    Great visuals and production values but that's about it.
    The story isn't even mediocre. Without going into spoilers, there's a general lack of credibility when it comes to some of the characters. You don't believe it's the same character from the first game because they're making ridiculous decisions all because the plot says so.

    Besides that, I'm really tired post-apocalyptic games/movies/shows where it's all about shock value. If you can't write something decent, you go for shock factor and that's pretty prevalent in this genre. This game turns that mantra up to 11 and unfortunately, tarnishes the first game in the process.

    Don’t understand the hate this game seems to be getting. It had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. It was filled with plenty of thrilling action set pieces and beautiful environments. The story had some moments that I thought brought it down a tad but nothing big enough to take me out of it. It was gripping the whole way through and I really enjoyed the ending. Not only that, but the concept of "circle of revenge" and the redemption of Ellie doesn't make any sense in a post-apocalyptic world where everyone is just trying to keep their loved ones and themselves alive, specially in the context of Abby.     Waste of money. Uneventful ending. Visuals- better than the first game.
    Gameplay- About the same. Moving things around to get from place to place replaced with jump. Story- Pretty much uprooted the first game, put into a fire pit, and burned.

Its a masterpiece and a worthy contender for best game of all time. And don't give me that "its too violent" bs. All trolls do is complain about that they want tech more real...well here it is most realistic game I've seen and I'veDon't be a hater over the leaks it was superb.     They ruined the duo of Joel and Ellie. The sequel spits on the greatness of the first game. I wanted to put the controller down once I started playing as Abby. I don't care about Abby's history or her motivations. I finished the game hoping the ending gave some satisfaction. However, the ending was every bit as awful as the journey.    … Expand

I'll say what everyone already knows: graphics, character models, environmental expansion and design, dialogue, weapons, combat, stealth, and general gameplay are all incredible. Naughty Dog has once again gone above and beyond to show what they're capable of. I'm not the least bit disappointed in any one of these things.

    I also loved the story and the writing. I think Joel's death, one aspect of the story a lot of people had/have a problem with, was inevitable and, quite frankly, not undeserved. That's not to say anyone deserves to have somebody play golf with their head, just that he had it ("it" meaning death) coming. I love him as much as I love Ellie; they're my two favorite characters in video games and I live for their dynamic in the first game. But he killed so many, indiscriminately and often brutally.

    After an entire game of killing hunters, soldiers, and cannibals (a bit of torture included), Joel massacred a hospital of Fireflies, killed a surgeon, shot an unarmed Marlene, and robbed the world of a possible cure. Yes, attaining that cure meant Ellie's death, but we know and Joel knew that she would want them to do it, even had she known the consequence. The second game only confirms this for us.

    Joel admitted to Ellie that he was once "on the other side," meaning he was a hunter. At one point, he was so bad his own brother had to abandon him, and we know Tommy's no Mother Teresa himself. Joel had it coming.

    And to those who think this game is "disrespectful" to him and his memory: the entire story is Ellie avenging him, despite his misdeeds and lies. We see her love for him shine through in dialogue and flashbacks and especially in her music, despite the fact that he lied to her about the Fireflies. Despite the fact that she eventually found out the truth. She misses him with every fiber of her being, just like we do.

    The only reason I've chosen to give this game a 9/10 instead of a 10/10? Abby. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike her. I sympathize with her (although not nearly as much as I sympathize with Ellie or Joel) and I can see things from her perspective and understand why she did what she did. But I still didn't want to play her for so long. Stepping into her shoes here and there would have been fine, like it was in the beginning, but playing the latter half of the game as her is...questionable.

    The gameplay and dialogue and characterization are still immaculate as we play as Abby. I liked meeting her friends, the nameless faces who were there with her as she killed Joel. I liked getting to know them as people and seeing her in a new light as her loyal companions. But I'd gotten so used to being with Ellie...it just felt wrong. In more ways than one. I didn't want to leave Ellie behind for anyone else, and doing so for the woman who killed Joel made it feel even more out of place.

    Still, I loved the game, and I will be replaying it soon and recommending it to friends and family. I'd also strongly recommend it to anyone who happens to read this.    … Expand

    -They have succesfully butchered every single
    beloved character from the first game.
    -Inserted disgusting anal sex scene between two men to the game
    -Forcing you to play as abby and forced to experience his story. He is a terrible character
    and the game tries to justify his actions
    -Gameplay is the same boring stuff from the first game with no improvements
    -They twisted the chemistry between the characters Ellie now hates Joel, wtf?
    -Jewish propaganda and reminding the player about HOLOCAUST in the middle of post apocalyptic setting. WTF

    Truly a masterpiece among bad games. Jesus christ. DO NOT BUY THIS.

I persisted all the way through, and all I can say is I will never do it again.

    Despite some graphical improvements, high fidelity voice acting and facial capture, I can't give this game a higher rating than 1/10 - because I simply did not enjoy the process. Triple A titles don't get high ratings just for having hollywood budgets.

    It is alarming to me that the entire professional review industry is compromised. I will never read another professional game review.

    The character arc, development and story are so bad, it ruined the entire experience for me.

    I'm not sure if I played a video game, or a new type of political propaganda masquerading as an interactive experience.    … Expand

    Los pro's del juego en si es lo mismo que caracterizó a la primera entrega, limpiamente en tanto gameplay como en gráficos, sublime en esos sentidos.. A parte que por partes te sientes en un mundo abierto al momento de explorar.

    Aqui va lo malo de ésta entrega (spoilers advertidos desde este punto), y es que es muy pobre en cuanto a la historia, desde un comienzo te quitan a un personaje realmente importante, con el cual simpatizabas en gran medida.. Te meten personajes sin un desarrollo como Dina y Jessy, que lo unico que hacen es frenar el rumbo de Ellie de comienzo a fin. Luego van los flashbacks, el punto a favor que tiene es el flashback del cumpleaños de ellie con joel, pero todo se va al abismo por la sobre actuación de la personaje principal al saber la realidad de las luciérnagas, sin entender el propósito que hubo tras Joel, a eso súmenle que te intentan meter de manera obligada a la antagonista, para que "simpatices" con sus propósitos, simplemente obligado, gratis, horrendo según mi punto de vista.

    a Tommy que fue una voz de la razón y el personaje carismático de la entrega, en momentos finales te lo venden como un viejo loco, eso más Dina que abandona a ellie sin entender el punto de venganza y rencor que tiene contra Abby (la antagonista de la entrega), todo esto termina metiéndose a la psique de la protagonista al momento de su venganza, sin poder concretar la muerte de Abby y por ende, dejándola viva.. El único personaje con el cual podías simpatizar termina cayendo al abismo, junto Tommy, jessy y Dina, simplemente despreciable el uso final de Ellie y sus flashbacks de sobre reacción hacia Joel, todo lo que hicieron bien en The las of Us 1 lo han terminando matar de manera pobre en una segunda entrega, que pasaron 7 años puliendo para finalmente entregarnos lo peor ..     A truly ambitious and emotionally charged game. Takes actions that developers and creators rarely risk to take. This game is not a ‘happy’ or feel good game. It will make you feel sad, angry, and confused, and will put you in situations where you may question your own moral standings.

The ending is terrible argumentatively speaking, there is no point in Ellie forgiving Abby, it is simply something absurd objectively speaking, the qualification is for the story, something in which The Last of Us shone, all the feelings and the bond that we unite with the characters it disappears, they throw it away, a waste of new characters. The gameplay is very good but there are still problems with the AI, but I insist that you cannot throw away everything you built in the first part, wasting many of your new and old characters for a goal that you finally did not meet. Terrible, I do not know what the criticism saw well in terms of history, I suppose that daring to kill characters and especially the main characters of the last game, but if they are going to do it, it must be done very well, however, in the end the way they did it was ridiculous.… Expand

Even though i didn't like to play as her, Joel's death is not bad written, it's a cruel world, he is actually a bad person and this game gave him not plot armor. He actually got what he deserved, even if you like it or not. Don't get me wrong, it did hurt me a lot to watch him die like that, but I don't hink it was bad writing. Even if you don't empathize with Abby, the goal is not to make you feel sorry for her, but to understand her reasons. What Naughty Dogs did was kinda like playing with fire, and they kinda burnt themselves, but at the end I think they made one of the most memorable games ever.… Expand

But still, some plot holes lay. This story didn’t settle with me well at first, it hurt my heart and stomach, it still does. Giving me some sort of depression, that is still settling within me. This has only happened to me twice, with RDR2 and now this. It should go away in a week or so, but the point is, you must let this game settle for a bit before reviewing it. And I can’t stress this enough, you need to play this game, or at least watch all 10 hours of cutscenes before you even have the right to judge it.

    Gameplay:
    Utterly revolutionary and ground breaking. A true game changer for future games to uphold or let alone compete with. A new bar has been set, this is just one of the next steps towards a new generation of games.    … Expand

You can compare this sequel to Tokyo Ghoul Season 2, it has almost nothing to do with first season because it just jumps ahead in time, it tries to make you care for a new nobody character and has unnecesary cuts in the main character plot that we do know and we doSeems like making a politically correct videogame these days is more important than making a fun, enjoyable, coherent game. You can compare this sequel to Tokyo Ghoul Season 2, it has almost nothing to do with first season because it just jumps ahead in time, it tries to make you care for a new nobody character and has unnecesary cuts in the main character plot that we do know and we do care for. I'm not saying that you don't have to play this game, but you might want to get a refund after doing it. In this aspect TLOU2 Is pretty comparable to Warcraft III: Reforged in terms of how "well" it does his job at giving us hopes and dreams just to be crushed by unfinished works and promises that couldn't be delivered. So to summarize up I just wanna say ND=Blizzard+Activision.

    I feel pretty disappointed over on how bad the storyline is. Part 2 literally ignore the first Tlou purposes. More like there’s a lot of SJW’s involved in this game but overall, I’ll rate it 2 for the graphic and the team’s hardwork for this game. I appreciate it.

    Its not perfect but its damn close to be... this game is one of those games where you either like it or you dont, there’s no middle ground... the story is beautiful, meaningful and makes you think a lot about your actions. And of course, shows you, that in every story, theres 2 or more different sides, and sometimes no one is right and its just a matter of perspective of the point of view.. 9/10

    This game is slow to start and the controls are not that fluid. And I feel if an agenda wants to be pushed politically or personally. It shouldn't be done in a video game.     Great game, graphics are top tier. Gameplay is smooth and fluid. AI is the best I've seen in this type of game. And the story isn't awful like many hage been trying to say.

    The combat is okay and the graphics are definitely an improvement over the last game. However the story is nothing like the first one, they took all of the character development that people loved in the first one and threw it out the window. I'm not finishing it, I actually play games to enjoy myself and there's nothing enjoyable about whatever this is supposed to be. Also no spoilers but REALLY! TLOU2 hasn’t even been out for a week.
    After about 22 hours I have completed this game, and decided to come here with a more positive take on this game. First, the graphics. The graphics in this game is phenomenal. ND knows how to make a game look and feel alive. Secondly, the story. A lot of people hated the story. While i do agree that this game had a worse story than the first one, I didn’t think it was as bad as people are making it out to be. While it doesn’t have as many meaningful moments as the first one, this one has a story that keeps you mostly invested until the end. The last thing I want to talk about in my review is the gameplay. I have seen a couple of reviews stating that the gameplay is outdated and boring, which I cannot understand. Sure most of the puzzles can get repetitive, but the combat makes up for it. The combat is amazing. The way people react to getting shot in the foot and starts moaning about it, and how they can bleed out after getting shot with an arrow in the neck just adds to the immersion. I also liked that they included specialized skill trees for stealth, melee and gunplay.    … Expand

    However, in this game we have a lot of flaws, the character that is suposed to be a hero is one of the most hated (Abby) because the story make you first hate her to like her after, and to work on this you have to play 10 hours of abby and you're still traumatized by the first scenes.

    Here I thought Ellie growing up to be such a ugly woman was the worst part of the game. Oh boy was I wrong, the game is so bad and without logic and if you ever played the first game or care about the main characters of Part I this game is going to really insult you and definitely disappoint you.

    The Last of Us Part ii delivered a great gaming experience for me. Despite some very controversial plot points, I overall enjoyed playing this game. It took me a couple days to complete with a playtime of around 26 hours so I doubt a lot of the users giving this game negative reviews have even played through the game fully as they were only posted on the release day.

    Story: 6/10

    One of the weaker parts of this game. I questioned a lot of major plot decisions such as how the ending was left and killing off Joel. Joel’s death felt too rushed and insignificant for such an important character. It was sudden with not much buildup, and his death felt somewhat pathetic for such a strong character. It didn’t feel plausible, as I doubt Joel would usually trust strangers so easily. I felt this scene could’ve been handled a lot better.

    The decision to let Abby live at the end left me feeling rather unsatisfied. For Ellie to go through all the effort of hunting her down and killing lots of people on her journey for her to NOT kill the very person who murdered Joel came off as strange. The message of revenge not being the answer is good but.. just not in this case.

    My favourite aspects of the storytelling were by far the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie. These were handled very well and had me smiling all the way through. The bond between the two was shown perfectly. The pacing of the game was very nice (apart from Joel’s death feeling rushed) and left us with some beautiful moments like the first game did. A favourite of mine was Ellie playing the guitar to Dina.

    Gameplay: 9/10

    The gameplay was practically the exact same as the games predecessor, except with a few added mechanics. This isn’t really a complaint as I thoroughly enjoyed the first game’s gameplay.

    Loved the AI, as it felt like I was fighting against real people. Their walk cycles weren’t as predictable and the fact that they each had names and reacted to the deaths of their comrades and pet dogs was a nice touch. This almost had me feeling bad for them.

    Started off easy but started to incorporate harder battles about half way through.

    Graphics and Design: 9/10

    The graphics were stunning, as expected from Naughty Dog. Some scenes almost looked photorealistic. The lighting was especially great, setting a variety of moods for each scene.

    Areas felt somewhat linear, but this doesn’t bother me much as it’s a game focused on story over exploration. Each area was designed very well and I loved the small details inside the houses.

    Sound design and Music: 10/10

    The best part of the game. The music was beyond beautiful, capturing the feelings of each scene perfectly.

    Sound effects were also amazing and very immersive. Not much else to say here as it’s just perfect and I have no complaints.

    Characters: 7/10

    Contrary to popular opinion I love most of the characters. Ellie and Joel will always remain my favourites but Dina and Jesse were a nice addition to the game and I liked seeing them on scene and seeing them interact with Ellie.

    Only thing that brings down this score is Abby. She’s a god awful character who even though I’m supposed to have empathy for, all I feel is rage towards her. Having to play as her was unbearable as I hold so much hate for this character. She wasn’t likeable at all.

    Replayability: 7/10

    Gameplay was fun and I love playing as Ellie, but having to see Joel die again, playing as Abby and knowing how the game will end sort of ruins the experience a little. Give it time and perhaps I’ll play it again on a harder game mode. It’s worth playing again just for that one flashback at the dinosaur park to be honest.    … Expand

    What a masterpiece. This is the benchmark for game developers. This is what a game should look like. PlayStation is so far ahead that it isn't funny any more. Game, set and match. The haters can post their zeros as much as they like because jealousy is a beautiful thing. Hey, even post a minus for all I care.
    In the meantime, I'm going to play this game again on full the difficult level.

    This game had everything in the world going for it. A strong story continuation of the first game, a strong fanbase, and a renowned studio creating this game. The game took two steps and fell on it's own face. A complete spit in the eye for all fans of the first game, and a failure of a story that will truly go down in history. Along with things like GOT and starwars.

The characters you loved in the last game are not the same, as if they were written completely differently or as if the characters had amnesia and forgot about how much they care about each other. Many decisions the characters made in this game made no sense and leaves the player frustrated beyond belief because the PLAYER cannot PLAY the game in crucial moments. The player is forced to perform actions that no true person with any sense of morality would. The game tricks the player into thinking we will get a happy ending or at least a satisfying ending, yet when the ending rolls in, we are left hurt, confused, and angry. I am sorry, but when you make a game that is mostly loved and known for the story, you better make the sequel to it just as good. Unfortunately, this game does not have a well written story and there are many plot holes. I can't say much more without spoiling, but just know that I will always believe the Last of Us ended 7 years ago when it was first released. I will not accept this sequel as part of one of the best stories in video game history.    … Expand
