Non pensavo che potesse arrivare a tali livelli, anche avendo la Fat, il gioco andava molto bene e i tempi d'attesa per tornare in vita erano minimi.

I love that Naughty Dog decided to go in the direction they did. I love the story and how characters evolve during the game. I'm glad I didn't read other user reviews and all the hate before playing. I really enjoyed the game and I suggest you keep an open mind and enjoy the detail that went into the game. Looking forward to part 3. Let's go.

Lets start off simply. This game is split between people who love it for simply being another installment in the Last of Us and people who hate it for its story. Lets start off simply. This game is split between people who love it for simply being another installment in the Last of Us and people who hate it for its story. I would like to say this: if you go into any game with any pre-determined thoughts, you will tend to have that experience regardless of how the game actually performs. As with anything in life.

With that said, I saw the critic reviews of 10/10 and 5 stars, etc. I also saw the audience saying this game would be awful after the plot leaks. Those who read the leaks, learned of a big motive for the story, and instantly begun hating the game for it. This is the problem with spoilers. They ruin things for people.

I was able to avoid the spoilers and went into this game expecting something good, but was weary and open-minded.

I chose to write without spoilers, as the point of a review is to inform someone if they purchase something or not. This game is a purchase in my opinion. The sound and graphics are amazing, as to be expected with a Naughty Dog game. One thing a lot of reviews seem to miss, is the level of detail though. They do not go into the amount of detail. The world is very immersive and the music fits incredibly well. The combat is hard if you do not loot. The game attempts to will you into exploration and you find things you would not expect. Not weapons and ammo, but the stories of people who lived in the areas you loot. The benefits of this pay off, and you can get good gear.

Even more so, the combat is very intense. It is violent. Very violent. However, that is the point of this game. To put emotion behind killing. Players are used to killing hundreds of enemies across multiple games without a thought to it. That is the point of this game and the message trying to be told. Violence, in any capacity, is violent. When you kill an enemy, others will cry out their name. Sometimes after landing a shot, the enemy collapses to the floor and screams until they die. This is very different from any game I have played. It tries to make you realize you are actually killing someone. Not some nobody, but somebody.

The story is not perfect. There was no way to really make a sequel to the first game perfect, as the Last of Us was a perfect game and did not need a sequel. I understand that the Naughty Dog wanted to make a sequel, mainly for money, but also to simply make another game. The story is good for what it is. It is emotional, and those who say moments don't matter, are simply detached from the story.

This game is best played in a setting where you can focus on it. It is best played when you are not trying to relax. It is more of an art project then a game for that matter. Last of Us Part II wants you to feel emotional during the game and tries desperately to achieve that. It works at times but also doesn't.

The game attempts to show you the level of emotion behind people. It tries to show you that despite all the enemies you encounter, they all always have a reason for what they are doing. That, they might not actually be bad. The only real "bad guys" are the undead, and they aren't focused on as much for that reason.

All in all, I think this game takes a lot to understand. You have to be willing to accept things for what they are and role with the game. Make a judgement on it once you are all the way through it, not at the start or middle, but at the complete end.

This game is good and I would recommend it to others. It is a unique experience in gaming, and there is no other gaming experience like it.

Disappointing sequel to what was a perfect game. Gameplay was fantastic with a range of new weapons and enemies. I cannot wait to see how the multiplayer will turn out.

The story however was a let down to say the least. You can tell what Naughty Dog was trying to do with the story but it just did not work.

The masterpiece that was the first one was almost violated. They way they force them out of the story was very disappointing and the character you end up playing was impossible to relate with or feel for.

It breaks my heart to write this, but I really did not expect such a poor story after all these years of waiting. While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling.

The emotional intensity of this game is surreal. This demonstrates the developers' ability to project human nature into their work, traumatic relapses and weakened humanization in this context. It has its flaws, just like human beings.

Those who gave the game 1 star for Joel's death, what kind of game did you think it was going to be? Did you forget this is an action/horror game set in a post apocalyptic world? Did you not see the trailer?? "Ellie's revenge". What did you think she would be vengeful for? It made sense to me and I liked the way they did it. Let's be real, before Ellie, Joel was an evil **** To everyone that has faced the barrel of his gun, he got what he deserved. Was I upset by his death? Of course! Did I think Ellie deserved revenge? **** yeah! And I was stoked to kill everyone that had a hand in Joel's death. Because I loved the character and thought Ellie deserved redemption. I loved playing as Abby and I grew to love the character. At first of course I hated her and didn't like playing as her because of the animosity I had towards her over Joel's death. But after learning who she was from a kid to an adult, from a WLF to rescuing scars to a prisoner, from a violent, evil brute to a loving carer wanting genuine change I grew attached to her. Having to fight Ellie as Abby and vice versa was so intense and upsetting. I loved the way it was done. You can draw lots of parallels between Abby and Joel. Both began as murderous people, killing and doing it well for the prosperity of themselves and those around them. Finding a young person that they grow to love and care for that changes their ethics and goals, leading them to live more open, trusting lives. The difference is you dont get to see what Joel did before Ellie, it's only referenced that he killed innocent people and set traps.

Also if you're really that bothered by how jacked Abby is (you're probably a misogynist and) it serves a real purpose. Ellie is super petite and you cant play as Joel so you're missing the classic brutal playstyle of TLOU without Abby. She can hold a massive rifle steady, swing a pickaxe without falling over and punch the **** out of people. My only gripe is before the farm, Ellie and Dina's relationship seemed kind of baseless to me. Context was only found in Ellie's teenage journal in the museum. Didn't really like Dina's character and didnt think she deserved Ellie. That did change after seeing them as a domestic couple but i wished i had felt that much earlier in the game. I think if you had read negative reviews of the game before playing (or have some *ahem* prejudices) and are set on disliking the game for those reasons, you have robbed yourself of one of the best gaming experiences ever.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us 2 is a game with hardship, despair and loss. But also within the game is love, strong relationships and forgiveness. The story with Ellie and Dina was the main strong point of the beginning of the game. Joel on the other hand, you can see that the relationship has grown very low, because of Ellie finding out the truth of what Joel had done to her. Which is why I agree with Ellie, she had the chance to save humanity and she wanted to do that and was ready for that sacrifice. But Joel took a selfish move and saved her because he seen her as the only thing he had left in this dying world. Joel still seen her as a little girl and not an adult who wanted to do her own thing. Think of him as a loving yet very protective father. To which is why I also love the way Joel is presented in this game, you know that his story is over, and that Ellie, Dina, Abby and Lev now take over. But now we are gonna talk about Joel's death. Joel needed to die. Maybe not in the way it happened (he had it coming tbh) but it happened and we have to move on. He killed Abby's father for trying to save the world, her father didn't see any wrong and only thought in the recovery of humanity. Joel wronged alot of people, but he was also a good hearted person. Abby sought revenge the same as any other person would do in that situation. Especially in the world they live in. Now back to Ellie, she killed alot of people to just get to one person, even a pregnant women who didn't want to be a part of it. The question I kept asking myself was.. was it worth it? All this killing? Abby let Ellie and Tommy go, but again here is another loop. Tommy wanted revenge for the death of his brother, and so set for another killing spree to which I agree. But now I'm seeing in this story that these are two stories with the same outcome... death. Unresolved and unnecessary death on both parties. Which I think Ellie herself brought on to herself. Now onto my favourite character, Abby. Abby's character development was amazing. At the start I wanted her dead for what she did. But later finding out what happened, I understood why. She had a valid reason for wanting revenge. Now we come to the aid of Yara and Lev. Both amazing characters and totally deserve to be recognised in this game. We see Abby's human side here, she could have walked away after they saved her life. Abby went to hell and back for them and in the end, got a new friend. Lev. Lev has had a troubled story, and also deserves full respect for what he had been through. Yes, he is trans and done what he thought was right, and that was to be himself. His own mother tried to kill him because of it and with the other scars calling him 'Lilly' you can tell the other scars did not accept him for it and therefore got so much hate to the point which he and his sister escaped. Abby deserves so much respect for helping Yara and Lev, again she could have walked away but she didnt. She stood her ground for what was right. Now to the ending, both women fighting to the end. Ellie was gonna win but then turned away because of guilt. Ill leave it up to you to what you think of the ending but I think it ended right. Both women deserved what they got, they both suffered and therefore redeemed. Overall, this game was probably the best game I have ever played. The small love moments between Ellie and Dina are amazing (I cried at the 'Take on me' moment, it was so beautiful). This game deserves all the praise it gets and hope Abby and Lev have their own game. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So lets start with the good aspects of this game:

Gameplay - Original and like the first one, imo there is nothing wrong with this since the concept from the original game worked so well. Animations are amazing, fluid and interactive unlike any game ever, cinematics are also immersive and fantastic, alongside a lot of other factors including level design, graphics and so much more.

But unfurtunately this review score is massively pulled down due to the big elephant in the room: The story - As Druckmann said the story would create some very divisive opinions with the release of this game, and oh boy was he right. Now I don't like the story one bit, and that is mostly since it kinda takes Joel and Ellie's story, and their amazing bond which develops in the first game and throws it somewhat out of the window. Again as many argues mostly people say we don't like the game since Joel dies, this is not true. Matter of fact we all saw this move coming, but it is more HOW Joel dies. It happens in a violent, sadistic and heartbreaking way, that you really feel emotionally. Also the unrealistic plot hole, that Joel in the first game basically slaughtered a hospital of fireflies, which should make him pretty untrusty of any strangers whatsoever, both to keep him and Ellie safe. But still he proceeds to have nothing against Tommy giving them his name. This death is really heavy on the player and by now you really do feel mad by the way he dies, but wait: Now you gotta play as Abby for 10 hrs of the game? Nice, the bodybuilder that just smashed the **** out of your most beloved character with a golf club is now someone you need to know the backstory of. How inconvenient. Really it feels like this shock-driven roller coaster, where they just keep throwing miserable acts and turns at you, that could literally give you a depression for taking such good a francise and turning it into absolute poop. So Joel dies, Ellie ultimately doesn't get her revenge anyway, she kills like a physchopath and gets as far as killing most of Abby's friends, but at the end decides not to kill her anyway. For me that doesn't make sense, you build up a tense revenge plot around killing dosens and dosens of people, only to get dissatisfied with not killing Abby (aka a bunch of setup but no payoff). Yes the message is supposed to teach us revenge is not the way to go, but still. From Abby's perspective, she gets her revenge on Joel, and gets away with it (Obviously with losses too, but we don't give two ***** about her friends, since she litterally golf clubbed the MOST beloved character, aka. Joel to death). So yeah this is not a happy ending, of course not what would I expect. It's a bloody horror game, that tries to tell us that violence and revenge is not the way to go, even though 99% of the game is slaughtering people and infected. This plot just feels weird and dumb, why not go a different path? For instance with the development of a cure instead of building up this weird tension between factions, as if infected plays a minor role all of the sudden. I just don't understand and I am generally frustrated that Ellie ends up with absolutely nothing (which was also what she expressed she was afraid of in the first game: "Ending up alone"), like the whole francise twisted towards the player having to feel empathetic towards Abby now, because now she is appointed the good girl, and not Ellie. Really sad moment by Neil man, that he has to rip Ellie so much apart, taking everything from her including her baby, girlfriend (Dima), dad-like figure (Joel), multiple fingers, and gives her a stress disorder to top it off. Many people say it's good for the francise to take new directions, and I agree to some extend. Well if they were going to, they might as well just make a completely new story, leaving the old one untouched for a spin off series instead - Since this game literally feels too long because some weird Abby playthrough background DLC was thrown up by Druckmann. I just wish for the writers to at least respect the characters, since ultimately the player base would love for them to be treated somewhat fairly. But yeah look, I guess druckmann got his wishes come true. Since sad moments drag more attension than a linear boring ass storyline. So he'd rather destroy the francise for some more fame. I dunno dude, this interview is getting long and I just really want them to rewrite the whole story.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’m not even going to lie, after finishing this game I absolutely hated it. I hated how they killed Joel, Jesse, and even let Abby escape. But after sitting on the ending for about a week, I started to understand more about some of the decisions. However, it would be foolish to say that everyone is going to love this game. Even people who loved the first game like me might despise this game. I’m going to go through some initial thoughts about major story beats, both of how I felt as it happened and after thought.

First, I want to go through my initial thoughts of two things. The death of beloved Joel. At first I was in major disbelief of how they had done it, angered to the point where I didn’t play it for the rest of the day. And with the ending, I was so confused of how it went. Abby... got away? Why? Why did she let her just go after seeing Joel? Wouldn’t that anger her even more?

After I finished the game, I thought about it for about a week. And the more I thought about it, the more I loved it. First, Joel’s death. Through playing as Abby, I was able to understand her humanity, saving Lev and restoring her humanity through him. Like Joel, she learns to love Lev like a brother and cares for him. She even seemed like Ellie in many parts, with her humor and overall attitude. And the ending. I’m not completely clear on it, but here’s what I believe. I think that Ellie saw the huge mistake of killing Joel. But, she sees the vision of Joel on the porch, where she told him that she wants to try to forgive him. Perhaps she wanted to forgive Abby for what she had done like she was going to do with Joel. She was able to see a good side of Abby through Lev, and decided to let her go. And maybe she knew that is she were to kill Abby, Lev would get into the same situation as Ellie was in with Joel. So she decided to end the cycle of violence and take the pain. And by leaving Joel’s guitar and her paintings, she’s deciding to leave what she knows to become a better person for Dina and JJ.

But even disregarding that, the gameplay of this game is masterclass. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s so smooth that it almost seems real. The acting is even better, with performances from Ashley Johnson and Shannon Woodward. Both heartbreaking and heartwarming at times, both are some of the best I’ve seen in a long time.

In conclusion, this game is one that isn’t just going to seem fun all the time or just be surface fun like the Uncharted games (not saying there’s anything wrong with that, I love the Uncharted series) but it’s a game that might disgust you, even anger you at times. But after thinking about a lot of things, it feels like one of the most unforgettable experiences you’ll go through. It’s my GOTY.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is overall a great game, and I agree with everyone who says that the story is not better than the original. The first game was more self contained and its story was told in a more cohesive way. That being said, Part 2 expands on everything, improves where it must, and delivers an amazing experience whether you agree or disagree with it's key points.

Joel dying is not wrong. Him trusting strangers is not wrong based on the assumption that he's been re-educating himself to trust strangers that surround Jackson, welcome and shelter them is part of what the whole community is based upon.

Abby's side of the story is compelling, but I agree with the fact that it might drag a little bit more than necessary. However, you grow to UNDERSTAND her side of the story, and the game doesn't ever force you to like her, the game knows that you know what she did and doesn't intend to dictate how you see her by the end of her section or the game itself. You can absolutely hate her by the end as well, and even if you do that, you're still within the spectrum intended by the storytellers.

Ellie is great, and she's not mono-dimensional. At the beginning she really has lost purpose, because she knows that her immunity will not amount to anything because Joel took that away from her. The death of her only father figure gives her a new purpose, which is vengeance. However, the game shows you the path of vengeance, how little by little you can be consumed by anger and rage, and thirst for revenge. She's mostly angry at herself for not being able to set aside her disdain for Joel in time and have more time with him, angry for not being strong/smart enough to help him on his last moments. She then gets a second chance with Dina and JJ, and she's still hasn't broken the cycle of violence and vengeance, and feels that the only way to overcome those feelings is by killing the person who set these events in motion, ignoring that in the end, it was Joel himself who set them at the end of Part 1.

The secondary characters offer development for Ellie and Abby, especially the latter, who we've never met. This is where most people have issues: feeling that spending time with Abby was unnecessary, or dragged; and while I mildly agree with the dragging part, I feel that it was needed for the story that we knew who Abby was and what her life was before and after Joel killed his father.

At the end, whether you hate Abby or not, whether you agree with Ellie letting Abby and Lev go or not, Joel and Tommy appealing naive in front of Abby and her friends or not; you can't deny that the game told its story, and told it well for the most part. Even if you didn't even like the game to its core, the decisions made by the developers are justified, and they pay off by evoking conversation and emotion from the player.

In the end, this game is a must play for everyone.

-that game was amazing, and in fact the best thing about it is the hated parts, killing Joel, playing with Abby and Ellie not killing her at the end.
-Joel's death made the game interesting, and showed that in a **** up world anyone can die.
-playing with Abby shows how hypocrite people are, if the story was told in reverse (started with Abby's past and didn't know anything about Joel), more people would've empathized with her, but most people hate her cuz they didn't know her, and worst thing is, they don't want to, thats way the game forces your emotional hypocrit ass to play with her...in the end i empathized, and my take was that the world can be **** up, that there is no real glorious good or evil, only perspective.
-the last part is the most interesting, keep in mind, Abby spared Dina and Ellie, and now is taking care of Lev (who by the these haters try to forget that he is Ellie from TLOU1 and Abby is his Joel), so Abby IS a good person, and she made the first step by not killing Ellie, and in the end, Ellie rediscovered her true good nature, and stopped from killing Abby, that was where i bursted in tears, i was like : poor Ellie, this **** is too much for her, she is just a kid.
so let's try to have a wider perspective instead of getting stuck in the revenge cycle, god only knows how much i love Joel, he is too close to my real dad so he is somewhat like my dad, i got never over his death, but i knew that all are victims of the world, and that at least Ellie, Abby and Lev, good people, got alive out of it, that's for me is what made the ending peaceful.
in the end this game just exposed us, and we are mad about it, that's it, and that's what real art should be about, exposing us without care about our feelings.

Once you have these requirements, and you have played the first one, of course, you can jump in and live a journey that will twist your feelings and drag you inside of a cruel reality in one of the best portrayal of human nature ever created. Beware: the game won't do it gently, and that is gonna be the best part of it.
What you'll play is indeed a "real" video game, not an interactive experience, with a smooth gameplay, it will seem familiar since it's similar to the one from the first chapter while improved in every single aspect and extremely fun to play.
I don't think there isn't any need to talk about the graphics, but, if I have to, I'll just say that some little details blew me away and sometimes I even forgot I was playing a video game.
The world has a need of bold, well-written and incredibly well-developed games like this.

    May your survival be long.
    May your death be swift.

It's a story about revenge and inner change but also a way to understand how important is to understand different points of view, and it's brutal, visceral at a point that you won't have fun playing this, it will shake you with unpredictable plot twists and game design choices.
If there is one thing this game couldn't be described as is 'fan service' and the courage Naughty Dog had with this writing is admirable, they could do a fan service game and still sell millions of copy.
Visually state of the art, with a great minimalistic soundtrack, real life like animations, and unprecedented acting for a videogame, The last of us Part 2 is among the best if not the best game of this generation. Gameplay wise is a step over the first chapter, so very very good.
Any cons? Yes, I experienced like three or four times some minor glitches like wrong hit boxes or compenetrations, I didn't like so much the animations of the character when losing balance before falling down, and personally I'd appreciated the presence of a lock-on system in some circumstance.
Any way If you liked The last of us Part 1 you have to play this sequel, but dont'expect any happy ending, the last of us are not very kind people, in the end.
I would give it a 9.5, but with all this **** review bombing thing I give it a 10 without any hesitation.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It’s been a very long time since a game has made me contemplate the choices of the protagonists to this level. The writing is very good and the combat is reminiscent of the first game but undoubtedly improved. This story took an immense toll on me emotionally for a couple days, i couldn’t get specific moments, scenes and decisions out of my head. I beat it relatively quickly and had to take a break from heavier dark material for a few days. There are warm moments of friendship and love, as well as devistating and disturbing moments of gut wrenching violence and loss. Jury’s still out as to whether or not i like Abby personally, i do very much see what ND was going for and respect it, even if i would have rather had a full Ellie Adventure. I would give the game a 8.5 but i can only do 8 or 9, so i’m rounding up because the GRAPHICS are pretty phenomenal, even on my base PS4. PS4 Pro is even better. I’ll end by letting you know that all the bad hype this game is getting, is undeserved. People want something to hate rn so it’s getting review bombed. I usually don’t agree with the critics but i sorta do this time. I do thing the first game is superior, because it was a tighter, more concisely weaved structure and story, but this game (if you can handle the gore) is absolutely worth playing. 9/10. Expand

Technically the game is stunning, the combat controls were more responsive, and added enemies with new infected and dogs created new challenges. Some quite brutal. Speaking of brutal, the violence and savagery are pretty intense. Jump scares are used to heighten a situation, but not used so often that it loses impact. The story was divisive. I get it. You are making choices and taking actions that are well beyond normal human behavior. Yes there is a trans character. It isn’t Abby. Abby was humanized in her journey. The ending upset a lot of people. I thought about the end result of a series of choices that make sense. Ellie was fully warned before the final crusade what would happen. It came true. No one gets a happy ending. Considering the story beats and revenge at all costs, having nothing left seems fitting. For this sort lesson, repercussions were necessary. Expand

This is not a story with your run of the mill happy endings and at times it can be very grim, sometimes pulling your feels right out from underneath you, and you cannot help but feel exactly what Neil Druckmann and the rest of the team want you to feel. This level of story telling has never been seen in any other franchise and Naughty Dog definitely did not hold any punches in The Last of Us Part II. You care about the characters and you feel for them and the relationships as you have become invested since the first game.

The game play mechanics are no slouch either as they just have such a high degree of polish and you really feel empowered to handle situations however you please. After beating the game on the highest difficulty for my first playthrough, I will admit this game tests you problem solving skills and your patience. The dogs in certain parts are no joke! The game is all around impressive and really sets the standard for the industry competing with only games like God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2. It is really a work of art and tugs at your heart strings throughout its entirety. While I do not feel as though it deserves anything less than a 9.5 and I truly believe God of War is my only 10/10 this generation, I feel obligated to give this game a 10/10 as well because of the detail and Naughty Dog's ability to deliver on a level of story telling that you just do not hardly see. The Last of Us Part II is the perfect mixture of telling an extraordinarily compelling story that is unpredictable and extremely polished gameplay that makes you feel so dangerous. I don't really subscribe to the accolade of "Game of the Year", because I feel games are so unique that they should not be leveraged against one another. However, I would definitely have to pick the Last of Us Part II if I had to pick a 2020 Game of the Year or 2020 Must Play Game. Truly a work of art!

Do not buy this game. Just watch a recap of a playthru on YouTube, or better still, avoid the whole thing. It is not worth it, not the money, especially not the time. A small recap video will tell you what the game is about, and it is not worth your effort. But will ruin the first game...

    Visuals and sound is great.
    Gameplay is OK.

Story could be ok, but is really, really poorly executed, so you just actually don't want to finish the game.
You play half of the game as a character you don't care about, in a side mission that you don't care about, so it gets boring. I was fed up with this side mission and still had to play 5 more hours of uninteresting stuff before getting back to the main story (ca 10 hours total of this side mission, the last 5 was not fun or interesting).

The game ruins all of the characters from Last of Us part 1, so you don't like any of the characters after finishing. And you feel miserable and angry because the characters you cared about from the first game are ruined - not because of the moral of the story that is told.

There is a clear statement that Naughty Dog want to tell us thru this game. It is not about lesbians or trans-gender people. That was just thrown in here, totally OK, maybe provokes some people, but does not matter to the main story.

The main statement is OK, but is so, so poorly executed that you are better of watching a recap, than paying and playing the game. It is a waste of your resources.

They better not make a part III, I don't want it, I would not buy it.

The best option is to avoid all about this game, because it ruins the first, great game for you. Play the original one more time instead. That is the best option.

How it handles players love for the main character is very disrespectful. Just like most games now I can tell this was less about making a good game and more about pushing an agenda. I guess I’ll go back and play part one and pretend this game never existed.

This is How you make a Sequel!!
It removed all expectations for me as a fan of the first game within the opening moments of the journey. Taut pacing, excellent narrative structure and high budget production values lend credence to the creators of this game. It doesn't deny the actions of the first game but makes it the thematic plot thread holding the story together.

I grew with Ellie. Its been 7 years for me and 4-5 for her and the world she lives in. This is a bleak unflinching world where happiness is an afterthought. Every death seems to carry weight. every encounter weighs on me the player. The characters are fleshed out. The cinematics are perfectly synced with the action. The mythos of the world is dense. You have a society being built on the crumbs of the past. And it is as flawed as we are today. There is hope here. you go through layers and layers of despair to get to it. But that's Life personified.

On a last note. This story will stay with me for some time. I will ponder the choices made. I will fight with the pros and cons. But in the end i will wait for what comes next. Please let there be a next.

The game is not by all means perfect, but almost. The problem for me isn't the gameplay, directions, or the story (which in my opinion all are solid). But the scavenging for supplies get a little bit tedious (yet addicting?) in my 28 hours of total gameplay.

Totally recommended you try it before give any judgement. Please, please, please, understand what The Last of Us world is about

Story is awesome in my opinion but I can see why others hate it. I’m Getting Ellie’s tattoo soon

This game is brilliant, badly reviewed by a number of people because they cannot accept a large thing that happens at the beginning of the game so i would reccommend you play for yourself to make your own decision.

The story is written so well and new characters that i worried i wouldnt care about made me love them just as much as ellie and joel. Gameplay is improved over the first game

The game is about two deeply flawed characters with great hearts but forced to live in a dystopian world, torn in different direction by obligations, emotions, and connection. The game play, especially in the 2nd half, felt like all of the best parts of TLOU1 and more - weaving combat, cinematics, and story telling flawlessly.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Incredible story that dives deep into the psychology of love, loss, betrayal, anger, and revenge.

PTSD is portrayed with disquieting realism, and the devastating emotional ramifications of abruptly losing someone you love but with whom you're estranged are explored in Ellie's journey. Gameplay is improved upon from part 1, with the ability to crawl and dodge adding a lot of fun to stealth and combat encounters. Graphics are out of this world beautiful and voice acting was incredible. The animators did a fantastic job capturing the complex emotions on faces throughout this often bleak and emotionally destructive take.

I've played it twice and will play again and again like I did with part 1.

PS the representation in this game is awesome!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going to say it and nobody is going to like it, this game got bandwagoned by a bunch of 12 year olds who didn't play the game and people who are genuinely angry about LGBT representation in the game. That being said, the beginning of the game made me believe that this is going to be one of the biggest letdowns in the history of gaming, such a beloved game having a bad sequel. I wouldn't blame someone for tossing out the game based purely on the beginning alone, with a combination of bad writing, pointless political agendas, unrealistic situations, killing such a loved character for what just seemed like shock value, (and still somewhat does) I really didn't want to play the game, but I played it because I wanted to see how Ellie's story ended. The first thing I noticed in the gameplay changes was the massive damn combat nerf, you never hit enemies first and it's next to impossible go combat stun, which is fine, but it makes the dodging mechanic become overused which can be frustrating at the beginning part. I personally didn't and don't care about the sexuality of the characters unless it plays a role in the story, but it was refreshing to have LGBT characters that didn't feel like pandering until you thought of the amount of the named characters who were LGBT. I had alot of friends in that community be annoyed by it, but since I'm straight I didn't care much. The story once it gets to Seattle and the character interactions between Ellie and Dina was honestly better then Joel and Ellie from the original game. The flashbacks and guitar scenes were genuinely some of my favorites on any console game, and the gameplay felt new and refreshing. As the story progresses and feels more linear and less open world, the story feels more straightforward as well, which was what made the first game so enjoyable. While I still have problems with the writing and everything from this part of the game, I really only took a problem with some world interactions and weird difficulty problems, such as being able to dodge a blister and easily destroy it with minimal materials compared to the first game, yet struggling with every single dog. This may be my fault as a player if I'm being honest, but either way it felt strange. On the other hand, it turned out to be more difficult then the first game, and more rewarding because of that. The story takes a nosedive as soon as you get back to the theater with Tommy. The game leaves on an absolutely massive cliffhanger, with Abby having both Tommy and Ellie at gunpoint. Then, they have you play a long segment as Abby, breaking the flow of the story. I took problem with this, as it shows the utter lack of writing ability that plagued the beginning of the game. I was extremely reluctant to play through as Abby. I felt like everything that happened was meant to just make us like her more, which made me end up liking her less. This portion of the game really tested my willingness to play. This all leads up to the biggest gripe with the story, how Ellie let's Abby live. Imagine if somebody you didn't know comes in and kills the person you love the most, and you travel miles and days to find them, killing dozens of people and torturing some. Then, when you finally meet the person you went there for, you let them go. That is exactly what happened and it was an attempt to subvert expectations that felt like something straight out of a Cartoon Network show. This is one of the most questionable, and in my opinion, awful decisions of writing that I've seen. The game was going amazing, it was fun, compelling, and enjoyable overall until this point. I would buy this game for myself, and recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the original, but I truly hope that the story is retconned or made non-canon. It feels about he same as the current Star Wars Sequels to me, a great franchise ruined with annoying writing. This game is worth the money, but I expected way more, and hoped for way more. It may seem strange for me to care about a game this much, but I genuinely loved the original story and felt strongly about this sequel, and it makes me disappointed that such mistakes were made. Thank you for reading to this point, have a nice day. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
