    The graphics in this game are phenomenal. The game play is great. It feels solid, smooth, brutal, all good things. The problem for me at least is the story. Some of the decisions of the characters fell so weird, out of place. Most of all at end. The story is were the game falls flat.

    Good story. But not for everybody. It makes you think and not leave you indifferent. Sorry for Joel, but this story is not about that at all. That revenge will not lead to anything. Deserved mark. Thank you developers

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going to get the incredible characteristics of this game out of the way.
    There is no doubt in my mind that this may be the most stunning video game I have ever played.

    - The graphics are out of this world,
    - The audio design is complex and atmospheric
    - The voice acting was phenomenally done by a group of incredibly talented actors.
    - The environment has an engrossing allure to it that makes made me feel like I was truly there.

    However, there are a few fascinatingly apparent flaws that I will not get out of the way: storytelling and character development.

    In a game franchise such as The Last Of Us, the graphics and audio design is hardly anything compared to the impact the story has on the player. There are far too many shallow characters, plot holes, timeline shifts, and unnecessary plot points for this game to exceed the gaming industry with the same success shown by the first game. Not to mention the horrific choice made for Ellie in the ending. Here are a few notable mentions:

    Con #1) Why does Ellie's anger show no recollection or representation as seen in The Last Of Us 1? When Ellie was faced with situations in which she needed to defend Joel, she killed everybody in the way. No questions asked. But in this game, when Ellie finally has her chance to avenge him, how the hell did Naughty Dog decide that Ellie no longer had a hatred towards Abby after she receives a flashback of Joel's brutally bloodied head? Because Ellie felt for Abby? Because she thought if she killed Abby she would be doing Joel wrong? Did we forget this game was about Ellie's revenge? All of Abby's friends were murdered, she killed Ellie's friends with no hesitation. All of Ellie's friends were murdered, yet she doesn't feel the need for revenge, the entire point of this plot. Now some may argue that this is an act of Ellie maturing and understanding the consequences of her actions. To me, that is a load of BS. Ellie has made many choices in this game that stray so far from her as a character that it almost feels like a different person.

    - Con #2) Abby, alongside many of the new characters in this game, have absolutely NO depth in any way. The only characters I really felt for were the ones shown in the previous game, I wonder why that is. Naughty Dog tried unbearably hard to introduce "the other side of the story" to show that Joel had it coming for him. Was that "other side of the story" even remarkably moving or reasonable? Absolutely. Not. Why were we given so much time with Abby to understand who she is and her relationship with her friends and father yet not a single hour of it was enjoyable or justifiable? There were 100% zero sympathies I felt towards this girl. So not unless you give me a Last Of Us Part II dedicated to why we should care about this Abby girl or why her story even remotely convinces me that killing Joel in the way she did was okay, I'm going to say this is a case of a disastrous narrative and Abby is garbage excuse for an antagonist/main character.

    Con #3) I'm not even going to explain how horrendous the writing is in some of these side-characters. The number of plot holes that are accompanying them makes me want to throw up just as many times as Dina did. I will say that the story seems engaging when you are playing through Ellie's POV and there aren't any cutscenes to ruin it...
    The fact that I need to say that the best part of the game was playing through the museum flashback two years prior to the events of the main plotline with Ellie and Joel shows just how unenjoyable the game really was for me.

    Naughty Dog put so much effort into trying to show us that we were the true bad guys yet non of that effort had a single ounce of pay off. If you want us to fall in love with your new characters the same way we fell in love with the original ones, give us more time, please. Give us the depth and development that Joel and Ellie and Tommy have. One of the main reasons Abby even exists was that she was a perfect way to introduce the idea of gender fluidity, LGBTQ+, and independent femininity into a video game. But it just wasn't necessary. All-in-all my main gripe about this game is that some of the best writers in video game history have somehow messed up what was 7 years of anticipation and hype for one of the worst stories I have ever experienced.

    I will be giving this game a 3/10 sheerly out of pity for the incredible artists, sound designers, animators, and voice actors who put so much work in to hard carry the writers that developed this tragedy.
    So how can I put this lightly? If you have the money to purchase this game, put that money into something else, and walk away. And to those who have already played the game or have watched a playthrough, I am so sorry. You and I are gonna take a deep breath and pretend this didn't happen. Deal? Deal.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ich hab The Last of Us geliebt. War bzw. ist eines der besten Spiele wen nicht dass beste Spiel überhaupt für mich. Noch nie zuvor hatte ich in einer Geschichte so mitgefühlt.

    Der zweite Teil ist im Grunde gut gelungen, nicht sehr gut aber gut. Da aber viele Leute grundlos haten geb ich max Punkte.

    Im Grunde gut weil alles besser ist als im alten Spiel.
    Gameplay, Grafik, Zwischensequenzen, KI, usw.

    Worüber man sich streiten kann ist die Geschichte.
    Für mich persönlich ist sie nicht schlecht lässt aber seeeeehr viele Fragen offen.
    Ich sehe die Geschichte aus einem komplett anderen Aspekt wie die meisten Leute denk ich.
    Wen ihr euch für eine total anderen Sichtweiße interessiert die auch auf den Fakten des ersten Teils basieren lest weiter:

    Viele werfen dem Spiel vor irgendein Statement setzen zu wollen.
    Nun wen, welches Statement setzen sie was dass Spiel soo schlecht macht?

    Keines!

    Joel wird umgebracht weil sich irgendwelche egoistischen Ar********r sich in den Kopf gesetzt haben dass Joel schuld ist warum Sie keine Heilung bekommen haben bzw. schuld am Tod von Abby's Vater(Joel's Mörderin).
    Sie beleuchten die Geschehnisse aus der Sichtweiße dieser Menschen allen vor ran aus der Sichtweiße von Abby.
    Meiner Meinung nach ein Fehler da es sehr viel weniger Spaß macht eine Mörderin zu spielen die man hasst. Story technisch ist ihrer Backsidestory nicht sooo interessant wie die von Ellie und Joel aber sie ist auch nicht komplett schlecht.

    Die Sidestory von Abby war kein Statement im Sinne von seht euch mal die arme Abby an, es zeigt nur eine sehr kaputte egoistische Frau die durch ihren Egoismus fast alles verliert.

    Hätten die Fireflys und der Doktor sich im ersten Teil mit Joel und Ellie an einen Tisch gesetzt und alle Fakten offen gelegt hätte sich Ellie aus freien Stücken für die OP entscheiden können und Joel wäre vermutlich extrem traurig gewesen hätte sie aber mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit gehen lassen müssen.

    Dass haben sie aber nicht gemacht, sie haben Ellie gar nicht angehört und Joel vor vollendete Tatsachen gestellt um ihre persönlichen egoistischen Ziele zu verfolgen. Dadurch haben sie den Verteidiger Instinkt von Joel ausgelöst der natürlich wie soll es anders sein, seine persönlichen egoistischen Zielen verfolgt hat und Ellie gerettet hat. Jeder Mensch darf egoistisch sein, auch Joel.
    Er hat sich im Grunde nur gegen die Ungerechtigkeit verteidigt.

    Im zweiten Teil werden wir vor allem mit dem Hass und den egoistischen Wünschen einer fremden Person konfrontiert. Abby. Sie verkraftet nicht dass ihr Vater ein Ar*****h war und gibt jemand anderem dafür die Schuld.
    Sie löst die Rache Gedanken in Ellie aus und ist somit an fast allen Toten im gesamten Spielverlauf schuld. Ellie wird in meinen Augen nicht nur von Rache geleitet sondern auch von Verzweiflung, Trauer und Wut.
    Sie weiß nicht wie sie mit alle dem umgehen soll und denkt im ersten Augenblick wen sie die schuldige(n) tötet würde es ihr bessere gehen.
    Jedoch merkt sie im Verlauf des Spieles dass es ihr gar nicht um die Rache geht, sie ist nur unendlich traurig über den Verlust von Joel und erschreckt an ihren eignen Taten.
    Am Ende hat sie Joel, ihren besten Freund, ihre Freundin und ihre Heimat verloren.
    Sogar Gitarre spielen kann sie nicht mehr vollständig da sie zwei ihrer Finger verliert.
    Grundsätzlich würd ich sagen ist dass das keine Rache Story aus Sicht von Ellie ist.
    Es ist eine Rache Story aus Sicht von Abby.
    Ellie wird seelisch wie körperlich extrem schwer verletzt und verliert alles was sie im Leben hat.

    Im Grund weiß ich persönlich nicht worauf die Geschichte überhaupt hinaus laufen sollte?
    Eigentlich zeigt sie uns nur Verlust, Zerstörung und eine extrem ungerechte Welt.

    Im ersten teil hat man dem Spieler zwei geniale Charakter geschenkt.
    Im Zweiten Teil zerstört man die Charakter mit dem Vorschlaghammer und zerschreddert die Seelen sämtlicher Spieler.
    Ich bin in ein schwarzes Loch gefallen dass ich aktuell durch dass schreiben von Rezessionen und Youtube Kommentaren versuche zu füllen da mich diese extreme Traurigkeit vollkommen überwältigt hat.

    Dass Spiel ist nicht schlecht, die Story kann man so oder so sehen ich seh sie wie beschrieben.
    Ich find halt dass die Story kein Statement hat. Sie löst in mir nur Traurigkeit und Mitgefühl FÜR Ellie aus!

    Ich hoffe auf einen 3. Teil.
    Ich möchte wissen ob es Ellie schafft sich ein glückliches Leben aufzubauen.
    Daher seh ich nicht ein warum alle Leute das Spiel haten und mir die Chance auf eine Fortsetzung rauben. Ich bin einfach mal so frei und egoistisch wie Joel und sag euch haltet eure K***** wen ihr keine Konstruktive Kritik habt. Dann noch kurz an all diejenigen die sich fragen warum Ellie plötzlich lesbisch ist. Spielt den ersten Teil komplett mit DLC dann merkt ihr dass sie schon immer lesbisch war :P    … Expand

    I been playing it for the first 5 hours, and it’s as good as I expected. The story line connects very good with the first game.

    Im giving it a 5 for the devs who worked so hard to build such a beautiful game with amazing graphics but they sadly waisted their talent on a **** show.
    The soundtrack is awesome and the gameplay is close to the first game but its still good
    And the flashbacks feel more TLOU than the hole game

    THE STORY
    The story sucks, it doesn’t make sence, especially the ending, u are about to kill Abby (THE PERSON WHO KILLED JOEL INFRONT OF ELLIES EYES),but then you see a flashback of Joel, you think that would’ve motivated more Ellie to killl Abby? No. She letted her go. Reminder, She is the same person who cutted her 2 finger.
    This is a wtf moment
    And the credit scene makes me so sad, Ellie, ending up like that, AND TRYING TO PLAY THE GUITAR! Wtf
    THE CHARACTER DESGIN
    Ellie looks like a skinny white boy (with small muscles), Abby looks like Hulk and Dina has some small muscles.
    THE LGBTQ REPRESENTATION
    It feels like marketing/advertisement, not for the sake of the lgbt representation in the gaming industry
    THE FALSE ADVERTISEMENT
    How can you do that? And why? Why would you?
    The adds lie to you so hard and thats pretty bad by considering that you’ve waited 7 years for this game, and in the end, they are lies.

    GREAT GAMEPLAY, GREAT GRAPHICS. The game in itself will leave you thirsty for more and wanting to play over and over again. There is no good vs bad in this game, and you get to explore the moral grey area. Overall great and doesn’t deserve all the hate it gets!

    I wouldn't give a "1", except for the fact that they false advertised, and wasted my money. When there is a delta of 6 points between the critic score and the user score, that means they paid those critics. I was LIED TO and STOLEN from by Naughty Dog and Sony. How is this allowed?

    I’m so happy I didn’t buy this game. Yes, I’ve seen the gameplay and the graphics. They are top notch. But we didn’t buy this game for that. We bought it for the story. Story was ASS! Straight garbage. I couldn’t believe what I was watching. I’m very disappointed

    What can I say about this game? Well I thought it was a triumph like most of naughty dog games. The graphics are spectacular to look at and admire, the game play is s step up from the first and yes I really did enjoy the story. The new enemy's can now again be a little challenge but once you get use to their movements they can be figured out. In some situations you do.have to think whatWhat can I say about this game? In some situations you do.have to think what is the best approach to get through the area. Theres lots of hidden items to discover and new weapons to try. I have recently completed it, and yes I can see myself saying it again.

    For the negatives sometimes the areas are too big to explore just for supplies and now and again you get a little tires of searching every corner but it is essential to find bullets and crafting items to survive the game. In the stealth sections some of the enemies behave the same formula and feels like a repetition of the last encounter but it doesn't dampen the game play too much.

    There is one thing that I would like to say to reviews on here. Some.of them were posted minutes or hours after the games release to give it negative feedback. These are reviews from people who didnt really play much of a game or have never played the game and are just jumping the band wagon from social media. It's worth buying and adding to the collection of playstation exclusives. It deserves to be on the same shelf of horizon zero dawn, god.of war and spider-man. I think naughty dog have done an amazing job with this game do not believe what people from.the 19th of june are saying. It's not perfect but it is an amazing experience to play through and once it starts you do find yourself playing to the end.    … Expand

    Loved most everything about it, from the story, to the mechanics, to the pacing. Character design is the best I've ever seen on this gen. The world is beautiful and enjoyable to explore. I laughed, I cried, I screamed a few times.

    Gameplay follows the first one. Very fun and fluid. Graphics look great. Unfortunately, the writing/story and characters are bland and extremely forced. Huge forced decisions with inane outcomes.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going to completely ignore the people who review bombed due to LGBT characters because its not even worth getting into that. However, in terms of uncharacteristic acting and the betrayel of a main character, I can tell you right now that these people are feeling anger for two main reasons. 1. A character they have grown to love dies. This isn't a betrayal, this is great writing. If you get angry when someone is killed off in a game, then congrats to the developers. They managed to get you hooked enough to feel something. 2. Gamers these days are far too interested in being able to control decisions and make choices with consequences. But this isn't your character. These aren't your choices. You aren't part of the story, you're just witnessing it. And unfortunately that means you have to sit through the bad times and the good times.

    The gameplay is phenomenal and definitely one of the greatest games I've ever played. The beginning is slow burning and really gets you into the story. The loss of a main character early on really pushes the revenge aspect which last the whole game. Now, what Naughty Dog have done that similar games do not manage to achieve with revenge stories is give you the feeling of burden from both trying to get revenge and what you will lose by achieving it. Most games will try to make you see what the character is losing from themselves, or the people around them, or from the antagonists perspective. Naughty Dog achieves all three beautifully. And again, this is done with a slow burn to add to the story in a remarkable way. You start by experiencing a great loss which leads to anger and the need for revenge. Naughty Dog builds your attachment to new characters. They start by showing you how the amount of death and destruction is affecting Ellie mentally and breaking her, but her need for revenge is stronger, and this does not deter the player. You then see how Ellie's need for revenge becomes a burden and threatening to the new characters around her; Tommy, Dina and Jesse who are very quickly easily likable characters. This can deter the player and create a mixed feeling about wanting to continue and whether the revenge is worth it, you then see the damage done from the antagonist, Abby's perspective. How she has lost because of Ellie and Joel. This can almost make the player leave their revenge behind, but no Ellie. She has lost too much. The final nail in the coffin for the players guilt and empathy may be the fact the Abby allows Ellie to walk away, accept her losses and Abby will accept hers. But Ellie, even with a perfect life months later cannot accept this.

    Ellie drags the player along with her as the game goes on, and even with revenge weighing down on her and the player both, there is a distance created between them. And at the end of the game, Ellie makes a good decision, but for the player it comes too late, because she has lost everything and herself to achieve it. I think this is where a lot of players anger comes from. Ellie does what the player has wanted for almost the last half of the game, but due to her stubbornness she has lost everything because of it. Regardless, Ellie finished the game a good person, and is happy for that at least.

    The music and ambiance are incredible. The creepy and scary area have the perfect tone of music, and the way silence is used the in game is absolutely amazing. There's times when music is lowed and there's constant background noise to promote how fast paced and difficult things are. And silence is used so well to convey sadness, loss and a huge slowdown to the game allowing you to listen to dialogue and reflect on the heartbreak and sadness of what has just happened in the previous missions.

    This is not a full review, but just some things I feel needed to be outlined with the game. I genuinely feel the 0/10 reviews are totally unjustified and understand why some people may rate it as low as even 6/10. But for me this is a masterpiece. The sales figures speak for themselves and this is 100% one of the most emotionally effective and well written story driven games I have ever played. For me it is as good as the first, and I genuinely hope Ellies story is not yet over. 10/10. Perfect.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. No entendí ni la muerte de Joel, ni el personaje de Abby, que Tommy acabase tuerto y cojo pero... sobretodo... NO ENTENDÍ... QUE COÑO ERA LA VENGANZA DE ELLIE, eso no era venganza, la verdadera venganza era matar a Abby. Espere este videojuego 7 años... 7 años de mi vida con las expectativas super elevadas, el juego no me decepciono en sus aspectos técnicos como podría ser los gráficos pero la narrativa... para mi fue una basura. Ya yo esperaba la muerte de Joel pero no de esa manera, me explico, la hubiese soportado si hubiese matada a esa perra de Abby. People who expected a happy ending obviously have not been paying attention. I like how the ending gives light to the games title. “The last of us”, it isn’t referring to a wide spread notion, like the infected and the non infected. It is referring to the “last of us” meaning what is left of these characters, emotionally and physically. She doesn’t kill Abby because she realizes she has nothing to gain, the pain will still be there and the memory of Joel will haunt her. Killing her would make her the same as Abby. Revenge is a fools game. And in this situation, Ellie lost. Ellie at the end is alone (which was here biggest fear according to the first game), she lost Dina, she lost her fingers, and the ability to play the guitar. What’s left of her is minimal. It is a sad ending but the ending we got. In the big picture, TLOU 1 and 2, the ending doesn’t seem so blasphemous.… Expand

A lot of the people here are taking stuff massively out of context and clearly have little to no understanding of the characters, their motivations, and the complex development throughout. The story also doesn't necessarily hold your hand with the character's reasoning, it's largely up to you to put it all together and a lot of people don't have the patience to do that.

    The story is great, the gameplay is stellar, the graphics are wonderful, the music is perfect. There's so many memorable and emotional scenes.

    This game will go down as one of the best of all time. Again, an absolute masterpiece.    … Expand

    It felt like they mixed uncharted 4 with the last of us part 1. There are some great action setpieces which really helps break up the pace. There are parts where I felt like I was spending too much time stealthily taking down enemies and scavenging for supplies but before long I was outrunning clickers and or watching a cutscene.
    Loading times are quite short, there was hardly any pop in or framerate issues. The game ran really smoothly.
    The sound design in this game is from another world... it's unreal... sometimes I shot an enemy and they'd lie there screaming for help. Or I might cut someone's throat and then i'd hear them choking on their own blood... it was horrible but really helped create the sense that this world is brutal.

    Brutal is a word which defines this game. Some parts were hard to play through. I found myself shouting at my tv towards the end. Overall it's just an unforgettable experience and one which you shouldn't miss out on.

    also I hope metacritic goes through and trims out some of these troll reviews. Right now the user score is way too low. The game has been out for like four days and according to psn only 7.7% of players have finished it so many people here (many of them on the very day the game released) have given it a zero. I imagine a lot of this is down to bots as well. Just play the game yourself and you'll see it's something special :).    … Expand

    Apparently, Neil Druckman saw a video when he was younger where he saw a man get beaten. He got mad, disgusted and wanted to destroy the people that, he wanted REVENGE, after the first game he thought that he could make other people feel like that about Abby and then prove them that the bad one was you all along and that the revenge gets you nowhere.

    But what Neil didn't saw coming I guess is that most of the people did not care if we were bad or not, we just cared about the characters that we loved, so the ending sounds and look cheap when you only wants to kill her. Other like me just lost all interest after seeing Joel getting destroyed (I finished it but did not care about anything after that).

    The game and the message just do not work.

    But one of the biggest problems is that all the problems and questions set by the first game about the world, characters, city, sickness, the cure... Just got ignored. After playing the last of us 2 for 20h the world and stories and everything around didn't move. It's just some drama about some people and all the important question are just ignored.    … Expand

    Все те чувства, что проследовали меня на протяжение первой части, исчезли, испарились и остались в самых лучших воспоминаниях.
    Весь сюжет 2 части, размыт и в то же время предсказуем.
    Диалоги не наполнены эмоциональным смыслам. Главных героев беспощадно убивают, на протяжение всей игры. Меня безумно потряс момент Смерти Джоила, я сидел с пустотой внутри себя 1,5 часа попутно играя. А дальше происходит бессмыслица. Нас перебрасывает во времени, мы начинаем играть за главного антагониста(как нам кажется) но все с точностью наоборот.
    Из большого минуса, что Naughty Dog решили сделать, псевдо открытый мир, что сильно тормозит игру. Время тянется бесконечно и тебе уже не хочешь ничего, кроме как быстрее дойти до конца.
    А вот анимация собак меня порадовала, правда в процессе мы их жестоко убиваем, что к слову не часто, ровно так же мало вы убьете заряженных. Но встретитесь с главным «крысиным королём» одним из первых заразившиеся.
    Пол игры мы играем за повзрослевшую Элли, которая как мне кажется, не понимает, что вообще творит. А пол игры за Эбби, и главный вопрос,нахера? Это не придаёт ни какого шарма. Это очень скучно и вообще не хочется за неё играть. Так же ни слова о Серафитах(шрамов), что это за культ, откуда он взялся, что произошло. К слову об Элли и сюжет, ну вылитая Лара! В конце они даже одежду с неё будто взяли.
    По итогу.
    Мы получаем мрачную игру,с размытым сюжетом, с финалом который сделали на отвали. Как будто все сценаристы не смогли договориться и напихали всего да побольше, что бы угодить каждому. Стоит ли говорить о раскачанных женщинах и трансгендорах в игре. Не считая Элли лизбиянки?

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Took me around 24hrs from start to finish, I completely understand the divide surrounding this title. But let me explain my perspective, yeah the pacing is a bit off but considering what they've tried to accomplish here i don't see any other way of putting this together apart from how ND did it here, there's probably a way but that's for the future discussions I'd say. It's very hard at times to play as Abby after you see what happens to set off Ellie's trip to Seattle, but I believe this was better than having her just looming in notes or radio transmissions just to get to see her at the very end, or popping in and out without much of consequence to the overall story. I believe the whole package is a probably the heaviest to consume in this medium, I was torn apart time and time again, but I believe that's part of the point ND might be trying to show the player. I had to pause and sit back to think about some decisions that were made, but after doing some thinking I saw the point in all of it, maybe not the way it was intended but it worked out for me. It took me roughly 2 hours after finishing the game to digest the whole thing and decide where I was at for the whole thing as an experience. I believe this is a great game, great story with a lot of intricate ideas and as I mentioned pacing is a bit off so it can **** with you a bit at times. But looking back you can see that for some reason nor Abby nor Ellie really can go through with killing one another, they keep letting one another go, if my memory is not playing tricks on me they both let each other live twice thus far in the story. Ellie is haunted by memory of Joel, and it plays the biggest part at the end, I still not quite sure what it meant.. I know it wasn't forgiveness like a lot of people seem to claim shouting of their soap boxes. Another thing I noticed some coverage say that Joel and Ellie or one or the other is a Hero in a first title, to that I must say it seems like you've not finished the game or you're remembering it wrong, first title showed us that there's not a lot of good people in that universe, and sure as hell Joel, Ellie, Bill, Tommy or anyone else that is close to them is a Hero. That is what I loved so much about the first title, and I enjoy the fact that this was pushed even further in this title. This game will make you angry , sad, confused with lights of hope every now and again, it's a dark story, it's not for a faint of heart..
    This title in my believe is a stand out, I believe this is the game that people will discuss for many months if not years. I couldn't recommend this enough.    … Expand

    Totally unnecessary making us play with Abby through half of the game. I know she had reasons to kill Joel, but wtf Neil Druckmann thought? That we would like to play with her. The first time i played with her after Joel’s death I turned off my console. Why you want me to play with the girl that killed my favorite character in the whole novel. Neil Druckmann could explore other ways to end the story. I know it would be cliche to end by Ellie killing Joel after knowing the truth about the first game ending but even though it would be a better ending. What makes me pissed off is that we waited 7 years thinking the way Ellie would discover that Joel was lying about the fireflies, and how Naughty Dog did it? They just brought up in a flashback, giving the feeling that the whole TLOU ending was meaningless. Naughty Dog could explore the whole “Joel’s lie” thing so much better. About the end. I think that the way it ended showing Ellie leaving the farm, gives us a hint to think what will happen: Ellie will go after the remaining of the fireflies maybe to sacrifice herself for the cure since her life doesn’t have more meaning before Dina’s departure. Why they did it? To profit more with TLOU 3.

    About character development. What I really missed about the first game was the way I got emotionally closer till the point that I really start caring about the character like I did with Henry and Sam. The closer of that, that I got in this game was the relationship with Jess but even thought it didn´t feel the same like with the brothers.

    And for those that are trolling the ratings, bro it’s a **** zombie apocalypse the more stronger, better. What you guys did expect, a character looking like Lana Rhoades?

    Resuming, the game is beautiful, revolutionary but the story is dissapointing. My last complaint: any game industry should not do what Naughty Dog did by revealing a trailer that doesn´t have any thing to do with the actual story. I was expecting a game that would made me burst into tears but in the end i got a game that made me fill upset and disgusted with the way Druckmann disrespected Joel to focus on a non-captivating lesbian romance.

    Neil Druckmann gave us what we didn´t want, maybe that is why we are really dissapointed. To really understand the end you have to be open minded and try to understand it in a philosophical way and for me, I was expecting an end to the whole novel, not a question mark. The Last of Us didn´t worth the hype it received and maybe that´s Naughty Dog purpose, to surprise us by not giving us the story we wanted on a silver platter, that´s why I give it a seven.    … Expand

    I gave it a 1 only because the first part was a 10. This is a 1 point of pity. The “second part” destroyed one of the best games ever existed. Worthless story build on nothing at all. Delete and forget.

    The game is great! Not flawless, but neither was part 1. The story was good and thematically resonant. Most criticism about the plot are contesting the characters' decisions, while being abundantly justified by previous events.     Well... Just finished... What's wrong with people?? Giving zero and this kinda stuff for the game because the story is not what they want... Is just sad!!! I DID NOT LIKE FIGHTING Against Ellie... She my girl!! I lost a few times there. I think the opposite side in that part would be much better

    Quem lacra não lucra, o jogo ganhou uma avaliação boa dos jornalistas porque não podiam ser sinceros e ser massacrados pela história ruim, mas as notas dos usuários mostram quão ruim é a obra como um todo, e que gráficos e tempo não salvam uma história forçada.

Awesome gameplay, graphics and music, 10/10 on that department, the story tho, it is not that great, it is a basic story of revenge, Abby's side of the story is too long and it should not interrupt the flow of Ellie's story like that, it kills the pacing, plus Abby's story has a lot of filler, which make the game suffer. Plus, we can't fully like Abby, she killed Joel, so we will never like her, but at the end I agreed with Ellie's decision, but still playing like a character we do not care about is not fun. It does not deserve the hate it gets, but it surely does not deserve to be called a masterpiece, I give it a solid 7/10, there is worse things with better score, so it should not be that low.… Expand

    Honestly this game for me is a 9. The only reason I take a point off is because of the story to which I won't spoil. The only reason I gave it a 10 was because of all the day 1 trolling of 0's and 1's from people who've never played the game.

    O jogo se passa 4 anos após o primeiro, sendo continuação direta, nele vemos uma ellie mais adulta vivendo com Joel em Jackson, cidade a qual o jogador encontra no primeiro jogo, uma personagem chamada Abby mata Joel por vingança, Ellie mata todos os seus amigos e no final luta com Abby, no momento em que Ellie iria matar ela se lembra de Joel e vê em Abby um "Joel e Ellie" já que Abby estava cuidando de uma criança, acho que é por este final que deram notas baixas.
    O jogo possui ótimos gráficos, o melhor sound design que eu já vi em jogos, bons controles, uma ótima gameplay, na qual está é bem fluida, em resumo podemos dizer que este é um aperfeiçoamento do primeiro jogo    … Expand

    The game is honestly amazing. The story feels that of a show from HBO, and the characters are life-like.

    Don't let the controversy persuade you into thinking this game is anything other than amazing without playing it first! :)

The gameplay, voice acting, atmosphere/world, sound, soundtrack and graphics are fantastic. It’s what holds this game somewhat up. The real problem with this game is the story. TLOU 1 had an amazing story. It is what ND is known for. But this game falls flat. It’s like they forgot what they had created from the first one. I get what they were trying to do. In a world like this no one is truly good nor evil, many of the people we see from our side of the story as the bad guys are the same as us, humans who have done terrible things to survive. They’re “bad” people but technically so is Joel. They just executed it SO bad. The problem is not that they killed Joel, but the way they did it. 2 hours into the game and they kill a beloved main character to a person that we have no idea who is. Then they try to redeem it by showing Abby’s backstory in what feels like 10 minutes and then expects us to feel
    for her. Also Ellie has killed maybe 100s of bad guys, but those who killed Joel are the ones she feel bad about killing? Joel has been through so much **** and didn’t trust anybody, but trusted Abby enough to walk into a house full of her group and then using his real name, even though he KNOWS a lot of people hate him for what he did to the Fireflies? I really do see what ND were trying to do, but they did it in a horrible way.. And it hurts even more knowing you have waited 5 years for this sequel.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm not sure what everyone is so mad about? The story is emotionally charged. The game itself is beautiful. They make you feel the need for vengeance and then they wear you down so you just don't care about it anymore. The hate doesn't feel deserved.

    Do I think the game is a little long and the way they broke up the story right at the climax kind of takes you out of the momentum? For sure. But after finishing the whole thing it makes a lot more sense.

    The player and Ellie are both so focused on vengeance against Abby that when we are forced to play as Abby and see her struggles over the same 3 days and the way she gets wrapped up in the lives of Lev (love him) and Yara, you start off being annoyed. Why do I have to play as Abby? She killed Joel. I hate her. But then you're with her for so long and taken away from Ellie's story and her anger that you start to feel like, maybe it's not worth it anymore.

    The final fight scene between Ellie and Abby at the boats feels forced and stupid on Ellie's part. Abby doesn't want to fight anymore. Ellie's gotten her ass kicked every time she's tried to fight Abby. Abby has obviously suffered at the hands of Ellie and Tommy for what she's done plus extra from the Rattlers. By this point, it's over. Time to move on.

    And in the end, her vengeance has left Ellie dealing with her biggest fear. Being left alone.

    Also if you thought Joel was going to be alive through this whole game you're kind of a dummy. The way he went out was brutal and sucked a lot but what exactly would have been the point of this game without his death? Grow up, it's a good game.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
