    A needless sequel to an absolute masterpiece. This was clearly the project of an opportunist trying to take advantage of a giant platform. Nothing of value here. Just play the first one and forget about this game.

If you loved the first The Last of Us game, story and characters, please, for the love of God, do NOT play this game! Naughty Dog does everything possible to ruin and destroy the story, dynamics and bonds earned and enjoyed with the original beautigul The Last of Us story. For example, in the beginning if the game, they Kill Joel (a Trans Abby smashes his head in with a golf club while licking her lips and slurping down the blood, skull and brain matter that splatters on her face, all the while moaning in ecstasy), then, after about 10 hours as Ellie, SJW Naughty Dog has the utter audacity to force you to play as Trans-Abby (the one that smashed in Joel's head with a golf club), and begins changing the narrative by painting Joel and Ellie as the "Bad Guys" while making the "new" Trans- Abby character into a "Superhuman-Superhero", aka "Marry Sue", meaning "IT" is now the most powerful character in the game, all the while painting "it" as a poor, victimized "thing" that has suffered so much at the evil and despicable hands of Joel and Ellie, that we MUST all feel sorry for "IT" and grant "IT" the revenge "IT" deserves by giving Abby the privilege and the obligatory, anointed right of sadistically, maliciously, brutally, maiming, destroying and finally murdering our beloved and cherished Ellie and Joel characters in conjunctionwith the e tire original The Last of Us storyline! Ultimately, Naught Dog forces us to suffer through this abomination of a story because Ellie and Joel were not SJW enough, so they must be punished for their sins with pornographic violence inflicted by a total "Marry Sue", "IT" character, aka Abby. SHMDH, what a waist, it's like they hooked up with Kathlene Kennedy (the lady that ruined Star Wars) and said, how can we absolutely ruin the Last of Us original story and kick everyone in the balls that played and lived the original game for Naughty Dogs Nefarious SJW facist agenda! Pushes transsexual agenda upon children, yet Naughty Dog keep talking about how they don't like to "sexualise" characters. You are fostering mental illness and it is simply deplorable. I don't care what anybody says, this is simply the truth, and everybody knew this just 8 years ago but we seemed to have forgotten when it was suddenly pushed upon everyone via the mainstream media. This tripe also has an anal sex scene with one of the "sexually ambiguous" characters called "Abbie". The story is a trainwreck, the gameplay is mediocre and also disgustingly violent, the entire game is in fact a sick SJW fantasy murder simulator for them to enact out their misplaced rage. There is absolutely nothing to enjoy about this. Wish I could get a refund.… Expand

    "Social Justice Warrior: The Game" They took whatever was good in the first game and literally left it untouched, putting a huge emphasis on presentation and the story that is a big **** YOU to fans and newcomers alike which revolve around tries pathetically hard to be emotional, raw and inspirational which is gonna age like milk.

    Sadly the story could not live up to the standards of the first one. The gameplay is the same as the first one for the most part but even that wasn't as good (the AI and the map layout is much worse). Overall HUGE disappointment.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the most disappointing game I have ever played. Never did I think the studio behind Uncharted 2, my favorite game of all time, would create this.

    Don't get me wrong, the gameplay and graphics are fine, I also don't have a problem with Ellie and her girlfriend, but it's the story that got people to buy TLOU 1. If you're announcing a sequel to that, the story better be good. But instead, we got this. This absolute trainwreck of a story. I honestly thought the leaks weren't true, but they were. Joel actually gets his head caved in by Abby. Although she is not trans, she is just a girl. But then later ND paints Abby as a good person after this. We are forced to play as her multiple times and Niel Druckmann himself mocaps a character named Owen and spits on Joel's corpse after he dies. Owen also has sex with Abby in a later scene, which is one of the most disturbing scenes in all of media. They basically were saying, ''We made you wait 7 years to see the continuation of Joel's story only to kill him in the first 2 hours.''

    What's even worse is that Ellie goes on and on about revenge and kills every single one of Abby's comrades, hell even mauls dogs with naily clubs, but spares Abby because ''revenge is wrong''. She killed pregnant women, mauled dogs to death, murdered God knows how many seraphites and kills everyone related to Joel's death, but not the killer. She, even after getting her fingers bitten off by Abby, decided to spare her, when Ellie could drown her.

    And yes, they are setting up a sequel with Abby as the protag.

    The few Joel and Ellie scenes in this game are the best part about it. Especially the birthday scene. But the way Joel was killed off pisses me off. I would have been fine with him going out like John Marston or old man Logan, instead he got killed like an insect. This game is a slap in the face for not just TLOU, but Naughty Dog in general.    … Expand

    This game has improvements in terms of graphics , controls, mechanics and gameplay. But the story and a few bugs are why the game is receiving such a bad score.

    Waited awhile to post this but I was highly disappointed with this sequel, the whole revenge plot that the director wanted to do for this game was poorly implemented and considering Last of Us Part 2 is a story driven game the plot was all over the place & didn't make any sense. While I enjoyed playing as Ellie & Abby but both Characters Overall Plot Was executed very messy & confusing andWaited awhile to post this but I was highly disappointed with this sequel, the whole revenge plot that the director wanted to do for this game was poorly implemented and considering Last of Us Part 2 is a story driven game the plot was all over the place & didn't make any sense. While I enjoyed playing as Ellie & Abby but both Characters Overall Plot Was executed very messy & confusing and left me feeling very dissatisfied. I commend all the hard work put in to making this game from the Art & graphics even including the gameplay but I cannot complement the story aspects. I now understand why the previous Head team at Naughty Dog Development on the first Last Of Us didn't want to Do a Revenge plot on the first game. Why the New Head director choose to do the same for the sequel is beyond me. Unfortunately I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to anyone considering all the crunch culture the employees at Naughty Dog had to go through leading to people leaving the studio, even including all the people who were effected by the DMCA stike takedown & the threat of loosing their Channel on YouTube just for having a opinion on this game. While I hate to say it but I am making a hard choice and will not be looking forward to anything else coming from Naughty Dog Studio anymore, not untill the Studio takes a long look at what they need to do moving forward in order to make a good game.… Expand

    I knew about the spoilers but played regardless and thought since so called professional reviewers said you have to I would give it a chance one of the worst mistakes I’ve made with my money! Then I learned how they lied to us in the trailers I believe we should file a class action law suit!

Ellie goes on a killing spree, We have to fight against Ellie.... As ABBY of all people, the person everybody hates. Then when we finally get to kill her they dont allow us. What I also hate is people blaming bad reviews on political agenda. I can guarantee that post people dont care that ellie is lesbian but they blame the bad reviews on that.     Joel what are they done to you... There are many positive aspects of the game, graphics, animations, mod for deaf people, but the story the most important thing is very very weak. I have no motivation for playing more.

    Graphics are great. Story was ok until I got to the 13 hr mark and you start as Abby Damn that part is like unplayable. The game looks amazing but I've never felt so unmotivated to finish a part of a game before. A character that kills off one of your favorites of all time and they want you to play as them. Idk if I'll even finish it's that bad. I get all the negative reviews now. I meanGraphics are great. The story is convoluted with SJW bs, not just shoved up the a**, but forcibly rammed up there with an egg beater on full blast, whilst on fire. I honestly couldn't finish the game. They made me play for 7+ hours as a character i despised. Furthermore, the skill tree and perks are serealized and locked which meant i had to sacrifice point for perks i didn't want to get through to the ones i wanted! Last Of Us 2 throws all character development and effort in story building for who knows what. Graphic is good but what’s the point when the story is so **** it makes you want to commit seppuku. The game forces down your throat with politics and messages that makes the character interaction so weird and unnatural.

    Joe dies in the early play time no build up, no effort to make it seem redeemable just wasted character for their game of shock value. You feel so **** that after joe dies you regret even playing it. I can’t even tell you how much I sighed and whined. You are also force to give a **** and care about the character Abby that killed Joe by playing as her WTF? Why is this game even developed in the first place ? The game in summary just touched on how revenge is bad like WTF? It’s the apocalypse did the story developer not remember what their making.     Technally impressive. Poor stealth mechanics, poor gunplay, dumb AI, average voice acting, repetetive level design, repetetive enymies, cringe dialogues, terrible narrative full of plotholes, extremely unlikable characters atrocious pacing and balance.

    Overrall a terrible and extremely boring game. Look at it for the graphis but stay far far away from playing it

    La Mayoría estamos desconcertados... Únicamente tiene buenas calificaciones siendo un juego políticamente correcto e inclusivo... Pero muy mal que de la nada dañen la historia de un apocalipsis "zombie" a una trama de dos lesbianas.

    A journey of revenge turns into a nightmare. Personally, you can't decide on any of those actions. You just have to display what the results are of the bad writing. The game is also too long, stretched and redundant as you play as two identical characters pathways. Expositions are the same, Tutorials are the same. You could easily spare hours of non-related and no fun content without sacrificing this horrifying story. The only credits I can give upon the graphics and the eye for certain details around the world. The quality is amazing, grass, environment in generally. buildings.. I wouldn't believe it, if I hadn't experienced it first hand, that one person, the story writer could ruin such game. Kinda feels sad.    … Expand

    Played to the end. Worst gaming experience ever. A complete nonsensical story that kills off a beloved character with no dignity or a reason. Gameplay is absolutely the same with no new innovations. Save your money and dont buy!!!

The new character that you play as is a deplorable person yet the writers of the game wants us to sympathize with her. No! There is 2 thing that is horrible in TLOU2, the story and the characters, including Joel and Ellie, Story is really terrible and makes 0 sense IMO. Naughty Dog betrayed us and changed the personalities of the characters in a bad way. I think all of the other characters are built on SJW. Animations are good, mechanics are good, the combat system is good, graphics are good, horse mechanics are bad dialogues are good, Since the main points of TLOU are the story and the characters it is 1/10, This review may take hella dislikes but this is my personal idea so I don't care.… Expand

    The director Neil Druckmann went out of his way and said: "The game isn't meant to be fun". What is it trying to achieve then? If you're not providing entertainment, then what are you trying to do? School me? Creators MAKE YOU go though all these terrible things and then have you feel sorry for doing it, but (and this is the worse part) not in a single instance in this game can you choose to go 'non lethal'. See that random dude over there? you're gonna have to slit his throat to progress forward. See that pregnant lady? yeah you gotta butcher her too. And what if you say 'no' , what if you decide that you've had enough and you don't want to mindlessly keep on executing dozens upon dozens of people you have never met before? Well, the game just gatekeeps you out of experiencing the rest of the story. In the name of what? Neils twisted fantasy? A laughable, petty story about revenge? Creators say that the game 'makes you think' but it never actually does. People who made this game think that suffering, gore, mass murdering gives the story depth, which is ridiculous in of itself. Making your characters experience bad things doesn't make them deep, it's the things that they think and how they feel that makes them seem like a real human being. Here, they never reflect upon what they do, and what literal war crimes they've commited. In the original game, you had moments of sadness and grief, but you also had cheerful moments and comic reliefs, There is none of that here. It feels like you are watching a Zack Snyder movie cranked up to 11, everyone is perpetually angry or sad, everyone hates each other for seemingly no reason. Think of Deanerys in GoT s8 and copy paste her ridiculous flip out where she goes on to kill everyone onto every other character in this game. And after all this, laying waste to over 100+ people in graphic fashion, that phisically made me sick and the game forces you to do, you get a manifesto from ND saying that it's wrong to kill people. Are you serious?

    On top of all that pandering and literly spitting on the previous game that people loved you get gameplay mechanics from 2009. I can't stress this enough, in terms of it's gameplay design, this is one of the most outdated, unimaginative AAA game you will ever see. You get the dudes back with one button, stab him with a different one, sometimes shoot the gun, that's it. Game markets having dogs as if it was some game-breaking revolutionary addition even though every stealth game has them. All these new gameplay elements, you've seen all of them in different games, sure they are refined, but not in a way that's worth talking about.

    Poorly done game where you spend half of your game playing a character you hate and getting throw flashbacks over flashbacks in a poor attempt to make the player feel pitty for such character.

    Graphics are great and all but when the story just isn't good, it's all wasted.

    The only redeeming quality about this game is the character models and voice acting. The story is garbage, there is hardly any improvement in game play (Certainly not a generational leap), the AI sucks and enemies are reused often and most of the game is walking doing nothing.     Doesn’t deserve more than a 1. And the 1 is given because gameplay is decent. The most of us played the Last of Us for the story and let me tell you there was no story. Killing off main characters just for the “shock” value. This game was SJW propoganda.

Why would there be THIS many people upset over the game? The recent Final Fantasy 7 Remake quite literally split the fanbase in two, but look at the userscore...

    The writing in this game feels like a fan fic written by a secret third party, who knows nothing about writing for video games, let alone The Last Of Us, but was given a platform to push their agenda. The choices made by established characters completely goes against everything we know about them and what they've said or done before.

    Gameplay takes a backseat to all the agenda, especially when they have to get such Schindler's List-tier masterpiece lines like "bigot sandwich" across. Also thought it was a terrible design choice to have a guitar strumming minigame, to thematically tie with the world and characters, but no golf minigame.

    Oh, and what even happened with the whole infection/Ellie being immune? This is so obviously only written for one purpose: agenda.    … Expand

    Everything about the game is good, except the most important thing in the last of us franchise which is the story.

    The story is so bad, beloved characters act in stupid ways, and the way the story concludes is a spit in the face of all the fans.

    Оригинал козырял предсказуемым сюжетом, псевдонаучной завязкой, нереалистичными ситуациями, нарушениями законов собственного лора, невнятными взаимоотношениями главных героев(хотя для развития, прости Император, сюжета бандюки-каннибалы сделали больше, чем дедок с девчонкой, впору называть их главными) и бессмысленной концовкой с явным заделом на сиквел, но эффект новизны и закат актуального поколения консоли вытягивали эту Дракмановскую шизофрению со дна. Время выхода первой части говорит само за себя - дополнительное спихивание устаревающей пс3 и форсирование продаж пс4 за счёт ремастера "лучшей игры прошлого поколения", и всё это за относительно небольшие средства, благодаря которым игра была признана "шедевром" сначала игрожурами, а затем и внушаемым сообществом.
    Продолжение представляет собой вторичность от вторичности в квадрате, поскольку по сути является криво раздутым длц для оригинальной игры. Попытка натянуть старых "героев" на глобус плохо написанной драмы с элементами унылой расчленёнки, ради и вокруг которой, собственно, игра видимо и затевалась. Ну и ради поиметь пару раз бабла с фанатья, само собой. Если у вас нет вкуса и критического мышления, то эта игра однозначно для вас.
    Но отдельного упоминания заслуживают Сони и мракобесие с рецензиями на их продукты, которые имея достаточное количество бабла и армию фанатиков без собственного мнения, формируют это самое мнение задолго до выхода любой своей игры посредством игровых сми и "блогеров", а апофеоз абсурда происходит за несколько дней до релиза с выставлением на порядок завышенных оценок от одобренных изданий с упором на "невероятный и эмоциональный" сюжет и "проработанных" героев. Ваши языки, игрожуры, уже давно глубоко застряли в гузне Сони и им подобных. Вас можно понять - деньги, выставки, коллекционочки, ранний доступ, инсайды - всего этого издатель легко может вас лишить, суди вы об их играх объективно и справедливо. Печально наблюдать отсутствующее самоуважение, а также растущий с каждым годом уровень деградации игроков и игростроя, поддерживаемый ради сверхприбылей с помощью манипуляций в сми и небольшого, в рамках бюджетов подобных проектов, бабла.
    Время всегда всё расставляет по своим местам, как уже было с целой плеядой издателей, когда зашкаливающий уровень халтуры просто невозможно игнорировать и фекалии начинают переливаться через край. Для Сони первые капли уже упали.    … Expand

No, not all of the negative reviews here have to do with the developers' portrayal of "woke" characters, the narrative is genuinely horrendous. Its characters are handled atrociously (again, this has nothing to do with their "wokeness")and completely invalidate all development from the first game. Their decisions are entirely nonsensical and only occur because it is convenient to the plot. For example, Joel, a *hardened survivor* who frequently shows extreme caution in the first game, walks right into a room full of armed strangers and *tells them his name*, because the plot decided that Joel needed to be killed off for shock value in this scene. This game loves to throw mandatory, meaningless violence at the player for fruitless shock value and then *blame the player* as if they had any choice in the matter. For instance, in one scene the protagonist Ellie kills a medic woman who was sent on a mission. It has been frequently demonstrated that medics are extremely important in the world of The Last of Us, so of course this woman would be sent out in the open without a second thought, because the game needs to show how bloodthirsty Ellie is! Oh, and did I mention that this woman is *pregnant* as well? It makes absolutely no sense and only serves to make the player feel bad when Ellie kills her. But in my opinion, the absolute worst part of this game is Abby. No one cares about Abby. No one asked to play as her for half the game, and yet that is what you are forced to do, and it is very badly handled. Abby is an absolutely irredeemable character; she has taken everything from Ellie. And yet the game constantly tries to make you feel as though Ellie is the antagonist of this story. Her character is so uninteresting and is only made worse when she attempts to steal the role of protagonist. The ending is also terrible. Ellie, after slaughtering countless innocents, decides to spare Abby *right after trying to kill her* because she once forgave Joel for something terrible as well. I am not making this up. Abby gets away with no consequences, and Ellie is left with no family, no friends, and a serious injury. There are no words to describe how awful this plot is.… Expand

    As a huge fan of the first game, I was dissapointed when Druckmann initially said not all players would like the sequel. I always under the impression that people made games to be liked by it's fans, what a silly idea.     This is a story based game with one of the worst stories I've ever experienced. It is bleak, nonsensical and leaves one feeling hollow by the end. It disappoints on so many levels and any fan of the first game will not just be let down but insulted. Save your $60 for something more deserving.

    Not only was Joels murder overly brutal for shock value, they made Joel into an idiot in order to do it. He made decisions that he would never have made, trusting armed strangers like he knew them.
    It's beyond dumb.
    Then you're forced to play as the character that kills Joel for a big chunk of the game, ridiculous.

    This is comparable to Disney Star Wars and GOT season 8, if you like them you may like this.
    But if you like good storytelling and characters and loved the first game might wanna skip this trash.

    In film it’s ok to switch protagonists or make an antagonist the main character. The problem with gaming is no one wants to play as a character who is actively killing or maiming the characters they loved from the previous game. It just doesn’t work and it seems cruel and unusual to play as a bodybuilder who has killed one character you loved and then as that bodybuilder you violently beat up another character you loved(in a fight that seems wildly outclassed in terms of physique) and then smash in the face of that character’s pregnant girlfriend. It’s utterly tone deaf and doesn’t work in any sense. The main takeaway and theme of the game is “murder is bad” yeah, we knew. You can’t take characters that were established and loved and mold them in to fit a theme and totally disregard them.

    Don’t play this game. Don’t support this game. It is character assassination all for the sake of subversion.    … Expand

Not a single character acts like they are supposed to, there is no satisfication, or conclusion to the story, character deaths are there for just shock value.

    Trailers included COMPLETELY MANIPULATED scenes: That scene where Joel grabs Ellie to tell her he won't let her do this alone? It's actually Jesse in the final game, Joel is long gone at that point.

    В техническом плане это плохо оптимизированная игра на ps4 (фатке). What a terrible story. druckmann takes our beloved characters from the first game and pisses all over them, even going so far as to animate himself as a character that spits on joel. for a new character and storyline that has no character development or goal. Graphics and acting are great but the story is so bad that I wanted to stop playing, especially while controlling the boring new character.
