Okay here is my review of TLOU2.

    Gameplay:
Play's Similar to the first game with some new extended Options to it such as Jumping and crawling, Yet for me it feels sort of slippery and not as fluid as the first game. Also it is more a movie then it is a game which can be good or bad,In this case it was bad, I like Interactive games such as the Walking dead ones, But this game is really just like watching a long movie with very little gameplay.
When it does Click back into gameplay the enemies do vary and can show some smarts, But I also seen many AI in my gameplay that were dumb.

Graphics:Naughty Dog I will give props where due, This game is Beautiful,The world feels Alive, Colors can be both stunning and depressing"In a good way", The details in the faces are spot on with real life.

    Sound:
Hit or miss for me, Some things sound good while others sound odd to me, Such as some of the voice acting, Most hit the marks with what lines they are given, And a few others sound like they phoned it in and wanted to walk away from the script.

    Story:
This story is a mess, They take everything good from number one and ruin it with this one, I still like Ellie as I did in the first game, But Joel when he was Present he feels "Off", He does not seem like the same guy we grew to know from the first game, I do not mind the story moving forward, But this game seems like they Erased the first one and wanted to start over with new leads.
It's a story about hate and revenge yet by the conclusion it is not even that, It leads up to nothing happening besides them all walking away!

    Conclusion:
They had a chance to really make a mark with this game but they blew it really in every way, Not worth the price, If you can I say wait for a price cut or buy it used.

The story with Ellie is awesome I was hyped as to go all John Wick on Joel’s killers and the gameplay/visuals are great as well but the switch half way through to Abby just takes you out of the game so much. You don’t want her to win and it’s so so hard to feel any sympathy for her at all as she just killed Joel (pretty much Ellie's dad) because Joel murder her father. And the ending wow... I mean cmon you could of at least gave Ellie her revenge she’s lost so much and I know there’s meant to be “no good or bad guys” just everyone sucks and but cmon man Joel died for nothing. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is nowhere near deserving of anything above 5. I’ve chosen 3 because I think its bastardizes the series but would probably more aptly give it a 3.5, for two reasons:
The game is a technical marvel and graphically is very impressive, the best ND looking game to date and one of the best looking games of this gen. The game also includes unlockable flashbacks with Joel and Ellie and these are what really give the extra .5 I would realistically give and also why the game is only a 3.5. If the whole game had more of Joel or Elie or introduced new characters that had such a deep and well thought out relationship as Joel or Ellie, Part 2 would’ve been fantastic. Unfortunately, beating Joel with a golf club 2 hours in dashes this. As soon as we take control of Abby, the one who murders Joel, the story becomes confusing and jumbled, with multiple flashbacks and jumpcuts and is very hard to follow. Abby herself is unlikeable and very hard to find any sympathy for. The other characters are forgettable and have no defining characteristics that make you want to find out more about them, apart from Dina, who makes sense because she’s Ellies partner.
Ellie herself is less likeable, constantly hating on Joel and the majority of males to be honest, she’s simply an **** even to Dina but I immensly enjoyed the interactions she had with Dina and the small respite in the game with her and Dina living in the farmhouse was really cute and did go someway into exploring Ellie’s response to intimacy and romance.
The ending, the point I will end this review on, is atrocious. The whole game is revolved around revenge, of course. Ellie tracks down Abby after getting seperated from her earier in the game, leaving Dina and Dina’s baby behind (obviously, not their baby, Dina was impregnated by another character earlier but then they broke up). Abby has been tortured and beat and is essentially being crucified, on death’s door. Ellie frees her and they both go to a nearby dock, to escape via boat. Ellie then threatens to kill Lev, a boy Abby has been travelling with, if Abby doesn’t fight her. This devolves into a fist fight (in a world where guns exist and Ellie actually has a few on her person and in a world where survival of the fittest dominates), where Ellie gets the upperhand but then let’s Abby leave with Lev, despite murdering her friends and 100’s of others and the whole point of tracking Abby was revenge for Joel. Ellie then comes back to the farmhouse to find Dina and the baby gone and tries to play guitar, only to find she can’t as she lost two fingers in the fight with Abby. One more cutscene plays, where Ellie says in a flashback at Jackson, the starting area, she can’t forgive Joel for saving her at the hospital, credits.
Let’s hope and pray TLOU3 is never made or if it is, with Druckmann far away as possible. If he and the other management who made devs work 100+ hour weeks for this game leave, I wish ND the best on their next game, otherwise, people on the bottom of the ladder, get the hell out and don’t look back.

It fails like game and story for me. And like story driven game, the ways of telling this mess of a story and manipulate the filliings of the players to the new characters is so... blatand and bad, that I feel this is the worst game from ND in this regard. And for me - this is a crime for the great build up characters and story in the previous game.

And I can't more dissagrie with this madness of 10/10 reviews. Game with so badly telled story (specially for story driven game) can't be really 10/10. If you damn like it - cool for you, but seeing no flaws is blindness.

Last - there is very offending way of swaying the players perspective, hiding and missleading moments in the cutscenes... just to push some agenda of the narative.
Famose for me - is the pregnancy of Mel - which is absolutly no visible when they capture Joel and is like in the sevent month when was killed (not to mention the madness of woman in such pregnancy level to go on a combat mission AND shoot, jump, hide and sprint)...

Also the main message of the game is quite contradicting with what the director was speaking for the game. In any way - I don't agree on personal level - because what you can take from the game is... Revenge is -- Good. And I don't think should be that way.
Abby is the quintessense of this. She finish her revenge plot, redeem for her crime and live happy ever after... No burden or else.
Yes, it send Ellie on her dark and grim quest, but not achieving revenge - make Ellies life missarable - and not compleating her cicle actually was looking way worse...

Ok. I finish here, because I can write and write with hours on any moment of the story in this game that is so so bad...

    (sigh) So dissapointed

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Critics gave the game good reviews so they wouldn't get blacklisted by Sony and denied review copies. The game itself is gorgeous, and gameplay has been slightly improved over the first game. All the idiots claiming haters hate their favorite game because of the gay representation don't seem to understand that their favorite game can still **** suck. The whole point of playing a video game is to have fun and experience emotion. When the ONLY emotions I feel are hate and sadness, you **** up. Critics claiming that you feel a rush of emotions every step of the way mean that every hour you play you get filled with more hate and rage. The game has decent storytelling until a character you met literally **** 10 minutes ago bashes in the head of your favorite character with a gold club. I feel Joel needed to die in this game and feel the consequences of what he did in the first game, but to make a useless ass npc who has one line of dialogue in the first game this super important guy who just so happens to have a daughter that joins the apocalypse version of the mafia is really lame and lazy writing. Naughty dog could have done so many different things with Joel's death, but they chose to kill him like a SIDE CHARACTER. He dies in the first goddamn HOUR. Don't even get me started about the pacing. Ellie goes on a basic ass revenge plot story where she kills all of Abby's friends, and I mean ALL of them. You then play as Abby for a whole ass 16 hours or so, a character you just met and only feel hatred towards, and it makes the player want to stop playing immediately. I had a good time sitting and **** around for a good half an hour just throwing Abby off a cliff. If I have more fun doing that than playing the actual game we have some serious problems. We then see all of these characters who we JUST killed get character development when playing as Abby. I don't give a **** either way as they are already dead and giving them character development now is pointless and a waste of time. The game constantly tries to make the player feel like an **** when what happens is forced and can't be controlled. Like, a dog will roll up on you and your forced to kill it, no matter what. The owner then comes back and starts sobbing at the sight of his dead dog and it makes you feel bad. FOR WHAT? I didn't want to kill the dog, but the game forced me to and then made ME feel like the **** It constantly nags at the player about what the story is forcing me to do, and I have no control over any outcome. The only feeling of satisfaction I had when playing is when Ellie put that **** Abby's head in the water, only to LET HER GOOOOO. WHAT. Abby tortured and bashed in the head of Ellie's FATHER FIGURE, and she lets her go. Lazy ass writing and a lame way to set up a third game. Ellie lost everything, INCLUDING HER ABILITY TO PLAY THE GUITAR. The only thing she has left of Joel is that guitar, and she can't play it anymore because Abby was hungry during their fight and bit off her fingers. Joel would have killed Abby in a heartbeat if the roles were reversed, so don't tell me JoEl WoUlDn'T wAnT hEr To dO tHaT, because HE WOULD. I also felt Joel was out of character in this game, as he literally walked into a room with one exit with like 7 armed strangers, then told them his name. Tommy also told ARMED STRANGERS where they LIVE. IN A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. The only redeeming quality story-wise is the flashbacks with Ellie and Joel. Those parts made me feel true emotion. I get that some people enjoy the game, and that's fine, but you don't have to lie and say the story and characters were on par with god himself.

    That concludes my TED Talk.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is totally bull **** so here I am to add another 3/10 score review to this game. Some say that most of who have given the low score are those who not even played the game, and I'm one of those. I don't need to play, why should I, because this game only the story matters. It all started with Joel's death, it made me feel like that I was being fooled by ND. In the 2017 game announced trailer and the 2019 Joel trailer, all revealed that Joel would fight along side with Ellie, though Ellie did want to avenge for something but I could never guess for Joel's death. But finally the story turned out to be completely up side down from what I had expected. I'm not blaming Joel's death, maybe he did have his reason to "die", but I'm really really angry about how my feeling is being manipulate by ND's misleading trailers, it makes us totally fools, it looks like we have been betrayed. So don't believe IGN's or GamingBolt's 10/10 masterpiece bull **** they just forget about one thing, that people's emotion really matters. Even though the story did have its logic for its cruel world settings, but we should always keep in mind that those games are just entertaining products, they should bring about fun, and not pain, if those well saying reviewers really want to review a game for the players, I recommend that they keep that in mind too. Beside Joel's death, I can't image that ND even want your to experience Joel's murderer--Abby's life with your own hands. Oh, gods, what the hell are they thinking about? After they have made the game as real as possible, and finally they just ask you to believe that this is just a game, and you shouldn't take side between Ellie and Abby the two characters, how can even that possible. I just doubt that how many people can really take that, seems like we have been fooled by ND once again. Now return to Joel's death, just like the game director Neil Druckmann have said, people die in some way, it's true, but what he lies is that he never think about how Joel's brutal way of death can hurt people's feelings, did he really think about how people can even go back to the first game after they have experienced Joel's brutal ending, did he really think about that kind of story will really serve ND's interests? I doubt that. But all this things just happens here today, there is no doubt that ND have totally failed the entire fan-base's expectation, maybe it's the studio's arrogance make them stray. So I can't say that I still love them after all this, I'm grade that I haven't play the game yet, because I can't. Now I'm still thinking about whether I should delete the first game on my ps4 pro, I just don't want to see it... Expand

When a game, that build its name on storytelling hires a 16y old kid from Tumblr to write a script, this is how it looks like. I wanted another great story with character development and constructed plot, I got 2 adult women acting like angry teenagers chasing each other for 25h. As you look at the game, it is strong, animations feel realistic and intense, but these great moments cant hide the fact that the second part had a lot more potential, sad they wasted it.
Positives: Great visuals (the fact that it runs on PS4, incredible), game mechanics, various new settings, intense-looking and emotional scripted sections...
Negatives: Looting sections felt numb, not many interesting interactions, story, character development, unlogical choices or actions of characters,...

And it's about going against happy or comforting endings, trying to be edgy and artistic, saying "this is real life, sometimes it sucks." You can recognize that trend in other contemporary entertainment pieces like Game of Thrones. And I'm so tired of it. Just a pointless crash factor behind it. The good:
Some gorgeous graphics, especially the wilderness scenes

    The bad:
    1. Horrendous rape scene starring Neil Druckmann and a transitioning female, looked like he was playing out some sexual power fantasy trip - definitely no affirmative consent given.
    2. Utterly linear ‘on rails’ game
    3. Mediocre ‘revenge’ plot
    4. Gameplay is really derivative, jump and climb adds nothing new
    5. Complete lack of environmental puzzles
    6. Terrible character design and development
    7. Poor dialogue
    8. Some of the biggest plot holes and events that entirely destroy the internal logic of the game.

So if you’re looking for a nice looking game, that doesn’t allow you choices and character assassinates and butchers one of the most interested vg characters in the most pathetic way possible and is essentially a tedious monotonous snuff gore film - then this one’s for you

Story 1/10 - Monotonous and internally inconsistent
    Game-play - 2/10 Repetitive sneak kill repeat
    Graphics - 8/10 beautiful scenes.
    Replayability - 0/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Alright... Ima start with the positives in this game. I write this review with the fact that The Last of Us is a story driven game at the forefront. The gameplay was good in the first game but it didnt do anything innovative. The story was the main thing that made the game one of the best of the generation, and for some like myself. the best ever made.
    Graphics:
Graphics are 100% some of the best on the ps4. There is seldom a moment in which the pure graphical quality and attention to detail in animation falters to a level that would be below amazing. That along with the technical achievements in making it all run smoothly on the ps4 with little to no lag spikes makes it that much more impressive.

    Voice acting:
Again very well done. The performances from the likes of Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey are excellent. Their performances really coming through with the motion capture. Again, it is stellar and some of the best.
Now i can't talk about these performances without speaking about the subject matter that they had to work with. The writing is piss poor for dialogue and feels like the highschool fanfiction found on tumblr with awkward exchanges and very odd and quick changes of mood. In some scenes going from full on anger and despair into sudden flirting... Its bad

    Gameplay:
I said that The Last of Us hadn't done anything innovative in gameplay in the first game, merely refined and executed pre-established gameplay elements with a lot of polish. Out of a sequel one can expect new mechanics that change and improve the way the player can approach encounters while still retaining the feeling of the first game. The Last of Us Part 2... is boring. The gameplay loop is actually less diverse than the first game with the loop being "Find loot in large area, fight in big area". Thats really about it. There are fewer environmental puzzles than the first game had which emphasized the repetitiveness of the gameplay, even more so as the game is about twice the length of the first. I am a stealth player personally, and even I found the game boring to play after about 10 or so hours. From what ive seen from other players on youtube, the game heavily leans towards this option with the occasional "run and gun" mandatory section.

    Storytelling:
Ok, now this part is where things get... real bad. The story is nonsensical. Overall feels like a bad misery porn fanfiction written by someone that abhorred the characters of the first game with a passion. All the characters have nothing but bleak and misery in this game, with the seldom "cute" moment between Ellie and Dina to try and make the player care about their relationship. I didn't come to care for this at all. Even with Naughtydog trying their hardest by making Dina a sort of lover in distress and making her pregnant in a horrible world in hostile territory. It felt shallow and that I was almost literally being told "hey hey hey, see this? this sucks right? look its depressing so feel bad for them".

Now for Joel. This hurt dude, and not in a good way. It hurt because it was out of character, stupid, coincidence heavy and had no context whatsoever when it happened. Joel and Tommy in the first game survived by not trusting others and doing anything to stay alive for decades. No way in hell am I going to believe that just because theyve been in a settlement for a couple years suddenly they are going to grow out of all those habits, give their names to Abby when they save her life, and then no less follow her to a house with her friends that Joel and Tommy have no reason to trust. This emphasized by the fact that the only reason for it, is that theres a blizzard and they need shelter... WHEN THEY ARE IN A TOWN FULL OF SHELTER THEY CAN GO INTO. LIKE BRUH WTF. Joels death was disrespectful, disgusting, dumb, and horribly executed. I am ok with the fact of him dying, but not like this.

Abby was put into this game with no context when she killed Joel, only having that context tried to me shoehorned in at the halfway point to try and make the player sympathize. In short, it didn't work. I couldn't be bothered whatsoever when playing as her to give a damn and almost made me drop the game altogether. Her relationship segments and flashbacks were cringe at best. The game entirely retconning the other dozen cases of immume subjects found in voice logs that all died for nothing made this even harder to play and watch during cutscenes. Abby is a horrible character, badly written with next to no reason for me to like her or sympathize outside of the fact that she had her father die.

The ending only cemented the dumb nature of this game, and how even the writers themselves couldnt justify their own story. Having a trivial flashback right as Ellie is about to drown Abby that makes her stop. This after the hundreds of people she killed to find her made the entire game pointless; leaving Abby to win and get away with her revenge. While Ellie lost everything.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just played through it. The game was really disappointing for me as a fan of the first one. After I saw the leaks I lowered my expectations and even with my low expectations the game got even worse than I thought. I'm still disappointed by the lazy writing of the Story especially how they handled Joel's death. Tommy and Joel wouldn't be so dumb to reveal their identities to complete strangers especially when they wear uniforms of a miliyary group which doesn't operate in the area of Jackson. There is literally no reason for them two trust the armed group of strangers. I can understand that Abby wants revenge but let's be honest her father was a moron of a doctor who had such a big ego that he wanted to kill a teenager to make a cure. He as a doctor should know that a vaccine for a fungal infection hasn't been achieved with the resources they had before the outbreak. There is literally no chance for a vaccine. And if it would be possible the dumbest thing to do would be to kill the only human known to be immune. Also it's kinda his own fault wanting to kill a girl without consent and to threaten someone who is heavy armoured person with a scalpel. You don't bring a knife to a gunfight. And Abby knows that her dad was willing to kill a girl without her knowing she would die. Many people said the context of the leaks were important. But holy **** it made the game worse. The gameplay was okayisch but at the point where we switch to play as Abby I just wanted the game to end. Story was **** and gameplay got boring. Tlou2 is the first game that made me to switch difficulty to just run through it to get to the end. The end wasn't worth playing to be honest but I was glad the game was over. The game looks beutiful and has many details though. Also the soundtrack is really good like last time. These are the only reasons I give 3 points to this game. Wouldn't recommend fans of the first game to play it. Others might enjoy it more.... Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

The Last Of Us II.

Tomar no c***.

Resumindo, nos contaram uma piada e não a história de The Last Of Us II. É com muito pesar que digo: lamentável...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was looking forward to this game after really enjoying the story from the first TLOU game. Personally I would give that original an 8 or 9. Story wise the original had a great story but some of the game play mechanics held it back. Also, as a personal note. I would never give a game a 10 or a 0; there is always something aspects that could be improved or is great that impacts this for me.

I was hoping to get to see more of the original story and see what would happen to Joel and Ellie. Though after my play through it seems like characters are not acting like their original counterparts. Sadly I think this game is a big let down for me. I think I would have been better off just watching some compiled cut scene video instead of buying. Some spoilers may be noted below.

    Good aspects:
    - Great visuals and linear level design. Graphically the game looks good.
    - Good voice acting. This really does seem like it could be more like a movie than a game.

    Ok aspects:
    - Level design is larger, but still very linear in design. Personally, would have wished we could have seen what a more open environment would have lent to this game.
    - Mechanics are still fairly close to the first game and not much is different at first glance. Core game play is still close to the first game.
    - Stealth aspects do provide a good pacing and tension. But, it will feel not as polished as other more stealth based games.
    - AI is ok, but feels very outdated and not any different than any other games.

    Bad aspects:
    - Overall story, was a major let down for me. I get that this is a revenge plot story but you don't see any resolution or closure for the main character.
    - Characters not acting in line with their past habits or known character aspects. (e.g. you have Joel who is openly trusting not familiar people early on. Joel was not like this and had an open mistrust of new people)
    - There is a lot of plot holes as the story continues on into latter parts of the story
    - Side quest section of the game seems drawn out and doesn't add much. This was around 8-10hrs of game play for me that could have been cut from the game and I don't personally feel it would have changed things.

Overall I was not a fan of this sequel to the first game. The only saving grace to me was visuals and the voice acting. I get what the Naughty Dog team was trying to do in that they wanted a divisive story that may not be for everyone. I think you have achieved that. It was tough getting through this game. With Joel being killed off very quickly and a revenge story that never seem to find any resolutions for Ellie. She never got her revenge and Abby gets away with everything.

Overall if you are fan of the first game and looking for more story telling on that aspect I think you will be let down. I can't say that I would recommend this game to many fans of the first game.

I'll first state this, the graphics were a 10/10 and the gameplay was an 8/10, however the story ruined the game. After Joel died I gave the game the benefit of the doubt. Yes, everyone including me was very upset about the death of Joel. However it could've been done right, but it was porly executed. I enjoyed the story though until the last half of the game. When I realized I had to play 10+ hours as the most unlikable character ever, Abby. I almost quit playing. I kept if they am playing though to see if Ellie gets revenge. Only to find out the ending gave Abby the happy ending and left Ellie alone and her life meaningless. I give the story a 3/10. I will never pick up this game again and now in my mind the only thing cannon about the last of us part II is the last of us' secret epilogue that they put in at the beginning of this game. I am not going to play the last of us part III if they make one either because clearly they are setting it up to star Abby. Very disappointed. Not worth $60. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a person who has played The Last of Us numerous times, marking it as one of my favourite games of all time, I cannot elaborate enough my colossal disappointment with this game. I made a metacritic account for the sole purpose of writing this review.

To begin, the graphical fidelity of this game is remarkable. It's absolutely beautiful to look at, and locations look so real. The combat feels the same as before, but there is some freedom to the gameplay since you can go prone in grass and hide under things (wow, revolutionary right?). But that is not why I disdain this game. The real reason is because of the story, writing, characters and the ending to this **** game.

I do not give a **** about the characters in this game. Mostly. Therefore, I do not care about what's happening in the story. After Joel's stupid demise, I ended up just not caring about what was happening. Sure, thinking about killing Abby was nice, but it's a pretty long time before Ellie and Abby ever meet, AND YOU DON'T EVEN PLAY AS ELLIE. YOU PLAY AS ABBY. WHAT THE **** WERE YOU THINKING, NEIL?

Before I get to that point, the game feels like a 20 hour long side quest and not a lot of significant things happen. The entire purpose is to find and get revenge on Abby. But most of the game isn't that. It's watching characters do tedious puzzles and hearing them make stupid jokes in throwaway dialogue. Sure, i have to admit there were some impressive set-pieces there and then, like Ellie and Jesse in the car, speeding away from the WLF and the infected, but as a whole, it was quite boring and dull.

I've seen live-streams of people and I've never seen such a more bored group of individuals watching someone else play the game.

After like 10 hours, you have a cutscene of Abby pointing a gun at Tommy and Ellie, killing Jesse in the process (a character I didn't care for since he barely had screentime), then it does something so **** stupid it blows my mind. It makes me PLAY ABBY HERSELF FOR ANOTHER 20 HOURS? NOBODY GIVES A **** ABOUT THIS **** FRIDGE OF A WOMAN. SO WHY THE **** AM I BEING WATERBOARDED WITH ANOTHER 10 HOUR ****FEST OF ME PLAYING AS SOMEONE I DON'T CARE ABOUT? THIS FRIDGE, WHO LOOKS LIKE A 9 YEAR OLD CHILD AND A 40 YEAR OLD MAN AT THE SAME TIME, IS THE PERSON WE HAVE TO PLAY?!

People in livestreams exclaimed in joy whenever Abby gets shot, falls off a building, burned alive, her neck snapped. This is the same character we are forced to sympathise with, yet nobody at this point of the game cares about her. We have to see her interact with other one-dimensional characters and the ONLY good one that I can remember, being Lev. I somewhat liked Lev and his/her interactions with Abby. But at that point of the game, I stopped caring that much about him/her.

Then, when get through the game, we're back to the present, Abby kills Jesse, then cripples Tommy, then proceeds to chase Ellie down and beat the ever-living **** out of her, knocking her pregnant girlfrined out. Ellie goes back for revenge afterwards.

And this is the part where I'm the most infuriated.
THE ENDING. After having this "epic showdown" with Abby, Ellie gets two of her fingers bitten off. Ellie proceeds to drown the **** in the water. But then, after a brief flashback of Joel, she doesn't kill her, because "REVENGE BAD lmao". Ellie literally loses her fingers, her girlfriend, her relationship with Tommy, she loses Joel, her parental figure, but Abby gets to live and get off almost scotfree?

    WHAT THE ****?
BECAUSE OF THAT ENDING, THE GAME BEEN RENDERED A COMPLETE WASTE OF **** TIME AND MONEY. 60 GREAT BRITISH STONES GONE. ABOUT 20-25 HOURS GONE. FOR THAT **** ENDING?

I'd rather replay Mass Effect 3 and watch the ending a thousand times over this dog**** of a result. Fire Neil Druckmann, don't ever let him milk this murdered franchise, and keep him far away from the gaming industry along with that witch Anita Sarkeesian. I've never been more **** angry seeing a game since... I don't even know!

so yeah this game is **** and is only 3/10 because graphics i guess.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game should be one of the best games of the PS4’s lifetime to ever release, unfortunately, it’s left me with lingering bitter taste for me to ponder on. While at many moments I will admit I do feel immersed into the game and I feel the character’s— be it Ellie or Abby— emotions and understand their convictions. This game tried and failed to compare the two characters of Joel, and strangely, Abby. Her relationship with the scars child Lev mimics that of the relationship and travels done in the first game as Joel and Ellie. Abby kills anyone in her way to take care of Lev and Yara, even in the end betraying her own people. At times you can almost see a semblance of remorse that she may feel, like when invading the scars’ island, but it is executed in an utterly terrible way. Abby even mimics Joel in the way her character plays gameplay wise, having a similar move set using her bare hands to pummel zombies, and being more stiff and rigid than Ellie, to even the return of shivs in gameplay albeit with a new slight twist. I very much so want to like this game which is why it leaves me with such a bitter conflicted feeling in the end as it simply doesn’t live up to the first entry in any meaningful way except for the improvements to the engine, graphics, and gameplay, although too little in terms of change in my opinion. I’d give this game a 3/10 simply because of the graphics, the fighting animations, and set pieces. It’s that golden pile of crap from American Dad, looks beautiful sure, but it’s still a pile of **** at the end of the day. Expand

Killing Joel in the first hour of the game, proves, that Naughty Dog doesn't care about what made their previous title to the Last of Us Part 2 so emotional and interesting. Don't get me wrong, this game is really great. I love the graphics, the realism, almost everything. But, like I said, if you pretty much start off your sequel to killing one of the most beloved characters that made the predecessor so great, then you are automatically doing something wrong.

The gameplay is essentially the same TLOU 1 with some tweaks. Nothing ground breaking, but works fine. 5/10 The plot / story is where the game fails in my opinion - it begins very strong, and begins to fizzle out as previously established characters make questionable decisions that are almost antithetical to what came before, as well as plot threads that seem to strain believability within the world that’s been created. One controversial death in particular - and the choice to move the plot towards the development of newer, less interesting characters ( with one major perspective shift in particular) makes it seem like the plot was decided early on with the characters just arbitrarily moved around to make it all fit and fails to feel organic at all. Decisions in the storytelling that should come off as bold and smart, come off as half baked and empty. Part of me wonders if it would have been more effectively told as a story completely separate from the first - or, it the team had opted to focus on the new characters right away and reveal twists as the game progressed instead of marketing the game based on continuing the story established in part 1. 1.5/10 As an a huge fan of the first game - and as a player who has played through it no less that 5 times, I can’t help but feel like Joel and Ellie deserved better. Final thoughts - divisiveness aside - the game will certainly be a huge success, but as someone who’s loved nearly all of Naughty Dog’s catalogue and TLOU1 in particularly being an all time favorite, it pains me to say that ultimately, this sequel is extremely disappointing.

I have to wonder, in a world where characters can shrug off being shot, crawl & run for hours without tiring and can build gun modifications from scraps, why is it only the depression that needs to be realistic?

If this is the quality of their products going forward then there will be no more Naughty Dog for me.

The graphics are beautiful, the enemy ai is relentless and smart, the soundtrack is phenomenal, the combat is great, the animations are so good they might as well be a gen apart and the world oozes detail.
All in all, its as damn near a masterpiece, if viewed on a vacuum.

And let's move on the the problem. The story is a complete mess. There's a lot of it that doesn't convey what ND wanted to convey, it does not work at all.
There's a lot of plot contrivances that ask a monumental amount of suspension of disbelief from the player.
There's also the fact that the ending is the most nonsensical and ridiculous thing I've ever seen, it has no believability whatsoever and leaves the game as a crushing and unsatisfying experience that I will never want to replay and would trade in immediately if I hadn't got it digitally -_-.

I could go into more detail about all of this, and probably should, but I really think spoilers should never be part of any kind of review. Let's just say, that when all is said and done, it completely negates any enjoyment all the good parts bring, and I cannot imagine who ever thought this was anything but bad and ham-fisted writing.

Sadly the only good thing this game had has been ruined.... yes many talk about it’s amazing visuals and graphics, but if you are one of those persons that only plays a game from its graphics then that leave a lot to tell about your simplistic mind to be entertained. Yes, the game looks nice, but honestly is not a big deal for this time when many games look as good or BETTER than TLOU2. Gameplay wise, is a joke. It is still very linear, it strives to recreate an open world feeling but honestly sort of fails to it. It’s mechanics are quiet similar from the first. Side of adding a dodge button and a jump button that is as useless as milking a bull. AI feels kind of the same, but again is not a big deal compare to nowadays other games. The only thing that made the first game appealing was its story, yes perhaps back then also its gameplay was interesting but by now is not.. and if u ruin the story then the game is sadly not as good as it used to. Now why the story bad? First, is not because of the all new LGBT content cuz then again it is being added everywhere and that doesn’t really makes the game bad. What does makes it bad is, all its plot holes, characters that never connect with you, boring characters, the sad pathetic dead of one of the most beloved characters from the first series, the constant weird change of behavior from some of the characters, and the worst thing! Being forced to play with the one character every single player hates the most! He killer! For 10 BLOODY HOURS! This is just a joke. His game is not as good as we all expected it to be.... This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. ATTENTION Naughty Dog! Please don’t bring back Uncharted to have a woman no one cares about kill Nathan and Elaine within 2 hours and then their daughter ultimately doesn’t get any revenge. That would be just swell. I signed up to Metacritic just to give a review on this game cause I’m stunned. The 95 rating the critics give this game compared to the actual everyday players/users show exactly the world we live in today, the critics are to afraid off speaking the truth and don’t want to offend anyone with an actual real genuine thought. Context is everything Naughty Dog said in regards to the spoilers and killing Joel, one of the best characters on any gaming platform was killed within 2 hours. When we spent one of the best games of all time (first game) building this bond and care for both of them, this was one of the biggest slaps to the face to gamers I’ve ever seen. We all knew Joel was probably going to die to set Ellie on her revenge path and I was going to be ok with this, but how they did it, my jaw dropped in horror. Joel firstly saves Abbey from certain death then gives up his name easily and has no last words to Ellie, just beaten to death with a golf club. Now with some time to grieve and set on my path of revenge I may be able to get past this and if it was great and tense gameplay and a good story to follow I could maybe give this an 8 or 9 but BUT BUTTTTT HERES WHERE ITS UNFORGIVABLE, TO MAKE ME PLAY 50% of the game as the person who brutally murdered Joel, Eugene and then Tommy was one of the WORSE GAMING DECISION MADE IN HISTORY!. They wanted me to care so much for Abbey and see it from
her point of view. NO NAUGHTY DOG NO! Joel and Ellie where The Last of Us, simple as that and you killed the best thing about it and then made us play Abbey. Not to mention the drawn out and longgggg Seattle mission just to catch up to Tommy and get info from Abbeys friends too her whereabouts and that’s Ellie entire 8 Hour run before it switched to Abbey, that is just lazy and extremely bad story telling. I loved the first one so much, I played it many times and then the opening to The Last of Us 2 was moving and almost perfect, telling Tommy what he did and then riding to Jackson playing as Joel and seeing Ellie and singing her a song, I was so happy and ready for this game. Perfect start and then after the stupid snowball fight it all went down hill. This just made me think of the failure of Game Of Thrones and Star Wars, no one can stick the landing these days!!!

The Last of Us 1 was a game that defined a generation and no one asked for a sequel because it didn’t need it, it was like a perfect 10 episode mini series that was just right. But now all they’ve done is bring these characters back and either kill them or not even get the justice they deserve, Naughty Dog just pulled a David and Dan. Gameplay is pretty much the same, nothing really new and graphics are great but when it’s a story driven, linear game then story is KEY! and you messed up big time. 4/10

The level designs were interesting and visually pleasing but did not add any complexity to the gameplay. Each map felt like you could run and gun it with ease. Stealth felt very obsolete because of the openness of the level designs. I wish the infected were more numerous and harder to navigate through but sadly the game took a different direction by making humans the main enemies. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Basura progresista.

The graphics are gorgeous, gameplay is so-so (if it ain't broke don't fix it), but the writing is so out of touch with not only its own franchise but its fanbase. ND is a studio that's specialized in stories, so I'm weighing story the heaviest, but the plotlines for TLOU2 feel comparable to S8 of GoT. I was so excited for a badass female lead but was left with dissatisfied and heartbroken that they'd trash their own characters they spent years building up for a new barely fleshed out villain. If you want some basic shooting and crafting this is the game for you, but if you're expecting a well thought out and sincere story then it'd be best to skip this one. The character dialogue while exploring sounds is incredibly bland, hearing Ellie and Dina talk sounds like the sort of basic messages you send on Tinder. Characters are introduced then randomly killed off and never mentioned again, the writers introduce you to this psychopathic villain and then force you to empathize with them afterwards. The cult that's highlighted in the trailers just exists, it's never explored. It pulls the pregnancy card WAY too many times and kills people for shock value, which is a sign the writer really has no idea how to write a compelling plotline without nixing your favorite character. This whole game feels like I read a Tumblr fanfic, fells asleep, and woke up 20 hours later. Companies will keep producing crap so long as we keep paying for it, and they'll keep trying to charge more and more. Expand

Voice actors and music are excellent. That said the overall improvements are not good enough to justify the lack of overall quality in this game.

I went in with the expectation that this game would be reminiscent of the first game in terms of narrative quality and character development. I could accept it if they dropped the ball slightly on both of those aspects, but they dropped the ball so low that if this is the quality I can expect Naughty Dog will produce in the future, then they have assuredly lost another customer . Its not just the direction they have decided to go with for this installment but the sheer amount of glaring plot holes and disrespectful re-characterizations that have been done to create the illusion of a meaningful plot and destroy the attachment you may have had to the previous cast of characters. I won’t even go into the gameplay-story dissonance that occurs.

If characters, narrative quality, pacing, character development and general storytelling are something you valued in the first game, then do not bother playing this. If you feel its something you just have to play for yourself, then borrow it from a friend or buy it at a discount.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am a big fan of The Last of Us. The story, the atmosphere, the character. I love everything inside. But the sequel, wha to say... it’s a disgrace to the previous fan.

Lets talk about the gameplay first. Compare to the first one, it definitely improved much better. You can tell the difference if you played the first game. The stealth was not much improved but when in combat, the fight was intense. The gun customizations are satisfying to watch. The AI was much smarter (I guess?) and harder. You have to play smart to overcome it. The movement control was still little hard to control.

For graphics details, naughty dog just been naughty dog. The graphics was very details to hard to ignore. Everything you see can be used for background. Now, the main point - Story. The reason why I was in love the Last of Us is not only the gameplay, also the story. At first, I was not really interested in the game. But when I get my hands on the copy., the story telling, the settings and characters are convincing me why this game won the game of the year.

So when I heard the sequel comes out, I pre ordered the game and thought this will be another masterpiece. It was until I heard the leaks. At first I was thinking they aren’t even true or just a part of it. So I decided to ignore them and have to experience the game myself.

When I get the game and played for 2 hours, I... I really... what the f? Who wrote this stuff? Someone who was high on drug or getting drunk? Let me get this right, Joel was supposed to be a veteran survivors, so does his brother Tommy. They all are well-experienced and they are always on high alert, especially strangers. So you telling they told their names to nobody and followed a group of them into small room without suspicious. And they introduced themselves causally. Really? If you telling me the ways they acted like that because they were relaxing peaceful days for too long or getting old age. I can say it to you, what the **** It’s like they are totally different person from the first one.

The second, new characters Abby. I have no objection of introducing another playable characters. But this character was totally unlovable. You telling I have to play this character to know why she killed Joel and fight back the main character Ellie!???? Why!? Why in the hell you have to play as the one you wanted to kill. And main characters lost to her? I just dont get it. Why tho?

Third, I have to clear it for myself. I don’t deny any facts of LGBT inside the game. But the way they present it are way uncomfortable than real life. I literally have to skip those cutscenes or pause the game.

Fourth, this is a revenge story right? You played as Ellie. You killed every last of your enemy allias and you let your revenge target go away????????? What the **** It’s like John Wick killed every single one of his enemy and let go the only one who killed his dog? What the ****?

Fifth, the only thing I cant really stand for. Ending, after Elie gave up her revenge and go back to Jackson. All of her people she cared were gone and left. Leaving only her alone and barely to play the guitar, nowhere to go or dont know what to do anymore. This is even worse than Joel ending.

Overall, the gameplay, the graphics, the voice act, the cutscenes, all ruined by a bad story telling. I have no idea what the hell is the writer thinking about. If I was to compare some of the movies or series, It’s like watching one of the anime I watched, Kemono Friends S2. **** plot.

It's depressing what happens to Joel and Ellie. They deserved better. I guess this game is good for people who like movies with bad endings. I'm never buy another naughty dog game while druckman is involved. Expand

The story is very very disappointing compared to the first game. The gameplay is similar to the first so I guess it's alright but that's all it really has going for it

Revenge plot without getting Revenge. Imagine watching Kill Bill vol 2 and the bride doesn’t kill bill and let’s him go.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
