s story to Ellie’s, and it just didn’t feel natural. Whilst I could see what they were going for, they just couldn’t pull it together, with an ending that just made me ask the question ‘what were they trying to do here ?’

    My only hope for the future is that Naughty Dog can learn from this, because I honestly think it’d kill me to see this happen to Uncharted, another series I love so freaking much. The main problem they need to learn from in my opinion is that you can’t build a story around a message you want to convey, it’s the other way around. I’m still going to support them because this (for me, at least) will be the only blip on their record of fantastic games, and I do really look forward to seeing the stories of Chloe, Sam, Nadine and even Sully continue on. I do, however, think they need to leave The Last of Us alone for the sake of their fans. TL;DR: The Last of Us: Part 2 gives me the same feeling as season 8 of Game of Thrones all over again. Everything about it is perfection EXCEPT the story, which given the fact it’s a Naughty Dog game of all studios, shouldn’t be the case. And like season 8 of Game of Thrones, part of me wants to just forget it existed in order to restore the legacy of the original seasons/story    … Expand

Acabei de terminar o jogo com 22 horas de conclusão, o jogo é bom em vários aspectos graficos, jogabilidade e trilha sonora mas ele da um tapa na cara dos jogadores com a cena da morte do Joel pois ela é ridícula e mal feita, acredito que o Joel deveria ter morrido nesse jogo mas o jeito que fizeram isso foi muito ruim pois a cena foi humilhante pra um personagem totalmente amado pelos fâs e foi contra seus princípios do primeiro jogo onde ele era cauteloso e um sobrevivente-nato apartir dessa cena tu não joga o jogo do mesmo jeito outro ponto que me deixou triste da história foi quando temos que jogar com a Abby até chegar no teatro onde tu literalmente luta contra a Ellie controlando a abby e tu é obrigado a quebrar a cara da ellie. O jogo te conta a história da Abby e tals mas tu não pega empatia pela personagem outro ponto importante é quando o Jesse morreu , ele é um personagem que a gente não cria empatia e quando ele morreu eu literalmente liguei o dane-se para a morte dele se ele não estivesse no jogo não iamos sentir nenhuma falta do mesmo.     In Short TLOU2 is in my opinion one of the best PS4 games if not the best PS4 game of all time, the story is extrememly well written and the characters are very well grounded, the graphics are stunning and the gameplay copys a lot off the first game with added elements for example the ability to squeeze through tight gaps and enemys calling out to flank you.

    People are rating this game 0/10 after joels death. the reason for joels death makes narrative sense is as you play joel in the 1st TLOU you follow one man willing to do anything for Ellie his surrogate daughter (in a way). But as you play as Abby in TLOU2 you can see joel in a different light how he selfishly mowed down a huge majority of the Fireflys to save one girl and ruin the chance for a cure along with killing Abbys father.

    At the time where it cut to playing as Abby (The villain) i was wanting to get through it as fast as i could to get back to playing as Ellie, but whilst playing you notice there are obvious similarities between both Ellie and Abby, they are both stuck in a love triangle (Ellie with Dina & Jesse, Abby with Owen and Mel) both groups of people have someone who is pregnant and both characters parents have died.

    on the ending - at the time i was upset Ellie spared Abby but looking back on it i can understand why she did, these two characters and how much damage they have done to each other with nothing to show for it. If Ellie did kill Abby she would of spared Lev (Because Lev spared Dina and Ellie) and the whole cycle of revenge would of began again with Lev and Ellie (An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind).    … Expand

    Moving to the game, besides Joel's decisions not making any sense when he was alive or Ellie's decision at the end by not killing the villain bcs ''OH MY GOD, Joe- oh well... that took 1 sec but now i remember, revenge bad'' was stupid after the fact she kills hundreds of people that werent involved with Joel's death directly, if she thought she ended a revenge cycle, well.... BAD NEWS, those people she killed have probably friends that would do the same thing as her, so A POINTLESS and DUMB decision, which is the fault of the writer of the game.

    Another thing i want to criticise is WHY would Neil want to self insert to spit on Joel's dead body and having sex with the villain + having a card where he thinks he is smart.
    It just made me think that there was some **** message against the fans of the 1st game or even the ex-writers, it was disrespectful.

    The only thing i can praise is the graphics and gameplay, so congrats for those that worked on that section, NOT the writers.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
