Going to buy and play Baldur's Gate 3, looks dope. Won't be buying anything that has identity politics. I get enough of that in RL don;t need it in my entertainment.… Expand

This game is entitled The Last Of Us: Part II, implying its the second part of The Last Of Us, the 2013 game that tells the story of Joel and Ellie. Now, Ellie is in the box art, in every promotional material, its the first face you see when you launch the game. I bought this to play as Ellie, with Ellie, to suffer with her, to laugh with her, to have my heart pumping with her. Halfway through the game, my moments with her are taken away from me, and I'm forced to play with a random girl. This is not why I bought this game. In no moment, during these years of promotion it was said half the game I would be forced to play with a character I have no interest in. That's the why I'm giving it a two.     It really pains me to write this review since I'm such a huge fan of the first last of us. I feel like naughty dog just spit on its loyal fans by killing off a loved character like Joel in the first 2 hours by a random character. Then proceed to make us play as that character for half of the game. The biggest issue i have with this game is how they portrayed it in trailers making it seem like it was going to be another adventure with Joel and Ellie. El juego obliga a ver las cosas con cierta carga política (No tiene que ver en absoluto con la orientación amorosa o sexual de Ellie) y obliga a perdonar, sentir o manejar a personajes imposibles de empatizar, lo bueno que no hay juegos parecidos que trasmitan esta sensación de odio sin sentido, tambien los gráficos, laGuión decepciona en casi todo, desencantado y defraudado con el final. As for the visuals, they were fantastic. I will give the game that it has some of the best visuals and ambiance I've seen in years. It was disappointing as I really wanted to like the game, especially considering how much I enjoyed the first game. Otherwise the plot and pacing is erratic. There are numerous flashbacks throughout the game that although they are quite enjoyable would have been much better placed in different parts of the game. I would explain more, but I'm trying to keep this review spoiler free. I think its ridiculous that anyone is saying the game is bad simply because Ellie is in a relationship with Dina. There's no reason that should detract from the game or story. Although I will say that Dina's character was quite boring in my opinion, like many other characters from the game. It seems like they could have done a lot more with many of the characters, main and supporting. They just simply didn't play a large enough role in the plot or really express themselves much. Especially considering that Naughty Dog has shown they know how to write good characters and character development in prior games. All in all it is a lackluster game when compared to The Last of Us 1. If we are not comparing the two at all, although it would still be lackluster it is not really a bad game. It's just much worse in comparison to its predecessor. I did like some new parts of the gameplay such as the increase in skills able to unlock with medicine and some of the new ways to use terrain. However, neither really adds that much to the game. Realistically I would rate the game a 2.5. It's an alright game, but again it is just to lacking in comparison to the first game. Regardless, I still think Naughty Dog makes good games, I just feel like they severely missed the mark on this one. Worse being that it was on such a beloved IP.… Expand

    The terrible story ruins this technological masterpiece being perhaps the best looking game on the PS4. the games mechanics and background can only carry a story driven game so far. The character development is weak and the lack of empathy I felt for Abby is a clear sign of a bad character that the developers attempted to be relatable.

Yes, the visuals and gameplay is solid, what’s expected from Naughty Dog with what they have on their backs (Uncharted franchise) Some parts of the story is solid too, the flashbacks of Ellie and Joel are heartwarming and heartbreaking as well. Now that I got the positive out of the way, the game is overall garbage. How is the developer going to kill a beloved and meaningful character in such a sad and distasteful way? Joel dying part of the story? Okay. But at least make it memorable, poetic, or heroic. Don’t just kill him off by pinning him down and having no hopes of survival. Story plot fail to deliver completely. Imagine you’re gonna go watch a spider man movie or a captain America movie and right from the start they kill them off? That’s exactly what occurred here. Now with that out of the way, okay Joel died now what?     Preferia ter visto a história pelo youtube do que ter gasto quase 300 reais na pré venda!

Recuerdo que cuando jugué al primero con unos 14 años me encantó, el Gameplay no era nada del otro mundo, pero la historia era tan buena que realmente no importaba, además de que los gráficos eran increíbles para ser un juego de 2013, y ha día de oh me siguen pareciendo sublimes.

    Tras finalizarlo lo primero que sentí fue un vacío interior, ya que las 11 o 12 horas que dura me las pase como un niño y sabía que podría rejugar el juego, pero nunca sentiría lo mismo.Ademas pensé que era el juego perfecto para no tener secuela, ya que el final era suficientemente redondo y las cosas que se estiran acaban mal.

    Me emociones increíblemente cuando salió el trailer el 2017 creo recordar y desde entonces hasta que ha salido he estado totalmente hypeado.

    El juego lo he comprado de salid y me arrepiento muchisimo.Parece un fan fickal echo.

    Lo que tiene de bueon es que tiene unos gráficos y animaciones despanpanantes, ya está, eso es todo.

    El combate por mucho que se diga que no no es nada del otro mundo, han puesto lo del l1 para esquivar,las grietas y echarte a tierra y ya esta, aunque esto no me molestas mucho.

    Lo que si me molestas es la historia, y esque esta clase de juegos se supone que se basa en eso, la narrativa.Para empezar la muerte de Joel es totalmente forzada y denigrante para el personaje, además de matarle se le tortura y todo con Tommy y Ellie delante.Mas adelanté, por conveniencias del guió, se les deja vivos a los dos personajes anteriormente citados.

    Ellie emprende su venganza junto a dina, la novia, más o menos, y durante la persecución hablan de cosas totalmente banales y disfrutan del paisaje.Mas tarde controlamos al personaje que ha matado a joel, una idea genial.El final es irrisorio y todo el juego está cojido con pinzas

    Supongo que naugthy dog quería enseñaros que la venganza es mala, y que en este mundo no existen ni los buenos ni los malos, pero esta relaizado de una manera patética y sin ningún sentido.Para mi este videojuego no es canon.

Game starts out pretty solid, iffy on Joel dying in the first roughly two hours, but whatever. Then we get to play as Abby... I have never cared about any character or subplots less than her’s. We don’t care about her and Owen. We don’t care about the crammed-in war against the Seraphites. We don’t care about any of that. ND somehow found a way to water down the specialness of their own main character in their own game. The whole “two sides of the same coin” gimmick just feels tacky and subtle as a sledgehammer. Ellie collects trading cards, Abby collects coins. Ellie couldn’t swim, Abby can’t be up high in the air. Mel was pregnant, so was Dina. You can’t make this stuff up, they really thought they were onto something with this. And don’t give me any of that anti lgbt or transphobic stuff, Abby being masculine has nothing to do with my critique or mostly anyone’s. Makes the sex scene a little off-putting (yeah you get a good look at her naked in the game) but it’s not a valid reason to dislike her. Her inclusion, body type and looks aside, is still the main thing that ruins this game. It’s almost as if ND gave us Ellie to focus on and care about and gave us Abby almost like how your mom made you take your younger sibling with you to places as a kid; you’re still having some fun, but man did they REALLY have to come too?

    In conclusion if you’ve read this far- game was good until they shoehorned Abby in there and expected us to like her. Could’ve been a great game but ND dropped the ball.    … Expand

    I play TLOU for the Story.
    I understand the point of the story but it is so poorly done it's painful!
    It's a very beautiful game that plays well but that doesn't really matter cus of the story. You could have made this story to a ok one by reversing the order of some parts but it still is just an ok story at that point.     Just finished it after 27 hours. this game left me mentally exhausted and feeling empty inside and not in a good way it tries teaching you revenge is bad but the only thing I learned is if I go kill someone I better finish it so everything I did to find the person doesn't feel so meaningless

It’s like they forgot everything that made the first one great. Every single character has zero depth, and some of them are forced down your throat. I did not found myself invested in any character, which sadly even includes Ellie. The best part of the game is the flashbacks. characters make stupid and unbelievable decisions, and the game is filled with them. I would list them here but the list is too long. I genuinely struggled to finish the game, that’s how bored and uninterested i became. it felt like it was put together at the last second, full of lazy ass writing and one dimensional characters. There is way too much to hate about this game. They constantly push the revenge is bad theme, and then totally sabotage it in the end. Lemme explain, abby kills joel because he murdered his father, and she lost all her friends because of it but still gets to live with his new ally, Lev. Ellie that lets go of the whole revenge, loses jessie, dina leaves her, gets her arm broken, almost gets beat to death, murders people and a pregnant woman that continue to traumatise her, ptsd and two fingers. Oh and tommy **** hates her too. It’s like she lost everything and she was the one that let go of the revenge. First one was a timeless masterpiece, and should’ve been left alone.… Expand

They killed Joel and made him and Ellie the partial antagonist of the last game. Then even better, Ellie doesn’t even get revenge. At the end, she let’s Abby go for God knows what. And also, the LGBT agenda is fine by me, but this is not a place it belongs. Something can not have gay people in it, and it not be homophobic. I have met countless gamers online and talked to them about the push of the LGBT and they are hardily disappointed in this game. They are rationally disgusted with the idea that because of this age, everything needs to be gay appropriated. Like I said. Im perfectly fine with gays or trans people being a thing and having rights, but that does not mean you force it down the throats of people awaiting a game that should be Game of the Year.… Expand

    This is such a lazy story it’s really sad how little of an effort was put into writing this games story you don’t have to take my word for it do yourself a favor look up the game on YouTube and see what several trusted reviewers are saying the only points this game gets is for graphics utter disappointment.

I am only giving 2 stars for the technical aspects of the game but since this is a heavily story-driven game and also a continuation of a wonderful game the story becomes the biggest factor to consider and since it is worse than trash perhaps my score should be even lower. But the fake advertisements of the game has to take the crown! No, you won't play with nor as Joel at any present time of the game, and you will have to play with joe's horrible killer (Abby) for HOURS upon hours (almost like HALF the game) and then fight Ellie as her!!… Expand

I decided to give it a try, I played the first one and I felt empathy with Joel and Ellie. They were trying to survive the desolation, destruction and bleak landscapes and cities. Joel was a pesimistic character and Ellie was a strong girl with attitude, Both characters were meant to each other, to support each other in order to survive and find a meaning to their journey, enduring hard choice and taking risks, and they made it but a what cost. So I wanted to see them again, to see what is the future this game prepared for them, together. BUT WHY THE F#:$'@ did you kill Joel on the very 2 hours of the game and forced me to play with a Shi#@y stupid character that killed him in front of Ellie. OH WOW SHOCK VALUE, AM I RIGHT GUYS? It works 1000% of the time. How this time could possibly fail? Well Neil, let me tell you... I played the game to play with Ellie and Joel, not with characters that belongs to a teenager telltale game with dull story and non-existent character development. You tried so hard to push a **** propaganda. I support diverstity, I'm gay but something I learn is that I don't have to shove to the face my beliefs or ideas, I need to educate, to make people aware, to show them that is normal to encounter people with different ways of thinking and living. But you instead pushed a really ankward relationship and a lot of unnecesary tension between Ellie and Dina. What make it worse is the driving plot of "I Will avenge Joel but at the very last minute I will show that killing is bad because that will make me a better person".... Dear god, if I only had trusted those leaks. You know what? I will request a refund. There is no replay value or fun, or even a decent story... Its just a shallow shadow sorrounded by darkness. Sorry for my large review but man, I really feel cheated and sad because I know for things like this, another TLOUS is not going to happen... ever. Only thing I liked, the graphics.     Despite the leaks and rumors, I tried to give this game the benefit of the doubt as TLOU1 was one of the best story-driven games I've ever played. The Joel-Ellie dynamic was a huge part of that game. When a game disposes of that dynamic in favour of new unlikeable characters and is devoid of all logic, it just completely ruins the legacy of a game like TLOU. There will be a moment in the game where Mel and Abby, who are both women, have better shooting scores than Owen. Because women are surely better at that. And I am not trying to be sexist, the developers are being overly tolerant, ugly ass women all of them could have been 100x more appealing, but no. The sjw is so visible, not even hidden. The graphics and gameplay are a ****ing 9-10 but we expected an amazing story from naughty dog, we know they can do that, and it was at the very BEST lack-****ing-luster.     This game takes everything you loved from the first game and destroys it. Not only that, but in order to tell the story in The Last of Us Part 2, the characters are forced into nonsensical and ridiculous situations. They behave entirely differently to the characters you remember from the first game. It reminded me of Game of Thrones Season 8, where characters are forced to behave nonsensically to push the narrative forwards. It is much the same in this game. The new characters that are introduced are utterly unlikeable, no matter how much the game is begging you to like them. As a side note and from a female perspective, I am also fed up of 'strong female character' = 'muscled, unemotional she-man". There are strong female characters that maintain their femininity in gaming such as Ellie in the first game and Lara Croft in the new tomb raider series. Female characters can be feminine whilst still being strong, we don't have to adopt a ton of masculine traits and I wish game developers would realise this. I want to play as characters I relate to and unfortunately the characters completely fail in this game.

    The graphics are stunning, though they have made some character models, such as Ellie, far uglier in Part 2. The gameplay is much the same from the first game. Unfortunately the story makes this game unplayable and left a horrible taste in my mouth upon completing it. I would rather pretend this entry into the franchise doesn't exist and have The Last of Us as a standalone title.    … Expand

Don't get me wrong the first 2 ish hours were awsome then the "scene" happened and it destroyed the game. The original last of us was a succes because you cared about the characters, in this game i didn't care about anyone. It was no chemistry between them and if one died so what. Like i cared about bill in the first one he was funny and had a personality. All that gameplay for the worst possible ending, don't know who pitched this idea of how the story should be but damn it really sucks that you made something this bad from something that was so great to begin with. I understand that it's hard to live up to the expectations but you just went all in and didn't think twice about it. And the whole thing with making people think it's gonna be a journey with joel and ellie because of the trailer where he still was very much alive and asking if she she really are gonna go through with this was very misleading. Well you can always hope you make something good with the multiplayer i guess You had a game who were well known for the story you made another one well known for the story but not for a good reason, waited 7 years for this. Joel, an eternally-careful and experienced character, willingly gives up his identity. This leads to his brutal death. Ellie then goes on a rampage to avenge his death, killing pregnant women, dogs, etc. along the way. She then stops short of killing the actual person responsible. It is an aggressively stupid plot, monotone in its characters and their motives. Anyway, graphics are some of the best ever. Gameplay is about the same as last time. But for a narrative-driven game, the narrative was poorly executed. I feel bad for the technical talent and time that went into this inherently flawed game. I'll never forgive Druckmann, who clearly still needs his hand held by professionals. He's a confident hack--the very worst kind.… Expand

Gameplay, graphics and etc. are pretty good, not on the top level, but good. And the main problem isn't Neil's desire to please leftists. The main problem is the story, the plot, it's so bad, so disappointing, but first of all - it's not even close to the First part. Second half of the game... It was very-very difficult to make fans feel something good to Abby, killer of Joel! And all this stuff with Dogs and Scars, with these children. Maybe this is not bad, but this is not The Last of Us, this is not Our Story, and of course this is not interesting to us, fans. I didn't feel any emotion during playing as Abby. And why we playing as Abby and trying to kill Ellie, just why??? It's awful... Next, the ending. It can't compare with the ending of the First part. Just compare your emotions... The First part is better in any aspect, the MAIN MENU, the SOUNDTRACK, the STORY, the ENDING!     _Joel character doesn't act in correlation with is traits from the first game; and get killed because it was needed in the story. That bad piece of writing happens after only 2 hours..

    _First half of the game makes the player forget a little bit about that dumb-Joel nonsense until the game makes you play as the character you hate, the one who killed Joel.. 10 hours of boring redondent gameplay with characters you don't care about , hoping for a final revenge..

    Forced narrative and awful divisive content and the story was terrible - half of the game was playing with some character you absolutely detest.

    This piece of software was designed to cause outrage and massive dislike. This is unfair to all those who bought this thinking they were getting a Joel and Ellie sequal (just like the trailers alluded to).

    The game play began to get very repetitive and didn't need to be 20 hours long. Naughty Dog have obviously dropped the ball on this one. Such a shame a this was almost guaranteed to print money.

    - the game is beautiful - the gameplay is as good as the first game (although AI is still terrible So why would I score it 2? Well the story trashed the whole experience. So to the bad: The story is so horrific it’s ridiculous. The worst bit happens early on and it trashes the entire game (if you are a lover of the first game). After that incident the whole thing feels    First the good:

After that incident the whole thing feels so linear and then the ending is like getting punched in the guts. I get they’re trying to send out a message about killing and revenge (whilst making the goriest game ever which is kind of ironic) but this is executed so badly.

    It’s a story driven game so you have to have the story right. I am so dissapointed.

    I would like the creators to say they got this wrong, but I doubt they will.    … Expand

    I didn't like the story ! yes the gameplay is very good super realistic and fun to play but the story is disappointing this is my consideretion!

    Pros Brs q querem saber, gente eles botaram muita militância no jogo a Ellie que vc viu no primeiro jogo é outra, eu n sou homofóbico nem nada mas eu achei q a essência da personagem se perdeu, só fico triste com isso.
    ( respeitem a minha opinião assim como eu respeito a de vcs)

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
