    The game is absolutely gorgeous, easily the best looking and most polished game on the market for the ps4. The gameplay has been massively improved from the first title and adds a sort of smoothness to combat that was never apparent in the first game. However her story is plain and isn't anything much more but an ordinary revenge journey. She is conflicted almost by anything during the adventure whether it's her closed ones telling her to abandon the revenge or a few minor flashbacks that make her quit.

    Abby, who is immediately being antagonized by the game in the first hour, is trying to be redeemed with her own story. Players then should have an idea on how she feels. Her story is more diverse than Ellie's but the characters involved with Abby are not likeable and doesn't make the players invest more interest in them. You simply cannot make players to love the bad guy! Even if you give her an entire story on how she saves other people it still cannot be justified with how she brutally kills someone who players love the most from the first game.

    The best part of the game for me was the relationship of Ellie and Joel. We get to see many emotional moments and even the following confrontation about Joel's decision from the last game. These flashbacks look like some form of a grief present for a death that was written quite badly. I still believe that Joel should have died in a proper way than simply being bashed by a golf club. Perhaps it's just the game's main intention as not everything is your cliche superhero game, many characters just simply die.

    Ending is unfortunately disappointing. It feels prolonged rather than completed. Ellie didn't achieve anything but loss and Abby is the only character who would benefit from this fiasco. All things aside this is definitely not a bad game, it just cannot live up to the hype or the quality of the first game.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILER ALERT: I feel terrible expressing myself how I'm about to do about a franchise that has such a space in my heart. The last of us 2 is great when it comes to the 1-2 hours of the game, because you're excited of what is happening and it's been so long since the first game so it just really makes you feel like you're a part of something massive (like you live in that world). The gameplay itself throughout the whole game I think is superb and without going into much detail the main thing about it is that I still felt the authenticity that the first game had, which a lot of sequels can really lose. Sure it didn't as many puzzles etc, but the core of the gameplay felt really similar to the first one with added features/moves, bigger open world. And then the story... It genuinely made me feel like the writer or whoever did this to us, wanted to literally spit in our faces. I know that they told us to keep an open mind and I know we're not professional critics, however the consumer's opinion should matter the most in these cases I believe. With that being said, Joel's death, Abby's parts, really disappointing moments of the game. I can't count how many friends told me that when they were playing with Abby, they'd intentionally get munched on a clicker or jump of a cliff to kill her off with the hope of her not coming back. The false sense of hope that Joel survived in some magical way throughout the whole game and the wishful thinking that we get to get revenge and kill Abby. It just keeps you going through the game hoping for these things and then at the end you feel like you've wasted approx 20 hours of your life (I did it in hard mode so idk if that's a good amount or not), because it feels like it was all for nothing. And I get the reason behind it, the fact that you need to forgive and that Abby had a solid reason to seek revenge herself and that Ellie's a better person and realized that this is not the way. I just don't give a damn about all of that. If this was the first game and we didn't get to live as the characters and make them make us feel like we're apart of the apocalypse that they're in, I would've probably loved this game. But it's just really strange to me that this Abby was just thrown in and we were made to accept her (which didn't happen no matter how much I wrapped my head around why and what.) Overall, for the experience and for these long 7 years, the game does deserve the attention and to at least finish it, we're all in the same ride now and it's just how it is. The teams that made this game are incredibly talented and they had to put in tremendously hard work to make it a great game, it was sadly overwhelmed by the plot itself and I'm sorry, but there's no way you'll make me believe that there is sense to it. I do really hope they make a 3rd game prior to acknowledging that the writing side of things did not turn out to be a success and then they can somehow try and bring back the amazing plot feel that the first game had.… Expand

All i found myself doing for long periods is skimming around the sides of room spamming triangle to pick up either pills, scissors or some tape. it gets tedious & repetitive so quickly and the narrative/story doesn't really add anything except shock deaths.. which also gets boring because they do it over and over again and doesn't help the story is any meaningful way. The story really is poor & riddled with cheap conveniences that drive the story forward, i cant believe i'm writing this about a N.D game but there are lot of failures here and that is reflected in the user score. They've tried to be risky and deliver something that hasn't seen before (which is great) but instead of staying true to the games origins and characters and be innovative, its ultimately executed in the most pretentious way and falls down hard. They said this game wasn't fun and i totally agree, its utterly miserable, hollow and soulless.… Expand

    Геймплей сильно затянут(играть попросту не интересно, с первой части ничего не почти не изменилось). Сюжет банально туп и прост ,легко угадывается. В техническом плане игра хороша (видно что над ней старались но пришёл дракман и все испортил). P.S мне плевать на повестку.    Разработчики обосрались с этой игрой.

On thinking back on the story in the weeks after slowly savoring it, it's too easy to praise the idea of the story while forgetting how it unfolded. It is easy to remember the warmth and allure of wintertime Jackson, Dina and Ellie's friendship, the moving sorrow of the flashbacks, Ellie's grief and trauma, and the poignant look into the destructive nature of revenge. I have thought on that moral lesson, that revenge prevents loved ones from growing old together and sharing experiences over many years of life.

    However, thinking back on the experience of the story weeks after playing it brings one danger: my imagination will make those good qualities I listed in the last paragraph seem better, more fleshed out, or more subtle than they actually were while playing through. So, while my idea of the story (or my memory of it) will dwell in the simple life of wintertime Jackson, remember Ellie's friendships, the sorrow of the flashbacks, and Ellie's grief and trauma, those aspects were in reality glossed over. In retrospect, my memory might praise the moral lesson on revenge by making it seem as if it were more subtle than it actually was, but the message was not subtle: it required half the length of the game, and that half tearing our attention away from the engrossing emotional life of Ellie, who is perhaps the most beloved character of the PS3/4 era.

    Therefore, I gave a 7 for the fact that the game teases the player with the allure of wintertime Jackson and the promise of being with Ellie through the stages of her grief and trauma, but instead, rushes past these aspects. We had no glimpse whatsoever into the progression of Ellie's grief during her and Dina's cross country journey to Washington. Such a journey, which is the allure of the TLOU world, was happily skipped; not one moment of that journey was shown, which disoriented me. For a game about the cycle of revenge, glossing over the early stages of grief, which could've at least had one dedicated section in say Idaho in the cross country trip, was a huge missed beat. How can I align myself with Ellie when she had a 3-4 month time skip to process her grief, whereas I had but a few minutes? Being enslaved to their narrow theme of the degrading nature of revenge, the game puts the player in a cannon, so to speak, while we are still enjoying our winter patrol and rushes to shoot us past everything between that section and Ellie's confrontation with Abby in Seattle.

    By putting Ellie's burning desire for revenge front and center for most of the game, we don't get to explore other aspects of her inner, emotional life, which would give more weight to her destructive revenge. Because we don't get to dwell in a segment showing her simple life in Jackson (going to the sledding resort or lake with her friends for example), we don't fully appreciate what she gives up in her revenge mission. Because we don't see enough glimpses of Ellie's emotional turmoil between Joel's death and Seattle, we aren't made to appreciate the fire behind her revenge. Those are left to the imagination. And when TLOU2 teases us with the greatness of their visual and emotional fidelity in their characters, I can't help but feel disappointed that those moments are left to my imagination rather than fleshed out with cutscenes and playable sections. Leaving what I think are crucial elements to Ellie's development to the imagination is worthy of a 7 no matter how good the journal entries are. Relegating Jackson life and the cross country to journal entries was a big slap in the face.

    Lastly, Abby's section would've worked as a shorter segment not only to spare time for Ellie's emotional development early on, but also to enhance the moral lesson of the story by being more subtle. Any work that is didactic to whatever degree cannot hide its didactic nature from the audience. Making the player play 10 hours as Abby, introducing and focusing on five of her friends throughout, not only weakens the moral lesson by being overt, but takes away from the intimacy that made TLOU1 great. That sense of intimacy, which makes the world seem bigger, scarier, and relationships cozier, is watered down when there are too many characters added. Not to mention that most of that 10 hours is spent trudging through some of the most dense shoot-em-up sections in game, which add no depth to her story at all.

    TLOU2 teased at aspects of Ellie's inner life that should've been explored, but never did. Relegating important aspects of Ellie's emotional world to journal entries (for Jackson life and the cross country journey) is disappointing. The time spent trying to flesh out Abby's five friends could've been used to delve more into Ellie's emotional development. Here's a quote from the Pali Canon to sum up my views on spreading the story thin across too many characters in a game founded on intimacy:

Pero cuando compramos este juego no solo lo hacemos por estos temas, sino que lo más importante es la historia, QUE ES INCREÍBLE. Es un viaje de un montón de sentimientos encontrados y de situaciones fuertes y desgarradoras, que seguroThe last of us II es increíble. Tanto en el tema gráfico, como en la jugabilidad creo que es el mejor a día de hoy en el mercado (solo se le acerca RDR2). Pero cuando compramos este juego no solo lo hacemos por estos temas, sino que lo más importante es la historia, QUE ES INCREÍBLE. Es un viaje de un montón de sentimientos encontrados y de situaciones fuertes y desgarradoras, que seguro que ta dejaran tocado por unas semanas. Sin duda es uno de mis juegos favoritos, por el decir EL FAVORITO.

    The first half is very depressing and not really enjoyable. The second half really picks up the pace and is truly one of the best gaming experience you can have, in terms of gameplay and storytelling. Would have rated it a perfect 10 if not for the slow and depressing first half.

    I am 100% sure all the guys tha gave negative score at this masterpiece are just immature people.Life is not always beautiful and it doesn't always has a happy ending.Maybe when your life comes to the end...maybe then you will realise that, poor,kids in brain...

    Masterpiece! Do not listen frustrated people. They can't handle a really good but sad story. It is not reality it's a game. And it's amazing. Gameplay is also good (not the better but good) and graphics just wow.

    Un Clásico! con una historia que no te dejará indiferente, con un gameplay de lujo, gráficas increibles y sonido de la misma calidad. Un juego que propone (y seguro lo logra) cambiar la manera de contar las historias y los tipos de historias que contarán los videojuegos de ahora en más.

    Физика персонажей... ребята я не знаю как вы это сделали но вы задрали планку в игровой индустрии. Ранее мне казалось что в rdr2 физика на высоте, но тут... Постановка боевки с кинематографичными кадрами - это что-то!

    Эмоции. Комбинация страха и интереса... Я бы сказал что игра "страшно-интересная") ))

    Сценарий! О боже! Не хочу сполейрить, пусть будет несколько поверхностная позиция касательно его - он шедевральный!

    Мое мнение, что The Last Of Us 2 - это ЮВЕЛИРНАЯ работа длиною в 7 лет над сценарием, графикой, физикой. То что удалось сделать Naughty Dog - редкость в наше время.

    Ребята огромное вам СПАСИБО за этот шедевр!

    С феминизмом, лесбиянством, гендреными темами в игре как по мне переборщили) У меня на эту тему свои взгляды, но только по этому судить игру не правильно считаю и занижать оценку. Я ставлю 10 из 10. В третей части таким щедрым скорее всего не буду, не люблю когда что-то прям сильно навязывают, как продавцы, которые стучаться к вам в двери что-бы что-то продать.

    Does the world need another TLOU2 review? Probably not, but did the world need a sequel to what is still one of the best games of all time? It would appear that it did not either.
    To give the game a zero, as so many have, is really not giving credit where credit is due. There are things to like about it; the gameplay to cutscenes are very smooth, the dodge button is a good addition, the graphics and motion capture are spectacular, and the voice acting is fantastic.
    Even the worst characters are very well voice acted.
    The lighting is cold and somewhat menacing, the stealth mechanics are all there from the first one and the infected are even more terrifying than before.
    So with all of this good, what makes this a game many people (including this reviewer) deeply regret spending their money on?
    The game takes about 20-25 hours to play through. Around a vast majority of those are unbearable. Some games require grinding or tedious activities for a reward at the end. This was just a disappointment from start to finish. The wasted potential of the team who made this game is just heart breaking.
    It seemed someone forgot that games are supposed to be fun, not some kind of hate simulator, where the player and the characters involved are the target.
    The story was absolutely hackneyed, even to the point where the most “shocking” scene was basically ripped right off a well-known zombie tv series / comic book. You could almost feel the conceit of the writers coming out of the screen, which if frankly something that I have personally never felt from a game before.
    I did not enjoy this game, it was ugly, hateful and violent, and no where near as clever as it thought it was. This really felt like it was written by an angry teenager who despised the first game so passionately, that he wanted to tear it down and spit on its remains. The first game was about something beautiful in a cruel and bleak world. A story like that is difficult to get right but TLOU part One achieved it with flying colours. The sequel seems to have all of the artistic value of a 90s slasher or exploitation film but some kind of disaster-artist-like smugness.
    Without giving anything away, someone kills someone who kills someone and then someone else goes after them. In the end there was apparently a message about breaking the cycle. The families of the five hundred anonymous henchmen who were murdered for the sake of this realisation may disagree. And that’s it, it sounds simple because it was. I understood Mulholland drive the first time I watched it, so I doubt I missed anything that was too nuanced.
    So, can I respect the effort and skill that went into making this game? Absolutely.
    Would I recommend it, or play it again? No, I truly would not. As with all things, games are subjective. Maybe buy it on sale if you fancy yourself a nihilist or want to wear a beret and tell people they didn’t get it because it was too profound, otherwise your time could be better spent.    … Expand

    The Last of Us: Part II is the perfect game to end the PS4's legacy on, fitting considering that's what Part I was to the PS3. A delightful combination of incredibly detailed graphics, crisp and clean gameplay and a moving story that rivals some of the very best of the medium makes TLOU2 nothing short of a MASTERPIECE.

    I love this game's amazing and fun graphics and gameplay. Maybe the story was a little jumbled around but it still conveyed a great message and I thought the ending was good. This is definitely a masterpiece for me and is a must-play.

They have left behind the hope and wonder of Ellie’s plague immunity, and exchanged it for a drawn out, unnecessarily gruesome, and morally bankrupt slugfest. The need to showcase the various sexual appetites of the main characters and the complete disregard for contemporary religious beliefs shows their need to be seen as “woke hipsters.”

    In a nutshell, gamers play games to have fun and to enjoy a great story. The developers of the sequel have chosen to lose the story elements that were compelling and instead are focusing on a disjointed story of the main characters descent into murderous psychosis. Дочь мстит за отца и это по сути правильно, и опять же но. В первой части отец Эбби чернокожий. Нет я не расист просто эта не состыковка абсурдна. Мы должны были получить ну минимум Эббигейл смуглянку. Дальше. Я все понимаю смерть отца, убийца жив и все такое. Но смерть Джоэла была явно черезчур преукрашена. С такой жестокостью забить гг 1 части клюшкой, предварительно прострелив ему ногу дробовиком, это кажется слегка перебором если можно так выразиться. Потом нам говорят что мы будем сострадать Эбби, но нам выкатывают не девочку обиженку а, бабенцию на стероидах. Теперь же ещё и чувствуется ручища Аниты Саркисян которая "Очень хорошо" знает как делать сильных и не зависимых женщин. Сюжет по сути то не плохой, здесь все портит лишь взаимодействие между героями, да и абсурдность некоторых действий тоже не делает игре + в копилку. Беременная баба с ружьём на перевес в дозоре. Напоминает чем то второй wolfenstine. Хотя там это смотрелось как то полегче. Элли похоже допрашивать совсем не умеет. Она валит всех пачками и толком ни от кого инфы точной не получает. Потом, у нас тут пост апок как бы и надо поддерживать популяцию человечества, нет нам дают уродину Дину, которая беременна от Джесси, но любит Элли. Ало где тут логика а концовка это вообще Трэш. The music was phenomenal and I liked how we were able to play a guitar in game. However the game lacks in story and good characters, which made the first Last of Us a masterpiece, in my opinion. But ever since the introduction of Abby and her friends, it felt strange, but Joel's death is what really ruined my experience. This game had so much potential to being the greatest game ever, but Naughty Dog just had to kill off my favorite character in all of Naughty Dog. The Graphics is obviously great, soundtrack is beautifully done well, gameplay is phenomenal, and upgrading weapons has never felt so much satisfying, but what really killed this game is the story.… Expand

    A fantastic sequel that's more of an extension of the first than a sequel. The mechanics of the first one are greatly improved and never have I been so glad to have a knife. The story is gut wrenching and deeply invests you in the characters and story that builds upon the first in meaningful ways that enhance it

Great gameplay and visuals, totally raped the quality in storytelling and characters of its predecessor in the course of being p.c. I have not played it, but for the thousands of videos that I have seen in detail, the gameplay is somewhat similar to the original, the weapons are good if you use them well, I really liked this and I think that in other games they do not have and it is that when updating the weapon an animation begins to insert that update everything in detail is BEAUTIFUL.

    Bueno, El creador dice que los juegos no son para divertirse, bueno, si tienes las posibilidades de crear un juego y haces esto, supongo que está bien, aún cuando la misma consola impulsa la diversión y el entretenimiento no se que pensar

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
