    I don't even want to call this a bad game nor disappointment, Devil may cry 2 was a bad game from the series i enjoyed so was No Man's Sky. But this? It's just pure disrespect. Honestly **** you Neil and **** your paid reviews. 9/10 my ass what a joke, if this game was standalone, i couldve gave 5/10 for the animation and memes but unfortunately it's a goddamn sequel.     ND had a good narrative where they left LOU1, they could have capatalized on that and maybe gone with a different approach, instead they used same old cliche formula of revenge.......what about the vaccine? What about ridding the world of zombies????

    Don't make up your mind before playing this game. The game is great-looking, the gameplay is vastly improved (and more enjoyable than TLOU 1 as a result), and the story is almost as good as the first one.
    As a person who does not like political agendas being pushed into videogames (who almost canceled his pre-order because of the 'rumors'), I can say that this game is not 'the ultimate    Don't make up your mind before playing this game. The game is great-looking, the gameplay is vastly improved (and more enjoyable than TLOU 1 as a result), and the story is almost as good as the first one.
    As a person who does not like political agendas being pushed into videogames (who almost canceled his pre-order because of the 'rumors'), I can say that this game is not 'the ultimate SJW game' or a 'golfing simulator'. The so-called agenda is only communicated through subtle ways (like notes that can be discovered in optional areas). References to 'social justice' are only made when they contribute to the story, and I did not notice anything odd about them.

    I will not spoil the story but I think it gets better as you progress further. The locations you visit throughout your journey are all expertly designed, and environmental storytelling plays a significant role in supporting the main themes. Just when you are sure you've beaten the game, the epilogue begins (with a play-time of about one and a half hours). The epilogue is also fantastic and it reminds me of Max Payne 3, which is another great game. I personally thought the ending was well-executed and would be upset if it was crafted in any other way.

    In short, you should not miss out on this experience. Even if you decide you don't like the story after finishing the game, the lowest realistic score you could give to this game is 7,5/10. The game does not deserve the 3.9 User Score it has now.    … Expand

    Terrible story takes away from all enjoyment of the game. Gameplay is better than first but the story and characters are poor. No multiplayer either. Don't buy and I wouldn't recommend watching on youtube either. Only pick this up when/if multiplayer ever drops.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The positive reviewers like to act like they are making good points when arguing why Joel was meant to die. No one disagrees Joel deserved to die, he was never established as a morally good character and he made a selfish decision which condemned the human race. No one is angry Joel died we are angry about how he died. My take on this would be much different if we were introduced to Abby long before she brutally murders Joel. They set them self up with an insurmountable task of creating empathy for Abby. And they didn't even try, we got a ten minute scene where she saves a Zebra with her father then they reveal Abby is the person who convinced them Ellie should be murdered to save humanity. If the writers are trying to make the player empathize with Abby why would they establish her as the one who condemned Ellie which inevitably led to Joel killing her father?

    Later on in the story we are introduced to Lev who saves Abbys life. This prompts Abby to betray the wolves to save Lev. This decision of Abbys feels like a fruitless attempt by the writers to establish Abby as a morally good character in order to gain empathy from the audience. They're trying to define Abby as selfless contrary to her making numerous selfish decisions. It's hard to say anything for certain about Abby's character because every other decision is conflicting. One moment she is selfless the next she is selfish. When it comes to condemning Ellie her morals are for the good of the many but when it comes to saving Lev her morals are for the good of the few. She gets very angry when she finds out Ellie has killed her friends yet she's already betrayed these friends and was prepared to leave these friends behind to help Lev.

    The story overall is nonsensical and revolves around and characters literally abandoning and losing everything in a fruitless quest for revenge. Both Abby and Ellie quite literally sacrificed everything over avenging the deaths of two people in a world where everyone has lost someone. Death and violence is around almost every corner of this world. Yet for whatever reason these two people are so special our characters travel thousands of miles killing hundreds to enact their revenge. Even after watching the bond which is formed between Joel and Ellie in the first game I have a hard time believing that Joel's death was enough to bring on this murderous rampage. Especially after Joel and Ellie’s rough relationship has been established.

    This world isn't the same world we were put into in the first game. There is no hope in this world, there is only violence and sadness. The violence is so over the top that by the end of the game I was completely numb to it all. The game heavily relies on shock value that was brought about through overly violent and grotesque actions perpetrated towards beloved characters which was so overly used it left me feeling nothing when the game came to it's final conclusion and this mattered the most. At no point were we given any sort of relief or loving character development which gave us respite from the sadness and violence of this world previously. In the first game Ellie provided 90% of this relief from the awful world we were witnessing. But she is now a shadow of her former self, despite spending her years safe and sheltered in a settlement with electricity she has completely lost the spark we saw in the first game. The conclusion of the game is hollow, hundreds die in this needless revenge plot and one singular person being saved who the player has established no empathy for is supposed to bring meaning to all the meaningless violence.    … Expand

    It would be an understatement to say this is a disappointment. The first game is hands down the best narrative driven video game I have ever played. IMO the first one was so loved because of the writing, characters, decision making was all perfect coupled with great atmosphere and good gameplay.     Lets get to the point:

    - Graphics 10/10 very immersive. For 7 years of work, great job.

    - Gameplay - 4/10 : its more repetetive than the first game for sure

    - Scenography - 8/10 very good detail and in gentle symbolism.

    - Bugs and glitches 3/10: rare but they do appear

    - Story telling- 5/10: All the scenes and dialoges got me some mixed feelings at the first time of viewing. The way TLOU II makes us feel while playing and viewing experience, is just somewhat cruel, but natural, and that's what makes it good, however the entire plot of the game felt empty after completion of the game story. I honestly felt pointless doing all of "this" at the second half of the game. It just asks for another sequel. The entire plot and story is just a wasted potential in my opinion. I think that taking a different approach to the game would make it better.

    - Animations: 10/10: they did a great motion capture on this i must tell

    - Humans/ interactions /emotions: 8/10: natural,/very rarly un-natural (soft-core porn isn't good enough for game industry)

    - Soundtrack: 10/10 true masterpiece

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is the best content thus far to come out of 2020 and is unlikely to be beaten by any music, film or tv show for the remainder of the year.

    Those that had a problem with game, I hear you. But I also understand that those people are few and far between, and all the comments (both positive and otherwise) to come out on June 19th should be taken down. This story is LONG and the play through takes at least 30 hours to complete. I played it almost non-stop since Thursday at 11pm ct and didn’t finish it until Sunday morning around 4am. So all those people talking about the game’s ending being terrible or playing as Abby being a waste of time (which doesn’t happen until around hour 15, are not giving this beautiful game an honest review.

    I get it, you don’t want to see your games changed. This game will not change others. And by the way, the story and graphics are VIOLENT. All those people who are comparing those that like this game are social justice warriors seem to forget that. In my opinion, the only “snowflakes” are those upset that Joel died. I was too, but that is what makes the game’s story so vivid and real. Do you really think every one in an apocalyptic world is going to live happily ever after? Now those people are the social justice warriors.

    The game’s music was incredible. The score was revised and the play-through contains both original and licensed music which adds to the story. And for those worried about Joel’s death, the player gets several long moments to play as Ellie alongside Joel afterward that are perfectly written and performed. So PLEASE give this game a chance.

    Honestly, this game could have easily been split into a full game and a DLC (which I believe was their original intention). However, I’m so glad they chose to release everything together. Naughty Dog / Sony, please take these negative reviews with a grain of salt and continue to and don’t be dissuaded from creating more within TLOU universe because of these “haters” that wrote their reviews beforehand. Thankfully, I was able to avoid spoilers before my play-through, and I do think this the ideal way to play the game. Please find out who that jerk who betrayed you all and fire them immediately.

    Sorry, this review is coming out as angry, but I honestly am angry that so many are taking to these online forums to trash this game. And YouTubers making videos on why this game is bad are saying things that prove they’ve never played through the game. For those that have a problem with Joel’s death, is get it. Even for those that don’t like playing as a girl or a trans person, I definitely don’t get it, but I understand your opinion. But all of you that haven’t given this game the chance it deserves before writing a review, the thousands of people that spend millions of hours making this beautiful looking game a reality should certainly not have to suffer for your ignorance.

    Thank you, Naughty Dog, for creating an amazing game to help all of us get through this difficult time. We don’t deserve it, but we appreciate it.    … Expand

When a game, that build its name on storytelling hires a 16y old kid from Tumblr to write a script, this is how it looks like. I wanted another great story with character development and constructed plot, I got 2 adult women acting like angry teenagers chasing each other for 25h. As you look at the game, it is strong, animations feel realistic and intense, but these great moments cant hide the fact that the second part had a lot more potential, sad they wasted it.
    Positives: Great visuals (the fact that it runs on PS4, incredible), game mechanics, various new settings, intense-looking and emotional scripted sections...

    It is something we've only seen in Red Dead Redemption 2. In most places even more beautiful. The woods, the snow, the lighting, the water, the high resolution textures and detailed models are a state of the art on this generation of console games. 10/10

    * Animations and Special Effects*
    Same as with graphics amazingly detailed body and facial animations. The take downs are very brutal thanks to the detailed skin and muscle rendering. Blood almost looks like the one you see in real life. The monsters have one of the most detailed animation that I've seen in games. They are just so well made. 10/10

    * Game Play *
    I played on the Hard difficulty and added maximum enemy difficulty to carefully fine tune my experience. I my self love stealth action and horror games. So this game is just um my alley. Most of the time in this game you find your self scavenging, looking for clues to open safes, crafting upgrades and modding weapons, reading letters, trying to get past or dispatch enemies in pretty brutal ways. My only problem with the game play was the lack of indication when I'm about to progress from one room into the other. This has cost me a couple of unopened safes in my play through. I hope these can be ironed out in future games. I liked that in some areas you needed to hold triangle to enter an area but you could also cancel it using the circle button, but this was unfortunately not an option in some of the earlier levels. 9/10

    * Controls *
    A little bit harder to aim in this game, compared to the first game. Here you need to watch how your character breaths or unlock a skill to learn to control it, in order to make deadly head shots. The PS4 controller is very nicely utilized in this game. The rumbling is just perfect and goes along with the audio. In return your characters are more agile, they can dodge attacks and do counter attacks. You can now jump up on many platforms and squeeze through narrow holes, which makes the game play even more intense in some situations, where the enemy is chasing the main protagonist. 10/10

    * Audio *
    While I'm not sure if the game supports 5.1 Surround Sound, because in the options I could only see home theater, TV and stereo headphones, the sounds were really well made. The gunshots and monster roars are terrifying. When you take down enemies you can hear them gurgle when they take their last breath. 10/10

    * AI *
    The AI seems a lot smarter than the old game, especially the human groups. They seem to know how to flush you out and their combat skills can really wear you down if not straight up beat you on the spot if you are not paying attention. I like how coordinated they are, how they try to circle in on the player and corner them. They utilize grenades, sniper rifles, melee weapons and sometimes even bring dog companions to sniff you out. 10/10

    * Story *
    Alright, I'm not going to lie, it's a mixed bag to say the least. Some decisions made by the characters from the previous game doesn't make much sense in the first couple of hours. It needs some explanations, that you only get later in the game and you have to have a very good memory to remember these in detail to put everything together. The one time when Joel and Tommy follow Abby into a hide out without questioning the trustworthiness of the lady who they just met. As far as I remember Joel wasn't trusting outsiders in the first game. The story presents the same story, but shows the action and its effects on both sides. Characters that we kill as Ellie, will show up in Abby's story as close friends. The game shows the similarity of both Ellie and Abby and the environment where they lived. It made you question all the time, why these two are trying to kill each other? The ending was kind of satisfying to me, because it showed that the game is not just all about a revenge plot. There's forgiveness. Ellie forgives Joel for lying to her and she does the same to save her self from killing Abby (who in the end also found someone to care for). In the final scene Ellie realizes what it cost for her to satisfy her craving for revenge when she basically looses everything (her family, close friends and the ability to play songs). It's a bitter sweet ending, but a fair one. 7/10

    All in all the game would be a 9.2 if MetaCritic would allow it. I can definitely suggest anyone who likes survivor horror game with mature stories to pick it up. You just can't go wrong with the Last of Us Part II.    … Expand

    A truly brave game that will revolutionize not only the way you make video games, but also the way to deepen the characters and create the stories. The writing is impeccable, the plot twists unpredictable and breathtaking. It's not a game for overly sensitive people and I understand why many can't stand it, but there are quieter games that they can play if they can't handle violence and realism

    The game was great, they improved the gamplay since the first game, the graphics are amazing, and the story, christ the story is waaaay better, muhc more richier then the first one. You have to accept that the first game was about the journey and the bond between joel and ellie. And this game its not about that. Thats not gonna happen again, they already did that. This game is about revange, trauma and consequences. And it shows how bad revange is, and that absolutly nothing good comes out of it. And through a lot of pain and hardship ellie was able to learn that, while having to deal with the feeling of not properly forgiving Joel. great twist in the game to show us the other side of the story, telling us that the "bad guys" are not that bad, and that the "good guys" are not that good. everyone its going through someting. I'm not givin this game a 10 for two reasons. 1st - the insane amount of notes... they were ok, but annoyed the **** out of me to find a lot of them., and 2nd, i didn like abby, she brutally killed Joel, for her own belief of what as right and thats "ok", but still... she killed Joel. and also, the moment we begin playin as her is a important moment on the plot of the game, and i was like "what the **** i want to know what happens" so i kinda "rushed" through her chapters just to get to the climax moment. Also, i wanted the game to have ended there, after theyre fight, when abby shows mercy on ellie, thus ending the revenge cicle. The whole santa barbara thing felt a little out of place, and the final showdown on the beach reminded me of the final fight in death stranding.. two people punching each other in the water hahaha.
    But in the end, it was great, i felt really sad for ellie, cause the most important thing that joel teached her, the thing that briefly restored theyr bond in the four yeats in between, she lost it.    … Expand

The game itself is gorgeous, and gameplay has been slightly improved over the first game. All the idiots claiming haters hate their favorite game because of the gay representation don't seem to understand that their favorite game can still **** suck. The whole point of playing a video game is to have fun and experience emotion. When the ONLY emotions I feel are hate and sadness, you **** up. Critics claiming that you feel a rush of emotions every step of the way mean that every hour you play you get filled with more hate and rage. The game has decent storytelling until a character you met literally **** 10 minutes ago bashes in the head of your favorite character with a gold club. I feel Joel needed to die in this game and feel the consequences of what he did in the first game, but to make a useless ass npc who has one line of dialogue in the first game this super important guy who just so happens to have a daughter that joins the apocalypse version of the mafia is really lame and lazy writing. Naughty dog could have done so many different things with Joel's death, but they chose to kill him like a SIDE CHARACTER. He dies in the first goddamn HOUR. Don't even get me started about the pacing. Ellie goes on a basic ass revenge plot story where she kills all of Abby's friends, and I mean ALL of them. You then play as Abby for a whole ass 16 hours or so, a character you just met and only feel hatred towards, and it makes the player want to stop playing immediately. I had a good time sitting and **** around for a good half an hour just throwing Abby off a cliff. If I have more fun doing that than playing the actual game we have some serious problems. We then see all of these characters who we JUST killed get character development when playing as Abby. I don't give a **** either way as they are already dead and giving them character development now is pointless and a waste of time. The game constantly tries to make the player feel like an **** when what happens is forced and can't be controlled. Like, a dog will roll up on you and your forced to kill it, no matter what. The owner then comes back and starts sobbing at the sight of his dead dog and it makes you feel bad. FOR WHAT? I didn't want to kill the dog, but the game forced me to and then made ME feel like the **** It constantly nags at the player about what the story is forcing me to do, and I have no control over any outcome. The only feeling of satisfaction I had when playing is when Ellie put that **** Abby's head in the water, only to LET HER GOOOOO. WHAT. Abby tortured and bashed in the head of Ellie's FATHER FIGURE, and she lets her go. Lazy ass writing and a lame way to set up a third game. Ellie lost everything, INCLUDING HER ABILITY TO PLAY THE GUITAR. The only thing she has left of Joel is that guitar, and she can't play it anymore because Abby was hungry during their fight and bit off her fingers. Joel would have killed Abby in a heartbeat if the roles were reversed, so don't tell me JoEl WoUlDn'T wAnT hEr To dO tHaT, because HE WOULD. I also felt Joel was out of character in this game, as he literally walked into a room with one exit with like 7 armed strangers, then told them his name. Tommy also told ARMED STRANGERS where they LIVE. IN A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. The only redeeming quality story-wise is the flashbacks with Ellie and Joel. Those parts made me feel true emotion. I get that some people enjoy the game, and that's fine, but you don't have to lie and say the story and characters were on par with god himself.

Besides that the story was amazing. I honestly think that people aren't taking the story for what it is, and they're just getting worked up over a character's death. Yes, it sucks. But that's what makes a good story. Plus it seems they're judging Abby's character before they even get to her story. Yes, you heard that right, she DOES get backstory, you DO get to understand why she killed someone. Yes some characters aren't fleshed out too much, but you won't get to know them for too long anyway. The characters that stick around, and that matter? Grow in so many different and subtle ways that you truly have to think while you play to understand what's going on. ND I applaud your story writing skills.     Ok so let me start by saying that this game is a masterpiece in many things but still deserves the low score of 2. Why is that you might ask? Why is that you might ask? Well I will try to provide a metaphor for my problems with this game. Imagine, if you will, the most beautiful cake you have ever seen, imagine a piece of it on your plate and imagine the perfect taste that it will leave in your mouth when you eat it. Now deal with the reality that you will only get one spoonful of that cake and the rest of the cake will be replaced by trash picked up on the side of the road. If you would have to rate the perfect cake, it will be a 10, but the whole experience was kinda dreadful, therefore a 2.

    So how did that happen? Well the graphics in this game are amazing, the atmosphere of walking through the world is breathtaking. The character animation is spot on, and there is even a scene where one of the characters removes a shirt over her head, perfectly without any clipping and perfect animation! This is insane! The music is just perfect and the sound design, from weapons to zombies to everything is truly great. Well what is the problem then? Easy: You are forced to play more than 50% of the playtime as one of the most unlikable antagonists I ever had to deal with. Bad writing in video games happens a lot, and I have learned to deal with it, but never have I been made to suffer through a bad story on the wrong side of the story. It is like getting bad with bad, and it is so bad, that at some point I just started running through the encounters because I wanted to be done with them. And this has nothing to do with Transgender or whatever. I couldn't care less about the Gender or lack thereof of any of the characters, I am talking about PERSONALITY here. I get what Naughty Dog was aiming for, trying to make me understand, trying to get my to sympathize, showing a different side to the story. But if the story is fairly one dimensional to begin with, it really doesn't help to force me to play it from a viewpoint that is so unlikable that I consider it a platinum trophy to just having finished the game.

    So with that in mind, I cannot bring myself to give any better score than 2.    … Expand

    I just finished the game this morning. If I were blind to everything Naughty Dog as a company has done up untill this point and solely focused on The Last of Us 2 (TLOU2) game, I’d give the game a 6/10.

    [POSITIVE] It’s an okay game. Excellent ground-breaking in-game UI customization, modifications, and difficulty settings. Excellent beautiful environments, great graphics, and slightly better controls than the previous game (wish they would have done more with stealth options, but). And the flashback scenes are by far the absolute best part of the game! And if I’m being honest, I’d prefer if the entire TLOU2 was just those flashbacks.

    [NEGATIVE] The story and characters. TLOU2 tries way too hard to be art, so much so, that it sacrifices the elements of morality for it. It tries numerous times to disturb you without ever earning it. Characters a badly built, poorly written and fleshed-out, and most of the time are out of character (e.g., Joel). Ellie and Dina’s dialogue interactions are poorly constructed, often leading to their “love” scenes feeling unbelievable, fake, and forced. The game uses cheap, artificial, manipulative story mechanics, instead of intelligent or thoughtful characterization to garner sympathy for the character of Abby despite her being the textbook literal definition of a mass-murdering sociopath (she doesn’t/can’t feel sympathy or regret, she doesn’t have morals, and she doesn’t have or can maintain loyalty). Finally, the sex scene looks like it was made by someone who has never had sex before or who has never had consensual sex in their life (you know, forget things like foreplay, condoms, or lube. Just bite the pillow and ram that sucker in dry). Never mind the fact that Neil Druckmann inserted himself in the game for self-gravitas.

    I said I would have given this game a 6/10. However, Naughty Dog has recently done the following:
    1) Mislead TLOU fans by swapping out models and stories in the trailers for the current in-game models and story.
    2) Mass unwarranted/illegal DMCA take-downs by Muso Unlimited on all media platforms for any person who so much as even dares mention the game allowed before it was released.
    3) Bribing critics for 5-star overly positive review bombings before the game was released (FYI the Xbox and PlayStation store had 5k 5-star “user” ratings before the game was released when it wasn’t possible to do so as a player).
    4) Blackmailing and blacklisting social media companies and media personalities for any unfavorable or negative reviews.
    5) Naughty Dog forcing stores to disallowing cancellations of TLOU2 pre-orders.
    6) Naughty Dog forcing stores to not allowing gamers to return or trade-in TLOU2 game.
    7) Naughty Dog politicizing TLOU2 and pushing specific agendas and pandering to SJW’s.
    8) Sony being outright hypocritical on their censorship standards and what they consider to be X-rated content (FYI – Japanese games that show even slight cleavage or butt crack must have a lens flare or blur, but the sex scene in TLOU2 is 100% okay).
    9) The slough of double-standards.
    10) Publicly ganging-up on and bullying anyone who disagrees with Naughty Dog and TLOU2 and who doesn’t give the game a positive glowing review.
    11) Lastly, using all the same derogatory and defamatory PR tactics that were used for previous media like The Last Jedi.     The game is not perfect in any shape or form the best thing is the graphics i didn't like the shooting mechanics or the Abby story it was just a waste they should have focused on Ellie story that i like more even if a lot of people didn't like the ending it was okay for me so i had no issue with it.

Okay SO verdict on the last of us part II, firstly I'm gonna give it a 8.5/10,,,originally it was even going to be a 10/10 because loved the first part of it so much but the whole gameplay with Abby I just felt went on too long, I found myself getting through it not out of genuine interest but more because I just wanted to get back to playing Ellie. In my personal view, the writing isn't as bad as people say, I just felt like the timing was off with Joel’s death, it wasn't the fact that it was done but more when they chose to do it, it felt too soon and I wish we were given more time, if I had it my way we would have a bigger gameplay at the start with Joel and Ellie, then the main storyline with Ellie and have Abby's part be a smaller one because...that part just didn't work for me. I found myself not enjoying it as much or getting excited, all I wanted to do was get back to Ellie, which might be me being biased because ellie is one of my all time favourite characters.

    I do think people are being way too harsh on this game just because it wasn't what everyone expected, in my opinion too much was put on the shoulders of this sequel and everyone expected it to be incredibly perfect but the way I see it, in the world you're playing in all bets are off.

    The ending,,,I understand why people were pissed, for me it felt too backwards. Ellie gets into a brutal fight with Abby; Abby leaves then over a year has past and Ellie leaves Dina and JJ behind to find her again only to then let her go? I understand the sentiment of Ellie learning that everything she had done in Joel’s “honour” didn’t help her and killing Abby wouldn’t bring him back like,,,I understand that but shouldn’t that have happened in the first big fight and then just end it with her getting closure on the farm with Dina?

    The ending has been left kind of opened yet again, which I do appreciate because then it can be left to interruption as to what happens, personally I think Ellie goes back to Jackson to find Dina (let’s face it is where she’s gonna go she wants safety for JJ) and gets forgiveness and her family back,,,I don’t know if I want a full part 3 bc it scares me what they could do lmao BUT a DLC (or a graphic novel) of Ellie and Dina making up??? Yes please I would love that.

    Anyways I really did love this game 90% of the time with Ellie and Dina, who was a brilliant character that brought a lot of light to the plot and Ellie herself...of course there are elements I wish would have done differently but overall I found it a great follow up, it’s just a shame of some of the choices made in the rounding up part. I hope that something is made in the future to maybe level it out, still I’ll say all the Ellie parts were a 10/10 for me.

I tend to be an optimist, but I can't disagree that these sorts of events, factions and emotions would arise in a post apocalyptic style world. You may not like it, or agree with it, but you can't deny that this type of tension between surviving humans could happen and that the toll that takes on our beloved characters could change them in ways we may struggle with looking from the outside in. Coming online to bash a game that so many people dedicated 100s of hours of their lives to because within your first few hours with the game you didn't like some of the narrative choices or character developments just blows my mind and seems so shallow and immature.

    The game immediately drew me back into that hostile world from nearly a decade ago and I genuinely wanted to explore every inch of the environments that the team brought to life. Every detail of each scene, room, building, etc. was thoroughly thought through and you can tell that everyone involved soaked their hearts into designing a world that is believable.

    Yes the game is dark at times, and tough to get through, but that's how you know it's compelling. If a game can make you squirm, tense up, cry, laugh and literally just stare in amazement, it's a testament to a well written and designed game that draws you in emotionally as a player. Each cut scene had my full attention and even though some of the tougher moments were difficult to play or watch, I knew I had to see the story to the end. And to all the critics slamming the team for building SJW themes into a game, get over it, it's 2020. I even dislike having to put the term 'SJW' into my review because if having strong female characters and LBGTQ sexual orientations or gender identities in a video game is considered "social justice" we have a much bigger problem in our contemporary world even without an apocalyptic event occurring.

    To Halley and Neil and the rest of the Naughty Dog crew, please know that the a vast majority of the LoU audience is more mature than this and a lot of us can take the emotional toll that the game places on us to be rewarded with something that's unique, thought provoking and immersive. We can understand how tough some of these decisions must have been to make, but also can understand why they were done. Please don't ever shy away from telling the compelling stories you want to, or building the characters that you feel are appropriate regardless of what the masses want - that's ultimately what will continue to allow the gaming world to evolve. It's what made us fall in love with TLoU Part I and it's what has made me love Part II. Thank you for the incredible effort put into this story and game.    … Expand

    I'm not sure why many are freaking out. 1, the death. This was completely expected and has been leading up to it since the first game.

    2, there's no "agenda" cause LGBT characters simply exist. It is not "forced"

    3, the sound design and gaming experience as a whole is simply amazing
