    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An awesome game with several emotional punches to the gut. A story that shows how evil is a matter of perspective. The loss of a beloved character from "part one" caused a backlash from some of the more toxic fanbase that either quit the game at that point or failed to register the reason behind the test of the game. The areas in the game are vast and beautifully executed, with nooks and crannies that would be perfect for multiplayer. The only issue I had with the game was the required killing of man's best friends, but that also added to the realism of the game and was well thought out.… Expand

    Amazing challenging story, great gameplay and stunning visuals. Perfectly paced, loved all the moments where you play through back story to fully understand the characters motivations.

    I am consciously giving the game 10/10 instead of 8.5-9/10 it deserves as I think. That’s because I am totally sure that the game is underestimated too often. Ppl, bother to make your own opinions please!

Dont believe the review bombing, gaming is sad, the worst fear of ellie said in tlou1 (being alone) happens, if you smart enough it was obvious the only initial plot to start epic part 2 is joels death and protagonism of ellie, not gonna enter in more details, no happy endings in real world, joel qas a prick bt saving ellie, but he done the right to save her as family… Expand

    This game is amazing! For people that just read the leaks or just the plot, you will never understand the reflexion inside this story. The end is excellent amd the atmosphere is very immersive. The graphics of the game is the best part of this success with the soundtrack. Violemt,inntellect, I will wait for a 3 parts !!

    Fantastic game! Easily in the top 5 ps4 games. The gameplay and environments are all incredible. The story is fantastic as well. The Last of Us and Part 2 is the only game I've played multiple times to rewatch cutscenes and discover more of the story with each playthrough. The into of the The Last of Us 1 warns you that this is not a typical video game. This is a very rare game that notFantastic game! Easily in the top 5 ps4 games. The gameplay and environments are all incredible. The story is fantastic as well. The Last of Us and Part 2 is the only game I've played multiple times to rewatch cutscenes and discover more of the story with each playthrough. The into of the The Last of Us 1 warns you that this is not a typical video game. This is a very rare game that not only has great gameplay, but is an emotional experience that is certainly relevant in modern society. I couldnt have asked for anything more.     One of the greatest games I ever played.i really liked that travel. Naughty Dog presented a masterpiece here. The story, the sound the characters absolutely great. A real must play!

However, in my opinion, it is masterfuly done, as it also places the player in the antagonist's shoes. The world is not black and white and everyone is driven by personal reasons. Но причёска в конце ей вообще не идёт. Озвучка порадовала. - Джоэл 9/10 (раскрытость" проявляется в конце новой части, а всё остальное из первой и так понятно) - Эбби 8/10 мне понравилось как они преподнесли Эбби как персонажа и личность. Озвучка очень хорошая и внешность не расстроила. - Лев 7/10 мало разговорчивый по своей натуре и ему это очень подходит. Так и не понял они специально не раскрыли его по больше из за его личности или это косяк? Надеюсь будет какое то DLC с Левом или что то в этом духе. Костюм подходит хорошо. Озвучка тоже. Но по началу ему не шла озвучка. Но потом привык. - Дина 6/10 Мало раскрыли Дину. Потому что для персонажа с такой ролью можно было намного больше. Одежда ей тоже подходит, озвучка хорошая и также ей подходит. - Томми 5/10 Персонаж более менее раскрыт в первой части как по мне. А во второй не очень. Хотелось бы узнать про не го по больше.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There was a quote in the original that Ellie asked "do you think they had friends or family?" And Joel said "it's best not to think about that." This game makes you think about it whether you like it or not - I liked that part. The feeling of you feel like crap, I liked that.

    I hated Dina and Ellie's relationship, which makes up a majority of the game, to where when Ellie leaves her at the theater I was relieved because it felt forced to promote SJW stuff when it could have been handled like Drake and Elena's relationship where it was funny and smart and sweet and great despite their circumstances, but they didn't want that and wanted to go straight for the "if you don't like this relationship than you're a homophobe" type of writing (which is called lazy writing). I actually liked Abby more than Ellie, oh my word. I haven't finished it ven after hearing the leaks and listening to the backlash and all of that. Alot of the hate is out of context because of the leaks and rumors (Abby is trans, homophobic Christian cult), but some of the hate is legitimate (character motivation, and the lost of the character).

    The ending completely through me off from what could have been a good game, my final score is 5/10 because of the atrocious ending that ruined it. Ultimately, the graphics were great, music and sound 2was fantastic, but the story had pacing issues and an absolutely terrible ending.    … Expand

Part 1 in my opinion was the best game ever. The problem I have with this game is the lame story and Joel's early death. I would've loved for Joel to have a bigger role in this game. The second issue I had was playing as Abby. Why do I need to learn about Abby's past? I really don't care and a good cut scene would have been sufficient. I feel like Abby game play dragged on way too long. The last issue I have with this game was the crappy ending. All this time given to this game just to end with Abby living? Wow, I am very disappointed so much that I had to write a review.… Expand

I personally really enjoyed some parts of the game like beating up Abby, combat, graphics, characters. But the story line was somewhat mediocre. Especially 10 hours of Abby gameplay was really stressful and painful for me. On the other hand I missed Joel so much the entire game. It was painful to see how he was tortured and killed. But I would definitely recommend this game to everyone just to let them see what this game has to offer.… Expand

    I think I can divide this game into 3 parts, with the 3rd part being the worst and also very short in comparison, more like an epilogue. If the game ended like I thought it would at the end of that 2nd part, the ending would have been a little bit better (worthy of a 7/10) and    6/10 is a fair score imo. I don't think I can recommend it at full price though, maybe wait for a sale instead.

    Overall I really enjoyed the game despite it's flaws.

    - Story is kind of mediocre for me. We have seen this type of story in many movies and executed better and also much worse. Despite a weaker story, I still wanted some answers throughout the game (and I was satisfied with them) and I wanted to know what happens next. The characters can sometimes be **** stupid and make stupid decisions (some of them selfish) just to keep the game going. I also liked all the flashbacks that happen throughout the game. They didn't feel like filler to me.

    - The graphics are very good even on the normal ps4, the acting is great and so is the level design. There are also a few bigger areas this time. I saw a few (not many) graphical glitches here and there, but perhaps there are less of them on ps4 pro.

    - The gameplay has also been improved and was easily the best part of the game for me. It is very similar to the first game, except you can now also jump, prone and even hide in tall grass and under vehicles and some objects. I THINK they even added a dodge button (or was it in the 1st game as well? I can't remember), which makes the combat better. You can also craft a silencer for your gun. You no longer have to waste shivs to open locked doors. The AI is a bit on the dumber side even on Survivor difficulty and can sometimes be easily exploited, but I've seen worse in some other games. (For example: In the 3rd part of the game I managed to take out probably at least 15 humans (most of them with melee attacks) while hiding in one small hallway with 3 covers, 1 way in from the front and 1 from the back. One brave fool or usually exactly 2 enemies always stopped on each side of the door that leads into the hallway for a few seconds before only one of them came inside to try and fail to kill me while the other one walked away from the door before finally coming in and let me do it instead of coming in in pairs or groups. Also, none of them apparently knew the layout of their own house because they could have easily surprised me behind if they bothered to walk through the room on the right of the hallway that I couldn't see, but they had access to only if they jumped over a very small concrete fence first that was right next to that door.)

    - I didn't see many bugs, other than usually 1 infected being stuck in a small area and keeping aggro after losing sight of me two or three times in different encounters and a human enemy becoming invisible in the 3rd part of the game when I tried to aim at him from position that the game didn't like.
    - Looting feels a lot more rewarding this time, even on the hardest difficulty. If you try to explore everything, you will find a lot of pills, scrap and crafting components and how much ammo you will take into each encounter once again depends completely on your play-style. And you will definitely need that ammo.

    - I loved the encounters in this game. Some were really brutal, 1 or maybe 2 were a bit scary with some horror game vibes, but most of them were fun, 3 or 4 however were frustrating and they forced me to actually play well to get through them. Luckily the autosaves are very frequent during all encounters and they even helped me win a few difficult fights despite the result being a draw. Unfortunately though, for me many encounters felt like filler just to extend the game length, but because I really enjoyed the gameplay, I didn't really care.    … Expand

What will be from now on to us loyal players is your going to eventually come out with a new IP and then you're going to make a sequel years later and we will be expecting something bad from here on out and it is what it is. What you need to understand is the real gamers who actually enjoyed the game and aren't just review bombing, the people that put that last of us game in their hearts and was hoping that a second one would be just as good or better, we're the ones who are hurt but you obviously don't see that and you obviously don't care because you got your money it broke record sales and that is all you care about … Expand

Therefore my opinion has been formed purely by the experience of playing this game and the first. That fact that I am focusing on the story and the gameplay choices made by the creators, instead of lauding the action and incredible environments, tells you everything you need to know about this game. The game made me feel a lot of pressure to like them...but i just didnt. The short time you spend with the characters in part 1 were so impressionable, but the characters in 2 just didnt have this power behind the writing and the time you spent with them.

I can see why some people may get upset because of certain events that happen (no spoilers here) but I truly believe that once that happened they immediately stopped playing the game and said 'F' this. I feel bad for those kind of gamer's because they can't see how different in story this game is telling. This one dwells on revenge and the feelings that accompany with it such as pain and suffering. It has it's heart moments but it's nowhere near where the first game was in it's story and I'm okay with that because I don't want another copy and paste game. If I had to break it down and sum it up, Part II is a masterpiece in it's game play, sound design, acting, motion capture, and all that jazz. But the story for me (which I loved in the end) isn't better than the first game WHICH IS OKAY. I loved Abby's character and sure I was heartbroken with what she did but she grew on me and I want to see more of her and her new sidekick in another game. If Neil and Naughty Dog decide to make a Part III, I would want the trilogy to come to it's conclusion by finding a cure and have Ellie do what she thought she was meant to do meaning, the first game d'welled with purpose, this with revenge, finale with redemption.

    Please buy this game and give an open minded opinion on this. If you still dislike the game, that's okay. But finish the game and give the story and it's characters a chance before making your final thoughts.    … Expand

    Masterpiece! Rainbow of emotions driven by revenge, love, and instinct of survival with adrenaline filled action. Great looking PS4 game in par with Red Dead Redemption 2.

    Finish Part I before playing Part II to appreciate this masterpiece and buckle up for an emotional rollercoaster of your love!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. excelente juego, sin duda uno de los juegos mas esperados de este 2020, en tema de grafica, y elementos como son el soundtrack del juego son los que los completan y hacen que sea un juego tanto instrumental como en tema de graficas hace que se pueda llamar un juego de calidad y esfuerzo, ahora la historia, la historia se puede decir que tubo bajas y altas o lo amas o lo odias, sin duda al principio odie la historia pero al juntar las piezas porque este juego sin duda es un rompecabezas que lo tienes que armar para entenderlo, junte esas piezas y sin duda entendi el juego, es un buen juego y se que merece esta puntuacion, es una historia impactante que llega en el corazon, que completa las consecuencias del primero, recuerde el juego se llama el ultimo de nosotros porque es cierto si no se encuentra una cura en el mundo de de the last of us, solo quedara una persona, los personajes tienen virtudes y defectos porque se ven reflejados en los comportamientos de los personajes, es este el dolor que se refleja, ya no puede ser un mundo "normal" por la pandemia, sobrevives matando, y los protagonistas no son eternos y menos en este mundo.… Expand

    This game does move the progress needle forward a bit too much for people to handle, so the hate towards the game is to be expected. Look at what happened to MLK when he started moving that needle too much.

I would say the game is perhaps a bit longer than it needs to be.

    There is a great low-guitar score, top quality voice acting, and the environments are gorgeous. Post-apocalyptic Seattle is rendered with beautiful weather and very realistic details. Having been to the city, I was surprised how familiar they made it.

    This game is not going to be an easygoing experience with cartoon-happy endings. It depicts a dark, ugly, violent post-apocalypse in a very human way.

This would be quite like return of the Jedi if darth vader got killed by a random Jedi’s niece instead of us seeing the Luke /Vader climax ( Joel/Ellie’s turbulent relationship after she learns the truth being the equivocal plot point we missed out on).

    In trying to subvert expectations it creates a boring and soulless plot and it’s a real shame because the first remains amongst the most grim but inspiring stories of all time. Rest in peace!    … Expand

    I am not a fan of survival horror. I am more drawn to stories and thats why I gave TLOU part 1 a try and it was great (9/10).

    I went in without watching any spoilers and I couldn’t wait to play as Joel and Ellie again but then that thing happened and I was pissed. I just wanted to get to Abby and kill her.

    But by the end in the final scene I didn’t feel like killing her anymore.

    There were so many ups and downs, so many emotions that I felt while playing this game that I cannot recall another game or other media that can deliver this kind of experience.

    I can understand why there are so many negative reviews but you have to take them as fans that were really sad from losing a beloved character.

    Don’t look at reviews and scores and give this game a try. There will be times when you want to put down your controller and turn off the PS4 but thats what makes this game phenomenal. Its a journey. Feel it.    … Expand

This game is about ending the cycle of violence and seeing that hurting and taking away other peoples lives and happiness won't help you or bring back the people you've lost, but stopping before you become a true monster will bring back the light you've lost, whether that be through saving others and becoming their family, or realising that you're hurting your family and you need to help yourself and then help them so you can really find peace and happiness together. I also thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay, the stealth aspect of the gameplay is phenomenal, so much fun to do, and there are so many ways through scenarios, whether that be avoiding all together or sneaking or just going full ham. I ended up adoring every single character by the end of it, and really empathised with each one and their individual struggles. Made me laugh, made me sob crying, made me angry, made me feel peace. What an amazing game to do that and put me through all these emotions, especially with hating certain characters, and coming to understand and then love them. This is what games should be about, not trying to do what they know fans will like that would be repetitive, but something truly unique, giving us a new story and a push forward. No matter what the detractors say because they love Joel and Ellie so much, everyone has to admit that the storyline was good because it made you feel some kind of way when situations happened to the characters and THAT is what makes the game good! At first I was rooting for Ellie and Joel and when it cane time to play as Abby I literally was thinking to myself “well screw her! I’m just gonna play her and do the minimum!”. I couldn’t stand her at first, but then I started seeing all that she had gone through in the game, why she did the things she did and started realizing, hey she does have a heart and NO she didn’t kill Joel for no apparent reason whatsoever! The only scientist/doctor (that anyone was aware of) that could potentially create a vaccine and save humanity is dead because of Joel! I don’t think people really let that sink in because they want to marry Joel and Ellie so bad. The characters Joel and Ellie were good people in their own way, but Abby was good in her own way as well. It just takes seeing things from another person’s shoes rather than your own selfish viewpoint just because Joel was killed. There wouldn’t be a story if everyone lived. There wouldn’t be dialogue between people about the game either. What would there be? Bigger monsters and tiptoeing through the tulips? Come on people! Abby was after the cause of her pain and sorrow. She didn’t want anybody dead but him, she could have killed Ellie as well, but she didn’t because Ellie wasn’t the source of her distress. It was Joel. No one can tell me they would have done things differently if they were in her shoes! Most people would’ve prolly killed Ellie too, but Abby showed her humanity and it’s wild to me how people didn’t see it! The last fight was brutal and over the top and it showed me that Ellie was kind of crazed during the fight. Abby only fought Ellie to save this teenage boys life. She didn’t even want to do it! Ellie didn’t give two licks. Her humanity was nearly gone. She didn’t care what was going on around her, she only saw one thing and that was to see Abby dead. In the end people really need to play the game in its entirety, PROCESS what happened (if they can’t while playing) and then write a review. Don’t write a review based on love for characters in the last game. Don’t write a review when you haven’t completed the game or based off leaks. I’m only saying this because I know someone who has an opinion opposite mine that hasn’t played the game and thank goodness they didn’t write a review just because of things they seen in leaks and reviews from people who haven’t played.… Expand

This sequel have more information, character designs also very in depth, it required more attention while ‘playing’ to find out. Give 10/10, merely because this experience is too unique to me.

Good mechanics, game-play, music and graphics which is why it got a one. But oh the story. No choices, railroaded into a path regardless of player desire. I understand wanting to show and teach with games but this wasn't that. This was not a lesson in anything other than hopelessness and getting trapped in a path and not being able to change from it. The so called lesson? That violence and revenge cost you everything in the end. True. No one has to play video games to know that. That humans suck? Yeah, I think we all know that at this point. I do not play games to experience the ugliness of life. Games for me are a place to explore and escape. Not to be beaten with the ugliness that already is. What is the point of playing a game that is no different that what is on the TV or out my front door? 2020 is hard enough as it is. Shame on you Naughty Dogs.… Expand

That a lot of rightist incel, snowflakes hate the game, makes it even better. And when people say that games shouldn't be political, that makes me laugh. The best games ever made are political. Ellie is basically a serial killer, but cant kill Abbie (another psycho). So why Abby didn't kill her either? This game is just messed up...… Expand

El juego tiene partes de acción bastante buenas, gráficos espectaculares, gran jugabilidad, pero la historia no sirve, también se olvidaron que es un juego post-apocalíptico con infectados, pasas mayor parte del juego luchando contra humanos que contra infectados, además de que perdió la esencia del miedo que causaba, por momentos demasiado largos no había zombies y cuando los había eran demasiados, cuando en TLOU había pocos al menos por cada sala y podías evitarlos pero en la segunda parte te los aventaban a todos de golpe, gran fallo en eso. Aún así me parece muy épico, muchas horas de juego, vas a hacer corajes con la historia pero es un juego que sigue valiendo la pena, sin embargo no le llega ni a los talones al primer TLOU… Expand

    The Last of Us part ll é um jogo incrível com uma história muito bem moldada mas bem pesada emocionalmente (para quem jogou o primeiro é mais pesada ainda) e tem um gameplay muito realista e cheio de detalhes Incríveis, vale a pena !

It really does so much right and at such a high quality that it breaks my heart some people won’t play this because of half-true out of context second hand blurs they heard through the grapevine.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
