    I feel gutted, what they've done to our beloved characters is insulting.

    Same gameplay as the first one, none impressive physics and animations, weird facial expressions, bad and boring story. The only good thing are the graphics, but you don't buy a game for the graphics.

    Go and play something else.

    Not a good game. It might be serviceable if they reordered events. Gameplay is pretty sluggish and repetitive. I've never had a linear game seem so oppressively linear. Rather than trying to explore an area, i'd be pushed into the next with no way back. None of the new characters were likeable or remember able. if I could get my money and time back I would.

    A perfect sequel. Rather than trying to compare the 2 campaigns, I see them as one long masterful story. This game is simply a must-play.

Or Just focusing on Abby and really making us feel the real anger for her father's death instead of forcing us to play like her without enough background story, i can't count the number of times I let her die in the fight with Ellie. I hope they don't have the nerve to release a "sorry there is more unlikeable character story" DLC for $19.99. Its not reviewbombing, the story is not good as it should be period.… Expand

    While the highly anticipated sequel came out, it is a sequel I rather not think about. The graphics are on par with today’s standards that do make the game look pretty but still running at 30fps? The gameplay is exactly the same as the first game with now a prone and jump button. The skill trees are super linear and also so are the levels after you pass Seattle day 1. After this scene it is not Really an open world Game anymore. Majority of the characters are unlikeable and sometimes feel extremely unnatural. The trailers lied and a lot of what was promised is also lied (i.e. the new enemies, dogs were said you can progress without killing them). Story wise is just quite lore breaking in some aspects, quite unbelievable at a lot times (I.e. the library basement at the very beginning) and extremely unsatisfying at the end.… Expand

    Disfruten el juego, es dificil no acercarse a los personajes, pero es una nueva entrega entiendan la historia y los que an criticado mal el juego es seguro que ni lo hayan comprado, es un juegazo y con unas graficas espectaculares que ponian mi ps4 a sonar como avion.

    The game looks good and the mechanics are good but the only reason I liked TLOU was the dynamic between Ellie and Joel. I stopped playing after Joel died. The story meant nothing to me after that point. I could care less about the "wokeness" it was Joel and Ellie that I played the game for.

    I have to be honest, I haven't heard of this "series" since last month. However, The Last Of Us did make me fell in love with its graphic, combat scenes, and of course its well-written story. There has never been lack of stories talking about people after an apocalypse, The Last of Us is one of those who stand out. The wining of massage over fiction quality. About the game itself, it does a terrible job trying to make us feel empathy towards the majority of the new characters, specially the new protagonist abby, as it tell us her motivation after she wins our hate. As for the original characters, the game deconstruct them with the only purpose of making us realize they deserve every bad thing they suffer, expect for the new cast. They act and feel like completely different personas. The journey is a cliché with an unsatisfying end. It is forced, its moral is empty. The story will constantly try to tell you you’re walking a wrong path, that what you’re doing is wrong, but at the same time it forces you to do all those horrible things. It spit in your mouth and demands for an apologize. As for the gameplay: the mechanics are something you already experienced on the first entry but in an almost perfect technical peak, being the “body to ground” mechanic the most interesting of all and a very useful one most of the times. The jump button goes from useless to ridiculous. The combat is extremely fluid and realistic. The AI is remarkable and works very well, but it can fell in being played by repeating the same movements and trick. The enemies won’t react realistically about allies being attacked and killed in front of them. The lack of new enemies is disappointing indeed, it focuses to much on human enemies and factions. The weapons are very reduce (six per character) and the customization is not as complex as it seems. In general the game will show you everything it can offer in the first hours, falling into a repetitive gameplay. As for the graphics and level design: It is sublime, the graphics (although many effects like the lightning and volumetric fog are missing in the retail) are as beautiful as you can expect. The environments are an achievement in artistic design as they truly make you feel in a world where nature is reclaiming civilization’s graveyard. The covers are way more organic and don’t look or feel as artificial as they did in the first game. This sequel wasn’t required, we didn’t needed. We were lied many times in the pre-release, and we were disrespected by ND team for not agreeing with well based concerns about its development. The legacy of the first game was killed of in a pathetic way of subverting expectations. In few words, the mo st important aspect of this title is its story, and it’s full of flaws, everything else is good and beautiful. But it’s not a 10/10 masterpiece, that i’m afraid is out of discussion.… Expand

The visuals and voice acting are the only positives I took from this game. Anyone that tells you Abby is the worst part of this hasn't seen the rest of the game.     This game is art ... I absolutely love it. The story is captivating, the fact that I have to play the villain is shocking and new. This game is dirty, frustrating and great. I like it a lot. In my opinion this is a masterpiece and gives the player a new and never seen gameplay. Of course it is a challenge to cope with all the violence, but as said before - it is art and I love it.

Y eso es lo que dicen todos, en mi opinión no es un mal juego debido a qué tiene momentos impactantes y conmovedores que te hacen reflexionar sobre si las acciones que hiciste anteriormente eran justas o no, y el final del juego te deja entender un mensaje que es el siguiente: "Ellie busco venganza y lo perdió todo" Es un final triste la verdad, pero eso no quiere decir que el juego sea malo, de lo contrario es una obra maestra. No entiendo el hecho de que hayan personas criticando el juego solo por la muerte de un personaje, aunque sí, es verdad que Joel fue el protagonista del primer juego y que hombre, creas que no que te maten a un personaje con el cuál has jugado la anterior entrega y que muera en las primeras horas de la segunda entrega a manos de una mujer musculosa y teniendo una muerte ridícula es un poco bruh, y creo que este es el motivo del hate que esta recibiendo el þitulo ya que muchas personas lo están juzgando sin apenas haberlo jugado ellos mismos y solo por esta parte de la historia me parece un poco estúpido. Es un buen juego de eso no tengo duda, pero opino que tendrían que cambiar la escena en la que el personaje muere por una más digna.… Expand

The gameplay improve a lot that is great, HOWEVER almost everyfan loved this game for the history and characters, we didn't play the first part to save the freaking planet, we did it in order to see the history between Ellie and Joel, when we saw and felt how Joel retake a lost special feeling when travel with Ellie and know that he doesn't want to lose his new family. If I have to be honest I was afraid because I couldn't find the way to explain a new plot in order to justify a second part for this game. Now I know this was the worst way to do it, we literally have to play with the damn killer, and you try .. no, you make the player take some kind of empathy to this character and it doesn't work. At the end Ellie lost everything, the last chapter when Ellie went to California in order to find Abby was the worst idea I ever see; Ellie didn't reach her goal (well, she does, but at that point anything didn't have a sense. That fight was bland for me), and she end's alone (WTF).....
    I think they did this part after see they screw up at beginning. Literally 60% of history are flashbacks that are not flash (bad joke I know)....
    They show us characters without relevance and poor development that as you know if you played they died in bland way....
    SUMMARY, is a great game if you really don't care the plot, sadly this game for the most of us is not just the graphics.    … Expand

I had told all my friends and my family that I was going to be offline for a couple days playing the game. I played the game and was of course saddened that they killed off Joel. I had seen some of the leaks previously of Joel’s death but wanted to believe they were fake. I was in denial but finally once I saw for myself that they killed off a beloved character I thought I understood what naughty dog was doing. You play as Ellie for the first 15/20 hours which was fine, but then they switch you off to Abby. Abby is the main “villain” who killed Joel. I’m not sure who naughty dog thought would want to play as Someone who killed the character that you learned to love in the first game. It doesn’t make sense overall. I Believe you play as Abby for 6+ hours and even towards the end of the game you hunt down Ellie. This doesn’t make sense to me whatsoever. Why would you want to play as someone that hunts down a character you love. Also the main reason Abby wanted to kill Joel in the first place was because Joel killed Abbys dad, who was the surgeon In the first game. This may be confusing but basically in the first game the main surgeon at the end of the game who Joel kills was Abbys dad. Wowww such a good story continuation. Abbys dad was the one who wanted to “kill” Ellie and go through with the surgery in the first place. Marlene didn’t even want to “kill” Ellie, but Abbys dad thought it was such a good idea so that way they could try to get a vaccine, even though the world was already dead. Overall I don’t hate this game, I just hate that naughty dog would think that we would want to play as someone who killed Joel. Also I don’t understand why Ellie didn’t kill Abby at the end of the game either. She traveled all the way down to get Abby and found her and drowns her, but in the last second has a realization. Doesn’t make sense. Again I don’t hate the game itself and the graphics and gameplay is beautiful, I just don’t like parts to the story. Overall if you want to buy this game I wouldn’t recommend it if you get too attached. I personally stopped playing the game when you start playing as Abby. I feel as though her part is unnecessarily long and boring, which it didn’t have to be, but no one really cares about her. Sorry this is long but I just wanted to share my thoughts.… Expand

El juego esta muy bueno en cuanto a calidad gráfica la historia llena de sed de venganza y a la vez de arrepentimiento la escena donde matas a nora refleja perfectamente la sed de sangre de ellie la brutalidad con la que la asesina y sobretodo su cara llena de odio me pone la piel China es mi parte favorita del juego pero no todo es color de rosa no me gustó para nada el final me pongo a pensar realmente valió la pena?? Todo el sacrificio de crusar medio país y encontrar a los asesinos de Joel para que al final después de matar a todos los involucrados y dejar libre a la culpable de todo a parte de matar a joel matar a prácticamente toda la familia y amigos de Ellie y que aparte le haya quitado dos dedos hubiera sido mejor si hubiera matado a abby intentaron hacer que empatizaramos con abby pero vamos maro a el protagonista del primer juego y eso a los fans no les gustó nada hubiera quedado mejor si hubiera matado a abby… Expand

    I'm not a paid shill in the gaming industry. I can be completely honest in my review and not be afraid of losing ad revenue or no longer getting free stuff from any gaming enterprise.

    The graphics on the game are great. Your PS4 sounds like a jet engine trying to take off when you run the game. The sound quality and music are both fine. The fight mechanics are a bit of an improvement. But you know what can instantly make or break a game? The story and character development.

    Joel and Tommy completely break character and do something stupid and get themselves killed.
    Abby pays back Joel and the crew saving her life by killing him in a brutal and sadistic way. None of this makes sense. You want Joel to momentarily act stupid? Have Abby save his life instead of vice versa and have Joel put his guard down. Abby shows her stupidity by letting the person that will try to exact revenge on her watch Joel get bludgeoned to death while enjoying sadistic pleasure in doing so.

    We have no character development of Abby before this ridiculousness so how can you empathize with her? How about building up her character first, then when she's finally rescued by Joel she has some sort of conflicted thoughts about exacting revenge? He murdered her father but saves her life. Instead of her brutally murdering Joel, have Joel's life be in danger mid game and see if Abby would save him or let him die. Please realize I'm not upset at Joel's death at all, but they did him dirty on this one.

    And what does the person who has killed dozens of enemies and watched essentially their father figure get brutally murdered do at the end of their quest for revenge? After having a several minute brutal fight that drags on in the end? Pull the "if I kill them I"m just as bad as them" card.

Neil it was a great game, I see the direction you tried to go with but it was just the writers, too many moments I had where I didnt give a fk about the other side of characters and felt it was just there so you would feel bad about what the future holds for a certain individual, but you have to understand nobody actually sees this reality because you're only one person, nobody knows what someone else went through to get them into the position they are in at the moment, so the whole guilt trip thing doesnt feel right especially "near" the ending. (If you played the first game you know this) Shoving him into a situation where he is helpless and giving him a pathetic death, he should've died to protect Ellie or something not this... I'm not mad that he died I'm mad at how he died and then they tried to make us sympathize with Abby. That did not work at all and I hated her all the way until the end and playing as her was boring. She deserved a death worse than Joel's but Ellie just walked away for no reason after everything she's been through to get to her and the hundreds of people she's killed. That would've redeemed the game if she at least got her revenge. This game was a disappointment and a waste of money. They ruined this franchise.     I understand people’s critique of it being a simple revenge story. But after Joel’s death, I wanted revenge too. I hated Abby.

    But then something changed, when I played as Abby. I just wanted to stop playing so neither of them died. But I didn’t stop. And Naughty Dog rewarded me with a beautifully bleak story.
