This sequel has gorgeous graphics, some intense  combat and great soundtrack. All this is marred by a garbage story, a story that **** on everything you did in the first game. This game features some very u likeable characters that I will never root for. In the first game, you feel like all the things you are doing are for a reason, you're doing it for the Improvement and survival of humanity, Ellie had the key to finding immunity. You felt like it was your responsibility to take care of Ellie, there was a bond. But in this game it doesn't have any of that, you can clearly see that this games priority was conveying a woke political message, pushing gay and trans ideology, painting men as weak, and they clearly let that get in the way of telling a good story and failed to make us care about these new characters. We get enough of this from Hollywood.  If they want to make a game like this, that's fine, but start with a new franchise, don't ruin a good one. People don't get upset that this content exists, they get upset that it's forced onto existing IP's. The reason they do this is because if it was an original IP, nobody would buy it. This game is a huge disappointment and a spit in the face of any fan of the first game. Expand

What’s so frustrating about Part 2 is that the game seems to have all the pieces necessary to do just that. But those pieces end up getting lost as the game also tries to tell an entirely new story, one that tries to expand the Last of Us world into a generalized setting for an anthology of loosely connected stories. The end result never comes together in a satisfying way.

That doesn’t take away from the many enjoyable, memorable, and even emotional moments as Part 2’s barrels from promising start to messy conclusion. But it also serves as a marked comedown from the quiet, directed, self-contained confidence of the first game.

I don’t regret the time I spent back in the world of The Last of Us. But a big part of me was left wondering if its creators just should have left well enough alone.

    Postive things
    - The gameplay feels so close with part 1 that makes you feel like you were in home
    - You're gonna love Ellie's flashbacks.
    - Ellie and Dina have a natural relationship that does not feel forced at all.
    Neutral things
    - Despite the fact that it's a PS4 game the graphics feels so PS3, Do´not misunderstand me, they look great but ND could improve more in some facial actions like Dina, sometimes feels kind of computarized compared to Ellie.
    - Sometimes the exploration takes so much time just for nothing that makes it boring, kind of Death Stranding
    Negative Things:
    - Flashbacks inside flashbacks
    - The History has a bad writting, the circle of violence became a joke
    - Abby is not what you though but her character feels forced in the history

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The story is **** and it ruins TLOU1.

Gameplay: 8/10 It's the same gameplay as the first game, for better or worse. Slightly worse in some areas but can't complain about what was already good having some stains.

Graphics: 10/10. Look at it. What do I need to explain?

Consistency: 4/10 What is consistency? Why it's keeping things in line with established knowledge and lore. This game fails at it on several occasions. The inconsistency on Joel's personality, Ellie's personality, Ellie's immunity, and established clicker lore is terrible.

Story: 4/10 Look at this point I don't need to tell you how to feel about the story. Personally I thought it was trite and poorly handled. I have some closing thoughts but as a story, it's okay at best. The beats and ideas they chose to do aren't the problems. It's arriving at them and how they're handled. None of these ideas are new, but the presentation and manner we experience them are **** terrible. That being said, Ellie and Dina do not have the carrying power that Joel and Ellie had, or even Nathan and anyone else in an Uncharted game. Maybe you'll feel differently and be engaged but for me, they were boring.

PR: 0/10 [SPOILERS IN THIS SECTION] Neil Druckmann, regardless of what can be proven or not strikes me as insufferable. To the potential OC who spits on our old protagonist and almost shoots the new one. The new protag who despite getting their revenge doesn't suffer for it at all. The same protag who is then **** and railed by possible Druckmann OC. The masochistic interviews that amount the game to no fun here and the alleged mistreatment of employees all really make me not like this game from the outset and I'll admit that. So if you think any part of this review has a bias, maybe that's why.

Overall: Eh/10. I wasn't going to buy 2, but I made sure I got a taste of what's here. And what's here sucks. This feels like a video game in which Druckmann decided he'd do what he wanted, tell a story in which he spat on the first game in every conceivable way possible, and then the actual gameplay was an afterthought. I would not be surprised if there was a plan to have you run through this game with zero combat. Because Druckmann thinks he's Kojima.

I don't know why the game seems to hate the first one so much, but it's apparent. And if you find some joy in this game, more power to you. You spent 60 bucks on this product and you deserve to get something out of it, even if I think it's a waste of your money.

All in all, just go play Last of Us 1 and enjoy it. Because this game will actively poison any desire to revisit the franchise. If you take anything away from this review, there are better games to play, including the original. Lisa, Pathologic, and others do this kind of idea way better.

There's a lot more to go into but I've already written way more then I was willing to.

As a videogame it's a 6, as a sequel, it's a 4. And as a piece of media, I beg every single one of you to never play this game.

PS: Any reviewer who gave this game a 10 needs to have their journalistic integrity questioned.

The Last of Us Part II has a real problem telling a story. The plot is mangled and characters do things extremely out of character that make no sense when considering the first game's plot. It's heartbreaking to see such a legacy be thrown away like this. You can tell the writers sat down and and really focused on characters instead of a story. They decided to write this story based around characters they really wanted to broadcast, as opposed to writing the characters that fit the story, into the story they wanted to tell. The game suffers immensely because of this and likely won't be a patch to fix it. At this point, I'm just hoping not to see a third.

Also, isn't it a bit odd reviewers could only talk about a small portion of the game? Almost like they're hiding something in the latter half? That 95 is definitely not truthful. I think the voices of the actual fan base here are a lot more important than those of reviewers who weren't even allowed a full game. This game is equivalent to being spit on and shouldn't even have the last of us title attached to it.

The graphics are pretty though.. whoopdie doo, I suppose. And the gameplay mildly expanded upon, but more or less stuck in the last gen. But in a game so heavily revered for its story, I don't think these aspects are the ones everyone is worried about meeting their expectations. The story is such a mangled mess, I can't give it anything higher than a 3. In a game so heavily dependent on story to really come together, it's like a macaroni painting without the glue.

Abby would have been better character if they didn't set up the death in that context, the storytelling is bad and upside down, it could have been done midway or above through a different way where you make players love Abby too but then **** goes down, and you could have made the fight between the two is mixed like she kicks Abby and you blink and you are taking control of Abby now and then like that until it fit more sensibly, this was poor taste, this plot is ok but not in that arrangement, i wish i love to play Abby i liked her but the **** her story tooooooooooooooooooooooooo early, i dont care about SJW stuff in the game as long as i enjoy the game, but i hated how they told the story and how they ended joel story, they should have made people love Abby in gameplay with her time then make the player torn when the times is up, not like that im sad.

The last of us II Definitely a good game, with a good technical part (the same moment with a foggy city) I was very surprised that the old PlayStation 4 has enough power to run it, the physics is cool, the graphics are nowhere better, the details are very good ... But here's what spoiled the game: The plot! Yes, right now there will be spoilers, the moment with Joel, where Abby beats him to death with a stick, it's cruel, a very strong scene, but the game has a disgusting ending because of this, I think that if Abby was killed, okay, everything would be more or less, but to forgive the one who actually killed Ellie's father is stupid, I understand why it was necessary, but this is a stupid move, I love Joel and I find it hard to believe in his death. 3 Expand

I loved Last of Us Part 1. Great story, compelling characters, optimisim in the face of something disastrous that occurred to society and still hunts them. This.... this is none of that. The characters from the first game are changed so radically that they act and behave nothing like them in this game. They either got a personality transplant or got lobotomized. And then we come to the 'spoilers'. Yes folks, the spoilers that leaked were correct for the most part (Abby isn't trans though, but the designers sure went out of their way to make her into quite a manly woman, and there's a sex scene with her getting it from behind that's just.... wow).

Now, the gameplay itself is about what we had in part 1. Not a whole lot of changes (jumping was added but doesn't make much difference). Combat system is about the same, just with new and smoother animations. Honestly expected a lot more, and innovative changes to gameplay and combat, which was disappointing, it feels dated in that manner.

The actual graphics are absolutely beautiful, and about the only very good thing about this game - I'm surprised they managed to coax that level of graphics out of the PS4

But then we get to the actual plot and story. The worst is what they do to Joel. Completely different personality, doesn't act anything like he did in the first game, and within the first few hours, Abby, the new character (Druckman once claimed that Ellie would be the only playable character - straight up lied to us) you're forced to play for a good portion of the game, bashes his brains in with a 9 iron. That in itself made me want to quit playing - I sure as hell quit watching Walking dead when they had Negan beat Glenn's brains out with his bat. I don't understand, do these people think being edgelords with over the top violence makes something better? It doesn't, especially with all the constancy of it, and your inability to choose non-violence or to do something other than what they force you to do in the story (and then wag their finger at you about how bad your violence is!)

Anyway, after Abby caves Joel's head in with a golf club like she's on Office Space going at a printer, you're literally forced to play as this person, which is even more sickening. Honestly, between the ultraviolence and the forced play as this character, there was only so far I could go before shutting off the game. I'll probably sell it at a loss on e-bay, because I sure ain't going to finish this garbage.

Very disappointed in Naughty Dog, they've fallen way off since Uncharted and Last of Us 1 when it comes to character and story. Don't think I'll be buying from them again.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Firstly the gameplay, scenery and most of the dialogue between missions is amazing as it was in the first game. Some of my favourite parts in the game was hearing the little conversations between the main characters and old Joel + Ellie flash back dialogue. (SPOILER) But the elephant in the room the story. It is unbelievably disappointing. The story begins with amazing fan service I.e seeing the characters we love thriving years after the first game, meeting some interesting new characters along the way, until the game throws a curve ball, severing the ties with one of these beloved characters, Joel. The story then morphs into a revenge story which is fine in the grand scheme of things, but it slowly starts to force empathy for the characters we are drawn to hate, also forcing an ark where u play as the woman responsible for beating Joel to death with a golf club, which is far to long. I felt like I was on auto pilot and being fed a narrative for no reason.

It becomes apparent the game just keeps throwing brief flash backs of Joel to mess with the attachments we have grown to him especially towards the end of the game when the two girls we play as finally fight. With this theme we are treated to an unbearably brutal part of the game, we are forced to play as the villain just after they have shot and killed one of the nicest friends portrayed in the game, then shooting tommy in the face obviously done in the moment to make players think he is dead. At this moment I almost switched off the game. The game then forces you to chase down Ellie and beat her to a pulp. The rest only gets worse from there, finally ending with the last word of the script, Joel once again being thrown in our faces like nothing with a “yep”. How bout a no.

The biggest con is the story. l'm not upset that they had a heavy, unsettling, surprising storyline. In fact, that can be fun and interesting and thought provoking. The the characters and backstory are so unlikeable that you can't empathize with their reasoning. The result of that is just feeling (as the player) frustrated and betrayed. I didn't enjoy the gameplay and I didn't enjoy the story and I didn't empathize or feel connected to any of the characters or their motivations. It's a bad game. Druckman made it impossible to empathize and care about new characters whilst assassinating old, well-loved ones.

What made me fall in love and become invested in the first game was: the characters, their interactions, the harsh bleak world contrasted against these people who find each other and have these moments of hope.

Unfortunately Part 2 lost most of this for me. Graphically the game is beautiful, nothing bad to say about combat except that it was nothing special/barely improved from the first game.

I’d have to rate this game a 3 as I simply did not enjoy it and felt no emotional investment in this new story or new characters.

It’s a shame a I was looking forward to this for years and played tlou part 1 several times over.

The game doesn't impressed me in any way. The gameplay is a bore-fest paired with weak story & plot holes. The treatment toward known character is disrespectful & most of the characters is pretty uninteresting. I didn't have any love toward the first one but I fully agreed that it is a far better game than part II. I don't really know who is this game for and for what crowd it is pandering to.

Never have I been more excited for a game when it was announced. Same studio working on it, Joel and Ellie back but more older and more mature, a darker storyline...everything seemed so perfect. How could you really screw that up ? but oh boy, screw it up they did, and royally.
But let's start off with the positives - visually the game is fantastic. the voice acting, cutscenes and music
Never have I been more excited for a game when it was announced. Same studio working on it, Joel and Ellie back but more older and more mature, a darker storyline...everything seemed so perfect. How could you really screw that up ? but oh boy, screw it up they did, and royally.
But let's start off with the positives - visually the game is fantastic. the voice acting, cutscenes and music are still top-notch. As a player, I could tell a lot of effort went into making these aspects fantastic. But even these part of the game come with a catch.
the voice acting is great, but is delivered by some of the most unlikable, preachy and just downright bad characters I've seen in games. The game tries very hard to make you like these characters, to understand their perspective and why they are the way that they are, but this just doesn't work. The turn from " hate these guys" to "try to understand and love them" comes too late in the story to change the players' mind about the characters and even then, it' s like the writers knew they were running out of time in the story and try to push the likability on the player too much and too quickly. i was just bored and uninterested. The game is heavily focused on trying to switch your point of view on the events of the first game, as well. many deep questions like :" WHO' S REaLlY ThE BaD PEoPLe?!" are asked. the story is handled in such an amateur fashion I'm shocked it got any traction in the writers room at all. Many events, characters and moments from the first game are actively discarded and spit on.
Visually the game is fantastic, but after 15 hours of the same "Small town with rusted cars and buildings" environments, it gets just a little obnoxious. the tall grass looks fantastic, but damn.
the gameplay remains mostly unchanged from the first game, but small tweaks and refinements were made, I must admit. Nothing groundbreaking, but that's that.
the only parts of the game I genuinely enjoyed were some of the flashback sequences with Joel and Ellie. specifically the museum section. it was touching, delightful, the dialogue had warmth, care and it was spoken by two well-developed characters who had a believable history with each other. once that scene ended, it was back to garbage.
The game is also just a chore to finish, it drags in the last 6 hours and it's very hard to find motivation to keep going till the end.
From a story perspective it's a complete mess. it looks very nice and plays okay, but visuals and stealth gameplay were not the elements i cared about in " the last of us". I cared about the story. And there' s just nothing here for me. bad characters, uninteresting story, boring scenarios...it' s devoid of any enjoyment.
I won't be recommending this game to anyone I know and will be trying my darndest to completely forget this games existence.

The only reason I'm giving this game a 3 is because it is a technical marvel from both a visual and audio perspective. The controls are tighter and more refined than the first game visually, you could argue this game is superior to God of War as the best looking game this console generation. But from a story perspective, this game gets a 1 out of 10. After playing the game for 2 hours, they kill Joel in the worst possible way, portraying Joel as being out of character and disrespecting his character to the highest degree. Afterwards, they force you to play the majority of the game as the character that killed Joel. What in the actual eff. I couldn't continue the game after just 3 hours of playing and I did something I've never done before: stop playing a game because the story upset me too much. I've stopped playing games before because the gameplay was terrible or not fun, but in this case, the story absolutely infuriated me to no end. Naughty Dog has really screwed this one up, and from here on out I have to think really hard about buying any game this company creates. For shame, Naughty Dog, for shame..... Expand

Graphics and Mechanics on the game were fantastic... there are sections of the game where the graphics are absolutely phenomenal, and it is seriously impressive how far and how detailed this franchise has come. That being said, the story... I cannot believe that the characters developed throughout the previous game have been thrown to the wayside and dumped on like they have. I am not going to spoil this because there is enough spoilers in this thread, but seriously... I've seen better plot lines in Dynasty Warriors games. Playing as Abby feels 100% forced and you have to conduct things as Abby that are forced. I didn't even like Abby yet I am being forced to carry out actions against characters I enjoyed playing and want to succeed. It's like watching Rob Zombies 31 and not caring if any of the protagonists die because you cannot stand any of them.

I'd rather go back to playing the first game and enjoy the development versus playing this again. I literally hated the forced narrative and essentially destroying characters I built in the previous game. Yuck

I think I'm about halfway through the story and don't recognize anybody from the last game. To me, this isn't a sequel to The Last of Us, but a new game that tries and fails to put itself in that universe.

And if I think the game is that bad why am I giving it a 3: the flashbacks in the game are what we wanted and what we deserved. There are so few openly gay characters in gaming today it sucks to see one destroyed like this.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'd like to start off by saying that the first game was a masterpiece that really introduced strong characters and an engaging plot. Sadly, as much as I try to find something positive about this steaming pile of **** I cannot forget about how the plot has taken a nosedive to a horrendous level. There are so many decisions and plot choices that are so horrific that it's hard for me to believe that this pile of garbage belongs to a game series that has been glorified for so many years.

Where to even begin..Joel has been an integral part of the series for so long, and while I completely understand that the writers wanted to send him off, this was NOT the way to do it. It was completely disrespectful to Joel's character. The entire scenario of Joel getting ambushed is completely unlike the Joel that was showcased in The Last of Us 1. If the writers wanted Joel out of the series, could they not have the decency to do it in a way that was slightly respectful of the characters and wasn't unlike his actual character???

It's also hard to ignore the elephant in the room. Abby was introduced in this game as the person who murdered Joel for killing some random doctor that was going to operate on Ellie. Throughout the entire first game, it's been made apparently that the Fireflies are a terrorist group that use violence to accomplish their means. Yet for some reason, the second game decides to portray them and Abby as heroes and protaginists instead?? There literally couldn't be a worse way to set up a character's backstory. Her character was a joke, and completely unlikeable!

Apparently, the entire plot is supposed to be some sort of revenge story with Ellie going after Abby for vengence for murdering Joel. She murders dozens and dozens of her henchmen to get to her. Yet for some completely unknown reason, Ellie chooses to spare Abby's life after finally having Abby at her mercy. This makes no sense!! It completely demolishes her entire journey!

Overall, I can't like this game. I just can't. It disrespects all the characters, introduces new ones that are unlikeable, has bizzare plot holes that make no sense, and consists of a revenge story that has a confusing ending. I'm incredibly disappointed with this bleak game, and I cannot reccomend this to anyone.

I don’t know what possessed Druckman to turn a highly anticipated sequel into the video game version of game of thrones season 8, but him being made into an out of place NPC that’s only there to spit and curse in Spanish in the game speaks volumes. This game isn’t about the cycle of revenge and anger, this is about some moron with an agenda trying to and pitifully failing at sUbVeRtInG eXpEcTaTiOnS. Also, a sex scene? Yeah, that’s exactly the kind of content I look for in post-apocalypse horror video games. Congratulations on dropping the ball all the way to the center of the earth. Expand

The standards for story-telling were set extremely high and this game fumbled it; there is just WAY too many plot holes, unnecessary characters injected and rules broken set up by the first game. The gameplay and the ND formula of false freedom of choice, level design and "puzzle" have not been advanced and do not make up for the entire story unfortunately. If one has no ties to the characters of the first game, likes the gameplay and good graphics, this game is for you. Not for me though.

3:Game also throws lotsa "Why are u so bad?" and other undertones when you kill enemies who attack you while not giving you any choice to not defeat them. This also ties back to Ellie not killing Abby, but being absolutely okay with killing hundreds of other people just to get to Abby

The interactive and choosing elements are almost non-existent in story, which is quite a problem when the story, voice-acting and graphics are the only things going for it

It was a clear disappointment overall and I felt like I was watching an 80's b flick made into playable form. The story was a simple revenge story with no revenge resulting in an unfulfilled journey without a payoff. After killing hundreds of infected and human to just turn around and not finish the journey off because to not repeat the cycle doesn't make sense in this apocalyptic world. The theme doesn't match with the theme of the world. A shoehorned idea just to milk out money.
Graphically it's great. Controller and the game play is redundant from it's first iteration.

It's very clear to me what Naughty Dog are doing here, they ended this game the way they did knowing it would leave us wanting revenge on Abby, long theory short they want you to pay for a DLC story expansion so you can finally kill Abby. This is why they really delayed the game multiple times, they weren't making it better, they were cutting content to sell separately. My main gripes with Part 2 aren't only the story, my problems are that the gameplay is full of boringly scripted sequences and outdated, and more importantly the replayability value is nonexistent, at least with RDR2, God Of War and Spider-Man i can free roam and still have fun exploring, but The Last of Us Part 2 once you complete it that's it, there's not even a strategy guide for this game, it gets a 3 for excellent graphics, audio and atmosphere, i'm going to play Sekiro Shadows Die Twice now because that is truly a masterpiece, i'm done with this forced "accept homosexuals" agenda. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well, I am no professional game journalist, or even a good writer, and this is my first ever serious review of a game. I hope you all will understand what I mean, and why I gave this game such a low rating. English isn`t even my native language, but after seeing how this game turned out, I can`t be silent.

This game made me so angry by killing of Joel in such a dumb manner. He was an experienced survivor, with over 20 years of experience. I loved the previous game for how they portrayed the characters, seeing them have fun, living together, and surviving together. This game misses the important part too why (at least for me) the previous game had such good storytelling. When i started to play this game I was hoping for another Joel and Ellie game, were you would change between playing as them, and possibly other side characters like Tommy, but what I got was 10 hours of gameplay were i was forced to play as a character that i hated because of her actions. I sat patiently, and inn excitement to finally after all these years to play as Joel, but only 2 hours into the game he dies, and I feel no sympathy for the antagonist for killing him, even after hearing her reason to doing so. Inn my mind this was purely done for "shock factor" and not for any other reason then this. I myself didn`t see, or read any spoilers of this game, and my heart broke seeing Joel die such an unsatisfying death, only leaving a sour taste inn my mouth.

On another note. The gameplay/game mechanics has gotten a huge upgrade since part 1, and the visuals also look astonishing. I hope that future games will also look as pretty as this game.

The only reason I don`t give this game a 0, or 1 is because of the gameplay, and the visuals.

Thank you for reading my review of The Last Of Us Part II

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me start off right away by saying this: I have owned The Last of Us since it was first released. I have replayed the game nearly 20 times, and sometimes when I'm bored I'll just replay random chapters. I've watched, and rewatched, Youtube playthroughs. That's how much I love it. Joel and Ellie are my favorite characters in any video game. So when the second game was announced, you can imagine how excited I was. When the first trailer was released, you can imagine how excited I was. With each step closer to the release, my anticipation grew. I preordered the special edition, prepared to spend $200 on this game. THAT is how much I love TLoU.

When the leaks first surfaced, I put my foot down and refused to look. Naughty Dog created Uncharted and TLoU, my favorite video games EVER. I refused to doubt them. A week or so passed, and I'd successfully avoided spoilers. Then I saw it. Stupidly, I scrolled through a comment section, and my eyes caught on the words: "Joel dies". My heart sank and I immediately kept scrolling, trying to convince myself that I hadn't seen it, that it was probably fake anyway, that I could simply move past it. But here's the thing... when I say Joel and Ellie are my favorite characters, the emphasis is on Joel. I. Love. Joel. So naturally, my imagination started racing. "Do I want to spend $200 on the game if Joel dies?"

So I took the leap. And I will forever be grateful that I did. Within 2 minutes of reading the leaks I was crying, cancelling my preorder and unable to fall asleep that night. I cannot describe to you the heartbreak and rage that I felt at discovering what would happen to my beloved characters. That was weeks ago, and I've since cooled down. Before this game was even released, I mourned for Joel, went through the stages of grief. So now, at the time of release, I'm no longer raging - I'm just disappointed.

Now I've been watching playthroughs, and the graphics are as beautiful as expected. I live in Seattle, and even THAT isn't enough to get me to buy this game. Do you know how excited I was, when I first heard the game would be in my home city?! The idea of exploring Seattle with Joel and Ellie was MINDBLOWING. Now, it's an afterthought. Exploring Seattle within this graphically stunning video game isn't enough. I will not ever be purchasing this game. I will never even buy it used. Now let me explain why.

I believe in the freedom to create whatever art you want to create. I, however, am also free to despise that art. And I do. If the story was true to the characters and felt honest, things would be different. But it's not, so here we are.

They destroy the very foundation of the characters that we love. If you think for one second that Joel Miller would trust a group of strangers enough to follow them into a closed space, and let his guard down enough to give his real name then you DO NOT KNOW JOEL. End of story. If you think for one second that Joel wouldn't have pulled out his gun after being shot in the leg, you DO NOT KNOW JOEL. Joel, fundamentally as a character, at his core, would never follow a group of strangers when he's completely outnumbered and knows that he has a bad reputation. Because of this, his entire death scene loses all credibility.

Let me be clear and say that I'm fine with Joel dying. His death could have been a devastating, beautifully done moment. Instead, it's fundamentally untrue to his character and only serves as shock value. Instead of inspiring the player, it leaves you with nothing but bitterness and coldness - toward the game itself. I've watched so many people become distant, cold, bitter, uninterested, and detached, during and after the death. I don't believe Joel would have EVER allowed himself to be in that position, therefore the entire scene feels empty, untrue, and forced. Joel is a survivor.

Now since I have limited characters, I will skip to the end. Throughout the game you/Ellie kill thousands of people. And then suddenly, once you get to Abby, the end goal of the entire storyline... you get... nothing. Suddenly, after killing so many people, this one kill isn't worth it. Suddenly, killing gets you nowhere and shame on us for killing all those people just to kill Abby. Ellie is sad, revenge got her nowhere, it didn't bring Joel back and so on and so on. Abby, the ONE person in the game who successfully got her revenge, disappears into the sunset.

Newsflash, Naughty Dog: WE KNOW KILLING IS BAD. KILLING BAD. WE KNOW.

Guess what: IT'S A VIDEO GAME. You go through these games, generally, defeating enemies. Usually, by killing them. That's why we upgrade weapons, build our arsenals. It's at the core of these types of video games. So for you to use the boss battle to prove a point about "killing bad. Ellie realizes now. Not before, but now." Is laughable. Any player investment that survived Joel's death is killed off for good with an unsatisfying, anticlimactic ending. In the end, it was all for nothing.
