    The moment they killed off Joel it was difficult to go on and then force me to play the game as his killer! My favorite game ruined. I waited all this time for this. I want my money back, which I know will never happen

    The pacing of the story is really bad. The story in it self is decent, apart from some major plot holes and ludicrus decisions. But if ND had many ideas for the sequel, why this Is the one they wanted to tell.

    It's a story driven game and they failed. There is no other way to put it and I find it unbelievable that people actually like it... It has nothing to do about SJW or LGBT+ but Druckmann and his ethics clearly steered this game in a direction that ruined it. Just read into what happened to Amy Hennig and you will see how political this game is.
    About the plot, they use a main character    It's a story driven game and they failed. There is no other way to put it and I find it unbelievable that people actually like it... Just read into what happened to Amy Hennig and you will see how political this game is.
    About the plot, they use a main character that everyone loved and their relationships that they carried from the first game and just used shock value for the plot of the game. THIS IS JUST BAD! If you can't creatively come up with a solution or explanation for your plot but must rely on shock value and there attachment to the character and have them killed off 2 hours into the game!
    This game had so much potential and they killed it. I just feel bad for the developers, the amount of work they've put in just for one guy to screw it all up must be devastating. It's a gorgeous game but it's a story game and if the story fails the graphics can't make up for it.
    There is only 2 good scenes, Ellie in the guitar shop and the flashback to Ellie birthday. That is why I've given it a 2/10.    … Expand

    The game itself looks really nice however as a fan of the first game I feel that the story of this game dose not come close to part 1 , there is no bond with the new characters and no loyalty to the old ones, it's a revenge plot where you fail at getting revenge

    The story in this game really suffered from poor pacing and almost had a sense of laziness. The gameplay didn't have any noteworthy innovations. As a huge fan of the first game, I am deeply disappointed in how this game turned out. The game gets 2 points just for the visuals.

    Graphics are great, Shooting is still the same. It becomes repetitive really quick and becomes boring.

    But the Story? Wow this is just a petty revenge game with no payoff. They took 7 years to come up with this? Hell even Batwoman has a better storyline than this. I would rather watch the Last Jedi than play this game.

    nothing more than a b list movie from hollywood. shocking people with death, violence, revenge. nothing new. the gameplay is almost the same as the last one. we know that naughty dog was never brilliant with gameplay so it was not a surprise, beautiful graphics, and good animation.

By the end of the game, Joel has been tortured to death, Tommy has become crippled and divorced, and Ellie loses 2 fingers and everyone she ever loved. Whatever hope and optimism you had from the first game was ruthlessly trampled. It's a cruel and nihilistic game and not worth your time as a fan.

В The Last of Us 2 разрабы забыли что делают продукт для других, а не для себя. А ЛГБТ движение так агрессивно нападает на альтернативные мнения, что многие не хотят его высказывать просто чтобы не быть оскорбленными, даже когда мнение обосновано. Ведь в этой отрыжке Дракмана и Саркисян нормальные люди с однополыми сексуальными предпочтениями выставлены как моральные уроды которые вызывают антипатию. Так игры не делаются. Дракман и им подобные халтурщики забывают, что если люди не смогут спокойно высказывать свою точку зрения о своих предпочтениях, то им придется замалчивать что им на самом деле нравится и что не нравится. И возникнет парадоксальная ситуация (в общем-то нынешняя ситуация) когда люди не могут открыто сказать правду о том что плохо, но высказываться о продукте будут как о плохом, цепляясь за незначительные аспекты. Халтурщики-разрабы будут обращать внимание на эти аспекты и пытаться их исправить, но главную причину недовольства не устранят ведь о ней не говорят (а то о чем не говорят вроде бы как не проблема и этого не
    существует). И наступает момент когда никто ничего не понимает в том что нравиться людям. Вообще то люди мстительны и если не смогут откровенно высказаться о своих предпочтениях без угрозы быть оплеванными, то они будут мстить, а именно относиться без какого снисхождения. Blizzard c их китайским скандалом и diablo immortal, EA с их абсурдным battlefield 5, ни никому не нужный Mass Effect: Andromeda, Ubisoft с придурковатым far cry new dawn, Bethesda с их лживым Fallout 76, а теперь и Naughty Dog...     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. *The game has phenomenal graphics for the enviroment and models. However thats the only positive I can think about this game... maybe the guitar section too.
    *The gameplay is similar to the first game, with barely any improvements but improvements none the less
    *The story is like a badly written fanfiction of a person who has barely watched 2 hours of the originals story. The characters in it make the dumbest of choices, the main cast should have died a hudred times due to their choices alone but oh well, deus-ex stupidity is a real thing.

    2/10 just for the graphics and the slightly improved gameplay.

    The story sucks, every character from the previous game has been dumbed down to a degree that u can comfortably say they are from some bizarro universe, the ending is anti-climactic. The story is trying too hard to force on us that only Ellie's revenge, who's at this point is the most justified is bad. Abby who's from start to finish the most unikeable character in the game is forced on us, after she has killed the most beloved character in the game and they try so hard to justify her, to make her likeable but all they do is make you hate her more. They also really tried to make Ellie unlikeable in this game, they took everything from her. She goes on a rampage to kill Abby, kills all of Abby's friends, gets one of her good friends killed, goes through hell and back just to say "Fk it" and doesn't kill the only person who actually mattered to her revenge since she was the one that killed Joel.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Finished the game yesterday and honestly, I'm just frustrated. I played TLOU 1 for the first time in 2014 (the remastered edition) and I loved it, so I was very hyped when the sequel was announced. The thing is this game is just awful. I was able to avoid all mayor spoilers but if I knew this was going to be this bad, I wouldn't have spent 70 dollars in this crap.
    SPOILERS BELOW

    Now, to start, the graphics are great but the gameplay is pretty much like in TLOU1 with some new additional mechanics. They could've changed the general gameplay in those 7 years between 1 and 2, but after all, it works. Those are the only things "good" things I can say about this game.

    Now, why the game sucks.
    Just within the first 2/3 hours not only does the game has major plot holes, but it kills Joel. Literally, it just kills him in the worst way possible. The problem with this is that Joel is the best character of the first game, and to have him killed of like that just sucks. Joel's death is the reason why Ellie sets out on a revenge quest... which hardly feels as one. Not a single moment makes you feel like you are avenging Joel, it just feels like Ellie going in a killing rampage just because of the sake of it.

    Then there is the problem with Ellie. My issue isn't with her being a lesbian. No, the problem is that she is not the likable and compelling character that she was in the first game, her personality is weak and she's just a plain, unlikable teenager that kills people. She is no longer that great character that transformed Joel in the first game. Apart from that, the game sets her in a revenge quest, in which she kills lots of people in order to reach and kill Abby(Joel's killer) only to let her go because, apparently, violence is bad (even tho you've just killed hundreds of people in the last 24 hours). It makes the game pointless and it sucks, because the ONLY person you really wanted to kill is the only one that you can't, it's just crap.

    Other issue with this game is the hole Abby thing. The fact that you must use her as a character half of the time sucks. Why would I want to play as Joel's killer? She's a bad character and it's impossible to enjoy playing as her. I bought the game to play with either Joel or Ellie, not this crappy character.

    And finally, in consequence of this, the game ends up being just... violence, which for a 24-hour game ends up being repetitive. The first one was violent, sure, but it also had great storytelling, great characters and character development. This game lacks one of the best things about its predecessor that is the relationship between Joel and Ellie.

    I waited this game for years and for them to make such a terrible one just disappointed me. They introduced a new, awful character who you are forced to play with, destroyed Ellie's character and killed off Joel, their best character, in the worst and stupidest way possible. The story ended up being crap and ruined what could've been one of the best franchises in videogame history. I’m giving this game a 2 instead of a 1 only because of the gameplay and graphics. Do yourself a favour and don't buy it, save that money.    … Expand

Season 8 of GOT was the most beautiful looking show that received the highest tv viewers for the last 6 episodes. Guess what, nobody talks about GOT anymore because the writing was inconsistent and bad. That is what will happen to TLOU2 due to bad writing. Graphics were great, but the game falls through if you want to kill a character in this game that you have to play for half the game.… Expand

    Which idiot actually think forcing player to play as killer for much beloved character is actually a good idea? No amount of graphics, sound design is able to save this mess. The gameplay is pretty dated and virtually unchanged from PS3 version. Save your money, don't buy this.

    The plot is made to meet the needs of those for whom the standard two genders (male and female) are an insult. Good gameplay and that’s all. The plot is not interesting, drawn out. Replayability 0. I do not know how to make such a mediocre scenario. Therefore 2.

    艾莉一上来直接扔个小沙盒地图给你玩，之后又都是传统线性流程，设计思路令人不解。
    艾莉线性流程的地图做的蛮大，室内细节很丰富，程序员996工时拉满。同时也导致关卡节奏特别缓慢，搜货费时。（怀疑艾莉章节是制作组赶工为了凑游戏时长才做成这样的）
    艾莉新的这些年轻伙伴刻画的都十分浅薄，都是些末世滥交故事。开局谈恋爱虽然土但至少有几句话聊，之后一路上都在聊死天，全是些没价值的复读。非常怀念初代和乔尔的各种脚本对话。
    相比之下埃比的流程设计就比较像初代的感觉了，关卡演出有料，游玩节奏正好。和几个朋友一路上有说有笑，彼此之间都有着真感情。艾莉那些朋友甚至不如埃比朋友圈里的一条狗来的有意思。
    虽然目前还没通关，但TLOU2的叙事流程真的蛮屎，故事内容本身其实OK，但导演却选择用非常烂的方式放送，真的有点可惜了这么好的游戏内容设计。
    剧情这些就不说了，行尸走肉老一套了。
    真正该骂的应该是顽皮狗这回的游戏设计，艾莉这部分的GAMEPLAY真的有失水准。

    通关以后再来补充一些个人观点，尽量不剧透（难啊）
    游戏的故事部分我觉得是蛮自洽的，尤其是在看了这么多年的行尸走肉电视剧以后。整个故事的来龙去脉都算是说到了，虽然是美剧水平的故事，但他也是个故事。同时我也无法站在没看过行尸走肉美剧的角度去客观评价最后生还者2的故事了。
    人物们的行为逻辑和心理状态描写的还行，虽然描写各个角色的篇幅并不是那么的足，都差点意思，但还是能琢磨出来他所想要表达的意思。
    过场动画的运镜剪辑虽然不是顶级，但顽皮狗在人物面部表情和肢体动作表达上下了狠功夫，能让玩家更好的去人物的心理活动（如果你能注意得到）。

    虽然故事自洽，但叙事结构是真的屎。又或者说是顽皮狗敢于挑战，挑战不可能。
    有着千百种更好的叙述方法，但我就不。今天就是要挑战一下先让玩家恶心、狂怒，最后再放下狂怒实现自我救赎（陷入抑郁）。同时也能创造话题性，拥有不错的热度（好榜样行尸走肉第七季）。但结果是毁掉了整个叙事，

    游戏发现前大肆宣传了艾莉的女友，蒂娜。而蒂娜这个角色在游戏中刻画的有点“肤浅”。把前期宣传消费了这么多的角色描写成一个滥交、自私的双性恋。虽然是在这样的一个末世背景下，虽然这种末世故事为追求“真实感”都喜欢滥交情节，虽然蒂娜也才刚刚成年，但未免还是有些恶心人、不尊重人了。
    表面上蒂娜和艾莉你侬我侬激情似火携手共进，但实际上双方也只是在满足各自的私欲。（至于杰西，唉）比起艾莉和乔尔的真感情，末世背景下的恋爱 距离真爱差的还远呢。

    包括之前提的埃比流程做的比艾莉流程 游戏节奏更好，故事内容更饱满，也是在刻意的恶心玩家吧。“虽然我手里都是顶级食材，但我就是要试试这个全新的特别配方”。
    至于真正的制作负责人是否真的故意想要恶心所有角色、所有玩家、所有媒体和所有人并颠覆一切，这只有他自己知道了。

    最值得称赞的地方只有战斗部分，新加入的动作系统和顶级的敌人AI使得游戏战斗部分的体验达到了业界新的高度。战神5真的该偷学起来了。
    虽然游戏画质并没有超脱PS4PRO这台机器的性能限制，但美术部分做出的努力令人赞叹。顽皮狗为了调整画质应该耗费了大量的精力，不容易。非常期待PS5上高画质版的表现，光影效果拉满！
    所有的这一切让最后生还者2显得更加可惜，更加遗憾了。    … Expand

It seems in favor of a fine tuned story true to the world they created, they favored shock and drama with no emotional pay off. I can deal with a lackluster story is the gameplay is okay, but the narrative they used is poor and draining to the point of not being any fun a all. Its not a game you look forward to playing. I knew it would be an emotional roller-coaster, but it lost all of the redeeming attributes of the first. It is so flawed that it actively detracts from the rest of the game that they got right.… Expand

It should have been a story about growth and affection, lies and understanding. The storyline is the issue, a BIG issue. I mean I loved The Last of Us 1. Everything about that game was 10 out of 10. I brought the $200.00 Ellie Collector’s edition, that's how much of a fanboy I am. WASTE of money. No one cares about ABBY! How do you kill Joel in like under an hour into a 25-hour game? I mean if he's going to die, have him go out much better than he did in this trash of a game. When you play as Abby, it's so long and pointless. There's one part of Abby's story where she wants to save some scar person so she goes ALL the way back to the hospital making it so pointlessly boring. They could have added more with Ellie and Joel, but nope lest just play as Abby because people should care about ABBY. WOW, 7 years wait for crap! And it is Crap! It's a WOKE game hardcore. I didn't even finish the game because I'm so bored with Abby's storyline. Killing one of the most beloved people in the game so early and the way he went out, total dumpster fire of a game. I hope people save their $60 and when it goes on sale, Still don't buy it. Such as massive flop!… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This story doesn't even follow a revenge is bad narrative. It seems to be just a story of random events happening that we're supposed to care for because of the work in character development from the first game.

    Abby got her revenge, showed no remorse for her murders, then got to sail off into the sunset and start a new better life after killing Joel and a bunch of her own people.

    Ellie had absolutely nothing to do with the decisions Joel made killing fireflies, she's just trying to give justice to Abby from her POV. Ellie showed remorse and was traumatized by her actions. Yet in the end it's Ellie who loses everything.

Joel and Tommy would have never given their real names out to a large group of strangers knowing the fireflies where potentially hunting them. Abby holds on to the hate of Joel for 4 years and has absolutely no remorse or unease about killing someone who just saved her life multiple times. This just shows Abby is a psychopath and needed to be put down. They then continue to have Ellie slaughter hundreds of people to get to Abby just to let her go.... They also showed Joel in scenes in trailers that he's not in so you buy the game thinking you get to play as Joel at some point and that he's alive through most of the game. However, he's killed within the first couple of hours. They then force you to play as Abby for 10ish hours AFTER you kill Joel. No one cares to play as Abby after what she did to a beloved character. All around it's just a bad story which you can't have in a STORY DRIVEN game. If TellTale had crappy stories no one would play their games. It contains the same gameplay as the first game with the same dumb AI and Good graphics.… Expand

    The original game had the perfect story. We saw a beautiful father-daughter-like relationship blossom in the most horrible zombie-apocalyptic world. In this sequel, everything we loved was discarded. Naughty Dog took the opportunity to write the spiritual successor to Brokeback Mountain. It is inexplicable that they took seven years to produce a game with a story none of its fans wanted.The original game had the perfect story.     I have been a fan for a long time
    I used to think that every games that your studio made is a masterpiece and is worth every dollars spent
    When the leak spreads, i simply couldnt believe it, but i didnt care and waited until the game eventual release date...
    I was so happy when my copy arrives and i get to play it from start to finish.
    I will give my verdict
    The story is full of plot holes, the characters didnt act like their own self, no character development, story is questionable and pointless....
    And lastly you killed off a character that majority of fans loves and he is the reason that many wants to play the sequel, im fine with him dying, but the way he died is an insult to him, Joel from the first game wouldnt simply trust strangers and let them in their base armed to the core..so he is very out of character here and to add more insult.... Neil Druckkman himself mocapped himself as manny just to spit on Joels corpse...that is a disespect on another whole level, and lastly you too released this on fathers day....
    Congratulation ND you just killed a beloved game.

The story doesn't live up to the usual quality of Naughty Dog story telling.I sincerely hope this isn't the new norm. And I really hope this story is retconned because the characters and the fans deserved better after waiting so long.

    4. Game was too damn long which didn't work in favor for the gameplay that got incredibly boring and repetitive due to how long the game was.
    5. The new characters were treated better than the old ones. All the old characters were spit upon and the newcomers were treated with way more respect (i.e Lev and Abby).
    6. The ending was awful "revenge is bad" but the person who started the cycle of revenge gets away Scott free and constantly comes out on top against Ellie in the game (losing her friends doesn't count as her suffering, Abby's friends were punished for her actions, not her, unlike Ellie who lost her lover, baby, tommy and her fingers)
    7. They have the audacity to try and force you to feel empathy for Abby and her group. If they introduced her backstory and stuff way earlier and then she killed Joel it would have more impact. But having her kill Joel first thing and then expecting us to feel sorry for her is stupid. It's poor writing.
    8. The character development was non existent. There's no need to explain this because it's blatantly obvious.
    9. The false advertisement and the intentional misleading in the trailers is disgusting. It's deplorable that a company would intentionally swap character models, and ADD character models to trick consumers into believing something that isn't true just so they can sell copies.
    10. A better story would be Dina being murdered and Ellie decides to get revenge on her girlfriend by tracking these people down and Joel comes with her. The rest of the journey is about Ellie dealing with all this anger she has inside from Dina's death, to Joel lying to her and so on and so forth and Joel helping her deal with the anger as well as repairing the relationship they lost after Ellie finds out the truth about what happened during the events of the end of the first game. Then Joel goes out saving Ellie or sacrifices himself. The walking dead telltale series did Lee's death perfectly. That's how you give a good character a good death that fans are sad but not angry about.    … Expand

Ok, so I will start off by saying I did NOT spend MY money to play this game, my cousin bought it and we spent a weekend and knocked it out, so this does affect my overall thoughta. I'm going to start with the pros- The game is gorgeous, and the physics are amazing. Pretty much the only pros. Cons- the story is very lacking, and the killing off the main character from the first game has a whole bunch of issues around it. While they use a guise of a revenge plot that carries through the whole game, as someone who played last of us a week before release to get refreshed, the problems with the way it was approached become very apparent. Ignoring all the agenda pushing comments, as that value is different for everyone, mymain problem is Joel is killed much too early, and the character he is replaced with is so new to the point where it makes me WANT to dislike her. I would definitely reccomend playing the game, but do so if you do not have to pay for it, or it is on an extreme sale. 60 dollars for a good looking, but awful story is not worth it. Pick it up for 20 bucks or less down the road and save your money for the new consoles and games that come out that will be infinitely much better this winter!!!!!… Expand

The strongest characters turned into weakest ones whom you want to slap hard to get over themselves and get **** done. Obviously, no happy ending is possible all things considered, but it could have been executed so much better. The characters we got to know in TLOU1 are left in TLOU1, cause TLOU2 has nothing to do with them apparently. No more characters or relationship development. Ellie is the most depressive, moody and plainly horrible to Joel. She did everything to leave him behind, between her attitude towards him until the very last moment when she let Abby go. Which in turn Ellie decides to not kill Abby. WTF?!!? So that whole journey we went though just to kill this girl and now she's alive?! Also there's a super forced, awkward sex scene and Joel dies and the game was overall just annoying after a while.     First Abby kills the most beloved character in the franchise, then I am forced to play more than half the game with her, it made no sense to me, even showing the other side of the story, I only wanted Abby dead...

    After that having to fight against Ellie? Nonsense, since my anger was directed at killing Abby for what she did.

    For me the ideal would be:

    1. Joey and Tommy are cornered by Abby and her group, Ellie arrives at the moment and sees Joey all bloodied being thrown out the window or falls from a very high height and he is presumed dead.

    2. Ellie begins her revenge journey with help from Tommy, Jesse and Dina for gameplay.

    3. You wouldn't play with Abby

    4. At the end of the game Ellie manages to reach Abby by invading the Stadium where the Wlf (wolf) are, but in the end they manage to capture Ellie, Dina, and Jessy.

    Tommy manages to escape.

    5. Tommy discovers that Joey survived the fall and injuries, and the gameplay at the end of the game is with Joey against the entire wlf army

    **** it! Against everything and everyone to save Ellie!
    In the end Ellie hugs Joey asking him for forgiveness and calls him dad ...

    There you go

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. i walked into this game with an open mind & the benefit of the doubt. i knew about the leaks, but i chose not to believe them. joke's on me. EVERYONE felt so out of character. joel's death was awful and insulting, but maybe i could've looked past that if the story got better. spoiler alert, it didn't.

    the heart of the last of us was ellie & joel's relationship. and then you tell me that ellie's been mad at joel for YEARS? and then joel gets killed by a bunch of characters we couldn't care less about? not to mention, it was extremely convenient how they found him. and by extrememly convenient, i mean lazy storytelling. another thing that bugged me was how ellie & tom's grief was depicted. sure, this whole game is that they both make it their sole mission to get revenge, but they didn't feel like they were grieving (until the very end, but the end is a whole OTHER story). and abby. goddamn abby. listen, i know what they were trying to do. but they failed. abby's character is not likeable at all (none of her friends are, either). her story might've been the game's attempt at making us see her side, but it felt like an aggravation. her father was willing to KILL A KID. A KID WHO WOULD'VE PROBABLY DIED FOR NOTHING. because there WERE others like ellie, but for some reason this game forgot about that. and the ending was just. hollow. it leaves you feeling empty, and not the good empty. heck, if it ended at the point where ellie & dina were living in their little farm i could've digested it. but it dragged on and on and ellie lost EVERYTHING and for WHAT? to drive in that 'revenge is bad'? that's a too cliche lesson that is NOT worth all that was lost. ellie deserved better than just walking into the woods alone to god knows where. it's like the developers missed the WHOLE point of why people liked the last of us. personally, i loved TLOU because of its story, a story about two people who couldn't be more different finding each other in a world with no mercy. how no matter how awful things got, they had each other. i loved TLOU because of its message of love and hope and found family. TLOU2 was bleak and about hate and never felt like it was a sequal to the last of us. they tried to flip the script, do something new, and it failed miserably. i could never accept this mess as canon. on the other hand, i have to give the actors & animators & world builders credit. they did a wonderful job. the gameplay was good, albeit a bit repititive. but it wasn't worth it. they should've just taken the success of the first one and left. it's a shame.    … Expand

    The first game was gold. Great great story and super gameplay but this is horrible. I know that everybody wants to show how much they want to be supportive of the “minorities “ but please dont force me to agree. The game looks great but the story is terrible. I quit halfgame and hope I can sell it. Really sucks to see this happen to a game with so much potential. Didn’t rate 1 because ofThe first game was gold.     Just completed the game disgusted with how they treated the game makes me angry~
    waste of money after trying to hide from spoilers so the whole game was for nothing great ending

    thanks Neil 10/10 my ass never trust critics.

    Only good thing i can say was the graphics which is expected on the end of a generation anyway.

Hated it...hated the way they shat on Joel, then being forced to play as the character you now hate the most. It's pretty and it's mechanically adequate so far as gameplay (tho combat is a bit clunky) I completely agree with the reviewers who said graphics 10...and everythingI tried to shrug off the negative buzz around this game.     The storyline of the game will leave so unsatisfied and angry. The whole ending makes the entire storyline about revenge feel pointless. There is absolutely no empathy for Abby and I wanted to die every time they make you play as her. what a waste of a sequel the only thing improved is the graphics.

I wasted 5 days of my life watching playthroughs of this game to get the worst ending in a game of my entire life. I'm just your average Joe who still enjoys video games, going into early adulthood. Since my very first NES console, I knew there and then that video games would be a huge part of my life. I even plan to play video games into my elderly years (hopefully being able to share them with my children, then grandchildren).

    I follow a golden rule of thumb in life which is "set your expectations very low so you can never be disappointed". Having said that, I went in as open-minded as I could be with zero expectations, just as I had for the original TLOU1:Remastered. TLOU1:Remastered was an absolute masterpiece. The sequel is tragic travesty.

    Strong storytelling was all but missing. The story of TLOU1:Remastered was the selling point of the original. The characters we fell in love with in the original were disrespected without cause or provocation in this sequel. We are then forced upon with new characters that simply did not earn our appreciation, respect or adulation yet. Imagine if in the near God of War sequel, Kratos was not playable and instead a completely new character just assumed his spot. Wouldn't Atreus and the player playing the game suddenly question "who the heck are you and why am I forced now to play you when I bought this game to play as Kratos and Atreus?" The Spartan rage in that dilemma would certainly be understandable to its faithful fans who felt betrayed and sold on deceitful lies aka false marketing.

    The game play is based on the same template as the original, minus 2 new functions of crawling and dodging. Now that can be good or bad. In my experience, it was bad. In the original it was simply good because it was the first time players were introduced to that system so it was fresh. Waiting 7 years just to see virtually no exciting change to said game play system was just plain sad. It can get very boring, very quickly and it did for me ultimately.

    The soundtrack is mesmerizing and beautiful. Gustavo Santaolalla 's work was simply phenomenal. It's just a shame that music wasn't used as often throughout the game. This scored 1 point for the review.

    The other 1 point goes to the visuals. I cannot and won't lie that the visuals of the game is absolutely gorgeous. It truly pushes the PS4 and PS4 Pro's hardware capabilities to its limit (complimented by the jet engine that goes off on the console during heavily rendered scenes). The visuals are some of the best of this generation of consoles.

    In summary, I was deeply disappointed by a franchise with a proven track record of offering some of the best video games, only for it to fully betray its loyal fans and patrons. This is coming from a guy who walked into the sequel with an open-mind, as they requested. Even with such low expectations from the start I could not fathom having this travesty on my PS4 Pro any longer. I was fair in the sense that I played through the game, and nowhere through my 25+ hours of play through did I have the same magical feeling of awe and emotional connect that I did for the original masterpiece. Please be warned: there is absolutely NO FUN involved with the sequel. Naughty Dog themselves already relayed in a PR statement that they the word FUN should never be associated with their games. Well one word they should be associated with is FRAUD. They clearly know what they are doing and have done to its fans and patrons. The creative director himself, Neil Druckmann could care less if you enjoyed the game or not. If anything, this was a brilliant marketing scheme that allowed him and the people at Naughty Dog to laugh all the way to the bank with their bags and bags of pre-order money. There are absolutely no losers from this sequel, just winners: Naughty Dog and their bank accounts. Suffice to say I will not be purchasing any future products from Naughty Dog - they simply lost my trust and loyalty.    … Expand

    But story breaks pleasure. If this game had less concentration on the characters my score would be much higher.
    And the loss of my favorite character at the very beginning... For what? For make 2020 better!?

Second, I used Google Translate to convert my text to English. Therefore, perhaps the literal meaning may be altered. During the course of history, a monotonous gameplay is perceived and unattractive to the players. Unfortunately this applies in the story too, through Ellie's "revenge" which seems to have totally changed her personality. In fact, ALL the characters in the first game are not really them. Ellie often in the game seems to have bipolarity (nothing against those who have), like for example: before going out with Jess to go after Tommy, Ellie said she would do anything to rescue him, but a few minutes go by. the same character sets aside Tommy's rescue to "kill" Abby. In addition to Joel, a man who spent more than twenty years in this apocalyptic world, learning not to trust anyone, was killed in a ridiculous way, simply for believing in a stranger (Abby) who was running away from several infected. I don't care if Joel died, the important thing was to kill the character in a dignified way. The worst part is that the game forces you to play with Joel's killer, they could launch Abby's gameplay in a future DLC, so it didn't force the player to control her. This culminated in a horrible ending, after killing several people does Ellie think that not killing Abby would end the cycle of revenge? After everything she went through, including the death of Jesse / Joel, the loss of both fingers, among others. The game could have the option of the player himself to choose what to do, it would be better.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
