    Let’s be fair I only grade on story, I see no point marking on graphics as at this point in the current console generation graphics are the same.

    This story is essentially boring and aimed at a certain demographic of society. Funnily enough, it’s not aimed at the majority.

    I went through only part of the game, but I can already say that the game is super! All those 0 and 1 unreasonable hate, do not pay attention to them. Have a nice game!

    I've waited so long and it was worth it. The game is one of the best on ps4. Strong story with strong ending, gorgeous graphics, well-written characters and gameplay its just masterpiece. Worth buying for any money

    The graphics in this game are superb, the rest of it however is pitiful at best. The storyline is terrible and gameplay becomes highly boring and repetitive. I honestly would avoid this steaming garbage pile of a 'game' at all cost.

    I believe that this game is really great, and that it doesn't deserve the reviews it's getting. It conveyed the message that it was trying to convey through it's storytelling, and i couldn't go to sleep out of anticipation to play the game the next game.

    The main character does not cause anything but disgust right from the first minutes. At the very beginning, a huge plot hole. The gameplay has not changed much from the first part. Stealth is terrible. The game is not that it is not revolutionary; it did not do anything surprising even for this generation. Hype is not justified.

    This game is goated. if you like the first one, you’ll love this one. The story is just as emotionally involved as the first. The combat and gameplay is smoother. The graphics in this game are best in class. Overall a 10/10 experience. Recommend playing on survivor if you want to feel rewarded for your efforts.

    The game is simply not good. You spend most of your time looting or watching cutscenes. The looting is tiresome because you often can't go back to places after triggering a completely unnecessary door close, making it extremely frustrating for completionists.

    Considering most of the 'game' is cutscenes and not much action, you'd expect the story to be up to scratch, just like you would in a movie. Nope, the story is incredibly boring and uninspiring. Clearly written by a different team to the first game.

    The actual gameplay, and there isn't a great deal of it, is boring and sluggish. The controls just don't feel responsive. The combat isn't anything special and you're fighting mostly humans the whole game, and some undead too.

    The only good thing to come out of this game I'd say, is that it's now been made extremely obvious how bias the shill media are. They want their early review copies for clicks and views, they want their trips out, they want their freebies. If it wasn't obvious before, it is now.

    For me, The Last Of US's story ends after the first game. Don't waste your time and money on this one.    … Expand

    There is just too much to say...of course i had high expectations. Always defended Naughty Dog and considered it one of the few game companies left to live and fight for their fans, with memorable classic and new franchises for everyone to enjoy, from Crash Bandicoot to Just Cause and so on...TLOU in particolar hooked me instantly with the deep bond between Joel and Ellie, served on a story worth an oscar.

    Then Neil Druckmann came, and ruined EVERYTHING...whatever you loved about the first episode, here it's been devoured, digested and shat out of this clown's ass and elevated as a masterpiece or "future of gaming" from washed up game devs, critics and sjw baffoons.
    Bare in mind, i've nothing against lgbtq+xalphabet people, but throwing a bunch of incomplete, unlikable characters and scripts in a goddamn videogame, to appeal to a bunch of angry little people with minority complex....you gotta be joking.
    This trend of shaming anything that's white, straight, or male for the sake of it, has to stop, REALLY.
    On top of this, the horrible attempt of a storytelling, full of plotholes, hollow new characters, and an ending to make you shiver from anger, disappointment and frustration.
    There's no way anyone in a healthy state of mind would consider THIS anything but an ABOMINATION and an INSULT to everyone that supported the franchise and the whole company and gaming industry all over these years.
    DON'T BUY IT, FORGET IT EVEN EXISTS, like the last season and a half of GoT, or the last season of Scrubs.    … Expand

    In TLOU 1, Joel and Ellie passed through hard times with me, gave me emotional sympathy on becoming a family in an apocalyptic world, and Joel turned his back against the world ONLY FOR ELLIE. All characters and stories were designed well and convincing, so I could agree with Joel even though his decision was not perfect for the world at the final scene.
    Now all of    TLOU2 **** my brain.
    In TLOU 1, Joel and Ellie passed through hard times with me, gave me emotional sympathy on becoming a family in an apocalyptic world, and Joel turned his back against the world ONLY FOR ELLIE. All characters and stories were designed well and convincing, so I could agree with Joel even though his decision was not perfect for the world at the final scene.
    Now all of the descriptions on Joel and Ellie are meaningless. Joel was super suspicious to everyone except Ellie but now becomes a very friendly neighbor, and Ellie does not agree with Joel's decision in the hospital though she looked like agreed in TLOU1. I had cried for a while during playing this game, and I will buy no games if it is directed by Neil Druckmann. You **** up my seven-year waiting, memories with Joel and Ellie, and even TLOU1.    … Expand

Yes It can be since we know little about Sara and the probability of the story is very reasonable. But doing the same thing in part2 killing Joel is reasonable? Not at all. Since we know how Joel's Character is and the plot getting to it is very nonsense. Everything we know about Joel and Ellie in part1 was just a daydream in part2 making Joel from Discreet to Indiscreet person.

    I have not completed the game yet. I started playing it yesterday and played from about 5PM till about 3AM I had planned on stopping at midnight but I lost track of time. I then played again today for another 5 hours so far. I stopped to write this review and then I'm going back to the game.
    I don't understand the hate for this game from the review bombers. Especially since most of them seem to have posted it without really even playing the game.
    So far I think the story is amazing. I love the game play and I love the way the game flows. It is like a good book that is hard to put down.
    I was put off by the aiming mechanics at first but I think it was done intentionally. You aren't supposed to be a 1 man killing machine that can auto lock onto everything you see and you do unlock skills later on that improve your aiming speed so that you get a feeling of improvement while also actually improving just because you start to become more accustomed to the controls.
    I haven't completed the game yet so I can't say how I feel about the ending but I can say that I am having a lot of fun playing this game right now and really enjoying the story and the visuals and to me that is what makes a game good.
    I don't really care about whether or not this game is a political statement or some LGBTQ propaganda that some people are claiming it to be. (I don't believe that it is either)
    I think the characters are well written and it does a great job of continuing from where the DLC of TLOU part 1 ended.
    Do yourself a favor and ignore all of the zero reviews and try the game for yourself.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While the game is certainly an eye candy and it's music is top notch that does not save the game from its storytelling directions. Decisions like Joel's death, the introduction and focus on a brand new character (Abby) with very little backstory and depth and the many obvious politically influenced implementations all result into what might be my least favourite game of ALL TIME...and i have some very low standards.

    There are too many cut scenes. I find myself getting bored and just want a lot more action. The mechanics of this game feel so much like a “drake” type of game. I would rather play uncharted four again

    I like this game, not perfect but so close. The LGBT message in the game was superfluous, it could have been done better, but it didn't matter.

    Imagine you order the most beautiful coffee table you have ever seen in your life, and the price it's the average price that usually an expensive coffee table has (AAA game). So the cheap price or a good discount factors were not considerations, you just want the happiness it will bring to your life because you love coffee (games) each morning and that cost the extra money for you. Now the company bring you the coffee table, install it, and leave. Next morning, you serve your coffee in your special cup, put the cup on the coffee table and the table crumbles, falls and practically destroy itself, and there goes my special coffee cup with it.
    Now ask yourself should i give a good review or some positive points to the table for being beautiful even if did not do what it suppose to do? And even took my beautiful coffee cup that i loved with it.

    As a side note, you know time costs money (unless you don't value yourself). So what about the time yo invest looking for that (experience), reading lies of it, waiting for it, and now the process of maybe losing your hard to get money to, or give more of your time for a refund process, and possibly enter in a discussion loop with the company, that at times it goes nowhere.

    Some people will say “Well, that's what reviews are for” Well, this game receive a lot of perfect scores (even more than The Witcher 3), this game is proof that the media its not a trusty source, so if you still do trust those media companies, then the non-objective is you, because you are living in a fantasy bubble. Others will say “Then you should wait for a more trusty users review” Well i'm that guy, and even being that guy this companies still indirectly screw you with this garbage. How? in my case, it was a kind gift from my girlfriend, she knew i loved the first one. And because a gift is something you normally get without you knowing, companies still get you in a way. I did not told her this i'm sharing with you because, i didn't want to broke her hearth, but learned from this and no more games as a gift for me, quality food never fails in my book.    … Expand

    It’s a beautiful, thrilling game. The voice acting from Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Troy Baker and tons more is absolutely incredible and passionate. The talent in this team is unreal. The scenes and graphics are stunning and overlooked. The characters, new fighting mechanics and new infected are really well thought out and developed, I’m so impressed and addicted to it, I can’t wait toIt’s a beautiful, thrilling game.     The story was fundamentally flawed and disrespectful to the original game. The game play made no attempt to evolve beyond where it was 7 years ago; it felt terribly dated and was a chore to play through in between cut scenes. The same game play loop was used over and over, against the same brain dead AI. The art was nice aside from some wonky animation blending.

    No offense but seriously wtf was this **** Good work on the engine and graphics but the story and everything is beyond retarded! Don't waste your money! Giving it a 3 instead of 0 because of just one really awesome small part of the game where Ellie has a flashback to younger days where they go exploring an old Museum! Really enjoyed that bit, can't say the same about the rest of the game!

    Just finished GOTY 2020 10/10 what a **** masterpiece. The message of violence being bad is so incredibly profound, I did not realize this until I played The Last of Us Part ll. The way they spectacularly handled the characters in this game was deeply emotionally affecting. Both of these characters have done equally horrible **** but the new protagonist for some reason is given a redemption arc that is breathtakingly beautiful and the protagonist from the first game that we love is forced to wallow in her own pity just like that **** deserves. Another thing of note are the immaculately executed plot contrivances and incredibly moronic character decisions that just push the characters and story forward in an incredible way. In summary, The Last of Us 2 really makes you feel like you're Batman. Yeah, it's **** lol. P.S. I actually played the game from beginning to end and it was pretty emotionless and bad the entire way through… Expand

This game is good for a couple of hours the story is decent but the one problem I have with this game that gives it a 7 is that you play as Abby for a half the game or less and you don’t even like her first you play as her when killing Joel in front of Ellie and later on in the story the game try’s to make you like her and every time I play as her I just want to quit I take a look on YouTube to see if anybody likes her in any of their walkthrough and nobody wants to play her and just can’t wait to play Ellie again… Expand

Better ambient, better gameplay, better lights, better movements, maps biggers, more places to roam. I think low ratings must be because of haters or people dosn't like ellie being lesbian or judaism of the characters or other matters of the history.     If you are able to look at the game the way it is presented to us, there is a good story underneath it all. The presentation of that story leaves much to be desired, but it is still possible to accept that story as it is, and see it for what it ends up being.    … Expand

    The game was definitely a disappointment. I recently played the original TLOU to refresh my memory of it and the gameplay is just about the same. The difference is that gameplay was punctuated with an amazing story. The story on this one was so unremarkable and disjointed. How am I supposed to care about any of these shallow characters?     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
