    The Last Of Us Part 2 changes the concept of what a 100-note game is. An absurd, unique, unmatched. It is difficult to write about a game in which all its aspects are positive, but come on. The story and the way it is developed is absurd, since its beginning was impressive, instigating and takes directions that the player would never have imagined. The question so addressed that villain and hero is a matter of perspective is very present in the game. Redemption, revenge, madness, loss of mind, brutality, everything is there! Indeed, the brutality the game has, incredible. The graphics are the best ever made and nothing comes close, be it in the environment, in combat, in the damage received, every detail is stupendous, making this happen in this generation is almost a miracle, even in more than 25h of gameplay there are no loadings. Immersion too, never seen before. The atmosphere of the game is unbelievable, very heavy and realistic. The silence is disturbing in many moments, as well as the sound of the infected and the conversations of enemy groups. This immersion advances to the point that each enemy has personality, affection for the dogs (ah, the dogs ...), personal conversations, a unique detail. Gameplay is perfect, extremely effective and presents no problem. The story will surprise those who play and its ending is extremely impressive. A pity for those who cannot have this experience, undoubtedly the best ever produced to date, 2020 and most likely, the game of the year. Epic, legendary.

A história e o modo como a mesma é desenvolvida é um absurdo, desde seu início impactante, instigante e toma rumos que o player jamais imaginaria. A questão tão abordada de que vilão e herói é uma questão de perspectiva é muito presente no game. Redenção, vingança, loucura, perda de noção, brutalidade, tudo está presente! Inclusive, que brutalidade o jogo tem, incrível. Os gráficos são os melhores já feitos e nada chega perto, seja na ambientação, no combate, no dano recebido, cada detalhe é estupendo, fazer isso acontecer nessa geração é quase um milagre, inclusive em mais de 25h de gameplay não há loadings. A imersão também, jamais vista. A atmosfera do jogo é inacreditável, muito pesada e realista. O silêncio é perturbador em muitos momentos, bem como o som dos infectados e as conversas de grupos inimigos. Essa imersão avança a ponto de que cada inimigo tem personalidade, carinho pelos cachorros (ah, os cachorros...), conversas pessoais, um detalhamento único. Jogabilidade é perfeita, extremamente eficaz e não apresenta qualquer problema. A história irá surpreender quem jogar e o seu final é extremamente impactante. Uma pena quem não possa ter essa experiência, sem dúvida a melhor já produzida até hoje, 2020 e muito provavelmente, o jogo do ano. Obra, lendário.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a rare game where the story ruins the gameplay. The gameplay is smoother than the first game. It doesn't seem like 7 years better, but most fans actually weren't expecting it to be. As far as not playing as Joel. Most fans were prepared for it. But never playing as Joel and then having him killed in such a humiliating way makes the story telling of the first game pointless. Some fans could point to the Game of Thrones doing similar things. Problem with that comparison is that GOT has dozens of characters. This title had two main characters. Another comparison is Metal Gear Solid 2, where the opening has you play as Solid Snake before switching to Raiden for the rest of the game. There was backlash, but not like LOU2. Why? Because Snake's face wasn't smashed in by Raiden and then you have to empathize with the new character. Why Druckmann thought he was being brilliant is beyond me.

    When LOU2 was announced 5 years ago, I was surprised because the first game was a complete story. I was worried about a cash grab. It ended up being worse.

    If Druckmann had a new story to tell, new characters would have had minut backlash. There was nothing in the LOU universe that prevented a prequel, sequel, or a story occuring at the same time of the first one. The reason the original characters were brought back was for money. And then to backtrack from that fact is appalling. This is not the first sequel that received negative backlash. To be so childish to believe that it's because of the sexuality of a couple characters is absurd and without merit. For myself, I think the story can bring out the gameplay's greatness. And a poor story can ruin the gameplay. It's games like this that pushes developers to play it safe and have no substantive story. That's a shame for one of the few more interactive mediums. This game will also set back LGBTQ+ friendly games as well. It'll be viewed as unsafe by investors and developers. Druckmann has failed on every front. He thought he was creating a masterpiece when he was piggybacking on the greatness of others greatness and mistaken it for his own. *Everyone should remember that Druckmann fired the top female game writer/artist in the industry to create this game. She was responsible for Uncharted at its best and much of the LOU. "Game critics" hiding that fact for their paycheck is shameful.

    In a vacuum, this game is fine. Without context, it would be visually good and decent gameplay for 2020. But that is not the case. If you accepted the money and the accolades from the first game, Druckmann has to take the backlash for the second. You don't get to have it both ways. If Druckmann wants to refund every dissatisfied fan, maybe there would be some positive feedback. Druckmann is not going to give up his money. And his labeling every critic as a bigot is a sign of his character.    … Expand

From its amazing heartwarming flashbacks to its most intense gruesome moments it ends it amazingly and makes me want more. The story in this game makes me want to keep playing. I love the characters, even though I didn’t like Abby at first since she killed Joel. Once I started playing as her I started to like her more and more. She is such a caring person helping Lev and Yara throughout the last’s parts of you playing as her really shows on how good of a person she is.

    Ellie has evolved so much during this game and the first. From wanting revenge for Abby killing Joel to accepting that Abby deserves to live. Ellie and Joel have had a complicated relationship ever since the end of the first game but it seems that she starts to warm up with him more but does have some bumps in the road when Joel tells her what actually happened.

    This game overall has some of the best gameplay and graphics I have ever seen. Some of the moments in this game will stick with me. Some of the environments in this game are so beautiful. Going to the farm and finding out Dina and tommy lived and seeing that Dina was able to have her baby made me the happiest person in the world. When Ellie and JJ went and sat on the tractor and looked out into the horizon I ain’t gonna lie I cried a bit.

    But this game is worthy of the title and probably better than the first game. Even though I finished it in around 18 hours I loved 98% of the game. 10/10 masterpiece and worthy of the title of game of the year.    … Expand

We are then expected to play as the character that killed of the main one? There was no reason for it, nor repercussions for the killer. There was no reason or purpose for the killing.     This game delivers on graphics sound design and all other technical fronts, the actors also did a great job in delivering their assigned roles so props to them as well. Unfortunately, that is not enough to save this game from very low ratings. The story clearly was tailored around a certain political agenda and it is apparent that many of the positive user reviews are just bots.

    Looks wonderfull, but history is terrible pushing agendas that are not good for me or the children that we know will play this game, besides PG rating that should have been 18+ and not only M. Gave me the same feeling of last season of Designated Survivor, completely biased gender relation agenda, feel sorry that a company like Naughty Dog went in this direction

    This a heart wrenching sequel that is vehemently set on destroying just about everything that people loved with the first game. What was initially a promising start, quickly devolves into a very grim and nihilistic narrative that is propped up by not only convenient plot devices, but driven by unrealistic actions from previously well established characters.

    The ending is probably one of the most anti-climactic and disappointing aspects of this entry, with no payoffs for the player for having to trudge through what is Nietzsche's wet dream, leaving behind what is a needlessly ambiguous and unfulfilling finale which completely invalidates almost everything had endured up until that point.

    Visually, the game is one of the best on the market, with gritty visuals that help bring the cold and desolate world of this series the life, and for this the game deserves its due credit. From a gameplay perspective, this entry has stayed largely static. There was nothing intrinsically wrong with the first game's combat, but it was nothing special and a bit bland though not bad. The sequel offers more of the same but with a few new additions to revamp the affair. It does still fulfil its role however as the series isn't renowned for any spectacular gameplay. The animations are fluid, the scavenging and crafting aspects are serviceable though the AI has still remained rather horrid despite whichever difficulty you set.

    Though, despite the narrative being severely compromised, it would be rather disingenuous to not acknowledge the fact that it's functional while gorgeous, and therefore not deserving of a completely horrible score, however this is a series that was previously lauded for its fantastic storytelling. It has failed to reach those heights again with its janky pacing, with an over reliance of intermittent flashbacks and expositional preaching through dialogue more aimed at the player themselves than between the characters.

    I would not recommend purchasing this game at all. If you're truly curious, then it would be prudent to hold out for a sale or a used copy. Otherwise, please; just satiate your curiosity of the game's narrative through playthroughs found online as the only thing worse than having to experience this entry as a die hard fan, is the stinging feeling of having wasted money on it.    … Expand

Contudo o que fizeram no segundo game foi nada mais nada menos que desconsiderar tudo que foi feito no primeiro, o que foi desconsiderado? O Enredo... Ninguém muda uma ideologia e passa a confiar em outras pessoas dessa forma, antes desconfiava até da própria sombra e ai... Do nada e por pura conveniência de roteiro salvo um desconhecido e deixo ele me levar para onde ele quiser.

    A Cura? nem leve em consideração... Pois ai vc desconsidera ainda mais o primeiro game.

    O Final? Melhor se não tivesse existido, Thanos está com todas as joias e ai ele desistiu de tudo e a jornada não valeu a pena.

    A Morte? Poderia sim ter matado o protagonista, porém não é condizente com toda jornada realizada anteriormente em outros tempos....

    Ao contrário de muitos, estou votando depois de ter jogado. O jogo tem gráficos belíssimos, uma jogabilidade perfeita. O ponto polêmico vai ser a história e o destino de alguns personagens. Quem não gostar disto depois de ter jogado eu compreendo. Mas, pra mim é um jogo nota 10.

    mi puntaje es 7 porque el juego en su historia esta bien . pero su historia forzo a que te mataran a tu personaje con el que se inicio la franquicia osea joel en el capitulo 1. entonces de ahi ya el juego no es buscar la muerte del virus de la luciernagas. ahora es un juego vengativo por matar ala persona que mato a joel.. su mecanica de juego no cambio tanto de lo que fue the last of us 1.

    This game looks very beautiful. The atmosphere is amazing and you just want to play this game at first sight. No joke, technically this is really well done.     Ok, the story is not the best, I understand, but apart from that we must understand that it is not just the story, there is also the gameplay, the graphics, the effort put into that project, the story is somewhat crusial but it does not deserve a 0 It may be a disappointment for some but you can at least enjoy the mechanics.

    Unlike allot of the other reviews I’ve seen I enjoyed Abby’s chapters, and if anything would like to of had more time learning about the island, and the history of the cult & its leader. I found the gameplay fluid and the constant progression of the story to be well paced.

    The few dislikes I have of the game are way outnumbered by the great elements.

    The ‘take on me’ scene is one of my favourite ever video game moments. Outstanding.    … Expand

Yes the mechanics are great just like first game but naughty dog completely slapped its fans in the face with the story. Absolutely atrocious. I spent all game angry at getting to the next chapter. How can you kill off the games most beloved character? And how could you make a revenge game where the characters doesnt even get revenge at the one person who killed someone close to them? Abbey is just the worst character and even worse you have to play as her. Who wants to play as the killer? Naughty dog absolutely dropped ball on thos game. A great series that was killed before it even got started. Save your money and do not.buy this game.… Expand

Especially killing joel off 20 seconds into the game to NOT EVEN HAVE ELLIE AVENGE HIM

    The first was amazing and will always be. I was expecting so much more from this part, and the plot holes. Dont get me started on the **** santa barbara whole scene. Shouldn’t even be in the game. Makes ZERO sense

    Ellie shouldnt be on the cover of the mf game and they intentionally hid abby from the trailers and misled the trailers so fools would buy the game, and fools we were.    … Expand

    Oh my word. The only reason I didn't rate this a 0 is because of the graphics and the look and feel of the game. That's stunning, but the game play isn't great and the atrocious story line forced me to score this a 1. If you played the first game, DON'T DON'T DON'T play this one. The politically correct forcefeeding is sickening. My wife could not watch the game. She loved the 1st one. Horrible.

    Let me start by saying the graphics and environment are fantastic. Unfortunately that is the only thing good about this game. the story is absolutely garbage and the completely unacceptable. Shame on naughty dog and sony for trying to inject woke politics into a story at the expense of a great game universe. Naughty dog is dead.

    This Naughty Dog masterpiece should have a much higher rating than it is now. This is truly a masterpiece of game art, I am simply amazed: by the detail of the game world and the plot, GOD THIS GAME IS THE BEST IN WHAT I PLAYED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I loved TLOU1, recommended it to many people, and forced several friends to play it. After playing this, I can't recommend it to anyone. Solid graphics, but abhorrent story, with purposefully trashes everything I loved about 1.

    Naughty dog you can buy "professional reviewers" but you can't buy your player base. So disappointing that such a beautiful looking game is trash. This was just a FU to the fan base just for the sake of it. How many people waited for this game? How much money did you spend in this game just to have it ruined for a bad story?

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A lot of people who dog on this game, simply chooses not to understand the game. They choose not to accept the writing because they are typically petty that the writers would have consequences to impacting actions from the first game. let's talk about the first game, it was a masterpiece in storytelling. Naughty Dog had a lot of expectations to deliver another astounding story, and in my opinion, they did. The music, atmosphere, graphics are all astounding. Game-play is rough from time to time, usually with enemies being or allies being broken (not in the sense that I suck, just that dodging only worked like half the time). However, there are great moments of game-play such as the island, the sky-bridge, the rat-king, and almost all of Santa Barbara. The only reasons I'm giving this game an 8 and not a 10 like the first game was some storytelling decisions. I understand why Abby would want to kill Joel, I get why Ellie let go of Abby when she could have easily killed her. I am almost entirely okay with the plot. Some things that threw me off is why Joel would easily trust a stranger and going back to their place. There probably could have been a way better, more logical reason to kill off Joel and kick off the story, this was not it. Also when you're playing as Abby, the whole Lev and Yara sideline, in retrospect, did not feel like it fit the entire story. They were entertaining, but I don't know if it was for the sake of the entirety. Another story issue, and was a very main thing, why would I want to play the antagonist and try and kill Ellie? I believe Naughty Dog wants us to feel conflicted, but I already felt conflicted. Last Of Us fans have played way more numbers of hours as Ellie and very few as Abby, so why would I want to kill her? No one in this story is perfect. I think Naughty Dog deliberately made about everyone savages, which I'm fine with, but I don't want to be playing as Abby and going against the person I'd rather be playing, it took me out of the game, personally. Even though the ending in this game was not as hard-hitting as the first, I still understood and enjoyed it somewhat. They probably could have improved on it rather than choosing to leave a bitter, sour taste in my mouths. Preferably end with a cut scene, that has Ellie and Joel bonding. I'm okay with her forgiving Joel, but at least have them hugging or something, to reward the people who have played twenty plus hours.

    Those are my issues, critiques, praises of the game. Please stop being petty about writing decisions that you choose not to even being willing to understand. Give Naughty Dog credit for at least giving good graphics and game play and the balls and bravery to tell a story like this.    … Expand

    It breaks my heart to write this, but I really did not expect such a poor story after all these years of waiting. While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling.

It was about the awesome cast of people they meet along the way like Tess, Henry and Sam etc. It was about the masterfully wrote storyline that tied everything in together and made everyone really pull for Joel and Ellie to make it through ok.

    So what does ND do? they fire their amazing story writer (who is a female actual feminist), deceive the masses by lying about Ellie being the main playable character (however it is actually abby in this game). They then proceed to kill off joel in a horrible and stupid way in the first few hours of the game. and then have ellie lose basically everything and gain nothing for 0 reason. She gets her fingers bit off by Abby so she can't play t he guitar anymore so that commercial was also a lie. Avoid this game at all cost.    … Expand

Don't be a sheep because a few bad eggs got pissed off because they didn't get the same game as before. This is totally not a 10 game. I would give it a solid 8. This is just the internet.     As a story-driven game, the story is absolutely garbage. Of course the graphics, sound, etc is good, but that is expected from a triple A game these days. The story brought me here, the story and plot holes turned me off. It gets a 1 because of the music.

    The game makes some upsetting choices but in doing so not only tells a compelling story but stays true to the world and characters without giving in to fanservice. The gameplay, graphics, audio design, AI, score, acting, writing, and everything else are setting a new bar for games. Bravo, Naughty Dog!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The ultimate scene that kicks off the events of the entire game relies on completely retconning Joel and Tommy's characters. Throughout the first game, you see these two always being wary of any stranger. Joel even went as far as to attempt to run over a dude with a car because he knew that guy was faking his injury.

    Neil Druckmann comes along and goes, "Nope, let's just throw the entire canon away". He had Joel and Tommy suddenly do a complete 180 on their established characters. They tell a complete group of strangers where their hideout was and Joel told them his real name AFTER THE STRANGERS LOCKED THE DOOR IN THE CABIN.

    What's worse, is the game pathetically tries to get you to sympathize with the character who killed Joel. That attempt fell completely flat when we find out what motivated her to hunt him down: Joel killed the doctor, Abby's dad, who was about to do life-ending surgery on Ellie, who was shown to be an incompetent piece of garbage in the first game. That's right, the game wants you to feel sorry for Abby because her piece of s**t dad was killed for attempting to end Ellie's life without her consent.

    Gameplay is only marginally better than the story. It works, but it's nothing special. The sequel doesn't do much to evolve the mechanics from the 1st game. But if you want to do that, then you need to engage the player in other ways. Well, the game already failed with the story. How about enemy variety and behavior? Sad to say, the enemy AI is very questionable. You could be in their near direct vision and they would still not notice you. You could kill someone with an arrow and his/her companion would not have heard the sound.

    The problem is the pacing and spacing out of the gameplay loop. The first game did a good job spacing out the 'sneak around, gather supplies, kill enemies' phases with puzzles. The sequel throws out the puzzles entirely. As a result, you're left to wash, rinse, and repeat again and again and again for hours.

    Overall, the story is a 0/10 for completely failing barely 2 hours in. I'm sorry, but if you have to rely on retcons to jumpstart the plot, then that disqualifies the entire story. It's like how I don't need to read an entire essay if the thesis is completely garbage. The gameplay, at least, is serviceable, so that's why I'm giving the game a 2/10.    … Expand

    Totally disappointed with the direction that TLOU took, it's okay that the graphics are beautiful, but we all know that what makes a game remarkable is its plot, and the developers lacked creativity in this regard, I had the experience harmed because the game contains several bugs, anyway, graph is not everything ok ND? They pushed too hard on gender ideology.

The last of us part 2. oh god, alright. story wise, trash. everything else (graphics, gameplay, sound, voice acting, ect) amazing. hense the 2. for me, the reason i enjoyed part 1 was because of its increable story, compelling plot, and characters. having a dude who lost his daughter, through horrible eevnts, almost lose a second one was compelling, and felt human. on the contrary, we have a angsty revenge story. not to mention the fact they killed the best character of the game, joel, just like that. abby seemed like such a interesting villain, with her backstory and all. but it was ruined by the writting trying to make us think she was right to kill joel, just completly contradicting what the first game had worked so hard to do. thats bad writting. also why in the heck would joel trust a random girl he just met? he spent the first game not trusting anyone, and that was why his bond with ellie was so special, thats why saving her was so special. cons over, on to the pros.

    imma say it again. this game made me forget this wanst live action. every little detail was amazing. i am not at all hating on this game, i actually enjoyed a lot of the scenes, (mostly the flash backs with joel, sorry but ellie and joel are just too cute together)
