    **** game. Plot is all ocer the place and characters dont act like they are suppose to act. Way too many subvert expectations moments during the game and also too many jump scares or close call situations.

    At first I thought it was the coolest game I'd ever played but then the story got worse and worse, and the ending was extremely bland, stupid and with a terrible aftertaste. Not buying the next Naughty Dog game, even if it looks good. 1 point for the extreme effort that went into the game. -10 for the story and the smug, elitist and pretentious stance some developers took.

    I prefer to replay tlou1 rather than this.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. From a technical point of view, a great game. Graphics, detail, music, everything is on top. The developers did an amazing job. They put their heart and soul into the game to make it a masterpiece.
    But one man with his own ideology just killed all the efforts of the Naughty dog team. The game's plot is absurd. Throughout the game, we try to impose the ideas and motives of other people's characters for us. They try to justify their actions.
    And in the middle of the current game, I couldn't bring myself to play for a hostile character who killed one main character and kills the second.

    I'm a fan of the first part of the game. The worst thing is that this main person brazenly lied to the fans. The game trailers don't match the game itself. We were tricked from the very beginning to buy the game. Because the trailers promised us a continuation of the story of Ellie and Joel. But there is nothing of this in the game. I spent my money because of Neil Druckman's blatant lies.

    I give the game 1 point. Only because of the love and respect for the Naughty Dog team.    … Expand

    Liked most parts of the game, even understood that the death of a specific important character was part of the story line. Was alright with the LGBT path as well.
    However, the false advertising from the trailer as well as forcing me to play the next half of the game with a terrible character really left a bad after taste. Stupidity forced on you (decided for you) by the Naughty Dog script, that is not a game you enjoy playing.

    Action is repetitive, most combat goes about the same way. The undestructive knife was not very fun, why bother with other weapons.
    Amazing graphics and facial expressions.

    All in all / a boring game to play that forces you to take decisions that feel stupid, instead of the brilliant morally complex decisions from LoU 1.

    The last of us part 2 is like having the most beautiful girl in the world only for her to have a 0/10 personality. Just because it looks good doesn't mean it is good, like a reviewer stated it's a story about right and wrong written by someone who thinks they're always right.

    Compare to the first last of Us this one doesn't live upto the hype. Worst character development all around in the game. Don't waste your time or money. Better to play the first last of Us again.

    Stupid story line. Character build is poor at best. And the mechanics are not smooth, it's like a wanna be TR but not as believable. I gave a 1 because the graphics were pretty good. But very unsatisfied with the game as a whole.

    Como cuando al final del juego Abby ayuda a un niño a bajar de un poste que elli al matar a abby viera el caos que a causado las consecuencias de lo que ha hecho de que sirve ir a matar a abby de nada ella mato a un hombre que era como tú padre que te cuido mato a un amigo tuyo (aunque su muerte me valió queso) hay veces contadas que en este juego un personaje me intereso la única vez que siente dentro del personaje fue cuando elli intento tocar la guitarra con los dedos cortados porque en ese momento elli se da cuenta que perdió su humanidad que se ha vuelto salvaje y que nada es igual    … Expand

    Joel spent 20 years in that Apocalypse and its pretty much all thrown to pieces
    The story writing is horrible. Ellie didn't kill abby because of her she wants to retain her little bit of humanity in? bullsh!t why did she kill strangers who are unrelated to abby then and felt nothing about it but when they confront she suddenly changed her mind?     Soo, I love the Graphics, mechanıcs and all of that, but not the story line. This game was had some much potentıal. They really risked the game, even we get a equal story to the The Last Of Us 1, we love it either. But no. Make the Joel dumb for his Dead. 25 years of pure apocalyptic survive experiance at the first game he was like, '' I trust nobody,being extra leery'' In the Part II like, '' Hello my name is Joel Miller and this is Tommy Miller, we come here from Jackson''. And then Like '' Oh you have friends in a place, nevermind I don't have experiance let's go'' And instantly dies. We don't care about Joel died. I already waited lıke few years thinking '' Probably they are going to kill Joel'' but we care about how he died. Like dumb, 15 years old boy won't do that and Joel like Nevermind let's go! He would be killed next to Ellie because of saving her.Another thing Neil showed us Joel in State Of Play first, I was like Let's go! Joel is here. And he died in first hour, Jessie says Joel's exactly same lines like Bruh. Waited 7 years to play this game and they created a Netflix story line. Like showed a muscular woman, girlfriends you showed Okay! I do not want more but no in 2013 Netflix was not that popular so we get a masterpiece story, now 2020 Netflix storyline. What about Abby huh? They did not show her. I was playing, 20 minutes later some woman showed up like Hello. We played she like more than Ellie. When the half of the game showed up like you are going to play 10 hours of Abby Really. And then play 30 minutes of Ellie and Abby again REALLY. They showed a npc dog, we forced to kill the dog 5 hours later We see the past of the dog, I really do not care! Joel should see some Sarah flashbacks. They forced to hate Joel and Ellie. But no, not Joel.This game had soo much potential... They ruined everything.And they like we did not expect that much hate Really.At the First game killed that doctor with flamethrower, I did not think a second. They forced to kill him and then, Joel be like. '' Oh, I killed a man, hope they don't have daughters or something.'' They forced something, we all did. Ellie killed the pregnant woman they don't give us a change ıt was cinametic and then they expected Hate Ellie look what she done. Oh look Joel he killed his father what would you do? Hate Joel bruh. They tried this in Uncharted 4 to Sam like he showed up like nothing and let's go he is my brother where he been for 4 games, but they ruined in The Last Of Us Part II . Second game that I was hyped after God Of War. God Of War was a masterpiece but not this one. Joel said Literally in The game '' See, There was a sequal, Wasn't as good.'' Good old tricky Joel. The second director said we open the gap for The Last Of Us Part III, please don't do that just don't ruin anymore. Naught Dog was a hero all his games was unique, absolutely amazing but not this one. One more, The Walking Dead Season 1. Joel was Lee, Ellie was clementine. Lee died, Joel died. Telltale make a incredible storyline even the Season 4, they don't created a Netflix story they created a masterpiece. No more things to say.

    A cinematic story-driven game that is designed to leave the player feeling absolutely regretful they paid for this experience. It was a chor to complete. Abandons complete everything from the first game.

    I give this a 1 for the gameplay because it is incredible, but that isnt why I play games. The gameplay doesn't matter of the story is horrendous, which in this game it is unfortunately the case. I've never seen such neglect for beloved characters as well as the fan base. The last of us 1 is one of my favorite games of all time and it really breaks my heart with what they did with this one.

I really enjoyed the part as only playing as Ellie and the way joel went out is absolutely pathetic .your telling me he went 30 years surviving the apocalypse to die like this by some shemale built like hulk and having him trust them no way would he be dumb enough to trust random ppl he met even though he knew ppl would come to kill him . Playing 10 hours as the shemale Abby is more of a waist of time then learning calculus 10 hours all predictable . Never less how the hell is tommy dumb enough to leave a map on the ground near 2 bodies of where they are staying straight bull . Good mechanics, game-play, music and graphics which is why it got a one. But oh the story. No choices, railroaded into a path regardless of player desire. I understand wanting to show and teach with games but this wasn't that. This was not a lesson in anything other than hopelessness and getting trapped in a path and not being able to change from it. The so called lesson? That violence and revenge cost you everything in the end. True. No one has to play video games to know that. That humans suck? Yeah, I think we all know that at this point. I do not play games to experience the ugliness of life. Games for me are a place to explore and escape. Not to be beaten with the ugliness that already is. What is the point of playing a game that is no different that what is on the TV or out my front door? 2020 is hard enough as it is. Shame on you Naughty Dogs.… Expand

Story makes no sense, characters aren't what they were in the first game. I avoided all spoilers and I regret it. I shouldn't have wasted my money on this SJW dumpster fire. I mean when is the last time people played a game for sexual orientation BS gamers play for the story and the first had the story perfect the connection between the two characters was amazing and it developed. But this game is a big F U to gamers who dedicated time to the first one. Abby's gameplay was fun it's just I don't give a crap about abby or mel or any of those retards. I want to see joel and ellie story, matter of fact the best part in the games was joel and ellie in the spaceship. Whilst it has a message about identity politics, it has no story, or at least one the makes sense. It just meanders without any over-riding sense of purpose. The structure isn’t clever; in fact, it works against the faux narrative. It’s attempt to make you care about the character of Abbey is so obvious and poorly-executed that you’ll be yelling at the screen. In fact, I’ve spent too much time on this game already. Then in the end you let Abby go like she didn’t kill the only father figure Ellie ever had, the bond they shared was deep shown in cutscenes so why forgive Abby after completely killing all of Abby’s friends and allies makes no sense.     This game's gameplay is unfortunately too similar to the first. I will say that the music is once again great. However, the unforgiving thing of this game is its story, which is a huge shame because that was what really made the first game shine among all other games. This game turned out to be a huge disappointment.

It still contains ND'd "narrow corridors" both from a gameplay and a storytelling perspective. However, while this worked in the Uncharted games and TLOU I, since you could    I have never played a game where you (the player) is so disconnected from the main character.

The combat is clunky and camera positioning is beyond awful at the worse times. The stupid notes and backgrounds for side characters seems more well thought out than the main stories for main characters. The stupid notes and backgrounds for side characters seems more well thought out than the main stories for main characters. I feel as if a great game has turned into something awful and irredeemable. I am going to return the game on tuesday after binge playing and feeling more disappointed in it than I did in amy other game to date. I feel as if I wasted time and effort trying to enjoy something that's not good. I feel slighted by it. The graphics are amazing and that's about the best thing about it. EL doesn't feel like EL. I had big hopes for this game, was hoping to see a lot of bonding between Ellie and Joel, but what we get to see is Joel getting brutally killed in front of Ellie. Every person in the world instantly hated Abby and ND forces you to feel sorry for her. I'm sorry, but HELL NO. I don't care what happened to Abby, I don't care what happens in her part of the story, all I care about is, you killed the the character so early in the game that you had built upon in the first game. My second point for disliking the story is the way they presented Joel in Part 2. So we all know how Joel is like in the first game, he doesn't trust anybody early, keeps himself discreet, etc. Now you make him so Naive that he trusts a Stranger and goes into her house/hideout and without any hesitation tells his name? That is Pure BS. They could've done soooo much with the story and I think they chose the worst way for the story.

    The first of all...the good things is the graphics!!! It is very nice but the rest....just sucked. Stelth game function has not changed much from 7 years ago...and most importantly the story was really no meaning except Ellie and Abbys revenge.... Just nothing talking about infection and how it is created....very sad. I would like to see if other creator can remake this Part 2 if they can!!!

    The bad:
    - Story: The obvious is the storytelling that doesn't compare to the first game, i do understand it is a bold move by Neil but having social agenda and shoving such themes to gamers not only break the immersion/realism of the flow of the story but also creates unnatural events which i can only say to subvert expectation of those who play it. Of course i won't spoil, but the game tries to pull a red wedding moment without any build up and utimately just reminds me of the the 'iron fleet' plot hole in Game of thrones S8.
    - Characters: The game forces a femenism agenda that utimately fails to portray them as strong and independent characters (the game seems to insult more than portray femenism in a positive manner). I know anita sarkeesian took some sort of contribution or influence on druckman in writing some of these characters, and it shows with all female characters taking all the glory and moments that are not earned while the men are seen as 'bigots'. Now there are heaps of games and movies out there that do illustrate the natural earned independent female role for example THE LAST OF US PART 1. All characters have flaws, fears and weaknesses which most of these notions must be overcomed in order to develop throughout the game and thus creates a realistic and likeable characters. This game however provides you characters with titles and assume that will be enough for you to either symphathise or like these characters such as 'pregnant lady going to the frontline', 'bastard child that is on roids' & 'transgender daughter living in a viking esque society'. These characters could have been explored more in dept and had a potential to build a connection between the player with these characters but the writer just chose to list and shove as many social agenda message as possible. Worst part is all characters we know in the first game are completely written off with actions and dialogue that do not make any sense with their personalities such as Tommy for example. Again this can be compared with the poor writing in GOT S8 with daenerys who spent 7 seasons building up trust with the people and hopefully applying the same method in westeros... and we know how that went.

    Gameplay: The game is essentially the same as part 1 with only a few new infected class, an ability to prone/jump and human AI having different weapons according to what society they belong to. There are less puzzles than the first game such as the rope and rubbish bin to get you to places which is a disapointment. As a linear game it's expected from you to get from point A-B, would of been cool if they could introduce different branches that could provide different experiences to players and would increase the replayability.

    Overall as a standalone game it is a 5/10 and a wait for a massive sale (85%-90% OFF) as there are moments in this game that you can get enjoyment out of. However my score is a 1/10 for many reasons that is more related to the developer (Naughty Dog) and the director (Neil Druckman).
    Reason for the main score:
    1.A disgusting amount of cencorship to many honest critics and people who voice their concerns with the game (not able to take constructive critisim? not going to last long in a capitalistic society mate).

    2.Bullying reviewers and journalist who either mention any negativity of the game or it's development (which moves to my next point).

    3. Treatment of their staff: force to overwork their staff and have the audacity to hold off their checks after their contract has been fulfilled unless they fill an agreement form to not speak of how they are treated while employed at Naughty Dog. I know 'crunch' culture is a thing, but there is a fine line when you stripped not only their freedom at work but also their voice.

    4. Using bots/fans/followers to write negative reviews on well made games such as Ghost of Tsushima. A really coward and desperate method in trying to increase your rating for PS4 exclusive.

    Overall i have lost faith in Naughty dog and Neil Druckman and my only last sentence sums up what they have become. "A shamful display"- Shogun 2    … Expand

    Controller vibration feature was used so well. When you push things, cut scenes have an impact it really was adapted well and gave you the sense of being there.

Long story short I think it would have been a beautiful game and story if you let better people like Clint Eastwood to direct and write the story rather than Neil Druckmann and Halley Gross. Would have had a better result with nicer touching story that made sense, and appealed to the audience.
    (Clint Eastwood won multiple awards from directing so don't you dare even go on that "art" nonsense)

    The plot did not make sense, it was not coherent. As you can see on most of the reviews the majority of people could not follow or understand the flow of the characters' thoughts and emotions.
    Is this because of the fact that a lot of characters went through extremely traumatising events and their mind is broken beyond repair (or changed their personality for good), or just poor storytelling?

    It was very hard to attach yourself to the story, that whenever difficult or tedious parts of game arise it made me wonder if I had any good reason to percevere on, spend my time and effort on this, and if I should drop it there.

    Different parts of stories were jumbled up in poor order and it made concentrating on the story and emotions difficult.

    They tried to mix in PC on top, and it was utterly awful.
    My definition of PC was that "you are defined by your action, not of what you are".

    In TLOU2 it seems all the characters are nothing but their gender identity. It does not matter what gender, race, or gender preference you have. There is nothing else other tha their gender identity to these characters. There is nothing to show them what kind of person they are. Ellie is nothing but a lesbian, the other character is nothing but a radical feminist symbolism. Another funny thing is they keep harping on PC the entire game but their so-called "PC" is awfully biased. There is hardly any Asian throughout the entire two series (apart from the crazy cult group that they don't even bother to elaborate the story onto). Even the doctor (who managed to race-swap from black to white), and nurses; there wasn't a single Asian. Funny when you think of how many Asians are in medical field. Are Asians more susceptible of spores in TLOU? Good medicines taste bitter on your tongue. It may not be a pleasant feedback but please listen for your own sake, if you want to get a "second chance" to make more games as you said.    … Expand

    If you're a fan of this franchise and have followed the story from the first game, you may find it disappointing. The story leaves a lot to be desired in terms of the flow of the storyline. The flashback sequences are not paced constructively and new characters are shoehorned in a manner that the player barely has a chance to invest in their stories. There is a lot going on and the jumping of character viewpoints is jarring to the point that it can be frustrating.

    That being said, this game does offer visuals and gameplay mechanics which are breathtaking but this by itself is not sufficient to redeem this lackluster sequel.    … Expand

    What a disappointment. Awesome graphics but horribly written plot. Games are supposed to be fun for those playing. You forced a character down our throats that we hated so much. The narrative is so childish and insulting. Then to add insult to injury, their VP shows up on shows to tell us that our opinion does not matter. Really???
    Did you make the game to make yourself feel better?

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
