    Its a beautiful game top tier graphics, the gameplay mechanics are great, 2 things that ND knows how to do perfectly, however... being a singleplayer focused game... the story was disappointing, the characters were easily forgettable and there were several inconsistencies. Compared to the first TLOU, its almost an insult that we got this: "fanfiction with huge budget turned into game" as aIts a beautiful game top tier graphics, the gameplay mechanics are great, 2 things that ND knows how to do perfectly, however... being a singleplayer focused game... the story was disappointing, the characters were easily forgettable and there were several inconsistencies. Compared to the first TLOU, its almost an insult that we got this: "fanfiction with huge budget turned into game" as a sequel to the legendary title that TLOU was. I still want to see more from ND, but TLOU Part II is not nearly as good as some other titles from the studio, straight up disappointing, overrated. Its like a book with the most beautiful cover you have seen, but once you start reading it... 3/10.… Expand

TLOU2 is the perfect depiction of what it’s like to climb Mount Everest, only for the rock underneath your feet to give in as you’re a couple of steps away from the summit. After 7 gruelling years of waiting, hoping, praying that the game comes out quicker and that I can continue to experience the immersive storyline that was so masterfully created between Ellie and Joel and the rest of the infected world in the first game, all that excitement faded after the first hour of the game. The way in which Joel was brutally killed seems, in all honesty, like the biggest dick move in the world. Moreover, the whole plot is based around how Joel’s reckless murder sprees from the first game are now coming back to haunt him. Sure, he killed Abby’s dad and numerous other people, but to have Abby seek revenge, murder Joel with cold blood and then instigate a 30 hour back-and-forth of non stop killing on both her end, as well as Ellie’s, is probably the most **** up thing I’ve ever experienced in a video game. “Our actions have consequences!”, the story screams, as you continue to murder either Abby’s friends or Ellie’s companions all the way to the very end, when you’re supposed to be faced with your enemy and finally end the charade. Guess what? That doesn’t happen!! In hopes of (probably) creating another cash-grab mock GOTY, Naughty Dog decided to plaster a **** up “Yeah, I’ll let you live even though you don’t deserve to” at the end of the game, leaving most players feeling frustrated, unsatisfied and with a burning desire to set their consoles ablaze. I was, am and will continue to be the biggest advocate for TLOU. The first game (including the “Left Behind” DLC) was surely one of the greatest video games to hit the market in the last 20 years. To build up so much hype around the sequel, only for its most redeeming quality to be the flashback Ellie has of her and Joel at the museum, is absolute **** The only reason I’m giving this game a 2 is because i actually enjoyed those memories more than the entire game. That and the graphics, which I have nothing bad to say about. But the rest of the game’s aspects? The frantic timeline? The exaggerated links between certain characters? The lack of backstory for more than 3/4 of the new characters? The imbalance between the two protagonists’ gameplay? The fact that the virus has continued to morph and spread and somehow, we still don’t get to understand how or why that really happened? The game has so many twists and turns and in the most embarrassingly done manner, that it’s safe to say all fans of the first game could’ve piled up their ideas for a sequel in a top hat, mixed them up, drawn them out at random and the outcome would’ve been a million times better than whatever the **** this is.

    The Last of Us Part 2 fails to portray characters in a realistic or likable way. A large chunk of game play fails to solidly create a connection with the villain, or make them likable. The game slaps the fan base in the face and spits on them early and does not stop throughout the game. Everything that made the first game amazing is either missing or blatantly thrown away. The only saving grace of this game is the physical act of playing it is not aggravating as the control scheme is smooth and well made. There is nothing this game excels at except bringing people together in hatred for it. I really only think playing the first game, then playing this one will explain why the critic review is so high while player scores are split between extremely high and extremely low.… Expand

    Tal como nos tiene acostumbrados Playstation , una pelicula excelete con muy buenos actores pero de videojuego esto tiene poco y nada, una historia bastante ridicula que se escapa de lo que fue la primera parte, diálogos adolescentes y sin sentidos intentando ser inclusivos. Te recomiedo que veas este ''videojuego'' por youtube ya que los juegos de playstation estàn enfocadosTal como nos tiene acostumbrados Playstation , una pelicula excelete con muy buenos actores pero de videojuego esto tiene poco y nada, una historia bastante ridicula que se escapa de lo que fue la primera parte, diálogos adolescentes y sin sentidos intentando ser inclusivos. Te recomiedo que veas este ''videojuego'' por youtube ya que los juegos de playstation estàn enfocados principalmente en su historia, una vez que la sabes ya no tienen sentido y pierden totalmente su valor. En cuanto a la jugabilidad, Sony no innova en nada en este punto, si deseas jugar algo de acciòn te recomiendo un Gears5 o algún Doom que si saben hacer bien su trabajo en este punto.

    One Year later I still have a very bad feeling about this game, the story is painful for me, it went from something really good to being so bad. The gameplay is very cool and good, i enjoyed it but the story is very very very disappointing. I feel very broken hearted on how they decided to take this story arc for the part 2.

    Graphics are good but I found this game to be a disappointment. I wish I never pre ordered and this is the last time I ever will pre order. The story is poorly paced and I found it difficult to find the characters likable in any way given what happens early in the plot with some main characters.

    Ultimately, I purchased the game because of the relationship between Ellie and Joel. The marketing intentionally misled us and made it appear that the game was going to be exactly that but it was the opposite.

    If you enjoyed the first game then liking the sequel will be a coin toss at best.    … Expand

    The game story is very very poor, a huge amount of flashbacks that suck, and the characters choices don't make any sense.
    A very bad game.
    The only thing that is enjoyable in this game is the stealth and action scenes, rather that this absolute garbage.

    If there was any overhyped game I have played, it's this one. The first game was good, excellent story in a world I loved exploring. But there's so little of that excitement or exploration of a game world here, as there is nothing new here. Killing off a main character quite early on is never a good move. Bought this game upon release now never picked it up again after the first play through. Not even worth selling as it’s now going on eBay brand new and sealed for 7 quid. On the plus side it does make a good coaster

    El juego solo tenía que hacer 1 cosa bien y lo arruino, solo tenía que darnos una clásica historia de venganza y redención pero no, nos entregaron una historia con la protagonista forzada a tomar un camino innecesario, sin eso la historia pudo haber funcionado mejor pero no era lo único negativo.     It's a great game on some aspects, but when the story does not make sense, when there's so many easy to read manipulative narrative techniques to enforce you to feel things, non-sens events happening to help the plot continuing to live, it's just non-immersive, non interesting. They even modificate things in TLOU 1 remake for the plot to have more sense in this useless sequel. Even using the word "sequel" is not right, it's more like a bad spin-off, they even used fake commercials to trick the player into buying this game. I regret spending my money, and my time on this ego-trip from the writter, who believe he's the only one creator of TLOU franchise. And we are lucky he's not, because TLOU 1 is a great piece of art. This is just a constant disapointment, easy and lazy storytelling, bad characters development, bad pacing, bad sequences, I mean, how can a flashback into a flashback can be consider a great "storytelling" ?

    Great respect to the devs though, that made great graphics, that might be the best on PS4 that I've played. Gameplay got no real new interesting features, just melee combat feels better.
    I feel a little diaspointed with the OST as I expected more from Gustavo Santaolalla, who made a better OST in the first one. Thanks to him, the first opus had a real identity, here it feels just okay. Nothing to be rememered.

LOL but if fall flat in their face cause they are a reused asset that look the same,.. they force you to play with dogs with Abby and force you to kill Dogs with Ellie..

    and the ending is extremely laughably stupid .. killing 19 people out of 20 and sparing 1 doesn't redeem anything its pointless and stupid... and the scene is naughty DOGSHiiiT
    imagine if John Wick after killing everyone, finally found the man who killed his dog lying on the ground helpless, then John help him up and give him a Car, but then he realize he wants revenge, so he pulls him out and fight him but then the guy somehow amputate Johns leg but John grab the gun... but John refuse to shoot and let him go cause he got a flashback about the dog... thats how they determine a 10/10 Masterpiece ..

    and dont say "its intentional" or "meant that way" cause you can say that to anything... If Gordon Ramsay is screaming at you roasting your dish, you cant just say "that's the point of the dish, its meant to be bad" ... LOL both the game and people who defend it are equally stupid.    … Expand

    This is the worst game Ive played this year. stupidest **** plot, dumb as **** AI and the gameplay it self is about as fun and engaging as combing knots out of your pubes. 0/10 go **** yourself.

    Positive things first, the gameplay is similar to the first part, they even improved the gameplay by alot. Sneaking around enemies is way more fun and the fight system has also been upgraded.
    But the thing what ruinedthe game for me is the story. The story is so bad I cant even describe my disappointment in words. So many plotholes and    To say that I am disappointed is an understatement.

    A cautious man just walked into a room with strangers and got killed?
    Then his daughter started revenge but finally forgive the killer? Wow that's really impressive.

    Amazing environments, animations, audio, accessibility features, pretty decent voice acting, passable gameplay mechanics. Absolutely abhorrent story & characters, the focal point of the game. Can't even begin to think how this happened, especially as a sequel to the excellent Last Of Us Part 1. Real shame.

Toda a história construída para Ellie e Joel foram abandonadas, sendo o inteligente senhor que não confia nem na própria sombra para um bobalhão e morreu de forma alheia por um erro que jamais cometeria no primeiro jogo. O jogo não é focado nos zumbis e muito menos numa gameplay, as bossfights do primeiro jogo NÃO EXISTEM na sequência, uma mecânica de tiro qualquer, nada de grande. O jogo escancaradamente segue uma óbvia pauta, obviamente, não se deve proibir os desenvolvedores de colocarem pautas atuais, só que é vergonhoso ver a história e cutscenes perdendo muita qualidade por conta de alienação ideológica. Os momentos de tensão, na sua grande maioria de vezes, é desnecessário e não inclui no desenvolvimento dos personagens ou da própria Ellie, como a morte daquela cão que a atacou depois que ela caiu da ventilação. A piada vergonhosa do sanduíche e o "Oi, eu sou o Joel, esse aqui é meu irmão Tommy" mostram como o jogo se tornou, de um clichê com um amado protagonista e uma promissora lore, para um jogo que não foca nos zumbis e apenas num relacionamento estereotipado pela mídia mainstream e pautas idiotas que acham que podem interferir nas vidas de todos… Expand

    They get a 1 because the graphics and game play were good. BUT THE STORY IS TERRIBLE!!! I was a huge fan of part 1 but Part 2 is embarrassing, I will probably not purchase Part 3 if it is ever developed. It just shows that the critics are out of touch with the general public.

    I've played the first game couple of times but can't imagine a second playthrough of TLOU2. Although the gameplay and graphics are nice, the story feels like a slog and difficult to get through. Even though I can't put it words, I can see the plot is poorly written and was such a shame that this was what we got after waiting for 7 years.

Killing Joel like that might be forgivable but forcing you to play as his killer and trying desperately to make you like her is just gross.     I can't believe how they got rid of the main character of the first game in less than 2 hours, and 7 years for this, the game was carried away by the inclusion.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Very well made game in terms of gameplay, animation, sound design and the beautiful environments you explore. However, being a game series heavily focused on story, the story has many elements that are good with effective writing, but many elements that are terrible and hard to ignore which ruin the experience as a whole. I went into this game knowing the hate but did not expect the extent of the hate to be completely valid. Joel's death is rushed into and makes his character go out in a way that is truly lazy and not like how his character would have acted as portrayed in the first game . Then, you play as Ellie on a revenge quest to kill Abby (the girl who killed Joel) for half the game. The other half you change to Abby and the game tries so hard to get players to sympathize with her character but in the worst ways. The group she sided with after her father died by Joel from the first game is the most brutal and savage group of people who shoot on sight any of Joel and Ellie's group members or anyone who opposes them. It was clear in the first game that Joel had no choice but to kill the Fireflies to save Ellie and the Fireflies were completely fine with killing a fourteen year old kid and forcing Joel to obey that command. This means that even the Fireflies who Abby was with are evil spirited as well. Killing Ellie, the one person who humanized Joel from the first game to save and vaccinate people like Abby and groups that kill anyone discriminately was obviously not worth it to Joel. After playing as Abby for 10 hours of this game I never once felt any remorse for her for killing Joel. She went though tough times but everyone does in this world. Furthermore, I'm not sure if it was the new writer on board with this game, Halley Gross, but the push for an LGBTQ+ agenda is atrocious. I'm aware that a ton of people had this problem and I first thought it was nitpicking and not as obvious as people were saying, but I was clearly wrong. None of what the game was supporting is the problem, it is how the game shoves it down player's throats. Ellie is gay and is dating a woman, which was clear from the first game and in itself is not the problem. The problem is the writing that accompanies it. Ellie constantly calls her lover babe and the game shows many making out/sex scenes between the two. Also, Abby looks like a man in a world where that would not be nearly feasible. There is a transgender boy/girl who has a dedicated chapter of the game explaining how it is troubling and we should feel bad. If anything, this should be insulting to those groups of people the writers are attempting to appeal to by how cliché and corny it all is. To sum up the review, this was not the sequel the fans deserved in any way. The writers even completely vilify Joel's actions at the end of the first game at the end of this game by saying he would have done all of it all over again if he was given the chance. Why would Joel ever want to do things differently when he traveled across the country to deliver a girl to a group of people that simply picked her up and walked 50 feet to the hospital where they pointed guns and threatened the one man who made it possible.     The rest is just a mix of lazy game design, woke cancer, and horrible writing. You play as one of two terrible people doing terrible things, there's a trans kid because the writer is a groomer, and the Abby character is by all means a man they threw a woman's head on last second. The gameplay is interrupted by forced route finding because everything straight forward is conveniently broken, fails, or locked. The gameplay mostly requires constantly killing everyone you see with guns handicapped by the futile weaponry an average Los Angeles urbanite thinks is real. Artificially low magazine capacity, weak cartridges, double barrels and revolvers galore. It's based in the US but may as well be Britain with how sparse the guns and ammo are.

The biggest fumble in the history of gaming sequels. Audiences overwhelmingly agree. The story was just god awful. No one sympathized with Abby and we were forced to play her for 10+ hours. Such a disappointment. How the professional critics saw this as a good good, only leads us to believe they were paid off or received some type of perk. The writing is just undefendable.

    Overall, the game has very interesting gameplay mechanics, but this strongest suit of it is wasted due to the pacing issues caused by the poor story itself, and its decision to introduce Abby as another playable character is so wrong, not only because story-wise, players cannot relate to her, but also because by the time of Abby's main quest kicks in, the game will have dragged far too long and hence there comes a strong sense of repetition.

    Heres a bunch of revenge films that explore the themes better. "The Chaser", "I Saw The Devil", "Oldboy". Watch any of these 3 films and compare it to TLOU2. The gulf in writing quality is a joke, and critics and fans piling on praise just because a videogame was willing to be subversive is a piss poor excuse for good storytelling. I cant stress this enough, "I Saw The Devil" pretty much has the exact same plot as TLOU2, but is executed brilliantly, with nasty violence that actually shows the consequences of vengeance in a brutal, and unflinching manner. That is a story that never drags, and never cops out near the end. But lets talk about TLOU2.

    Here are the numerous issues the game has.

    Pacing: Its a slog. Theres no other way to say this. The game is boring and repetitive after the first few hours. Here is how it goes. You look for clues, you hit a dead end. Rinse and repeat, until you hit a climax, and then you switch characters and repeat the whole process again. Rinse and repeat. In an attempt to show duality the game forgoes all sense of momentum in favor of thematic relevance, which in this case fails dues to uninteresting and poorly written characters. Which brings us to the next point.

    Characters: Before you say "oh you just hate Abby", I want you to know that every single character here is **** Including Joel and Ellie. The writing for everyone here feels like asinine emotional manipulation, convenience after convenience just so that this revenge plot can keep on moving. Characters make choices that are infuriatingly dumb and unbelievable. And Abby? Yeah her entire cast of characters might as well be forgettable mini bosses. Plus, no matter how hard ND tries to make you sympathies with her, i never once cared for anything in her storyline.

    Plot: My god what a **** mess this section is. Everything here is either an conveniently placed plot device, where characters just HAPPEN to meet a specific person that furthers the story's themes, or just HAPPEN to survive scenario through sheer dumb luck. Sure, the first game had this too, but it was somewhat believable. Here? Both Abby and Ellie have crazy plot armor and this whole thing gets dragged on longer than a funeral. And all for what? Revenge is bad, violence is bad, another preachy mess of a revenge tale that hilariously cops out near the end. Again, i cant stress this enough. If you actually want to see a revenge tale that SHOWS the disastrous effects of vengence, watch "I Saw The Devil".

    Structure: Absolutely broken. Remember how in line you were with Joel's journey in the first game? Forget all that. TLOU2 constantly puts you in Abby's shoes at the worst possible time, to break up the structure in one of the most heavy handed ways of showing perspective. It isnt smart, or deep. It has the subtlety of Nolan shoving exposition down your throat, except that this happens half the game, or around 15 hours.

    Conclusion? Whats left is an ugly mess of a game, that visually looks stunning. But there is absolutely nothing here that actually continues the first game in a cohesive manner. Look, i would have welcomed a darker sequel if it made sense. But here? The characters of the first game are used as mere plot devices to tell this heavy handed tale of "revenge is bad". The critical reception of this game is shockingly tone deaf, and will go down as one of the most ridiculous examples of an echo chamber of praise.

    After all that, do i still love the first game? Yeah, i do.

I can literally play on hard and get through every section using stealth kills and that includes the ones where they basically try to force gun fights. So it's not the greatest as far as gameplay goes. I'd give gameplay a 5/10 which means average on my scale.

    Now the story..the potential saving grace of destroyer of scores. It's both bad and good but unfortunately mostly bad. Don't get me wrong, there are still moments that feel genuine and some dialog that is good. The problem is it's far outweighed by genuinely bad writing.

    I don't care about genders or someone's preference in partner. So that's not the issue so please don't even go there. No...my problem with the story is it's just bad. It's badly written, it's poorly paced and the important moments feel forced. Basically things happen more for shock value than they do for the benefit of the story.

    In the original it was the story that pushed me to beat it. I HAD to beat it as quickly as I could because the story had me hooked. Without that being the case in this one I had to force myself to play which is why it took me till 3 days ago to beat it and then collect my thoughts on the whole thing.

    I gave it a 1 based on the amount of hours i got to play as Joel. Seriously that aside the story barely makes sense. You get introduced to character you don't want to play as. The game also tries to make you feel **** about playing it the entire time.

    Took what was so incredibly special about the first game and literally took a gigantic cleveland steamer all over its chest. It's like Luke Skywalker being the hero for the first film, having him die to a random NPC with zero importance attached to them who then goes on to be the star of the show? What the actual EFF. Naughty Dog have lost a life long fan in me.

    Very disappointed, 1 step forward 10 back, GFX are great, action and stealth are sub-par at best, and wow the story? did they fire the whole writing department?

    No way this game is worth all the 10/10 media reviews not going to be trusting them again any time soon.

The original cast were doing things outside their character, all in an effort to support this new "woke" agenda.     I am 100% fine with women characters. Horizon had a strong wonderful woman character who was a joy to play. I don’t care in the least that Ellie is gay, but none of this game makes any sense at all. The characters simply make me cringe. Ellie is hateful. She’s horrible and I don’t like her. I don’t want to be near her and that’s a real problem since I am forced to be her in the game.

    How can you make a game with a central character who is SO unlikable?

I do not know what is going on in this country, but I don’t want to be a part of the same nation as these sort of people anymore.     I don’t care if you ever make games for “me” again. I don’t need to spend my money with you, it’s fine. I truly don’t care at all.

    There are other things to do. I don’t need this.

    TLOU was one of my all time favorite games. It was heartbreaking. It was beautiful, and it truly had love written all over it.

    TLOU2 is an absolute train wreck of SJW meets too high expectations for me. I am in shock that this is the game that naughty dog thought fans wanted.

    Either that, or (more likely) naughty dog does not care what fans want. They used all of us who loved TLOU by taking a platform we all loved... and turning it into a nonstop lecture on the evils of white men.

    Oh, how brave.
    How daring.

    How boring.

    This game is being sold.
    I couldn’t play more than 3 hours of it... and I honestly disliked every minute of it. Congratulations on that naughty dog.

    By the way, I thought Control was awesome.
    Female lead, was awesome, great game.

    I’m 100% done with anything like TLOU2.

Descent game, but Ill probably get it refunded. Im sure my score wouldve been slightly higher if they added multiplayer like the first game.

From a triple A developer like Naughty Dog who were the kings of videogame scriptwriting, it's deeply sad that they've written one of the most flimsy, insulting and plot hole filled stories ever to be released.
    I saw the leaks for the game but I still had trust in ND to make the story work, but sadly the story was even more disappointing when I actually saw it unfold. Previously well written characters are reduced to dull one note contradictions that oftentimes change their motivations on whim and only because the weak script needs them to.

    It's as if the writers didn't know where to take the story next so it relies heavily on shock value twists in order to mask the truthfully weak and paper thin story that it really is. The reason why the original game worked so well is because it told a simple story, but the whole point was to build a relationship with two characters that culminates to the last act and everything that happened before makes perfect sense. The sequel very much feels like it has no real point, and even though the game is even longer than the original, most of what happens feels like padding and this doesn't help the awful pacing issues.

    Positives? Visually it can be impressive, though I've still been way more impressed with other games, but it looks good. Gameplay can be fun, I like stealth games so when I'm sneaking in the grass trying for the perfect silenced headshot, the game can be satisfying.

    Sadly overall the game is just a gigantic letdown, and it's clear to me that the original game should've been left alone and never needed a sequel.    … Expand
