Play this game, and judge it for yourself. No amount of words can explain how well told and we'll executed this rollercoaster ride is - no matter how controversial. You're meant to feel the way you feel, and the fact that you feel anything at all, including but not limited to anger, is the perfect example that they've succeeded in making you care. This isn't your conventional sequel.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I suppose I should start this by saying that the first game is one of my favorite video games of all time, so you can know the context, and that I have finished the game.

First, what I did like about the game:
    1. The graphics
    2. The locations
    3. Ellie and Dina's relationship!!
    4. Most of Ellie's gameplay
    4. The gameplay was ok but the companion AI is still messed up. I liked how they upped the handling difficulty of the weapons 5. The usage of stalkers is much more advanced than the first game and they're a big part of the gameplay now, which I loved
    6. The shamblers are amazing!
    7. Ellie's flashbacks

And now to what I didn't like:
    1. The overall story. Personally, I think the story is in the category of exploitation films. Meaning, it uses shock value, brutality, and extreme emotions as a way to hook people, often placing too much emphasis on those aspects. When done well it can make a good story, but unfortunately here I don't think it was done well. They killed Joel so early and in such a brutal way that it's simply not palatable to me. To do this with a beloved character after making him act far more trusting than his previous characterization simply feels shoehorned and sloppy.
    2. The ending. I understand that the moral is supposed to be that revenge doesn't pay off, but again, to give such an absolutely bleak ending to a beloved character was a risk that to me didn't pay off when paired with the rest of the tragedy in the game. Again, the usage of extreme emotional "torture" to elicit a response from the gamer. They could have given us a sad ending without making Ellie live out her biggest fear, or killing off Jesse for no reason, or giving us hope for Ellie's happiness then ripping it away. Sure, perhaps, it's realistic to their world, but in the first game Joel sustained a gut wound after being impaled by rebar, and he survived. The first game wasn't about realism and it just feels like they tried to go too hard to "make up for it" here. The least they could've done is had Ellie and Tommy reconnect to show that even if you make the mistake of giving in too much to revenge, there can be hope for rebuilding.
    3. Forcing us to kill dogs as Ellie. This feels like a sneaky move to try to get us to dislike Ellie more. Not to mention animal death is a big no for me and the fact that we're made to do it over and over is not fun to say the least.
    4. Lev's story. This here is pretty much what set in stone the fact that they were just making an exploitation film. There was no need to make Lev suffer the loss of not only his family, but also his culture, and in such an utterly violent way nonetheless. It's misery for the sake of misery, and it doesn't sit right with me as a remember of the LGBT+ community that they went so hard with Lev's suffering.
    5. Being made to play as Abby. I actually did enjoy a fair portion of Abby's part since hers has more zombies. But it just felt forced when they tried to make us feel bad for her. After all, she was the first one to take pleasure in revenge, and if not for her Ellie wouldn't have been pushed over the edge. I feel like playing as her could've been done much better if we just weren't forced to play as her for half of the game. It was quite disruptive after getting excited about maxing out multiple weapons and skills with Ellie, not to mention that Ellie was the reason I was playing the game in the first place.

I could say more but I think that sums most of it. I think it made sense for Joel to die, but they definitely didn't go the right direction with how they did it, especially with how they made Joel so trusting. They just went way too hard on the misery and gave the players too many cruel stabs with what they did to most of the characters, amd although I would normally say that the story isn't all that important, with the last of us it really is one of the main attractions.

Pandering to the vocal minorities has been the downfall of many top games. It is sad when virtue signalling takes priority over what the majority of people actually want. **** is a fool. This has to be the worst sequel ever in gaming history.

Sadly, nowadays it is a legitimation for publishing bad content, feminism, homosexuality or anything else to implement "politically correct" in a video game or film. Because if the storyline/the gameplay doesn't please the masses or individuals, you are automatically a racist, homophobic, sick human being. Which is indeed not true, because the broad mass of players agrees with these values and norms and have empathy for the characters. Nevertheless, the story is still badly written and even worse told and does not automatically become a "masterpiece" by incorporating such values. Here is a short list of the points which, in my opinion, makes the story bad:

    1. Joel and Tommy behave completely out of character by giving a random group their names and address. TLOUP2 even provides the proof for this itself, because as Ellie said: Joel and Tommy were aware that Joel has many enemies. (This is illogical in the normal world alone, but in a post-apocalyptic world? According to the motto: I go to any random group, tell them my name and address and then invite them to empty my fridge, although I know them for 3-4 minutes? Difficult but, ok.)
    2. The way Joel died is not worthy of a main character of this caliber. The death of Joel was a inevitable consequence for a second part, but the production was simply off.
    3. The fact that you MUST play the murderer of Joel for about 10 hours after watching Joel being brutally tortured and killed by him is insane. The order is crucial for me, because afterwards the game tries to force you into empathy to this character, which is not possible for me anymore. Perhaps when the order would be different, the empathy as well as the understanding would be much higher.
    4. Tommy behaves again out of character, which is ironic, because he behaves neither as in the 1st part nor as he was presented in the 2nd part. Because first Tommy goes off alone to protect Ellie and others, then wants to go back with them, after they teamed up in Seattle and he was told that Dina is pregnant. He barely gets away with his life (which I think is very unrealistic, considering the wounding he was inflicted with) to put pressure on Ellie one year later to finally hunt down the murderer now, and to put her own life at stake, even though he knows that she has a family now? It just doesn't fit his character.
    5. Ellie's departure at the end was not necessary. She takes off for another month-long "journey", leaving behind child and wife to hunt down the murderer of Joel. Any normal person who is filled with such hatred (especially in an apocalyptic scenario) and has two fingers bitten off during the "final" fight, would beat or kick the murderer with so much rage until you are exhausted or the adrenaline leaves the body again. The fact that Ellie lets the killer go is not logical. And yes, that's the "moral" of the story, but the fact that hate creates more hate and that you only experience loss and suffering with blind thoughts/actions of revenge is something that was performed 4-5 hours of playing time earlier and so I think the end is a pure time shift.

I don't care if a main character is male/female, gay/lesbian, black/white, African/Asian (to make that clear), as long as the core of the storyline is well worked out and you can identify with the protagonists or antagonists, which was very well done in the first part, but was mocked in the second. Positive about the game is the graphic appearance, as well as the open world parts. The gameplay hasn't improved much, but gives the impression that it is a bit outdated. As a very emotional person who comes for a great story I can not rate this game better than 1.

My conclusion from The Last of us Part II is, that no matter if you like the game or not (in my opinion it was a bad game), it doesn't matter anyway, because it's always easier to put others in a pigeonhole than to accept justified criticism/feedback. In the end all that counts is how much money the product has made, regardless of how high quality it is.

It's dark, heavy and emotional. It's a game that takes a lot of chances and hits in every way. The story is masterfully put together and entwines with the gameplay in a way that has you feeling all the emotions Naughty Dog wants you to feel. You will hate characters, love characters, then be forced to second guess your views on them, as well as the actions you've performed in the game. You will kill enemies out of necessity, then come to the realisation that you're killing somebody's loved one. This game does not care how you want things to go and it will drag you through this experience and it will do it violently.
The violence in this game is brutal, but it's relevant and meaningful; it's not gore porn. Ellie is relentless, the world she is in and the enemies she's up against are relentless.
This intensity adds to the already intense gameplay, you never feel like you're safe and you always feel like you just can't catch a breathe.
I could go on and on about how amazing this work of art is; from the sound design, to the writing, to the acting, graphics, animations... I'll stop there.
Quite easily one of the most intense, harrowing, emotionally draining experiences I've ever had in media, let alone video games. A masterpiece.

Last of Us 1 is my favourite game of all time. I completed and enjoyed LOU2. Last of Us 1 is my favourite game of all time. I completed and enjoyed LOU2. It certainly wasn’t the story I’d have wanted for the protagonists, but I appreciate the courage in what was delivered, it was definitely not the safe choice for a part 2, it was edgy, and thought provoking. The gameplay, audio, and visuals were everything I hoped for.

The first game was mostly "us" (Joel, Ellie, and the player) against "them" (pretty much anyone who stood in our way). In the second game, we are compelled to consider the experience of someone who represents the worst sort of "them" - i.e. a nemesis of us. Switching that perspective is a **** it causes all sorts of uncomfortable cognitive dissonance. Attempting to understand, empathise with, bond with, even become the other side is difficult, and the difficulty of that challenge was the genius of LOU2 I think. We bonded with Ellie and Joel in Part 1, as they bonded with each other: we shared the same journey, so that by the end, regardless of where you would objectively sit on the "kill one to save the many" question, most of us could understand Joel's actions: they were what a father would do for his de facto daughter.

How can we switch perspectives when we are so attached to our beloved protagonists from Part 1? Letting go of that bias and almost familial bond is hard, it feels unnatural and disloyal, yet I found it insightful to try.

The Last of Us 2 was darker in so many ways: not just sinking to greater depths of brutality, but the glimmer of hope was immeasurably dimmer. Brutality breeds retaliation, and I appreciated watching that mirrored on both a micro (personal) and macro (faction) scale. I found the challenge of forging empathy for "them" real hard, and it made me so aware of how strong bias can be, how strong bonds for loved ones can be. I wanted Ellie to make better choices, but filled with survivor guilt, having only just begun her journey of trying to forgive Joel, only to have him brutally tortured to death in front of her... I can see why vengeance was easier than other ways of moving forwards.

Tl;dr LOU2 for me was a challenge of empathy and perspective, giving me the opportunity to appreciate that the "us" story that so many games present comes hand-in-hand with the largely untold or superficially told story of "them", which that we seldom consider. That good and bad are often strongly influenced by perspective, it's easy to condone the bad actions of us, and easier on our conscience if we don't consider them too closely. For me that's something to consider not only in games and in many other aspects of life.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Please, please, please, if you enjoyed the first game do not buy the second one. The last of us franchise was broken by this game... Good Parts of the game, the graphics are beautiful they’re great, the soundtrack was good but needed a little more work. The details on the characters like the eye balls were incredible and the blood on the character when you kill someone. The gameplay was alright but out of date for this generation. But none of that impacts the story in any way. The story just completely bombed the game for me, the ending had me depressed, like what the **** happens afterwards, why did Ellie have to lose 2 fingers and lose the ability to play the guitar and why did Dina have to leave, what **** writing, That ending really annoyed me like what the **** we needed to have Abby die or Joel die at the end. Joel’s death really pissed me off as well he shouldn’t have died to a ****ing GOLF CLUB!!!!! He would never trust anyone like them. The story let me down and the last of us franchise is not the last of us without Joel and Ellie and we got about two hours of them together throughout the game also when playing as Abby it was so difficult to carry on because her character is just so terrible also you have to play as her for 10 hours and it is equivalent to doing chores for hours on end not doing what you want. This game would be like if Harry Potter said to Lord Voldemort after hunting him down and then finally getting there and then fighting him and then getting a memory of lily and James and then saying **** it you can go. What a let down of 7 years of waiting. My Overall Rating would be a two just for the graphics and the soundtrack. You have to watch videos of Abby dying Over and over As they are so funny and because you reading this probably hate her too. This is a genuine review for me after playing it myself. Please save your money for Cyberpunk or Ghost of Tsushima. Expand

We spend only half the game as a beloved character and the second with another who they try to make us like but fail miserably. Unnecessary sex scene to boot and a WTF ending that’s just... woof.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wow was my expectation subverted. Looks beautiful, great music and voice acting. Same tense yet stodgy gameplay seven years on. You can now dodge, jump and crawl. Very very poor story and treatment of Ellie and Joel. The character growth and story were the strongpoint of the first game but this time round;
    Ellie gets broken, develops PTSD and a twitch, loses everything;
Joel, who could smell an ambush in the first game, walks into an ambush, with no gun and tells everyone his name, dies a pointless death of plot contrivance.
Abby (and her freakish arms, who took ALL the steroids? Abby did, Abby took ALL the steroids in Cordyceps world) is an **** and a psychopath, kills her WLF friends and comrades for Lev/Lilly, someone she just met.
Tommy, who founded Jackson in a post apoplectic wilderness, gets emasculated; encounters Abby 3 times, gets 1.knocked out, 2. punched thru a barrier and 3.shot in the head. He ends up divorced with a limp and a twitch.
I connected with Owen, Abby's ex, who was ready to leave all the killing and his pregnant girlfriend behind but still wanted weird angry sex with Abby and her enormous arms. (She reminded me of an East German shot putter. One for the kids there)
Everyone else is killed, often brutally, except Abby, who Ellie should have but didn't. No development, no growth, no redemption, no questions, just violent death after death and no remorse. Two spoilt orphan girls with Daddy issues making dozens and dozens of other orphans. Mr Druckman, you're not as smart as you like to think you are. I will not be buying anything that you are associated with in the future. The big lesson is not revenge is bad, m,kay, but rather don't take your fanbase for granted to push a social agenda. I'm looking at you Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harley Quinn, Terminator Dark nonsense etc etc etc......
And as for revenge stories; Bladerunner, Red Dead Redemption, Conan the Barbarian, Carrie, the Illiad by Homer, Hamlet, The Count of Monte Cristo, Zorro, Oldboy, Fists of Death, Sin City, Kill Bill, The Gladiator, True Grit, The Princess Bride, Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor, Metal Gear Solid 5, Dishonoured, Assassins Creed 2, Max Payne, Legacy of Cain, God of War (2005), Revenant, The Darkness, Death Wish (all of them, the clues in the title), John Wick 1, 2, and probably 3, Django Unchained, Unforgiven, Get Carter, Mad Max, Taken, Desperado, Gangs of New York, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Pale Rider (one of my favourites). How is this story a masterpiece? I felt empathy with all the wronged, none tried to cheaply manipulate my emotions to empathise with the killer and most had a clear resolution i.e. Roy clearly sees the value of life when he saves Deckard. It's all been done before, a lot better.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think people are way way too hard on this game. From what I’ve seen of the reviews, a lot of the issue people have is with the writing. They say that Joel should have been avenged, or not killed at all. They say Abby was not sympathetic enough for them to care about the ending, but going through this game, I’ve had such a hard time seeing what you’re saying. I was upset when Joel died. Distraught beyond belief. Even had to stop playing for a bit. But the story that came out of it was well-done. Whether you admit it to yourself or not. Abby’s story was compelling. It made me care for the characters that Ellie had taken out. I was mad when I began to play as her again, then I slowly became mad at myself for defending her, then I was mad at Ellie. I didn’t know how to feel for a while. This game is an emotional rollercoaster to be sure. Anyway I have more concerns to address. I’ve heard the complaint that Joel and Tommy acted out-of-character in order for Joel to die. Which I can see at first glance, but these games are not “first-glance” games. In the first game, there is not a single point where Joel would have stopped to help a stranger. But now he lives in a community that thrives on helping people. It thrives on giving people chances and helping them live. After living in a community like that for 4 years, or more in Tommy’s case, of course he would do that. It makes sense. Our penultimate complaint I’ve heard is that Ellie is an unlikable character in this game. She’s a jerk. She’s nothing like the Ellie we knew. Well, of course she isn’t. Of course she’s a jerk. The man she saw as her father figure, lied to her about the most important moment of her life. They didn’t truly talk for 2 years or so, and just as she’s ready to start forgiving him, he’s stripped away from her. Right in front of her face. She’s not the same fun-loving, wonder-filled 14 year old we knew. Things change. And after what happened, that’s a perfectly logical destination to end at. Heartbreaking, but it makes sense, and it’s good well-written story. Last but certainly not least, the ending. The ending is rough. I will give you that one. It is very rough, but it is not bad. The first game ended very bittersweetly. This game was just very very bitter. Which I expected nothing less from this dark of a story. Ellie, as hard as it is to admit, she made the right call in the end. I was breaking down when she was threatening Lev. I did not want to fight Abby. The game did it’s job for me. You cannot complain that Ellie is a jerk and that she’s nothing like she was, but then also complain that she doesn’t murder Abby. Those complaints are so contradictory it hurts. Ellie didn’t take the high road. She took the bear minimum of a medium road that it took to not lose herself completely. If she had just stayed behind, or just left without fighting Abby, maybe she would have deserved a better ending. But everyone in this story was consumed by vengeance and hatred in the end. Ironically everyone other than Abby. Look, I understand many of the complaints given, and why they were given. There is voice to those concerns. But this game, is not a bad game at all. In fact, I’d go as far as to say it’s a good game. But once Joel was killed, so many people just clicked off their ability to care. We knew from the start this was not Joel’s game. In fact, many people speculated that he would be dead, but now that it happened, the game is “terrible” and “a slap in the face to fans of TLOU”. It’s not. If you can just allow yourself to care, it is a good well-done, well-acted story. And it has wonderfully tense gameplay on top of it all. Hell, The Rat-king battle as Abby might be one of my favorite terrifying moments from gaming period. That’s all I’ll say on the matter. Whatever your views are on the game are, all I ask is that you be civil. Respect other’s opinions, listen to one another, and don’t become calloused towards Naughty Dog and all the wonderful people who worked on this game. Have a good day. Expand

I enjoyed this game a lot. Not as good as the first, but still a great story that delves deeper into the characters of Joel and Ellie. I think some things could have been handled better, but I don’t understand the hate. Btw I’m not a ‘fanboy’.

    Disappointing plot,
    Joel can die,
But this inexplicable and worthless person was killed by a character who had just been rescued and did not know who it was.
His value was completely erased by the scriptwriter in the second generation, like the ants were killed
    I can't accept
I wish I had never seen the second generation...
I just want to stay good in the first generation...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

There are so many things fundamentally wrong with the game I can’t even point out one and say this is the problem here: my personal issues were with the poor writing, with inexistent character development, with inconsistencies between how the story was presented in the trailer and the final product, with how contradicting the plot was, with being forced to play an insignificant character you were just introduced to, with how character progression was managed from the first game, with inconsistent message, with misleading presentation of the game pre-release, with lackluster ending that undermines the purpose of the whole journey, with unnecessary sex scenes, cheap plot devices and slight character remodels that served to further the game’s message with disregard to characters and plot. I am sad to admit that this game has been more than a disappointment from the first part and this makes me question whether I trust any further products Naughty Dog puts forth. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Actually, I didn't play The last of us 1, Left Behind and second part, so thats it. The story is very good, but the ending of epilog is so bad. If you play as Ellie, you will have bow, bolt-action rifle, pump shotgun and another almost no ammo. If you play as Abby, you will have semi-automatic rifle, double-barrel and sawed-off shotgun, crossbow, marksman pistol and another weapon better than Ellie's. If you didn't realized it yet, the developer want that, you would have to like Abby more than Eliie, because Abby have better arsenal. And now end of the epilog. At the epilog you don't know, if it is dream or not. Also Ellie want's revenge almost after circa 2-3 years. The last fight between Ellie and Abby is bad, because it's so long a maybe also hard. And when Elie came to the empty house and tries to play without two fingers there is clifhanger again. But this clifhanger is the last what you see. So you must wait until next part or DLC. 7,5/10 Expand

A plot that sounds like it was written by a 13 year old edge lord, with zero payoff and destroys every character you loved from the first game. A badly written revenge plot with no revenge. This is not Eliie and Joels story again, this isnt even Ellies story. its just a story, and a bad one at that.

New infected, especially the rat king feel out of place, it was actually in the concept art for tlou1 but they decided not to use it as they themselves felt it didnt feel very 'the last of us' and was more akin to the necromorphs of dead space, to me the lack of colour, the and design seems like it would be better suited in evil within 2 or one of the bad resident evil games. The shambler isnt as bad but still feels out of place, more like a l4d enemy.

Character inconsistencies that straight up insult and tarnish characters from tlou1, that change personality as and when the plot demands it

Very obvious that the characters were written around the plot.

Only positives ill give is the acting, graphics and a special mention for all the accessability settings they made for disabilities, never seen anything like it and its really cool.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let’s start with the positives. This game is a technical marvel. Amazing graphics and environments that aren’t likely to be topped until a couple years into the next console generation. The accessibility options are also really incredible. Hopefully other developers can take notice and implement similar options in their games to making gaming more accessible for people that weren’t able to enjoy it before.

Gameplay, I’m a bit lukewarm on. It really hasn’t changed much from the first game. To me it was serviceable in the first game, because it was a vehicle to get you through a really awesome story. This probably won’t win you over if you really hated the first game from a gameplays perspective.

Now onto the story. Full disclosure, I heard about the leaks in advance, but was optimistic that context could make them more understandable. Some of the biggest plot points in fictional history would have seemed totally crazy if you heard about them without context. Unfortunately, at least in my opinion, context did not make things better.

ND seemed to be set from the start on Joel dying and the game ending a certain way, but apparently couldn’t be bothered with putting much thought into how to get there. Somehow Joel’s 30 years of survival instincts eroded away in 4 short years, and put him in a situation he could have never possibly ended up in.

Now the ending, throughout the game they really emphasize how far Ellie is willing to go for revenge with heinous act after heinous act, to finally back down at the finish line, a final action that can’t even compare to killing dogs and pregnant women. It’s just really really poor writing, and really doesn’t seem like it could have possibly come from the same creative minds that brought us the original.

In the end I think a 6/10 is pretty reasonable, because the game does achieve some pretty spectacular things, but stumbled hard at the one thing fans really wanted ND to deliver on.

The camera loves to linger on characters being mutilated and killed while the author(s) try to shame you for what "you" did (there are no choices.) American politics is dense throughout the game and seems gratingly out of place in the post-apocalypse world, which would no doubt have developed its own distinct politics and likely not the kind we see in 'TLOU 2'. The gameplay, which was never what anyone played TLOU for, is quite boring--for what it's worth.

It is genuinely surprising to me that the game is this bad. I do not think anyone can legitimately enjoy this game, but I know that many people will pretend to in order to appear sophisticated.

I understand so many people are mad about how they treated Joel however this is part of the story, I accept it and let the game finish the storytelling. I think it is unfair to judge a game just because of its opening. The best part of the story I think is Abby's story. It was so great and her relationship with Lev is so touching. It makes the game duo heroine and tells the story in a creative way: two girls, different story but related, opposite side at three same days. Many criticize that at the ending Ellie should kill Abby but in my own opinion, she should let Abby go. Everyone is their own hero in their own story. At the epilogue, when Ellie puts down the guitar, meaning she has grown up and walked out of the shadow of Joel's death. Expand

The Last of Us crowned the PS3 era and defined the generation. I have no doubt that the Last of Us 2 has just done the same for the PS4. Brutal, beautiful, horrifying and moving, a classic.

The Last of Us is my favourite game of all time so I was excited for the sequel, even though I got spoiled about one of the major events. This event sounded questionable but I decided to wait for context like many of the critic reviews said to before I judged it. My thoughts on the game overall by the end was graphics 10/10, gameplay 9/10, story 3/10. My thoughts on the game overall by the end was graphics 10/10, gameplay 9/10, story 3/10. The story just killed my enjoyment of The Last of Us Part 2 completely. It is so terribly written. There are some good moments, which is why the story gets a 3 and not a 0 but they in no way make up for the awful story choices that are made. Joel's relationship with Ellie is spat upon, characters make ridiculous choices, and the mystery woman, played by Laura Bailey, is, in my opinion, one of the worst video game character of all time. This character and the way she is portrayed is one of the big reasons why the story is so bad. Not only that but the ending is just awful. It completely undoes the message they were trying to tell and makes everything feel pointless. Again, the graphics and gameplay are amazing, but I just did not want to replay the game and witness such a terrible story. I returned the game yesterday. 4/10. The graphics, gameplay and some story elements are good but since the overall story is so important to The Last of Us Part 2 , and most of that story is horrible, I had to give it a 4. Now, whenever I replay the original The Last of Us, I am going to have to pretend that this never happened. Expand

The game is a punch in the face for all fans of the first game. U have to play the murderer of joel for 50% of the playtime. Story is **** like in the new star wars movies. New characters that no one needs and the game forces u with positive backround storys to like them. All in all dont ever buy. Just keep the good memory from the first part. :( btw gameplay is ok

This game, or should I say experience, it's for lack of a better word. Amazing.

It still peppers touching moments but these do not comfort for very long.

It uses the player’s experience to drive in the point that this is a very dark and bleak reality. But doing so it makes the world feel so much bigger, beyond just the characters we play and interact with. Combine this with exquisite graphics and game mechanics. It's just incredible.

Don’t get me wrong graphics and mechanics still a solid like the first instalment but the story pfft 7 years I waited for this game to come out! J dies which I’m fine with but the reasoning of that is whack, Abbie story line is boring and pointless and I felt like was a filler I completely rushed through it all because I wasn’t interested, the ending aswell so great Ellie goes for revenge excellant I like it but she doesn’t acc revenge Joel and now she’s by herself with no one and nothing? And the negative chemistry between Ellie and Joel was a real bummer that’s what made the first game so good!!!

Outstanding game, definitely one of the best games of this generation. Devs made a huge work. The game looks, plays and feels like a top class product. To be honest I was sceptical about the game before I played it. But after I started playing it I just couldn’t stop. Definitely a must play for all PS4 owners.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Worst Game of the generation.Period. Naughty Dog was one of those studios who created the best story driven game from The Last Of Us to Uncharted games. Now we have this Game. I don't care about agenda, politics, left ,right, diversity. I just want to play a good decent story driven game. The Last Of Us is Joel and Ellie,Without them There is no last of us. This game is just pure torture.BUT Voice Acting and graphics in this game is excellent and the music is absolute genius.Overall i would have given this 6/10 but it really made me depressed when i was playing the game. The naughty dog should not have made Abby as a playable character. She is not like-able at all .I just feel very sad for Ellie, she lost everything. It kinda funny that in the end there is a soundtrack which is beyond desolation. It sums up Ellie's life. YUP,its sad.TRUTH BE TOLD EVERYTHING IS GREAT EXCEPT FOR THE STORY. IT'S pure garbage,Trash,Poop. Expand

Story is so COMPLEX, so complex that most people don't understand it... Someone could really take the story and make a movie, and it would be a great movie, I cant imagine why people are mad with the game, probably because of joel's death, 10 hours gameplay of abby, or the ending... but thats just stupid, joels death is the key to the journey, 10 hours of gameplay is to know the other perspective, the abby's perspective,if people dont want to know the reason of abby, they dont want to enjoy the game, the game is made to be dark, and give you the feelings of the characters, and they did it so well!!! and the ending is so damn complex that people who dont understand are still mad... For real, people who dont like the game is because they dont understand what a good game/story is... Expand

Story shows the player what it takes if you go too far in path of revenge. It shows you what empathy is. (!!!) But for full understanding of TLOU2's storyline you must PLAY, not watch some FUNNY STREAMS or LET'S PLAYS, game is about immersion.
Graphics is awesome, in my opinion it's most beautiful game on PS4, face animation is beyond.
Gameplay has been improved, new stealth mechanics, shooter gameplay is smooth.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
