This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Finished the game about an hour ago. Really been thinking about it. I really enjoyed this experience and don't understand how people have been giving such low scores. The gameplay is vastly improved from the first game. Playing as Abby is a completely different experience from playing as ellie. It allows you to think more outside of your comfort zone and what youre used to. Abby does not have a knife like Ellie so it allows you to craft shows like joel had to do in the first game. The small amount of new mechanics that were added such as jumping and dodging may seem small but really give you a fleshed out and more realistic experience. The story is really solid for most of the game. Although it is hard to be invested in the story upon the second part of the game. They really do a good job with Abby's story and eventually make you come around and start to like her as a character also there was a hotline Miami reference which is 100 extra points. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I totally understand, that people don´t like the development of their beloved characters. Really, I know. I was shocked too, after what happens in the first few hours.
But, and this is what I give Naughty Dog big credit for, it is the most realistic scenario I have ever seen in a video game. Even teh switch between characters makes sense to me. I was filled with hatred, but then I started to realize that there is another perspective of seeing things from a different character with a different point of view. In a post-apocalyptic world, wouldn´t we all do what Ellie tries to do, vice versa wouldn´t we all try to do what Abby did?
It really is kind of brave to do a video game like this one. And for sure Naughty Dog knew too well, that there will be a lot of disappointment within the community.
But for me, the way of storytelling and the Story itself is really brilliant. And very tough to deal with.
At the end I had it all, Hate for the first hours, indecision in the middle, and by the end I had sympathy for all the leading characters.

After the first one, I was also hoping for a "they lived happily ever after"...but in a world like this, it makes sense, that someone comes after you, after what you did in the end of Part 1.

So, blame me, but I am still thinking about the ending and the game itself. I really love it. And just like after the first game´s ending I hope that "they will NOW live happily ever after".

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was looking forward to this game after really enjoying the story from the first TLOU game. Personally I would give that original an 8 or 9. Story wise the original had a great story but some of the game play mechanics held it back. Also, as a personal note. I would never give a game a 10 or a 0; there is always something aspects that could be improved or is great that impacts this for me.

I was hoping to get to see more of the original story and see what would happen to Joel and Ellie. Though after my play through it seems like characters are not acting like their original counterparts. Sadly I think this game is a big let down for me. I think I would have been better off just watching some compiled cut scene video instead of buying. Some spoilers may be noted below.

    Good aspects:
    - Great visuals and linear level design. Graphically the game looks good.
    - Good voice acting. This really does seem like it could be more like a movie than a game.

    Ok aspects:
    - Level design is larger, but still very linear in design. Personally, would have wished we could have seen what a more open environment would have lent to this game.
    - Mechanics are still fairly close to the first game and not much is different at first glance. Core game play is still close to the first game.
    - Stealth aspects do provide a good pacing and tension. But, it will feel not as polished as other more stealth based games.
    - AI is ok, but feels very outdated and not any different than any other games.

    Bad aspects:
    - Overall story, was a major let down for me. I get that this is a revenge plot story but you don't see any resolution or closure for the main character.
    - Characters not acting in line with their past habits or known character aspects. (e.g. you have Joel who is openly trusting not familiar people early on. Joel was not like this and had an open mistrust of new people)
    - There is a lot of plot holes as the story continues on into latter parts of the story
    - Side quest section of the game seems drawn out and doesn't add much. This was around 8-10hrs of game play for me that could have been cut from the game and I don't personally feel it would have changed things.

Overall I was not a fan of this sequel to the first game. The only saving grace to me was visuals and the voice acting. I get what the Naughty Dog team was trying to do in that they wanted a divisive story that may not be for everyone. I think you have achieved that. It was tough getting through this game. With Joel being killed off very quickly and a revenge story that never seem to find any resolutions for Ellie. She never got her revenge and Abby gets away with everything.

Overall if you are fan of the first game and looking for more story telling on that aspect I think you will be let down. I can't say that I would recommend this game to many fans of the first game.

Horrible writing. Poor character development, decisions completely out of character. These are different people wearing their faces. Not because they matured, but because they needed to push the story forward and create situations. Trashed the core of who they were and everything that made the game memorable.

No game should be actively trying to make you feel bad about yourself and everything. It felt like a slog in misery. You end up hating everyone in the game.

I do not recommend. Dumpster fire of a sequel.

If you want to kill his character off fine, but give his character the respect he EARNED the way the story went about it is a complete mess of incompetent writing. The ending is even worse than all the leaks. A revenge tale that ends with no revenge and leaves everyone playing confused and unsatisfied. The way the story completely annihilated Ellie’s character is one of the biggest disappointments of the gaming industry. These story writers should never be allowed to work on another game again. The only reason for killing joel was to give us this sorry excuse for a sequel, how does a man who survived everything the world has throw at him for the last 25 years gets killed in the worst possible way ever. than the game makes you play as the person who kills joel for a big part of the game in order for us to feel bad for her and justify her actions of killing her. horrible story whoever though this was a good idea obviously didn't understand the story and attached fans felt with joel and ellie for it to end with joel being killed off in such a petty way its completely idiotic. I and probably many fans though that joel would die in this game but in a more meaningful way, protecting ellie or sacrificing himself, not for a disgraceful revenge story. the fact that they make you play as this character is pretty much the worst decision ever. I put the controller down uninstalled the game and returned it to gamestop. never have I ever wanted to kill a video game character more than abby and it turns out ellie doesn't even do it. yeah heads up ellie has no problem murdering about 100+ people to get to her just to let her go in the end. worst of all ellie literally loses everything, joel, dina and the life they created, she even loses her pinky finger and ring finger and cant play the guitar anymore. holy crap the girl walks into the woods and the credits roll. what a terrible ending for such a loved character this sequel defiantly should not have been made. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me start by saying that TLOU1 is my favourite game ever, rivaled only by Metal Gear Solid. But it's sequel, simply put, is an extremely unpleasant game in most aspects. From the story to the needless violence in most interactions. Here's why:

First, they kill off Joel in the first hours of the game, one of the most beloved and iconic PS4 characters of all time. We don't even get any positive interactions between him and Ellie before this happens, as they are barely speaking, from what we hear. Then, the whole point of the rest of the game is this incessant search for revenge, which endangers every other interesting character in the game. Revenge itself it's a silly and overused motivation, in every realm, but here it feels specially empty. Even after discovering that Dina is pregnant, Ellie still won't leave Seattle and choses to risk it all due to some bloodlust that has nothing to do with her character from the first game. This was entirely off-putting. (Also, Joel would CERTAINLY be using codenames since everyone in that hospital from the first game called him by his real name. There is NO WAY that Joel would be this careless. It's just really hard to buy.)

Despite not agreeing with Ellie, the game is ok until halfway through, which is when it really took a very sharp downturn to me and most people: you take control of Abby, Joel's killer, for pretty much the rest of the game. This shell of a character, who you are supposed to 'bond' with and care for her motivations and backstory, but in reality you hate and wish she'd just drop dead to the first Clicker she sees. You are FORCED to control her through FIFTEEN HOURS just as she has Ellie at gunpoint and kills Jesse with a headshot. FIFTEEN HOURS. Hence, a very unpleasant 15 hours since you're curious and NOT AT ALL interested in Abby and her dealings.

This is when i started to rush things. Stopped exploring every single building, stopped being stealthy in combat, stopped reading notes - just stopped enjoying the game altogether. I did not care for any of it, i just wanted to play out the scene between Ellie and her. Nothing else. Therefore, it was impossible for me to care about Yara and her brother/sister. It felt like an attempt to prolongue the story with these bleak, non-interesting characters, of whom we've had plenty of in other games. It all felt very vague, especially the Abby-Owen endless interactions in the Aquarium.

The ending: after being forcefully dragged through the entire campaing, having to do things you don't agree with and seeing, going on missions that don't make ANY sense (like the Ground Zero part to save Yara, another character you don't care for) and seeing A LOT of violence along the way, you finally get some peace at the farm. This is by far the best area of the game as far as character interactions go, as Ellie and Dina's relationship seems very real and you can almost believe that those are real people who, despite being scarred phisically and mentally, are attempting to have a normal, happy life. Which is why it makes you drop your controller and just say 'Get the **** outta here' when you realise Ellie is going to do the EXACT SAME THING all over again: chase the girl who killed Joel and who spared you TWO TIMES.

At this point, i found myself simply not caring: not caring about Ellie after so many dumb decisions, not caring about Abby since she killed a fan favourite (and is just an extremely weak character all around) and not caring about revenge after everything that went down at Seattle. I was just completely uninterested in the closure, and definitely uninterested in the violence that would inevitably come with it. As it did.

In that last hour of the game, Ellie loses everything. From the knife that her mom gave her (and was the only memento she had of her), to a couple of fingers (and the ability to play guitar like Joel taught her) and her family, since Dina left the farm with JJ. But i was weirdly unaffected by this, as the game had lost me entirely on this second vengeance run. None of it made any sense and it all felt way too forced. Hell, in that last fight i did not even care who won, as i came to despise both characters. THAT is how unpleasant this entire game was, despite looking amazing.

Overall, Naughty Dog traded two deep, beloved characters for two shallow and uninteresting ones, in Abby and Lev. Both Joel and Ellie's characters came to an end, in different manners, but they did. Joel is dead and Ellie is no longer a character we love - quite the opposite. She's made so many dumb choices along the way that it became impossible to relate with her.

And so it is. She wanders off into the woods, with the Fireflies symbol, implying she's gonna try to find them again and develop a vaccine, so her life has meaning again.

Thee game looks amazing, has terrific gameplay and sound effects, but it goes out of it's way to make you feel TERRIBLE and, in the end, leaves you with nothing.

I agree that some early story elements where disappointing and the fact that we just didn’t see it coming does not make it good writing. Still, it is not a bad game, it has character development, gameplay mechanics and graphics are much better than the previous game (this for some reason I’ve heard many people disagree with, I don’t understand why, like really? The graphics from part 1 which a 7 year old game is much better than this one, now you’re just making up excuses), it has a some horror sections that I believe even surpass similar sections from part 1. I played Last of us part 1, I love the game. I even got the platinum trophy, which is not something you get in just one or two playthroughs. I don’t believe that we should kill this game simply because of the death of our favorite character, Joel (Which we knew was going to happen, it just happened way before we expected). If you wanted more Ellie and Joel time then please continue playing the game and you’ll get some heart worming, action packed and revealing section with those like you wanted. Expand

So in that aspect this game, although divisive, is already accomplishing what it sets out to do. Get an emotional response. From the time the game opens to the closing frame, I have to disagree with the others. I loved everything about this game. The combat was tight, tense, and frantic. The pacing of the story, the gorgeous visuals. I think a lot of what sparked the outrage is the very brutal and swift nature of his demise. Everyone is quick to ask how could they do that to Joel!? He did what he did to save Ellie!? Ok, but that doesn't mean he's a good man. All of the characters in our story have grown to do heinous things for the ones they loved after society fell.. Violence begets violence and we know that Joel did **** that we never see that is pretty heinous. I loved seeing the way the paths crossed between Ellie and Abbey and at the end of the day I'm excited to see where the story goes from here. Calm yourselves neckbeards of the world's. I have waited 7 years to know how this amazing story would develop... first of all, Ellie never even got the chance to truly apolagize Joel, keeping in mind that the only thing he did has SAVE HER, over and over again. Then the game goes to a path where one of the most beloved characters dies in such a miresable way. I was so shock that I didn't even know if i would like to continue playing. Joel deserved vengeance. The only goal Ellie had on tis game was to kill all of the people that had helped to murder Joel in such a brutal way, and she didn't even had the guts to do that. And by the ending of the story, Joel is dead, Tommy almost died, Ellie lost her family and two fingers for NOTHING. All these years waiting, and this is what we get? I'm devastated.
So many hours playing as Abby, knowing that she killed one of my favorite characters.

In last of us 1, the whole thing is about Ellie and Joel and you grow to really love and care about them

In last of us 2, they kill off Joel in the first 2 hours. Then, they make you play as his killer (Abby) for 10 hours, as you try to kill Ellie. Then, you play as Ellie for 10 hours trying to kill Abby. You kill hundreds of people and dogs trying to do this. Then, after all that, Ellie doesn’t kill Abby, and nearly all the characters are dead, abandoned Ellie, or are crippled by injuries. The final shot is Ellie trying to play Joel’s guitar, but failing to because Abby bit off two of her fingers

You can’t make that **** up

And people have been waiting for 7 years for this

Extremely dissapointing, specially if you love a good story and can't bear political correctness anymore being forced in our favourite movies, tv series and now apparently games too. In my opinion, The Last of Us ended with the first game, that was pure art.

I don't normally review games, but I honestly was so repulsed by the laziness of the story and poor writing that I signed up to do my small part to ensure that other gamers who fell in love with the first game don't waste their money, and worse, retroactively ruin the memory of the first game by playing this game.

This game is more than a let down, its destructive to all the good the last game accomplished with respect to Gaming and Narrative. It breaks my heart to write this, as I loved the last game so much, but this game is beyond garbage, it trades on the good memories we have of the brilliance of last game and then engages in the most lazy and poor storytelling possible.

Forget, for a moment, the shoehorning of various political issues - that is just a symptom of the lazy storytelling, non-existent character development, and all-around lack of attention to anything resembling a narrative in this game. Do yourself a favor. Don't Buy This. It will ruin the previous game for you.

Story is garbage, Character development is non-existent, Motivations are simpler than in a bad children's book...and yes, there is a shoehorning of every conceivable hot-topic political issue into the game. I left that bit for last because I really don't want to be accused of that being my only reason for giving this game a poor review.

    Some Positives:
Gameplay mechanics are great, but really nothing more than a small improvement on the previous game.

The world is more open and the story doesn't keep you on rails as much as the last one, but because the story is such a thin broth, this is a blessing.

The map is much better and the levels of difficulty are more in-depth.
    The photo-mode is nice.

But that's about it. This game is the opposite of a continuation of something good. It is a negation of the last game. Don't play if you want to keep your memories of the franchise positive.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As someone who beat the game I can say the gameplay and graphics are top tier. I would say the first half of the game is good even if you don't like what happens to Joel. But man once you get put in Abby's perspective it just gets so bad. Since it goes to her perspective on a cliffhanger on Ellie's POV all I wanted was to go back to Ellie, but the game makes you keep playing Abby and keep doing it for hours and hours. Sure you understand her character and the fact that shes not a terrible person, but in the end I still didn't care about her. The entire time playing as her, I just wanted it to end and see her friends suffer, quite a bit. The theme of the story was evident and the way the story would unfold was extremely predictable with absolutely no payoff. By 75% through Abby's POV i was so desensitized from all the violence and all the shock value Naughty dog put into the game and I could not find how the story could possibly salvage itself in the end, and it didn't.

The ending makes sense at face value but if you think about all the actions it really doesn't add up. Ellie basically decides to spare Abby's life after all the murder she's done because "Joel would want Ellie to be able to forgive." Nevermind the fact that you literally killed hundreds of humans that could easily have a similar backstory, you can't kill Abby who you much more reason to kill because.... I have no clue why. I guess you gotta end the cycle of violence that's extremely evident in the story. Still in a zombie apocalyptic world where violence is necessary and everyone does it without a drop of a hat though. But I guess in the end Ellie learned her lesson and will never kill again, because killing is bad! Can't wait to see The Last of Us Part III where everything is flowers and roses since Ellie stops killing from this point onwards since she learned her lesson right? No more killing for the rest of her life because that would start the whole cycle again. If you think about both POV you could say both characters learn or should learn a lesson, and both contradict each other. On Abby's side it would really just be don't spare anyone and tie your loose ends. Hell, if Abby just killed Ellie and Tommy along with Joel none of her friends would have died. And on Ellie's side it would be to know when to give it up and be thankful with what you have, that way she'd at least have Dina and the kid with her. So I guess the real lesson is, when you do commit violence make sure to kill all the witnesses, and if you are the victim then its best to just forgive the villain and make do with the rest of your life.

Honestly this game just felt like a huge middle finger from the devs to the fans. The only people I can see enjoy this game are those that get off of pain and torture and losing everything dear to you. So yeah get this game if you like that, otherwise save your money.

    PROS:
    1. The graphics is top-notch.
    2. The cutscenes and voice acting is really good.
    3. The gameplay, though not really anything new or innovative, was still solid.

    CONS:
    1. The story and its direction.
    2. The characters and how they were portrait or lack there of.
    3. The story plot of revenge doesn't make any sense at the end.
    4. The entire setup and ending from part 1 was destroyed and disregarded in the first few hours.
    5. Everything in the trailers were a misrepresentation of the game.
    6. This game was more like a movie than a video game.

Overall, I did not enjoy the game. The story, it's direction, its pace and the direction of its characters were not enjoyable. The creator of the game said, there's no "fun" in this. And they were right. This game is not fun to play.

Pretty much all these review bombs saying the games story is terrible are just people who are unable to accept the fact that companies sometimes need to add and change things to the sequel. Most are saying how unlikable Abby is and for me I can agree with some of that. But at this point most of these bad reviews just want something to hate. In all honesty Abby is such a pain to see in the game in the beginning. Even as the game went on and I still was playing Ellie I hated her more and more. But finally I got to play as her and it put things in perspective. It shows you the other side of things and how Ellie isn’t always in the right just because she’s the protagonist. You slowly start to bond and kinda like the people you set out and killed earlier in the story which I really liked. Don’t get me wrong this game sure isn’t perfect but most of these terrible reviews are just white knight Joel butt buddies who are just sad you can’t play as him again Expand

Graphics are beautiful, perhaps the prettiest I've seen on consoles yet, but It's a known fact that Naughty Dog follows a disgusting crunch work policy that needs to stop ASAP.
And although it's beautiful, said beauty does NOT save the game from its poorly written, badly paced overly convoluted story. The fact that we are forced to try and empathize with the previous protagonist's killer while watching every cherished character suffer a horrible fate makes it feel like this game's screenwriters wanted players to forcibly like Abby and dislike everyone before her. I don't see how anyone would think thought selling this crappy product was ok. I'm expecting a chance to get my money back

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Vence a Abby.

But The Last of Us Part 2 ruined the franchise for me. I admit i am only half way through the game and I am not mad they killed Joel, what I am mad about is how how they did it. He died out of character. He was always someone who was skeptical of strangers and tried his best to stay out of situations like he was in. But in part 2, he just walked right into a room knowing he probably has people looking for him after how many people he's killed in the past. Not only that but part 2 make you play as the person who kills Joel.... **** that. Every time I controlled Abby, i just wanted to quit the game. The only feeling I had for her was HATE. - All these reviews saying this game is not worth it because they don't like the plot is pathetic. Writers can write whatever they want and this is nowhere near next to GoT S8. I didn't come in with any spoilers, so I wasn't sure why she was seeking vengeance at all. I was worried the whole town was going to be overrun like too many times in The Walking Dead. People are saying Joel would never have walked into an ambush, but it wasn't planned besides by Abby on the fly, so the group wasn't being suspicious besides her psychotic self. It was legit just one woman on her own running from zombies- yeah she is crazy buff, but that was a huge horde- much bigger than we ever had in the first game. It made sense to seek shelter. Now Tommy's invite was dragging it...

While I still wanted Abby to die in the end, that doesn't make the game not enthralling and overall incredible experience. I was seeing red as much as Ellie and 100% was with her on her murder spree. If you can't see where her character is coming from then, you need to think more about what Joel meant to her and what he did for her. Also, they are in a post-apocalyptic, ultra-violent world- after seeing her father figure die while those people held her down and spit on him- who cares if they let her live(I appreciate it though) they are all going down. I loved all of their flashback scenes and definitely noted how they never said I love you. They expressed it differently. Imagine how terrifying it is that the people you love the most can be killed at any moment and humanity is barely surviving. We are honestly too privileged even as people with enough physical and financial stability to have gaming consoles (think Yemen rn) to fathom those psychological effects.

I hated playing as Abby hunting Ellie, but I think that's what they were going for. It would've killed me if they made you play the killer of Joel while she killed Ellie- that's too much. I think perhaps the plot would've made more sense to everyone if Joel was kidnapped and Ellie had to save him. That's not perfect, but some of the major gripes could be ameliorated. Killing anyone necessary to get to Joel vs killing anyone necessary to get to his killer and then not kill her? If Joel died around the time when they switched to Abby, then we could've fit in that vengeance thread much better. We didn't need Abby's perspective to make this work, we needed to really expand on Ellie. Showing the WLF and Seraphite camps were appreciated, but Ellie could've been the one on the Island and the WLF part could've been much shorter.

So I missed Ellie for hours and hours, but that doesn't mean the gameplay wasn't topnotch throughout. Anyone complaining about it needs to seriously think if they are comparing this game to imaginary ones in their heads. I don't know of a game that made me feel more in it. It's weighted, emotional and tense. There are various ways to engage with the different enemies and if you don't want to deal with them then you can see if you can just sprint out of there. I did that a few times with the stalkers for sure... I would also want more objects to be able to fall over or moved so the npcs can be lured or find you easier.

While I don't love the story of this game, it is still 100% worth playing and I'll definitely play it again. While I am excited to play again, it is so dark and energetically draining(in a good way), I'm going to need a few weeks break. I'm rating it 10 to counteract the hate, but I would say the story brings it down to a 8/10 because I really just wanted more Ellie. Abby's only saving grace was because Lev stopped her, she hadn't learned anything since she killed Joel. Her saving what she called "Scars" was her redeeming herself for killing the Seraphites for years, it had nothing to do with Joel. She never felt what she did was wrong, she was only told it was. I wanted Dina to live, but if Abby killed her (wow that would've been so sad for Ellie) her Santa Barbara journey would've worked more. As much as I liked Lev, he's the reason his sister lost her arm then her life (two separate choices), so if I had a choice as Ellie, I would've killed Abby and then that kid to end the cycle right there... y'all both free from this zombie hell now, you welcome. Vengeance sought.

I have never been more passionate about a game or cared as much about a game being bad and this is BAD. Game play is fine i guess same as the first game a little more buggy with the enemy A.I. and fight animations but its whatever. My problem is that this game is literally pointless. Their is absolutely nothing gained for Ellie and all she did was lose. All that was learned is that revenge bad. Let me start off with that i was ok with Joel dying i basically knew it was gonna happen but the way they did it in a way that made the least sense. Joel who is borderline 60 years old whose been surviving for almost 30 years by not trusting anyone. trusts a group of random strangers heavily armed and outnumbering him and Tommy and he just introduces himself and tells them where their camp is. these characters were not this freaking stupid we are talking joel and Tommy here i just god. it is such lazy writing. and the next worse part is you play as the character that killed joel for literally half the game and your just playing her while hating her and you just feel like garbage the whole time. And if you dont hate her then your just a psychopath. Ellie just loses everything in this and all to teach that revenge bad so you don't even get the satisfaction of killing the one that killed Joel. i was so exited for this game and i know they could have done it right. but it just feels like a bunched of mashed up crap together. imagine if they had just done the flashbacks and playing as Abby as to humanize her all leading up to Joels death. that would have worked so much better but it just feels like a lazy agenda push. i have never been left more unsatisfied with a games ending in my life. and so much work leading up to it all while your just feeling dead inside. I'm sad to say that i Strongly advise people just not play this game and just think of only the first game as cannon. 0/10 Literally pointless. A soulless uninspired sequel. Ruined my day. Expand

I'll first state this, the graphics were a 10/10 and the gameplay was an 8/10, however the story ruined the game. After Joel died I gave the game the benefit of the doubt. Yes, everyone including me was very upset about the death of Joel. However it could've been done right, but it was porly executed. I enjoyed the story though until the last half of the game. When I realized I had to play 10+ hours as the most unlikable character ever, Abby. I almost quit playing. I kept if they am playing though to see if Ellie gets revenge. Only to find out the ending gave Abby the happy ending and left Ellie alone and her life meaningless. I give the story a 3/10. I will never pick up this game again and now in my mind the only thing cannon about the last of us part II is the last of us' secret epilogue that they put in at the beginning of this game. I am not going to play the last of us part III if they make one either because clearly they are setting it up to star Abby. Very disappointed. Not worth $60. Expand

one of the best games I've played in years, either because of the gameplay, which is improved from 1; a very good linear story, which manages to generate in the player a feeling of revenge.

This is not the sequel we wanted. I have to admit, this is a good game, good plot and what this game wants to tell us. However it would be fine if wouldn't this game has a name "The Last of Us". This is a good game but a bad sequel.

There are some consequences in getting revenge and that is the reality that we need to know and just we need to accept it. But the gameplay is good and the graphics are the best. Expand

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
