    Story misses the mark, the game drags on with poor characters and uninteresting story to end in a lackluster climax.
    On a positive note the game keeps the same feel of extreme violence with great graphics, but these alone can’t make this game what the the first one was. Do not buy, wait until free or drastically discounted.

    It is amazing how Naughty Dog can ruin their game by their own hands.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 对于我来说，双关语标题：The Last of Us 的Us代表的就是乔尔和艾莉。当乔尔在序章里被杀掉的瞬间TLOU系列对我来讲就已经结束了。
    TLOU从本质上来讲是剧情驱动的游戏，所有的系统以及画面都是为了剧情的推动以及感情的烘托而服务，所以对于整部剧情都无法喜欢的我来说，最理性的打分也就只是5分，但对于将自身感情投入到乔尔和艾莉的我，还有一众媒体给出的可笑满分，我只能打0分来进行一下平衡（不要说我是云玩家，我是预购并且玩完了整部游戏）。
    从我自己的游玩感受来讲，TLOU 1代所有的前段剧情以及中后期控制艾莉的剧情，都为最后乔尔做出就算放弃世界的未来也要拯救艾莉的决定做出了完美的铺垫，在游戏的最后阶段玩家的意志和乔尔的意志达到了高度的统一。同时也奠定下了玩家与乔尔和艾莉深厚的感情牵绊。
    但在2代里面，整个游玩过程中我只感觉到了别扭，分裂，我完全无法代入角色，就只是麻木的在显示屏前推动游戏剧情前进的工具人。
    如果说1代完美的将玩家带入到了整个故事之中，那么2代也完美的将玩家分离到了故事之外。更别谈2代在一开始就用高尔夫球棒毁掉了1代中玩家建立的感情。
    在这谈谈Neil Druckmann说的玩过1代的玩家不会喜欢2代的言论，在这句话中我了解到一个可能性，他并不是1代的玩家，因为我觉得没有任何主创人员会把自己不喜欢的作品发布到市场上。这里我想到了岩田聪说过的“在我的名片上写着，我是一个公司的总裁。在我自己来看，我是一个游戏开发者。在内心深处，我实际上是一个玩家”我终于了解到了为什么任天堂总是能够创造出玩家喜爱的游戏，而其他游戏制作公司可能偶尔会有佳作但很少能够持续的原因了。
    最后谈谈对于媒体评分的看法，如果不将感情因素考虑在内（如果考虑玩家对乔尔的感情因素，我觉得再理智也只能打满分10分的5分）日本iGN的7分我觉得是最客观公正的，大家有空可以去看看全文。    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Anyone who was a fan of the original game for the balance between story, puzzles, and fighting.. prepare to be disappointed. The only character that is interesting is gone and you are forced to play as the villain of the story without a choice. They try to make you feel empathy but it only made me not want to play the game more than I already didn't. The game's unlikeable characters, morose Ellie, and lack of Joel gives no good elements to the game. The graphics are good. yea.. and? The gameplay has barely been tweaked and the way the story is jack **** I had to force myself to play through with Abby, and even then I was hoping to watch her friends die at some point. This game tries to make you feel bad for the enemy and fails horribly. If anything this has only shown me that naughty dog has gone the way of EA and Bethesda, selling out for a good dollar.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The graphics are the best there are but that's it. The gameplay feels clunky just like the first one. It's almost no different than the first one, barely any improvement in this section. Soundtrack is on par just like the predecessor and the acting is good but the dialogue feels forced. And the elephant in the room, the story. From the first two hours we see a shift in Ellie, Joel and Tommy, as if they are not the same characters that were before. Having Joel die so early on and with such meaningless is very disrespectful to the character and it does nothing else than to shock the audience. Then forcing to play as Abby. That character feels forced into the story, trying to empathise with her but all it does is taking away the interest of the player in going forward into the story. Lastly the ending. We are forced to go on a path of revenge as Ellie for almost 25 hours only to kill everyone that had less to do with Joel's death but the story leaves the killer get away with the murder and leave the main protagonist with nothing. The story doesn't satisfy the players at all and all it does is leaving us betrayed and disappointed for struggling to rech the end of the tale. For a story driven game it fails in comparison with the first The Last of Us and if the story doesn't clicks, then it's hard to enjoy it especially that the gameplay is outdated.… Expand

    The second part of the game, you play with a new character that nobody cares, or, if somebody does, probably hate it, for about 8 to 10 hours.

    Finally, the history makes no sense, it feels like a joke, specially the ending.

    The gameplay is outdated, but nobody cares about that, we know why we are here, we want a good story, this is not one.

    I will give it a 1 score, and that 1 is the only positive thing I can see in this game, graphics, audio and accessibility, very good job made by people CRUNCHING god knows how much.

    Hi, I want to start off this review by saying that the first game is one of my favorite games ever made, it was beautiful. With some of the most compelling characters I had ever seen. And after finishing this game, sadly. It doesn’t fall through on the incredible ending the first game had. With poor writing, development of characters, and useless shock value. This game doesn’t share any of the emotion the first game had.

    I’m not sure if they did it out of spite? Creatively drained? Trying to make a political statement? Maybe something went wrong in development? I’m not sure. But sadly, I hope that they don’t touch this franchise again and leave it alone.    … Expand

    Likes:
    - The Graphics are amazing like we all new they would be.
    - The voice and Audio in the game is also amazing
    - animations are some of the best I've seen in recent years
    Cons
    - They story leaves a lot to be desired ( I'll give more detail below)
    - Game play is the same from 2013 with a few tweaks here and there
    - For a story game it's extremely linear in how you play the story with no option of differentiation
    - Most Characters are dull and uninteresting i.e ( Abby, Lev, jesse, dina, owen, mel)
    - Game seems to force a lot of progressiveness all at once to the player
    - I had no urge to ever want to replay this game or even watch this game again.
    - Character development is almost non existent

    Summary: I don't want to sound like I'm ranting but this game was really awful to play and I don't say that because a MC died that I liked. I say that because the Story isn't fluid and jumps around to much between the characters Abby and Ellie. Furthermore the plot of this story is one of revenge which is fine if executed correctly. Unfortunately this story is not one of them, as your forced to play as a character that you, the player want to get revenge against. Then your forced feed flash backs of their life so that you can pity them which at this point is impossible because of who they killed just mins prior to playing them. Then when you switch back to the character you want to play as and start hunting down abby, they suddenly have a change of heart while killing them. Which leads to abby leaving and escaping victorious in her mission of revenge.

    ND tried to be to complex and to progress with this story which I think bit them in the ass because the writing did not live up to anything. It left me as a player in a state of why did I spend money on this.    … Expand

    Such a politic and tolerant **** is getting me so nervous and so annoying! I hope I really hope that that kind of activities will end soon.

    I hope one day game creators all over the world will realise that "GAMES IS FOR THE GAMERS"

    Bad story telling, and in a linear game, THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT, IS A GOOD STORY! save your money and watch the cut scenes on Youtube or Pornhub, because you'd get **** by buying it. (if you REALLY want a good revenge plot, watch just about any western film, its better).

There's not way he (and probably even Tommy) would have allowed themselves to waltz into a room full of strangers and not even be armed????? Then we're forced to play as a woman none of us relate to all in an attempt to prove that revenge is wrong? Abby is only ever stopped from killing people because some weenie tells her to. Not to mention that we have to fight Ellie at the end and she's programmed like a dunce when the first game clearly portrayed her as a girl very capable in combat, there were so many opportunities where Ellie could have killed Abby but nooooo muh plot. There's a reason no other company has pushed games that make you play as the villain, it doesn't work. The game is gorgeous and the game-play is alright but the story is hot garbage.… Expand

Убивают еще одного близкого компаньона. Зачем так делать? Механики и геймплейные моменты ничего нового не принесли. Никаких красивых видов нет (Я видел пейзажи в разы лучше в играх 2005-2015 годов). И как же бесит это бесконечное ЛГБТ и феминизм. В игре доминирующая масса нпс и персонажей - женщины. Главную героиню сделали лесбиянкой и подают это в агрессивной пропаганде. Это выглядит ужасно и мне очень не приятно наблюдать за подобным. Можно было вполне обоснованно свести в линии Элли с Томми - они могли мстить вместе, была бы какая-никакая атмосфера первой части - два компаньона с вполне понятной связью, но нет - нужно ввести ЛГБТ персонажа, с которым абсолютно ничего разумного нет. Я уже ощущаю, что происходит ущемление "базовой" ориентации в играх и фильмах - хочется видеть эту привычную нормальность, а нам все толкают эти "меньшинства", которые уже реально достали. Это к вопросу о сюжете. Прокачка в игре тоже хромает - оружие качается по одной линии, навыки качаются линейно и без одного ты не откроешь другого - даже если тебе даром не сдался навык, ты будешь его качать, чтобы получить чертовы +20% ко здоровью. Искусственный интеллект ужасен - компаньона не видят зомби, если мертвец агрился на тебя, а союзник стоит рядом с ним, зомби бежит на тебя, а товарища не тронет. Союзник попадает примерно в 20% случаев, явно учился у имперских штурмовиков. И это в условиях апокалипсиса и дефицита ресурсов, патронов. Ага. Игра мне не понравилась и я не рекомендую никому тратить на нее время и деньги. Лучше переиграть в первую часть. Один балл за симулятор гитары в начале игры, это было прикольно.… Expand

    But in the middle of the game, where interesting plot twist (no spoilers!) is happening, and you are supposed to get very strong feelings of your previous actions - you feel nothing. You can not feel anything, because those were not your actions, those actions of game developers and you have mouth full of vomit because of those actions.
    And then the finale comes. At this moment your mouth is literally 1 second to explode. You have no other feelings except this torture to end. And game developers remove duct tape They explain you motivations of main heroes, their feelings, their metamorphosis, what they become. And you feel catarsys, you scream, but not because you emphathize to heroes. You scream because you finally free your mouth of this 25-30 hours of vomit.
    The story is great. Not original, but still great. And if it is told during 5 minutes it can even make your eyes wet. The graphics, landscapes, environment, music - all of this is fantastic.
    But with all those physically and mentally disgusting characters; illogical actions; forcefully shoved SJW content; not a single chance for player to make his own decision - all of those make make players to remember only taste of vomit in their mouths.    … Expand

On this game, they gracefully went to a bunch of stranger and gave their name and yes instant revenge from the antagonist. 2. collecting trading cards (dr. ockman) and disregarding the PSvita? why because she have a ps3? Not a satisfying revenge from my other fav character. Controlling the antagonist making you feel she's a protagonist she's got her revenge in 2hrs of playing. If you never played the part 1, I think you might like it. Amazing graphics, amazing scenery and the music is so good. To be honest seeing this as a game of the year makes me edit my score to 1.     The story gave absolutely no justice to the character development of the first game, the choices and actions made did not make any sense to what they were built up to be.     Through all game inadequate or unexplained actions of heroes, for example - from the very beginning the WLF squad is looking for Joel for revenge? in the first part, he killed everyone to save Ellie and they look for him for revenge, just to kill him and not to get Ellie back and continue vaccine experiments -? this is the creative impotence of Druckmann as a screenwriter, this plot is the level of kindergarten and not the ingenious plot, FULL Inadequacy! if they went for revenge and didn’t kill Ellie and Tommy right away, why didn’t they say something like “don’t get into it” and didn’t tell why Joel got clubbed, so since they decided not to kill Tommy and Ellie, somehow it doesn’t converge for the soulless killers who had to kill everyone, and since they didn’t kill, they had some moral values, so they should have explained to Ellie and Tommy why, since they are such moralists, in general DISCONTINUITY, and inadequacy! Druckmann, "well done" shows him as a "connoisseur" of psychology! Further, we can see Ellie's moral suffering from the murder of Nora and other WLF members - WHAT, SERIOUSLY? after Ellie killed about 50 people before that, in cold blood with a knife in the throat, can she still have any remorse? - Druckmann "genius" yes, he is just a god, "expert" in psychology! then we have some kind of a flashback with a conversation from the past where Ellie finds out that Joel killed everyone and why... STOP what is that??!! here the plot collapses completely because inadequacy rolls over, and if Ellie knew for what they killed Joel and should have understood that Joel got what he deserved at the beginning and thus there should be no further game at all! Further inadequate actions - when meeting a pregnant Mel and her husband in a conversation they said that Abby disappeared and may already be dead but don’t want to give up where she is and then they attack and got killed - yes this is exactly how a woman behaves on the 7-8th month of pregnancy and her husband protecting her, Druckmann is a genius, what a turn, genius, this shows him as an "expert" in psychology and a "talented" screenwriter.
    NOTES IN THE GAME
    why they even exist? game lore presentation? ok, but they are meaningless passages of scribble to be read, they contain 0 information! and these cards, why they even exist, what the purpose?
    GENERAL PLOT ISSUES
    teenagers as main characters in the first part of the game, acting like pros and cooler than any trained mercenary, indestructible cyborgs, the terminator rests aside... what? teenager killers in
    the post-apocalyptic world, genius, Druckmann is a genius, what a turn, no, cheap Netflix style plot!
    weapon improvement system is stupid and not immersive - we collect bolts and nuts and making an optical sight, compensator, etc... how? from bolts? it would be more adequate to find them in the open-world, all these compensators, scopes, rather than “craft”, from bolts. immersive feeling suffers greatly when you see something like this, casual upgrades for upgrades just because we need weapon upgrades. Next, we have the fact that melee weapons break from blows, am I silly or HOW the hammer or an axe - AXE! can break from chopping human flesh? - this shows Druckmann's fail in creativity and his impotence as a game designer who could not come up with gameplay where it would be necessary to change weapons and thus making artificial barriers in the gameplay, which simply looks stupid and not immersive at all! Why the gun, unlike the axe, does not break after 6 shots, ok, I see, according to Druckmann's vision the axe is a much more complicated mechanism, that's why - genius!
    GRAPHICS AND SOUND
    In general, game graphical realization and sound are VERY GOOD, my respect, this is 10 out of 10, the Naughty Dog technical team made it well, but there are minor flaws if you look carefully, e.g. the grass sways in layers like a sheet, unrealistic jumping animations are just awful, done clumsy and unrealistic, like a super Mario game, sometimes Jesse may lose his hair and became bald, but it's trifles.

    I give it 1 star for the graphichs, because that is how much that matters in this day and age, where almost every game has fine graphics. The rest of the game is a trainwreck, from the world building to mechanics. Playing this game i really do hope this is the last "Last of Us".

I pre-ordered the game from Gamestop and promptly picked it up and started to play it. I will list my Pro's and Con's below in details however I will give a quick synopsis first. One word describes this game, Predictable. From all of Neil Druckmann's tweets and how Sony has been copy striking people it was pretty obvious from the get go that this game is not for us, its Neil Druckmann's love letter to social justice. Everything was so predictable from the start. As an Asian male I heard about all of this inclusiveness and how this game was going to be a progressive step forward however the game is full of white characters. From the get-go the game does everything possible to get you to hate Ellie and side with Abby. The problem is Ellie is a beloved character and Joel is the anti-hero every game franchise needs. Abby had no back story, we had no investment towards her, but in Druckmann's mind her character checked a check box so we should just throw away our love and alliances for Ellie for Abby, because social justice! Abby's character is bland, there is no development into her, and quite honestly I didn't want to play as her, I wanted to kill her. The Joel death scene was again typical. It was a social message to embarrass the white manly male character by a woman in the most demoralizing way as possible. The death scene just like the sex scene was done for one reason, for the shock value. It was unnecessary and uncomfortable. The sex scene was disgusting and basically a rape scene. The plot of the story didn't develop well and nowhere in the game was I invested on continuing to play. Every cutscene had its injection of politics and I felt like I was being talked down too, as if I was reading a Neil Druckmann tweet. My final observation from this game is that it is a tone deaf to what we the people really want in a game and Druckmann and company are just trolling us. This was one of the worst games I've played not just from a plot line but also the characters and game play. The game play was linear and boring. I felt like I was just grinding to get to the plot of the story only to have everything I love about the game to be destroyed by a cut scene. The biggest problem I have is the media call me a woman hating, homophobic, blah blah blah blah. I'm sick of being talked down to by people in the media. I hate this game because its a bad game with a horrible plot,. You can call me names or a Russian Bot but it doesn't erase the fact that this game is a tone deaf and brief look into our current social state. If 98% of the country doesn't submit to what the media tells us to do or love then we are ________phobes, _____ists, etc. I have a few female members in my COD clan and all we talked about today was how horrible this game was so its not just men, its a majority of us that think this game needs to be buried with E.T. To me, This game isn't canon and Joel and Ellie are still alive.

    Good Graphics, nothing close to PC graphics but good for the platform

    Voice acting is top notch!
    Ellie is still one of the best characters along with Joel!

    The trailers lied and manipulated us. I bought this game because I saw Joel grabbing Ellie and thought this would be the continuation of their story.
    All the Joel footage is just flashback its a bait and switch

    Destroyed any replayability of TLOU 1 by destroying the characters

    Being forced to like Abby by being forced to play with her and the plot trying to set Ellie up into situations that force us to not like her; even though its totally against Ellie's character.
    Forcing an 8-month pregnant woman to patrol
    Joel's death scene was an obvious social statement and made to embarrass one of the best male characters in gaming
    The sex scene was disturbing and more like a rape scene and the sex scene had no build up or backstory. Its just two people meet and within minutes they are having sex even though this man has a family.
    The Lesbian couple was touted on Twitter and the media yet are a secondary throw away character in this game
    Abby is over powered and we are forced to play with her even though we all hate her.
    The unnecessary destruction of Ellie in the end is disgusting and was again just done for shock value and to boost up Abby
    The jump function is useless
    Lack of minority characters, all the main characters are white

    I love the game, hate the story. The point of TLOU2 is to continue TLOU1's story, but the second one just straight up replaced the character(s) spotlights onto new ones as if TLOU1 never existed, which what makes the story bad. It's like TLOU2 is a separate game from TLOU1.

This is lacy writing and thats why people are making parallels to the last jedi.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. По сравнению с первой частью этой игры, которая для меня оказалась ШЕДЕВРОМ, эта часть - ПОЛНЫЙ ПРОВАЛ!!! Ждать столько лет и получить ЭТО?!
    Геймплей и графика, возможно, и на лучшем уровне, но сюжет - это катастрофа, и дело тут вообще не в ЛГБТ составляющей!!!

    Тупо высосать из пальца и слить всеми любимого персонажа первой части, который всю жизнь, так сказать, готов был отдать за Элли, чтобы весь сюжет строился на линии "Месть ради мести", но в полной мере, при этом, неся посыл "Месть - это плохо, прости и отпусти, иначе потеряешь всё и всех".

    Всю игру меня переполняли чувства ненависти и ярости - какие-то непонятные и ненужные, в данный момент, сцены; персонажи, которые переобуваются десять раз за 5 минут - "Хватит мстить, они уже и так настрадались сполна", но через 5 минут, с покалеченной ногой и без глаза, орущий "Ты же дала слово убить их всех!".

    Такое чувство, что сценаристам была поставлена задача не только убить всех персонажей первой части игры (или, как минимум, покалечить их, лишив парочки конечностей), но и, введя новых героев, тут же убивать их, неожиданно и жестоко.
    Да - это апокалипсис, да - это войны между людьми, да - в таком мире всегда будут смерть и разрушения, но, черт возьми, Джоэл, забитый клюшкой ****** Эбби ради мести...
    Что? Что вообще происходит в этой игре?!

    Тот же Джоэл воспринимается как совершенно чужой человек, будто бы не с ним ты прошел через пол страны, оберегая маленькое сокровище.
    Та же Элли, пережившая столько боли и страданий, но в конце первой части все еще оставшаяся каким-то лучиком света в этом мерзком мире, выросла в страшного монстра, который совершенно лишён эмоций и не может понять, почему же Джоэл так поступил в этой чертовой больнице.

    Я могу написать еще сотню гневных слов, описывая минусы существующего сюжета, но, в конце концов, я в полной мере соглашусь с некоторыми людьми - лучше бы второй части этой игры ВООБЩЕ НЕ БЫЛО!!!    … Expand

    1 Score to appreciate the 7 years studio contributors for the gaming environment. However this excludes Neil Druckmann’s effort, his tyranny in dogs spoiled studio 7 years’ effort. Wish someone can be brave enough to expose Neil’s secret to public and his selfishness. Thank you all other Original Naughty Dogs’ stuff!

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
