Gripping survival settings paired with emotional plot which pushes you "player" to your breaking point. Immersive music and sound works which keeps you on edge always. Twist at every corner with tragedy yet perfect in every way possible. To conceive a story as good as The Last of Us part 1 and pushing it even further takes immense focus and teamwork which Naughty dog has produced for us to experience under Neil Druckmann's directorship. People who shun this game are tethered to the character form previous game, which is understandable. I felt the same way but you "everyone" need to see the game through to understand why. Final verdict: The Last of Us part II is magnanimous, Game of the generation and a masterpiece.… Expand

    Sorry but women can have muscles. If you feel the need to give a game a 1 out of 10 because a character is LGBTQ and spew hate, maybe think about what has happened in your life that led you to this point. Zombies scare me and graphics good. 10/10

Joel's death is really hurt, and a game shouldn't take such a complex story, we need time to fighting and garbage collecting etc., damn it is not as good as 10, I do this because there are too many low scores just for anger and hatred, I just hope there will be a part 3. tears...… Expand

    What an amazing achievement this game is. Besides the amazing visuals and improved gameplay, I really appreciated what ND did with the story. I applaud them for trying something different. Yes, it didn't work for everyone. But if it worked for you, it worked big time. The emotional rollercoaster that the game provides is unprecedented.

The only things i can praise about this game are 3 things :The Graphics, the gameplay(for the most parts) and the attention to details. Let's start with the pros of this game . THE GAMEPLAY: The graphics look amazing :these might be some of the best graphics i've ever seen in a game,the ridiculous attention to detail is astonishing .when you're aiming if you wait for a second your character will cock the gun back. the gameplay against the humans is some of the best i've ever played: the AI is excellent in gunplay :using flanking maneuvers, calling out to one another periodically. It's pretty damn fun playing when you get to these parts.Unfortunately i can't say the same for the infected parts : these encounters are extremely lackluster. The game added these zombies called shamblers :they're basically Bloaters that don't one hit kill you and i honestly think they were the were the most annoying zombies ever.Shamblers have these spore bags which emit acidic gas.This gas acts like a poison that you've got to get out of if you want to live.Unfortunately, they take ages to dissapear so if the shamblers throws too many bags you're dead . I would also like to add that the melee aspects just plain suck. It feels like a downgrade from the first game because now it's much harder to actually kill your enemies:even with a bladed weapon like a machete ,it'll take you 3-4 hits to kill one person. Apart from that most of the new things are pretty great :you can attach a supressor on your pistol, weapin modification looks awesome:you actually see your character upgrading the weapon instead of Joel holding down his bag. However the workbench kinda lies to you : in a scripted event ,you'll get attacked while on the workbench. This could've been a good idea to be mindful of your surroundings but the game never does that. Anyways that's pretty much all i have to say about the gameplay :it's decent but pretty terrible in some areas. Now you might be asking yourself if i like the gameplay why is my review only 2 out of 10 and that's because the "gameplay is king" aspect doesn't apply to games like The Last of Us: sure the gameplay has to be fun but the story has to be great . THE STORY: This is probably the worst story i've experienced since Game of Thrones Season 8 .Yeah,it's that bad. The story takes place 5 years after the first game:Ellie and Joel are barely in speaking terms and Ellie has grown up to be very unlikeable.Now the first part of the game is honestly the best part in the entire game. The game opens up with a flashback where Joel tells Tommy what happened in the first game while cleaning a guitar .Joel acts very out of character here.He says with certainty "They were gonna make a cure" even though Joel from the first game was well aware the Fireflies would never have been able. The horseriding back to Jackson is the only time you ever play as Joel so enjoy it while it lasts. After that Joel returns home to Ellie and gives her his guitar promising to teach her .You play a guitar minigame and Joel starts singing to Ellie.After that he puts the guitar down and tells Ellie a bad joke.This scene is probably the best scene in the game ; it captures the charm of the first game with our 2 main characters and actually makes you happy. After that we cut to 4 years later :Ellie wakes up and goes to the bar to hear an apology from someone who called her a dyke for kissing a girl.The guy admits he was at fault,blaiming his bevahior on being drunk .He offers Ellie steak sandwiches but she declnes stating they are "bigot sandwiches" .Now not only is this scene awful it's also **** stupid:who ,in a zombie apocalypse, would care what someone called them ? This isn't modern day America this is a zombie apocalypse where people try to kill each other. After that we control Abby, the new main character, she talks to a guy called Owen about tracking someone .Owen tells Abby it's too risky.Abby responds to that by jumping into infected territory with no plan or backup to find Joel .By pure **** coincidence she does. She,Joel and Tommy escape from the infected by returning to Abby's group. They take care of their horses sdaying they're leaving soon.Then for no **** reason they decide to enter the cabin with all of the armed strangers. Not only that but Tommy tells a group of well armed strangers their location and their names.This makes no sense why would Joel be so lax with trust when in the first game he ran over someone because he knew it was an ambush whilst in this game, Joel stands in the middle of a room with strangers unarmed. they blow off his kneecap and start torturing him to death with a golf club. Ellie finds them and vows vengeance on them.They killed Joel off in extremely moronic ways but guess what? You play for 10 hours as Abby trying to make us sympathise with her .At the end Ellie decides to spare her because she had a flashback of Joel. 2/10… Expand

    The game's graphics are amazing, and the post apocalyptic immersion is very good. But the story and characters are horrible. In the strife for political correctness the devs destroyed what the first game achieved. This is one of the most disappointing sequel.

    Building a story on the killing of a loved character (the character that the entire first part is built on) and then forcing players to go to certain locations everytime you get to a location then you have to go to another (turned into a traveling game just go and find that person i understand it's not that horrible but when you do it throughout the entire game it becomes really bad) the characters are pointless, isaac only appeard twice while his name was mentioned even more than joel and then simply dies. anyway after a while it gets really boring and then comes the worst twist in video games i have ever seen forcing players to play the villian and forcing them to understand why that happend. That was the worst thing you can think of, every character has a backgroud whether we know it or not and yes life sometimes is unfair as what it did to joel in the first part and no life is not always bad you have your moments of happiness and moments of saddnes just like what happend to joel and what haplend might be reasonble but the outcome was so bad and ellie ended up with nothing. i didn't like abby i understand why she did it but still she killed joel and i will never like her and being forced to play half of the game as abby and to witness her hypocricy, the game developers really tried to get you to like her and that was so obvious with the bad joke and the sudden acts of kindness.

    Also turning abby into joel and lev into ellie was so bad and pathetic they will never replace them and you know that but you decided to do it anyway.

    Lev story is no where near Ellie.
    Ellie was the cure and lev is nothing but a charecter that was forced into the story to make abby an angel.

    Good luck niel drukmann you will know what you did when the third part is relased and the real price will be paid.

    These people who played the first part recently and never realised what joel and ellie meant will buy your bad story but the ones that got the last of us to where it is won't.

    Yes it's your story but it won't mean anything without the people that appreciate it and the real fans did back in 2013.

     those who bought it recently will never give you the hype that was given to you in 2017 to relase this game.

    Also, allow the refunds and then you will realise how great your sales are.

    So here we are. The last of us part 2. I have been waiting for this game for 7 years. I bought a PS4 pro and pre ordered the game just so I could play it at its maximum potential. I avoided any and all leaks so I could go in with a fresh mind. The first game was possibly my favourite game of all time. I loved every last minute of it. Every character felt real and grounded. This games story was an insult to everything that made the first game so great. I at least gave it a 1 purely out of respect for the developers that worked so hard to make this game beautiful. But the story did away with everything that I once loved about this game. The true irony is that this attempt to force a so called progressive narrative has only served to alienate people and push them further away from a wanting a better more progressive future. Some story elements do not work as intended and the game definitely drags at the end, but the gameplay is excellent, upgraded from the previous game and from a technical perspective(audio, graphics, etc) this is top notch.     A perfect sequel. The story captivated me. It was absolutely clear that Jole died in part 2 or at least paid for what he did at the end of the first part. The game brings players to emotional limits. It shows a classic revenge spiral and its consequences. You hate Ebby at the beginning. Get to know them and their experiences and understand their actions. Understand Jole's death. NaughtyA perfect sequel. The story captivated me. It was absolutely clear that Jole died in part 2 or at least paid for what he did at the end of the first part. The game brings players to emotional limits.     Very good story. Most of the fans love Joel and Ellie, moved by their love.

    Bad thing are:
    Killing Joel wasn’t done properly and was done waaay too early on. Playing as Abby was terrible and I didn’t care about her or her friends. Abbys sex scene was super weird.( you ever get into a heated argument with someone in your friend group then Immediately start smashing?) I also didn’t really care that much about any of Ellie’s friends either. And buy the time you get to you end and you finally get to kill Abby YOU F****ING LET HER GO . NO F**K YOU Anyways , go play the first. It’s way better anyways.

In the first game, it was a story about two people traveling across the country and Joel having a second chance at having a daughter. It was truly a remarkable game and perfect storytelling wise. But in the second game it felt like telling a message more than a story. The game was telling me “Revenge is bad” over and over again. With Joel killing Abby’s dad, Abby killing Joel, Ellie killing Abby’s friends, and Abby killing Jesse, and the most disappointing part about Ellie not killing Abby as soon a she saw her. Part 2 was a horrible disappointment and I wish tlou was a standalone game. It’s hard to make a perfect sequel after a perfect game. Gameplay wise it was fun. Basically the the first game but with improvements.… Expand

    The games attention to detail is unreal the developers have created an amazing game experience as long as a story with immense draw, twists, and pull. The haters are weak af and can’t handle a good story when they see one. 10/10 no doubt

AND what do i get a story about somone I didnt even know existed in the first place and the death of the best charecter in the series in the most horrible and shameful way possible considring his 25 YEARS of experience through the apocalypse. So yeah i gave it a zreo cause somone who wanted the game to look like GOT by killing the best charecters or making them brain dead and useless. So dont play the game if you liked the first one or cherished the relationship and dynamic between the characters cause it goes down hill in the second. Forgot to metion i wanted a refund as soon as i knew about waht happend in the game through livestreams and YouTube videos and i didnt get it then i played the game for the SOLE purpose of killing abby and didnt even get that. All of its achievements in visual, voice acting, animations is mired by a messy, nonsensical plot that will leave you with a very unsatisfied taste in your mouth. Little touches like the guitar mini game started off cute the first time you do it but by the third or fourth time, it has long lost its luster and I just played horrible out of spite. So much of your game play experience will be spent with new characters, most of which aren't closed to being fully fleshed out and get discarded for shock value or to pad the plot armor for this poorly contrived, revenge driven narrative. The core mechanics of TLOUS are mostly unchanged apart from dodge and prone mechanics making the combat more fluid. However, you'll encounter the same enemies and will exploit them with the same tactics as the A.I. rarely catches on. The Joel/Ellie magic is still shines when they get their moments. Unfortunately, those moments are few and far between. While I'm glad they didn't try to shoehorn in some pointless multiplayer mode, there is no chance in hell I'd want to revisit this game which feels like a massive misstep for a franchise with so much promise.

    Pros:
    A visual eyegasam with some of the best scenery you'll ever see on current gen systems
    Extremely fluid environmental animations (water, grass, snow)
    Tons of top notch voice acting and dramatic cut scenes
    Dodge and prone mechanics added
    Branching skill tree upgrading system

    Cons:
    The storyboard is a jumbled mess of mass confusion.
    Large amounts of time spent with new characters who are poorly developed and discarded without any meaningful impact
    Gameplay becomes a repetitive slog with much of the core mechanics unchanged from the original
    The mini-games are short lived fun that get old fast and can't be accessed separately if you want to mess around with them exclusively
    Replay value is virtually non-existent with a vapid resolution that leaves the whole franchise on a broken foundation.    … Expand

I'll never truly understand why people despise this game so much, but I will say that this is was one of the most thought-provoking and emotionally draining games I've ever played. The story was one of intense grittiness and overall sadness that made you think about the repercussions of revenge and hate. One thing I was always expecting was Joel's death, however, I never imagined it to be quite on the humiliating scale it was. However, killing the main character, especially like this, does not make a story bad. The vendetta and journey Ellie goes through makes you seriously question whether this is all worth it and whether Abby deserves it. At first, I was livid for making us play as Abby, however, when you see everything from her perspective you really start to wonder if you actually want her dead. This game really made me ask myself the hard questions and really try to think about Ellie's relationship with Joel and Abby's own redemption.

    This game is not without flaws, however. There are times where I was frustrated with the pacing and it was just boring at times. Some characters could probably have used a little more development such as Jesse and Abby's friends. Additionally, the structure of killing Abby's friends and then later learning more about them (when playing as Abby) was not the smartest move on Druckman.

    The discontentment with fans is, in my opinion, over-exaggerated and uncalled for. It is completely ok to say a game is good but also has some serious flaws. But to establish a game as absolute garbage is tribal at it's finest. I can understand the anger with a much-loved character dying, however, a main character dying does not make the story bad. If you think it does, then don't watch "No Country for Old Men" or "1917." I also know that people hate the way he died, however, this was purposeful and meant to inspire intense anger within Ellie and the audience. Additionally, people in this day and age are so blinded by their political views that they will apply their tribal mindset onto any media they consume and will accuse it of having an "agenda." People are so fixated that there is an agenda with everything that they cannot just let it go for a playthrough of the game. I've never been much for political correctness and whatnot, but never once did I think "Wow, Naughty Dog is encouraging an agenda and this is too political for me." People think the entirety of this game is an "agenda" or "doesn't care about its fans" or whatever. First, we need to realize that stories should never be created solely on fan service. A story is written by an author and we as the readers/gamers experience this story and make our interpretations. Fan service is for the toxic and tribal people who decide what an author writes through mob rule. I do not feel comfortable demanding that these creators or any creator make media for how I like it and only me. I let them make the choices and tell their story, and then I make my interpretation. I do not usually establish a story as 100% bad because that is usually never true (unless it's an extremely garbage movie/game with nothing for it but a cash grab).

    This game has some annoying flaws and is far from perfect. I found this game to be excellent in some of its storytelling aspects, but questionable in some of its choices. Do not let anyone tell you how you should like a game or berate you for liking a game that they don't. Try to play the game with an open mind and try to remember that not everything in the entire world has a political agenda. This is a story about humans, and politics should be the least of your worries when playing this game. This game is very divisive and polarized when it comes to opinion, however, in actuality this game is really just in between average. But It is up to each individual on how they interpret the game, but try not to be influenced by the mob. Do not listen to me or what anyone else says, play the game and you decide for yourself if this game was worthy of a playthrough.    … Expand

Gameplay's pretty much the same from The Last of Us 1, no revolutionary way they made it more fun. Now, onto why it's terrible, the story's beyond **** Joel is the hero everyone adores from the first game, the way they killed him was terrible, he's supposed to be a seasoned veteran in no world would he be that stupid to die because he was too careless. Joel kills Abby's father, that's why Abby kills Joel, that reason was revealed so much later that it should've been, what we got was Joel saves Abby's life then Abby brutally murders him. Graphics are out of this world and the gameplay is fun, thought provoking, creative and challenging. The disrespect and hate this game gets for story moments are ridiculous. Yes, I was upset with Joel dying...but it fuelled a reason for a 2nd game. Did people really want Joel and Ellie doing nothing for the whole game?     TLOU2 requires an amount of emotional empathy on the players part. You will need to think about what is going on in someone else's head. It may not conform to how you feel at the time, but you have to be capable to discard your thoughts and feelings and empathise with someone else. You're an actor in a story, rather than a participant making choices.

    Just like the real world, there are no good or bad people. We just do what we think is right at the time, and our actions have either negative or positive consequences, based on your viewpoint. We are all also imperfect - we make mistakes, and we make irrational choices based on our emotions.

    The game makes a point of making the player reconsider their first impressions, and perhaps admit to themselves that what they thought originally was not entirely correct. We are all guilty of instantly judging a person based on a single action, without knowing the full context about why they would do it.

    "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."

    I thought the cinematic direction, cinematography, acting and story were all excellent. I found the gameplay very enjoyable too. No game is perfect, but by current gaming standards, this is as good as it gets. 10/10    … Expand

    The game is a masterpiece. Even though the plot may be opinable (it is a subjective thing anyway), as a game it is perfect. I have never seen a game with this level of detail. Every corner of every building has that single detail that makes you smile. The gameplay is perfect too, with very high level of design.

    Masterpiece. The only other game that has made me feel emotionally attatched and conflicted is The Last of Us. And they did it again with part 2. The gameplay was great and fluid. The story shakes you up, teaches lessons, and was written as perfect as one can expect. The characters are dynam 10/10.

    Espetacular. Gameplay impecável, dublagem impecável, cenários impecáveis e sem falar o tamanho dos cenários. O jogo é simplesmente um dos melhores já feitos. A ND foi a única que teve coragem pra mostrar os dois lados da moeda e fez isso com muita qualidade.

    Honestly kept me emotionally and mentally engaged just as much as the first. I was upset originally with the early turn of events but honestly that's how you write good story and invoke some kind of problematic narrative. Loved the open world feel and the visuals and acting as always!

In the first half of the game, I found it to be quite good honestly apart from earlier events that shaped the basis of this 'John wick' story concept of getting revenge and personally, I quite enjoyed this. It was still ok during the second half to me although it caused a somewhat controversial perspective to the game but it was only during the end of the game that I thought the game was becoming a bit too choppy and rushed.     Si jugaste la primer parte este te gustara, hay algunas cosas en la historia que pareciera que suceden solo porque si pero nada que te arruine la experiencia, lo único extra que le pondría para un 10 seria un multijugador cooperativo

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
