    Makes me feel bad about the part of ND team that did a great job when it comes to presentation... but sadly, their tremendous work was in vein, this is unplayable, pointless chore filled with lgbt cringe. I own 700+ of playstation games, all ND games included, since first Crash on PSX, but this... makes me want to quit gaming. Refund.

    It is no coincidence that many of the fans themselves have a negative reaction to this second part. In my humble opinion, I think the script was too ambitious and it went very wrong.
    This saga was positioned where it is because it had a heart, but now they completely destroy our emotional bond with the flagship characters of the first installment.

    I wanted to give a higher rating but I can't. First of all props to the animators, programmers, actors, game designers and everybody in the art team. Second of all DON'T ever make people work years on something that's bad from the start because it's clearly poorly written. I have trust issues.

    One of the best game of this generation. The gore, hatred, violence & the stunning visuals adds such an immersive experience to this game & the animations in this game are some of the stuff that I’ve never seen in a video game.

I don't even consider this a game, it's just a political statement, not to mention how they tricked us into thinking we'd be playing as joel and ellie with the trailers (yeah, those two, if they didn't notice that's what made the first game the last of us).

The character design is very skilled. The only big gripes I have with the game are clunky fighting controls (ducking melee attacks especially) and that armed enemies do not drop ammo.     I am 10-15 hours in the game (Seattle day 2) on hard difficulty. I am starting to believe that this is getting review bombed by the Xbox trolls or entitled 9 year-olds that are mad that the game did not go their way.

    These crybabies are even down voting positive reviews because some people actually enjoyed the game and don't share their view, while circle jerking their own negative ones.

    The game is in every way better that the first one, and yes, I've seen the leaks and the ending. I pre-ordered it after seeing the leaks. I don't care about the political agenda, i don't pay attention to it, I'm concentrating on the post-apocalyptic game. After all the internet outrage, i was expecting flying unicorn LGTBs shooting rainbows. It's nothing like that, it's barely noticeable, just the edgy children blowing it out of proportion.
    Every encounter I've had is memorable, maybe because also the lack of supplies and difficulty. I am actually reluctant to start playing it again because i know I'm gonna sink another 8 hours in it and then the day has passed.
    I don't think there is more to say about the graphics, environments, sound design, acting, and overall polish of the game, this is basically a PS 5 game for the PS 4, I just wanted to clear the story part: IT'S GOOD!

    TLoU2 boasts a complex story that takes Ellie on a struggle to put meaning to her own existence that sees her fighting through the infected, a paramilitary force, religious zealots, amazing environments, her own demons, and sadly a bunch of real world bigots. Yeah, there's some gay stuff in it - Ellie's gay. If this offends you, well that's on you. Gay people are real, get over it. The Last of Us Part II is incredible. The visuals, gameplay, adventure and story are second to only one. The Last of Is Part I is the best game of all time. Part II does not dethrone the king, but eff - it comes pretty close.    … Expand

    I don’t know why the user rating is so low... the gameplay was slow and tedious at times but the story was great. That’s the reason I enjoyed the first one so much to begin with, and the game mechanics and graphics in this game are obviously way better. Overall it’s an amazing game and I think it’s a great sequel to the original.

A gorgeous game with fantastic gameplay was butchered with identity politics / pandering and terrible story decisions. A certain someone died, that isn't the issue. It is how and why he died. He was a complete badass in the first game and almost had a war hero vibe about him. Very smart and careful (same for his brother), you're telling me he just trusts everyone and gives out his name after what happened in the first game? Gimme a break. Then there's another elephant in the room: playing as a complete nobody and a MA'AM with no emotional journey who happens to be the person who kills our hero, you know an actually liked and developed character from the past. There is also the way the developers (a certain one especially) treated the situation of the earlier leaks (thank God for that since I saved my money). Striking down channels for opinions, really? They mad an already bad situation significantly worse. I personally was hoping the leaks were fake, but seeing how Naughty Dog and Sony responded, I knew there was something up. This game is comparable to the terrible writing and treatment of fans that took place with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, along with Game of Thrones S8. It's a shame what the industry is has turned into. All these so-called "critics" giving this game flawless reviews are no more than yes-men and "woke" social justice warriors (who may I remind you don't care about the story and canon). I can probably write more, but let this be a lesson Naughty Dog and Sony. You lost a long time fan. This was going to be the reason I got my PS5 (I sold my PS4 Pro earlier). I no longer plan on getting one thanks to the handling of this. Congrats, you lost money … Expand

The game is incredible in several aspects such as graphics, gameplay, soundtrack, facial expressions and others, but Joel's death was very bad for a smuggler like Joel, his death was necessary, I was already resigned but the way they did it sucked, he could die fighting. The game is incredible at various times in history, for example, the flashbacks, I got really emotional and it was very well done, in the end my opinion is quite divided but I understand the message they wanted to send but I think I could have the option to kill Abby or not because it was up to each player to decide.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. MY TOTAL SCORE | 10 | - Everything i wanted in this game was to play like Joel and Ellie. NaughtyDog dind't gave me that chance. Instead they paired me with the most unpleasant situation that i lived in a videogame. I had to see with my head pinned down, how my favourite character died like a dog. Then, i wanted to cry and kill everyone. But the game forced me into Abbie's storyline. I felt awkward playing as her. Part of me wanted to drop the controller and let the infected kill her over and over again. As the story was told, i understood that Abbie's group were people too. There was no good or bad guys, no black or white, even the Scar were gray. What Joel did in the first game had a major impact and ruined their lifes. Even if i was attached to Ellie, i understood. Every flashback, every cutscene was perfect, and had the perfect timing. I wanted to cry every time Ellie played Future Days.
    This game is PERFECT and it diserves a high score and probably GOTY award, but understand this: the game deals with mature content, storyline and character developement. That's why it has a low review score. Because people wanted a cheesy revenge story, plain characters and straight-forward moral situtations.

    MY REVIEW:
    CHARACTERS | 10 | - One of the best character developement that i ever seen. I feel attached with each and every one of them. I hated Abbie and the Wolves, but the game drives you into their story right after your favourite character was killed by them and shows you that they are people too, and that (from Abbie's point of view) Joel diserved what he got. Abbie was Ellie's Joel.

    STORY | 10 | - The game is not a classic revenge story by any means, and it's not for everyone. The mature content and depth of the characters combined with the story hits you right in the feelings. The different versions of the same event allows the player to understand everything that the characters are going trough. Everything is GRAY, not the clasic black and white, good versus evil.

    WORLD | 10 | - I love the world. What can i say? The world feels alive, every NPC of every faction has a name and probably a story. You hear them, they miss people, they are afraid, and when you are done hearing them and hiding, you kill them and the other NPCs scream "OH GOD, MARTHA IS DEAD". Freaking GREAT. The ambience and the ruins of the city are immersive, the sounds are incredible. Every part of the world design is awesome!

    GAMEPLAY AND ANIMATIONS | 9 | - The gameplay feels true to "The Last of Us", stealth mechanics, spam-grab everything, fluid combat, etc. I have one critic: The stealth-kill animations. I mean, come on, it's always the same. Couldn't you add at least two? Anyway, it's a minor thing, everything else is excelent.

    ADDRESSING THE CRITICS:
    1) A character you liked died. So, what? You deal with it and see where the game gets you.

    2) I absolutely HATE games, series or movies that force the LGBT+ in their stories. This game is an example of how to deal with that without forcing it. We have a lesbian, a bisexual jewish, a trans-gender Scar-asian boy, and TONS of NPCs talking about "Getting back with my man/woman". I didn't feel forced into that not even for a second. The game deals with it with absolute grace in a normal fashion, without imposing ideals. Just people dating people.    … Expand

Models of enemies move around the corner, changing their position very abruptly. as if teleporting around the corner and not moving along the trajectory. because of this, it’s not possible to follow the model of the enemy if he has left the corner and is heading in your direction. and now according to the script.     My brain malfunctioned during the entire post credit scene… Prob it’s the unpopular opinion now but I appreciate Naughty Dog took risks. Not just lgbtq theme wise but rather the main discussion point of the game.

My major grievance with the story is that by the third act after Ellie leaves behind Dina and the baby the game essentially becomes misery porn where the character you cared for since the original game is left broken both physically and mentally with nothing to show for it. I’m not saying the story is necessarily bad but in my opinion it gets way too nihilistic in the end for its own good. I have always enjoyed dark stories and bitter sweet endings but this game goes overboard in that regard at the very end with a hopless and futile ending with no light having been on the other side which isn’t bad with a series that deals in that regard, but with the first Last of Us the dark tone was meant to be offset by bittersweet moments and small moments of light hearted comedy whereas this game abandons all hope and the style of story that made the predecessor a masterpiece in writing. Aside from the story. The gameplay, graphics, and voice acting is top notch. The Last of Us 2 is a technical marvel but with a very divisive story.… Expand

Way to make fans of the first game bitter, they overworked Naughty Dog employees and pushed them to design a game so loosely based on the first. Maybe you shouldn’t have fired the original writer because they actually made TLOU1 a masterpiece while this is just a cash grab bc it’s named a sequel of a good game. If this was a spin off I can see the artistic direction A LITTLE BIT but it’s still so messy but being a direct sequel is a shame to the Last of Us that released years prior. Boooo this game… Expand

This game would have been a lot better if the cutscenes were organized in a way that made sense. There is no reason to introduce Abby's backstory late into the game if Joel ends up dying 2 hours into the games plot.I believe alot of people were angry at the writers for killing Joel too early and if they added his death scene near the end of the game and skipped that entire sequence entirely the games poorly written script couldve been covered up slightly. Game wouldve made more sense if they took the route Heavy Rain took with their antagonist and revealed her intentions as the game went on instead of putting it 2 hours into the game and spitting in our faces for it . Dialogue between the new characters felt unnatural and awkward giving a high school drama vibe to it. The pacing of the game didnt make any sense. All new characters were uninteresting especially Dina and Abby. The relationship between Ellie and Abby didnt add anything to the story and it was a massive downgrade from the Joel and Ellie relationship in the first game. The game looked great but the game felt empty at times. The notes were mostly useless information if it didnt have safe combinations. The hero card collectibles were whatever. The design team was let down by the writing team for sure. This game has a lot of wasted potential.… Expand

I have missed Ellie and Joel! The Last of Us has been one of my favorite games for a long time since then I've played it at least seven times I am so eager to finish part 2. I don't mind Ellie being gay but I feel that it is straight up in your face the entire game. If Ellie was straight and had a boyfriend constantly bumping into me I would feel the same way. The Last of Us is not a romantic love story but a "father-daughter" relationship based on trust and hardship. I feel that Ellie nor Joel's sexual preference should be a side story in this storyline. Ellie's girlfriend has less personality than a plank of wood and really could have played the game without her. We should have had more time with Joel but I also understand they needed to move the story along. The nostalgia in this game is one I hold close to my heart. I love how some things have not changed such as the way we upgrade guns, search for loot, take medicine for upgrades, and the menu and how you make medkits and bombs. I love the collectibles and how Ellie writes everything in her journal. I think naughty dog did awesome with the graphics and show how time passes but the world stayed the same.
    The handling of the characters could use some work. I hate how Ellie jumps and the noises she makes. I'm glad they kept the same type of "infected" and impressed with the new.
    I like how they opened up the map especially in Seattle up I just wish they had a better navigation system. I don't like the fact that if I miss something I can't go back. Overall I am very pleased with this game.    … Expand

I played the 1st game on PS3 for about 10 times and played the remastered version 5 times again and that's simply because it was a masterpiece that took others and me on an emotional journey that didn't need any politics or religions or agendas to shove on our faces. The 2nd didn't need to do that, too. Guess what? They did it anyway and threw all the dedicated fans who loved the characters no matter what their sexuality were. I loved the 1st game and loved the DLC (Left Behind). Story was part of the success as it was grey (not black or white) and people can relate to the decisions made during the game, but now we were supposed to see the death of the 1st game's protagonist early in the game and should go - as advertised - on a journey of revenge while playing almost half of the game as the one who killed him! I'm still shocked from the cheap shock value. Even I, a novice writer, could come with better story line and plot to justify his death and the way it was done. I could've come to peace with her if we played her through the game only to have her revenge at the end, but no. They wanted us to force ourselves to keep playing because we already paid 60 dollars for this **** story full of agendas instead of having a decent game. Joel who didn't stop for a guy who looked desperate in the 1st game, trusted a group of strangers with his name and got killed for it and we're supposed to believe that? Abby which I hated from the beginning and tries to kill as many times as possible because I knew they were trying to make us feel bad for her and they even forced a sex scene no asked for which made me hate her and the game more in what we can describe as the gayest straight sex ever done. There no justification for what ND did to the fans, not to mentions the delays the game got so they can manipulate us more with false advertisements and trailers which convinced me that Joel would be a big part in the game, only to find that he appears in flashback with his old look and as the trailers showed us and now I hear that stores refuse to accept returning the game. The trailers convinced us that Dina died and Ellie had to avenge her and then Joel follows her to help. They didn't even show din behind Ellie on the horse on the first day of Seattle. Shame on ND and shame above all on Sony who let them do this. I lost my respect to the studio I admired and considered the best in the last 2 generations of consoles. I gave the 2 just for the technique aspects. Amazing world and graphics, cinematography, music, and voice acting. **** story full of holes, bad insert of left politics and agendas and disrespecting a loved character because he's a man.     The gameplay is old and stale, the story telling is all over the place. This is what happens when you have writers based on color and pink hair instead of talent.

    Neil Druckman hates the female figure but loves butch men pretending to be female, it also appears he likes making and seeing stories on young teenage lesbians.

Not at all, in first two hours you expect to go uphill, where it's just goes downhill at 600km/h. What I've been started to like is Ellie playing guitar and that was my LAST HOPE for rating this game more points (I am a guitar player myself) Unfortunately Ellie lose two fricking fingers on her left hand. Why two for god sakes? Like they couldn't make it on her right hand so she could at least strum the strings. Следует отметить, что восприятие игры сильно зависит от от того, как вы относитесь к первой части игры. И если первая часть вам понравилась, то вторая порвет вам жопу. Если не понравилась, то она все равно подожжëтВ отличии от большинства пользователей я полностью прошел игру, попутно получив почти все модификации/апгрейды/коллекционные предметы, то есть игру я прошел вдоль и поперек. Следует отметить, что восприятие игры сильно зависит от от того, как вы относитесь к первой части игры. И если первая часть вам понравилась, то вторая порвет вам жопу. Если не понравилась, то она все равно подожжëт вам пятую точку. Игру можно разделить на две части, первая из них понравится почти всем, вторая - взбесит вообще всех, кого только можно. Вы будете цепляться к каждому косяку, искренне ненавидеть каждого персонажа и не понимать, почему Нил Дракман решил сделать две игры в одной, когда этого не требовалось. К проблемам второй половины игры добавляется вторичный геймплей и бэк трэкинг (на одной локации мы побываем 5 раз). По моим ощущениям, вот эти 12 часов надо перетерпеть, стиснув зубы. Но это того стоит, Нил Дракман понимал, что вся эта ненависть и общее раздражение с усталостью должны довести игрока до того же состояния, что и одного из главных героев. И вот когда ты смотришь на финальную катсцену ты понимаешь, для чего все это нужно было. Отдельно стоит высказаться о ЛГБТ составляющей. С одной стороны, в целом это очень органично вплетено в повествовании и следить за этим даже приятно (а это говорю я, белый мужщина традиционной ориентации). Вот во второй половине игры начинается перебор. В сюжете появляется трансвестит, и он до конца игры будет действовать на нервы. Как будто взяв специальную методичку, авторы упорно вдабливают нас мысль, что это нормально, и на этом построена добрая, большая часть второй половины игры. Взаимоотношения между персонажами, к сожалению, не вытягивают. Единственная пара, за которой интересно наблюдать и сопереживать - это та же Элли и Джоэль из флешбеков. Я ничего не сказал про геймплей, дизайн, графику, режиссуру и катсцены просто потому что все это выполнено на великолепном уровне, это новая планка в игровой индустрии (кроме геймплея, он просто становится вторичным из-за затянутости самой игры). И ещё кое-что перед итогом - первая часть мне не понравилась только одним моментом - это концовка, я считал, что Джоэл похоронил человечество и он не имел права так делать. После всех прочтенных записок, сцен и увиденной жести, понимаешь, что он все сделал правильно и одновременно с этим еще больше проникаешься к Элли и тому, что она хочет сделать. Если подводить какой-то итог, то в эту игру стоит поиграть каждому. Она понравится не всем, далеко не всем, но обсуждать её вы будете долго. Такого сюжетной приёма никто не ждал, для меня он сработал, хоть и пришлось терпеть, при чём долго. 8,5/10… Expand
