    In a world where 'critics' are obviously paid actors it takes the customers to take up the mantle of critics and do harsh judgement.

    Good things upfront, it features some minor improvements to the gameplay of the first installment, it has the best 'game journalist' difficulty mode, so that I don't even doubt that aforementioned professional 'critics' got through the game in a breeze. Aside from that it looks good graphically but that shouldn't be a surprise.

    Tlou2 is one of those sequels that miss their previously established target audience by a long shot. (Think of Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts) While not as much gameplay wise even more-so in terms of story and character development. The story follows a very clear and easy to understand narrative from the get go, that just like fans of the first tlou gets screwed over in the end.    … Expand

    I understand that this story is not to please everyone, as risky decisions are made. Anyway, those who say it is bad, have no idea. Wanting the protagonist to always die like a hero confirms that people expect every story to end like Disney or Marvel movies. Realistic narrative is very little valued in this community.

Perhaps for the haters the ending was too complex to understand, things did not go as they wanted and they stick to every little thing to evaluate 0/4/3/1 .... embarrassing evaluations and not to be taken into consideration. If my English is incorrect, it's because I'm not English.
    You have to try the game. You can explore and see things that don't appear on gameplay videos if one doesn't explore. I've played twice already and I never get tired. even in fights there are so many possibilities. and the plot is simple sad raw but true. The ending is something spectacular if you think about it. Haters cry because the stark reality of how life really is. Abby ... people don't understand that on the other side there are people with whom you can empathize even though they did what they did ... because they had a reason. There is too much to say to dismantle the haters but not being able to express myself better because I cannot speak English well I stop here. look for foreign reviews and translate it is worth it.    … Expand

The part where you played Abby was a little bit boring to me because i couldn’t sympathize with her, nevertheless this was a pretty solid part of the game. The story is in my opinion great but I was not amused by 1-2 choices in the game.
    The cutscenes are great as well the voice acting.

The first part with Elli to the cinema where Abby came was a 10 out of 10 After that the Part with Abby wasnt relevant to the story.     This game is even better than the last. The mechanics of game play are awesome, the upgraded crafted is great. There are so many new tools at your disposal I love it. The character development with Joel and Ellie is heart wrenching all the way through and the twists are killer. To the people saying that this game is pushing a politics agenda... wtf? This game is being flooded by people who hate diversity and representation. It is simply mob mentality and fabricated outrage. The main character you loved playing as in the first game gets killed without an ounce of honor by a golf bat to the face and then spat on by a self insert of the plotwriter in the first two hours of gameplay. Then you get to play as the man looking woman murderer of your main character for more than few hours and have some dry sex with the self insert of the plotwriter.     WTF have I just witnessed. 10s across the board. On graphics wise it's atheistically beautiful with landscapes and terrain but on story and where it all counts this is daylight robbery for customers and a smack in the face to fans.

    I started this game at 17 pm after getting home earlier from work and got captivated in that world. It was around 4 am I realised, that I didn't even eat and I was actually tired.

    Now after the weekend I'm 20 hours in the story and the game is amazing. The graphics are beautiful, the details are insane and i really like how deep the characters are.     But what makes us buy the game is 80% the storyline. It's just a revenge story which is very common and cheap in Asian. You can find a ton of movies or novels like this back in 90s or in early 2000. This kind of revenge story is very old and out of date, and cheap. I was expecting something better:
    Joel's death is a good idea, but you don't know how to make it logical. How about he die as a hero saving Abby from something. He sacrifice his life as an apologize to her. It would be more meaningful, and we could have loved Abby, too. And Ellie is not John Wick going everywhere killing people like a machine but she eventually spared Abby - the one who had killed Joel. It doesn't make any sense psychologically.
    Someone who say "the storyline is not everything for a game, but a gameplay". You are so wrong, go play The Last Of Us part 1 please...we became TLOU fan because of the story    … Expand

The story does become a bit predictable at times, and it's understandable the frustration players who have strong feelings for the characters in the first game may experience with some of the twists and turns of this sequel - but at the end of the day it's a tragic tale of two cities in which both sides are too caught up in their emotions to realize the harm they're causing.

    Only real detractors for me were that the new infected don't provide any meaningful diversity in gameplay. And as far as the story goes I was left at a few times wishing I could make a decision for myself rather than the mashing in a scripted fight I'm forced to perform.    … Expand

First open world o location Seattle shows us the whole lack of ideas. Corridors and rooms with enemies. 4. I can not explain why, but it is not fun at all to kill infected any more. It is just stupid stealth and that’s it. Melee fights are not fun anymore. It is a big disappointment. It is like Star Wars episode 7 we saw everything before, graphics became better.     It’s a redemption arc about how revenge is bad, but the person who gets revenge walks away free and with a loved one while the one who gives it up because it’s bad loses everything.

    Terrible writing creates an irredeemable character you are forced to play as and there is an unneeded graphic sex scene involving a trans person.

Не знаю, есть смысл сейчас что-то разжевывать и защищать, но лично у меня игра вызвала тону эмоций (от любви, ненависти, злости, радости, недоумения). Для себя нашел минус в истории Эбби, уж, слишком мало или не уверено ее раскрывали. Не дожали на трагедию (Джоэл не мучил ее отца, за что было так издеваться над ним?), не дожали на её мотивацию и исправление (с чем связана такое желание помогать изгоям-шрамам? Она вали их тоннами и по сути были в расчете), совершенно не дожали мотивацию еë друзей (у Эбби убили отца-ок, но почему у них была такая ненависть к нему? Неужели они такие идейные цитаты? Тогда почему это не показали?). И получается, что персонаж выглядит недосказанным, но при этом играть за неё нужно много. В остальном претензий не имею. Конец показался нормальным, ибо столько было жертв (не считаю те сотни npc, которые тут так любят приводить в довод. Это геймплей, камон), что лично мне уже было все равно убьет она ее или нет, ибо видел всякое дерьмо. К тех стороне игры никаких претензий… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Now I'm pretty sure I can speak for every Last of Us Part 1 fans we wanted this game. Now that I have seen this game I'm not sure if I do anymore. The game mechanics/play is still good if not amazing because not only did they keep it the same but added new mechanics such as the prone action, the crouch action, and the Dodge action. The graphics are 10/10 if this series wasn't based off of how **** good the stories were this review would be WAY higher than a 3. But now we get into the storytelling of this game. I want to start off by talking about how Joel died. Now I came into this game expecting this hell I didn't even see the leaks. I already knew Joel was probably going to die and I accepted that, but before this game came out I toid my buddy "Hey if they kill off Joel in a **** way instead of a good one like saving Ellie for example i'm gonna **** blow my goddamn brains out." It's sad to say that they did that. Now I understand making him die for a revenge plot is what they needed to do but the way he died was not what he deserved. Like Joel said at the start of the game "You go halfway across the country with someone." That was our relationship with Joel. Since 2013 we loved him and played that game over and over and over and loved him. We never wanted him to go. Now for the more serious part of this death that was not so great was they had to make Joel act like he isn't him anymore or be dumber than he has been for the past 24 years in that outbreak so he could get in a ambush and die. Like is he even Joel at this point he was easily able to spot a ambush in the first game. He even says his name to random people and him and Tommy both say where they stay. That is so retarded from his standpoint. I know if that was TLOU Part 1 he either would have let Abby die or save her and run away with Tommy back home or just **** kill her. Because that would be sketchy that armed people are near the town. Now lets get into the Abby part. Theres no way we will ever like her I don't care how much you make us feel for her we will never stop ranting until she gets her brains blown out. You want to know why. Because Naughty Dog decided to put her motive to killing Joel in the 2nd or 3rd act instead of the start of the game. That is like showing Sarah die in TLOU part 1 at the end instead of the start. Now the Ending Is stupid. Throughout the entire game its about revenge for Joel. Its funny because Ellie saw a half of a second of a flashback She decides to spare Abby. What. The. **** might I add after Abby bites Ellie's Fingers off TOO. Also what how they could of put Joel in that situation in the first place better was make Abby save his life so he trusted her more and got killed. It's also stupid that Abby doesn't even think "Wow he **** saved my life should I even kill him anymore" Nope shes just **** kills him without remorse. So thats it with Abby the start of a **** character. Now the False Advertising with Joel. I'm guessing Naughty Dog realized if people knew it wasn't going to be mostly with Ellie and Joel they wouldn't buy it knowing that's what made the first game so good. They false advertised just to get us to buy the game and then later feel betrayed by Naughty Dog because they did us so dirty just for **** money. Don't make a sequel just for money. Make it to be better than the first and make people love the franchise. Not milk it for everything it has and ruin the franchise. What also makes me mad they use LGBTQ to get people to buy the game. Literally Dina's purpose/personality/character arc is just to be Ellie's Lesbian girlfriend. Almost forgot to also say "Im pregnant" That's her entire character. Now Bill from the first game. It's very subtle but Bill is actually Gay. The partner Frank was his boyfriend. But they didn't touch into this subject alot because they didn't want his character just to be I'm Gay. They wanted him to be a paranoid alone man who lives alone and doesn't trust anybody. Or Mortal Kombat X where it did this a tad bit worse but still had it go well saying I can't They won't Accept..." Then Raiden would say "they care only about what is in your heart. Not whom your heart desires." They Normalized both characters not making their entire character arc about being Gay Lesbian etc. I don't like what they did to Jesse as well. He is funny and likeable to many in my opinion at least to me. and is becomes after being the smart guy to run out the door knowing their is a intruder. Like you tell everybody to be careful and give all these tips yet you get yourself **** killed. Kinda like how Joel died. Most negative reviews will give this a zero but I don't I love the gameplay I love the graphics. I hate the story, but if a Multiplayer ever comes and it's good. this game will be better.     Joel died so early, so all the flashback after that felt dry.
    Story forced Ellie to not get revenge for Joel's death.
    Ellie lost her fingers, so she lost the only bond left with Joel (ability to play guitar).
    Ellie ended up being in bad terms with Tommy.
    Dina ended up leaving Ellie.
    In the end Ellie ended up alone.

    Who thought all these negative events nonstop would make a good game. A good story is suppose to take us on an emotional roller coaster ride. When the game ended I felt empty and dissatisfied, the more I sat there and thought about it the more I felt angry. I really wanted to like this game, but it turned out to be trash.    … Expand

    A moving, beautiful game, both graphically and emotionally. The Last of Us 2 is a masterclass representation of modern storytelling. The controls are solid, combat is brutal, stealth is fun to use, and the world feels alive through it's intelligently built environments. If you're a fan of 3rd person action adventure games there is no reason to pass this up. It is practically flawless.

    We don't get to choose to kill that stupid ****ing retarded hoe that killed our favourite characters, the incel ass game that forces us to play as WOMEN ONLY, AND WOMEN IN THE GAME, are IN ALL ASPECTS better than men. There will be a moment in the game where Mel and Abby, who are both women, have better shooting scores than Owen. Because women are surely better at that. And I am not trying to be sexist, the developers are being overly tolerant, ugly ass women all of them could have been 100x more appealing, but no. The sjw is so visible, not even hidden. The graphics and gameplay are a ****ing 9-10 but we expected an amazing story from naughty dog, we know they can do that, and it was at the very BEST lack-****ing-luster.     As someone who initially doubted the plot's worth due to the leaked spoilers, I did not want to give the game a chance. Yet, I did.

    From a story perspective, although I would have preferred certain fates were handled better, the journey is definitely one that is worth travelling. The leaks definitely misrepresented the plot. It is a gritty story, it does not pull any punches. You will feel very uncomfortable handling certain moments, which I guess is the intention of the director. Nevertheless, I feel like the story does have some pay-off in the end, or at least it leaves it up to a more positive interpretation.

    Now, do I believe it is perfect? I wouldn't say so. The Last of Us Part 1 is a focused story around the relationship of these two characters, while Part 2 feels more like a story about the world itself. It attempts to provide a plethora of different perspectives, so that all become, to an extent, sympathetic. However, by having such a broad scale, it does not feel as focused as certain players would appreciate. If I were to contrast the two games, Part 1 feels more like a movie while Part 2 feels more like one, or even two seasons of a show, in regards to scale. It worked for me, but I do admit it felt somewhat long at a certain point, as the last few hours felt dragged on.

    Nevertheless, I loved the experience. You can feel the passion behind every single member of the staff, from the animators to the actors that worked on this game. It is NOT an half-assed game.
    There were some great emotional moments that I feel will resonate with many players. I felt had my money's worth, but I can understand that the story is not for everyone. Congratulations for the great game, Naughty Dog ;)    … Expand

    Last of Us 2 suffers the most from its narrative direction being a real mess with very much off pacing of story moments. Its lack of understanding of characters which "The Last of Us" mastered on. The first game knew its story is standard and the gameplay is only so much fun till its time and that is the reason why that game focused on the characters and well written dialogue being only 10 - 15 hours long. This game completely forgets about its own main character design with dialogue not so effective and most of the time coming off as cringy and illogical leading to 'SENSELESS' Character Choices that only exists to keep the story moving forward. The story interestingly focuses on the action/choices and its consequences but still failing miserably by contradicting its own point.

    There is no light in this darkness of The Last of Us 2 nor there is anyone looking for it in this game. It breaks my heart looking at this tragedy and misery this game is.    … Expand
