And the thing about is some part of the game are actually enjoyable but there are characters in this game that you just dont give a rat left or right butt cheek about. It’s annoying whenever I have to play as Abby and help out Lev and Yarah, frustrating that I quit the game for a couple hours. It’s so boring!!!!… Expand

    What sets this game apart from so many others is the masterful story telling. It makes you care about the characters and their struggles in a way that very few other games manage to do.     What sets this game apart from so many others is the masterful story telling. It makes you care about the characters and their struggles in a way that very few other games manage to do. A big part of this is the phenomenal voice acting, but it's not just the voice acting. It's the incredible use of facial animation and well written dialogue. The characters are amazing at conveying emotion more so than any other game I've ever played. This one aspect makes this game special and a real standout for the way it pulls you into the story and makes you care about the characters and actually feel some of their emotions. The musical score in the background is top notch and works excellently to set the mood from moment to moment, changing to match the pace of the scene.

    The graphics are some of the best of the PS4. Everything looks beautiful. The attention to detail is stunning. There are so many little things that just add to the overall experience. The water looks amazing. The way rain streaks down windows and water flows over ledges. The way the tall grass sways, looks better than other games. The lighting effects and just the overall artistry in the game is impressive and adds to the immersion. I found myself often pausing just to look around the environment and take in the visuals and appreciate the details that went into this.

    The game is fun to play too. The control mechanics are not new or particularly innovative but they are refined and effective. This is primarily a stealth action game and in that capacity it functions very well. The shooting feels good and impactful. The melee is brutal and satisfying. The stealth works perfectly and the AI does a good job of providing a challenge. There are a few great scripted action sequences and amazing set piece moments that keep the gameplay interesting and prevent it from becoming repetitive. The set piece's really add a lot to the overall experience as well and that combined with the incredible story telling, voice acting, musical score and over all atmosphere of the game make this one of the best single player experiences in all of gaming.

    This is a AAA experience all the way. The story telling, voice acting, atmosphere, musical score and gameplay come together to create an immersive cinematic powerhouse of a game. Do not let mixed reviews dissuade you from playing this.    … Expand

The gameplay is very good, you can feel the power of the weapons, the force of your blows, then you have the graphics, excellent graphics, much better than TLoU 1. The story is fantastic, showing new characters, new points of view. Now let's talk about people who hate this game. We all love the first game in the series, this game is also a masterpiece. One of the problems that caused the large amount of negative reviews from users (not counting Joel's death) is that some of the people who played the game, not actually felt Abby's story. If in Abby`s storytelling you forget everything Ellie went through and focus on Abby, you will love the game. I love this game as it is, I wanted to teach us something besides revenge. "The hero of someone`s story... Can be the villain on someone else`s." I really recommend buying this game if you love adventure and action, you will have all that and more… Expand

    All you cats that are mad about the story are soft. This is one of the best stories of gaming. This is on par with some of the greatest movies of all time. This is a masterpiece.

The combat from hand to hand and shooting and sneaking mechanics is a blast. The Last of Us II is a game that I wanted to enjoy, but was not able to because I feel it is just a game that tries too hard and doesn't deliver what the fans wanted. My score is an overall 6/10, average at best, because I cannot deny it is without a doubt the most graphically incredible game for its generation of gaming. But the story is what holds it back from getting a higher score.

    The story falls short for me because of various reasons. The most glaring ones being that the game just re-hashes the same revenge plot three times over. It starts off with Abby and co going after Joel for revenge, which she gets. Then Ellie goes after Abby, which doesn't work out, but then after trying to essentially give up on it, she has a break down and goes after Abby again for revenge. Only, she never gets it. The game ends with what can only be seen as Ellie, I assume, forgiving Abbie, or reaching some kind of revelation that her revenge would mean nothing, so she just doesn't take it. Which is redundant as it makes the whole game utterly pointless and worthless in terms of the players effort.

    Other issues are the way you're forced to play as Abby, a character who, from what I can tell, a good chunk of the player base just did not like to play as. When you're forced to play as a character you don't enjoy or like, it kills your drive to want to see the game through, and this happened with me, but I pushed on because I had paid for the game and figured I may as well get my money's worth from it as well as what trophies I could.

    The worst part for me was where you were forced to play as Abby and fight against Ellie. This was not good for me because Ellie was really the only character I wound up liking throughout the game. At least a little. Even characters from the past game who return in Part II that I liked before, I didn't like in this game. Plus there's just wasted other characters. Ones who you spend so little time getting to know because they wind up dying, it makes their appearance utterly pointless, which is a shame for the effort that's gone into this game.

    The example I can give is when you're playing as Abby, and she returns to a home base, one of her friends unzips a body bag and she's horrified at who it is inside. But we don't hear the name being spoken. I can only assume, we, as the player, are already supposed to know, but I couldn't remember the name. I recognised the character as one I had seen before, but if there was a name, I just couldn't remember it, showing they had an insignificant impact for who they're meant to be.

    This continued on for me in the fact that all other characters I just couldn't bring myself to like or care about. And the game soon showed a clear problem with trying to push these shock factors into your face way too many times. By the time the game got to the point where the pregnant lady is accidentally killed by Ellie, I just stopped caring for the game altogether. Over all, by the time I got to the end, I felt the game ended on a stupidly empty and unnecessarily mysterious note, as well as it just dragged on for a bit too long for how little worth while story there really was. And then there was the whole big thing with a transgender character being in the game. I am all for the support and inclusion of them in anything, from video games and movies, but in The Last of Us Part II, it didn't make sense. The character of Lev is shown to be intelligent, but what I fail to understand is why, in a world where there's a fungus turning people into flesh eating infections mutants as well as murderous bandits and cannibals in the word along with crazy cults that Lev is a part of, why would they worry about being what gender they feel they are over surviving? It just didn't make any sense for me. It was a very well done character, but felt very out of place for the world of the game.

    As I said, the visuals are incredible, but the gameplay is just a spit shined version of the first game. Everything is similar, just nicer with a few new additions, like being able to go prone, shooting from being prone and the ability to dodge, counter attack, attack on the move and of course, jump, climb ropes and swing on them. That's pretty much it for the gameplay. The games A.I however is rather phenomenal and impressive. The fight sections were easily the best parts for me.

    I remember seeing SkillUp's pre-release review on YouTube and thinking it couldn't be as bad as he said it was, but honestly, it really was.

    For a game many waited around eight years for, what we expected was not even anywhere close to what was delivered. My trust in Neil Druckman has fallen significantly, and any excitement for future Naughty Dog games is now gone.

    It's worth one play through for the combat, visuals and trophies, but after that, it's not worth a lot at all. I feel it wasn't even worth the £40 I paid for it.

    A nice game, but falls short where it counts. The story. Again, 6/10. Average.    … Expand

Every main character from the first game is treated like garbage in this one, and acts like an idiot.     Im so dissapointed... this game is nothing but a bad joke. The Story was so terrible that for me it doesnt matter how good the graphics or the game play was. Sadly this Franchise is death for me. Its almost bad as the last season of games of thrones.

    This game is a think piece.there were moments I wasn’t sure about during gameplay but in the end I get the creator’s meaning.
    It’s a story that mirrors the gray area that is life...nothing is just black and white.

Naughty dog had the difficult task of surpassing The Last of Us 1 and amazingly so, it for sure found ways to improve on the first game in every way possible. Story, graphics, gameplay everything improved while still sticking on the original last of us style and atmosphere. Don't trust the bad reviews. This gameI really can't understand how this game got bad reviews. It is an epic game.     Best video game hands down I have ever played. The story is phenomenal just like the first game the emotion you feel while playing this is unbelievable. The gameplay is just amazing. The graphics are the best I have ever seen ever in a video game you will not regret buying this game trust me. 10/10

    Intense, emotionally rich story with philosophical topics. Stunning graphics even on PS4 Slim. Similar to Part I gameplay with few additional abilities which is great in my opinion.

Sure in the beginning I hated it too as she killed Joel. Then you play as her for almost half the game and towards the end I cared so much for the Abby that I prayed Ellie didn't kill Abby. For a game to make me like the villain and sympathize with her was great and a different thing naughty dog did. Yes Joel dying sucked and I was heartbroken about it and then you can see why Abby did it as she loved her dad and wanted retribution and overall she was a good person. This game was special because you played as the main guy and the villain and for me I wanted them both to survive which created moral dilemmas which was very difficult but in a good way. The game for is a masterpiece.… Expand

    Unbelievable graphics and gameplay. Is a very nice. But ... They turned the emotional and wonderful story of Last Of Us into hatred and propaganda. It was a pity. Also I hate you Druckmann.

I understand why the game got hate after Joel died, but we all knew it was going to happen. otherwise, the story was great with a lot of unexpected moments and twists which makes the game interesting. I still think the ending should be a multiple-choice to kill or let Abby. Graphics are 10/10 all the way throughout the game. But the thing that takes my score to 9 instead of 10 is the waste of 10 hours playing as Abby… Expand

É um ótimo jogo, não tão bom quanto o primeiro mas é excelente, a história é mais fraca e eu também acho que a Naughty Dog foi desleal com os fãs nós trailers mostrado que o Joel participaria da jornada novamente, mas morre de uma forma que nenhum fã aceita, pois não é o Joel ali, e o jogo ainda te força a jogar com a assassina dele por aproximadamente 9 horas, e o final é um pouco decepcionante. Mas é inegável o ato que eles alcançaram outro nível em expressões faciais, gameplay e gráficos. Tirando a maior parte da história, é sim um dos melhores games disponível pro Play4… Expand

    Cannot understand the negative reviews. This game is pure art. Crazy details, mature and intriguing plot, characters that you won't forget. Oh, almost forgot: perfect gameplay, always different and super interesting. This, together with PART 1, is THE GAME everyone should play (not for you kiddos, you won't understand it)

    This game is excellent, it easily surpasses the first TLOU in terms of script, direction, atmosphere, psychology of the characters, relationship between the characters.
    I highly recommend it, one of the best games ever.
    If the TLOU part III is of the same level, I will buy it with my eyes closed.

There's a lot to like; gorgeous graphics, great set pieces, flawless voice acting and sound design. The game lacks decent writing, has very bland combat and its length is greatly unjustified. Abby's father was a stupid NPC in the first one, who the **** is Jerry? where his background? His relationship with his daughter, their past, where did he come from? We know he's the surgeon of the first one and Abby's father and that's it lol. How can I relate to a story characters this way? Technically it's the best game I ever played and also the most beautiful, but that's it. They say that 70% of the team from the first game leave (including Bruce Straley) maybe this will help to understand even more why this game was disappointing. Unlike Neil Druckmann and Halley Gross, the actors did an extraordinary job, too bad that it doesn't save the mistakes. The game has received many awards, I fear that some of them "disguise" the mistakes that were made. The Last of Us part 2 is not as good as you think.     The game is a masterpiece. One of the best games I’ve ever played. The gameplay is interesting and the story is written very very well without telling us who are the good ones and who are the bad ones. There is a lot to think about. No bugs, fps stabil, the graphics for a 7 year old system are great. Definitely deserved to be the game of the year 2020!

    This game is amazing. I can't grasp how they can make a story as compelling as this. It breaks all the black/white cliches in storytelling and makes you feel for both sides of the conflict. I wish people play the game first and then write a review here, but I guess this is wishful thinking.

    This game is a masterpiece, not only among games but all the mediums.

    It looks like a lot of players can not appreciate the story in this game. For me it feels like 2 games merged together and loosing my character progress halfway the game. Maybe the game is a bit slow or too long but I enjoyed every moment of it.

    Excellent graphics on PS4 pro, smooth animations and transitions of music. Different play styles possible.

Сперва играть не хотел из за отзывов других пользователей сети, но все же не жалею сейчас о времени которое провел в TLOU2. Как уже ранее писали, моя жизнь не будет прежней теперь. Это пожалуй единственная игра на сегодняшний день которая вызвала у меня такие эмоции. Я словно потерял человека которого знал всю жизнь! Хотел бы я что то в ней изменить? Пожалуй только уход одного из ГГ! Но дерьмо случается. В реальной жизни все было бы где то так же. Ни один герой вселенной TLOU не заслужил такой участи. Разве что отец Эбби, который готов был пойти на все ради вакцины. Но я уверен на 100% что у него бы все равно ничего не вышло! Я очень был рад тому что Элли не стала тварью и в конце задумалась, о том, что он не хотел бы видеть ее такой.
    Н. Дракман все же гений и у него получилось. Он логично закончил эту историю. Я не разочарован, скорее подавлен (, 8 пальцев из 10.

    Cons: story is what I disliked most. It’s such a spit in the face of Joel and Ellie. This game tries to make you sympathise with the enemy and I think it fails.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I bought this game having replayed LoU remastered and ignoring all the bad press about Ellie - you know she's gay from LoU expansion and its irrelevant (even if her romance is rammed down your throat).
    Potentially some of the greatest gameplay on the ps4 with amazing encounters is ruined by forcing you to play the comically beefed up enemy Abby for half the game.
    I know the writers were going for a Jamie Lannister-style turnaround, but it doesn't work, you still want her dead and I ended up rushing through this part of the game to get back to being Ellie, even though there were some really cool set pieces as Abby. Did they even do any honest user testing? The ending was also very unsatisfactory and made the whole final journey pointless. Potentially the greatest game of this console let down by writing trying to be too clever. Only bit I enjoyed in second half of game was launching Abby off buildings/ losing to Ellie on purpose in their theatre showdown.    … Expand

It left such a horrible taste in my mouth that after completing this, I didn't play another game for more than a month. I completely lost interest in gaming for so many days, that was the extent of frustration I had with this game.

    Now, you have no idea how much it sucks for me to say all of this because the original Last of Us game holds a dear place in my heart, it is one of my favourite games of all time and I've been dying to play Part II ever since. As you can see, my patience was rewarded with something so incompetent that it completely fails to capture the soul of its predecessor in nearly every aspect. Instead, it acts as a clone which tries to bask in the glory of its predecessor while making a mockery out of it.

    If Naughty Dog's motive was just to make loads of money and completely divide their loyal fanbase, then congrats! They did a fantastic job, they created a typical blockbuster in terms of total sales. However, if their purpose was to recreate that magic from the first game, then it is like I mentioned earlier, they screwed up.

    This is an ENORMOUS DOWNGRADE from the previous entry, it doesn't deserve to be a sequel to The Last of Us and that's why I'm giving it the lowest possible rating.

    Naughty Dog treated this sequel like a new IP and experimented way too much with it. They changed things that didn't need to change. The base material was completely altered. Moreover, a certain new character is forced upon us, or more precisely, shoved down our throats.

    We wanted more of The Last of Us, we wanted more of Joel and Ellie and we were deprived of that.    … Expand

    - why this game is so brutal?? Is it really important to tell a great story and showing killing people in such disgusting way?? It's like a cheap trick to attract.

    - LGBT stuff in the production. I don't mind and no problem in generall, but why is it so huge here?? Playing this game I had a feeling that someone pushing me this directly to the throat. 50% of the soldiers are women, lesbians, strongwomen and for God's sake - pregnant women jumping on the rope and fighting with zombies ?! This is nonesens! Who wrote this scenario - 22 years old developer ??

    - Finally, Tommy visit Ellie to break her sweet farm story and forcing her to finish the revenge... Really??
    Please.... such things not happening in real life! It's like a: "You have to kill Abby as you promised!",
    "I would do that, but I am disabled now". "Leave your partner and baby and finish the job..." Please.....

    Don’t think it deserved all the bad reviews I loved the game.It had some really good survival aspects and the combat was great.I also really liked how I got to see the “villain” of the main character side.The collectibles were pretty cool especially the uncharted reference.Overall game did not disappoint it’s really down to the person that plays it.(And I got it for 30 bucks)
