    Story sucked, characters sucked. I actually spent more time finding different ways to kill Abby than actually playing it. I can not give it an extermely low review like a 1-2 since it does get somethings right and it was a bit of fun. But comparing it to the first game it is like Heaven and Earth. Because I loved the story of the first so much I could not bring myself to find too many goodStory sucked, characters sucked.     I bought this digitally from the PlayStation store. Probably get the PS5 with disk so I don't get stuck with a unsellable game with zero replay value again. The Story is poorly done and even if it had been done well would have been nothing you wanted if you liked the first game. There are hours of cut-scenes and half of them I found myself heckling and just wishing they would end. IfI bought this digitally from the PlayStation store. I was looking forward to this game took vacation to play it and they should have done better, twists are fine and all but if you writing is so bad you have to torture the player to pull them off maybe go back to the drawing board. Game play, level design and graphics are topnotch and I've played plenty of games were I didn't care about the story and even though I loved the first games narrative I could have just enjoyed the video game if they did not so force the story on you.… Expand

The most interesting and well rounded character... I really didn’t want to play the game after Joel’s death. It sucked me out of the game quick. Then just the repetitive gameplay afterwards and the tiresome story between Ellie and Dina that I did not care one bit about. And the biggest negative was Abby! Why would anyone want to play 10+ hours as her. I rushed through that part because I did not care for her at all. I hated her and hated playing as her. I felt no sympathy whatsoever. And not being able to kill her at the end made this game even worse. The only positives were that the graphics were phenomenal and the stealth gameplay was fun for awhile but that doesn’t make up for a terrible story in a story based game.… Expand

    entiendo lo que naughtidog queria hacer, lo de la espiral de odio, violencia engendra violencia, etc... pero la forma de explicarlo, yo personalmente, creo que no es la correcta, el nivel de narrativa esta por debajo de la primera entrega, demasiadas lagunas y deuxmachina por combeniencia del guion. pese a eso la jugabilidad es buena e intuitiva. es muy dificil que este juego te cause unaentiendo lo que naughtidog queria hacer, lo de la espiral de odio, violencia engendra violencia, etc... pero la forma de explicarlo, yo personalmente, creo que no es la correcta, el nivel de narrativa esta por debajo de la primera entrega, demasiadas lagunas y deuxmachina por combeniencia del guion. pese a eso la jugabilidad es buena e intuitiva. es muy dificil que este juego te cause una sensacion neutra, lo mas seguro es que acaves en uno de los extremos, o lo odias o te encanta... yo personalmente tengo que decir que no me gusta, pero es unicamente debido a la direccion tomada por el argumento.… Expand

    If this game were from another franchise it would be a solid 9, but this game being a second part of a true videogame masterpiece, it's just a 4. The story and the events doesn't match with the characters we knew and the excellent Gameplay and graphics just don't save a horrible history with characters I couldn't care less.

The gameplay, graphics, assassinations, details, AI, are all magnificent. Even for my 1st gen Ps4, man the game looked gorgeous. Now for the cons... I really wanted to love this game.... It’s a love& hate type of relationship... look I don’t care about the LGBTQ+ characters or woman agenda because that’s not the issue here.. the issue here is THE STORY... and how they executed it... they could’ve set it up to be a trilogy.. but what did ND do? They shot my beloved character’s leg off with a shotgun and beat the living snot out of him with a club... only to play as her for 10+ hours when the story climax was at its peak and bam! I’m playing as Abby on day 1? Do I see myself playing this game again? Maybe... I choked up when I heard Joel’s agonizing pain.. Now that I know how the game ends... it’s utter Bs...… Expand

    Although the game play was fun and engaging, the writing and story are sub par. A lot of emotional manipulation is attempted at the player, but it fails in the end, as characters motivations and decisions seem hollow.

    Im gonna be honest, I only made an account on here just so I can review this game. I'm a simple dude, the story is worth 4 points while the gameplay and graphics are both worth three a piece. The graphics gets a three, the gameplay gets a 1, and the story gets a 0.     This game is an Absolute Disgrace to any REAL fans of the First game. I will admit that the graphics and gameplay are top notch, but in a Story Driven Game it falls flat on its Face. The story is completely unbelievable, involving Several Plot holes that doesn’t make any sense. it doesn’t Do Justice as a Sequel to quite possibly the Greatest Game ever Made.     Never was a big fan of the first game but this one really doesn't do the characters any justice. The gameplay isn't bad but the story is horrible. They should have learned from GOT that subverting expectations isn't always a good thing. Also with the BS copyright strikes to youtube channels like Geeks and Gamers they deserve the criticism

First off this game is absolutely gorgeous and the gameplay is awesome but when it comes down to what the human spirit longs for that this game painfully lacks, is HOPE. I don’t recognize the characters I once loved from the original masterpiece. Being forced to try and kill one of the main characters that I dearly loved after seeing the other one murdered left me feeling depressed. At the end of this game you are left feeling dark and hopeless, stripped of any joy and love left. The human spirit needs hope especially in a time where the world feels dark and uncertain. I say this with respect to the naughty dog team and appreciate my opinion being heard. I hope we get a better game from this amazing team next time around!… Expand

    Immersion, the fourth wall and respect for fans who waited seven years for this game seem to be the least of Naughty Dog's interests with this game; it appears their only interest was in causing shock and controversy by any means possible, while paradoxically moral-high-grounding the player from atop the pedestal built on crunching their developers and false advertising.

    The four points for this review go to those working on the art and gameplay of the game, but they cannot hold together an inherently flawed and patronising experience.    … Expand

    The first game is probably my favourite game of all time and this is coming from a PC gamer. The story of the first brings out the emotions that i thought i never had inside of me. The second came and I stayed away from all the leaks and news so that I can go in with a fresh set of mind and within the first hour of playing, i wish i had just look at the leaks in the first place. There are good things in this game: music is good, sound is better than the first, graphic and environment is breathtaking... But that is what you would expect after 7 years of development, , gameplay is fine, not terrible but not amazing neither, dialogue is poorly written, almost every interactions between characters are corny and cringe, but the core of the problem of this game is the story. There are three major things that ruin the game: Joel's death, Abby and the ending. First of all, I don't mind killing an important character like Joel, but the way that the developers did it was purely for shock value and after playing through the whole game and reach the ending, makes you realized that Joel's death is extremely pointless. Next is the elephant in the room, Abby. No, its not about how she look, is how she was written and introduced. We know nothing about this woman before and when we play as her and after finishing her playthrough we still know nothing about her. She was introduced and 20 minutes later, she killed the most important character of the franchise, and it does not help when straight after she killed the characters you love does you get to know about her justification and why she is doing the thing she is doing. Also her justification is pure cliche and it is clear as daylight that the devs tried so hard to make us like Abby by degrading Ellie. There is so much thing wrong with Abby that you can goes on for days discussing it. Finally is the ending. The devs tries to tell us that killing and revenging is bad, Ellie is a terrible person and Abby deserve to live. Then explain the hundreds of people that they both killed just to get to that point and I just can't understand the thinking process of degrading Ellie like that. She does nothing wrong to deserve any of this Abby and in the end she has to live with her fear. The story is a shotgun blast to the knee and a golf club to the head to any people who is passionate about the first game. This is already a terrible year and somehow Naughty Dogs made it worse by lying to us and mistreating us multiple times just to cover up their own mistakes. I'm disenchanted and I'm sure everyone feel the same way.    … Expand

    Tecnicamente incrível, mas a história e o enredo do jogo são MUITO RUINS. eu me forcei a zerar esse jogo antes de Ghost of Tsushima e foi difícil, muitas vezes cai no ostracismo, a parte de Eliie é MUITO chata, só se salva o hospital, e a forçação pra por a Abby e a perspectiva dela, meu Deus, muito chato. Muita decepção até pelo primeiro jogo ser um dos meus favoritos.

While the game on a technical standpoint is pardon my French **** gorgeous, it’s not enough to cover up its awful story, its terrible pacing, its horrible new characters, its mistreatment of existing characters, and its expanded but not evolved gameplay. The gameplay only had a few new additions most of which are not significant enough to mention like for example the jump mechanic, so underwhelming, Naughty dog only added a suppressor, explosive arrows, and a dodge mechanic, other than that nothing innovative. What really ruins this game is its story and the fact that they kill Joel in the first few hours of the game you are given no chance to really play as him.… Expand

Now I really wished I had just read about those and made a hard pass on this game. Huge fan the first game. The story and the characters just melded together to make something truly special. However, that does not work with this title. The story and the characters in this game are awful and stupid to the point where I would not be surprised if they did get infected at some point between the first and second and their brain started to deteriorate. Okay without spoilers think of near the end of Batman V Superman where Batman doesn’t kill Superman’s because both of their mothers names were Martha and they suddenly became best friends after fighting each other nearly the whole movie. The only reason this game is not a zero is because the graphics, sound and gameplay are really good. If your in it for the story just go watch a let’s play and save the money for something better like Ghost of Tsushima.… Expand

    nice graphics, loved the work they've done with infected. poor game design and storytelling. I had a feeling like I'm playing remake of the first part. Every level was so predictable and similar to part 1. I won't even talk about this games propaganda. Thats a different srory. Guys just keep it away from games, please.

    It was...meh. I got through it, but I had to force myself to get through it. It kind of felt like getting yelled at by my mom when I was a kid. And the pressure to give it a high rating just because it's 'inclusive is' **** You want to play a good game that'll suck you in for hours and make time melt away? Go elsewhere.

This game as a generic revenge plot, that's neither unique nor well made and throws "revenge is bad" at us like we are 3 years old. A lot of games make the same point in smarter ways, for example Assassin's Creed 2.

    The story is uninspired. The characters are uninteresting, one-dimensional and forgettable. Several are introduced as deus-ex machina devices to save the day out of nowhere. The Story feels fragmented and scattered.

    For a story driven game, this is unacceptable. It would be ok for a game based on gameplay above story, but ironically the gameplay was portion of the first game that was barely touched on the second one. There are minor improvements: you can jump (but the jump button is pointless). Enemies have dogs!
    But excluding minor QoL changes, combat, stealth and crafting system are the same. And if they weren't particularly impressive in 2013 when the first game launched, they're pretty outdated in 2020. Which would be fine if the narrative was as good as the first game. But it isn't.    … Expand

    But what about the others? They try so hard to make us feel bad for killing abby, but they failed so hard that have a lot of videos named “Killing Abby”

The story makes little to no sense with characters not acting like themselves and being unlikeable. The story also relies too much on coincidence and is no where near the first.     I really hated the game. More specifically the narrative. Yes, the game is fun, even Abby's story line but I truly didn't care for Abby's story line. Killing a beloved character a couple ours into the game was just awful story telling and for a reason that doesn’t make sense to Joel’s character and then for an ending that doesn’t fit the story. Gameplay reminds me of how Mafia 3 feels where gameplan becomes repetitive and boring. Visuals were amazing but that’s about the only complement I have for it. Wouldn’t recommend.… Expand

Лично я не мог спокойно смотреть на флешбеки с Джоэлом. Я вырос с этим персонажем и считаю его одним из лучших персонажей всех времён. Я знал что Джоэл скорее всего умрёт, но это могли сделать красиво или в конце игры спасая Элли. Однако сценаристы решили что он заслуживает того чтоб перекачанная стероидами баба просто забила его клюшкой и харчок в лицо. А Эбби настолько не интересный и не прописанный персонаж что ты начинаешь за неё переживать только в финале потому что она скинула 15-20 кг. Для тех кто не играл в первую часть будет норм, а те кто играл думаю согласятся со мной.

    TLOU1 é o jogo favorito de MUITA gente que esperou 7 anos pra jogar a continuação, é compreensível que estejam putos. O Joel morre precocemente em uma cena MUITO forçada (que joga no lixo uma das principais características dele, desconfiar de tudo e todos), e depois você é obrigado a jogar METADE do jogo inteiro com a assassina dele que tem 0 carisma e nem sequer apareceu nos trailers, esses mesmos trailers que baitam na cara dura que o Joel teria alguma participação na história, onde acharam que isso daria certo?.

    O jogo foi vendido como se a Ellie fosse a protagonista, todos os gameplays eram com ela e a Naughty Dog nunca mencionou que você jogaria 50% do jogo com outra personagem que nunca foi introduzida antes; e qual é o problema?, bom, a grande maioria das pessoas ignoram spoilers, gameplays e vazamentos antes de comprar o jogo, então muita gente se arrependeu de ter gastado 260 REAIS quando viu que era completamente diferente dos trailers. Propaganda falsa? Nah.

    E eu nem citei o casal Ellie Dina, que parece que existe só pra Ellie ser lésbica. Elas já começam o jogo se gostando e isso faz com que o relacionamento delas seja totalmente whatever, zero química e zero construção de personagem.
    ---"Ah, então você não quer lésbicas em jogos né? homofóbico incel".
    A DLC de The Last "Left Behind" tem a Ellie se revelando lésbica ao beijar a amiga dela, isso fez total sentido dentro da história e teve uma construção bem feita pra acontecer. Eu fiquei surpreso positivamente quando aconteceu e achei que o casal teve muita química, adoraria que desse pra elas continuarem juntas.
    Muita gente pensa o mesmo, veja a reação positiva do Pewdiepie ao beijo do Left Behind e veja como ele ficou totalmente indiferente à todas as cenas com a Dina em TLOU2. Tem a ver com roteiro mal escrito e relacionamentos colocados apenas com o propósito de agradar um grupo ao envés de agregar na história, não com preconceito.

    Eu daria um 8/10 pro roteiro de TLOU2 se fosse apenas uma fanfic, eu diria que é relativamente bem escrito, a ideia de "vingança" é algo que se distancia muito da história do primeiro jogo e se mostra algo muito raso como fator principal da premissa, mas funcionaria em uma fanfic, que quase sempre tem como ideia principal fornecer algo diferente pra quem está lendo sem manter um devido padrão de qualidade e congruência com a história original, afinal, é feito por fãs, e não escritores profissionais. O problema é que TLOU2 não é uma fanfic e tão pouco uma obra independente de outra, é a "Parte 2" de um jogo que definiu uma geração e é considerado umas das maiores obras primas nos videogames, então essas incongruências e problemas de roteiro em relação ao primeiro jogo não podem ser ignorados e a história não deve ser analisada como algo singular.

    Concluindo, mesmo com todos esses defeitos é bem possível que você goste do jogo se você se interessar pela Abby, mas, caso isso não aconteça, você vai jogar metade do jogo sem vontade pra ser recompensado com um final horrível e broxante (O final ser ruim/medíocre é um dos poucos consensos entre quem gostou e quem não gostou do jogo). Repetindo, é um personagem que nem apareceu nos TRAILERS.
    The Last of Us 2 poderia ter entrado na lista de melhores jogos de todos os tempos ao lado de TLOU1 se a intenção dos roteiristas fosse apenas fazer uma ótima continuação que agradasse à todos, mas eles foram arriscados, desde o início sabiam que muita gente iria odiar (o vazamento de um ex-funcionário revoltado e a saída de 70% da equipe de desenvolvimento da Naughty Dog provam isso), eles insistiram no erro porque queriam "quebrar barreiras" e tirar o jogador da tal zona de conforto, afinal, dane-se quem se decepcionar com o jogo, são só preconceituosos ou gente que não se deu ao trabalho de entender o propósito da história, certo?.    … Expand

However the game retcons the first one. Characters make stupid decisions and it feels as if you are forced into situations and places the writer has shoved you in rather then let you pick or understand. Example- in the first game it’s made clear that the surgery to get a vaccine is not 100% guaranteed and that it’s a shot in the dark that we must take to at least try. So you can understand why Joel did what he did. You can agree or disagree with it but you at least understand and get his reasoning and motivation. In the sequel a key turning point is when after you kill Nora and get the location of where Abby is... you decide to get tommy and take Dina back to jackson to give birth in a controlled proper environment. When given the choice of following Jesse to Tommy’s potential location or stealing a boat and going after Abby.... you are forced to go after Abby. After killing Owen and his pregnant gf you leave your map behind with your location circled on it. It’s frustrating because the average player would say “get the map” “don’t circle your exact base” anyways you killed all Abby friends, you found tommy and everyone is ready to go and yet Ellie still is set on going after Abby. To sum this rant up. It’s very very frustrating when well written and developed characters are forced in making stupid decisions and dragging you along with them. Simply put it makes the game un enjoyable and I’d rather just speed run it listening to music because I no longer care about what happens to the characters or what they do. Because bad decisions and selfish choice after selfish choice just gets really really annoying. It’s a 4/10 because this game is the ideal - put this on to show your friends what a PS4 pro can really do and how far games have come. It’s a tech demo.… Expand

The whole story is kinda predictable, the only shocking moment was how lame Joel's dead was, as the main character on the first game I think he should've got a more "heroic" dead, maybe saving Eli or Tommy, it just wasn't enough to end an epic character in that way. Besides, pointless Eli's journey going after Abby, nothing exciting, since the moment you get to play as Abby, you know that she obviously won't die. From the point of view; having Joel kidnapped would've been a more satisfying journey: Joel trying to escape Abby and getting back to Jackson. Meanwhile from Eli's POV trying to reach Joel in time. I think Joel would've gotten a better dead by saving Eli. So that Abby would've escaped and Eli could have gone after her and reducing the whole revenge and pointless exploration and massive areas with almost NO action at all.… Expand

Пока играл заметил много багов, тестеры видимо багов не искали, а просто играли в игру. Стелс далеко вперед не ушел, но щелкуны стали намного умнее! Конечно, бывало что они зажимали меня к стенке, и я ничего не мог сделать. Механика клацанья кнопок ушла назад, теперь чтобы открыть что то, я должен зажимать треугольник, а не тыкать по нему.
    Графон меня очень сильно порадовал! Моя слимка справляется с игрой очень хорошо, и даже сильно не шумела(В фортнайте она у меня и то шумела сильнее). Я наделал очень много классных и красивых скринов!
    Теперь о сюжете. По поводу сюжета у меня язык не поворачивается сказать что то нормальное, это полный провал игры. Я не буду ничего говорить про фем-лгбт повестку, это уже все и так давно знают. Джоэла убили самым глупым способом, при том что Эбби знала только имя Джоэла и то что он живет в Джесконе. Но, самое главное, что Эбби НИКОГДА НЕ ВИДЕЛА ДЖОЭЛА! Концовка это вообще отдельный вид искусства, Элли кромсала всех направо и налево, в конце она может убить Эбби, но она её отпускает! И не нужно говорить что тут есть "сакральный смысл", Элли не знала всей истории от лица Эбби, она должна была прийти и убить её!
    Ну, я сказал все. Моя оценка игре 4/10 2 балла за графон, 1 за механику, 1 за сюжет.

Yes he shouldn't have lied, but to basically throw the entire first game away because of that? Feels like that someone didnt like the fact the joel didnt let her die for the "greater good" and decided that he needs to be punished. Playing as the enemy and making ellie seem like the bad guy was fresh and fun to experience but not enough to make up for the stories short comings. All in all if you liked the first you probably wont like the second but if you are a new player, welcome to a decent game with good mechanics but a mediocre story.… Expand

The way that Abby was introduced into the game was obviously meant to establish her as an antagonist since she killed off Joel so early on before we begin to become attached to her as a character. However, that is not the intended case as we play almost half of the game as Abby. This pivotal decision only served to divide the community as most players reached Abby's portion of the game with a unsavory sensation causing most players to not want to play as Abby.

    When I played as Abby, I felt a sense of emptiness as I wondered, "Why am I being forced to play as a character that I already have a negative feeling towards?" Her personal story with Lev and Yara also felt out-of-place since it was never properly explained to the audience and the other characters of why Abby is so willing to help them. The only explanation we receive is either a short "guilt" or "I don't know" to Yara or Lev. It just doesn't make enough sense to go through all that trouble just because of "guilt". Furthermore, the sex scene with Owen was just extremely unnecessary and should have been cut shorter as it just made viewers extremely uncomfortable and does not help advance the plot.

    Ellie felt incredibly driven for revenge solely Joel and no one else. When she hunted down Abby in Santa Barbara, it didn't feel like it was for crippling Tommy or killing Jessie, but was just for Joel. As a result, all it took was a flashback related to Joel to cause her to give up on killing Abby. This by itself also doesn't feel very authentic or realistic as it would probably take a mutual understanding between Ellie and Abby of why they killed who they killed.

    If a story-based game had only mediocre graphics with decent gameplay, it would score higher than a story-based game with perfect gameplay and amazing visuals but only somewhat average story. This game is not meant to be a stand alone game, it was meant to be a direct sequel to the previous game. This means the story has to relate and be created dependent on the player attachment to those characters in the previous game. Had this game released as a completely stand alone game without any knowledge of who Joel, Ellie, and Tommy are, then the game's story would 100% be much better. The purpose of a sequel is to top the previous work, otherwise there is no point in the sequel.    … Expand

    A visual masterpiece and solid combat mechanics. It's sad to say this as a big fan of the first one, but plot was disappointing. One of the brilliant things a game can do is capture you emotionally. The developers accomplished this, but disappointment is all i I felt by the end. I am not sure what the goal is by destroying or twisting what you loved about the first installment...

    Historia pésima, se han pasado metiendo valores y políticas de las que pasas de ellas jugando a videojuegos y no quieres encontrartelas en ellos.
    Ha nivel técnico el juego se ve bastante bien, la IA me ha parecido muy floja ya que tiene los mismo fallos que el primero y no mesa han solucionado.

    Turn this game into a movie and you'd get a bad if not horrible movie
    But take all the movie out of this game and you'd have a pretty decent game.
    But no one's here for the gameplay so it's a massive disappointment. 4/10

    I disappoint the wobbly ones, very easy to kill, I prefer the chubby that scares me the most.
    And the last thing I did not like, was that they did not include the trophies for difficulty because when I started playing the game, I immediately played it in a difficult way to obtain that trophy and the others with less difficulty and in the end I was surprised with Know that in the second installment they did not include those types of trophies.

Je fouille, gunfight, cutscene et ça pendant 35h. Alors oui les graphismes sont au dessus de la moyenne sur PS4, oui les ambiances sont bonnes et parfois incroyable mais franchement où était le plaisir... se retaper les 3 jours était une purge,,, je ne parle même pas de la ferme... franchement c’était... chiant, je n’ai pas d’autre mot. Si aujourd’hui nous devons accepter des scénarios aussi longuet sous prétexte de leur ouverture d’esprit je préfère refuser de jouer. Une mention spéciale pour le chapitre avec Joel où Elie mets les écouteurs lors du décollage de la fusée, j’ai lâché ma larme, un grand moment de jeu vidéo. Malheureusement le seul.     I heard a joke about people having trouble getting the "good" ending in tloup2. The joke was the "bad" ending rhey kept getting...is the only one.

The new characters are fine but the writing is poor and the characters are wasted.

    Sadly eveything else is awesome from sound to graphics to gameplay. Amazing stuff. But the story and focus and pace and the feeling you have when it's all over ....is unpleasant. The game makes you feel ill. Sad...And angry but at the devs...not the clever writing.

    Buy it on sale and decide for yourself. 6/10 maybe 7 but not at full price and not when the devs keep behaving like spoilt children.    … Expand

    I'd start by saying from a technical standpoint the game is phenomenal and the gameplay is excellent, however TLoU is a game for its narrative and story charm and this one disappoints.

    The story do away with the main character and start going in so many narrative branches to the point where it becomes a mess and in the end it accomplishes nothing.

    If the first game displayed charm and hopefulness this one is all about depression, sadness and gloom.    … Expand

    Amazing gameplay with a ridiculous story and plot twists. Just one bad decision comes after another bad decision. This game tries to deliver its simple message so hard and uses such cheap ways to do it, that all the game suffers from it. It's not the worst game but definitely my biggest disappointment of the decade, and of my whole life maybe...

    Gameplay is quite average, it's kinda like walking simulator with some fights (stealth was kinda fun especially in Seattle day 2 which was the game's strongest point). So if the gameplay is not that amazing and fun that means the game is more about the story. Well the story was a nice idea but jumbled up and badly executed and dragged out which hurt the pacing a lot. It's cool that they have big characters as a gay couple that way Ellie had something to care for. But every character had some sort of a political view which was annoying. Basically rating it on the overall enjoyment i can't say i enjoyed it but there are moments that made the score a tad bit higher (flashbacks and such. And the Joel line where he says he'd do it all over again if he had the chance). I played part one for the first time just a few months before part 2 came out so I'm not angry because i didn't wait 7 years. If i were to rate the game on the first 10 hours i would've rated it a 6 but like 1-2h into Abby's part it became incredibly boring. I knew already that I'd find Owen and Mel dead and just to get to that point it took quite a bit of time. Abby's journey to find her friends dead is irrelevant only the outcome is important her part should've been like 3 hours long at most.    … Expand

    Gameplay fun with slight improvements to the mechanics from the first game. Graphics are incredible. Story was incredibly disappointing to say the least. Characters often acted completely out of character and manipulative story telling techniques were used

    The plot armor Ellie, Dina, and Abby get takes all the tension out of the game. Also whenever they get into a stressful situation their responses everytime are “oh **** oh **** mixed with some heavy breathing. The story is garbage. It is also manipulative. This game does nothing but spit on Joel, Tommy, and Ellie. While on the flip side it promotes Abby and Lev. This game isn’t a game about Ellie and Joel. This game is a game about Abby and Lev. The motivations and reasoning for Abby to kill Joel, is narratively weak. An NPC with 15 seconds of screen time in TLOU1 is the whole reason for Abby’s existence. Weak. Also everything Ellie does is bad. Ellie has to kill a dog, her horse dies, she kills a pregnant lady, her fingers are but off so she can’t play Joel’s song anymore. Where as Abby her horse lives, she never has to kill a dog, she spares the pregnant lady, and during her fight with the big Scar in Haven she puts her hands in the dudes mouth and guess what? She DOESNT get her fingers bitten off. Ellie and Joel and Tommy have everything bad happen to them and Abby loses nothing in this game. In fact Abby’s story is nothing but a beat for beat rip off of TLOU1 from the story moments to the gameplay moments. This game also has characters acting out of character. Also it totally undercuts everything that was set up in TLOU1. Ellie wanting to die in the firefly hospital is not true. Ellie wanted to help with a cure but didn’t want to die. In fact she wanted to leave with Joe afterwards and go to Jackson. She was also afraid that the tests were going to hurt her. Also Joel and Tommy act nothing like they did in TLOU1. Survivors for over 25 years and now all of a sudden they lose their instincts. This game was never about Ellie and Joel. Even the main menus are related to Abby. The developers pushed an agenda. They dismantled the father-daughter bond from the first game to push a lesbian relationship that had no back story to it other than one kiss the night before Joel died, Ellie and Dina conversations sound like nothing but shallow snarky remarks all the time and nothing real except for forced “I love you” every now and then. They also turned Ellie and Joel’s bond from the first game and note for note gave that story to Abby and Lev. So now Abby is the “Joel” cause she’s the jacked strong one and the Asian Transgendered Lev is the “Ellie”

    This game is manipulative, narratively weak, and agenda pushing. The only good thing is the graphics. The gameplay is also the EXACT SAME AS TLOU1. In my opinion had the develops chosen to just go a different direction, make a game about Abby and Lev while not involving Joel and Ellie at all would have been a better choice. Like True Detective on HBO TLOU could tel stand alone stories. Instead Naughty Dog and Druckmann used the Fans love of Ellie and Joel to sell and game that had little to do with them and did nothing but tear them down. They falsely marketed the game and cries foul when the leaks exposing the game were released. The leaks were the best thing to happen because it exposed all the lies Naughty Dog told. There is nothing wrong with taking a game in a different direction then what fans want, but then don’t lie to them and expect someone to pay $60 or more for a game that is different then what you said you were selling.

    In the end this game is nothing but a leftist agenda made to appease a vocal minority rather than the majority that actually buys games. This game was used to push an agenda and then discredit people’s opinions that say they don’t like the game to call them bigots. (Which is something they ACTUALLY DO IN THE ACTUAL GAME)

    Notice how there are no more talk of how well TLOU2 sold? It’s because it’s not selling. Stuff like this needs to not happen in video games. Overrated game and overall weak. 4/10    … Expand

    Agency is constantly taken away from you and the story dishes out some unbelievably frustrating sequences that are ridiculous. Bad enough as a frustrating cutscene but even worse as a sequence where you have to press the buttons, but those button presses are totally pointless as that outcome will still be the same regardless.

    There was a moment where I actually believed it was going to let me craft the outcome decide what the resolution should be, I was genuinely excited I stopped pressing Square thinking maybe that way I could give up and let the world serve me justice, even at the expense of not seeing all the game. But no no don’t be silly you have to play there 30 hours movie, they know best.
    It’s not for you to expect to make some choice that has a consequence, to choose your own path.

    Ellie is the real monster more so than any character across both games. It goes on for far too long with no extra benefit. It has no final message other than the world lets bad people off if they are precious to the writer as the player should have no choice its not like its a game after all.

    It could have been so so different it could have been put together where you could make choices and feel like you had an impactful personal journey.

    ND next time just make a movie and save be about £38 points and 28 hours of my life.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILER ALERT: I feel terrible expressing myself how I'm about to do about a franchise that has such a space in my heart. The last of us 2 is great when it comes to the 1-2 hours of the game, because you're excited of what is happening and it's been so long since the first game so it just really makes you feel like you're a part of something massive (like you live in that world). The gameplay itself throughout the whole game I think is superb and without going into much detail the main thing about it is that I still felt the authenticity that the first game had, which a lot of sequels can really lose. Sure it didn't as many puzzles etc, but the core of the gameplay felt really similar to the first one with added features/moves, bigger open world. And then the story... It genuinely made me feel like the writer or whoever did this to us, wanted to literally spit in our faces. I know that they told us to keep an open mind and I know we're not professional critics, however the consumer's opinion should matter the most in these cases I believe. With that being said, Joel's death, Abby's parts, really disappointing moments of the game. I can't count how many friends told me that when they were playing with Abby, they'd intentionally get munched on a clicker or jump of a cliff to kill her off with the hope of her not coming back. The false sense of hope that Joel survived in some magical way throughout the whole game and the wishful thinking that we get to get revenge and kill Abby. It just keeps you going through the game hoping for these things and then at the end you feel like you've wasted approx 20 hours of your life (I did it in hard mode so idk if that's a good amount or not), because it feels like it was all for nothing. And I get the reason behind it, the fact that you need to forgive and that Abby had a solid reason to seek revenge herself and that Ellie's a better person and realized that this is not the way. I just don't give a damn about all of that. If this was the first game and we didn't get to live as the characters and make them make us feel like we're apart of the apocalypse that they're in, I would've probably loved this game. But it's just really strange to me that this Abby was just thrown in and we were made to accept her (which didn't happen no matter how much I wrapped my head around why and what.) Overall, for the experience and for these long 7 years, the game does deserve the attention and to at least finish it, we're all in the same ride now and it's just how it is. The teams that made this game are incredibly talented and they had to put in tremendously hard work to make it a great game, it was sadly overwhelmed by the plot itself and I'm sorry, but there's no way you'll make me believe that there is sense to it. I do really hope they make a 3rd game prior to acknowledging that the writing side of things did not turn out to be a success and then they can somehow try and bring back the amazing plot feel that the first game had.… Expand

All i found myself doing for long periods is skimming around the sides of room spamming triangle to pick up either pills, scissors or some tape. it gets tedious & repetitive so quickly and the narrative/story doesn't really add anything except shock deaths.. which also gets boring because they do it over and over again and doesn't help the story is any meaningful way. The story really is poor & riddled with cheap conveniences that drive the story forward, i cant believe i'm writing this about a N.D game but there are lot of failures here and that is reflected in the user score. They've tried to be risky and deliver something that hasn't seen before (which is great) but instead of staying true to the games origins and characters and be innovative, its ultimately executed in the most pretentious way and falls down hard. They said this game wasn't fun and i totally agree, its utterly miserable, hollow and soulless.… Expand

    I am such a fan of the first game and i love joel and ellie as characters. Part 2 destroys what made the first game so special. It feels like a spit in the face to fans of the first game and the characters. Awful story with an unsatisfying ending. Im done with this franchise and im done with naughtydog games.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
