They planned something completly different and ended up with this somehow, probably because they lost 70% of their employees and some idiot wanted to push his own ideas.

joel wasnt meant to die that early, there was clearly a journey planned for both him and ellie, but they removed it, also abby wasnt supposed to look like that at all, if you watch the old trailers, she didnt have that kind of steroidblasted body, which doesnt even make sense for that kind of world by the way.

ND took a huge risk with abby and completly failed, she is not likeable at all and they **** try so hard to make you like her.
The game thinks the best time to tell Abbies backstory is when the game hits its climax, like what the ****

Im just so pissed that this game could have become great, but because of some idiotic influence it became the biggest upset ever.

I just finished the game, the graphics were amazing and the gameplay was good but the story was bad. These agendas were forced and the game was more of a shock value, the ending did not pay off.

I put 4 points for this game, I can’t put a higher one. The gameplay, visualization, musical accompaniment and more at the level, as well as facial animations.
But the plot greatly disappointed. The beginning of the story was addictive and full of emotions, and then it was completely boredom, although the end turned out pretty good for me.

Worst part is that You are forced to play through hours of gameplay as a character you are not interested in at all just to get to play as Ellie. You get through all that just to be dissapointed with the ending that makes no sense. TLoU part 2 looks amazing, the music and animations are amazing, the combat is improved a lot but the most important part of the game is the story and unfortunately story is the weakest part of the game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is not THAT BAD! But also, not THAT GOOD!

You have to look at the context of me giving this game a 4/10 ! probably this game is a GOTY nominee, as a stand alone game it's pretty amazing. But this is not a stand alone game, this is the sequel of one of the greatest games ever created, and in that context it's a dissapointment. Killing off a major leading character sometimes payoff with a dramatic effect that make us sad and will make us cry, and thats good, even if the death is gruesome and violent. This is not one of those times! i felt nothing when Joel died! and this is WRONG! it was poorly handled and it took me out of the game for the next few hours playing it. When the game finally picked up for me is when I - as Elly- was hunting down the group that involved in killing Joel - mainly Abby- and I was LOVING it! Until, the game forced me to play as Abby in literally the full second half of the game! i believe I played as Abby the same amount of Elly. Except that i didn't care one pit about her! and here where the writing really fall off for me. Making the player spend hours and hours playing as the protagonist killer is not going to pull us to her side, insted it pushes us away further! I really understood where the creative team of Naughty Dog are going for here and why they made their decisions the way they were, and I still find it not a compelling way to tell the story they wanted to tell. In the end of the game, I left with one feeling I really don't think Naughty Dog were looking for, and that feeling was "Whatever!"

I played The Last of US (Part One) too many times, and I enjoyed it every single playthrough. Because I knew that the outcome of the game is something special, and I'm playing for a purpose I'm invested in. The last of Us Part II in the other hand, not so much! I don't see myself replaying it ever again because it is an average "meh" game. I really couldn't care less about Abby's adventure, and the outcome of the story is flat that make the experience not worth the second playthrough.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I can only give this game a 4 because I only enjoyed 4/10 of this game. I loved playing as Ellie. It was fun exploring her life in Jackson and her relationship with Joel. Also her post life with Dina was amazing until it was not. I understand why they ended Joel, but the character should have not been Abby.

Abby- Unlikeable. A Man? Her backstory was worthless and made me care even less for her.

I don't give a flying **** about Abby. I still don't know if she is a man or a Woman. I think she is actually a woman (Jury is still out). She can only bench 105 pounds and she either took it in ass with no lube after a long day of fighting or she does have a Vag. Abby was so ****ing distracting that she ruined the game.

The Shamalama Ding Dong twist with Lev actually being a girl was... unnecessary and more distracting. They tricked everyone into calling Lev a "him" if you have a Vagina you are a female. If you have a Penis you are a male. Lev or real name Lilly is a girl. It is science.

The gameplay was fun I beat it on survivor and was challenged. Aiming was ****ing awful sometimes with direct hits that missed the target.

The ending was dumb. She let Abby live to set up TLOU3. Abby probably ran off the Catalina Island to rejoin the fireflies. This is now a cash grab for Naughty Dog. There will more than likely be a TLOU3. It was the equivalent to Mario killing all the Goombas and getting to Bowser and not beating him or letting him go and saying **** Peach.

My fan theory... they could have brought in Ellies Mom or Dad find out what caused the infection. They might do that with TLOU3, but I am over this **** show of a game.

If Abby was different it could have been redeemable. I just did not give a **** about her or her crew. I wanted them all dead. I Still want Abby dead.

Cons: Oh boy, where to start: 1. Story- i get what ND is trying to say with this plot, revenge doesn't lead anywhere, but they sort of made a game that is entirely subjective-you either like it or you hate it. I hated it.
Next level violence, feeling of misery and regret of buying the game. The new characters are unlikeable, bland or just boring, repetitive gameplay and dumb UI. Giant plotholes, unoriginality, disrespect towards the OG tlou. I don't know why ND didn't make a game that we would all enjoy but instead chose to have this mess with plot like a reddit SJW fanfiction. Don't buy. Seriously.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a massive fan of the 1st game and someone who has already beaten this one. I feel the need to tell you not to buy this one. I was only spoiled the fact that Abby kills Joel so I was coming at most of the game with an open mind. So for the first 90% of the game which includes the Jackson, Seattle, and flashback portions of the game I was actually really enjoying it. I thought the combat encounters were great and the UI in the game was definitely improved from the first one. I even started to believe it might be one of my favorite games of all time. However, all that changed when I saw the ending. The fact that you let Abby off the hook and then go home to find Dina and JJ gone (which most of us probably saw coming) made me feel cheated. Then to go upstairs and get an awful cutscene with Joel where Ellie almost (keyword almost) forgives him for the events that took place at the end of the 1st game. I understand what naughty dog was going for with the scene but I just think they could’ve done it better. And it’s the rat king boss fight and the entire length of the game in total that makes me question whether I want to play it again or not. It took me roughly 20 hours to beat this game keep in mind that I wasn’t even trying to get all the collectibles, but it only takes the average gamer around 13 hours to get most if not all collectibles & upgrades in the first game while also completing the story (depending on difficulty and gaming experience). Usually I have no problem with a long game but when the ending just throws away the first 2 acts of a game it makes it feel totally pointless. And it irritates me that I waited 7 years for a big cliffhanger (if that’s what you would call it) for the next game (if they even make one) which will at minimum come out in probably another 7 years. So in summary don’t buy this game unless you want to be heartbroken that you won’t be able to see the rest of Ellie’s story for a long time. (Also if you don’t like kissing scenes don’t buy it, because there’s a lot of them). Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Take it as you will - I wasn't a huge fan of the first game but I at least respected the story and liked the characters. I am a huge fan of the Uncharted series, which is the only reason I picked up this game or the last one. I'm a man of few words, but here goes.

If the cycle of revenge is so bad, why does Abby get to brutally murder Joel without remorse, and get to continue about her life as if nothing happened? Why doesn't Ellie get the same satisfaction? Abby even took away Ellie's ability to play the guitar, taking away what was arguably the only everlasting gift Joel gave her, and yet neither Ellie nor the player is given any agency whatsoever in deciding Abby's fate. Naughty Dog should be ashamed of themselves. You have wronged every player and I hope you realise Neil Druckmann is a pathetic excuse for a director. I will not be playing another one of your games.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I tried to like this game.
Even through the leaks, I still held hope that maybe the context from the rest of the game would smooth things over but they didn’t. Ellie feels like a shell of a character I loved. Any other character has some bipolar disorder since they change from being violent aggressive **** to your run of the mill average joe who cracks good jokes and wouldn’t hurt a fly. The story being told from Ellie’s perspective to Abbys gave so much whiplash I ended up feeling very indifferent at the end. I honestly don’t know what the whole point of this game was.
Characters make obvious stupid decisions or are completely out of character just when we start to learn about them. And some are barely in the story at all that I feel nothing when they get killed off.
Major sections of playtime feel empty since the character dialogue is either uninteresting or not there at all. Well except for the parts with Abby, who feels like she’s treated more as the lead protagonist than Ellie who’s on the cover of the game.
I will say the gameplay has improved, if only slightly. The AI seems better and the level design more detailed and bigger. However it still falls flat when I can just run into a one door room and wait for enemies to line up for me to kill them. The dodge button still doesn’t feel right after 30hrs playing. At least the gunplay feels better. That’s about as much positives I can give this game besides the usual “It’s pretty and look how animated and lively Ellie moves”. Even though the characters are terrible I can at least say that the actors gave it their all. Especially with Lev and Yaras actors who surprised me the most.
I waited 5 years after playing The last of us part 1 to completion to see what Ellie and Joel would do next. I admittedly was one of those people who said they preferred the first game to be a standalone game but I would lie to you if said I hadn’t screamed tears of joy learn there would be a sequel. 3 years of waiting learning all I could going to YouTube and twitter to listen to theories and speculations on what would happen. All that for it to be leaked and for me to see what the game truly is. For me to still buy it and feel even worse playing it.
I never thought I would feel so empty playing a game before, ironically I hated the game in its entirety more than when I saw the leaks.
What ever Naughty Dog does next I don’t care. They wasted my time for 3 years and 30+hrs for me to feel empty in the end, not angry(at least anymore), not sad(never cried once) not even at least satisfied. To whomever is reading this thank you for listening to my ramblings and please understand I tried to give this game a chance but if this is what you are looking for as your final decision to buy the game, I suggest skipping this one and saving your money for something else by watching it on YouTube. And if you still think I’m one of the review bombers and still are going to buy the game at least wait until the game is on sale beforehand.
P.S. Falsely advertising this being Joel and Ellie’s story is disrespectful to your fan base and advertising that Joel is in the game longer than he actually is by swapping characters and models is cheap and disgusting way for people to buy your product

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Firstly, there are a few good points within the game, as to why I didn't rate it below a 4. Here is a list with some details.

    -Game mechanics.

Since the last game was released, the mechanics of the game have improved drastically. I find it much more easier to aim, craft or even throw a brick/bottle. The jumping and climbing manoeuvres were quite simplistic also. The only thing I can add to that (which is a negative, but because its only small I will include it in the positives) is that the dodging mechanic (L1) is strangely difficult. I found myself continuously receiving damage even though I was dodging perfectly to an upcoming attack. Something that should have been used as the circle button mechanic and not the running button.

    -Animation

Not only have the facial animation during cutscenes and the gameplay animation improved since the last game, but also the way the environment moves around you. I felt fully indulged within the environment, almost like I was there throughout the entire gameplay. The lighting really brought the dark, dim and bright moments to life.

Those were my only good points. The past seven years they have spent on making this game was wholesomely based on those points, and not the story. Here are my bad points.

-Not because Joel died, but HOW he was brutally murdered.

As Joel was the main character in the first game, I felt saddened by the way they killed him. The way Manny spat on his beaten up corpse really pissed me off. I can understand if Abby herself killed Joel in her own way, without other people forcing him to struggle free of their grasp, but I just found it....well, dirty. She couldn't even come up with a well made plan on how to commit the act. It was just pure luck that she ran into him.

-Making Ellie look like the villain

Ellie throughout the entire game is of course, on a rough road heading straight for revenge. Willing to do anything, and kill just about anyone that gets in her way. But throughout this path, she makes some decisions that make us question who she really is as a person. We can all say the worst thing she did was murder Mel, who was pregnant at the time. None of us could see that she was pregnant, even Ellie was shocked at the murder that she committed. She isn't a BAD person. She made some quick moment decisions which were taken out of her hands, and if the tables were turned, we would all do the exact same thing. (Nice try, Naughty Dog)

-Trying to make us feel Sympathy for Abby

During the play-through of Abby, different events occur which try to make us think that she isn't the bad person we all think she may be. She may in fact be a caring person, but that doesn't mean she can't be a horrible one either. It makes us look at past events from her point of view, especially when her father died, and we can all obviously see why she did what she did to Joel. But that doesn't take away the fact that she killed him. Joel, who was the protagonist of the first game, the character we all came to love, murdered. Because of the acts he had to commit, in order to save his loved ones life. I quite frankly didn't care that Abby's father died and I will never come to like her character for what she did.

-Back and fourth revenge/the story ending.

This story was nothing more than a 'look, this is what revenge does to you. Revenge is bad, DON'T DO IT' and I feel like the past 7 years should have been concentrating more on the story-line and not the mechanics of the game. We didn't need a story on revenge, we've seen it. we've played it. And i'm sure at one point in all our lives, we have had some kind of revenge too. We didn't need a video gaming explaining what specific actions can do to the human mind. Which brings me to the ending. Ellie at the start of Seattle (Just after the events of Seattle day three) spent all that time on tracking Abby. Killing absolutely anything (I'm sorry Alice) and anyone just to make it possible. After being horrifically beaten to a pulp by Abby, she moves from Jackson with Dina and her son. Spending months on end just dwelling on Joel's death. Even having PTSD moments. So at the end, when she had Abby in her grasp, she sets her free. For what reason? Did she forgive her for what she had done? Was this whole game for nothing? Me, as the player, who desperately wanted nothing more than revenge for Joel, couldn't even get that. From start, to finish, the endgame was pointless. It was a means to an end. Where does this take the third installment for the game (that's even if they bother now) with such a pointless cliffhanger?

My 3 star rating is for the game mechanics. The last star is merely for the story-line. What a disappointment. I expected better for 7 years of hard work.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a very big fan of the story of the first game, i have to say that not only i feel insulted, but also disappointed. Story is a very cliché revenge story, where you are forced to kill people you don’t care about and them forced to feel bad about, even when again, these characters are so disposable, that you cant feel any emotion when they die. Gameplay is the same from the first game, with a few new puzzles, plus the old ones that were already stale. After 7 years, the AI is just as dumb, they still do the same kind of patrolling, and you can still strangle someone while they scream next to another npc that doesnt notice. The soundtrack and the graphics are amazing, and those are what gives this review the positive points. Santaolalla’s soundtrack is outstanding. The game relies too much on the story, so much that some sections are just walk from point a to point b, watch a cutscene, get the same encounter where you can sneak against some enemies, and repeat. For a character that doesnt forget a guy that insults her and giver her free food in the apocalypse, it doesn't lake sense that she would forgive the person who killed her father figure. Abby’s sections feel forced and you never get to feel sad for her. You already saw her father’s death as a consequence for a tough decision, and again, every time you play as her, you just want the section to end. The flashbacks are the best and i would prefer to just play those instead of the rest of the story. Expand

The graphis are amazing and possibly the best this generation of PS4. The gameplay is serviceable, but not much of an upgrade from a 7 year old game.

The real problem is the story. After setting this I.P. so perfectly as a story of loss, redemption, survival, and hope, they decide to follow the tired revenge-furled hate fest. It becomes shallow, with only a few decent past cut-scenes to redeem a little bit. The choice to try and humanize Abbie and her party was unnecessary. We all understand that any other humans in this world have their own lives and are just trying to survive.being forced to play as the opposing side is also a poor choice. It becomes 10hrs of useless distraction that could have been spent on building up Joel and Ellie a little and making his death feel like it had more value. The end also becomes a joke and completely unsatisfying. Imagine chasing down any antagonist for a while game, killing all their allies, then deciding, nevermind.

The game feels like a sad mix of Wking Dead for shock factor, Star Wars for ruining established characters, and GoT season 8 for failing to satisfy at the end.

This is easily the biggest disappointment in gaming in recent history.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all please let me point out i personally regard The Last of Us as the greatest single player game ever made.

I was 24 when i first played it and i never expected a video game to have such an emotional impact. Sarah's death in the prologue, Tess's sacrifice in Boston, Sam and Henry's deaths, the game had me hooked with hard hitting story moments. At the core of the first game we have the relationship that develops between Ellie and Joel, this is key to everything that is good about the game, the experiences they go through shape that relationship and develop the characters.

Marketing trailers for the second game strongly suggest we will see that relationship explored further and tested. The closing scene of the first game we see Ellie question Joel about the events at Salt Lake City and its suggested she thinks he is lying.

Ultimately Joel is killed at the hands of a new playable Character (Abby) whom we have no attachment with what so ever just 90 minutes into the game. Now i have no problem with main characters dieing, in a post apocalyptic back-drop one could say it should be expected but the way Joel's death played out left me feeling nothing, it felt ham fisted and forced through for shock value and to set the wheel in motion for what would follow, a story of vengeance.

Why was it ham fisted and force you say?

Joel and Tommy have both survived post out break for at this point 24/25+ years and yet we are supposed to believe they go like willing cattle to the slaughterhouse. Rule number one in any post apocalyptic world, do not trust strangers, particularly groups, better the enemy you know, in this case the infected.

Naughty Dog did not want this game to be another Joel and Ellie adventure, so they got desperate in forcing an unbelievable situation in which Joel died and Ellie had the path laid before her to go and seek revenge.

So Ellie & Dina set out for Seattle to find the people that murdered Joe and kill them, i feel that at this point the relationship develop between Ellie and Dina essentially stops. Ellie fights through countless enemies slaying them as she goes into what becomes a quest to find and murder Abby along with hopefully some answers.

The cinema showdown, acts as a Cliffhanger. Jesse dies but given how little development he got it feels inconsequential to the story. I hate Cliffhangers and this one feels all the more worse as you are forced to play 6-8 hours as Abby, who is essentially a female terminator.

I get what Naughty Dog are trying to do, there is always another side and perspective to every story but i choose my side 7 years go with the emotional attachment i formed with Ellie and Joel despite their flaws and no matter how many hours you force me play as Abby do gooder it will not change the outcome i desire for her and that is a brutal death at the hands of Ellie.

If the Abby/Yara/Lev section of the game had been a standalone separate story from the Joel and Ellie story, i would have enjoyed it alot more given more character development.

Cinema Cliffhanger, Abby in full search and destroy mode after finding pretty much everyone else involved in Joel's murder is now dead. I like the way Nora died tbh that was a minor highlight.

Jesse dead, Tommy shot and down, we are forced to hunt Ellie as Abby, this almost made me throw up the game did not revert back to Ellie being the playable character at this point. Thankfully Lev shut downs the Terminator before she can execute Dina/Ellie/Tommy, given her little develop and her friends deaths, it would of been in her character to kill all 3.

Farmhouse act 1, at this point i thought the game was going to end, it would of been weak (Abby essentially letting her go once more) but with Ellie sat on the tractor overlooking the horizon, with JJ in her arms the credits could have rolled with a reasonably happy but unfulfilling ending.

Ultimately Ellie is still haunted by Joel's murder, Tommy turns up alive thankfully but semi crippled to set the next step of the game in motion. Abby is in Santa Barbara. Following a short play as Abby both Abby & Lev are captured by another group known as the Rattlers and taken prisoner/slave.

Ellie leaves Dina/JJ to go hunt Abby down, despite Dina's warning she will not wait for her to return. At this point i was just glad to be back playing Ellie, after so much time being forced to play as Abby.

Ellie slays countless to get to a somewhat reduced Abby who has been left to die, after saving her life, forces her into a fight she does not want for once. Beats her only to let her live.

The ending shows Ellie's sense of loss, Joel dead, Dina and JJ gone, she cant even play Guitar anymore after loosing two fingers. A brief flashback shows Ellie wanted to forgive Joel for his lie, the game should have ended on this scene, which is by far the most emotionally powerful moment in the entire game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's heartbreaking to give this game such a low score considering how much I adored the first one however it's unfortunately what it deserves. The graphics are stunning as expected for a 2020 game, I found myself in awe walking around the different sets, the acting for the most part is phenomenal, the gameplay is great (most of it was recycled from the original game so really nothing new other than the fact that Ellie is faster and less bulky than Joel was making room for some interesting mechanics), the music was breathtaking, the story and character writing however was not. Naughty Dog completely ruined this games potential when they wrote such unlikable characters, I found myself being bored during most dialogue and just switched off to admire the graphics. To give such a beloved character an awful excuse of a 'send off' for no reason other than to fuel a revenge story is insulting to fans of the original game and by the 6th hour into the game it doesn't even feel like you're out for revenge it just feels like Ellie's on a rampage and Joel's death is just the best excuse they could come up with and to then be forced into playing as the character that killed him & expecting us to care for her is just rubbing salt on the wound. ND's handling of trailers was absolutely disgusting I avoided spoilers like my life depended on it and bought the game thinking I was going to get an Ellie focused story (a character who I loved) to build upon her character with Joel as one of the possible side characters (I wouldn't have even been mad if they killed him off at some point respectfully), instead she's been written as an uncharismatic teenager that nobody likes, her personality has completely changed and I guess you could read into it and say it's just a part of growing up in an apocalyptic universe however this is never explained. Joel goes from a careful, smart survivor to someone who willingly tells a group of armed strangers his name regardless of the reputation he built in the events of the first game. Scenes are ridiculously violent for the sake of being violent to a point where I personally had so much anxiety I had to stop playing for a while. If there's one good thing about the story & characters I suppose you could stretch and say it's ok at diversity, there's a handful of lgbtq+ characters & different ethnicities however it's not GREAT representation, scenes feel forced and one of the characters even plays into a harmful stereotype for bi people so take it or leave it. Overall The Last of Us 2 just feels like Naughty Dog ruined a perfect story with incredibly enjoyable characters just for the sake of making a sequel and getting more money, as a long time fan I will definitely not be buying anymore products from them. The score of 4 is based purely on graphics and gameplay but it's definitely not worth your money.
It's upsetting to see reviewers blindly hating this game JUST because it features lgbt people at the center of it. However it's equally as frustrating to see people blindly supporting it, at the end of the day the story is just simply an injustice to the original game that so many people love and that's all it really boils down to.

I wanted to see how Ellie had changed in the time since we last saw her and the first few hours give me that and I wish the game had stayed with her but instead the rug is pulled out from under us and we are forced to play as an antagonist that we as Ellie are supposed to be hunting down for what she did to Joel. the last of us is about joel and ellie their are the last of us without them it just can't be and since joel is dying there is already 1 person gone I thought ok we are now just going to play as ellie for the rest of the game but no you must play as abby that really ruins the whole game why do you play if her plays nothing on anyone cares about her the story is not right you don't feel a click with the characters it seems like some scenes are missing because then ellie sees someone get hung up and cut open and then in the next scene she's flirting with dina come on a little bit apart part 2 should just have been about ellie's uniqueness that was much better than this it's totally ruined and seriously ellie sacrificed so much to abby and then let them go so stupid
there were a few points that I liked about the game
    1.graffics
    2. the relationship of ellie and dina
    3. the pieces that you will be playing the guitar
    4. characters that sing
    5. gameplay
just say the story is just not true at all they ruined it by killing joel and it is not running at all gronologically this game could have been much better than this, wondering if part 3 will come and if so what about it because ellie has nothing and nobody more and i think if you dont have play the first game that you would like this because you dont have the conection whit joel and ellie

You may not care now but previous fans will think twice next time you create a game. The biggest problem I have is, besides Joel being killed almost immediately a long with just about everyone else, and fighting Ellie or playing most of the game as Abby, is the political environment you created. Why is a video game getting political?? Bad move. Most gamers are not interested in being force fed "gender equality" or being forced to watch two females have a relationship in a game. I'm guessing you received funding from some company that wanted that agenda pushed. Really bad move. I play games for the story and entertainment, not politics. I get enough of that from the awful media. What an amazing first game you created but this one has ruined the whole story, and I know you say you expected this and are ok with this, but are you really? Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Yes, I played the whole game. Yes, I gave it a chance. No, I’m not here because of character preferences or identifications. With that out of the way...

As a long time fan of the original, I never thought I’d be so dissatisfied with this game to the point where I feel like it wasn’t worth the money. The story never met the standard that the last game set. Gameplay elements were improved upon, and the game looked great, but the story that I bought this to experience was nowhere to be found. It had a redundant and trope filled story that lacked the originality that I expected. I went in with an open mind despite everyone telling me it was a waste, only for them to be proven right. The people in charge of this story should’ve never touched The Last of Us. I would honestly rather have had no sequel than this blatant disrespect of the original characters. This doesn’t even deserve to be called a sequel. I was literally forced to play as a character that I felt a rich hatred for, and the people she encounters, for what? You could have showed her reasons for going after Joel and ended it there, and pick up with the version of Ellie that you left until the end of the game. Instead, you shove characters that I care nothing for down my throat for at least 10 hours, and throughout the game, most of the characters lack any real development. You even try to pull that “maybe we’re the real monsters?” crap. I see what you tried to do, what you think you succeeded in, but it just resulted in mass disappointment. Don’t look at low reviews and assume it’s just haters, many of us are real fans that hate that we have to review the game like this. We genuinely care, unlike whoever wrote the plot line. The hate for this game is well deserved. I wish it could be fixed but the game was already released.

It is a terrific game with a very subpar story. It would benefit us all to be more honest and not be tribalistic for a game that was (and is to some) fun to play.

GRAPHICS: 8/10 Terrific for a console exclusive, but ND have been breaking ground in this area for years now and have the Play Station rendering system down to a T at this point. Would love to see it run on a PC but I doubt that is possible.
VOICE ACTING: 6/10 Bland at times but that may be just because of the writing, but amazing execution otherwise.
OTHER AUDIO: 7/10 Amazing but not groundbreaking in 2020.
GAMEPLAY: 2/10 Outdated w/ many ~2013 style QTE sequences and simplistic inventory system that did not innovate much from the previous installment. Only 2 or so new enemies throughout the whole game w/ 1 being very similar to the bloaters from the first game that are coincidentally also easier to kill but harder to dodge. In short, combat and exploration have barely changed.

STORY: 1/10 Subpar at best. Rather than feeling like you are playing as the characters this time around, it feels more like you are just along for the ride and there is high disconnect with the characters that you play as this time around. The choices seem wild, illogical, uncanny and otherwise difficult to grasp. You will be walking towards objectives in the game at times but you may question yourself the entire time and wonder "but why?". Unlike the first game, the goals and motivations for each character is confusing and somewhat disconnected with reality.

Docking 2 points from the average as I expect much better value from a story based game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. How do you take one of the most revolutionary, emotionally complex, deeply affecting video game concepts of all time and turn it into 30 hours of revenge porn? What brain dead moron green lit this script? It is just awful. The only high points are the fleeting moments you get to spend with Ellie and Joel. Their character chemistry is still top notch, but there’s sadly precious little of it. The rest of the game is filled with uninteresting, one dimensional characters whose motivations and relationships with each other make absolutely no sense. Oh, and one of the most forced, awkward sex scenes I’ve ever witnessed. The game mechanics, graphics, sound design, voice acting, etc., are all excellent. But Naughty Dog already set the bar for all of that in the first one. All they had to do here was meet it again (and I think they actually surpassed it in a lot of ways). But at the end of the day, a game like this is about the story and the characters, and TLOU2 falls well short in that regard. Where Joel’s story in the original was one of redemption, Ellie’s story here is basically “we’re going to kill the best character in the game almost immediately, then make you spend half the game playing as the psycho that beat him to death, and THEN, we’re gonna make you let her go and take everything from you, including your one remaining connection to him (guitar). Because f*** you, that’s why.”

As a sequel, this game just felt unnecessary. I’d have much rather they just left the original stand alone. It was a masterpiece in every sense. Part II added nothing for me, and I think ultimately only tarnishes one of the most lauded franchises in video game history.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game felt more like a slow paced, drawn out soap opera movie, instead of an actual video game that the first last of us felt like. The First last of us game had that perfect balance between gameplay and cutscenes. The character development was poor for some of the characters. Watching Joel get killed by Abby, I had no problem with joel dying, my gripe was with how joel died. I felt if the characters were developed more gamers would be able to sympathize with them and then when joel's death would've been shown, atleast gamers would've understood Abby's anger and pain. I have no ill will against any character regardless of their sexual orientation, gender or sexuality, my problem was how it was represented in the game without showing any relevance. What was the relevance of the huge amount of screen time shown with ellie and dina, same goes for the sex scene with abby and owen. Alot of wasted potential and time that could've went into more gameplay that would've made the game more fun. I think naughty dog focused too much on the story and forgot that gamers value actual gameplay time, rather than a drawn out plot. Expand

The gameplay of Part II is very similiar that we expiernced in previos part of the game and Uncharted series. It's pretty good, but there is nothing really new that can hold me near the screen for a long time. It starts allright but it turns boring after first nine hours of gameplay. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Warning spoilers**** The mechanics and beauty of this game is wonderful. After over 21 hours of gameplay, I have to say they did a good job on making the game engaging and fun, However, the story is lackluster at best. Look, I don't care about the morality of the characters. It doesn't matter if you have to see Ellie and Joel as good people or not. We are attached to them, and we literally see Ellie grow up in front of our eyes. How they handled her story and fate was a disgrace. It felt like I was teased for 21 hours and I didn't orgasm. Nothing about the ending was satisfying. Everything that happens to Ellie just complies together to one **** sandwich after the other. the revenge plotline is as old as time. I think the best game that did the revenge killing was the god of war 3. This is about a character who finds and kills his father, and when you kill his father you get to beat the hell out of him however long you want to. Then the game ends, and the main character has a ****ty life, due to his poor choices. the ending for last of us 2, nothing like that. There is no satisfaction, nothing. It's not only just sad, but it felt meaningless. I still hate Abby, no matter how much they try to humanize her. It's like trying to explain the actions of Micha in red dead or the actions of fountain from Bioshock. Like yes, everyone is the hero in their own story. But goddammit Ellie is our hero, Shes the one we are rooting for. she should have died on that beach with Abby. Making her live a bleak life with everyone she loves dead or hating her is just cruel. I'm disappointed in this game. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

    Nota final 4/10

To start it all of, the gameplay, music was everything great like we expected it to be, the story was also great except for some parts. I knew they were going to kill Joel, and despite that fact that was what gave Ellie the strenght to pull all of what she did in Seattle. I Absolutely loved Dina, Ellie and JJ together, but the problem here is that Ellie after she leaves her home, in order to find the closure she needs, to look for Abby and kill her. I mean we play the game for hours and hours because just like Ellie, us the players also want to get revenge for Joel, and I feel like almost everyone in that position that Ellie was when drowning Abby would have killed her. Like she killed Joel and Jesse and nearly killed Dina and Tommy. I get that they wanted to stop with the killing cycle but like I said before we play through hours for basically no point whatsoever. To make this worse, Ellie comes home a few months later but the house is vacant. We've waited 7 years to get this end to the story? Please... and now I'm hearing rumors that we might get a last of us game with Abby and Lev as the protagonists, if they actually do that, I might just regret playing the second game at all, at this point I'm honestly thinking that I've should have just watched the game on Youtube to see the players get to the end and be like "for real this is it?" instead of wasting 79 euros on the game.

This game is so intense!! I can’t stop playing it! It’s Extremely graphic and really makes you experience the violent nature of survival in a world in ruin. It would have been nice if it was open world but im loving this game!! Don’t believe the negative hype! This game is fantastic!

Story is terrible and really scuttled this game. AI and gameplay aren't brilliant either. Graphics, world design, visuals and pretty much everything else are all brilliant. Wait until TLOU2 is in the bargain bin then it might be worth it.

As much as I would have wanted to go in the game open-minded, it wasn't easy, as moments in the story are so confusing and irritating that it is too distracting. As a fan of the original, I knew that someone important was going to die, but to kill them off at the start before we get to experience in this new game, it is more than disappointing. This game gets some things right and some wrong. The first good thing about this game is the visuals and the scenery. The environments look real, the facial animations look incredible, the animations, in general, look amazing. This game took a first good step in the next generation but that's about it. The narrative of this game is close to pointless. In the first half of the game, you get to play as Ellie, where you are introduced to the mechanics and the characters. You make your way to Seattle to try to find Abby, the other "protagonist" of the story to seek revenge, as she did for her father. You end up killing all her friends, who had a pretty insignificant impact to the story and the game and then you transition to the second half of the story, where you get to play as Abby. In the second half of the game, you are given another perspective to the story, from Abby's point of view. You get to see the characters from flashbacks that are shown previously to all the events that occur in the 1st half of the game. All characters in this game are thrown in the game for some sort of companionship more so than the relationship that you got in the first game. People come in the game and die not that long after with no real emotion from the character that you play. Two characters which I think that Naughty Dog got somewhat right is Yara and Lev, the two scars which are being hunted down from their own cult for breaking the laws. Unlike most of the other characters, you are given some backstory from both of them as you progress through the game which is welcoming at first, but just like everyone else in the game they don't last, so Yara is killed eventually in a horrific way. As you enter the final hours of the game, you kind of think to yourself was this even worth it. Close to finishing the game, you play as Ellie hunting down Abby for what she did as she still has those awful nightmares relating to Joel's death. Just before you get to kill Abby on that beach, Ellie changes her mind and tells Abby to leave. You then go back to the house which you lived in after Day 3 in Seattle and you reminiscence of the events that occurred before Joel's death. You end up on a note which is quite awkward and pointless. You just played 25 hours of a game which constantly spat at your face for the sake of violence. Violence wasn't a thing which bothered me, but it happened way too often for some sort of emotional impact. The characters in this game came in and left pretty quickly. The story is nothing like the first, where you spent time with the main cast and grown to love them pretty quickly. A sequel wasn't necessary but if it would have happened, people would be happy and excited as they got to spend more time with the main characters. This game is nothing but disappointing throughout the 25 hours which you get to play, with gameplay same to the first's which isn't something terrible but would have expected something fresh and new to the formula. If I was to rate this game based on its technical and visual aspects, it would get a 10 for graphics and visuals and 5 for gameplay. I think the game had many things going for it, and I understand if they couldn't top the original but a better and effort would have been appreciated. A lot of people who hate on this game are usually criticised for being either a homophobe or sexist for the pure fact that you ain't focusing on Joel, and I think that isn't the problem here. The fact that the characters you are spending time with are so emotionless and have no real character development from the start to the end of the story is really why people don't like this game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Game looks fantastic, lighting, visuals, and game play are spot on. Although, the story is very lacking in terms of how good it is and compared to the first game, this is piss poor. For someone who played the original over 10 times, this just isn't it. (SPOILER) Seeing one of our most beloved characters in a franchise (Joel), be treated in such a way by a very STUPID and UNNEEDED character (Abby) is beyond me. They even went as far as to make Joel and Tommy seem like they have never had experience in an apocalypse, these 2 would never walk into a room with a bunch of strangers, let alone save someone without at least questioning them first. I'm not sure what went through the writers' heads at Naughty Dog, but this just isn't The Last of Us for me. Game play, physics, lighting, and visuals are really the only positive thing about this game. If you're a hardcore Last of Us 1 fan, don't buy this, it will ruin everything you loved about the first game. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all; I don't think any game can ever reach a perfect 10 / 10 or 0 / 10. But if one game could get 10 / 10, it most certainly wouldn't be The Last of Us Part 2.Everything has been said already, and the leaks checked out not only to be totally true and descriptive of events and «story», but it doesn't really show how truly horrible and bleak The Last of Us Part 2 really is. After having watched through the whole game, I wouldn't dream of ever playing it.

Who did they make it for?

I REALLY loved the first game, but there's nothing left here but the name of the game and the names of the characters.
«WHY?» is the only question I'm left with, or «I don''t understand?» as PewDiePie said.
«Kill, loot, kill, loot, boring cut scene, kill, loot, kill, loot, ultra violent cut scene, kill, loot, kill, loot, graphic sex cut scene, kill, loot, kill, loot...» for 25 hours, if you rush it.
Naughty Dog spent «at least 100 million $» to make a repetitive, gory, sadistic murder simulator. Without a plot, story, or characters to care about.

I give it 4 for graphics, voice acting and gameplay.

This franchise, unlike Uncharted, was supposed to be about real life with real relationships in a very hard situation. I saw this in the first one, but here I see plot stupidity and LOTS OF IN-YOUR-NOSE LGBT AGENDA. Sorry guys, this is not a brutal world of survival in post-apocalypse era, this is your political lobby. Keep it in your pants.

An overall disappointing followup to the original masterpiece.

    Pros:
    - Stunning graphics, borderline next-gen
    - The same gameplay we've all come to love
    - Improved animations from the first game
    - A jump button, though this comes into play so few times it may as well not be there

    Cons:
    - By "the same gameplay," I do mean the same. Absolutely no innovations were made beyond turning the "counter" mechanic from the original into a "dodge" instead
    - The story is unoriginal. The plot is a tired, dime a dozen revenge story you've heard a thousand times already
    - Characters are inconsistent. Several high-stakes events happen because characters make stupid decisions they never would make realistically. Each character flips from competent to incompetent in a bipolar fashion.
    - NPCs are forgettable. In most cases, when a named NPC died, I (and all of the other characters) had difficulty truly caring
    - The story uses subverting expectations as a huge crutch, to the point where I could usually expect what "unexpected" event would happen instead. One subversion was used on *3 separate occasions*
    - Awful pacing. To make up an example (not a spoiler), lets say you killed a bad character shortly after learning their name and realizing they're in your way. The game would then, 6 hours later, give you a flashback showing you why that character was actually good, to try and make you feel bad.

Overall, I feel that The Last of Us is a 4/10. It has good graphics and classic TLOU gameplay, but not much else. I would not recommend this game.

There were always so many rumours of joel dieing and how it played out was brutal but i could go with it, it built the storey for ellies adventure... so after such a massive shock you are now 100% invested in ellie... so why the f**k break that and go totally off the reservation to play as abby... just baffles me! Stunning game visually, level design, music etc all 10/10!! If it wasn’t for the unbelievably poor writing and story lets this game down! Im now forced to play as the character i have no investment in and would rather see eaten by a clicker! This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Despite all the review bombing (on both sides, positive and negative), I'm going to throw my hat in the ring and give my honest review. I try to keep it vague, but I couldn't keep it 100% spoiler-free.

If you think this game deserves anything close to a 9 or 10, but have not yet beaten it, you really need to do that first. The first half of the game is incredible, but it takes a nosedive after Seattle Day 3. You'll know exactly what I mean when/if you get there. If you have gone through it all and still think it's a masterpiece, then that's great. Congrats on having your perfect sequel, and for being part of the 3% of players that have the "completed the game" trophy. Anyway, onto my review.

Throughout the first half of the game, Ellie is hunting certain named NPCs. You either find them dead or kill them yourself, all in pursuit of a High Value Target. There are some incredible parts here. For example, Seattle Day 1 has an incredible free-roam section, and there are flashbacks to Joel and Ellie that really make you see where the 10/10s come from.

The second half, though, tries to humanize those already-dead named NPCs via an obscene amount of flashbacks. It tries to make you feel bad that they're now dead, whether it was by your hands or not. This falls flat, though, because not only are they 6 hours too late to try to get you to feel for these people, but the reasons you're hunting them in the first place are very good ones, that most players will agree with.

In the end, the High Value Target gets to walk away, because the game assumes by now that you feel bad for doing what you did. It doesn't matter that you were *forced* to do it by the game, it's your fault.

If this was any other game, it'd be maybe a 7 or 8, but it's The Last of Us Part II. They completely **** over beloved characters to make this mediocre plot with a cliche message happen.

The gameplay is fun, the character-on-character dialogue is great, the graphics look great, the RPG mechanics are well-fleshed-out, but the overall plot is so unforgivably bad to me that it kills the whole game, because the reason I consider The Last of Us to be one of the best games of all time is due to it's plot.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 4 because the story line was so bad. Being forced to play Abby half the game made the play threw not fun at all. They killed off a beloved character Joel so early. When I got this game i was wanting to see the story of him and Ellie. I wanted to play as Joel. The flash backs made the game that much more sad. And also made me not want to play the game. I mean I waited 7 years. They advertised the game one way and gave us something compleatly different. The sad part about this all is because people are having these issues we have been called bigots and sexiest by the creators. So that really is a slap in the face for people like me who loved and supported them with the first game. I loved Ellie too in the first game because they did bring in a gay character so, that was awesome. She was witty and loveable. And her and Joel's relationship growing in that daughter and father dual was amazing. But this Ellie in the last of us 2 is nothing at all like the same from the first game.. I get people change in 4 years.. But it almost seems like the women rights agenda was so heavily shoved into this game. It had me rolling my eyes, because the amount of put down and demonizing of male roles in this game, to get their point across was disgusting. To me that's just as bad as shaming women. Just because they are men doesnt mean it doesn't count. Just like with Joel and Tommy they made them compleatly unlike their characters from the first game. Which put Joel in the situation that got him killed. It doesnt make any since. To me it had to have a good story. And this was far from anything close to the first. Plus you don't even get revenge. You go threw the whole game for literally nothing. Ellie gets nothing. A huge part of me just didn't care about it anymore because I hated the story line that much. The first 2 hours reminded me of the last of us. I waited 7 years for 2 hours. I paid 60+ for this game and played it and pretty much hated like 97 percent of the time. Its just disappointing. I want to give it lower then a 4. But the graphics were amazing. They did a amazing job on that. The A.I. was a little weired alot of the time but I saw some improvement. Don't like the fact their is alot of dog killing. In most situations unavoidable. But that's whatever, it wasnt a make it or break it for me like the storyline was. But i can see how it could be for some. I just wish it was different.100% would not play again. After all this craziness.. I really don't trust naughty dog and wont for future content. Expand

I will give this +10 for polish, +10 for gameplay, +10 for trying to do something different, and +10 for pushing graphics to a new level yet again. All things we have grown to want and expect from AAA studios. Also, I can't enfisise this enough, the team that put their time into putting this game together deserve a lot of credit and I hope they continue to make games because they are truly dedicated to their craft. The bad parties I am sure exist at the top of Naughty Dog, the captions of the ship that know full well riding on the wave of the last game that this one would sell in spite of public backlash. With the knowledge they could get away with doing whatever they wanted this direction was a fowl move. Be warned, people are wising up to contrived storytelling and this will heart your other intellectual properties from here on out. This is no Fallout 76 failure but it is a Wolfenstein Youngblood without the polish issues Wolfenstein Youngblood has. Also big daddy Sony won't be their to pay off, or threaten the Critics forever. 40/100 is all I can give, TL:DR do something else with this 25 hours unless you like torturing yourself emotionally and mentally in an effort to finish a game just to feel bad for playing in the first place. First, to be fair I love this game, part one It was like a masterpiece in all respects He did something new that I had never seen before I lived with the characters and lived with the terrifying world All enemies are humans or walkers unbelievable For me, it's the best game I've played in my entire life I got excited for the second part right away with the end of the first part I waited for many years to follow the news until the second part was officially announced I was excited to see this story complement ,

    finally after 7 years waited
When I played the game in the first chapter, I could not believe what I saw Something amazing is the evolution that happened in the graphics Sounds and directing Reality ,
I got so excited to move on To discover and see this amazing world And know what happened in the story , I was actually very disappointed I don’t know why the director wants to hate fans of the game ,
He ended the life of a main character in the game Unacceptably He was killed by someone who saved her life ! Just very easy without any introductions , The director was not satisfied with that
He tried to make us love a killer character (Abby) He has made her a bad story I played in it more than the main game character (Ellie) I just wanted this to end I've got bored

He wanted to make (Abby) superhero And struggling With a very weak and very boring story , Rather, a more terrible act than that in one of the chapters made me control a (Abby) To kill a (Ellie) !

I have reached some point in play I want to know what the end I want to take revenge for (Joel)
In the end Nothing happened Just each one went his way

(Abby) She survived what she did and make him superhero struggling ,
(Ellie) Just forgot (Joel) what he did to her I also thought this was clear when I caught the guitar to play But she could not Because Abby cut her fingers Just put the guitar and the game is over !

To be fair My rating is (4) Only for design and gameplay Also great soundtrack In general everything was a piece of art
But the story is very bad Even worse than that .

As someone who absolutely adored the first game, I genuinely want to throw up from how disappointing part 2 is. I waited for this sequel for 4 years (some people have waited longer), and I talked it up so much, it pains me deeply to write this review. A 4 is probably the most accurate rating this game deserves. The good parts:

-The music is incredible. Their music composer, Gustavo Santaolalla, the same person that made the first game’s music, is a genius. The music is very emotional and aids what’s happening on the screen perfectly. -The sound design is definitely pleasing and not unrealistic in the slightest. Everything, even things you wouldn’t expect to have a sound have one. They’re very crisp and make the game that more enjoyable. Sound is a huge factor in a game, and in this one it’s fantastic.

-The graphics are nothing short of beautiful. The textures are realistic and very lovely to look at. The look of the characters are the most believable I’ve ever seen. Definitely some of the best, if not THE best graphics right now. -The atmosphere is outstandingly well made. Being in a city, traveling through a forest, being underground, and traversing through abandoned buildings are just a few examples that are authentic to real life. Nothing is worse than not being immersed in a game. This one does it perfectly. -The animations are the best you can find at the moment. It’s incredible how much work was put into perfecting the animations. There can be so many different animations for one action, it feels so nice to play. The way the characters move and overall feel is extremely realistic, I never once doubted it.

-The level design is easily the best on the market. Every single scene is different. The insides of buildings to the forests are so well detailed, you can tell how much heart and soul they put into it. The variety of structures and areas to explore is outstandingly well crafted. It’s a huge breathe of fresh air and very fun to explore. -The acting is better than most movies. I said it. The actors Naughty Dog hired are extremely talented. Mainly Ashley Johnson, aka Ellie. She needs to be a main character in a movie, c’mon! The game’s cutscenes are honestly like watching a movie too. Their screams, cries, and overall tone of speaking is perfect for what’s happening on the screen. Easily the best acting in a video game to date. -The versatility in the gameplay is fantastic. You can use so many different items at your disposal to utterly destroy your enemies, or sneak right past them as if you were never there. The choice is up to you. You can go prone, cut through tiny sections in the walls, and jump across platforms. It feels very smooth and grounded, and there never once is a dull moment in the middle of battle.

-The enemies are so well programmed, they feel real. The things they say and how they approach to killing you is great, and very stressful at times! This includes the infected enemies, not just the human ones. -I didn’t encounter one single bug throughout the entirety of the game. Bugs and glitches can really break the immersion in a video game, believe me. Thankfully the testers knew what they were doing and made sure the player never encounters them. Can’t say the same for a lot of other games.

-This game is 30 hours long. That’s very good for a story driven game.

Now, with all these pros, how could this game possibly be a 4? Here’s how:

-The story -The characters and the development of them. How could such a minimal amount of things possibly make this game THAT bad? I ask myself the same thing. How, after all those pros, Naughty Dog managed to mess up the most preordered Ps4 game of all time? It’s simple. A bad story can break a game. A good story can make a game. Unfortunately, this game has a bad story. The entirety of the first game, we’re spent bonding with Joel and Ellie. They are what MADE the first game. The story in the first game is arguably one of the best ever made. In this sequel, their relationship is practically thrown away. The potential this sequel had with such legendary characters like Joel and Ellie could’ve made this game go down in history like the first one, too bad their relationship is not even utilized. Joel is basically a side character in this game. The execution of some scenes were very, very poor and simply mediocre at best. It’s hard to describe the bad parts of this game without spoiling anything, but I’m trying my best. How some characters act is completely and utterly unrealistic to this world and to them, which totally breaks the immersion and your heart at the same time. 40% of 30 hours is the amount of time you’re spent playing someone you absolutely hate. Let’s not forget the ending. The ending is easily the biggest part of a game. If you screw it up, you screw the whole thing up. That’s what they did. It’s so unsatisfying and disappointing, I cried from how much I disliked it. My heart is aching.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

Story is just shocking for the sake of being shocking. That itself isn't a bad thing if it was actually written well, however the story is TERRIBLE. Characters in this game make decisions that they would never even THINK about making in the first game. It's like the people who created these characters, forgot how to write their own characters?

Everything else is on par with the first

Everything else is on par with the first game (maybe even a little better sometimes) and the difficulty settings are GREAT and you can tweak elements of the game to your liking. They give you the ability to adjust minor things like how plentiful supplies are, how accurate enemies are etc. etc. I hope other developers take note of this in the future and incorporate this into their games. it's so rare to see customization like this and allows you to basically create your own experience.

I honestly would have scored this game lower if it weren't for the slight game-play improvements, better graphics and the difficulty customization options.

The story is the most integral part of this experience though and it doesn't even come close to matching or surpassing the first story, so i can't in good conscious give this a higher score.

Now, credit where it is due: the game is a technical marvel. The studio put in a lot of work to make an immersive game-world from the macro to the micro in terms of scale. The actors who provided voice and mo-cap talent did a fantastic job in their execution.

My issue akin to most others. The story was trite and bland, feeling like a Sundance Festival flop or a foreign film Netflix-original you would find buried in the bowels of the streaming service. Flashback elements were superfluous, Abby and her companions bland at their best, reprehensible at their worst.

If you want a game about the violent cycles of revenge, play RDR and RDR2. You'll have a better time.

Nothing describes this game better than disappointing. Everything great but story tanks harder than any story driven game ever.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Man, I am just disappointed, heartbroken, and disgusted by the crap Naughty Dog just put out here. I remember seeing the trailer for the first game (the og one from 2011) and thought “wow, what the hell is this?”. Never thought about playing it until I got my PS4 which came with digital remastered version. God damn I **** loved it, became my favourite story for a video game ever. Then I heard they’re making a sequel and I personally thought the game didn’t need a second game, because I thought the first one ended perfectly. But I was still excited, then few years later and after avoiding the spoiling leaks I got my copy. I **** WISH I GOT THE GAME SPOILED FOR ME, THEN I WOULD NOT HAVE WASTED MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE! Now that’s off my chest, this game is full of plot holes, poor character development, and just overall bad writing. Especially if you’re a fan of the last game, if you’re a hardcore fan like me then I’m so sorry. I just can’t believe they kill one of the most beloved video game characters and had the balls to replace this dead lovable character with their KILLER?! Then Naughty Dog expects you to feel sorry for this unlikeable new character and justified for why they killed this loved character. Neil **** Druckmann are you delusional? Oh yeah, they make you feel sorry for this new character way after she killed Joel **** it, I’m spoiling it). So you have no **** idea why this character killed Joel until way after, And when you do find out why she killed Joel you don’t **** care. Because you already hate her guts. So yeah don’t buy this game if you’re a fan, The good thing about this game is obviously the graphics, gameplay, beautiful visuals and soundtrack, and top notch acting. So this game is good except for the story, on a technical view, this game is awesome, but that terrible story made it hard for me to finish this **** Sorry for the bad grammar and **** Expand

Game play in fun at times and entertaining but I have to say the story in a sour and poorly designed train wreck. I fell sick and surprised about how it snowballed into a flat and uninspired end. Way to end your money maker go woke go broke!!

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
