    It's an awesome game. That being said, it also tries to be a piece of art in using different approaches to tell a story. Great art is always controversial so it's understandable that some people hate it for not re-telling the bubbly Father&daughter-bonding story again that was very easy to relate to. If you appreciate art because you're interested in of what the artist wants to tell you,It's an awesome game.     Not perfect but an amazing game. It is very obvious from a lot of these other reviews that the people have not actually played the game all the way through. I liked the small improvements in movement and interaction with objects making this easier and more smooth. The game itself is incredibly beautiful.     What stopped this from being a 10/10 was some parts felt too drawn out for an already long game. I had some minor bugs with character pathing that made certain interactions frustrating. Rarely happened but still worth mentioning.

    The big negative I have for this game is the story. I won't go into spoilers but, it really felt. Just off. The first game had a lot of character development and I became very attached to both Joel and Ellie as characters, wanting to see them survive. Where as here, I didn't get it. It felt VERY forced that I should feel a certain way about certain characters. While I do see what they were going for with how the game plays out. I just wish it stuck to mainly Joel and Ellies relationship and trimmed down some areas while expanding on others.    … Expand

The story as most of us know thanks to the leaks is terrible, them killing Joel may be one of the worst things I have ever had to sit through while playing a video game. The game play when talking about the stealth and combat areas are a huge disapointment. Some of the new characters introduced are terrible and uninteresting. And being forced to play as the character that killed Joel and to have the game try to make me feel sympathetic to them, made me want to turn the game off and go throw up. I could go on but i dont want this to be too long. So in conclusion dont buy this game, save your money for something worth it, and if you bought the game and hate it even a fraction of what i do, try and return it and get your money back.     I wasn't a huge fan of the first game like most were because although the story was amazing, the gameplay was lacking. The story was the only thing that kept me playing to the end but playing it wasn't actually fun or anything. With Part II somehow not only did they make the gameplay less fun, but they made the story noticeably bad to the point I have no incentive to keep playing it...     por ejemplo tomáramos la silueta de cualquiera de ellos, todos parecerían silueta de hombre genérico (incluyendo los personajes que presuntamente son mujeres).
    Lo peor del caso es que estos problemas se quedan cortos en comparación con la terrible y francamente vomitiva narrativa que el juego presenta. Desde el principio y durante todo el juego el guión resalta mucho pero por lo absurdo que es. Los personajes siempre están diciendo **** o ****ing en todos y cada una de sus escenas. Y no es que uno se espante de las groserías pero después de escucharlas tan excesivamente los se vuelven ridículos y muy "cringe". La historia principal sigue todos los ciches que se podrían esperar del genero, aderezada de manera muy obvia con un mensaje pollito ultra-izquierdista. Llegando inclusive a niveles que harían incomodar hasta al más neutral de los jugadores.
    En conclusión es más que evidente que Sony y/o ND compraron reseñas perfectas para cubrir el fiasco que es este intento de juego.    … Expand

    The gameplay is also very refined and feels like a perfected naughty dog formula.

    El juego respecto a escenarios, inmersión, jugabilidad es bueno pero nada fuera del otro mundo. Donde cae completamente es en su historia. Se entiende la inclusión, pero era necesario que fuera como lo mostraron (?) Además del cambio del cambio de actitud del personaje en tan poco tiempo. Sinceramente hubiera llevado otro nombre. No puedo creer que sea la secuela del primer juego.

    If we compare it with the first one, its a shame, a garbage. Its just the main stream trying to push an agenda into your throat. you ll find, homosexual relationship, abortion, gender, metaphor with the church, and all progressive stuff. I wait this game for many years, because the lovely story of ellie and joel, and they over it in the first hours of gameplay. Save your money.

It delves deep into dark themes of humanity and revenge, something I've never seen any video game do. Gameplay is addicting and music is immaculate. I believe this game tops its masterful predecessor in every way but also compliments it well.Extremelly bold, emotionally exhausting, impactful, exciting, and painful.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If anything, this game proves that you have to take reviews, both from the critics and the users, with a grain of salt.

    The game sounds and looks beautiful, albeit with a fairly low FPS for me, coming from the world of PC gaming.

    The gameplay is decent. I had some problems where the sway and the aim assist seemingly worked against each other, but that might just be because I'm not used to the controller, so I'm just pointing it out, and it didn't have an influence on my score.

    The game is very linear most of the time, which is a plus for me. The game mostly leads you to the next part in an intuitive way.

    I don't think I have ever seen this many custom settings for gameplay. While I never used them, it is a definite plus for people who need them.

    I personally didn't mind the so called "pandering" in the game. Of the new characters, I probably ended up sympathizing with Lev the most.

    What dragged this game down for me, however, was the structure and other choices in the narrative.
    I understand that there need to be consequences for Joel. I get WHY he died, but HOW it was done is just so incomprehensible to me. The cautious main character of the first game dies in the beginning by walking into a camp filled with people he doesn't know. Nah, I don't buy it.

    I also get why we get to "see" Abby's version of the events that unfold. But again, I don't agree with HOW we see it. I now have to play the character I'm meant to hate, through each scenario that lead up to friends dying, with intercut flashbacks which serve almost only to confuse me further. As I was searching the hotel for supplies, I almost quit the game, that's how much it dragged. At no point did I ever care about Abby. The only interesting thing about her storyline, was the introduction of Lev and his sister.

    There are two morals to the story:
    1) The whole "revenge = bad". Cliché, and done poorly. I hated how Ellie flip-flopped during the end, and I wish it had been done differently. Perhaps not had the last fight, and made Ellie realize it when she saw the state of Abby on the pillar.
    2) How no one is intrinsically evil. We see Abby's version of the event to make us realize that what is good and evil in this world, isn't as simple as it may seem. The fact that the guys at the end are so one dimensionally evil kind of defeats that purpose, but I liked the idea, hated the execution of it.

    In the end, it's not a terrible game. It does not in any way work as a sequel to the first one, and it has big problems in terms of structure. The best thing was the flashbacks with Joel, scattered through the narrative mess, and perhaps the conflict with the seraphites, and the character of Lev.
    I wish it hadn't been attached to the first game, because then I might have liked it more, and it wouldn't have tarnished the franchise.

    I struggle with whether to give it a 5 or a 6. If not for the vast amount of custom settings, I would have given it a 5.    … Expand

    Now that I've finished part 2 I'm still not sture if I got the end I wanted but I definitely got a great game.

    Graphics & Sound:
    The graphics are top notch. Various very real looking environments. Forests, old cities taken back by nature, river deltas, dark tunnels. All looking pretty great and very atmospheric.
    Definitely vividly beautiful as well as dark, super scary areas.
    Particles, lighting, weather effects are all great as well. Firefights and animations are up to date.
    Sounddesign was awesome as well. The soundtrack consists of a lot of sad guitar tunes, some contemporary tracks and general great ambient music. Sound effects all sounded real and full.

    Gameplay:
    Didn't change much from last game to be honest, just received a few little updates to the gunplay mechanics.
    You still run around looting, go through stealth passages that feel so real that you actually hold your breath and fight firefights that make you feel like a real action-hero.
    All in all super smooth gameplay that was hard enough to fail a couple of times and didn't go through lenghts that made me want to lay down the control and do something else.
    Naughty Dog implement a few less environmental riddles, which I think is a good choice, as finding ladders, plugging in cables and pushing creates aren't the most creative ways to spend time in video games. The riddles to open the safes were great though! I really enjoyed running around looking for clues to crack the codes.

    Story:
    First of all. Yeah, it sucks that the story didn't really deal with Ellie's immunity and what it means for her and humanity anymore. Somehow this was just dropped.
    The revenge plot felt a little lazy at the beginning, but living those couple of days of Ellies and her antagonists Abby's lifes made you understand their intentions really well. And it was really heartbreaking to see what this messed up worlds made the 2 young girls become.
    There is so much conflict in the story. Between people, between fractions, against the infected.
    While all the characters are portrayed and acted really well the dark, disgusting world is really the star of this story.
    To get a good feeling for how this world makes humans become the most messed up creatures was gutwrenching.
    Not only was this story of the world told through the cutscenes but also through little notes that you find in the world that tell great stories themselves. I spent so much time thoroughly searching through every environments to find clues about what happened here and there and the game always rewarded me for that by giving me scenaries where I was like: "oh my god that happend here when the apocalypse broke out"    … Expand

Su orientación sexual no debería de afectar en la historia y no lo hace, es más, siento que aporta más trama a esta entrega ya que esta Dina, que no solo es la novia y mejor amiga de Ellie desde años, sino también el que este embarazada es un problema para ambas y en la venganza de Ellie.     This is a game about love, hate, revenge and most importantly grief. It left me shell shocked and weeping in my bed at 5 in the morning.

    I started the game as one person and finished as a different one. My heart now bears wounds that I doubt will ever heal.

    As the fan of the 1st part, I can't accept the plot of this trash. Why should I play Abby? Why should I empathize her? Why couldn't I just killed her in the end. Just finished the game and i gotta say im really disapointed in the way Naughty Dog executed the narrative for this game, it felt lackluster, uniteresing, boring, and just streight up dissapointing, lets start with the first 2 hours of the game when they kill off Joel in a pathetic way by someone who wanted to avenge her fathers death, ok great, after that scene the game just became a drag for me i didnt see the point in continuing but like all the critics where saying just give a shot wait, continue to play until the end, ok i gave it the shot and still left unimpressed, the first half of the game playing as Ellie was fine the wasnt a problem but it was just redundant and boring narritavely you eventually find out Dina is pregnant and so on and so forth, then comes the 2nd half of the game and in my opinion this should been DLC or something on its own its just wasnt timed right in my opinon, having to play the 2nd half of the game as Abby was just a drag and uninteresting i didnt find my self caring for any of those characters that where introduced except Lev and his sister yara that when it sort of got interesting, but besides that the deaths of these new characters did nothing for me i didnt feel for them because i hardly knew anything about them, what was there to be connected to? and don't even get me started with the final section of the game, overall it was just a drag I understand what naughty dog was trying to go for but it was executed poorly narratively and should be done a different way in my opinion if you're a fan of the first game you will be disappointed with this story narratively.… Expand

    But each time i found the script wrong and wrong. joel did not deserve such a simple and brutal death.And also ellie's behavior has been shown very differently but still my favorite character is ellie. I officially hated abby I still think how he didn't die. I am so hateful to this end, I wish ellie was happy if only she was with dina. I'm so sorry for everything but the visuals were really amazing. and the only reason rate it high is visuals because it's a terrible end. Also, I do not want to say the name of the beloved screenwriter, I am very angry with him. To have sympathy and empathy for Abby, she had to exist since the first game, and when her father opposed the scalpel and joel had to protect herself and ellie. I’m trans myself and sometimes I boast how proud I am to be, but not once during this godforsaken game did they stop shoving propaganda down my mouth.     Remember in RDR2 how Chapter 6 ends? Arthur, weakened by his tuberculosis is beaten to death by Micah as the gang falls apart by Micah's doing. Very sad, and you want nothing more than to kill Micah as revenge. Imagine then that the epilogue starts up, and it looks like it might deliver on that. Then, ha ha F you, the epilogue is actually you playing as Micah, going back to Micah childhood, trying to get you to like Micah, then in the Ending you switch back to John, just to let Micah go without killing him.     El juego realmente me decepcionó, la verdad que lo siento como el mayor desperdicio de dinero
    La historia se siente muy forzada, el juego no logra ni si quiera alcanzar a su predecesor, y no mencionemos la inclusión que se mete en el juego, lo cual resulta muy molesto.

    It's not bots bombing this game, media are blind to real problem here. This game is divisive, they killed a beloved character for nothing only for excuses to put an agenda. I simply can't support this crap.

    The only ps4 game that made me googled how to refund psn game. And of course theres no way to do a refund on psn game. How dare you butchered a game like this naughty dog ?

    Este videojuego es algo grande en todos los aspectos, tecnicos, sonoros, jugable y la historia, naughty dog lo ha vuelto a hacer y ha sacado un juego para despedir la ps4 como se merece.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I did not play the Game, i watched the Playthrough.
    I really enjoyed the first one.
    I enjoyed this one.

    The "open world" is absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed the graphics, the cutscenes. That ellie plays guitar so well, seing her in a happy relationship with dina, and the story itself without chekcing on the pacing or the telling, just the story if it was just a novel was really good.

    I can understand the people, who are angry, but not to that extend:

    Every person is well build, the motives are clear and you understand why they're doing it. I could not care less what sex they prefer to be called at or what partner they like, every person has an absolute right to be there.

    To kill Joel was a good decision. Maybe not in the first hour, but he had to die for the stuff he did, as is explained multiple times in the game. it just makes the game more sad and realistic that he was just coming to good terms with ellie the day before he died.

    The time as Abby: i see what they wanted to do, but i didnt like it that much. I understood why she killed joel and as the lets player said, in her shoes you would have probably tracked that guy down aswell in an post apocalyptic setting where your dad could have saved the world. but I couldn't come to enjoy the time as abby. it it were a seperate game like a dlc, i would have liked it better.

    The ending wasn't good nor bad. i understand what they wanted to do, i would have liked a happy ending, but thats not the nature of this world and thats not what they wanted to tell you.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
