Quick run through, manly looking girl kills straight white male, lesbian goes for revenge, manly girl finds friendship in trans boy(girl to boy), then another straight male gets killed, another straight white male left unable to fight. Unable to decide if team lesbian or team trans should win, they decide we will take away the lesbians ability to do 2 in the goo 1 in the poo and let them all live because LGBTQ agenda plot armor. This game literally had some good parts but the clear female empowerment agenda is in this game. All men are jerks and bigots, and woman are the best. The 1st game was a masterpiece, this game just takes a load all over it. And no, no one wanted to play as the person that killed their main character from the last game, that is such a stupid idea. I get they wanted us as an audience to see the enemies point of view, but I'm sorry, I don't want to hurt or chase after the people I grew to love in the first game. Soooo, thanks for that... however, I did enjoy the idea of what happens when you become consumed in revenge you will end up with nothing. As Ellie, Literally lost everything, and was unable to have her closure with Joel because of Abby, but she had her chance, didn't take her revenge (because plot armor) that costed her to lose everything. So leaves the question, what's the bloody point of this game?… Expand

    Woke AF trash. Agenda-based games are not why I play games. There is enough garbage in the news *every* *single* *day*. Nobody needs or wants this in their games.

    Naughty Dog has fallen so far. Such a shame, really.

    I did everything I could to avoid the spoilers, and the very little that did catch my attention, I made a conscious decision to ignore it. I even told myself that there was no way they could be true.

    I blamed trolls for spreading fake news, and yet, I can't believe how wrong I was.... 4 hours in, and I had to face the music. Everything they said was true. This is arguably the worst game of this generation, and yet... conversely the most beautiful. I'm not even sure what they were thinking. Just a huge wasted opportunity to create something truly iconic and memorable.

It is clear that it is more at the service for a political and ideological purpose than a plausible sequel. So my vote is for the visual and artistic quality at the expense of so much human work "crunch"

    I'm not a huge fan of the gameplay from the first game, I thought it was ok, but the story was the one thing that kept me going. The relationship between Ellie and Joel was so beautiful that it literally made me fight through it all to see its conclusion.

    This sequel takes everything I loved from the first game and throws it in the trash by the first couple of hours. The gameplay is pretty much the same as the first game, but this time the story is not interesting enough to make me want to push on. I did it in spite of that, hoping for some redemption, but overall the game is just utterly depressing and violent.

    There's been a lot of controversy about this game, about its characters, about "pushing the narrative". I've never cared about a characters sexual orientation or anything like that. When I play a game I want a good story, some hope, good characters and in this case, I wanted redemption. But I got none of it from this game. I was just left depressed and angry. If this was the developers intention, then fine, they succeeded, but there was nothing to take away from it all. The journey wasn't interesting, the gameplay is somewhat copy/paste from the previous, the violence and torture is overwhelming, and the characters was one dimensional, uninteresting and unlikable.

    I can't for the life of me understand how journalists are giving this game such raving reviews, it baffles me. It's like they never played the first game. This is a sequel, its story from the first game matters. This should have been a seperate titled game, far away from the legacy of The Last of Us, and I wouldn't have wasted my money on it.

    I would give this game a 0/10, but because aparently it's beeing treated as review bombing I'm forced to give it a better score.    … Expand

You can find meaning in the suffering that will help you when real life gets real bad, as it tends to do.     Despite the early leaks I still went into this game hoping that Naught Dog didn't completely break what I loved about the first game; turns out I was bitterly disappointed. Everything I loved about TLoU was butchered beyond belief (all within the first three or so hours), and the amount of hard-left political grandstanding was extremely immersion breaking. It's like the devs completely forgot what made TLoU special and interesting in the first place - although, I'm led to believe that this complete change in tone and direction was, unfortunately, intentional. The first game had nuance and characters which made you invested in the story, but there's none of that to be found in the sequel.

    It should be noted that the presentation is excellent. The artists at ND are absolute wizards at environmental art, and they are to be commended for that, but the gameplay doesn't improve greatly and it plays almost identically to the first game. Aside some minor traversal mechanics which honestly add nothing but padding, ND haven't improved or iterated in any meaningful ways.

    Overall I'm bitterly disappointed with TLoU2. The best part about the original was the relationship between Joel and Ellie, and both of those things are gone. What's replaced those characters are thoroughly unlikable shells which serve nothing more than to push a horribly written narrative, full of explotiation and plot holes. I refunded this game after completing it in roughly 26 hours, and now I'm writing this.

    Do yourself (and the industry) a favour and skip it. Watch some reviews. Read the millions of comments. Caveat emptor.    … Expand

It feels like watching a garbage sitcom without the laugh track, without some external force trying to MAKE you feel a certain way it is boring and dull.

    The whole Joel thing is pointless and just for the reaction because they wanted to try and force the player to more engage with the game emotionally. It not only does not work it undoes all the growth as a character that Joel did in the first game, while simultaneously having him go against his whole character and being WAY to trusting for no reason at all other than PLOT SAYS TO TRUST!

    I will give them 1 point for mostly keeping the combat of the 7 year old game they put the skin of on this hot mess of a game.    … Expand

    How could Sony have greenlighted this garbage?! HOW!!!??? This game is so appalling and frustrating it should have never been made. Rabid far-left SJWism has destroyed a once great game developer and it is a shame to see.

    Is it possible to get a refund for a digital version? I played ca. 1h and I wont play it anymore. I dont like it, it feels like a fraud. GFX is great, but the story is boring and its not fun at all. When I PLAY a GAME I want at least a lil bit of fun, otherwise it feels like work... I have no interest in playing Neil Drukmann's terrible fanficiton fantasy. I have no interest in watching the characters i love from the first game all of the sudden act like complete morons in part 2. I have no interest in being forced to play as the character that brutally murders the character i grew to love from part 1. I have no interest in playing a game that is trying to check diversity boxes before making good characters. I have no interest in playing through a 25-30 hour narrative that accomplishes NOTHING. I have no interest in supporting a company that runs a manipulative marketing campaign that outright LIES to their consumers. I have no interest in supporting a company that abuses copyright policies to try and take away the livelihoods of content creators just for talking about their game.

    Bottom line, this is a terrible sequel to what i consider one of the best games ever made. Terrible enough that in my mind, it no longer exists and The Last of Us is and forever will be a standalone title in my eyes.    … Expand

    To be honest, this game have some pretty cool moment. But it also have boring gameplay, sjw bull crap, some shady practice by the devs to limit criticism (dmca abuse, deleting bad review, stealing from artist).
    If you wanna try it for yourself, I recommend renting or buying this game used so naughty dog don’t get paid...

    Great graphics. Great animations. A lot of hard work. BUT! The writers have a special place, along with the writers of Mass effect 3. Bad people. Very evil. And please stop deleting my comments and those people who are unhappy with such an abomination.

For me anyway it was the banter between Joe and Eli and it just being a awesome story with amazing characters. The first game has such heart and made it feel truly special. There’s a little of this at times in the last of us part 2 like the flash back at the museum. Otherwise all the TLOUP2 is, is a revenge story. A revenge story with a lot of far left propaganda shoehorned in which is not my idea of a good time. I could care less if someone is gay, LGBTQ or whatever to each their own. Most people could care less who someone screw all that matters is if you are a good person but when politics be it far left or far right are shoehorned into a game they will only destroy half of your Fanbase if you push them as hard as this game does. I will not be buying any more naughty dog games!… Expand

    It's weird seeing the critics scores so high compared to users. Unfortunatley many critics can be bought off, and try to trick us into purchasing a bad game. I think if Naughty Dogs whole purpose was to subvert our expectations, then I think they were successful. But besides subverting our expectations, they should be putting out a good game. Unfortunately if you were a fan of the firstIt's weird seeing the critics scores so high compared to users. Unfortunatley many critics can be bought off, and try to trick us into purchasing a bad game. I think if Naughty Dogs whole purpose was to subvert our expectations, then I think they were successful. But besides subverting our expectations, they should be putting out a good game. Unfortunately if you were a fan of the first story, the second story isn't for you - it's for a specific subset of people and mostly unenjoyable. Maybe they could make it up with gameplay? No, it plays like a game that came out 10 years ago compared to other modern games. I wish Naughty Dog would have just made a part 2, rather than an agenda filled mess. Please pass on this game and don't give them motivation to do this again.… Expand

Im not hating the Ellies sexual orientation beucase was established in the DLC, there`s no problem. But how I trainned man like Joel trust someone from nothing, theres no explanation, also saying your name. Also the narrative choices were not the best decisions. Very Very desappointed.     Just finished it. It's bad. It's a terrible revenge story that has forgotten all character building from part 1. The gameplay is as dated as the first game, but the writing is one of the worst I've seen in a game without even having to acknowledge the political agenda. Watch it on twitch if you have to, but don't waste your money.

    This is because I take real pity on all the game world designers, graphic artists, animators, sound creators, etc. They did a great job with this, as they did with the first game.     It is also part of this bad story that they changed the personality of those we got to know in TLOU1. Changed without explaining how or why It all seems to be to force the narrative for this sorry excuse for a story.
    Part of the story also reeks of woke liberal nonlogical behavior.

    Not only does this game not give you any sense of catharsis for going through the barely evolved game play structure introduced from the last game, but it spits on the characters that were developed so thoroughly with care in the last game.     I really tried to like this game, but played The Last of Us Part 1 way back during it's release on the PS3. and waited a long time hoping for part 2 and this is just heartbreaking.     I entered the world of Part II totally open-minded, but the inconsistency of it does not allow for a good experience, there is not the charm of the first title here.
    I hope from the bottom of my heart that the entire team of developers of this game, together with Mr. Druckmann, will reflect and listen to the fans' appeal.

    A bigger problem than the game, or the divisive issues it tries to instill in us, is the media and critics and how they prop up content like this and straight up lie to our faces for their own selfish reasons. We can't forget that ultimately they work for us, the critics and the developers, they work for the people who buy their products. Do you think critics are buying these products? No, they get it for free and just shill their products so that we buy them.

    The truth is, if we really wanted to get our point across there is only one way. We have to ignore them and simply act as if they don't exist. Even hating the products and spreading outrage is enough for these cretins to continue doing things like this since outrage sells. Imagine if they release the game, no one complained, and at the same time no one bought it. That would really be the only way to stop these things from happening.

    Looks and plays good. That’s about it. It leaves you with a very bad taste and if you were a big fan of the first part it will simply disgust you. I played it twice and the second time was even worse. I took the disc out just before the final battle because it’s completely useless, ugly and ridiculous. I’m already giving the game away. I don’t want to touch it again, no thank you!

    Gameplay 4/10. Nothing new.

    I don't understand how anyone likes this game. Sure it looks good. I guess if you turn it on, and never go any farther than 5 seconds of "oooooh pretty graphics" then you could give this a 10/10. So yeah that must be what most critics did. Me on the other hand, I'm almost done with it and can already say avoid this game if you can.

    The game completely destroyed Ellie and Joel's personality from TLOU1. If it was only a new story with new characters would be ok at best. Too many flashbacks and shallow plot twists. Game tries to shove down your throat a character that you don't want to play with just to make you feel sorry for her.

    The talent at naughty dog have been cast out. Story has been written inconsistently. Story seems to be placed out of order to purposely miss those emotional notes. Some of these characters dont even seem human. Evidently all the talent seems to be nonexistant in this once great company.

    I get it - post apo USA (because USA, Russia and Ukraine long time ago are only countries that exists in the world), destroyed cities, lack of supplies, lack of healthy population etc.
    But God damn it. Story is really dumb - people just fight with each other and kill, not only infected, but healthy and normal people as well. For no real reason. As a main character you are FORCED to kill in most cases - seriously, what the hell? Even in games, where you were a soldier (like Crysis) or gangsta (like gta series) there were at least options to NOT KILL EVERYTHING IN SIGHT? 19 yo girl has more bloodlust and hunger for killing, than some psycho freak like Trevor from GTA5.

    World itself is so unlogical - cities are being vanished from healthy people for around 20 years. Yet there are still fuel in tanks of the cars, power generators still runs after 2-3 pushes of starter (despite being in one place for so many years). Not to even mention closed and linear sections, made there because...I don't really know why. Only the first part with horsing around in Seattle looks and feels good - just like games in 2020 should look like. Don't tell me that You cannot put open world into 2020 game, when you can do that to improve gameplay.

    Characters? Very shallow and just boring. They propose next to ANYTHING, that they could do to memorise them. Ok, maybe 2 scenes might stay in your mind, but both of them are hard connected with sex, so I'm not sure, if this is the way to do so. Besides that - npcs and playable characters doesn't offer anything, even above average (not to mention good level or top-tier lvl). They are expressionless, they are boring, they cannot even say something, that could be remembered later, than 20 minutes from now on.

    Story itself just sucks. Ok, I get it, after 5 virtual years many things could have changed, got it. But there are so many different (and better) ways to tell this, than stuff that we have in this game. I got lost before half of the game, where we do have to redo past, and when we have to focus on current time and current set of events. It's is poorly mixed, if you want to have good retrospection, look into Max Payne 3 for example - non forced, swift and quick transition between current timeline and the past, short explanation and back to (hi)story we go. Here? Some weird and unnecessary pauses, some minigames in qte style (why?), longer pauses and then some magic timewrap.

    Next issue - motivation of the characters. It is stupid, nothing to say more would make me feel better about this. Ellie is simply very naive and dull. And this was supposed to be DEEP GAME, THAT GIVE YOU UNFORGETABLE EMOTIONS, WHEN YOU PLAY IT. After hearing most of the jokes I got feeling to leave my desk and go for a walk, that's how poor they are. Most "thinked through" decisions makes me think about the same stuff, but this time even for longer period without game itself. As far as I can understand some reasons to go out and travel (or maybe to seek for something), I totally don't get the whole conflict stuff in this game. People simply kill each other for no good reason. Young adult become uber blood-lusted killer, because someone killed her friend. Ok, got it, revenge tastes good. But what's the idea of revenge, if your only objective is to kill everything in sight?

    Lack of logic in this game is terrific. Really, much older titles had npcs with better motivation - Witcher, Kingdome Come, whole Dark Souls series, not to even mention some proper storytelling games like TLOU1, This war of mine, Walking dead etc. Most of them had some bigger and smaller issues, but here we punched in the face with idiocity on scale, that I haven't seen in a videogame for a long period of time.

    I don't know, maybe I'm just too stupid for this kind of experience, but I just feel more and more retarded when I watch it and play it. That way of storytelling was ok-ish 10 years ago, we could forgive that 20 years ago, but if games wants to be in 1 line with movies and books, they simply have to be better (more logical and more reasoned) than this. Game looks nice (not super, but graphical side is not something, that you should be ashamed of), music is ok (nothing very good, but I guess being uniritating also counts). Atmosphere would be amazing, if only the game and characters weren't so dumb - it really has got potential. But due to irritating caps for ammo (without upgrade you cannot take more, than 12 pistol rounds and 3 medkids, which is a joke, character WEARS GODDAMN BACKPACK), it is boring more often than satysfying.

    Even the whole lesbian story isn't hurting me that much, as lack of proper gamedev do. They copied old solutions, pack them into nice package, prepaid reviews and voila, this should be great game. But it isn't. Don't waste your time.    … Expand

    nice graphics, bad narrative. didn't enjoy at all. It was coold to stay around and check the scenes as they're technically cool but I don't pay that much to look at a nice scene. I pay the money for entertainment and the entertainment wasn't there at all.

Но есть вазы или флаги которые можно разбить или сжечь. Игра напичкана клеше. Вы видите грузовик под которым можно пролезть наверно кто-то нападет когда из него влезете. Прислушиваетесь некого нет. Пролазите под ним и баз на вас нападает зомби. Как неожиданно. И таких моментов море. Разработчики просто не умеют делать стримеры поэтому вы будете зевать и смеяться над их попытками. В одном моменте мне так все надоело, что я шел просто и стрелял во всех зомборей. Играл я кстати на среднем. И когда всех убил я начал ходить и лутать локацию. Когда все обыскал я пошел к сюжетной двери, которая открывалась очень медленно и в друг, когда я ее начал открывать на меня полетели зомбори накал страстей, съедят или нет вырвусь или нет. Думаете я так себя чувствовал? Нет я думал какого они полезли, когда начал открывать дверь а не когда я тут гранаты кидал и из дробаша стрелял. Или, по-вашему открывающаяся дверь громче оружия и гранат? В игре кстати рандомно лут. Что неимоверно бесит. Я пользовался револьвером, а пистолет не тратил. Так вот мне падали патроны только на пистолет который и так под завязку. Вы скажете, но у Эли сумка за спиной не ужели она не может взять хотя бы на один патрон по больше. Нет. Игра искусственно создает ощущение отсутствия патрон. И это сильно бесит. Например, встречаете врагов они в вас стреляют как будто у них тонна патрон. И они не кончаются. Вы такие ага и загружаетесь с контрольной точки и убиваете их по одном тихо и незаметно. И у них вдруг не одного патрона нет. Почему? А потому что надо создать ощущение безысходности и отсутствие боеприпасов. А сюжет — это вообще. Вы убили 200 человек. А Эли где-то в середине жалуется, что она видишь пытала девушку что бы получить информацию. Которая той еще мразью была. Да мне побоку. Любому было бы побоку. Она же чуть тебя не грохнула. Была бы она удачливей она бы тебя забила и еще бы радовалась этому. Кто так сюжет то строит? Сюжет так же создает тонну вопросов. Например, в игре говориться только один врач мог сделать вакцину и его убил Джоил. Это вы видели еще в первой части, если играли конечно. А почему только он? Или это он создал вирус? В первой части говорится что это цикады. И вроде бы тогда все сходится. НО нет. Тогда зачем они пытались вакцину сделать? Карты большие, но пустые и скучные. Делать там вообще нечего. Много припасов вам не дают собрать. А больше там и делать то нечего. .… Expand

    So I've been playing The Last of Us Part ll at my pace consuming everything properly and OOF - It hurts me because I've never played a game which is such technical marvel, peak of PS4's performance as of now, yet the story structure seems like it's written by a nuthead kid's understanding of what it means to be 'deep' or 'dark'.
    And mind you, it's absolutely nothing related to the LGBTQ representation etc. - those are more natural and digestible parts of the story.
    It's about the plothole-riddled mess of a story which gives up on itself halfway and you're left feeling meaningless about this 'personal vendetta'.
    You should play TLOU2 once ONLY if you don't give a damn about character development, story writing, structuring of the story for building a bond with the player and VERY MUCH visible story inconsistencies. Apart from these, the game is **** masterpiece, which is where it breaks me, you go through these amazing levels, tense gameplay moments, gorgeous vistas, phenomenal sound design experience, feeling better and expecting better out of the game only to be kicked back by the story, into realising how mediocre it is.
    The entire story by far reeks of a very badly directed Netflix show.
    The character development is the poorest, Joel doesn't feel like Joel, Ellie isn't Ellie, the side characters like Jesse, Owen, Mel etc are way better developed and have more dimensions to them than the leads.
    The person who actually needs introduction first - Abby, is kept from player's understanding for majority of the game when she's the one who should be introduced and connected to the player first.

    It's like Neil Druckmann forget how to write and direct after Bruce Straley and Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog and now you see how much his stuff is worth, straight nose-dive faceplanted on the ground from the success of Uncharted 4.

    And their marketing did a piss poor job by setting up fake moments in trailer which NEVER happen in the actual game to reel-in customers with false advertising.

    Oh and a note, if you're buying this game because you love The Last Of Us Part l, please don't, you're coming in to see how a person with zero story writing and direction skills wastes the talent and time of a studio full of RAD developers, designers, artists, animators, voice actors to fulfill his broken vision of the game.
    Huge respect to Naughty Dog production studio for the technical marvel of a game, it's sad to see how just one apple in this amazing basket ruins the entire package.

    This game will stand as a testimony of how even with the most state-of-the-art tech, phenomenal graphics and intriguing gameplay, your game will fall flat if the story ain't worth it.

    This game is a spit in the face of first part fans face, all greatness of that game has gone, i feel betrayed and cheated. Naughty dog ruin the franchise with a terrible bad story and the worst ending i've ever seen in videogames history. Good bye Naught dog, i will never buy a game yours ever.

    Nobody will probably read this, so I will just write what is important: This is one of the worst games ever made and completely destroys everything built up in TLOU. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

    Another "game" made as an excuse to push the political agenda of the radical left.. what has happened to the once innocent hobby of gaming??

    I have been a gamer for almost 40 years. This game made want to stop playing games. It had a few cool moments and great graphics but is ruined by too many problems. Awkward, clunky controls, for one. The game had trouble handling multiple enemies (screen would jump to kill screen out of nowhere, especially with dogs). It felt like it was rushed to market with bugs left in it. ThereI have been a gamer for almost 40 years. This game made want to stop playing games.     The game play was fantastic, but I didn’t play it for that.

    I hated the story with every fibre of my being, and I wish we had the option to kill Abby. I don’t care that she was tortured, I liked Lev but I didn’t care about him either. I hated Abby and the way she was contrived. Worst story out of Naughty Dog, ever.

I enjoyed the gameplay of the first game a lot and Part 2 has pretty much the same gameplay which is a big plus -    I am a very big fan of The Last of Us and I waited seven years for the sequel.     However...
    Just like in the first game, The Last of Us Part 2's main drawing force should be the story. I regret to inform that the story in this game is absolutely terrible. There is a lack of respect for the characters from the first game, the ones that I loved very much, like Joel and Ellie. The story is a basic revenge plot with a modern "subversion of expectations" at the end which I didn't enjoy at all.

    Good graphics and decent gameplay cant save this absolute dumpster fire. If you're a fan of the original, STAY AWAY from this! You'll be extremely disappointed.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
