    This game is pretty terrible. Not because of any "SJW pandering," but simply because the story is pretty garbage. The game is linear, and thus forces you to carry out certain actions in order to complete it. However, it also reprimands the player for committing actions that the player is *forced* to take.

The story of this game is an absolute dumpster fire that disrespects the characters of the first game even worse than recent star wars are a disgrace to the original characters. If you want to pay 60 bucks to get preached to by the PC police then this game is for you! If not, avoid at all costs. I would have even been fine with certain things happening, i knew there was a reckoning coming for some characters, but the way they actually do it, and the entire storyline is just an epic failure. The ending alone is enough reason to pretend this game never existed, TLOU future needs to retcon this entire pathetic excuse for a story and reboot the series with an actual story that is interesting and not just political agenda driven garbage.… Expand

    This game is a beautiful piece of art. The gameplay is fun and very intense, the world is incredibly immersive, and the story is pretty great too. I am about 8 hours into the game and so far, I am in love. The first game was my favourite game of all time, and this sequel is just a really great reentry into the world of post-virus america.     Dont listen to these negative reviews, they were done by people who 1) havent even played the game or 2) havent finished it. Now while I havent finished the game I can tell you that so far the game has been a masterpiece from the intense situations and the story so fa. Great controls and visuals with certain RPG elements. I cant wait to see how the rest plays out.

    Poor writing, terrible character development, enough plot holes to genuinely terrify anyone with trypophobia, extremely shady developer practices and forced dialogue makes this game a massive letdown in my books. Also, there are people giving this game false 10 scores, dismissing anyone who left a negative review as a "troll who has never played the game". Avoid this title.

    Everybody has a point of view and Naughty Dog does a masterful job of reminding us of that here, allowing us empathy for two characters who both view themselves as the good guy yet both are very much flawed.     TLOU2 is a notable refinement of every aspect of the first game. The story is an emotional roller coaster, which many cannot stomach (hence the review bombing) but it is a ride worth taking. I’m once again blown away by ND’s masterful use of video game as a medium for artistic beauty.

    It's really good. I personally enjoy the Last of us more for the world building not so much the characters themselves. This game is a beautiful Display of a apocalypse future that isn't shy of showing the reality of mankind without true leadership. I found the Relationship between each character spot on for the world they inhabit.

    If you enjoyed the first games gameplay you will love this as well, not to mention the stellar graphics. While I know alot of people are frustrated with the story I throughly enjoyed it, and I feel the point of The Last of Us is to pull at your heart and this game sure does that. Dont listen to alot of the reveiw bombers and craft your own opinion.

    O jogo e simplesmente incrível !!! Eu tava com o pé atrás sobre os rumores desse game, mas mesmo assim decidi dar o benefício da dúvida ao The Last of us.
    E não me arrependo hora nenhuma, lógico, teve coisas que não me agradou, mas de resto foi uma experiência incrível!!.
    Se dese pra dar nota 100 era na hora kkkk... Enfim, vale a pena jogar esse game, ou amei.

    I just want to say, it's a good thing most user reviews don't matter. This game was amazing. Haven't beaten it yet, but that's because I had to reluctantly pull myself away to go to bed as I have to get up a decent time. Either way, not much can get me hooked these days but I had a hard time putting the game down.

    The game is very slow. The game felt I didn't have any aesthetic distance to it or what so ever. It lacked the most important aspect of story telling games. However the graphics are amazing. Cuts scenes are very beautiful. Naughty Dog really messed up here. 0/10 from me

They took a beloved character and spat on the legacy of good apocalyptic game writing. Joel reminds us and myself of a good dad, that we may not have in reality or maybe we do, that gets killed off by a mentally ill person with no regard for life. Joel saved Abby, gave her a chance. She abused the power she was given and in return Ellie let her live. This is garbage. The self inserted sex scene and the spitting on Joels grave reflects on Neil Druckmann's fetishes and disregard for fans and to those who see the bond between Joel and Ellie as father and daughter. At the beginning of the Last of Us pt1 Joel lost his daughter and throughout the game he gained that bond back with Ellie. TO RUIN A PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW HOW THEIR BOND GREW IS A WASTE! THEY DIDN'T EVEN GIVE HIM AN HONORABLE DEATH, THEY TORTURED HIM!! **** this game, is boring and id rather play a wattpad fanfiction video game adaptation.     There is a scene inside the game where Ellie give a memorable speech about the internal strength and resiliance she has. This spoke to me. I come from a family of polish refugees. I then later found out the game wont let you shoot anything semetic related. This is a disgusting method and subtracts from her previous statement.

Achei o jogo ótimo, uns dos melhores dessa geração se não for o melhor, eu joguei e zerei ele no dia do lançamento, tive 23 horas de jogo, e não tive nenhum problema com bugs ou repetição de inimigos, e eu gostei da história, tem algumas falhas, como a de a gente não jogar com o Joel ou a de matarem o Jesse sem explorar o personagem.     I’ve see this game get a lot of slack so far and I’m absolutely enjoying it so far especially the storyline the graphics and the sounds.     I just finished the game, and I made myself do it. My wife and I are absolute massive fans of the first game and we are sitting here just completely disappointed in the story/gameplay. I’ll come back later and edit this if I can to go into more detail, but for those of you that were waiting for this.... the game is terrible.     Okay i finished this game on the 20/6/2020. I was lucky enough to be able to avoid all story spoilers and i was lucky enough to go in blind, so how is the Last of Us part 2 here is a full review with positives and negatives. This review will have some spoilers but nothing to heavy.

    First of all everyone say's the graphics are amazing whihc is true so let's just skip that and focus on    Okay i finished this game on the 20/6/2020. I was lucky enough to be able to avoid all story spoilers and i was lucky enough to go in blind, so how is the Last of Us part 2 here is a full review with positives and negatives. This review will have some spoilers but nothing to heavy.

    First of all everyone say's the graphics are amazing whihc is true so let's just skip that and focus on something major the story. The stroy mainly takes places 4 years after the events of the first game, this time around we are mainly in the shoes of Ellie going through Seattle for majority of the game. The story focuses on revenge and it's a bloody/gory. The first half of the game is easily a 10/10 and focuses on Ellie however *spoiler warning* when you start to play as Abby that is where the story begins to fall apart, the first chapter as one of the worst character Abby is disgusting and terrible, i was so bored i almost fell asleep but oh boy was it worth getting past day 1 as her because day 2 as Abby was amazing. The story begins to pick up again and you get to spend more time with new characters such as Lev. The section as Abby does contain a disgusting sex scene which is gross as Abby looks like a guy however one past that it's fine. Day 3 as Abby is one of the best chapters as it contains a large scale battle that has so much gore it can make many people happy and the graphics really pick up at this point. Once you reach the end of the chapter the game forces you to do something you do not want to do but whatever. The game then takes a secodn to slow down and put's you back into Ellie's shoes for pretty much the rest of the game besides a short part. This ending portion is amazing as it takes a minute to slow down and give insight into how characters feel. The ending portion with final location is incredible and you get hyped up and ready HOWEVER they do fall short and the ending does not feel like a real ending it is just missing something. Overall the story is still fantastic and most revirews are from people who have not even played the game just watched it or were reading leaks before it came out even though most were fake.

    Next up a minor thing- the music while playing felt like it was lacking comparing it to last of us 1 but you do get to play the guitar at some parts and it is amazing to hear some music from Ellie and Joel.

    Next up gameplay- The gameplay in last of us part 2 is a massive step up, unlike Joel which was bash square (even though it was so fun and i love it) in Last of Us 2 Ellie can not do that so she uses her knife and a dodge mechanic. The gameplay is fun and the guns/ animations are satisfying however you think with a knife Ellie would have a quicker time to kill. The best part about gameplay is the climbing/ prone mechanics. These really add different ways to play the game for example you can sprint dive and quickly aim a gun or bow and don't get me started on the bow it is amazing.

    The game does contain minor bugs for example the noise when a enemy see's you keeps playing even if they don't see you and sometime Ellie won't do the animation straight away.

    While playing Last of Us 2 you can see the care and effort they put into the story, it may fall abit short at some moments, i have played hundreds of games and in every game i have ever played i never really cry however Last of us part 2 made me cry 5 times, the game is very emotionally draining.

    Wrap up- Overall most reviews are fake, the game may not be perfect but what game is? Overall the game only has two things i hate, Abby and the lack of music. I waited 7 years for this game and was it worth it? yes it was, it the game better than the first one? debatable, to me some parts are just way better and others are not. This game i still classify as a masterpiece just like number 1. For anyone who is sitting on teh fence wondering if it is worth playing, it 100% is.

It’s not that I don’t like the last of us 2 it’s just like I don’t know I feel the first game had a more realistic story like in the first game the first 3 hours are brutal and you see how time has made Joel who he was and throughout the whole game Ellie breaks him down and he lets her in. In the beginning of the second game you smoke weed, have sex, the death of Joel, and a pregnancy twist from Dina..... like I just feel the first one had more of a grounded story and not like a zombie drama like the walking dead the second one is like. Now I still love the game and seeing Ellie grown up and definitely the death of Joel and even Tommy Made me cry like a baby. I just think that the story is trying to hard to be a drama like those zombie shows and it’s a little off putting after years of playing and crying to the first game.… Expand

This game disrespects characters, has others make irrational decisions that do not align with their personalities nor the plot, introduces new characters that are unfortunately irrelevant (sorry but we don't care about them), and lastly lacks any message/theme/point in the end. What is the takeaway from this game? What did we learn or think about? It contradicts all the takeaways of the original, it contradicts itself and its new narrative, and frankly it doesn't make sense at the end. Maybe next time Sony should have less political messaging in their game and more competent writers.    … Expand

    The Last of Us 2 is basically just a bad movie that's $60. Gameplay is minimal compared to other games. Story is uninteresting and characters feel un relatable. Graphics are nice but that's about it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really loved the story, although there were times when I literally wanted to punch neil druckmann in the face. But that anger subsided on those parts. Overall, I felt like the themes were clear, when seeking revenge, dig two graves. The ending is absolutely heartbreaking and what the did to Joel made me want to hate the game (along with the Abby parts) but as I was progressing I kept getting more involved with Abby and more sympathetic towards her cause. I still wish Ellie killed Abby, however, regardless of how much of a great character I think she is. I still think the original was better and more emotional (except for maybe the ending of 2, because that really got to me) but overall, the second game is more intense and anger driven. And boy do some of the WLF deaths feel good, like Manny, or Nora. But I understand now why Abby did what she did, and I understand why Ellie let her go, they were destroying themselves. They were both just shells of their former selves, engulfed by that fury from the beginning. This is where the game truly shines, in these moments, where in the end, you realize Ellie isnt a little kid anymore and she leaves the guitar to move on from Joel and her past. And the camera pans to a closeup if the guitar to give us that last glimpse of the past we relished in. Ellie is now in a new chapter. If there was a last of us 3, I think it needs to be focused on Ellie slowly becoming Joel, because that is where she is headed. That is the beauty in the story, the subtlety of it all. It leaves the players to interperet, to theorize, to grieve. The game is very reminiscent of the 5 stages of grief.

    Denial: she cant believe Joel is dead and keeps begging him to get up, even after Abby takes that last swing


    Anger: she vows to slowly kill everyone in that room that day


    Bargaining: she begs Abby to take her instead of Tommy Depression: she is torn up inside and depressed at the farm, knowing that she cant leave her past behind her


    Acceptance: she accepts the fact that Joel is dead and theres nothing that can be done and lets Abby go, both of them being just shells of the people they once were, they put an end to the fighting. Ellie then leaves the guitar (her last memory of Joel) in the empty house she came back to. And you can see her leave it all behind.

    She has finally moved on from Joel and is finally ready to become him, and I think we'll see more of Ellie becoming more like Joel if we see a part 3.

    This is an amazing story, it truly captivates the consequences of every character's actions and shows a clear change throughout the story in both Ellie and Abby. Ellie is no longer the loudmouthed fun loving kid from part 1, and no longer the revenge driven woman from part 2. She is Joel.

    main reaons people fell in love with the LOU is the story behind ellie and joel where we we baited into thinking it would be another adventure for them. This changes very quickly within the first 2 hours of the game where joel is brutily murdered by the character that we're forced to play as for half the game.
    the ending is ridiclious and contradicts the whole point of ellies story

And as for the gameplay, it’s naughty dog, the gameplay is brutal and grounded. It’s the most smooth a game has ever felt, everything seems to flow like water from character animations, traversal, to combat. This is possibly the best looking console game out, no question.     Also, the media tries to call us homophobic and almost fascists. Well, I don't like to be that kind of person, but I'm gay, so, check mate!
    The game feels pointless when you reach the ending, something that didn't happen with the first game. Also, there are a lot LGBT characters. There's nothing wrong with that, but why did they give so much attention to that aspect? I mean, it's the apocalypse, I wouldn't mind my sexual life or my identity when my life is constantly in danger. Spoilers! Joel is way dumber in this game, an awful lot. He gaves his name to a bunch of strangers, and one of them, Abby, kills him with a golf club. He had the most ridiculous death ever, he fought against zombies, goons, he survived many life threatening situations in the first game to save the girl on whom he sees his daughter, Ellie, and he dies like that in the beginning of the game. Also, there is a sex scene, of Abby and Owen, and oh my God, what was that? It feels like a weird fan fiction. Also, an awful lot of straight characters die in the game but the LGBT ones, are literally ok, nothing happens to them. The zombies merely appear during the game, and they were one of the most important enemies in the first game. At the end of the game, Ellie reaches Abby, and the player can feel how its own blood boils. You want to kill her so bad. But then, Ellie has a vision of Joel and just let's her go free. And the game ends with Ellie completely alone. What was point of the whole adventure if you are not going to kill the main antagonist on the first place? That was her motivation! She sacrifices her relationships and the people she loves, like her girlfriend, because Ellie chose revenge over her. It makes no sense. Ellie kills dozens if not hundreds of humans across the game, but when she reaches the one who ruined her life, she just leaves her. On a good note though, the graphics are stunning, the best ones. It all looks so real and pretty. The details are almost orgasmic. But, the story, ugh, I rather play Uncharted 4.    … Expand

    All the special things about The Last of Us were forgotten in the sequel -- or resumed to flashbacks. The characters are poorly written and we are forced to control a disgusting one though de story. The gameplay only added jumping and dodging, beside that and the large areas, it's basically the same 2013 mechanics. The graphics are good and the representation of minoritys as well.     In short, despite its phenomenal gameplay and graphics, as a story-driven game, it is a big failure. It failed to build up connection between the player and the new characters. It did not respect the beloved and well-developed characters of the original game.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
