I honestly tried to like this game, but their are too many issues that bog it down. The first game was a decent story told well, the writing wasn't spectacular yet it built up an actual world and made it believable. This game fails to do that, half way through I honestly forgot that this was suppose to be a post apocalyptic world, or that Clickers were in any way a threat to society.

The writing is extremely basic and in your face. Every message is blatantly told to the player, and any form of subtlety doesn't exist. Characters know information that they shouldn't possibly know, and what little emotion that the story attempts to bring our misses it's mark.

Joel did everything he could and killed literal doctors to save Ellie, and after Ellie kills: Owen, Mel (pregnant), Nora, hundreds of random people; watched Jesse, Joel die; watched Tommy get shot in the eye; have Dina give her an ultimatum and break it; she FINALLY gets a chance to kill the supposed antagonist and can't. This nightmare of a story has literally everything unsatisfying happen that could happen. It feels like subverting expectations turned up to 14 and it is just too much and too far to be relatable or enjoyable. Disappointed. Expand

The gameplay is a slightly refined version of TLOU, crafting, etc. didn´t change.
now about the bad.. ND came up with the wors sequel in gaming history. The story doesn´t tell anything except violence all the time.. and more violence... and more... it doesn´t stop.
They somehow thought it was a good idea to kill off Joel in the beginning. That may have worked if it was a somehow meaningful death but this whole thing was rushed and emotionless. After this **** move they somehow went even further and forced you to play as the manwomantransthing who killed your beloved character. Then all that follows is violence and an endless revenge circle rounded up by their LGBTQ agenda. This game is a 2/10. They messed up the characters and the story in a game that´s only about characters and story. not worth the money and everyone who played TLOU 1 should stay away from this game.

I couldn't go past the second hour of playtime, despite my love for part 1, Hopefully i can get at least half the price i paid for this piece of garbage. Very pretentious storytelling, gone wrong on so many levels, i think the Writer and director were inspired by kojima on some sort of way, but instead of feeling attachment to characters with the storytelling, i just felt bored. TLOU 1 was a masterpiece near the end of the PS3 genre. Now TLOU2 came out after so many years, with Druckmann being a VP of ND nowadays. Not only he clearly stated that he wanted TLOU2 to be his political statement, it's crammed with propaganda and forced LGBT intereactions. A couple keypoints here:

1: It's pathetic how there are sex scenes in TLOU2 but Sony cherry picked and censors

1: It's pathetic how there are sex scenes in TLOU2 but Sony cherry picked and censors other games and not TLOU2.
2: A supposedly dystopian game with zombies, but instead it's heavily focused on a trans person.
3: Druckmann projecting himself in the game, having intercourse.
4: Critics giving 10/10 to the game for being in bed with Sony. All in the sake of having early views from other journalists.

Severely disappointed with Naughty Dog and how Druckmann decided to give the middle finger to the franchise's fanbase. This is what you get when you cater to a specific minority group, of which the majority don't bother with videogames AT ALL.

The writing in this game is an affront to storytelling akin to GOT season 8, the circumstances that lead to Joel's death in the first hour are so far out of character for him its not even funny. Then you spend the whole game absolutely despising abby, waiting for the chance to kill her was the only thing that kept me going. Then you get to the end and you don't even get to kill the **** because the game forces you to spare her out of some sort of misguided idea of what Joel would have wanted. Pretty sure Joel from TLOU would have been fine with you murdering the 'women' who beat his **** head in with a golf club as a reward to him for saving her life. Game sucks ass waste of 60 quid gameplay is identical to the last game so a 3. Expand

The last of us part 2 is a hilarious attempt at a video game. Outdated and clunky gameplay with fantastic graphics. The story tries to make the player feel bad for killing people in a post apocalyptic world where it’s kill or be killed by blatant manipulation. The Walking Dead game series had its fair share of really bleak moments, but as dark as those games got, there was always SOME kind of hope to latch on to (whether it was Clementine herself, or her surrogate son AJ), there was always some kind of humor to offset tension, those games didn't constantly wallow in despair. You could have a story about "hatred", but good god, how about some kind of levity?!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a completely honest review. I have not enjoyed this at all.
I understand that this game is supposed to NOT be enjoyable but the writing of the story and characters is god-awful. It feels like a fever dream, a crappy fan fiction full of plot holes, decisions meant to be "realistic" but in fact, they were just purely written. Characters do not act the way we saw them in the early game, the time jump does not justify that. The game is too long for a "revenge is bad" story, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE BAD PEOPLE WIN. So revenge ultimately is great, I guess?
And seriously though, did Abby kill every person named Joel she encountered? That would've made much more sense. His death was so full of **** I can't simply understand how one can come up with a solution like this. Shame because the graphics are the best I have ever seen on PS4, gameplay is mostly okay, slightly better than in the previous game. 2/10.

Writing this review as a fan of Naughty Dog and The Last of Us part 1. Made an account to state my opinion on TLoU2. Keep in mind, you might have a different experience.

Graphics: the game follows the theme of hate and revenge. This is also reflected in the overall design of the game; while graphically being very impressive, aesthetically it mostly looks dark, gritty, and quite frankly dull. There very little use of natural lightning, such as sunlight, which is in stark contrast to previous games such as Uncharted 4/TLL or even The Last of Us 1. The color palette is quite limited. Definitely prefer to look of the TLoU1 over TLoU2.

Story: Regarding the story, well.....The original game is about hope and the search for a cure where progress through a world filled with clickers and in which nature is slowly reclaiming its territory. Instead, TLoU2 aims to provide a deepening of the character Ellie and the struggles she goes through. Additionally, it introduces a new main character Abby. There is a pararell to found among these two. You play in a quest for revenge, from the perspective of both characters. However, the main issue here is that everything is a complete mess. The story feels far-fetched. You play as a murder machines, graphically killing off hundreds. I found it difficult to sympathize for with the characters because you have no influence on moral values; everything is forced upon you. I simply could not care for the main characters in the way I did in the original.

The gameplay aspect is largely what to expect from a Naughty Dog game. Honestly, I have little complaints here.

Then there is the lgbt aspect: I did not mind it for the most part. Still, it was all a bit much up to a point that it just felt weird, making me question what the point of it all is. Are they trying to make a statement here? Is a video game really the best way to do this? Just felt a bit extreme at times.

Overall conclusion: The story is told ineffectively and I was unable to care for the main characters, something the original was so good it. The world is fairly dull-looking (although graphically incredibly impressive), as part of the overall theme the game is going for. It has a very hard time justifying why the tone is so dark. Left me disappointed and unsatistied.

You are becoming so obsessed with game that u start looking for more about characters and their background story. It hapenned to me after beating first The Last of Us, i'v read countless books about post apocalyptic , traumatic events and how it affects human relations and how we can deal with it( e.g. I recommend reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy). World of tlou showed me many shades of black and how we can overcome them by looking for light and hope and that there is always something to live for . It inspirated me and surely many more people. It pointed me a reason to live and fight for people and things that are the most important to me. Elie's and Joel's relationship showed me that games are far more than just gameplay and story in gaming became something more for me.
As you see Im looking at second part from sentimantal perspective and for this part I really wanted it to be at least as wise as first one. Sadly I was dissapointed, firstly dialogues often seemed to be pointless and meaningless. Also main plots from first game looks like they were abandoned. during the game we don't progress in story and there is many plot holes and the most important parts are rushed. After beating the game I was trying to explain some of the game choices to me. I thought- maybe this game is about forgiveness? Maybe I missed something? Story telling of this part remainds me of writer that is burned down and finish his main plots just in one sentence. Gameplay is on the highest level possible, music as it was in first part is stunning and breathtaking. But Naughty Dog failed in the most important thing which made The Last of Us so special to me and so many people- story telling.

Overall In tlou 1 Elie's and Joel's fate became something more than I ever expected from video game and in 2nd part I hoped for developing main threads and I really counted that game will be able to give me a life lesson one more time. The only thing that remains for All of Us is that we can all lead our loved Ellie and Joel how we want in our dreams and imagination..

The Last of Us the possibility of playing through the entire game with just killing two people , however this game tells you that you apparently killed dozens of people in the last game and you have no say in all of this despite the first game specifically allowing you to evade enemies, not killing them. How to not make a sequel.

This abolishment of a beloved video game is a testament to the complete lack of understanding from Naughty Dog about what made the first game so beloved. The gameplay with minimal improvements and the stunning visuals are all there, but the most important part, the characters and their stories, are butchered in a way that would make a 50-year old slaughterhouse worker from Russia cry. ND was clearly trying something new with the story, but instead of committing to developing the characters we already knew and loved, they instead decided to throw it all out of a speeding car and tried to shoehorn a dry agenda in to the characters' stead. Don't get me wrong, making a statement through a video game can work fantastically, but the way ND executed it ruined the whole franchise for good.

The game looks, feels and sounds gorgeous and the gameplay is... stellar, but the most important part of the series, the story and the chaeacters, were destroyed so badly, that the game doesn't even hold a candle to the first one and all that this game is a good looking mediocre husk.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TLDR. I am stunned... crying right now because I am insulted and I feel I was hostaged to do something I wont choose in real life. Narrative elements found in this game are better suited to a deep RPG not a linear on rails shooter. A naughty dog game with no carrot on the end of a stick will get tedious quick. No Gameplay is fine but a lackluster story ala last jedi is a very unenjoyable experience

    let me explain bellow

-The impunity of the developers making decisions for you... in the age of great story driven RPGs and other action adventure games making you choose how to approach things Last of us 2 forces you to do things you detest and dont like and shames you because of doing it. in Bioshock a shooter from the late 2000s shames you or punishes you from killing little sisters by giving you lesser atom and a bad ending, but the game only does that because the player choses to do that. In last of us a 6 year developed game shames you because you did a scripted action which you have no control over.

-if the last of us wanted to go that route where it wants to teach the lesson revenge is wrong, why not made it a hybrid shooter/rpg game? it removed the multiplayer, gameplay is non existent since its a linear on rails shooter so there is no excuse not to implement that. Where did all that development years go? I dont mind if a game teaches me a hard lesson but please make it so that I am responsible not beacause I was forced due series of scripted events.

-another thing The greatest plothole... After killing all of Abby’s friend even a pregnant woman! Ellie just let Abby Go wont abby be pissed off a once she is able to avenge her dead friends and continue the cycle!

-The gameplay while improved still suffers from dull padding(carrying ladder, pushing boxes, jumping and swing in ropes) its unessesary things that really grinds the game to tedious levels of absurd.

-No prize of a good story after playing a tedious meh shooter does not make this an enjoyable experience.

in conclusion plot holes, tedious gameplay and an insulting plot and ending made me wish I did not but my copy with Steelbook! its very expensive for a single player only game and it feels long and tedious. It feels wrong I am gutted I feel violated not because the story made me feel that but because the money I spent could have gone to a better developer. I wont be suprised if this is the final Naughty Dog game that will sell well look at Rise of Skywalker. Star wars did not recover, naughty dog might as well, stop making consumers feel bad about supporting you guys its not right!

The game had stunning graphics, great sound, good gameplay, but the things that made it one of the best games on the platform was the beauty of the level designs and above that the magnificent storyline involving two of main characters with their struggle to survive and make sense of the world. That recipe landed it the game of the year back then on the PS3 and then again on the PS4 when it was released as a remastered version which I also bought. I had two TLOU1 copies total spanning two systems. That was just how good it was. Fast forward to today and to Part 2 of this iconic game. Let's start with what it got right from the recipe of the old game. GRAPHICS and Level Design: Like the first, Part 2 continues on stunning displays of the environment. No complaints there. SOUND: Again, it is on par with the first. GAMEPLAY: This is for the most part on par again with the first with a few additions to make exploring more realistic thus giving it a slight edge. Sadly, from here on out it is downhill. Way downhill... STORYLINE: I enjoyed the game for about 2 hours into it. Then IT happens. Death is understandable in a game with an apocalyptic setting. It can be sad but still illicit a positive experience to the player. Flashback to FF7 when Aerith meets the grim reaper with an 8 ft blade. It was traumatic yet it didn't leave a horribly bad aftertaste by the end of the game. In TLOU2 though, it felt unnecessarily rushed. Like someone couldn't wait to get rid of one of the characters. Then to make matters worse, you have to play as the character who ended such a beloved one from the 1st game. The theme of revenge is done relatively like any other game or movie before, and it doesn't really make the player feel much excitement to see what happens next. It starts becoming boring and predictable. At least until the end where they throw you another curve ball to ruin yet another character from the 1st game. You're left with a sense of what was the point of all of this? In the 1st game, you had a clear goal. The twists and turns to reach it all fit together nicely, until the end where they also throw you a curve ball to the story. But unlike the 1st where there was a purpose to the actions that led to the end, in Part 2 the player is left with a strong feeling to scream "WTF was the point of all this!?". The story is severely flawed. The ending leaves you with nothing, and worse it tarnishes the legacy and choices made by the end of the 1st game. Expand

I could even forgive the awful story if the game-play offered something interesting, but again, it only gives a feel of "been there, done that", even the one thing they could have made some big improvements on, the AI, is barelly better. Aesthetically pleasing, great sound design and semi-open levels are the nicest bread, to a poorly-written story, awful character inconsistency, no new memorable characters who you will most definitely dislike (they all get killed or leave anyway) and pretty much the same gameplay you got in The Last of Us in 2013.

Did you like The Last of Us? Don’t play the sequel, you’ll be better off that way and you will keep your love of the franchise relatively unmolested. I mean, I wouldn’t put much more belief in Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann after this glorious cock-up.

Joel and Tommy are ruined. Their character inconsistency from the first game to here is insanely bad. They turned stupid, giving out their full names and trusting Unknown’s like it’s nothing. Obviously Ellie is angry, but after killing 100s of Cultists, Abby’s Group and the Infected, all in the name of revenge, but she doesn’t follow through? Yeah, yeah, Revenge is Bad, but you want to show that? You need to actually show why it’s bad in the first place. There are no memorable scenes pushing Ellie towards this point of view. If anything, she has every reason to kill Abby and she lets her go. Abby kills Joel, Jesse, mutilates Tommy and brutalises Dinah. She should die, otherwise you have no pay-off. That’s not even considering how you have to play as her after she murders Joel. This is not good game design, and this is not how you continue a franchise. Gameplay is the same as the last game. Sneak, loot, stealth kill, checkpoint. You can blitz enemies with stun grenades and checkpoint them to rush through. Enemy AI is downright inept and we’re still relying on QTE Cutscene Battles in 2020. This is not how you improve,
Or push a franchise forward. Some of the moments that are meant to be serious are downright comical. Jesse’s Death (Abby headshots him out of luck), Mel is suddenly revealed to be pregnant by Owen after she is murdered by Ellie (two characters who they try and evoke sympathy for), Abby getting rawdogged by a Druckmann Self-Insert, it’s just bad. Their message is so hamfisted, so utterly pointless and poorly written that all their preaching falls flat.

If anything, I think people hate it more now.

Watch highlights, find streams, DO NOT BUY IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! IT IS NOT WORTH IT AND THIS MUST BE A MESSAGE THAT WE KNOW WHAT AN ACTUAL 10/10 GAME IS!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Guys, let's be honest

story is **** (not only because of Joel's death), motivation of Abby is clear and understandable, but the way how it was described -- is ****ty.

what I think will be better for the story and it will make people less complain about this game

Act 1: you play as Ellie for some time
Act 2: you play for Abby for some time (and explaining why her dad was so important in more that 10 seconds of screen time)
Act 3: Ellie figured out that Joel saved her and she's upset with that
    Act 4: Abby's flashbacks with father's death
Act 5: Joel's death, but he should die like a hero, and not like idiot, who trusted random **** in a middle of nowhere.
Following Acts: Ellie is trying to find Abby, Abby is running away
Last Act: their fight, and player has options -- kill her and continue circle of revenge or no

that's what players, who waited 7 years deserves.

Gameplay itself is not that bad, it's not revolution, but it's cool.
There is not so much LGBTQ+ propaganda, and that's okay, nobody is complaining about that.
Abby could be more pretty, who wants to look on Schwarzenegger with vagina.

    so in general, it's 1/10 or 2/10
and that's only because I respect developers in Naughty Dog, because I'm developer too
and I **** hate people who wrote the script.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

It feels like every cutscene and design choice are delivered as a thinly veiled preachy message about acceptance and inclusion of diversity. While striving for acceptance and diversity is an honourable effort in most cases, entertainment should be just that, entertainment. If you want a really deep, depressing interactive TED talk about prejudice against trans and gay people this game might be for you. If however you simply wish to shoot down mushroom zombies in an apocalyptic environment then get ready to (mostly) sit through hours and hours of cheap teenage angsty drama, badly written dialogue, characters that are greyer than the english sky in September and an overall appalling story. This game only gets 2 points from me because of the tremendous appreciation I have for the designers, artists, and developers who created this visually stunning masterpiece (it would be 0 otherwise). Unfortunately no matter how pretty the visuals nothing can save this game from its' horrendous characters, its' horribly toxic and fan alienating storyline and its' lack of innovation when it comes to mechanics. I'm just glad i got to play it from a friend who was unlucky enough to have pre-ordered. The game took me roughly 16 hours to finish and the ending is a massive letdown (the game ends with "Yep" ffs), I understand now why some scenes were hard for some of the team at Naughty Dog to model and/or complete fully, and I doubt anyone except Druckmann himself are proud of this so called "video game".

That brings me to my second point, the game is very linear aside from 1 or 2 open ended areas and feels more like an interactive movie than it does a playable video game, often just walking place to place or being placed into a cutscene, the Cordyceps infected are only in the game a handful of times making them feel like humanity isn't really under threat from them that much anymore. To put it into perspective what I mean about it being an interactive movie, a notable streamer had someone in his chat chart up just how much of what he played in 4 hours was actual gameplay, it came to 33 minutes OUT OF FOUR HOURS.

Save your money and wait for Ghosts of Tsushima, or buy Persona 4 Golden on PC if your money is burning a hole in your pocket. For fans of the first game the story is simply insulting, killing Joel in such a horrific and unceremonious manner, Ellie and Joel not really having any interaction outside of flashbacks/the ending and you don't even get the cathartic pleasure of giving Abby a taste of her own medicine after forcing me to play as and TRYING to get me to sympathize with this psychopathic serial killing woman for half of the game...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The overall presentation of the game is borderline flawless. The graphics, gameplay, and attention to detail are absolutely second to none. Unfortunately they are all held back by an extremely poorly conceived plot that is creating backlash due to false advertising.

Initially this game was marketed as a continuation of the journeys and character growth for Ellie and Joel. This was done by manipulating existing scenes in trailers, etc. The reality is Joel dies two hours in, you then spend 8 hours hunting down his murderer and then 8 hours as his murderer in a interlacing 3 days before ultimately coming to the conclusion that an eye for an eye would leave us all blind and it is important to forgive and sparing said murderer. A thing many of us already understand.

The plot as a result comes across as extremely pretentious, preachy, and borderline misery porn as everything is slowly stripped away from the characters we came to love in The Last Of Us.

Which is a shame because the social justice elements were handled very tactfully for the most part, but will likely result in hindering the causes more than helping them.

The gameplay is a bit stale but still enjoyable as ever, little innovation is done regarding enemies however the improved ai and brutality make for a great improvement on the original.

That said at the end of the day this is a game that will likely leave you saying why did I bother spending money on this or even bother playing it? No amount of gameplay can ever make up for that. As a result I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to anyone.

The new characters are unlikeable and bad written, the main story is generic and have lots of plot holes. The last thing to say is about the gameplay, which is the same but polished, but in 2020 is dated and to this day many other games had made a better shooting or stealth gameplay like GEARS 5.

Not worth the money, i really struggled to make to the end and i'm not willing to play it again. Looking forward to sell my copy to anyone who wants to buy it.

Gorgeous graphics and sounds, sadly all the rest suffers from political agenda pandering to minorities killing established characters of the franchise and making a 20 hour revenge plot that simply does not delivery and serves only as a medium for pissing of the established fanbase

The production quality is very good. The story was bad. But the ending was just infuriating.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wrote a 5000 word review, Metacritic deleted it. So here I am again with a TL;DR this time.

The whole game is a vengeance quest. ND forces us to play as the villain for almost half the game to elicit empathy for the antagonist but fails miserably mostly due to horrid writing and unlikable characters. Imagine playing as Micah in RDR2 and Rockstar expecting us to feel empathy for him by giving him a love interest and a dog. In this case, we get the daughter of random NPC that Joel killed in TLOU1, Abby, who gets her revenge (kills Joel within the first two hours of the game) and rides off into the sunset. Ellie, who has somehow not fallen into one of the many gaping plot holes in the story is now left alone sans two fingers, Dina's gone, Joel's dead. She walks off into the forest.

    The end.
2/10 - Would not play again
2 for the artists who worked on an amazing game visually - huge props and condolences to have worked with a team of writers who've butchered this franchise.

Gameplay has improved over the last game but the story is where all it went wrong. After playing for 20 hours I felt very angry at the story. In a narrative-driven linear game, the story matters the most and this is why The Last of Us Part 2 is a failed game. The developers in an attempt to create shock value and be so different than the last game failed to accomplish a good story.

Expand

I play through TLOU & Left Behind probably three times a year. I love the game to the point of utter fanboydom. I was so excited and happy to watch every teaser, every clip and got goosebumps when we finally heard Joel's voice. I say this with all sincerety and as a player who pre-ordered and could not wait to play TLOU2 - I wish I hadn't. Not only is the game itself emotionally draining to play - it tarnishes my wanting to play the first game again. The game looks beautiful and plays very much like the first, but everything that made the previous game exceptional and an utter classic has been stripped from this game (except perhaps the music). It is not enjoyable to play unless you disregard every single cut scene and amputate the gameplay from the story and its completely dislikable characters. Even then, what you are left with is a game that is stunning to look at but is nothing really special to play. Without detailing specifics, I can see why people from every community have expressed concern about the characters. Representation and accurate diversity is important in these times. And this game will beat you to death with it. Expand

The awesome graphics and gaming mode are very good aspects of this game, but the story plot always comes first. The story in a game comes first above all other aspects a game has. The story in a game comes first above all other aspects a game has. What made the first game of The Last of Us special was an awesome story and the connection you felt with its characters along the game. In The Last of Us Part II, it’s the opposite. It’s all about taking revenge and trying to hunt the antagonist, because they hurt the protagonists of the first game. The goal is very disoriented and most part of the game you feel like you are running in circles only based on catching the antagonist. Literally the story is like an “catch me if you can” game that repeats itself over and over again. The half of the game you are forced to play as the antagonist, which you feel no connection with. I really wanted to like this game, but for me the story is everything in a game and this felt like a very bad side-story. And of course the media are saying that the bad user reviews are just because they come from people that are homophobic or don’t like the politics the game has. I have nothing against that the protagonist is gay and I don’t judge people based on their orientation. By the way The Last of Us: Left Behind had also a LGBT aspect and it was taken very positive by the gamers (because it told a good story). The majority of the bad user reviews its because of the lack of story the game has. Don’t fool yourself on believing the 10/10 critics that the media scores and don’t ignore the opinion of the consumers that don’t get payed by saying it’s a 10/10 game. Don’t waste your money on this game. If you are questioning yourself if the game isn’t worth to buy you can always see the whole gameplay on youtube or twitch and you will safe a lot of money. Expand

A good movie producer: "We've got 2 hours of entertainment for your and the message, but you only pay for the 2 hours and can skip the message". The Last of Us 2 uses the opposite approach: "We have been so carried away with the message so we written the most illogical and officious script, sacrificed those you hold dear and many more things just to be sure you get our moral".

    A bad,

This game is subversively bad. All character development present within the main characters from the past title seems to have slipped away from the grasp of the writers as the colossal failure that is The Last of Us II attempts to push a deep and engaging plot with a dark tone, when it comes off as nothing more than pretentious. There is absolutely no subtlety in its writing as it pushes its message in your face, spoon feeding it to you by artificially creating impact on the story with mindless carnage. By the time you're near the final hours of the game nothing fazes you anymore. The message was already conveyed long ago and it, personally, didn't mean anything to me when I finished the game. When the credits rolled, I sat there on my couch, saddened. Not by the events of the story, but rather by the wasted potential of this sequel. Something that could've been, but never did. The only thing that was redeemable about this was the graphics, which was already expected from a PS4 game, a console at the end of its life-cycle thus optimized to hell. I wasn't a particular super fan of this series, and to those who were... I can only offer you all my sincere condolences.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
